What did he do? A mystery witness ghosts the prosecution. Will they find her before the end of the state's case? This as Diddy blames the stylist. Look what y'all made me do after an incredibly vicious beating. I'm Nancy Grace. This is Crime Stories. I want to thank you for being with us.

- Wait, are you telling me that Sean Combs was in London and threw a fit because he didn't have the right kind of ketchup? - Did he would request jello and applesauce? Apparently he put applesauce on his cheeseburgers. - He was particular about the temperature of the room. - So I've got Sean Combs whining that the ketchup in London is different. - It's different. - And now you're telling me that he travels with a thermometer.

You heard me right, Nancy. You heard me right. Joining me at the courthouse right now, investigative reporter Lauren Conlon from Pop Crime TV. Lauren, thank you for being with us. Who is Deontay Nash? Can you summarize his testimony so far? Sure. So Deontay Nash, the celebrity stylist and Cassie's very close friend, finished his cross-examination this morning, which was done by Xavier Donaldson.

And Xavier Donaldson did point something out. He pointed out some inconsistencies in his testimony, specifically about the eye gash that Cassie got at her apartment when Deontay jumped on his back and Mia jumped on his back, Diddy's back, to stop him from doing this. Deontay testified that while Cassie was on the ground and she was bleeding from her eye, Diddy continued to kick her and beat her. However, Donaldson pointed out that in all circumstances,

His previous meetings with the government, this was never mentioned and it was a big deal. So why did he never mention it? Donaldson also pointed out some text messages from Nash to Diddy saying, I love you. And this was well after 2018 when he stopped working for him as a stylist. He said, I love you, brother. Another text message said, you know, how do I get an invite to your party?

So, you know, we're seeing we're seeing a lot of this during cross-examination of of many witnesses. They continued a relationship with Diddy well after they stopped being employed and they seem to want this relationship as well. Again, Deontay Nash did seem to elicit some laughter, even from the judge this morning. He was very sassy.

You know, Donaldson would say, how are you today, sir? And he would say blessed. And again, he would kind of jump ahead in his testimony in which the judge was like, OK, you have to stop. You have to stop. You can't you can't just it's not a free for all here. So he definitely offered a little bit of lightness amid all of the darkness that we've been hearing. Lauren Cullen, who is Mia?

According to her, she is the victim of a violent sex assault by Sean Combs. Could you give me a summary of Mia's testimony? Mia was Diddy's former assistant and director of marketing at Revolt TV. She was one of Cassie's closest friends, described them as sisters, and actually said they're still friends to this day. And, oh, we learned about why the jury was asked about Mike Myers.

Mia was a former personal assistant to Mike Myers. And she described those hours being from 10 to 6 regularly. She said occasionally she would get a call on the weekend from Mike Myers to watch his dog or something like that. So when she took the job as the personal assistant to Sean Combs, it was a real shell shock. And these are my words, not hers. But she described that her first day of work, she didn't go to sleep. She shuddered.

showed up in the morning. She was sent to his New Jersey house to do some kind of inventory. She got back to the bad boy office around 10 p.m. And then she was told to go to the studio to meet Diddy. And she describes not going home until the next day after 1 p.m. And she chalked it up as being her first day kind of being on trial.

But then she described another instance where she did not sleep for five days straight. She described taking time-released Adderall to help her stay awake. But at one point, she said she just lost her equilibrium. Her body kind of broke down. She cried uncontrollable tears, and he finally sent her home to sleep. She also discussed that Cassie was...

she, Mia, they were terrified of Diddy and punishment that they would receive if they did not listen. She described it as being terrifying and unpredictable. We also heard the story about Cassie gashing her eye on the bed for the third time. We previously heard it from Deontay Nash, Cassie's stylist and best friend, Cassie herself, and now Mia. And while each story does change a bit, the

The main event is the same. Diddy threw Cassie against the bed and there was a gash in her eye and she had to go to a plastic surgeon. We've seen Diddy be stoic at some points with the assistance. He would nod his head yes. He would laugh a little bit.

I've seen him shake his head like this. No twice when it came to Mia and her testimony and one of those times was when Mia mentioned a sexual assault. I specifically watched him

shake his head no. What was Mia's demeanor on the stand? Mia's demeanor on the stand, she had her head down. She was quiet. She spoke low. And she honestly gives me this timid vibe. We're not supposed to go into too much detail about Mia. We had a speech from the judge because she is using a pseudonym. And

We were told that her testimony is no important than any other testimony. Lauren Conlon, I believe that Mia's testimony is critical in its own right, but possibly more important, it corroborates or bolsters

everything Cassie Ventura described. The point is Ventura was not in this willingly, especially toward the end. I mean, she even threatened to jump off a balcony if she had to go back to a freak off.

And that's how I see Mia as corroborating everything Ventura said, which shows sex trafficking. Lauren Collin joining us at the courthouse now joining us, Sydney Sumner, Crime Stories investigative reporter. The hiding at the hotel, Sydney Sumner, that came from Deontay Nash, the stylist.

where he had observed a vicious, vicious beating of Cassie. And he actually, and I think he got his start with Sean Combs. I'll circle back to that, Sidney. But he tried to protect Cassie Ventura. He's afraid that Combs is going to kill her. Tell us what happened, Sidney. Well, Nancy, what we learned from Deontay Nash is that

Combs burst into Cassie's LA apartment and told her to get out of his house. We don't know exactly what spurred that argument, but Nash told us that Combs physically shoved both of them out of that LA apartment. But then a few minutes later, as they were driving away, Combs called Cassie and told them to pull over.

Combs approached Cassie's window, and at that point, he threatened to release her sex tapes. Nash responded, hey, that's not a big threat.

because he's in them too, right? So he can't use that against you. And that's when Cassie first told Nash that no, Combs isn't in those sex tapes. It's me and other men. So from there, Nash was going to take Cassie back to his home, but he gets a call from his boss who tells him, hey, shut

Sean, come just ask for your address. I don't know why, but I wanted to let you know. So he looks at Cassie, tells her to get out of the car and take a cab to the nearest hotel. So she does that.

Nash gets back to his house. Just a few minutes later, Combs, his chief of staff, and a security guard show up at his house, demand to know where Cassie is. They search his home, and when Nash's phone rings, it has a caller ID from a nearby hotel, so

So, Combs quickly puts those pieces together and demands that Nash go get Cassie from this hotel room. So Cassie has stayed here before, Nash has stayed there with her, they're familiar with the hotel staff, so Nash is able to convince staff to let him and Combs' chief of staff at the time, Tony Fletcher, go up to the room. And when Cassie sees Tony Fletcher's face,

He freaks out. She's immediately terrified because she knows Combs has found her. So Tony's like, hey, Combs is downstairs. We need you to come out and come meet him. He wants you to come with him. And at that point is when Cassie allegedly threatened to go over the balcony instead of coming down to go see Combs. You know, Dr. Bethany Marshall joining me, renowned psychoanalyst out of Beverly Hills, says,

while Capricorn Clark, who worked for Sean Combs, is on the stand basically trashing her, saying she's a no-talent user. Yeah, I don't know where that came from. You know Jealous, he's a very ugly serpent.

That's a whole nother can of worms. But Dr. Bethany, according to Deontay Nash, as reported by Lauren Conlon, Cassie gets this injury on her forehead when Diddy beating her so badly she fell on a bed frame and ripped her forehead open. He also described an incident where they had to hide at a hotel. That's what Sidney's telling us about right now. And

Combs gets 95 MPH. It reminds me when he jumped in the car. Let's go get sugar. Let's go kill Cuddy.

Gets in the car, 95 MPAs driving around trying to find Cassie. He sees a phone call come in on somebody else's phone, figures out it's a hotel. And they go to the hotel. Somehow, once again, he breaks the rules and finds out which hotel room is hers and sends his hench people to go get her. And she would rather jump off the balcony than

then go back to comes. Yet people like Philip Dube joining us tonight and says she was there willingly. I don't get it. She'd rather jump off a balcony? Dr. Bethany? What's going to happen is that he is taking her to be raped by other men. He's dragging her into the scene of a crime. He's offering her things and he's taking them away. She's

is completely under his control. Nancy, I've been following the witness testimony very, very carefully. And every time he stalks her, beats her, intrudes into her life, it's because she is developing some autonomy, a very slight autonomy, or she's enjoying somebody. Maybe she's with Nash. You know, they're cooking dinner or a girlfriend spending the night at her house. I think in this particular incident,

She was about to perform at a music festival. So every time she just had an ounce of independence, he would just beat her within an inch of her life.

Who wants to stay alive in a situation like that? I think any of us would become suicidal. In a sense, Nancy, taking her own life was her only way out. And we saw this with Virginia Jeffries, who recently died, that life just became unbearable at some point. It's a miracle that she's still alive, quite frankly. Well, I'm glad you said that. Joining me now, in addition to Dr. Bethany and Sydney Sumner,

The trauma and lethality factors that they face from their abusers and the johns, the people they're forced to have sex with, that's also causing them pain. Sometimes their only way out is death, and so the balcony seems pretty appealing. And in this case, you've got a situation where every time she tries to leave, he finds her. So that chase, that stalking, the pimp, or her boyfriend,

finding her, she doesn't have a way out. And then what we have here, we have a pattern of activities. We see this over and over again. And then we see that enterprise, other people that are involved. She doesn't have, she can't just leave because she doesn't own the door, he does.

And he has people that are there on each side of the door. So there is nowhere else for her to go. I don't see him. When I look at Sean Combs, I'll rear back in that courtroom, which is a whole nother study in nonverbal communication. He reminds me of those lions that you see, you know, pictures of. They're all reared back dozing while the lioness has to go out and bring in all the food and take care of the children. He's like kicked back, totally relaxed, large and in charge.

That said, Crispin, in my mind, when I look at Combs, I see every pimp I ever prosecuted. Evil, dangerous, violent, brutal. And at one point after he gave Cassie an incredibly brutal beating, he goes, look what y'all made me do. That's such BS. He's no different than a thug, Crispin. Yeah, I mean, you're starting to look into the life of who did he really, really do?

was and is. It's just, it's beyond. And the world is starting to see who he is. And the world is starting to see

All the people, all the henchmen that worked for him, where were they to protect Cassie? And that's a whole nother layer, Chris, but I'm glad you said that because everybody would just stand around and watch her getting beaten and do nothing. So it was kind of reinforced by the do nothings. So Philip DeBay joining me, veteran trial lawyer out of the L.A. jurisdiction.

How can you keep saying that she was in it for the money and the fame and that she wanted to be in freak offs? I truly believe that she was setting up this fantasy risque lifestyle for him. For whatever reason, it could have been because she was a hopeful starlet herself. She was a monkey sort of R&B performer. And what better way to describe

make a name for yourself and break into the business than to hook up with Sean Diddy Combs. The problem is, I'll give you that. He is not a Vienna choir boy. I wouldn't set a plate for him at Seder time. But to be fair, being a brute, being a batterer does not mean you're a racketeer.

And that ultimately is what the prosecution has to prove. And I'm telling you now, Nancy, you watch this. They're falling short. I know you don't want to hear it, but the truth be told, this is over filed. I don't want to hear it because it's not true. Well, of course, I would defend him on these charges. In fact, I would even do it pro bono. OK, fine.

Fine, you defend him. OK, back to Lauren Conlon joining us at the courthouse. I'm a little surprised that so many because so many people have turned their backs on Cassie Ventura. And now we've got the missing mystery witness we know to be Gina, who reportedly was forced to have two abortions by Sean Combs. That Gina has ghosted the prosecution. But this guy, Deontay Nash, didn't

Didn't Sean Combs actually give him his start in the fashion business? He was an intern at Bad Boy, and he got him to say that he wasn't exactly sober for some of his meetings with the government. He was high for some of them. You know, I find that very persuasive, Dr. Bethany Marshall, because...

Sean Combs gave him his start, yet he was willing to put his life on the line and try to protect Cassie Ventura while so many other people did nothing, stood by and let it happen. You know, in situations like this, we discover who truly has a moral fiber. He had a moral fiber.

He cared about Cassie. He became a friend of Cassie's. All these other people were aligned with P. Diddy. We could say maybe a few of them were frightened, but by and large, there was so many resources in that city. They could have called the police. They could have called 911. They could have called the National Domestic Abuse Hotline. So many resources. Nobody used them to protect Cassie.

You know, Lauren Collins said something else interesting. She said that, yes, Sean Combs gave him his start, but she also reported that he confessed in some of his meetings with the government he was high, high as a kite for some of those meetings. Well, at least he admitted it and didn't lie because Philip Dubé, I know, love nothing more than catching a liar on the stand. You can be a sinner. Sure. Go get high.

I'm sure there are people on this jury that are not afraid of a big fat doobie, or at least their middle-aged sons sitting at home watching TV in their basement, probably high right now. So that's not that shocking. But if Deontay Nash had lied about it, he would have been tarred and feathered and rode out of town, right? Absolutely. Well, I'm going to take him at his word.

I believe that, you know, even though he's a stylist, he does more than just set hair with Dippity-Doo and Aquanet. I believe that he saw everything that he testified to. I genuinely mean it. What did you just say about Dippity-Doo and Aquanet? Who's that stylist or hairdresser? What did you say?

Are you mocking him because you think he could be gay? Dippity-doo and aquanet? No. Who the hell are you to poke fun at him? He probably makes more money in a year than you and me put together, Dubay. Probably. But not anymore because the Diddy days are over. So he's just a West Side stylist. I'm sure he makes a handsome... You think Diddy's his only client? I doubt that. I don't know.

I doubt that. And I don't like your doopity-doo comment. You know where you can shove that. Another thing, you know, Crispin, you in your capacity with DOJ and more, and I have put witnesses on the stand and you, you've, you know, they know what their testimony is going to be.

And then they flub and you go, OK, let me refresh your recollection, Mr. Crispin. Could you review States Exhibit number three? And they go, yeah, I don't know what that is. OK, so apparently that's what happened with Deontay Nash. So, you know, that's not the end of the world. Yeah, well, that wouldn't be the first time that that's happened to a government witness. And the fact that they interviewed this guy while he was high.

To me, as a former agent, that's a problem. I would probably wait until he's not high. And that would be one of my questions in the beginning. Are you under the influence of any drugs, narcotics or alcohol at this point? Because anything he tells me probably isn't going to be 100 percent the truth. And I need 100 percent of the truth if I plan on moving forward to take something to a grand jury.

Crime Stories with Nancy Grace. We are just learning that the president has granted two serious pardons. Is Sean Combs in line for a presidential term?

Pardon. Listen. Many believe Sean Combs rushing the legal process on the belief there may be a presidential pardon waiting for him. Say his allies cozying up to presidential staffers since Trump's reelection. Combs relatable to Trump as they've been friendly over the years and both insist if sexual assault allegations are false. But given the seriousness of the charges, a pardon or commutation for Combs would be a PR nightmare for the president. OK, PR nightmare. OK.

Does Trump care about that? This on the heels of the Chrisley scandal.

of the Mr. and Mrs. Chrisley. Sidney Sumner, how much were the Chrisleys convicted of defrauding? How many millions of dollars did they rip off? 30 million, Nancy. That's a big number. Okay, $30 million. And here's my concern as it relates to Sean Combs.

We now know that in the last hours, a presidential pardon goes out to NBA Youngboy and Larry Hoover. Who are they? NBA Youngboy was in a federal pen for illegal firearm possession. And according to his lawyer, a renowned criminal defense attorney that I've sparred with in the past, Drew Finling states that

His client, NBA Youngboy, was pardoned without even asking. He did not even submit a formal request. Oh, OK. But more concerning, in addition to NBA Youngboy, would be Larry Hoover.

I hope that doesn't ring a bell to many people, but he is the founder of the Chicago's Gangster Disciples, serving six life sentences to murder and conspiracy. His case got attention. Here's the connection. After a 22 benefit concert by Kanye West and Drake. See where I'm going with this? So Hoover, the founder of

of the Chicago Gangster Disciples Gang, a notoriously violent gang, was the subject of a benefit that was performed by Drake and Kanye West, who's a complete idiot. West is anyway. So now we've got the rap and hip-hop world involved in Larry Hoover. So, okay, Sidney Sumner, now two more controversial pardons.

And the word is that Sean Combs is basically, hey, can we skip the trial part and get on to the pardon? Yeah, many people believe that that's what Sean Combs is thinking throughout this entire trial, why he pushed for a speedy trial. But I don't think Trump could do this with the seriousness of these charges and not be

mowed down by angry mobs, deservedly so. Now, here's the thing. When you say a crime of this serious nature, here's my concern. And, you know, I hate politics. I don't get into politics because they make me nauseous. But Robert Crispin, the founder of the Chicago Gangster Disciples Gang, linked to murder and conspiracy charges,

That's serious. How much more serious can a charge be other than murder? And I'm not asking you to wade into a political morass. I'm talking about the possibility based on a track record. You've got the Chrisleys who it's a, it's a done deal. They were convicted of $30 million defrauding. Now you've got me, a young boy,

And now you've got Larry Hoover. I'm very concerned after all this. Could there be a presidential pardon of Combs if there's ever a conviction? Well, I will tell you, Nancy, that I think like everybody else, I'm shocked about Hoover's pardon. The other two rappers, kind of the timing is a little suspect. The fact that

Diddy Combs' entourage has been cozying up to that particular political party is a concern from a government guy because the government is putting-

And that's how she got to the Trump people to get the pardon for her mom and dad? Yes, that is correct. And we know that allies, so-called allies of Diddy, are apparently cozying up to Trump's staff. But reports are saying that it hasn't made it to Trump's ears, and they're not sure it ever will. Okay, guys, off politics and a potential pardon, and I want to get to a missing witness.

a witness that has apparently ghosted the state. She's in the indictment. We know about her. It's Gina reportedly subjected to two forced abortions by Sean Combs. Now that takes a lot of backbone to stand up the feds and not show up pursuant to a subpoena. If she did get a subpoena,

Who is Gina? Sidney Sumner, who is she? Gina is another girlfriend of Diddy and she was dating the mogul, the rapper, at the same time as Cassie from 2014 to roughly 2019. So that's for the

five-year relationship. It was fairly serious. But the whole time, she was completely aware that Holmes was also dating Cassie, and he reminded Gina of that over and over. She says he constantly belittled her and used Cassie against her, but she really fell for him, and she describes falling for him because he told her he loved her. It was kind of a love bombing. Like,

They had only known each other for a few months and Combs came on really strong. So she felt they had a real connection. And like Cassie, she stayed despite years of abuse. We are live at the courthouse. Sean Combs, a.k.a. Diddy, a.k.a. Puff, Puffy, Puff Daddy, love.

and many, many more monikers on trial in a multi-count federal indictment. At this hour, a missing Diddy witness mysteriously vanishes days before the trial, and her allegations are some of the most disturbing yet.

Victim number three, as laid out in the indictment, is reportedly Gina Huynh. And why has she disappeared? I think I know. Listen. He like stomped on my stomach like really hard and I like took the wind out of my breath. I couldn't even, I couldn't breathe. And he kept, but he kept hitting me.

That from Unwind with Tasha Kay. Joining me in All-Star Panel, Sidney Sumner, you believe that victim number three, reportedly Gina Huynh, will never testify.

Why?

Victim 3 wants to testify under her name, of course not revealing her name at that time, but they changed their minds and said, "We don't need this alias anymore." And then as we went to trial, we suddenly couldn't find Victim 3 anymore. So it's a very odd progression of events from wanting to come out, wanting to tell her story, wanting to own her own identity on the stand, and then vanishing.

Crime Stories with Nancy Grace. To Rachel Fisher joining me, anti-trafficking expert, I had the same thing happen in a child sex trafficking case. The victim went missing. The trial had already started. Okay. The trial had already started. The next morning was the victim had done opening statements and the victim disappeared. Okay.

So I shuffled the witnesses and started with other witnesses. And that night, my investigator and I were out till five o'clock in the morning and we found the girl and she came in and testified and she was petrified. But she testified and there was a conviction. The perps got 20 to life behind bars.

So this is not uncommon. And I find it really interesting. I'll circle back to Bethany Marshall on this, that she was very bold at the get go saying, I don't need a pseudonym. I don't need a Jane Doe. I'm going to testify under my own name. And then she,

She does a runner. It's very common for cases like this, especially with trafficking. We don't see a lot of these cases going up because they're afraid to testify in front of their abuser, in front of their trafficker. And in a case like this, it's even more so that fear of retaliation, the fear of not being believed. But in a situation where there's more than one person, even if the defendant that they're looking at while being on the stand goes away,

They have a whole enterprise behind them. They have security guards, they have their goons on the outside that will find them. And that is a real thing, especially when you experienced it and you hear others talking about it. - And we've seen that Rachel Fisher unfold in this case. Dr. Bethany Marshall, over and over again, we hear about a bodyguard, a hench person,

working for Sean Combs, going and physically dragging Cassie Ventura back. And what the state's doing now, and they did it with Deontay Nash, they've done it with Capricorn Clark, who seemingly has some beef against Cassie Ventura, whatever. Because when Cassie's in the hospital giving birth, Capricorn Clark's on the stand trashing her talent. That said, it happens over and over and over. The alleged victim gets dragged back.

I tell people all the time that a subpoena is not a PSA, it's not a save the date, it's not an invitation, it's not a flyer to a block party. It is compulsory process.

unless you are going to claim Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, you've got to testify. If you don't testify when you're on the stand, you can be held in contempt and put in jail for up to 30 days in the state system. So if the witness, as you accurately stated the law, if the witness is afraid they're going to incriminate themselves, the judge can immediately give them immunity.

Right. Then they have no reason legally not to testify and they can be forced to testify. Isn't that true? Yes, absolutely. I mean, once you are given a full grant of immunity, either through prosecutors or through the court judicially, then you've got to take the stand. Otherwise, you can be jailed for contempt.

Now, there is a split of authority in state and federal court that even if you show up, but you refuse to testify in a domestic violence case, the court cannot jail you for refusing to testify.

On the theory that they don't want the witness or the victim to have to relive the trauma. So the fact that they have appeared and not faulted on the subpoena will save them. But whether or not they can be forced to testify. I hear you. I hear you about domestic violence, but I want to get to can Mia be forced in?

If she's given immunity, can she be forced to testify? But what I'm seeing is a pattern to Robert Crispin. We see fingerprint cards critical to showing who conducted the firebomb on Kid Cudi's car. We see the fingerprint cards disappear from within the LAPD.

This is now the element that they don't want to get to the jury. And let's step back a little farther. We're not talking about calling the cops and getting the stuff done. How about when he kicked her in the stomach?

What happened? Did he kill that child when he did that? How hard was that? Did she go to the hospital? Did she have to have the abortion? Because we had a heartbeat at the doctor's office 10 days before that. He kicks her in the stomach. And now we go a day later, two days later, and the kid's dead. Is that really why she had the abortion? Because even in her own interview, when she was on that show, she says, you know, I don't know what I want to do yet. She hasn't made a decision.

She didn't make that decision to get rid of that kid yet. That element, they don't want that to the jury. In the last hours, Mia, pseudonym on the stand, her passport has been shown to the jury so they know her identity. The rest of the world does not. That's how serious this is. It makes you understand why Gina Hohen may not want to appear describing a sex assault by Sean Combs.
