Fox weather. I'm Fox weather meteorologist Stephen Morgan with the latest from America's Weather Center. A series of storms have generated incredible winds and very dry conditions, feeling a fire threat in the southern plains that will continue right through Saturday. The zone with the greatest risk remains in eastern New Mexico and parts of Texas. A very dry weather.
Winter is partially to blame for these extreme fire conditions. Overall, temperatures are going to be warming, but with that warming trend, severe weather is going to return to areas hit pretty hard on Saturday. The risk, while lower, will be for parts of Missouri, mainly central Missouri, close to Columbia and Jefferson City. Even Kansas City, where large hail will be a possibility. But on Sunday, that risk expands southward and increases. The focus will be in the mid-south from east Texas to Arkansas, Louisiana, even Mississippi.
Biggest threats appear to be large hail and damage. Get the latest weather updates anytime, anywhere. Download the Fox Weather app at foxweather.com.
