In men's college basketball, Creighton has a succession plan in place. Allen Huss has stepped down as head coach of High Point to join the Creighton staff and has been named the coach in waiting. Greg McDermott has been the coach of the Blue Jays since 2010, and there is no specific timeline for him to retire that according to ESPN. Huss spent six seasons as an assistant under McDermott before taking the job at High Point in 2023, where he led the Panthers to the NCAA tournament last month.
