Fox weather. Good morning. Fox weather meteorologist Michael Estimay with you in America's weather center. It's a cold front draped across the upper Midwest into the plain states that will ignite heavy showers and strong to severe thunderstorms this evening. Kansas City, Omaha, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Des Moines, Iowa will get caught up in the crosshairs with damaging winds and hail being the main threats from the system. Keep an eye to the sky as you're out and about this evening.
And although severe storms aren't expected, tropical showers and thunderstorms with lots of lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds will fire up early this afternoon in the sunshine state of Florida. Tampa, St. Pete, Orlando, the Space Coast and even down to Lake Okeechobee should be on the lookout and on guard for bubble up summertime storms this afternoon and into this evening. Have your umbrellas and your wet weather gear on standby.
