I'm Fox weather meteorologist Steven Morgan with the latest from America's Weather Center. Late June kicking off the monsoon in the desert southwest. It's roughly a three month stretch in the summer where several southwestern states like Arizona and New Mexico received some beneficial rain as long as the atmospheric conditions are just right. And fortunately this week.
featuring the first solid chance of some tapping into that monsoonal moisture. In Albuquerque, New Mexico, hot and dry weather is finally going to give way to afternoon storms for much of the week. It seems the best shot at rain is going to arrive around midweek, but every day could feature storms from extreme eastern Arizona through New Mexico and even into west Texas. There is a scenario where too much rain could fall this week, leading to a flash flood concern.
