This is an iHeart Podcast. Are you going to deploy Marines in California? We'll see what happens. I mean, I think we have it very well under control. I think it would have been a very bad situation. It was heading in the wrong direction. It's now heading in the right direction. And we hope to have the support of Gavin because Gavin's the big beneficiary as we straighten out his problems. I mean, his state is a mess. You're listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
Good Tuesday morning. Welcome. It is the 47 morning update and we have one very,
Big story for you today. Gavin Newsom says it's not an insurrection in California, but he is wanting to sue the president of the United States of America. Suing Trump for what he says is a legal takeover of the California National Guard. Legal experts say Gavin Newsom's going to lose this battle, but it doesn't matter because he's decided to put politics over public safety. We're also going to talk about this spreading.
And is this organic? Or is this just another summer of rage being paid for by the radical left that we saw under Black Lives Matter? And finally, what is the president saying in response to all of this? You're going to hear his own words. It's the 47 Morning Update and it starts right now. Story number one. Anarchy and chaos continuing to erupt in LA and now coming to a city near you. In fact, it's almost
Most likely seen this before in the summer of rage with Black Lives Matter protests that popped up all over the country. Well, now in L.A., they're not going after the actual bad guys that are attacking law enforcement. No, no, no. They're now coming after Donald Trump himself.
and threatening to sue. The governor making this his political stand. Let me just remind you what the same Democrats were saying over the weekend. Elizabeth Warren was saying it was just, you know, peaceful protests. Kamala Harris referred to it as overwhelmingly peaceful protests. Cory Booker said it was a peaceful protest again on the Sunday morning shows. And Gavin Newsom said...
that the anarchy you're seeing right now on TV is, quote, under control. Even the Los Angeles Police Department line saying it was, quote, a weekend.
and, you know, without incident, quote, unquote. So how did it change so quickly? Where now California is saying they're suing Donald Trump and they're angry that Donald Trump set in the National Guard. Now, I want to play for you Donald Trump in his own words. Asked about two different things. One, about setting in the National Guard. And two, Gavin Newsom.
And California threatening to sue Donald Trump. That's right. They're not going after the rapists or the terrorists. They're not going after the human smugglers, the sex traffickers. They're not going after those that are selling fentanyl that is killing more Americans my age than anything else in this country's history. No, no, no. Instead, they're doing what Democrats do well. They're suing Democrats.
Donald Trump. When you were talking about unrest in American cities, you said, quote, we have to go by the laws. We can't call in the National Guard unless we're requested by a governor. What changed now? Why is this situation different to not consult with Governor Newsom about this? Well, the biggest change from that statement is we have an incompetent governor. So I talked about governors, but I didn't talk about he's an incompetent governor. Look at the job he's doing in California.
He's destroying one of our great states. And if I didn't get involved, if we didn't bring the guard in, and we would bring more in if we needed it, because we have to make sure there's gonna be law and order. You had a disaster happening, and they now admit it was a disaster. I watched the chief yesterday, he was a good man, by the way. And he said, well, we're lucky we did this because they were overwhelmed. You saw what was happening.
So we did the right thing, everybody agrees to that. But you have a governor who let the city burn down, didn't want water to be sent down to him. And I said billions of gallons of water. I wanted to do it in the first term, he wouldn't do it over. I don't know, they have environmental reasons, but there were no environmental reasons. I think it's just a political philosophy.
But it's lucky for the people in Los Angeles and in California that we did what we did. We got it just in time. It's still simmering a little bit. Primary crime is running for governor because he's done such a bad job. What he's done to that state is like what Biden did to this country. And that's pretty bad. It's the wrong philosophy.
Thousands, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, many of them prisoners, they're taking up your healthcare, they're taking up your space in schools, they're taking up your hospital. And in many cases, they're criminals and we have to do something about it and we're doing something about it. I wanna thank the incredible Patriots of ICE and Tom Holman, who has been incredible and Kristi Noem, likewise incredible.
the job they're doing. It's like an unforced error. There was no reason for this. 21 million people were allowed into our country. And many of those people were criminals. And it's a shame, it's a shame. But we're getting them out. And we're
I will say, I think it's a 95 to 5 issue, just like so many other issues, 95-5. And the Democrats lost an election in a landslide because they're on the wrong side of the issues. I mean, it's not even conceivable that somebody would do the kind of things that he did. And then you talk about projects. They want to build a train going from San Francisco to LA, and it's costing $1,000.
billions of dollars more than they thought it was going to cost. It's not even believable to bread and to people sitting here. Would you believe that a train it was going to cost X dollars and it might be 100 times X would have paid for this for
for about 50 million American children. You're right. 50 million American children instead of a three-mile train track that never got built. We could have put Lincoln in charge with no experience. He would have done a good job. I guarantee you that. All right, please, Peter. Mr. President, have you got
in an update from your negotiating thank you president trump so it seems like gavin newsom likes the attention that he's getting right now from you yeah it seems like he does um he if you look at recent history somebody who was running for president you who got arrested and had a mug shot you could make the argument that politically that wound up helping you are you worried at all at this
The talking about him getting arrested could be helpful to his political prospects, cuz a lot of people think he wants to be sitting right where you are. Well, in my case, it was a witch hunt and everybody knew it. And I was able to explain that during the process, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here right now. And it was a total witch hunt, it's proven to be a witch hunt and you see what's happened. In his case, it really is very obvious. You look at what's happened between the fires.
I could name ten things right now. We talk about the trains, we talk about all of the costs in California. You talk about all of the people that are flowing and destroying life for everyone else. So no, I don't think it's gonna help him. I think it's actually very bad for him.
And right around the time that we were walking in here, the governor and the state attorney general said that they're gonna sue you for sending the National Guard. And they're saying there's no invasion, there's no rebellion. The president is trying to manufacture chaos and crisis on the ground for his own political ends. Federalizing the California National Guard is an abuse of the president's authority under law. Well, it's interesting you watch the same clips as I did.
Cars burning all over the place, people rioting. And by the way, we stopped it. We were able to make it much better, but it still looked pretty bad. And in watching clips last night, people were saying this is really a big problem. And until we went in, if we didn't do the job, that place would be burning down just like the houses burned down. They were in big trouble last night, Peter, you know it. And the night before and the night before that. And I feel we had no choice. I don't wanna see
I don't wanna see happen what happened so many times in this country. I watched Minneapolis burn. I watched, look at what happened in so many different parts of California. You take a look at what happened in San Diego. There's so many different places where we let it burn. We want to be politically correct. We wanted to be nice. We want to be nice to the criminal.
And what you're doing is destroying the fabric of our life in this country. No, we did the right thing. We've been given credit by people that I would least suspect. I would say that some of the people that came in and said, thank goodness, they said, some of them, thank God that Trump got involved. And I'm very happy I got involved. And I think Gavin in his own way is probably happy I got involved. Yeah, go ahead, Peter.
What do you make of the fact that he says you want a civil war on the streets of America? No, it's just the opposite. I don't want a civil war. A civil war would happen if you left it to people like him. And I liked him. You know, I always got along with him. Never had a problem with him.
But he's grossly incompetent. One thing's for sure. Donald Trump is not backing down. He is going to protect American citizens, even in sanctuary cities. Which brings me to the second part of the conversation. What is going to happen next? It is very clear that the Democrats and their donors are going to help spread war.
All of this chaos to many other cities. As I'm doing the show right now, we are seeing protests pop up from Florida to Texas and pretty much now everywhere in between. There is no doubt that the Democratic Party is behind this and their mega donors. This is what they do. I also want to say this.
expect a lot more of this to happen in the days and the weeks ahead. Democrats believe that law and order should not take place in their sanctuary cities. In fact, they want this chaos so they can blame it on Donald Trump. Which brings me to Kristi Noem. Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary, came out and had this to say about what's
happening in L.A. Listen carefully to the word she chooses as she's explaining what's happening with the leaders there. Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely. And that's Sean. That's those are the people we're going after. I mean, those are our targets today. We had over four to five hundred targets. We were going after that were known members of gangs in L.A. that have been victimizing people for years. That Gavin Newsom has done absolutely nothing about that. Mayor Bass has done absolutely nothing about this. And I served with her in Congress before she was ever mayor.
And she is a train wreck of a mayor now that is endorsing these kind of activities, has allowed her city to be completely devastated with crime. And now she's holding press conferences talking about the fact that people have the right to peacefully protest and that they're a city of immigrants. Well, they're not a city of immigrants. They're a city of criminals.
because she has protected them for so many years. And so we're coming in and doing what the president has said that he's going to do, and he's going to allow people to live in a safe community again. And we're going to use the authority that he has as president of the United States to conduct these operations. And the more that people conduct violence against law enforcement officers, boy, we're going to hit them back. And we're going to hit them back harder than we ever have before. And we conducted more operations today
than we did the day before. And tomorrow we're going to double those efforts again. The more that they protest and commit acts of violence against law enforcement officers, the harder ICE is going to kind of come after them because these people are patriots. These ICE officers are people who are fighting for their country, and I'm so proud of them. They've acted with dignity. They've acted with grace under stressful situations.
And when they've been disrespected, they've responded appropriately under the law to make sure that they were treating every single individual the same and making sure that due process was followed and that they were doing their jobs. So this is an unfortunate situation that we see violence.
and instigators out there, but President Trump is really dedicated to bringing peace again. Kristi Noem is right. L.A. is not a city of immigrants. They are a city of criminals under the mayor's protection. And she protected them for so many years that this anarchy and chaos is now the reality. I will also say it again, and remember this moment.
The Democratic Party is going to do everything they can to turn L.A. into the test case. They're going to learn from what they've done and they're going to move this to other cities. They're going to act like it's organic. It is preplanned, well organized and paid for by the radical left that cares more about illegal immigrants than
than those in this country that are actually American citizens. And that's exactly who Donald Trump is trying to protect. Thank you for listening to the 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
