I'm Fox weather meteorologist Kiana Lewis and here's the latest from America's Weather Center. We're watching as an Arctic air mass continues to plunge across the central US this week with high confidence for a widespread record breaking cold once again. The timeframe is going to be from today through at least Friday.

with numerous records being broken all across the plains. This also will make its way down towards the Gulf Coast as sub-freezing temperatures will take over heading through this week as well. That being said, we also have some snow that's breaking out across the plains as well, and it is expected to expand in coverage through the overnight hours tonight. Moderate to heavy snow capable of dropping one to two inches of snow per hour will be in place across parts of Kansas, northern Oklahoma, and the Ozarks, as well as Arkansas.
