When Caitlin Clark is involved, the public is interested. Clark's Indiana fever took on the Brazilian national team in a preseason game at the University of Iowa over the weekend, with the ESPN broadcast averaging 1.3 million viewers. That number was 13% higher than ESPN's 2024 regular season average for the WNBA.

Clark, who is preparing for her second season with the Fever, became the NCAA's Division I all-time scoring leader while at Iowa. She then took the WNBA by storm last year, winning Rookie of the Year and taking the Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

On the diamond, the Nationals took the first game of a doubleheader with the Guardians in a wild game, with Washington walking away with a 10-9 victory. After blowing a four-run lead by allowing six runs in the top of the seventh, Washington responded with four runs in the bottom half, capped off by a Jose Tena double. Tena, center field! Heading over to the NBA, the Houston Rockets made the playoffs for the first time in five seasons before losing to the Golden State Warriors in seven games. With the future bright in Houston, head coach Hime Adoka knows how big this offseason will be. Everybody's goal to be better and come back better, and that was the main message that we went away with is the things we've done, they've got us to this point, but we all have to come back better, and this is a huge offseason for everybody. Staying in basketball, the Boston Celtics were stunned by the New York Knicks in Game 1 of their second-round series, blowing a 20-point second-half lead before losing in overtime.
