Fox weather. I'm meteorologist Nick Koster. Here's the latest from America's Weather Center. Well, Monday going to grab major weather headlines as severe weather is expected across the upper Midwest right through the afternoon. Supercells are expected in parts of western Iowa and western Minnesota with damaging winds, large hail and strong long track tornadoes expected.
And May will start the same way as April, with more severe storms and potential flooding in the plains. Right now, the greatest risk appears to be from north Texas into the Arklatex, where conditions will be very favorable for storms Wednesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, extreme fire conditions are expected across central and southern New Mexico into far west Texas for today.
Dry air, strong winds, and warm temps will combine to create a dangerous environment for wildfires to start and spread. Get the latest weather updates anytime, anywhere.
