In numerology, 2025 is a number nine year, which signifies the end of major life cycles, representing a time of completion, transition, and significant transformation across various aspects of life.
Alex described 2024 as a year of balance, growth, and expansion, particularly due to her pregnancy and becoming a mother, which brought significant changes to her life.
Jordyn learned that not every conflict has to be a fight. She realized that disagreements can be handled calmly and don’t need to escalate into big blowouts, which was a shift from her upbringing.
Alex's theme for 2025 is 'stop delaying the dream,' focusing on achieving her goals now rather than waiting for the future, such as buying nice furniture for her current apartment instead of waiting until she moves to a house.
Some 'ins' for 2025 include long hair, short nails, low screen time, high-end fashion (like luxury jewelry and bags), and a more natural, low-maintenance aesthetic.
Some 'outs' for 2025 include self-care routines that are overly elaborate, mascara, Hot Girl Walks, and cities like New York and LA, as many influencers are moving to places like Texas, Arizona, and Nashville.
Alex recommended the Snoo, a smart bassinet for babies, and the Babyquip app, which allows parents to rent a Snoo for travel at $25 a day, with delivery and pickup services.
Jordyn recommended applying a thick layer of under-eye cream and then placing eye patches over it for 30 minutes to an hour, which she found to be a game-changer for her skincare routine.

I feel like New York City and LA are kind of out. I feel like a lot of influencers are moving to
like Texas, Austin, Dallas, Nashville, a lot live in Arizona even. - Arizona is so hot right now. - Yeah. - I did not pay and attend a workout class in the calendar year of 2024. - Wait, that's kind of cool. - And I probably attended six a week in 2023. - That was really powerful to realize like the older you get, you should start giving your coffee or your tea to less people and like start saving more for yourself. Sometimes I get really hard on myself that I don't have like a million friends. Like we've talked about this a million times and she's like, it's okay to have
Just a few people. Welcome back to another episode of Mean Girl Pod. The last of 2024. I know. In two days, it's going to be 2025. Wow. 2025. So that's wild. That's what year? Yeah. So we were looking up what year it is. It's the year of...
of nine because it's two plus zero plus two plus five and it means in numerology a number nine year significant signifies the end of major life cycles representing a time of completion transition and significant transformation across the various aspects of your life
Wow. So I guess it's like the year is like time of completion and transition. Okay. That's kind of like true for us, I guess. Let's see. I need a reminder of what 2024 was. In numerology, a year that is an eight year, which was 2024, is a time of balanced growth and expansion. Yeah, it was. So it's like the eighth year or an eight year has a potential for accomplish your visions with greater ease and excitement. So I feel like it was...
Honestly, I feel like 2024, if I were to explain it, it was balance. Yeah, I totally agree. And growth. Yeah. And expansion. Yes. Because you had a baby. Yeah, because I expanded my family. If you guys are watching on YouTube and I keep looking down, that's what I'm looking at. I would actually totally agree with that. Yeah, as would I. So tell me what 2025 is going to be. Okay, so 2025 is the end of major...
an end of a major life cycle representing a time of completion, transition, and a significant transformation across various aspects of your life. So it's more of like a transformative year. I like that. I'm excited for what will come. I don't know, but I like it. Yeah, hopefully I'm moving to Florida. I think you will be. Pete's going to kill me if I say that one more time.
Okay, cool. That's awesome. I love numerology. Love it. Have you ever done your birth date? No. What do you mean? You're 1993. So you do 1 plus 9 plus 9 plus 3. I don't know what that is. But then, and then you like, I can't remember exactly what it is, but it's like you take that number and then you would do, here, let me go do it. 22. But then you, oh, heck, she can't. So will you, will you do 1 plus 9 plus 9 plus 3?
1 plus 9 plus 9 plus 3. 22. And then do 2 plus 2 is 4. So you're 4. I'm a 4? Yeah, so that's... 22, you add the 2 together. Yeah. Okay. And then I would be, I think, that would make me a... It makes you a 6, a 6. A 5? I'm not 95. I know, yeah. Wait, what did I just add up? So you do 1 plus... 1, 9, 9, 5. Yeah. Oh, so you're 24. So 4, 5, 6. So I'm a 6. Yeah. So...
So a numerology of four is like stability, practicing, and building a solid foundation. But there's...
There's more to it. I saw a TikTok one time where she breaks down what you are like as a person through numerology based off of when you're born. But I think it has to do more of not just the year you're born. I think you also add in the month and the day. So it'd be like seven plus one plus the year you're born. I can't remember exact breakdown, but it's cool to look at. That's really cool to look at. We were also talking to Steven from Olipop and he was talking about the Hogan's test you can take. Yeah.
Yeah, and I think that would be really fun. I think all of those tests that tell you about yourself are fascinating. Did you ever take the Myers-Briggs in college or anything? And that's what tells you what areas you'd excel in? Yeah, it's like the letters like EMJ or... Oh no, I didn't take that. I remember taking... I don't remember what letter I am or a set of three letters I am, but I remember taking it and I was like, whoa, this is very much me. I think it was like the counselor or something. There's like the teacher, the counselor, the...
a leader I think I think there's like a various ones that's what you get told that you are yeah your your letters make up um your personality and but I think it like defines it like broadly and I think mine was like the counselor like
Type person. Yeah. There's also... Have you heard of the AIMS testing? Yes. Okay, so I did that. Did you do that? No. Is that... I forgot what is... I've heard of it, but I don't know exactly. Is it colors or... No, it tells you like areas that you would excel in. Oh. So I'm like, I got commercial real estate and law, I remember. Which is like very random. Oh, yes. I know exactly what you're talking about now. I don't know. But that was like in high school I got that. Isn't that funny though? Well, and Stephen too also said he...
The like when they hire people, they'll be like, I don't want to work in the area. But then they do the test and they get picked for the area and then they excel in the area that the test. Yes. Like the test is accurate. Like he hired somebody that he didn't think did the best interview, but like ended up being exactly like the test said, which is fascinating. Yeah. Also, also tell us about your monster. My monster today.
because it's the end of the new year is my favorite one of my favorite monsters i won't say it's a tie between this and the white one but i have the ultra sunrise it's a sunny new year yeah how about that it's a sunny new year um but yeah it's always a tie between this and the in the white monster the white monster is so good
yeah the white monster defines year 2024. i was like the grape one too yeah you too my mom likes a grape one i i was drinking it when i was back home for thanksgiving um like a month ago and she was like what are you drinking i was like a monster and she said can i have some she's like that's so good tracy loves it she does she loves caffeine too by the way you know a gift for her did you get have you gotten her a christmas present yeah okay why what was your idea even though it's new year's eve now
That's so true. But for her birthday's coming up, what's the idea? Custom pickleball paddles. Oh my God, that'd be a sick gift. From Recess. Have you heard of Recess Pickleball? No. Okay, they do custom paddles and they are beautiful. They're based out of Austin. Oh, I really like that. Yeah, so it's an idea. I got her a Baze carry-on.
Love it. Because her and my dad are going on a little European trip. So she's retiring finally. She just gave them her notice before Thanksgiving. Congratulations. I know. So her and my dad will both be retired and they're going to be going on a European cruise with my godparents who are my parents' best friends. And then they're going to go to, after the cruise, they're going to go explore, I think, London and...
So fun Maybe one more place So much fun So I was like I gotta get you a good carry on Yeah the base ones are the best And the European cruises Are apparently like So not like our cruises here No those are like the best Over there Yeah and then I got her And my dad both Um
new noise canceling headphones nice present because I was like uh I know my dad like an eight nine hour flight without noise cancellation you're gonna go crazy rock solid yeah that's a great gift yeah so but my birthday is coming up uh in February so maybe I'll get her the paddles the paddles are really cute they're really cute yeah you can like put you could put like nicknames on them or you could put like cute yeah like Elroy or something I don't know do I have anything in my teeth no okay not one thing I feel like I have like a piece of lettuce in my tooth I don't know why maybe the back
So last year we did an episode that was a reflection of 2024. Or sorry, we were reflecting on 2023 then and like what's to come in 2024. And can I just say 2024, your life has changed so much. Because did you know you were pregnant in 2023? Nope. Do you remember the day you found out you were pregnant? It was like the middle of January. Okay.
That's crazy. Yeah. So like when we were filming that episode, you were stone cold not pregnant. I was not pregnant in the least. But you were dating Harrison, obviously. Yeah. Yeah.
that's do you really think about that like yes and then I think about the year of 2024 I'm I I got through not one workout class I did not go I did not pay and attend a workout class in the calendar year of 2024 wait that's kind of cool and I and I probably attended six a week in 2023 yeah I would go to those boxing classes all the time and then in 2024 not not one how do you feel about that
It was necessary. Like, you don't get to pick how pregnancy hits you. And, like, I really had to, like, surrender to the process. And I could not walk on the treadmill, I remember. And so I'm fine with it. I love that. Yeah, I look at my little girl and I think, okay, no problem. Oh, yeah. I mean, I look at her and I'm like, I would skip a workout class for the rest of my life for a little peanut like that. Yeah, exactly. Like, it was just the duty. A girl messaged me and she said...
Like how did she work That was really pretty wording But like What happens to your body You have no control Over what happens to your body In pregnancy And you just have to do Like what's right And it like overtakes you And so yeah That was not working out for me Also too I realized like Your pregnancy Was a full blown Like 2024 pregnancy You found out And you gave birth in 2024 Yeah and then I don't know If you've heard of The fourth trimester
But that's the it's the first three months they're born. Oh, your body's like not fully recovered. If you're breastfeeding, you're still in menopause. Like you still have the postpartum depression or whatever you have. And so truly you're pregnant or in the fourth trimester for a full 12 months. But it is cool because mine was actually a calendar year of 12 months. Like it wasn't March to March. Yeah. It was like January to January. Yeah. So it's like a full year. That's so funny. I know. Um,
Also, don't, I mean, I'm going to quick take Advil. Not that I have a headache. I just feel like I could have one coming on because my bun is so tight. You don't ever do slicked back buns, do you? No, but I know the feeling of your hair being too tight. Like, I used to do, like, if I do a ponytail up top. Yeah. Oh, that's funny. That has to do with my ins and outs of the year. Okay, we won't say anything, man. But I, yeah, it sucks because, like, with a slicked back bun, you got to make it tight if you want it to last. But, man, it's.
It causes the worst headaches. Oh, who did Harrison show me a photo of the other day with a slicked back bun and it looked just like you? How do I not remember this? Kat Stickler? No, it wasn't her. And I thought, oh my God, I'm not going to get there. Was she like a famous person? Yeah, like she was online and he was like, that's Jordan. And I was like, that looks just like Jordan. Maude Apatow?
No. Wait, you need to ask him because... He's a new person. Oh, I'm so curious. I know. I'll see if he remembers. I'll ask him. I love to know who my doppelgangers are because sometimes it's such a slap in the face. No, this one. No, no, it's not. No, I believe this one is good. I was like, okay, if she's like an influencer, I bet she's like pretty. Yeah, no, that's my random like. You guys, it's a new year and we are prioritizing better sleep. purchase survey say that you heard about cozy earth from the mean girl podcast but yes okay so your 2020 biggest change in 2024 was tate moving to austin yeah i had like a year of change like big change having i became a mom i got pregnant that was new became a mom that was new and moved cities that was new yeah i would say that i did a whole bunch of new things yeah what about you um i
You moved apartments? I moved in with Pete. You moved apartments twice? Did you move? When did you move the first time to the Upper West Side? That was no. That was 23. Okay.
Right? Yes. It was August 23. Yeah. So then you moved in with Pete. Okay. So I moved in with Pete. I was dating him in 2023 though. So both of us, our relationships weren't new in 2024. I think they both got serious though in 2024 because you got, you had a baby with Harrison. Yeah, mine got real serious. And I moved in with Pete. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Okay. So that, like a step above. Um,
No, Just Media was 2023. Yeah. But I feel like we got this is the worst in 2024, right? Yes. Technically. That's right. Yeah. So I feel like it became like a real thing. Yeah, a real thing, like legitimized. What else? I feel like my life was very consistent in 2024. Like I said, like the year of balance, like my life just like balanced out. That's what you wanted. Yeah.
So much. Yeah. So, like, good. So that's a good thing. It was probably the healthiest year in the sense of, like, low anxiety. No, like, crazy moods, like, on and off. Stability. Stability. Like, a healthy relationship. Healthy career. Like, I mean, with your career... If you have a healthy career and relationship, you're pretty good. I mean, that's, like, so... That's the goal. Yeah. No, like... Yeah, I feel like... I also feel like you...
Yeah, you balanced. Yeah. Like, you balanced your social life. Like, you impeded more. Like, yeah, I feel like you just really had, like, a good, steady... Yeah. Yeah. That would be the... That's the goal. Do you know to, like, achieve that so young is, like, the goal? Peace? Like, peace? The only unfortunate thing is, like...
It won't stay like that. And then I'll get it again. And when I'm like, well, cause like if we have like kids and stuff, like your life will get like shaken up a little bit. When this, when the boat studies, you rock it. Yeah. And then, and then you'll go to calm waters again. Based off how much I've been talking about kids, people are like probably going to think I'm going to have a kid tomorrow. Did you want kids? And did you want kids this time last year? Um, I was starting to become open to kids when I met Pete.
Because I was like starting to get more just like feeling more love like in my heart around that time. And then but when I like started getting in a relationship with people more I've gotten more that the longer him and I have that. Oh my God I can't even speak. The more that him and I have been together the more I want kids. That's a good one for the suspect challenge for me to use on you. It's a really good one for me to use. I was thinking about him this morning. I was like what am I going to say.
- I know it's so funny. People are like so shocked still about kids. I'm like, people can change their mind, okay? - Totally can change your mind. - Like I would never say that like Pete fully changed my mind because I was starting to become more of him. But he, when you meet the right person, your mind definitely shifts.
Um, yeah, that's, it's like, it's like you, we were different. Like I wanted kids. I didn't know who I wanted them with. You weren't sure if you wanted kids. And then I think Pete slash you are becoming, cause you saw kids on the street. Remember? Yeah. I vividly remember. I saw a little boy and his mom on the street and I felt like this weird flutter in my heart. And I was like, Oh, I think this is that like maternal thing that people get. Oh no. Do I want kids? Ah. And I think that was actually before Pete. Yeah, it was. I remember you telling that story. Yeah. Yeah.
But it's so funny because my hairdresser in New York told me. I remember I was like, I'm pregnant. Like, can you still do my hair? And I like hadn't told that many people yet. And she was like, oh, girl, nothing like meeting somebody you want to have kids with. Like, you just you can't explain that. And I was like, thank you. Oh, my God. And like now when I see Tate, I'm just like.
It's like this weird feeling you get of just like pure happiness. Yeah. Because I felt that when, because a few of my friends in Fargo have kids. I like felt that, but not as much when I was younger. I'd be like, oh, they're cute. And then I would leave. But like, even when you post a picture of Tate, I'm like, oh my God, I want to squish her. You snuggle, right? Yeah. Like I just want like, yeah, she's up. She's sitting on the floor looking. She just brings so much happiness. I didn't have that like a year and a half ago. Yeah. And you said that you're, how did you just word it?
Your heart was starting to feel more love. Yeah. Yeah. I think that's a really... It is so like love, joy, warm. The whole feeling of like kids fulfillment. I like identify all those words together. And it is like...
We really had that like go go go go go New York kind of like energy happening and now it's very much shifted to like yeah love warmth peace. Yeah. Yeah. Because I even remember like I went through phase where I was like dogs. Ew. Animals. Like I just like hate what I it was because I just hated everything. Yeah. No question. And not like I was a pessimistic person. It was just because like I was still trying to like
work through things in therapy and like just like with crappy people that hurt me but once I like fully healed I was like animals babies boyfriend they say you can't love others so you love yourself and I felt that too I had to go through that too very much so that's probably a theme of 2023 to 2024 yeah it was like a and then to 2025 we're like taking it in but like
I never forgot when somebody told me like, yo, you can't love like Harrison or the baby or anything until you love yourself. So true. I was like, oh, I think that's like the biggest advice I would give anyone to who like wants a relationship. I just want to be like, make sure you love yourself first. Have to. You have to. Cause what did I see the other day that like, if you don't heal parts of you, it will start to, no matter what,
No matter what, it will start to ooze out at some point. Like, you'll be a coffee that just overflows and it'll start to permeate other areas of your life. Yeah. If you don't heal the past. It'll also... I feel like those areas will hurt your relationship too. No question. And you won't even see it coming. Yeah. A thousand percent. It'll just blindside you and you're like, how is this coming up? Fully. Even like little things. Like if Pete and I ever get into fights or anything, it's fully things I haven't like...
figured out 100% in therapy. No question. Same. Which, like, you'll never be 100% perfect, but, like, I'm aware, like, oh, I probably should work on that in therapy a little more. Did you hear the psychiatrist? Is that Dr. Shannon, the psychiatrist? Yes. Okay.
She's talking. Did you hear? So she said, what, 86% of conversations in the way they start in the same tone. So like how you start a conversation, like if you come at somebody with like harshness, then the conversation ends that way. Yeah. But if you start it really calm and sweet at 80, 86% of the time, it ends that way.
I really, that's actually so interesting. So fascinating, right? It really makes you want to deal with conflict in a different way. You want to go at it a lot softer because you're like, then we have an 86% more chance of it getting resolved. I thought that was fascinating. One of the biggest things I've learned in 2024 with conflict is not every conflict has to be a fight. Right.
Right. That's really good. Because growing up, that's just kind of how things were. If my dad had conflict, he would yell at us type of thing. So whenever I argue with Pete, he's always like,
it's just we're just having a disagreement it's not just we don't need to turn into a fight and i'm like i have to remember that because like i'm so used to every disagreement every conflict being this big blowout fight yes that's so powerful though these boys that can change us i love them for that i know and like my therapist always is like doesn't have to be a fight it can just be a conversation yeah we could just be talking she doesn't even like to call conflict she's like you're having a conversation
Yeah. That's a really good way to put it though. Like it's not that intense. Yeah. And I think if you call it a conversation, then you're like way, like your senses are like decent, like de heightened. Yeah. You're, you're more calm. And I feel like when people are calm, you can have the, you can talk. The thing I learned about conflict in 2023, 2024, 2024, 2024 was, um, like, um,
If I say it, he will receive it. So like there was an instance, it was back in like July. And I remember I like was like, just learn the lesson now or the dishwasher. I like wanted him to unload the dishwasher or something. And then like he couldn't read my mind. And then I like snapped at some point. He was like, wait, what's wrong? And I was like, well, I wanted you to unload the dishwasher. And he was like, okay, imagine this world.
all you had to say was like hey would you mind unloading the dishwasher like because I felt like shit that day I remember I was like so pregnant and just like but I really wanted the dishwasher unloaded he's like do you know happy I would have been unload the dishwasher I didn't even know the dishes were clean yeah and I was like yeah if I just would have said it if I just you know imagine what would happen if sometimes you gave them the playbook right said what was on your mind Dr. Shannon said that last night too she said a lot of people and
like guys want to help, but a lot of women just like expect them to read your mind. Yeah. But if a lot of guys are happy to receive, if you just tell them. I do that with Pete all the time. I always like, he's like, you know, if you just like ask, I would do it. And I'm like, I forget that you are a good person and we'll do that. Yeah. God forbid I asked him. If I would have asked nicely. Right. You'd probably be happy to do it. Do you have like an overall lesson you learned in 2024? Yeah.
Yes, a lot. If you know yours, say it. I have two. I feel like one, we kind of talked about this earlier today, like,
Being able to separate things. Like if you have a conflict at work, not bringing it into the house. Like allowing myself to just be like, okay, that was a work thing. It's not the end of the world. We aren't heart surgeons. Right. I'm not going to take that and bring it home and like ruin Pete's night about it too. That's really good. Still working on that, but that's a big thing. And then also something I just learned recently in therapy. But you know how you learn some things and they just like, they hit you like a slap in the face.
It was, she was telling me how we have a cup of coffee and we need to stop giving our coffee to so many people so you can save some for yourself. Oh, I saw you say this. Yeah. So I was like, that was really powerful to realize like the older you get, you should start giving your coffee or your tea to less people and like start saving more for yourself. So that was big because sometimes I get really hard on myself that I don't have like a million friends. Like we've talked about this a million times and she's like, it's okay to have just a few people. And she's like, the people who don't deserve coffee.
Some of your coffee, don't give it to them anymore. Give it to the people who can give it back to you. So that was like a big lesson I learned. Hold it close to the heart. I like that. I think what I learned was probably – like I know this is probably not – it's like kindness wins or like sweetness, like softness usually prevails. And I like really feel it with like her and –
Even like moving to a new city when you're like meeting new people, sometimes like the conversations, like let's say people want to default to like talking about people. You know, we always talk about how like that's a false sense of bonding. Like I've realized like time and time again, it's just like kindness wins. Yeah. In those like moments.
I think that even on social media, like the pendulum is swinging back of like, there's a new form of rich and it's like, rich is not your bank account. It's not the bags you have. It's not the clothes you wear. Like rich now is like the people in your life. And I feel that like more than ever of like, you know, your family, your,
how you talk to yourself, like how you spend your day. Like true happiness, like that's the new age of rich. And like I really feel that with like kindness and peace. And like so that would probably be a big one. I really like that because there's so many instances where like a service worker is just an asshole. And then if you're just – you're like just let it go. They're probably having a bad day. Or like so many times where I've wanted to like talk back to my family and I'm like –
It's not worth it. No. And like I feel so much better being more kind. Yeah. Like your side of the street's clean. Yeah. You know, and it's like that wins every time. And then just like it also makes you so much less like intense, you know. And so I think that and I feel that a lot with like a mom too because like your energy is limited of like what you have. Yeah. And so, yeah, kindness would be a big one. And then the other one is just, I don't know, everything shifted when I had her because it was –
It was like more joy than I ever thought possible. Also, wait, how do I want to say this? What would be the lesson from it?
Well, I think the lesson would be – I don't know. I guess it's not a lesson. That's more of like a theme where I think like parenting, like being a mom will be like my favorite phase ever, which I like didn't expect. Yeah. And so I guess it's always like be open to new phases and like what they can teach you because it like brought out a side in me that I was just like, wow, I like love this. And I don't know – I didn't know for sure how I would feel about it. And so I feel –
like lucky that I feel that way about it, but I don't think I expected it. So that could also be on a less large scale. It could be like a new job or a new friend or a new city, like being open to these like new chapters. Cause like this one will be forever, you know, but it'll be my favorite ever. And so I think that's probably it. She's smiling. She's so cute. Yeah. Do you have a resolution for 2025? Yeah.
so not at all yeah um because i don't think we had any like strict ones last year too because do you like resolutions no do you no they're just they just put too much pressure on yourself exactly i'm down for a one month at a time resolution i like a theme yeah like a theme or like an intention yeah but not like i'm gonna go because i hate this what i hate i'm gonna drink a
gallon of water every day. Like, no, you're not because February 1, you forgot. I'm going to go to the gym six times a week every day for the whole year. No shot. Or every week for the whole year. It's like, no, don't put pressure on yourself. Exactly. So I'm just kind of like, no. I think my theme is to get out of
That's my theme for 2025. My theme is Florida. I'm moving. My theme is... I was talking to Sarah, my old roommate, about this when I saw her over Thanksgiving. And she was like, I'm so happy with my apartment because I'm finally in an apartment I'm proud of. Before this, I was always looking for the next best thing. And that's kind of my theme for 2025. I'm ready to get to that place where...
I'm not like oh next year I'll get my dream apartment or next year I'll get my dream we love this it's like no I I'm like so happy and proud of my apartment I'm gonna finally buy like the nice furniture because it's not any I'll get it when I move to a to a house it's like no I'll get it and I'll bring it to that house love that that's my 2025 theme okay so it's like um stop delaying the dream like yeah go do it now and I'm at the age I'm gonna be 30 like Pete's
31 like yeah do it I I've been using that excuse for so many years if not now then when exactly okay I really like that I think my theme will be my theme right it's so funny because like my theme of December has been like not survival but like every every week is a bit different right now yeah you know what I mean so kind of like
So I guess, you know what, accepting what comes with ease. Not being so regimented, like, I really need to let go right now. You know, they say let go and let God kind of thing. Like, it's like let go and let the world, like, do its thing. And I feel like as a new mom, like, that would be the greatest gift. Yeah, like not being so tense. Harrison's very good at it. He's, like, just taking it as it comes. And, like, I just need to chill. That's how Pete is, too. I don't know if it's, like, a guy thing, but –
Just let things go. Oh, yeah. So easily. Yeah. If one day you're jammed up feeding and we're like, that's fine. That was the day. Yeah. The next day could be different. And so just like enjoy like and really enjoying the process, but like not being so regimented. And like genuinely giving less.
I don't know for some reason like I'm I'll say like that for sometimes I won't I was supposed to be like lefts f's about what um like what other people are thinking and doing like I want to do that more totally like no comparison yeah oh no comparison I do feel like that the comparison thing is on its is is finally on its way out yeah on social media I think
Less like showy? Yes. I feel that way too. And I also feel like once I leave New York, it will fully... Maybe that's why I feel that way. I think it could be because New Yorker just... You compare yourself to all these people who are living this life that...
is not reachable for the average person and I feel like when you get out of there you're surrounded by more people who like are just living like a normal life that's very that's very true yeah like yeah I'm it's so crazy I'm not even friends with like the New York influencers but still they play like they affect my life so much from like a comparison standpoint what's your city that you live in yeah and I'm like these girls are younger than me they're I have more followers they live in these like
$15,000 apartments a month. It's crazy. And I'm like, Jordan, why are you comparing yourself? Right, exactly. And then you have to ask yourself, do you want that? And I'm like, no, I don't want any of their lives. You know, and maybe you do, but maybe you don't, right? Like maybe you want different things. Yeah, so that's a big thing. Yeah. Do you want to know our themes from...
2024. Dying to know. F resolutions. No one falls through. Okay, we said that. Good for us. Set intentions, not resolutions. Okay, so what themes and tensions seem the same. Okay. And then JW doing dry Jan. Did you do it? I did. Yeah. Did you? I did. I fully successfully did dry January. I don't think I drink. I feel like every year I'm drinking less and less, but I'm not giving up wine for a month. Okay.
No, it's my little, my little enjoyment. Yeah, you can have that one. But we also did ins and outs for 2024. So do you want to hear what your, do you want to do ins first or outs first? Ins, I cannot, I cannot wait. Okay, so these were, so we picked these a year ago when we recorded this episode and we picked a couple ins that were, a couple things we thought were, we would, that would be in for 2024 and then a couple things we thought would be out for 24, 2024. So, um,
Alex, your end for 2024 was healing, taking time to properly heal. Okay. I love that. Yeah, I like that a lot. And then less structure. Used to be coffee, journal, read, workout. Don't put yourself in a box. I feel like... Oh, I mean, I had so much less structure. I could not coffee, journal, or read. Having Tate, like, totally did that for you. Destructurized. Okay. I mean, that's so funny, though. Like...
Not what I would have expected to destructure me, but like totally did. Yeah. Okay. My ins were, or my ins waking up earlier, which like 7 a.m. to 6 a.m. Actually, I did do that. Good. And it's, it's,
purely just from the standpoint, like I genuinely don't think like a morning person is better than a night person because if I was a night person, I would do the same, but in a different way. I think that like you only really get one or two hours a day where no one will bother you. And since I'm a morning person, that's like that 6, 7 a.m. But if I was a night person, I feel like it's like that 10, 11 p.m. Totally. Same, same. Yeah, it's that same time. And when I was waking up at 7 a.m., I noticed that I wasn't getting that. But waking up at 6...
One, I do because Pete, like, he wakes up early for work. So I just kind of have to. But it's every morning when I don't want to wake up Monday through Friday at 6, I'm like, but Jordan, you're not going to get that hour of peace that you would be getting if you would get up early. Yeah, it's an amazing habit. It's so amazing. And then my other in was Russian manicures, which is funny because...
I'm back on that train And they look so good I've been I mean I have been back on it For I think This is my fourth color So that's like Almost four months And I have to Because it's the only manicure That will last me Three plus weeks They look I mean they truly look so good Thank you I would I mean it was getting to the point Where I would get it done And it would last a week and a half Yeah that's like too It's too fast Yeah Yeah I love them That's funny that that's bad It's really Yeah what are the odds Okay Okay outs for 2024 Okay Um
Lots of makeup. Okay. I didn't wear any. I feel like... Fact. Fully. Working out. No way. I said that was out? Yes. Wait. That's funny. Okay. Yay. Really grungy outfits around the house. Out. Out.
Oh, that failed there. I mean, I could not have been more grungy. Wow. Okay. Wait, that's like you kind of premeditated having a child. I like must have like known somehow subconsciously. Mine is TikTok shop. Was out? Yeah. Still is. I hate that thing. Okay. You were really hating it then though. I do remember this. Yes. You were like mad at TikTok. I was. Yeah.
Hard alcohol fully still out and now it's giving you hangovers. Yeah, I I don't even want to touch hard alcohol Like i'm truly not about it. Those are my two You you started getting the hangovers though I feel like because didn't you take a shot like yeah in october and like it like leveled you oh my god Yeah for my friend's birthday and I the next day I was like my whole day is ruined Yeah, see so you're really out on it. Yeah, that's so funny um
Okay, so now we got to do our ins and outs for 2025. Okay, it's funny now. I know we're going to hold ourselves accountable. All right, you go first. Okay, this is what I think is in for 2025. I think short nails are in. I feel like a lot of people are cutting their long nails short. That's a great one. And both of us have short nails. Great one.
Yes Yeah You were correct Did I take one No Okay good I was like It was almost on mine I went I did something else That's like aesthetic Do you want me to do All mine and yours Or do you want to do Back and forth Let's go back and forth Okay what's yours Because I have It's similar Long hair I think is in
Long hair is in. Oh, I agree with that. I feel like 2024 was like the year everyone cut their hair. Yes. And everyone's regretting it. And everyone's like, we're going long again. What happened? Yes. Fully agree with that. Yeah. Yes. That's a good one. Are you doing ins or outs? Ins. Okay. Same. That was an in. So in is long hair and in is short nails. Yeah. So out, I guess the opposite of. Yeah. But I have specific outs. Same. Okay. Another in and no offense, but I think being a brunette is in.
Like a lot of blondes are going What? Bronze? Is that what it's called? So I almost did it The other day Because when you have a baby Postpartum my color strips really easily So I just She re-dyed it like I don't know if you can tell But like super blonde And it's already stripping though So I can't hold blonde It's like a postpartum thing And my hair is like greasier Because you like produce more oil
So I almost had her just like dye me dark, but I couldn't do it yet. I feel like so many people who used to be blonde are now blonde. It's so true. And it looks great. It's like a great color. It's the natural thing. Yeah. It's a very natural, like going more like grass rootsy. Yeah. Yeah. So I feel like, yeah, I don't think like black hairs and I think it's like the, like the light brunette. Yeah. Like the caramely thing. Yeah. Totally agree. Okay. I'd in his low screen time. Like I think we're getting off our phones. I think people are like sick of the phones. I agree. I agree.
Yeah. I feel like social media isn't as popular as it once was. No, and we're not scrolling. We don't care. It's more like, do your thing. Okay, so this one I thought a lot about, but I feel like high-end is back in. People are... I'm noticing a lot more influencers are starting to buy the high-end things. And I don't mean like...
I mean, like, the light high-end things, like the jewelry, the bags. Like, I'm noticing a lot of people are wearing, like, the very high-end jewelry, bringing around the very high-end bags. I don't think they're, like, wearing, like, head-to-toe in Versace. Right. I think it's just, like...
2024, I felt like a lot of people were like thrifting and getting things like from Target, this or that. But now I'm like, oh no, people are wearing like sweatpants and a sweatshirt, but they have like a Van Cleef, a tennis bracelet, and they're carrying around like a Gucci bag. Okay. I like that because I feel like it's less fast fashion. I do too. And then you're shopping less because you've already bought the item. There's nothing I love more than like having your hair, makeup, and jewelry in a nice purse and then wearing something else.
Exactly. Like then you're done. Like I'm so I'm so down for that. Yes. Yeah. I also think to like the pookie type of influencers kind of like people love that. Like she's very high end and like totally. And like you want to see it's aspirational. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. But it's not like gross mean high end. It's like the nice. No, it's not so unattainable. Yeah. And and I think to people.
If you buy one item for a year and it costs $1,000 as opposed to buying it every month and it costs $100 but you're just like regurgitating it, I feel like you'd rather just spend it once and put it out of your head. Yeah. I agree. Okay, I have out as self-care. Wait, is that – you don't have any more ins? Oh, wait. Oh, how many ins do you have? Oh, I have three ins. Oh, I have two ins. Oh, that's okay. Unless you can think of another one. Hold on. Let me think I can think of another one. I guess I had a couple. Wait. Let me get really – I got to focus in. Okay.
And then I have three outs too. Oh, do you know what I think is in? What? And maybe it's just because Morgan McGraw is making me think it's in. But no patterns. No flashy, like big flashy brands on you. Yes. I feel like it's like the classic staple neutrals. Like the classy high end. Yes, exactly. Yeah, in line with what you're saying. Yeah, you're not wearing like the...
Gucci sweatsuits out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like if this was like Gucci, just like no one knew it. Exactly. Yes, yes, yes. Gucci actually I think is kind of making a comeback. I went in there the other day and there was a couple of purses where I was like, these are stunning. They are classic. Yeah. Very like green. I was like, very like a
I also went in there. It felt timeless. Yeah. Very Jackie O. Yeah, I know. I was like, Pete, I want that. I'm just kidding. Pete, I like that over there. He was like, how much is it? I was like, $4,000. Their prices also have gone up at Gucci. They have. Yes. Because I walked in there because I was like, they're more of an affordable brand. I'm like, no, they're not. They went up. Fendi is cheaper than Gucci. I think everything went up, though. I think so, too.
Everything in general, like, just did a little... It always does that little jump. Coach is still affordable. Yeah. I love that bag. It's beautiful. It fits so much. It truly, like... It's the perfect bag. I've been using it as my carry-on bag, and I love... Like, you'd think it's, like, a little scary because it doesn't zip. Nothing comes out. Oh, I believe it. It falls all the time. They... And that is just, like, good quality leather. You can tell. Yeah. And, like...
There's a few little dents, but, like, it doesn't look bad necessarily. Not at all. I think it looks really good. But, um, and it's also very comfortable to wear. Like, I remember when you were saying, you were like, you have a heavy bag, but I'm like, it doesn't hurt. Okay, good. It's, it's, they don't miss. Like, their quality and, like, structure, they don't miss. Because I like how, um...
Your Neverfold has like a strap now because like the skinny things, those like dig into you. All I use is that strap. It's why I got it was because they started with the strap and I was like, oh yeah, I can do that. That was genius of them to add that on. So smart. Yeah. Yeah. Really smart. Okay. What are your outs? Okay. Okay.
Bear with me when I say this. Okay. And I literally had them on earlier and I was going to purposely wear them to this episode so people aren't going to be mad at me. But I think like the Nike Blazers dunks are out and I think more so what's in is like the shoes you have on, like the Sambas, like...
All that style of shoe. And I had my dunks on so I could tell people, like, I'm still going to wear them. Right. They're just not, like, cool like they were. Like, your shoes that you have on, those are, like, that's, like, the new thing. I mean, I agree. It killed me. Same. To not buy dunks.
but i'm trying the new things and these are new balance yeah and then like your sambas are so sick yeah and that's like i'm trying that but i mean but here's the thing dunks had its moment and they'll have them again like we have to keep them yeah oh my god they'll come back in again in three years or whatever but like i do agree i mean they're they're like a piece of art you can't you can't get rid of them you either have to sell them or like hold on to them forever and like keep them
They're timeless. Our daughters will wear them when they're our shoe size. They are awesome, but I agree that they're going out. Because the other day Pete was like, why don't you really wear your Nikes anymore? I'm like, they're not really in for us right now. I feel like heels are really in for girls right now. But if you're not a heel girl, I feel like it's the cool, funky...
tennis shoe brand that's turned itself into like a funky cool sneaker totally agree so it's like adidas new balances even hokas i feel like everyone's like like this is hoka
Who would have thought? Really? Yeah. That's their symbol? I did not know. I didn't know that either. I've been wondering all day what that symbol was. I literally bought it today because I needed another sweatshirt. Oh. And I walked past it and I was like, that's cool. It's great. And I love this color. But I'm like, the Hoka's are in style right now. They are. The Hoka's are in style. The New Balance, the other version of these, like the walking shoe. Yeah. Yeah. Kith is selling the, not these, but the...
Like walking shoe Which I like things Look like a grandma But like they're so in style Whoa That's wild But yeah So that's one of mine Okay that's good My out is I think self care is out
Yeah. What do you mean? I know it's crazy. Like, to what degree? Like, what are we talking about? I don't think, like, we're going home and doing, like, our face masks to, like, our gouaches to... I would agree. I think we're done with that. But, like, simple skincare. Please wash your face and put on your skincare and protect your face. Yes. But I think there was, like, this whole self-care 12, 24 step of self-care. And, like, I think it was... I think people got tired of it. So I feel like there's this massive fad right now where people are doing, like...
Hydration masks? Well, yeah, but they call it like their morning shed where they'll go to bed with like their heatless curls, their collagen face masks, their like mouth tape. That's not going to last. No, I agree with that. I'm in on the mouth tape thing. I haven't done it, but I am in on that. Yeah. But I don't think this like...
I guess I'm more so, yeah, the self-care of like the routine too much. Yeah. So I'm so down with you. Even I have like lowered my skincare routine. Like it's like a five-minute skincare routine now. Same. I've lowered it so much and like the self-care time, at least not every day. Yeah. I just don't have the patience. Same. That's a good one. My out, and I feel like you'll really like this. I think mascara is out. I feel like it's officially out though.
Totally agree. I think we're still doing less makeup. I think even if I were to take my extensions out, my eyelash extensions, I wouldn't go back to mascara. Really? It sounds like... I look at people doing their mascara and I'm like...
The work. That looks like so much work. The work. Like, you having... I actually debated between wearing mascara today or not. And I thought... Because my eyelashes are just so blonde. And I thought, would Jordan wear it? And I thought, oh, my God. Lucky. Lucky little brat. You look so good, though, without mascara. Like, you have, like, the features to pull it off. Yeah, but I do wish my eyelashes were darker. Like, and I didn't have to wear it, you know? Yeah. Um...
It would be so much easier. Like Pete, I wish I had his eyelashes. He has the thickest, darkest eyelashes in the world. Boys that have that makes me so mad. So mad. Jealous. I'm like, you guys don't need it. We need it. Yeah. Like I don't really think like necessarily like the clean girl aesthetic is still in, but I think that people are just, it's more of like a low maintenance aesthetic. Yes. Low maintenance. It's just very natural feeling. Yeah. I can totally picture it with the hair color. You were talking the blonde. Yeah. And like natural hair. Yeah. What's out for you?
Let me see. The other one that's out for me is – oh, okay. I think Hot Girl Walks are out. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. I don't think we're doing those anymore. I think... We are. We're not calling them hot girl walks. We're not... We're, like, throwing the inner... Like, we're not throwing our workout routine on the internet like we once were. Yes. We're not at all. It's just, like, you're doing it. Yeah. And that's it. It's, like... Unless you do Pilates. If, like, everyone just throws that. It's, like, I don't... I, like, unfollow people who just talk about what they eat and work out. I'm, like, you're toxic. I can't. Yes. Like, that's too...
It's too much. Like the food and the fitness online. I'm just like, oh, well, we're just living. Yeah. I can't. Yeah. The Hawkgirl walks. I feel like it's no longer called that. Nope. I feel like you can go on a walk, but like. Like if I see a girl like doing her Bala things, I'm like unfollow. Yeah. It's just like, we're just chilling. Yeah. I agree. My last out is I feel like New York City and LA are kind of out. Like I feel like a lot of influencers are moving to LA.
like Texas, Austin, Dallas, Nashville, a lot live in Arizona even. Arizona is so hot right now. Yeah. It's, I totally agree. Like I just feel like, and those are the people that I even want to follow more. So like I don't really follow any LA based influencers anymore. The New York people I, I do cause I live there, but,
I get really entertained by like the Nashville, Arizona, Texas influencers. Like those are my favorite people to follow. Well, I think too, because they live a life you can see yourself living. Yeah. You know, like it's more attainable again. Yeah. Yeah. I totally agree with that. Totally. And I find like attainability to be a little bit more entertaining than like
Like, I don't find, like, the fashion week and the high-end, like, crazy things that people do entertaining. I find, like, people doing, like, a grocery haul entertaining. Yeah, because you're like, I could also do that haul. Like, this was my experience. Yeah, I'm with you. Yeah. It's very fun to watch and, like, see what people are doing knowing you could, like, also do that. Yes.
My last one that's out is gossip. I think gossip is out. I hope so. Yeah. I think that like. I would love that. We just have different things to do. I agree. And I think it's more like I do think you can always have your safe people you can gossip with. But I think other than that, I think a trending conversation I keep hearing a lot about is people talking about like how bigger minds talk about other things. Yeah. And how like I think gossip being a false sense of bonding is like caught wayside and people are realizing that.
And so I think that'll be a trend. I love that. Yeah. Okay. So then to end, do you want to do a listener question or just recs? I'm cool with either. Let's do recs. Okay. What are like one or two recs you have for 2025? And they can be anything. Oh, anything? Anything.
I'm going to do products. Okay. I'll do products too. Okay. So my first one is I'm going to do a mom rec. Okay. Best thing that ever happened to me is the snoo. That's a good one. And if you're traveling, so we're traveling right now. In Babyquip, it's an app and you can have a snoo delivered. I think ours was $25 a day. They deliver it to the hotel and they pick it up from the hotel. It's clean. Everything's washed. So snoo and Babyquip. My rec is...
two things so one um I really think like a big purse like I I know I just got this but I actually use it every day and it fits everything and this have to be mine like I would love like yours too like just like a big we have so much crap so much crap get a big bag throw it in get a bag you love yes and then another recommend is and I think you love this too it's like a little skincare dupe or not skincare but a skincare duo that I've been doing I found a girl on TikTok told me about this I did not invent this so
You take your eye patches, but you mix it with your under eye cream. So I was never doing that. I was just putting the eye patches on. But now I apply a thick layer of my under eye cream, put the eye patches over it, and let it sit for like 30 minutes to an hour. And I noticed such a difference. I did know that one. Yeah. And it's a game changer. I like religiously do it now. Like before the eye patches, I like would do one like...
Once a day. But now I'm like, no, I have to do it. I'm with you 100% on that. It is incredible. Yeah, that's a really, really, really good one. Yeah, those are my two recs. Okay, my rec is the Skin Farm Detoxifying Pads.
Wait what was the brand? Skin Farm. Oh yeah. With a PH. Yeah. I started using those especially when I travel to like remove dirt and things. Been incredible. Oh I love that. Yeah. Really love those. And then my last one is I just get them on Amazon but the Dermaplanes. Oh yeah. I never did that before and I feel like it like helps my skin shed a layer. Obviously it's doing that and I've been doing that like twice a week. Oh I love shaving my face. It's so nice. It's great. Yeah I never did that before but like love them. Um.
Oh, and I guess like my other just last rec books, reading in 2025, that's my rec. Just it's like...
It's something it's the one thing I find entertaining that I can't use my phone with. And it's really helped me just like reduce my stress and anxiety because you should not be scrolling when you're anxious. No, no, no. And like that's why I think like low screen time is like such a thing. It's like get off the phone and go do something. I think it's like really powerful. And get on Goodreads and see what your friends are reading. If you need like help with books or this. I love Goodreads. It's the best thing ever. I scroll that more than TikTok sometimes. That's a healthy thing to scroll. Yeah.
Okay, well...
