It was the longest presidential address before Congress on record. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News, an hour and 40 minutes. To my fellow citizens, America is back. And President Trump touted what he's done so far in his return. It has been nothing but swift and unrelenting action.
to usher in the greatest and most successful era. Citing his work to slash the size and cost of government and saying we're no longer woke. We've ended the tyranny of so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. The president also said his new tariffs will stop the U.S. from being ripped off. A new trade policy will also be great for the American farmer. I love the farmer. Yeah!
Though he did ask farmers to bear with him that there will be an adjustment period as Trump critics warn of more inflation and economic trouble. Democrats booed the president at times. Some held up signs like false and this is not normal. Congressman Al Green shouted at the president, waving his cane and then...
House Speaker Mike Johnson intervened. Members are directed to uphold and maintain decorum in the House and to cease any further disruptions. And Greene was escorted out, saying after... I've said I'll accept the punishment, but it's worth it. In the official Democratic response after the speech, Senator Alyssa Slotkin said... America wants change.
but there's a responsible way to make change and a reckless way. Warning. If he's not careful, he could walk us right into a recession. Border security is national security. Today, Secretary Hegseth and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard will join Vice President Vance on a trip to the border. The White House says Vice President Vance will travel to Eagle Pass, Texas today, where he'll tour an immigration processing facility, making him the highest-ranking member of the Trump administration to visit the border town. And you highlight that after President Trump's first full month in office, illegal immigration at the southern border has plummeted.
to the lowest level in decades, with just over 8,000 apprehensions in February, according to Customs and Border Patrol, a 96% drop from December of 2023, when CBP reported over 300,000 illegal encounters at the southern border under the Biden administration. And speaking of fentanyl...
