Fox Weather. I'm Fox Weather.
I'm Fox weather meteorologist Kendall Smith, and here's the latest from America's Weather Center. We're tracking dangerous weather across the central Gulf Coast today, where widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring numerous instances of flash flooding. A moderate or level three out of four risk for excessive rainfalls in place for southeastern Louisiana, with a broader slight level two out of four risk stretching across the region. Saturated ground from overnight storms is only making the situation worse, and with anomalous Gulf moisture fueling more storms, it's a setup for heavy, long-duration rainfall.
Further west, parts of South Texas could see severe thunderstorms with a threat of large hail thanks to daytime instability. Meanwhile, the pattern stays unsettled across the southeast and Tennessee valleys where additional storms could trigger localized flooding. Above average temperatures continue across the northern plains and western U.S. with 70s and even some 90s possible through interior California.
