Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly Update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater. Thanks, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America. Trouble in paradise. Unanimous decision. Ice milestone. And this quarterback playing for another year. It's all coming up. Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, Elon and the president. So Elon doesn't think that the big, beautiful bill cuts enough spending. That's to put it nicely.

So they had some back and forth on the X yesterday. Among other things, Elon said, without me, Trump would have lost the election. Dems would control the House and Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude. He later said, time to drop the really big bomb. Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That's the real reason why they haven't been made public. Have a nice day, DJT.

Trump said, I've always liked Elon. And so I was very surprised you saw the words he had for me. And he hasn't said anything about me that's bad. I'd rather have him criticize me than the bill because the bill is incredible. The Supreme Court in a nine nothing decision in favor of an Ohio woman who wanted to bring an employment discrimination claim against the state, alleging she was passed over for a job on the basis of her heterosexual orientation.

The plaintiff, Marlene Ames, alleges that her employer, the Ohio Department of Youth Services, denied her a promotion and later demoted her, in both cases selecting gay candidates who were less qualified. Her supervisor at the time was also gay. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and sexual orientation. They call this reverse discrimination, but it's just discrimination.

Now, the ruling means that Ames' lawsuit can move forward, but doesn't necessarily mean that she will succeed in the case against her former employer.

Arrests by ICE during Trump's first term topped 100,000. ICE recorded more than 2,000 arrests each day of the previous two days, a nice increase from the most recent daily average of 660 arrests during the first 100 days of Trump's term. Stephen Miller has pushed ICE for a minimum of 3,000 arrests every day.

ICE has been holding around 54,000 immigrants detained in detention facilities across the country. The Trump administration is a part of the big, beautiful bill asking Congress to give ICE billions of dollars to have additional deportation officers and expand detention capacity to hold 100,000 individuals at any given point.

Aaron Rodgers will join the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 41-year-old quarterback has confirmed this decision. He was let go by the New York Jets at the end of last season, was considering retiring. Reports are the contract is $20 million. Rodgers will play his 21st season in the NFL. And who is the first game against? The Jets. I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Faith. Yes, I run my own news agency, so I have access to information far beyond most folks. But the main reason TV media fails me is because it's incredibly lazy. While in the Far East at the end of May, I watched CNN in the evening because that was my only source for American news. No Fox, no NBC. CNN has the overseas market locked up.

Because of the 12-hour time difference, I was consuming CNN's morning program. It featured skilled broadcasters. They were good. But the presentation was mostly biased and foolish. Here's what the network does. It selects a topic, say Trump's battle with Harvard. Then it brings in a guest who bashes the president without challenge or even interruption.

Over and over again this happens. Liberal guests bloviating while the anchor naps. And I don't blame the news person. It's incredibly boring, predictable, a waste of time. This lazy formula is not working as CNN's viewership has dramatically declined. Yet the producers seem satisfied because every day it's the same thing.

Why? I don't know. It's not difficult to mix it up with different points of view. Yes, CNN is a left-wing network. Yes, it's failing. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. that propaganda has adversely impacted our younger generation many believe that communism is a wonderful form of government and the u.s should convert to it i don't see it that way colleen i don't think there are many communists in america there are some socialists but they're basically people who don't want to compete they're lazy people um the propaganda out of china is ignored by young americans americans have no idea what's going on over there generally speaking

Well, it doesn't really matter, and I don't mean this to be flippant or rude. Whether you trust them or not, Don, I don't trust them. Who would trust them? But there's no plan B. You either make deals with them or the world descends into violent chaos. That's it.

All you need to do is look at the promises they made to Great Britain over Hong Kong and we see how the Chinese communist word means nothing. Again, same answer. There's no plan B. You get a deal and you hope the deal works out well for China and they don't go back on it. That's it.
