Waves of missiles targeting Israel. Elisa Brady, Fox News. Those air raid sirens coming across Tel Aviv.

Yet another indication that the city is under direct attack. Iran retaliating for a devastating Israeli operation that began overnight targeting Iranian nuclear sites and some individuals, killing four top generals and nuclear scientists. Attacks planned for a long time. Iran hitting back with three waves of missiles so far. Fox's Trey Yinkst in Tel Aviv. You could see those ballistic missiles streaming through the skies of Tel Aviv.

Israel's second largest city. Some of them were intercepted above us with Israel's advanced missile defense capabilities from the David Sling to the Arrow 2 and 3 systems. But an Israeli intelligence source confirming to Fox News that the Americans are also helping to shoot down these incoming missiles. U.S. officials tell Fox News both Navy and Army assets are being used to help defend Israel. Israeli officials say Iran crossed a red line by targeting population centers.

The fighting comes just a few days before the U.S. and Iran in Oman. Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House. An official here says President Trump did speak with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday. The president says Iran was given chance after chance to make a deal over its nuclear program and can still do so. Israel says its operation is self-defense. The U.S. tells the U.N. Security Council it will continue to seek a diplomatic resolution that prevents Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

The Mideast fighting prompting precautions in New York City. In light of Israel's attack on Iran last night, we are deploying additional resources to a wide range of religious, cultural, and diplomatic institutions across the city. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the New York governor has said there are no credible threats at this time. Flooding in Texas now blamed for at least 10 deaths in San Antonio. Continues after yesterday's crash of an Air India jet into a residential neighborhood shortly after takeoff, killing 241 people on the plane and others on the ground. Indian Prime Minister Modi visited the crash site and spoke with a lone survivor on board the plane.

One of the two telemetry black boxes has been recovered. The NTSB and the FAA are sending teams to India to help in the investigation. Air India ordered inspections beefed up of its Boeing Dreamliner fleet. More than a thousand of the planes are in use around the world. This is the model's first major accident. Fox's Greg Palcott just getting word that the former CEO of DNA testing firm 23andMe has won the bidding to be the new buyer of the company's assets.

The Wall Street Journal reporting the offer was more than $300 million, scuttling a previous deal with Regeneron, which was challenged in court over concern about how customer data would be handled. The U.S. Transportation Chief wants to steer toward more self-driving capacity in the U.S. as China expands its use of automated cars. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said they're streamlining a process that should result in more testing and use of self-driving cars, in particular ones that do not have steering wheels or brakes.

There's an exemption process that lets carmakers manufacture and use 2,500 cars a year that do not comply with federal standards. Duffy says this exemption process has been bogged down in red tape for years, and he's ready to move through it more quickly. Since 2018, for example, GM has submitted petitions twice to operate cars without controls, but they've rescinded those petitions, and last year they stopped funding their cruise robo-taxis after one of them harmed a pedestrian.

Ford withdrew its petition last year after closing its self-driving unit three years ago. Jessica Rosenthal, Fox News. Conflict in the Middle East wiping out this week's gains on Wall Street. The Dow dropping 769 points today. Oil prices surging more than 7%, topping $72 a barrel. I'm Lisa Brady, Fox News.
