The IndyCar Series is back on Fox Sunday, one week after Alex Pillow took the checkered flag at the Indianapolis 500. Drivers now head to Michigan for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix. 164.5 miles and 100 laps racing through the streets of downtown Detroit. Colton Herta won the race last season, but it's been the season of Pillow this year. After last week's win in Indy, he's won five of the six IndyCar races this season.
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Nashville Super Speedway tonight for the Cracker Barrel 400. Ross Chastain won last week's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte. Joey Logano is the defending race winner at Nashville. The action gets underway at 7 o'clock Eastern.
The UFL regular season ends today with a pair of games. First, the San Antonio Brahmins host the Arlington Renegades in a lone star state showdown. Both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention, but the Renegades will try to end their season with a 5-5 record.
And then at 3 o'clock Eastern on Fox, the Birmingham Stallions take on the Memphis Showboats. Birmingham is gearing up to defend their UFL title. They are 6-3 on the year entering this game. Ahead of the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028, some big news breaking in the world of boxing this weekend. World Boxing, the governing body that will begin sanctioning the sport at the next Olympics, announcing that they will introduce mandatory sex testing for male and female athletes. The requirement comes after controversies at the 2023 Women's Boxing World Championships.
Algeria's Ayman Khalif, who won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024, faced accusations of being a biological male even though she identifies as a woman and has long competed as a female athlete. She was later disqualified from the event after failing eligibility tests.
Now World Boxing says she will be unable to participate in any World Boxing event until she undergoes sex testing. Mandatory sex testing in the Olympics was banned in 1999, but the International Olympic Committee has left sex and gender to the discretion of each sport's governing body.
