If you listen to Katz and Cosby yesterday, you heard the Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for the Department of Homeland Security, Tricia McLaughlin, really roast the Attorney General of New York State, Letitia James. Now, Ms. James has made an announcement that she is investigating the
certain law enforcement officials in New York State that cooperated with ICE, with Homeland Security. Why is she investigating? Well, not many people know this, but in the year 2017, then Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an unbelievable executive order
that restricts or bars New York state law enforcement from aiding and investigating, arresting or deporting illegal immigrants. Can you believe that? So Cuomo basically said, stand down. You're not to cooperate with the feds. Well, some counties like Oswego are saying, yeah, that's not happening. Nassau County, where I live, same thing.
That advice requests help, the local cops, the sheriff's office, whatever it may be, gives them the help. And now Letitia James is investigating those law enforcement people.
Here's what Ms. McLaughlin said on Katz and Cosby. New York Attorney General Letitia James is probing local cops in New York for misconduct for working with the Trump administration and ICE and Homeland Security, according to the New York Post. What do you make of that?
Rita, I just heard when listening to you all, so thank you for the breaking news. I mean, it's unbelievable. They have so many issues right now in New York City, such a great city. It's been flooded with illegal immigrants, sanctuary city policies, so that we cannot get these child molesters, get these rapists, get these convicted murderers, get these gang members out of the city. And for her to spend her time, resources, and New York taxpayer dollars on this is absolutely ridiculous.
But no one is surprised because Ms. James is a far left person and she doesn't hide it. It's not like she snuck into office. See, Cuomo, when he signed this executive order, he wasn't parading this stuff around. He just did all this far left stuff because that's what he felt his money men wanted. And, you know, he had Albany, very liberal. And so he just did it.
But James is totally different. She says, look, I am a far, far left public servant. So if you vote for me, that's what you're getting. I don't admire that because I think that the progressive movement is damaging New York State and the country in tremendous ways. But you can't accuse Letitia James of
of being furtive, word of the day, furtive, sly, she's up front. But the point is that she's using state resources to look at cops who were doing their jobs. So the federal law takes precedence over state law, and that's according to the Constitution. Because the Founding Fathers knew you could have a crazy state, and we do, California, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, you can have crazy states.
They simply will not obey Congress. The law is passed by Congress. And so in the Constitution, it is federal law trumps, pardon the pun, state law. So Letitia James has no case. Why is she wasting her time? Say she brought an indictment against somebody who helped her. She'd be thrown out. I mean, federal courts could step right in and stop it. But this is all for show.
So Ms. James believes that her career hinges on her far-left bona fides, that she wants to be governor someday. I don't think it'll ever happen, but that's what she wants. And she's going to continue to play to that crew, hoping that her political career will continue. It's worked so far for her, and that's why this is happening.
