Derek Harmon's dreams came true Thursday night. He's also dealing with a lot of grief. After being selected by the Steelers with the 21st pick of the draft, Harmon's mother passed away. She's been on life support in the hospital after enduring several brain surgeries and a stroke in recent years. In a statement, Steelers president Art Rooney II said in part, quote, we will support Derek and his family however we can as he navigates this period of grief. He

Harmon, a defensive tackle, spent the first three years of his college career at Michigan State before transferring to Oregon. Staying with NFL news, Travis Hunter is a special talent, and the Jaguars made a big move to get him in the first round. Jacksonville traded with the Browns to move up to the second pick and took the two-way star in reigning Heisman Trophy wearer.

Hunter starred on both sides of the football at Colorado as both a quarterback and a wide receiver. And it sure sounds like that's the goal in Jacksonville, with Hector's William Cohen saying the defensive and offensive coordinators have already discussed a plan. Both Camp and I and Grant are all on the same page about, hey, how is this thing going to work? What do we want it to look like? What we want it to look like, we'll look like at Colorado. And that would be pretty good for us.

After Cleveland's Game 2 win over the Heat on Wednesday, Garland said the team's offensive game plan was partly to, quote, pick on Tyler Hero. Miami's leading scorer responded today. I mean, it's cool. At the end of the day, it's competitive. But somebody who doesn't play defense shouldn't be talking either. He don't play any defense.
