The NYPD says it has arrested a man they say is responsible for the death of a woman on a Brooklyn subway train. Here's Fox's Grinnell Scott. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said police believe a person of interest now in custody allegedly set a woman on fire as she sat next to him when a subway car stopped at a Brooklyn station. With the help of an MTA employee and a fire extinguisher, the flames were put out.
Unfortunately, it was too late and the victim was pronounced on the scene. Once photos of the person of interest who police say watched the woman burn for a short time were released, Commissioner Tish said some high school-aged New Yorkers saw the suspect and notified police. There is said to be video of the entire incident that will aid the investigation. In New York City.

President Joe Biden signed a bipartisan funding bill Saturday that prevents the government shutdown. Fox's David Spunt has the story. President Biden, with less than a month in office, did not take any sort of active role, at least publicly during the negotiations with Republicans. His press secretary blamed the issues on House Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republicans after signing the bill to president in a statement said this agreement represents a compromise, which means neither side got everything it wanted, but it rejects the accelerated pathway to a tax cut for billionaires that Republicans
Republicans saw it and it ensures the government can continue to operate at full capacity. Here's what passed. Funding stays at current levels until mid-March. It includes more than $100 billion in disaster aid, $10 billion in economic aid for farmers. The bill didn't contain a debt limit increase that President-elect Donald Trump demanded be included.
On Tuesday, a NASA spacecraft will try to fly closer to the sun than any object sent there before. The Parker Solar Probe was launched in 2018 to get a close-up look at the sun. Since then, it's flown straight through the sun's corona, that's the outer atmosphere that's visible during a total solar eclipse. Next, Parker is to pass within a record-breaking 3.8 million miles of the sun's surface.
That's seven times closer than any previous spacecraft. Parker, which is the fastest spacecraft ever built, will be zipping along at 430,000 miles an hour. It has a heat shield that can withstand up to 2,500 degrees, but mission managers won't know how Parker fared until days after the flyby, since the spacecraft will be out of communication range.
