Simona Ciraolo who is a Sardinian-born picture book author and illustrator. Her works focus on the relationships between people and the emotional experience of being human but always with a heartwarming portrayal. In this episode, I talked to her about her two books, one of which is Shy Ones, which is about a shy flapjack octopus who spots another shy fish in the room. The other one is The Lines on Nana's face, which is about a grandmother explaining to her granddaughter how she keeps all her memories within the wrinkles on her face.
