I'm Fox weather meteorologist Stephen Morgan with the latest from America's weather center. Storms are set to be loud across the midsection of the country through the weekend with spring severe weather really trying to turn it up a notch. Storms from Thursday produced very large hail the size of softballs and baseballs through parts of eastern Nebraska and Iowa. That threat's going to evolve, even expand from the upper Midwest down into the southern plains. In addition to that, the flood threat will be a growing concern, especially in the Missouri Ozarks.

But truly, even with a stormier weather pattern, the wildest ride has been the temperatures this week, a spring fling from above average to below. The Big Apple had a big chill this week, but that was short-lived. And while that slightly cooler air lingered Thursday, a temperature rebound is expected by the weekend.
