Fox Weather. Hi there, I'm Fox Weather Meteorologist Craig Herrera with the latest from America's Weather Center. A stalled front over Florida bringing more rain right through the weekend with 3 to 5 inches of rain for central and southern Florida by the time we get into Saturday. The Atlantic Basin a little quiet for right now, but that's expected to pick up in the coming weeks and the eastern Pacific is very active. We're watching an area that could form near the Hawaiian Islands. Certainly going to bring some heavy rain and big waves this weekend no matter what happens.
If it does get the name in the eastern Pacific, it'll get Hector. If it moves just to the west and it's in the central Pacific, it'll get the name Honay. Also watching the monsoon pick up over the Four Corners region. Heavy rain and big gusty winds over places like Utah and eastern Colorado. Those storms come with some hail. We're also watching those thunderstorms pop up over portions of Nevada that come with a lot of wind but not a lot of rain. So fire concerns there if we get a lot of lightning. The heat over central and south Texas continues. Heat index values feeling more like 110.
