Dozens of people recovering, lucky to be alive. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. 15 others are not killed in the attack in New Orleans early New Year's Day. I also still feel guilty that I couldn't help her, that other people didn't make it out, you know? So on one hand, you're happy. On the other hand, you're...

Feel terrible inside. Alex Berth Mitchell just told Fox he missed being a victim going into a club one minute before a man drove a rented truck through a crowd of people. Police shot and killed Shamsud bin Jabbar, who was from Texas and a U.S. Army veteran. Improvised explosive devices also found, so investigators are looking to see if he had help.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrell just told Fox a short time ago. It's an active investigation of a crime scene after a terrorist event. And I don't think we could, I mean, it's not possible to take this too seriously. President Biden offered his condolences to the victims, calling the attack despicable, adding...

expression of desire to kill. It was also an ISIS flag image found on the truck. President-elect Trump calls it pure evil. Adding in a Truth Social post after midnight, our country is a disaster, a violent erosion of safety, national security, and democracy. Here's another question related to New Orleans. Is there any link to what happened

In Las Vegas, where a rented Tesla Cybertruck filled with explosives blew up right outside the Trump International Hotel. The vehicles used in both this and the New Orleans incident were rented from the same rideshare company, Turo. In a statement, the spokesperson from that company said, we are heartbroken by the violence perpetrated in New Orleans.

and Las Vegas and our prayers are with the victims and families. We are actively partnering with law enforcement authorities as they investigate both incidents. Fox's Chandler Painter, the driver was killed inside the truck, at least seven other people injured. Israel's taking out another Hamas leader as the war rages in Gaza, killing the head of the terror group's internal security forces.

wasn't the only New Year's Day massacre. There was another one overseas where 12 people were murdered in Montenegro. A massacre in Montenegro, the small Balkan states in shock after a gunman opened fire in six different locations in a town called Seteñi. Among the dead, a bar owner, his two children and other family members. Attacker Azo Martinovic fled but was later surrounded by police and killed himself with a shot to the head.

Officials say the 45-year-old was at the bar all day before a brawl broke out. He went home and returned with his weapon. Montenegro's government's declared three days of mourning. Prime Minister Miloš Košpájec says he may try to impose a total ban on firearms. Jonathan Savage, Fox News. There was also a shooting late last night in New York City. Gunmen opened fire on a crowd outside a nightclub in Jamaica, Queens, then fled. At least 10 people were wounded, mostly teenagers.

On Wall Street, rising futures suggest gains to start the new year after a positive 2024 for the stock market. The Dow rose about 13%. The Nasdaq surged up 29%. Two more teams advance to the college football playoff semifinals. Texas and Ohio State will face off in the Cotton Bowl with a national championship game berth on the line after both teams walked away Wednesday with victories.

After letting a 16.4th quarter lead slip away, Texas managed to finish off Arizona State in double overtime. Hook them horns! They're headed home to Texas to play!

That was courtesy of ESPN as Texas won 39-31. And at the Rose Bowl, the Buckeyes got revenge on Oregon after falling to the Ducks in October with Ohio State handily beating Oregon 41-21. Joe Morgan, Fox News. Now the last quarterfinal game was supposed to be in New Orleans, but that was postponed by the deadly terror attack. The plan is for Georgia and Notre Dame to play this afternoon. The winner faces Penn State. I'm Dave Anthony. This is Fox News.
