Hi there, I'm Fox weather meteorologist Craig Herrera with the latest from America's Weather Center. One system bringing some heavy snow and gusty winds to New England, especially across Maine. On the southern side of that, a dry wind extends down through the northeast. New York hitting up to 48 today, but feeling a lot colder than that with wind gusts up to 40 mph, especially for the morning hours. DC 53 and breezy. We're also getting the last of this system, bringing the snow for places like Iowa to Nebraska and all up to 12 inches of fresh snow. Also bringing some scattered showers to the southwest.

Some of that rain and snow makes it to the Midwest and central Appalachians as we go through this afternoon and evening, even into the mid-Atlantic. Fire concerns this weekend for the southern plains from southern New Mexico through Texas. East Texas will get some scattered showers and thunderstorms Saturday into Sunday going across the Gulf Coast states. Primary concern will be hail, but we could see a few tornadoes and gusty winds.
