More security clearances yanked. I'm Jack Callahan, Fox News. President Trump is stripping security clearances from ex-Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, Andrew Weissman, who worked on the Justice Department's Russian collusion probe, New York's Attorney General Letitia James, and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Lawyer Mark Zayed and attorney Norm Eisen, who is representing FBI agents in a lawsuit against the Justice Department, also losing their security clearances. Hamas has released three more Israeli hostages in exchange for dozens of Palestinian prisoners, part of the ceasefire agreement.
The men are Ohad Ben Ami, Or Levi, and Eli Sharabi. They were released from the central city of Deir el-Bala. Ohad and Eli were kidnapped from the community of Be'eri, and Or was kidnapped from a bomb shelter near the Nova Music Festival. They were turned barely recognizable and clearly had lost significant amounts of weight while in Hamas captivity. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem visiting North Carolina, meeting with Hurricane Helene survivors and some of the volunteers. This box is Madison Scarpino reports. She says that she has really just learned about the resilience of people seeing the devastation in western North Carolina firsthand. But she says the number one goal is getting their advice about how the federal response could have been better and can be better going forwards.
She's also looking into potential political targeting from FEMA. And she also says that a lot of people were ignored by FEMA when they were kicked out of temporary housing. Again, she is also with FEMA's acting administrator, Cameron Hamilton, right now. Kristi Noem says that President Trump has actually set up a task force that will go forward and address how to better improve FEMA.
Hurricane Helene killed more than 100 people across several states. Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency have been critical of the U.S. Agency for International Development, but the effort to put USAID workers on leave has been blocked by a federal judge. 2,200 USAID workers aren't being placed on paid leave after all. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, sided with the two federal employee associations who asked the court to block the Trump administration's move to put
thousands of USAID workers on paid leave. They also want the court to compel the reopening of USAID's buildings, return the staffers to work, and restore funding. The Trump administration and Elon Musk, who is running the Department of Government Efficiency, have targeted USAID and on Thursday ordered furloughs for at least 8,000 staffers and contractors.
The lawsuit says the president does not have the authority to shut down an agency enshrined in congressional legislation. Tanya J. Powers, Fox News.
