An Amazon strike days before Christmas. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. Thousands of union Amazon workers plan to walk off the job in just two hours as they fight for better pay and working conditions. We're out here all day in the rain.
making Christmas happen for people. And we just want the respect to stop breaking the law and just sit down and negotiate with us. That's all. The Teamsters Union says the giant online retailer refused to show up at the bargaining table, so workers at facilities in New York City, Atlanta, San Francisco, Skokie, Illinois, and Southern California will hit the picket line.
Amazon has said it prefers to deal directly with workers, not a union. Overnight, the FAA issued drone flight restrictions for several areas in New Jersey. The agency says the temporary flight restrictions for special security reasons will stay in effect until January 17th.
President-elect Trump, and with some help from Elon Musk, torpedoes a bipartisan spending bill to avoid a partial government shutdown on Saturday, urging lawmakers instead to pass a bill without Democratic giveaways. GOP Senator Josh Hawley tells Fox News. It's all the woke garbage. It's the censorship boards. They're getting funded in this. There's hundreds of millions of dollars for a recycling access center in this bill. I mean, it is a total offense.
The bill would have provided more than $100 billion in relief to disaster victims and farmers and kept the government funded through March 14th. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says it's all on the Republicans now. House Republicans will now own any harm that is visited upon the American people.
And police in California say they arrested a man who was planning a mass shooting. The FBI says 20-year-old Alexander Poffendorf of Carlsbad admitted he was planning the attack. America's listening. A delivery driver on a busy road in Brea, Ohio, steps in to save a child who wandered away from home. Phil Hawkins, a driver for Pete and Pete Container Services, says he was shocked when he saw a young child running in the middle of a busy street. Phil stopped his truck and ran after the young boy and immediately took him back to his truck.
He said he placed the child, who was very cold, inside his truck and turned up the heat. So in my mind, the only thing was just to get him warm, call the police, and let's find out where his parents are. After calling 911, he got the child a blanket. He said the boy was unable to tell him where he lived.
A short time later, officers and the child's dad showed up. His father told officers that somehow his son was able to unlock the door and go outside. Peggy Gallick with Fox 8 Cleveland.
