Fox weather. I'm Fox weather meteorologist Jane Menard with the latest from America's Weather Center. I hope you enjoyed the warmth this afternoon. We were hanging on to that spring feel for another day after a pretty comfortable week. We are expecting temperatures to come crashing tonight. Temperatures dropping about 20 to 30 degrees in a short period of time means as you wake up Sunday morning in the northeast, it is going to feel like the single digits and the teens.
Now, next week is a big one, though. We do have a sprawling spring storm. It moves on to the West Coast tomorrow, brings some mountain snow and some rain. But as it strengthens through the plains, we have a severe weather threat that emerges on Tuesday and Wednesday. For folks in the mid-Mississippi Valley, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, up into Tennessee, on Tuesday, there is a heightened risk for damaging wind, large tornadoes, and hail.
