Another aviation emergency. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. Rescue crews in Alaska searched into the night for a Bering Air flight carrying nine passengers and a pilot that failed to land in Nome yesterday. Fox's Chanley Painter says so far that search for the Cessna plane has been limited to the ground.
The Nome Volunteer Fire Department says the weather and visibility is preventing them from searching by air. Air Force is planning to provide flight support. And the Coast Guard is also using an HC-130 Hercules airplane to scope the area.
Meaning the Coast Guard is increasing its presence in the area. Now, the disappearance marks the third major incident in U.S. aviation in eight days following crashes in D.C. and Philadelphia. Two unions sued the Trump administration over what they call catastrophic cuts to USAID. The American Federation of Government Employees and the American Foreign Service Association say the Trump administration's created a global humanitarian crisis.
And they're suing to stop what they call unconstitutional and illegal actions. President Trump has said USAID is being led by radical lunatics. In Washington, Jill Nadeau, Fox News. The White House reportedly plans to cut the 10,000 global workforce to fewer than 300 employees. Meantime, federal judges issue rulings and other lawsuits.
A judge temporarily blocked the administration's federal employee buyout program. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt. There was more than 40,000 individuals, federal workers, who had accepted the buyout program. We expect that number to increase. And that alone, just the 40,000, again, we expect it to increase. It's going to save the American people tens of millions of dollars.

The Ayatollah Khamenei made the comments after President Trump floated the idea of nuclear talks with Tehran. Meantime, Ukraine says if it cannot join NATO, it wants nuclear weapons. President Vladimir Zelensky wants Ukraine to be part of NATO. But if that can't happen, he says his country must have a nuclear deterrent.
Ukraine gave up its supply of Soviet-era nukes in 1994 in exchange for guarantees that its sovereignty would be respected. President Zelensky believes Russia's invasion proves that deal has fallen short. Luigi Mangione's team of defense lawyers now includes Avram Moskowitz, who is experienced in arguing capital cases where the death penalty may be on the table. Mangione is charged federally with using a firearm to commit murder, which is punishable by death or life in prison.
Defense attorney Mark Agnifilo says he's happy to have Moskowitz on board, saying that Mangione needs every resource to fight the charges against him.
