Prosecuting the leakers. I'm Pam Cusso, Fox News. Two people within the Department of Homeland Security are accused of disclosing ICE operations amid the Trump administration's mass deportation plans. We plan to prosecute these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they've done. And we're going to continue to do all that we can to keep America safe.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in a video provided exclusively to Fox News. The names of the accused were not disclosed. A DHS spokeswoman says the accused are expected to face charges.
The White House is acting on Iran, fearing the Middle Eastern nation is even closer to its nuclear aspirations. President Trump pinning a letter to Iran's supreme leader seeking a new nuclear deal with Tehran. planning on using the insanity defense, something that they mentioned in a previous hearing. The defense claims they haven't received all of the evidence, including cell tower records that tracked Ruth's movements before the assassination attempt, while the DOJ claims it was handed over in December. The DOJ said they have 90 gigabytes of body cam footage and hundreds of law enforcement reports.
Once reviewed, they say it will be handed over to the defense. Now, Ruth's assault rifle was discussed. The defense asked Judge Eileen Cannon to test the firearm to see if it was functioning or could reach the intended range. Fox's Dana Marie McNichol, America's listening to Fox News. on United States taxpayers. That's Fox's Dana Marie McNichol. Two Newark, New Jersey police officers shot while on duty last night. Here's Fox's Madeline Rivera. The shooting happened at around 6.30 p.m. Eastern time yesterday. We're working to confirm more details about what led up to this shooting. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says the two Newark police officers were taken to University Hospital.
Sadly, the New Jersey State Policeman's Benevolent Association says one officer made the ultimate sacrifice. The other is currently in critical condition. The North Carolina officers are expected to recover. The leader of a notorious Mexican drug cartel has been put away by prosecutors. Ruben Osagara Gonzalez, known as El Menchito, was sentenced to life plus 30 years for his role in a major drug trafficking conspiracy.
