Two deadly crashes. I'm Deborah Valentine, Fox News. Investigators may take weeks to recover all the debris from Friday night's deadly air ambulance crash in Philadelphia. The NTSB is investigating what caused a medical jet to crash into a busy Philadelphia neighborhood Friday night. Officials say it had just taken off. All six people on board and one person on the ground were killed. At least 19 others were hurt.
Right now, investigators are searching for the plane's black box amid a vast debris field. They hope it can give clues about what caused the jet to go down. The NTSB classifies the crash as an accident. Fox's Chanley Painter reporting. There's speculation that the Black Hawk helicopter involved in Wednesday's fatal impact with an American Airlines commercial jetliner over Washington, D.C. may have been flying at too high of an altitude.
National Transportation Safety Board investigator in charge, Bryce Banning, speaking alongside NTSB member Todd Inman. The PAT-25 was within the lateral boundaries of a helicopter route. The ceiling of that route was 200 feet.
As member Inman said, we do have not got the data out of the FDR for the Blackhawk at this time. A total of 67 people on both aircraft were killed.
