A little more hiring and a little more unemployment.

I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. That is in the February jobs report just out this morning. 151,000, the expectation was for 160,000. The unemployment rate goes up to 4.1%. Fox Business Network's Lauren Simonetti. The jobs created is an increase over January hiring, which was revised lower from 143,000 to 125. Not much reaction on Wall Street. Stock futures have been up modestly after another big sell off the Dow has plunged more than 1,200 points this week under a dark cloud of tariff and inflation worries.

This is very much about companies and countries that have ripped off this country, our country, our beloved USA.

And they're not going to be ripping us off anymore. President Trump is delaying a month most of the 25% tariffs imposed Tuesday on imports from Canada and Mexico, saying the Mexican president is doing more to stop the flow of the deadly drug fentanyl. He blames China for sending it, and those tariffs remain in place. China's foreign minister vowed today to keep retaliating with tariffs of their own. The president also says they're making progress in talks with Ukraine to end Russia's war, though Ukraine was hit with another barrage overnight of Russian drones and missiles targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, got support from European leaders at a Brussels summit. The European Union's promised fighter jets, increased defense spending and theoretical peacekeeping troops. Around 20 countries are reportedly promising some form of assistance.

Still, it's going to be hard for Europe to fill the military and diplomatic hole left by the Trump administration's hard line. Attention turns to U.S.-Ukrainian talks taking place next week. This is Fox's Jonathan Savage. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is going to lead those talks. Meanwhile, President Trump has told Fox's Maria Bartiromo in a Sunday Morning Futures interview that he sent a letter to Iran's supreme leader,

Worrying.

Some of California Governor Gavin Newsom's fellow Democrats are not happy this morning after what he had to say about a transgender rights issue. California Governor Gavin Newsom is opposing transgender athletes being allowed in women's and girls' sports.

The potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate told conservative activist Charlie Kirk, I think it's an issue of fairness. Speaking on the This is Gavin Newsom podcast, a recent New York Times Ipsos survey found nearly 80% of participants did not agree with giving biological males access to women's and girls' sports, even if they identify as female. President Trump recently signed an executive order prohibiting trans athletes from female sports. Tom Graham, Fox News. Speaking of podcasts,

A convicted murderer, famously featured in one who'd been serving a life sentence, is going to remain free in Maryland. A Baltimore Circuit judge says Adnan Saeed's time served will keep him from returning to prison. Judge Jennifer Schiffer said Saeed will be on supervised probation for five years.

His case and conviction in 2000 for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Heyman Lee, a year earlier, was widely followed on the Serial podcast, which questioned the evidence. Saeed maintained his innocence up until his 2022 release.

when prosecutors found flaws in his case and moved to reverse his conviction. Grinnell Scott, Fox News. Now a very different outcome for a different convicted murderer. The planned firing squad execution of condemned killer Brad Sigmund will be the first carried out in the U.S. in 15 years.

He was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend's parents in 2001 and chose the firing squad over two other methods in South Carolina, the electric chair and lethal injection. That's Fox's Tanya J. Powers. In about nine hours, Sigmund will be put in a chair, a hood over his head, a target placed on his chest, and he'll be shot to death. Idaho's considering making the firing squad its primary execution method. I'm Dave Anthony. Creating your own business is everything. Getting it registered and compliant, not so much.
