to do a crime. Not just the physical place, because that's very important, but also making sure that you're in the right head place as well. Because when someone makes you so upset and all you see is red, you never know who'll get hurt next. Our players this week are Christopher Scott Griffith, our victim, Juwan Lunsford, our victim, and Tavia's boyfriend slash baby daddy, and Tavia Chapman.

our murderess. Tavia Montesha Chapman was born on June 24th, 1998 in Avondale, Cincinnati, to her parents, Takesha Chapman, and her father, Lamonte Lewis. Now, there's not much that we know about Tavia's upbringing or anything like that, but what I do know is that she worked as a male clerk at Randstand USA. I do know that at some point she worked at Wendy's.

And she also had a Facebook page. And on this Facebook page, I saw that she listed herself as an insurance representative. So she probably did that as well. So here it is. She's 22 years old. She's got two kids. She only got one baby daddy. So she don't need your judgment. And from what is revealed in court, she has a real bad anger problem. And most of the time, it's these niggas that be pissing her off.

In 2020, she got arrested for breaking her ex-boyfriend's window. And it seemed like it was his apartment window, not his car window. That was probably around the time that Chris Sean Rock was also breaking in Blueface's window. She probably got some inspiration. So I put together Mirage World that wasn't clarified by any sources. I put together that it was her baby daddy's.

window that she broke. Draw your own conclusions. But anyways, it was her ex. But it's okay because her boo came through and dropped those charges, so everything's cool. Tavia, she's moved on from her ex. She got this new man now. His name is Juwan Lunsford. Now, I really wish I had more to tell you about Juwan, but the man is a ghost on the internet. From what I can see, it's not much. But I know he wasn't right.

He ain't treat my girl to violence. She caught him cheating on her. It was very much, "Fuck you, nigga," but also very much, "I love you, and I'm willing to make it work, but play in my face again. Fuck around and find out." They thugging it out. They working through. Trust is low, but what can you expect when you cheat, you know? But there's light at the end of the tunnel, you guys, because at the top of 21,

Tavaya gets pregnant. Her and Juwan are about to have a baby. This was a very rough year for her. I don't know if the pregnancy was stressing her out. In this same year of 2021, she gets arrested for hitting her seven-year-old with the belt and punching her in the face. Which, ma'am, a belt in the face? Like, you know, even if you had said hitting a seven-year-old in the face, maybe I would have asked more questions like,

Like a pop in the face, like, what do you mean? But a belt in the face, there's no grounds. There was no grounds before, but there's super no grounds. Towards the end of the year, she welcomes her baby, like, in December of 2022 or maybe even early of January 2023. Tavaya and Jem'Juan welcomed their baby. It was not told to us whether it was a boy or girl, but they were healthy.

And then in 2022, a warrant is issued for Tavia's arrest because she failed to return her four-year-old to her dad, who, at this point, is the legal guardian of her kids because she lost custody of them, probably because she's hitting her seven-year-old in the face with a belt. I'm sure that is baby daddy number one, and he probably has the seven and the four-year-old. And in her visitation, she decided that

She wanted to fuck the rules and keep the kid. And her daddy said, mm-mm, I don't play about mine. Bring them back. I got the law for you. You're going to jail. He's like, I ain't got time to be playing with you. I already know what type of dumb shit you be on. I ain't about to fight. I ain't gonna argue. I'm just gonna call the cops. I'm gonna let them deal with you. I'm tired of dealing with you.

Because the documentation is there, babe. What we tell you last week, make sure that you always have your documentation because they're going to have their documentation. Now, Tavia and Juwan, despite the rough year that they have had, they are still trying to make things work. They want to be good parents for their newborn baby. Every time his phone rings, her ear would itch. Every time he got a text message, she got a sharp pain up her back.

And on the right side of her stomach. You know, and every act of him, if you don't know it, you really can't explain women's intuition. I can't explain it. It just is. But when you know, you know. Something's fishy in the water. She got a feeling that she can't let go of. It's sitting in the back of her mind every day. And it's eating at her. It's really, she gonna figure it the fuck out. Because like she said, he got one more time to play with her. Juwan, one more time.

It's August 31st, 2022. Tavia, she's with her baby daddy, Juwan. They eight-month-old in the backseat, a typical evening. They go to the Kroger and Spring Grove Village. And once they get there, he's like, all right, baby, I'm gonna run inside. You wanna stay in the car or you wanna go? And he's just like, it's okay, I'll stay in the car. Which I have never been staying in the car type of person. I always want to get out of the car. That's just me, I be feeling trapped. So, yeah.

He gets off the car, and he leaves his phone. And she was like, this is exactly... You know what? She probably stayed in the car because she didn't feel like unbuckling that baby out the backseat. Especially if it was going to be real quick. It ain't worth it. Yeah, maybe. Somebody's got to be there with the baby. But she knew that her nigga was moving funny. And so when she was like, Juwan, just go inside the grocery store. We'll be right here. And then he leaves his phone behind. He leaves his phone behind, and she said, well...

I've been biding my time. Something in me knew that it was going wrong. And here it is, the golden ticket. It's not like she doesn't have a reason to mistrust him, right? Like he has cheated on her before and she has a feeling that he's up to his old antics. So she opens the phone. It's like, okay, so where do we go? Where do we go? Let me see. Let me look into the text messages. And she says, what's my sister's name doing in my man's phone?

Questions that need answering. If it was me, I don't think... What they trying to surprise me with? Because what she needs to figure out, I wonder how it was set up. Like, did he have emojis next to her name that was already saying what the fuck was going on? You know what I mean? She read them text messages. But I really... The way it's displayed would change how I went into it. Something made her click on it, right? Because if it was just her name...

Maybe if it was if it's my sister's day, I'm going to see why her name is in my man's phone. It may be nothing. It may be nothing. It should be nothing. It should be. It should be me. It's probably nothing. You should be talking about me and me only or these kids, either one. But she opens up the text messages and it's not that at all. She opens up the text messages. She's.

she sees that they done had a good time together, a couple of times together. And she's just like,

Oh my God. Not my sister. Not my blood. Not my friend. This ain't my play sister. This ain't my home girl. This is my real flesh and blood. Not the child of Takisha Chapman. Not the child that came from the same womb that I did. Not my sister. Couldn't be. No way. No, no, no. She just can't believe it. This set her off. Like, I don't even know how I would react. I don't have a sibling.

So I don't know how I would react to knowing that my sibling was having sex with my man.

Yeah, I don't think I would respond well. She sees this and she's pissed. And she's like, no, I need to talk to this man right now. I need to talk to him right now. She gets out the car, closes the car door. Baby is still in the car. And she goes inside the Kroger. She goes in the Kroger. She know what he was looking for. She know what was on the grocery list. And so she goes right to the aisle that he's at. And she is cussing his ass out, yelling at him. She's hitting him like, and let me tell you about this girl.

She looked like she runs five miles a day and she is always working to beat her PR. Like, she looked like she'd be in the gym. Okay, she looks like she'd be out. To beat her who? Personal record. Got it. Sorry. Took me a minute. That's a sports term, Tassie. I got there.

Okay. After she hits on him a little bit, everybody in the Kroger hear it now. Like, it's not like they don't hear her screaming and yelling. He goes back out to the car. She gets in their car. He's like, man, fuck this. Let me interject you real quick. I, too, have a case of the I can't wait. Like, when something's bothering me, I need to talk to you.

immediately like no don't like bothering me like this bothering me oh we need to talk we need to talk right now i have a case of the seeing reds i've seen a few reds i got a problem i want to talk about it right now you do have a case of seeing reds everybody always ask who they think would be the murderess and we always say me but honestly tansy i feel like

you would be the murderess. But this is the clarifying question. Do you feel like I would be the murderess over you or in addition? I don't know if it would be over me or in addition. I don't think we would... I actually don't think that we would kill somebody together. No, no, no. Like, your chance is still up there, but I too may kill somebody? Or is it like, no, actually, you're actually the one? I think you're actually the one. I'm scared. There's only one of us that's been arrested. Hey, she has just biased the jury.

Irrelevant, Your Honor. Back to the story. She goes out to the car and this man still doesn't buy his groceries. So she's sitting in the car. She didn't turn the car on. She didn't pull out of the parking spot. And she is waiting for this man to come out. And he buys her groceries. He pays for them. He puts in his Kroger Plus number. And he comes out. She sees him.

And he sees her seeing him. And so he's thinking, all right, she's pulling up so that I can get in the car. We're going to figure it out. We're going to argue about it later. You know I ain't mean it, baby. All that stuff. He's getting his lines together, right? He's walking towards the car, thinking that she's just driving and pulling around. And next thing you know, she floors it. And remember, they're driving a minivan, like a mommy soccer van, a minivan. And when he realizes that she's

accelerating towards him and not rolling to a stop he like scoot scoot scoot runs out of the way now he still got hit and when he got hit he flipped over and he slew for a little while he landed it was not pretty and the van it also hits the poles you know the poles that are for traffic safety at tarpon there's a big red balls but they're usually at walmart they're like the yellow pole

She drives and her car hits that. She kind of leans on the side almost like a monster truck. Giving Grant that photo over here. You know what I'm saying? And she realizes...

that he's fine. He's absolutely just fine. While the minivan is monster trucking, she keeps accelerating and gets the van down and it kind of spins out. When Joanne was walking, he was walking towards her, so he wasn't in the designated crosswalk. And while she was spinning out, she was spinning into the designated crosswalk. And in that designated crosswalk was a man walking. His name was Christopher Griffin.

Christopher Scott Griffith was born in 1964. He was a sound monitor engineer. He worked for lots of great musicians. I'm talking about real names here. I don't know who Kerry Connick Jr. is, but Aerosmith, ZZ Topps, Prince, The Temptations, The Four Tops. He's got some names under his belt, all right? In May of 2013, he was born.

He was in a motorcycle accident. This man, he's a biker boy. Like, if you look at his picture, it's an old white man, bald, long beard, leather vest, Harley-Davidson, like, classic white biker man, you know?

And he was in a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed, but not permanently. He eventually learned how to walk. He did have to use a cane. This really came at an unfortunate time in his life because he was actually planning to go back on tour working as a sound engineer. You know, who knows what big name he had next. But he had to then stop and relearn how to walk. When people tell me that they have to relearn how to walk, it's the most awkward.

unfathomable thing. I used to know somebody who broke their hips when they were a kid and they had to re- like, you know, you can't walk until you're sitting down for so long you literally forget how to walk. Or even like somebody else has a friend, they had to jump out of a two-story window to get out of a fire and they broke both their legs or something like that. And now they have to relearn how to walk and like,

Imagining at this age, legit not knowing how to walk, like literally having to learn how to walk is crazy. Definitely one of those things that are scary for me. Yeah. This accident was something like a motivator to him. He founded a charity called Look Twice Cincy because Cincinnati. The charity focused on raising awareness of driver safety, helping other motorcycle accident victims receive care and education.

get back on their feet after crashes. This is something that really kind of rocked him. He didn't want to take this for granted or this opportunity, because you may have figured out how to walk again. Like, he went from being paralyzed to walking again, which is a blessing. You know, everybody can't tell that story. His brother Greg said that he was paralyzed from the neck down after his accident, and he slowly but surely recovered until he could walk. He needed the cane, but he could walk and function and live on his own, and that...

neck down. Here it is, regular day for Mr. Griffith. He's walking into the Kroger with his little cane, using a crosswalk so everybody knows, hey, watch out for pedestrians. It's a normal day. And the next thing you know, he sees this car hurling towards him. And legit, like,

When you watch the video, you can kind of see him flinch. You know when something's coming at you so fast there's nothing you can do? Now, 'cause you know you have a fight or flight. My sister's fight or flight was

Reflex, top notch. My youngest sister, she will fly in a second. I remember she told me her and my other sister were in a car driving and they got hit with an accident. This girl sees the truck coming, unbuckles her seatbelt, moves over to the other side of the car, don't care about the other passengers, it's on they lap, like, it's the car coming from this side. But this man, he's recovering from paralysis. He still has to walk with a cane.

Even if he tried to flee, she wasn't going nowhere. She knew it. And he kind of just flinched and he gets mowed down. After the car finishes driving through him, it kind of spins a bit or turns a bit and it stops. And that car is shut the fuck down. It ain't going nowhere else. It has done all it could do.

Tavea's eight-month baby is in the backseat of this car.

Now, she had just done all this with her eight-month baby in the backseat. Car sideways, hit two niggas. Next thing she does is get out the car, and she don't check on Mr. Griffith. She don't even check on her baby. They go over to her baby daddy, and she start beating this nigga some more. You stupid son of a bitch with my fucking sister? Are you fucking kidding me? And, of course, everybody in the parking lot is like, bitch, you just ran him over, and...

Two people over, and everybody is swarming to help the two people. And she is just kicking and punching like, you stupid, I can't stand you. I gave you a fucking baby. I gave you all I had. You gonna fuck around with my goddamn sister? Everybody's like, ma'am, ma'am, it's legit. Like, you were too much two minutes ago. You've got to back up. And they end up taking Juwan and putting him in a buggy.

and they see that his leg is broken, and they are over here. There's another crowd of people over by Mr. Griffith trying to figure out what to do calling 911. Tavia then gets back in the car. You see her. If you look at the footage, you see her get in on the driver's side, and you see her exit on the passenger's side. And I don't know about y'all, but to me, it looks like she put her baby in her shirt, and she tried to flee the scene.

Because Jawan and the victim were on the driver's side of the car. She said, don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious. That girl tried to get the fuck on with her baby. With her baby. That means the whole time when this car was on its side. That's all I'm saying. That baby was on a roller coaster ride.

She tries to make her way somewhere, somehow. But people at the Kroger, they wasn't having it. They said, no, ma'am. You just ran over two people in the front of fucking Kroger's. Now we're seeing that. Did you do that with an infant in the car? We've called the cops. You need to stay here. They won't let her go. They was like, no, I can't. I can't.

I cannot let you do that. My heart, I won't be able to sleep tonight if I don't know that you or not. This is a rust. Somebody get the zip ties.

It was like, you ain't going nowhere, baby girl. That's too much. I can't turn my eye to this one. Christopher was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for his injuries. He died early the next morning. Juwan only suffered a broken leg. When he was out there, people were trying to help, so they picked him up and they put him in the buggy. And then they realized, oh, shit, this nigga's legs are broke. Which, oh, I hope they couldn't see bone. Yeah.

I don't know how much I could help somebody if I see their bone. I know, right? Like, when you can visibly see it's broke, like, it should look over there looking like jello. Oh, my God. Yeah. Obviously, when authorities got there, the first thing that they were tending to was that baby. And the eight-month-old was placed with the Hamilton County DFCS, which...

I'm sure none of us are surprised there. And she was arrested right there on the spot without incident. Everybody knew who did it. And the whole thing also happened at the Kroger parking lot. And Kroger also has security. And so they were able to say, yep, this woman running is wearing the exact outfit with the exact same hairstyle as this woman right here in front of you. We can ID her, take her on. When people heard about her arrest, honestly, it really felt like

I feel this way too. The community was honestly a little bit disgusted. They was like, I cannot believe that she was in this car. She had a total disregard for human life. And on top of that, she endangered her eight month old. You can be mad all you want, but like that kid didn't do nothing. That kid didn't cheat on you. So why are you putting that baby's life in danger? Right.

Somebody else from the community said, quote, one of the most disgusting parts of this to me is that after she plows into two people, her car was disabled. After that, she exited the vehicle, leaving that eight month old baby in the car and proceeds to go to her boyfriend and to beat him, which is wild. You left that man and that baby behind.

She probably didn't know she even hit that man, but she knew that baby was in the car. Like, you've got to be on blinders and nothing else. You don't know. All you know is you missed that nigga and had to go back for more. That's all you know. Yeah. Or didn't get him the way you wanted to. Greg Griffith, Christopher's brother, said, quote,

I don't understand why someone would do this. I really want her to pay for what she's done. The maximum penalty, whatever the murder charge is going to be, if she pays for this, this is census. Which it really is. If somebody told me that my brother was run down in front of Kroger, and then I say, "Why?" And you tell me, "Because some girl was trying to run over her boyfriend." And then just, you got, "Girl!"

Your break should have failed. You must have had a seizure. There are very few scenarios where this is unfortunate events, but like, I understand. This ain't one of them, girl. Yeah.

You know, the brother continues, it's not about vindictiveness. It's not about revenge. It's not about justice. It's that I think this woman, based on what I saw, is so out of control of her rage that she'll never be able to control it. And she'll hurt or kill someone again if she's not put in jail and kept there. My brother was a wonderful, wonderful person. He was very technically accomplished and one of the best sound engineers in the world. He goes on to talk about, you know, the motorcycle accident. And he said, that hurts very deeply to know

what's happened after all he did, after all he struggled to overcome. Which is kind of insane, right? You get in a motorcycle. I kind of get it, though. Like, there are things, if you have faulty brakes and hit my brother and he died, if there were things that were out of your control, we were spinning, you were spinning on ice and you hit my brother and he died. No, you were just angry and you were reckless. And that is what hurts the most.

He said he worked so hard over the past nine years to overcome his injury, laying in the bed paralyzed from the neck down, and he looked at me and he said, "I will walk again." That's how determined he was. That's how strong he was. It's pretty ironic, right? Christopher has, like, used this as a motivating factor to bring awareness to driver safety so that there are less crash victims, and you are the victim of the most idiotic crash.

the most reckless driver. Like, there was nothing safe about this situation. And it wasn't like, like you said, not a technical failure, none of that. It was legit just recklessness to the man dedicating life's work to driver safety. It's crazy.

The thing is, like, he didn't know you. You ain't know him. It was just the everyday. And it's scary how quickly your life can be taken away. He was going to get some groceries, probably go figure out what he was going to have for dinner so that he could go home and sit down. Mm-hmm. And then, boom, out of nowhere. People in the community, they painted a mural of Christopher at one of his favorite restaurants where he was a regular called Over the Rhine Dunlap Cafe. He was also a...

Organ donor and his organs went to 75 different people after he died. He had a former girlfriend Molly be true I like that and Molly was true. Okay Molly be true He saved my life on more than one occasion he was just golden and for something like this to happen It's it's just obscene

Honestly, this was a very open and shut case. We have you on the tape. Your baby daddy, who was the intended victim, survived and is pointing the whole finger at you. And so you're arrested. She is charged with felonious assault, attempted murder. She is charged with one count of endangering children and death.

They go in front of the judge and the judge is like, OK, well, tell me, do you think that she should have a bond or not? The defense is like, oh, no, I feel like she should have a very low bond. No one is dead. Yes, it was very bad. She's a good person. She didn't murder anybody or anything like that. And the prosecution is like, no, no, no. She was angry and she hit two men. One of them was innocent. She should absolutely have a bond.

And so they were like, okay. Now remember, at this time, this is like the day after the incident happened. And justice moves differently in every city and every jurisdiction. You just have to know what your court does. But at this court, she was in court the very next day and she got a bond for $20,000. And then...

Ring, ring, ring. She got the call that Christopher passed away. And they said, "Oh, baby, we're about to slap you with some murder charges. Come on back down here real quick."

On her back down. You are getting more charges, babes. And so her bond was then upped to $515,000. Half a million dollars. So she had to figure out what she was going to do. Now, of course, they gave her the opportunity to have a plea deal. You go to trial. We're going to charge you with murder. You go to trial. You are risking your entire life in prison. And she's like, I don't want to do that. He was like, but if you take this deal...

involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault, one for each of the guys, then, you know, maybe we can work something out. Max, you'll get was 23 years, maybe, but I don't think you'll get all that. And she was like, I feel like I should use self-defense. And they were like, you do. Imagine being an attorney and your client's like, I feel like I should claim self-defense and you, the attorney, being like, and tell me why you think that.

Why is that true for you? But her defense talked her out of that because baby, that wasn't gonna rock in nobody's court. But if you sign this deal, we go in front of the judge, you say that you're sorry, we know that you won't have life in prison and you'll be able to see them babies again. And so she's like, okay, I'll do it. I'll take the plea deal. When Sisters Who Kill began, an online store was the furthest thing from our minds. I mean, online,

rocketmoney.com slash sisters. When this happens in this particular city, she doesn't have to talk about the entire crime that happened. She doesn't have to make a full confession. Everybody has to hear both sides of what happened and she has to make sure that her apology is really, really good. And so the prosecutor still has work to do because even though she's taken the plea, they want her to have the max possible sentence, which could be 23 years. The Hamilton County prosecutor, his name is Joe Dieters, he said, listen,

She took this three-ton vehicle and plowed into Christopher Griffin, an innocent man, on a cane, walking across the crosswalk. Not only that, Your Honor, but when her car was disabled, when she couldn't move it anymore...

She decided to leave a baby, an infant, in the vehicle to go beat this man up whose legs were broken. Did not render aid to Mr. Griffin, who was lying there clutching onto his life. Did not render aid to her baby daddy, who was laying there, legs just going every which way. None of that.

Her defense was saying the opposite, saying that she was angry and this was something that happened out of passion. There was no malice behind what she was doing when Christopher died. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time and she had no intention of killing him. Should we call her a murderer? Pin her as that when an innocent man that she had no intention to kill?

had an unfortunate demise. And the judge is thinking about it and he's thinking about it and goes back in his chambers and decides what his verdict will be. Tavia was sentenced to 18 years in prison by Judge Norma Marsh. At the sentencing, she wrote a letter to Christopher's family and it said, quote,

I will live in regret every day knowing someone innocent lost their life because of a poor decision I made. There's nothing I can say to justify my behavior, but simply, I was wrong. I hope you can accept that I genuinely didn't intend nor purposely cause harm to your family, and I'm going through a traumatic experience as well knowing I hurt someone.

The only mercy I ask for is that you don't live with anger in your hearts." Another one of Christopher's brothers spoke. His name was Dan, and he said that he wanted to get rid of the anger and hatred that he had towards Tavia, and that her spending more time in prison wasn't going to benefit his brother. He did, however, think that she needed to sit in there and deal with her anger. She is currently housed at the Dayton Correctional Institution. It is reported that Juwan sued her ass

I took that insurance for a lot of money. I know, that's right. For that broken leg. I would have done the same thing. If you come after me, you might as well kill me because I'm going to come after you. Her first baby daddy was probably like, take her to court.

I got a lawyer. Listen, now I'm really trying to decide, does she have two or three baby daddy? Because I seen something and it was like, he just seen how she was acting and was like, she going to end up hurting somebody and I'm going to get my child out of this environment. Somebody else, that's what he said specifically, end up hurting somebody else. And that was the story of Taviah Chapman. All right, y'all, it's time for... Well, I'm not black, I'm OJ.

I ain't do it, but if I did, this is how I would have got away with it. I ain't do it, but if I did, you got a Kroger, Walmart, Publix, Piggly Wiggly, Whims, all the grocery stores. Shoot, I think even at Food Depot, they got...

Cameras. They got cameras. You should have let him get in the car. Drive with your left hand, whack that nigga with your right hand. Girl, I ain't do it, but if I did, you got to keep it between the parties involved. I ain't gonna say that nigga ain't deserve his ass beat, but the second person should not have been Christopher. The second person should have been your fucking sister, girl. Cause what? What?

You owe me more than he do. I should have your loyalty over him any fucking day of the week. But keep it between the parties involved. Also, she a little skinny thing. You could have just bought him yourself. Don't fight with cars. Don't fight with cars. Did you see that clip? Somebody's car was parked on the street. This woman drove up and she hit that shit. And she kept hitting that shit to the middle of the street. She

She circled around it, went backwards, drove around it, went forwards, drove around, went from the side. That nigga just sitting there standing in the street just watching her plow his shit. She was hitting his vehicle?

I don't know what he did to her. That nigga started walking to his car. He just threw his keys. He said, I don't need these no more. She totaled that bitch. Oh, God. I ain't do it, but if I did, I wouldn't have left the baby in the car. I wouldn't do anything with the baby around. I just don't even want that energy around the baby, like that argument, like put the baby to bed and I'm going to see your ass tonight. I ain't do it, but if I did, believe that nigga the first time.

Girl, he already cheated on you. I don't think y'all was dating that long. This nigga already showed you who he was. That's a good one.

This was crazy. I know this was a short case, but like, wow, that was wild. Some people can change though. How many times he did it with your sister? Honestly, can we talk about it? With my sister? And why would you not go beat her ass? You know what I've been through with this man. You know what he has done. What did you say? Like, oh, he cheats all the time. So maybe I'm going to cheat too. Did she piss her sister off? What's she do to her sister? What? Your sister?

What's y'all's story? I do not understand it. Y'all got some type of sibling rivalry going on? You need to write a book, girl. You need to write you a miniseries, because I need to know. These short cases, I'm going to start making up backstories.
