I'm meteorologist Ari Sarsalari and here's the latest from America's Weather Center. Be prepared for some fairly heavy rain at times along the Gulf Coast over the next couple of days. It really doesn't kick in until Sunday. We'll start to see some rain developing in Texas, Louisiana. Overnight Sunday into Monday morning we'll get some rain in southern Alabama and Mississippi and then it moves into Florida on Monday. Luckily we're not expecting severe weather with this. Just be prepared for a pretty good amount of rain. The Pacific Northwest has a pretty significant atmospheric river event that's getting going as we speak.

Could see some flooding on Sunday and Monday. And again, this is not going to be a California problem. This is like a Washington, Oregon, Idaho issue. Again, watch out for some flooding because it's going to be some very heavy rain. And then apart from that, the rest of the country gets a nice break from all that wintry weather. And we're actually going to warm things up really nicely over the next few days. I know it's pretty chilly, especially in the morning.
