If you're traveling, try to stay positive. I'm Daria Albinger, Fox News. This is a busy travel day, but that doesn't mean that it necessarily will be stress-free. Fox's Madison Scarpino reports. We are seeing some issues with flights nationwide.
There are already thousands of delays and over 160 cancellations. And a big portion of these travel disruptions are from severe storms. Tornadoes ripped across parts of the South over the past few days. There were extreme winds and hail, and that weather is expected to continue this weekend.
Highways will likely be backed up. The storms have already proven to cause major issues on the roads in places like Texas, where there have been several crashes, leaving people stuck on the side of the roads for hours waiting to get towed. The AAA is estimating that almost 120 million people will be traveling during the holidays. CDC says the first severe case of bird flu in the U.S. shows the virus has mutated.
Fox's Christina Coleman. - There is no evidence that the Louisiana patient has passed the virus to anyone else. Health experts say the genetic analysis from this patient indicates the virus evolved in a way that can make it more transmissible to humans. Symptoms include mild fever, cough, sore throat, and a runny or stuffy nose.
There have been more than 60 confirmed cases in humans across the U.S. Nearly all infected worked on dairy or poultry farms. The leader of Israel is having surgery. The Israeli prime minister suffered from a urinary tract infection this past week due to a problem with his prostate. The Jerusalem Post says doctors successfully treated that infection with an antibiotic, but his office issued a statement saying he'll undergo a procedure to remove his prostate.
Johns Hopkins University says the surgery generally takes about two hours and is performed under anesthesia.
