We'll be right back.

I have a question for you, and it's kind of a scary question. Have you heard of the Lady Bird Texas serial killer? No, and I saw that. Now I have a baby and she has kids, and so our conversation was so different.

just because I had like jumped into her phase of life. Yeah, I love that. They literally said, oh my God, you look so tired. And I'm like, okay, I get it. You're like, I'm wrecked. I'm exhausted. And it wasn't even like a clubbing bachelorette. Imagine. Welcome back to another episode of Mean Girl Pod. How? We are matching. Always matching. And the nails kind of still. What does your shirt say? Oh yeah. Mine's the poppy shirt. Oh my God, it says Austin, Texas on it.

Oh, that's cute. Want to get juicy? Poppy, Austin, Texas. Are they from Austin? Yeah, the founders live here. Okay, I feel like so many founders live in Austin. It must just be like entrepreneurial heaven. It's unbelievable. Like whenever I think of a brand, I always look to see if they're here because most of the time they are. Like when we were talking about that Clarins brand the other day, you're like, yeah, they're in Austin. And then...

There was another brand, too, that I feel like you were talking about that was in Austin, and I was shocked. There's so many here, and a lot are moving here. And it makes it fun. Like, do you know Ken Euphorix? Yeah. Yeah.

So I was at a Pilates class the other day and there was this girl beside me. We were just like talking and she was like, I live down there. And I was like, oh, so do I. And then she like tagged the Pilates place and I clicked on it and she's the founder of Kin. And it's like everyone does something cool, which makes it fun to go out and meet people. Oh, I love that. Also, speaking of your workouts and your friends, I stalked Dr. Shannon and I love her content. It's so helpful. I've been using her workouts. Yeah.

You have? Yes. I've been doing a lot of her lower body workouts because she'll be like, no need to overexert or hurt yourself. These workouts work just as great and you can build muscle. And I'm like, I love you. Oh, I have to tell her that. She'll be really excited. Yeah, I followed her. I think she followed me back. I was like, oh my gosh, this is so cool.

Oh, cute. Okay, I'm going to text her after this and I'll say you've been doing her workouts. I love her workouts. They're really good. I just love a person who is educated and also like doesn't like simplify things like not necessarily dumbs things down, but just like makes it easier for the people who only get like 60 minutes to work out and don't need to like don't want to be bodybuilders.

No question. Yes. Yes. And she's like the bread and butter of that. Yeah. So, um, how have you been? How is the weather in Austin? Cause I am sweating bullets in New York right now. So funny. We are at like a two week cloud. Like the weather is just like clouds and like there's some rain happening, which is fine. Um,

But it's hot, but it's cloudy. And you're what? It's like really hot there? Yeah, so it's been, I've been back from Florida since Monday and I think it's been like 80 degrees every day. Like I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt and sweatpants or shorts. And yesterday I was wearing a tank top and shorts and I'm sweating.

80 degrees in New York. How hot does it get in like July there? Does it get to the hundreds? Yes, it does get to 100 in July, but I feel like it always just feels so much warmer in the city than, like it could be 90 degrees in New York and then 90 degrees in Brooklyn and Hoboken and it feels so much hotter in the city because all of the heat from the buildings. Oh my gosh, the building heat and the building sweat. Yeah.

It's like cement heat. It's like such a different, it's like asphalt heat, such as like a stronger kind of heat. I remember when I first moved to New York. And do you remember the first time you stepped foot into a subway in the summer when you moved to New York? It was, it was truly like I had walked into a sauna and I had never experienced anything like that before in my life.

What grosses me out is like your leg sweat is like on the seam or is like on the seat right but then like your leg is sweating we're like everybody else's leg is sweat that day and it just like grosses me out it's so gross I also so now that I use aluminum free deodorant it just like doesn't mask the smell as much as before so I I've been becoming like a double shower gal and now I'm like how did I not double shower in New York because when I get home from the end of the day I am like a sticky mess.

Oh, gosh. I bet. How's the bus? I actually haven't taken the bus in months because I've just been walking instead. That's right. Even doing your walks. Oh, I bet you do start to sweat, though. Oh, so much. Like walking here, I have to walk across Central Park, which is like a little over half a mile. And then I walk from like the subway station to here, which is like another a little over half mile, which I guess isn't that bad. But still two ways. It's like two and a half miles. Yeah.

so not horrible but in new york it's hot yeah that is hot what are your what are your roses and thorns so my roses and thorns i'll start with my thorn yes i always want to start with the rose but i need to start my thorn so my thorn is um i'm trying to think of the words for this like

What's the word of like you can't hang as well as you used to, I guess? Like when we were younger, like we would bounce back from like a weekend of drinking and going out better than we can now. Oh, I was going to say stamina, but like, I don't know. Yeah. Recover? Rebound? Oh my God. I don't know. Alex, I... Bounce back. Yeah, I can't bounce back like I used to. Like I truly feel my age. I'll get into the bachelorette in a second, but obviously it was a full weekend of...

even like drinking that heavily like I was just drinking wine but it was like staying up eating crap like uh junk food just like drinking not getting any sleep and I literally woke up Monday morning feeling like I got hit by a truck I was so puffy Pete literally came home from work on Monday he goes I

oh, you're, yeah, your face is really puffy. You were right. Like you could even pretend to be nice because I was that puffy. And I'm like, I feel like today's the first day where I finally feel like more so my self-exhaustion level. And it's Wednesday. I noticed. So we had a call on Monday and like you yawned. I don't know if Julie noticed, but like you kept, and I was like, oh, she's tired. She's so tired. Literally every call I've been on with people, they go,

They literally said, oh my God, you look so tired. And I'm like, okay, I get it. You're like, I'm wrecked. I'm exhausted. And it wasn't even like a clubbing bachelorette. Imagine. No, it wasn't. It was like, I mean, I didn't sleep that well there, but like I wasn't going to bed drunk. I was like drinking wine like I usually do. But I think too, it was just like, it was hot and like,

And go, go, go But yeah I felt like a balloon I was like Oh my god I'm so freaking puffy I feel like I ate a pack of salt The older we get The more reactive I think our body And our face And our skin Is like my eyes Like I These days I mean I don't know

will barely have two glasses of wine just because it's like, what's it all for? You know, like I don't sleep as well. And when I don't, what is better to me than a glass of wine any day of the week is a good night's sleep. That is way more fun. Yes. It's like, I literally looked like I had gotten five syringes of filler around my eyes because I would, my face looked stretched out from how puffy I was. I was like, I'm not okay. Yeah.

Yeah, and if I would have done this in college, I would just wake up and be like, boom, what did we do last night? I can't even remember. Right? And like your body doesn't even feel or look different. It's just, I mean, I was like, I got a de-puff before I'm about to enter 11-hour plane ride because I'm going to get 10 times puffier on that flight. Oh my God, what'd you do? I mean... To de-puff. I literally, so just made sure I was going to bed at nine every night. Like I...

literally popped a Lemmy, sleep, made sure I got eight plus hours of sleep every night, made sure I was going to the gym and sweating. And then I was just drinking like a crap ton of water. Sleep in water. Water is like, it's an unbelievable pill. I also was like washing my face.

I feel like that honestly didn't help that much, but I was like trying to gua sha the inflammation out of my face every night. Quick pause to talk about our sponsor Revolve. You know, there's this, that trend going around. It's like 24 hours before, like little did she know this would be her last

meal with her husband or something you know what I mean like something like that um I saw this like injector saying I little did I know I was about to perform a something like a tightening and a she did all these words on an influencer and then she would turn around and attribute it to gua shang I'm dead I totally believe that though

Right? Like how many people, I mean, we all know, but it's like, well, we don't all know for sure because that's not fair. But I thought that was funny. I'm realizing that, I mean, I always should have realized this, but like you really can't trust people on the internet. Like there was just another very large influencer who came out saying that she actually has been taking GLP-1s when she was telling her followers that she was losing the weight from, um,

and diet. And she also was selling a $200 exercise plan. And then now she's coming forward being like, oh, I've actually been on GLP ones on top of it. And people are like, what? Not only were you lying to us, but you were selling us stuff. Oh, that is so not fair. That just like makes me sad because I'm for it. Whatever you do, I'm fine with it. But it's one, it's just like so disheartening to see like pretending like it was something else.

And then selling it, like, I just think that's so, that abandons trust on the internet. It's just like, be honest. It was the girl who, she got famous from like a pickle. Something with a pickle. Not ringing a bell. A pickle. What was she doing with the pickle? She's like a food influencer, but she like blew up from making like- Oh, was she doing a pickle taco or something? Yeah.

Oh, not what I was thinking. I was thinking, didn't somebody did, like, so many different ways to eat a pickle? Cream cheese and bell peppers? Yes, yes. Cream cheese and bell peppers? Yes, who is that? With everything bagel seasoning? Yes. With everything bagel seasoning, yum. Oh, Janelle Roaner? Yeah. Busting Janelle, Julie says. Oh. Yes, wellness influencer Janelle Roaner says she took GLP-1s, but she, like, essentially lied to her following because she was –

She said, it says, the article says she had been selling a $200 macro one-on-one weight loss course for her followers. $200. Wait, and then why did she end up coming forward? I don't know. She has like a, she had like a, like this, this just happened two days ago. She came out with like a tell-all video. And I'm trying to see why. Did she refund everybody the $200? No, all I...

She just like I don't know if she just like decided to come clean or like what I'll have to look more into this. But yeah, she people are like furious with her because she was selling things to them. Says like she quoted. She said, I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm just trying to do the right thing. And I'm trying to be honest. Now, I could have kept the secret. I could have gone on for years and not told. I didn't want to do that. Well, girlfriend. Yeah.

I did not take GLP-1s because I don't believe in my classes and macros wasn't working. I did it for my personal health and reasons to use as a tool to hit my goals. And if people felt deceived by that, I really am truly sorry. Well, I don't have sympathy for you because you were continually selling the $200 course. Okay, she refunded anybody who bought it in the last 11 months.

Because that's when she started taking the GLP ones. Okay, that's good. I mean, I still don't think she should have ever sold anything while taking GLP. That'd be like me selling a moisturizer when I'm actually lying and getting facials behind the scenes. Well, and then I think saying you weren't getting facials. Yeah, and not disclosing that I'm actually getting like a chemical peel and lasers behind the scenes. I think it's okay if you're like... Okay, I found her. Okay. Um...

Let me see. Let me just check out the... Yeah, I'll send you the article too. Okay, fascinating. Yeah, I think that it's fine if you're like selling your moisturizer. Like...

I think there's a way to do it. And I think that it's just, it's hard because she's like in the fitness lane. I don't know. Yeah. If you were selling a moisturizer, you'd have to be like, I also get facials. Yeah. This moisturizer is maintenance. It's like, as soon as you take that GLP one pill, you got to disclose that if you're selling a weight loss program, that's just, I mean, I'm surprised anyone in her inner circle allowed her to do that. That's wild.

Yeah, I totally agree. I'm glad she reimbursed everybody in the last two or 11 months. I bet she had made a lot of money on it. Oh, yeah. She's like a huge influence. She has over like 5 million followers. Oh, wow. Wow. Okay. Well, that is just quite the story. Yeah. I don't know how we got here, but what's your rose? Or thorn, I mean. What's your thorn?

Okay my thorn is that Tate had a stye in her eye and it was it hurt her really bad and she would blink and she was like so sad and it was really sad for me so that was like we can power through styes right we like we've all had them but like a little baby gets something to like the smallest magnitude it's so sad. How does a baby get rid of a stye?

Just warm compresses, which she didn't like. But I will say, we were very thorough with the warm compresses, and so we got it out. But yeah, that was sad. If you ever get a sty, let me know, because I got this. I don't know if babies can use it, but it's this facial eye cleaner. And when I started using it, it dramatically got rid of my sty I had a few months ago. It was great.

Like it works, it like worked quickly, you're saying? Yeah, I just like, I do it regularly now because I fake eyelashes and I think just like I can't clean my eyes well, but it's just like a bacterial spray that's made for your eyes. So I just spray it every once in a while and it just like cleans off all the bacteria. Oh, that's really smart. Yeah, I just got off Amazon. Amazon?

Okay. Well, I mean, honestly, probably a good thing. And Julia reminded me of this, but like my mom always told me growing up, like don't share like mascara with people or like eye makeup. And that's like ingrained in me, but I never really knew why I wasn't doing that. But it's because the bacteria can be passed from your eyes. It's kind of like, oof. I know. That is one thing that's nice is that since I have eyelashes, I can't or fake eyelashes, I can't use mascara or any eye products. So I don't have to worry about that. But yeah, I remember in dance...

People are always like just don't share mascara just don't share your mascara yeah and it's tough because like people will ask sometimes like can I just borrow that and it's like oh I'll like throw the tube away same it's so gross yeah I'm like oh gosh can't be having that um what was your rose because then I can do my rose last we can dive into the the bachelorette.

Okay, so my rose was, remember how it was like three or four listener questions ago, maybe even longer. The girl asked us about her friend copying her for her wedding coming up. Oh, yeah. And she was like, everything I do, my friend is doing, and like, I just feel copied. And I felt like you and I, like our main thing we were saying is copying is a large form of flattery, right? That was like our one sentiment. And then yesterday or the day, I was listening to Mel Robbins on this podcast, and she was saying,

And I thought this was really was, I wanted to deliver this to the class because I thought this was good for that girl. I wish I could tell her this. Maybe she's listening, but nothing. The only person that can take anything away from you is you. So I thought this was fitting for the wedding where it's like, this girl has her coffee cart, right? And it's like, you don't give the power to your friend to take that away from you. Even if her wedding's first, like you have your coffee cart, you're excited about it. The only person that could steal anything away from you is you.

And then So it's like In a vacuum Her friend doing What she's doing Really is It's out of her control But like her coffee cart Makes her happy And she chose that And I think that's really cool And then

the other thing because I get it as girls like you're competitive about your weddings right like they mean so much to you and so then she goes on to talk about like success is the same way and I think when you're getting married your wedding is a version of like success for you right it's sort of like your presentation at work like it means a lot to you and then she was saying like everybody can eat like she doesn't say everybody can eat but I always say everybody can eat and

And like, there's enough to go around, right? There's enough success to go around. And like, you can't be so competitive that like, you don't want her to have that. Right. Because it's like, actually you can both have it. And that can be true for both of you. Even if she got the idea from you, there's enough to go around that like, there's enough joy. All of the people that come to your wedding will be just as happy for you as they are for her. Like the only person that can steal that joy away from you is yourself. And I thought that was really good.

I love that. And I think that's just like a great lesson to always have in the back of your head. And just remember, like at the end of the day, like you are the only person who should be in control of your emotions and that can control your own emotions. Like it's just so important to remember that.

Yeah, like this girl can't actually take your coffee cart from you. Exactly. You know, just you. And so when you put it, when you like reshape that, I like I've been searching for something to sort of like fill that for this girl. And then when I heard that, I thought, oh, that's really good. So that's my rose. Yeah. Also to like when if someone makes you upset or take something from me or there's that usually it's has nothing to do with you and it has everything to do with them. And like remembering that and knowing that like what's happening is

Is out of your control And just knowing that you can control your emotions That helps me a lot in situations Yeah and Mel was talking about how Like she used to be like If one of her friends was successful That meant she couldn't be

Right. And, and, and then she's learned like, no, all of us can be like you lift one up, we lift them all up and we lift ourselves up. Like we're not competing against each other. And I think I like love that kind of energy. I think that energy is important. Um, and I, so this isn't my rec, um, but I do want to tell everybody the episode cause I keep listening to it like over and over. Okay. It's re it was the reinvent yourself on April 6th. Um,

That episode, How to Let Go of Past Mistakes and Create a New Version of You. Interesting title because it talks about a lot more than that, but that's the one. You said April 6th? Yeah, the April 6th episode of the Mel Robbins podcast. I'll have to listen to that. I love Mel. You never end up reading her book, did you? No, and the reason I'm reading a new book actually, but the reason that I haven't read her book is I feel like I've listened to enough episodes that I know the book. Maybe I'm wrong. Bless you.

bless you but no i never read it thank you did you read it no i felt i felt the same way as you i felt like we i i listened to the let them theory episode and i felt like that was like a good enough nutshell for me quick pause to talk about our partner cozy earth you guys alex and i are so obsessed with cozy earth she uses their sheets every single night and i use their pajamas every single night

He's kind he's I actually I think he's a religious guy but the book is not oh he's a lawyer American lawyer okay um is he like a famous lawyer though that name sounds so familiar he's like I think he's a motivational speaker type Bob Bob Goff book hold on what's oh everybody always what what's it about like what would be like a quick summary I know people love your book recs and you haven't you haven't given a book rec in a while this is a soft fuzzy book rec um and

But this book is, and I'm new reading it, but it's basically about leading with love. Like it's kind of like a book rooted in kindness and how you approach everyday situations and like the lens in which to approach it to. Very soft book. Very sweet. Oh, I love that. It's a nice little change of pace. Yeah. And there's a workbook, I guess, that goes with it that I didn't know about that I'll probably get because I do like, I like journaling with them. Yeah. Okay, cool. I love that.

Okay, what's your rose? So my rose is the bachelorette party. Tell us about it. It was...

So much fun. Like, and I'm saying, I mean this in like the nicest way possible to every single girl out there in the world. But like, usually when you have a room of nine girls, a room of three plus girls, you expect there to be some type of drama. I'm not kidding you. There was not one ounce of drama at this bachelorette party. It was incredible. I was like, what's going on?

That's a testament to Madeline though Like the cast of characters That she keeps Right? That everyone was like mature And there was just no drama Yeah and I think too Like it was really fun Because we all know each other But we all live in other parts of the country now Like some in California I'm on the East Coast Some in Minnesota Some here and there That we all haven't been together Since pre-COVID So a lot of it was like Instead of just like

being around people you know well and like bitching and moaning. We were like catching up and talking about like funny stories and just like catching up on each other's lives. So it was more of like storytelling and rehashing like old funny memories. So it was just like fun and lighthearted conversations and like a lot of laughter versus like, oh, we're a group of girls who see each other every single weekend. So it's just like gossip. You know what I mean? Like there was none of that.

Yeah, there's like no inner workings, which is nice. Like, oh, you know, so-and-so, they've never gotten along. It was like there was none of that energy, which I think is really important. The thing that I thought was cute was like all of you guys in the car. Yeah. It was like really cute. I was like, I like this energy. Like they're all in the car together. Like all the seats are full. And that to me is – that's a really fun vibe. Yeah, it wasn't – like we didn't do anything –

It was extraordinary, which I loved. Like, it was all very low-key fun. Just like, like we did a bougie bonfire one night where we went to the beach and they set up a bonfire for us. That looked awesome. That looked, it was really pretty. You would have loved that. Like, it was so beautiful. Like, the sunset and like the beach is like this white squeaky sand and the waters. Have you ever been to...

Like the 30A area in Florida? I forgot if I've asked you that. Yes, yes, I have. Do you know which part? Well, I've been to Rosemary, 30A, Watercolor, and Destin. Oh, okay. So we were like right in Watercolor. Okay, yes, I know it. Yes, yes, yes. Watercolor literally looks like it's out of a movie set. It's insane.

It's unbelievable. Wait, did you guys rent one of those like beautiful houses? So our Airbnb was, it was like a mile from downtown watercolor and it wasn't like a really beautiful house. Yeah. In like a little gated area. Oh my God. Yes. They're like the best. Oh, that like area. It's funny. We actually were like talking about going there because there's a direct flight from here, which like matters. But what was I going to say to you? Oh, I love that you say you guys didn't do anything wrong.

So novel? Not at all. Because what I've realized is like you can have the most extravagant bachelorette party on the planet, right? But it doesn't matter. The people matter. The memories matter. The vibe, like everybody's attitude matters. It doesn't matter how much money you spend, how many clubs you go to, any of that. Like that doesn't make the memories. The memories is the people. Oh my God, yeah. My favorite two memories is one, making an early grocery run,

with a couple girls and I just was like we were just laughing and then the other was just like sitting at this restaurant or this bar restaurant on the beach and we were all just sitting and talking to each other like some girls would go out and shop come back this or that and it was just I don't know I just like I haven't had I told Matt on this I haven't had fun

That much fun with, like, a group of girls in a really long time where I'm, like, belly laughing and, like, not getting sick of anyone. And it was just so fun and exciting. Like, I was... I hope she... I know she had a blast, but, like, I just hope if she listens, like, she knows it was, like, the best bachelorette ever. Oh, that makes me really happy to hear. I think that, like, grocery runs are underrated before... It's like the lake grocery run, right? Like, before the weekend, it is...

So fun. Also the bags that she had or that like the welcome goodies that she had for you guys were so cute. She did all of that. Like she was, she contributed so much to this bachelorette. It was insane.

That is like amazing. Okay, so your favorite two memories. What's like another one? How was the bonfire? Did you guys, did they make the food or did you guys bring the food? Did you order pizza? Yeah, so we, so the bonfire, they don't, you can do like a whole food setup and all this, but it's like so much extra money. So they even recommend, they're like just,

order pizza. So we just ordered pizza, brought some more stuff and then they take care of the rest. And it was so much fun. I was bummed because it was only two hours and those two hours went by so fast, but it makes sense because it's like during sunset hour. So I just wish it would have gone longer. Like all of us were like, wait, we have to leave already.

Yeah, that would fly by. But what's so nice about this, these, I see these, these people that set up these beach picnics, right? It's genius because like you want to have a beach picnic, but like you do not want to pick it up afterwards. No. And there was like five going on at the same time. Like the whole rundown of the beach was like different beach bonfires. Like this was bachelorette nation. There's bachelor parties everywhere. So I was like, oh, this is like a legit business.

But good for them. Like how fun. And like if you tap into the market and like you get it, like wow. Also, so what –

What day did you guys just like post up? Cause I love posting up and then you just like kind of drink and everyone can run around the town. That was, um, Saturday. So the, the day of the bougie bond fair, cause we knew we weren't like going to get ready and go do anything. Cause the night before it was like the private chef and stuff. So we like dressed up, which also, if you guys want to save money, a private chef is great. Cause you get so much food for a really reasonable price and you don't have to cook or clean. They set up everything swiftly catering. Shout out to them. Uh, and, um,

The Destin area. Like, they literally brought glassware, left everything spotless. So nice. I, like, didn't expect it. I was like, oh, guys, we have to make sure we have plates and stuff. And they, like, showed up and they're like, no, we have the plates and the dishes. And I'm like, what? Oh, that is a dream. Like, the less is more. Right? What did you guys do for other meals around the house? Did you guys cook? I'm trying to think. So...

We did a massive grocery run and we bought so much food. And we had that like sitting there for everyone to eat. But we went to brunch one day. Breakfast was kind of like grab what you want. And then we did brunch and we had dinner planned for both nights. Oh, we did a charcuterie board and sandwiches Thursday night. But other than that, it was just like eating at the house. And then dinners were planned.

That's so nice. I mean, it sounds like it was relaxing, but so fun. Yes. And like when we got back to the house, like you could nap, you could relax, you could sit on the deck. Like there was it was so nice not having like a really stern agenda. Yeah. Like hurry everybody and get ready for X, Y, Z. Like you weren't exhausted, like you were tired, but you weren't exhausted afterwards. Yeah. And like we let Madeline sleep in till so like we weren't rushed in the morning and it was just like.

Nothing was set until the evening. So we just never felt like we were on this set agenda. Like we got to go, go, go, go, go.

Yeah, that is so... Did you guys do the bring, like, lingerie for the bride? Yes, we did that. It's one of the games everyone brought underwear, and she had to guess who gave it to her. So we did that game. Oh, that's fun. Yeah, it was fun because then she has a bunch of new underwear. We did that game, and then we did... Obviously, like, we ask her fiancé a bunch of questions, and he answers them, which was so cute to see. And then...

We did? Oh, we had, like, Bridal Trivia and we had a couple other games. I'm, like, blanking on what they were, but we had, like, a whole game night. Okay, that's really fun. I love when people ask the groom questions and then they play it. I think that's so sweet. It was really sweet. I think, like, the biggest takeaway is truly you do not have to have, like, an over-the-top bachelorette party. I think the most important thing is, like, having more time for quality time versus, like, a go-go-go agenda because...

If it's like I was thinking, like if we had too much planned, like none of us would, we would all be like irritated. Totally. And the older we get, like the more that I think bachelorette trips, because you're traveling, like they should feel like a vacation for everybody. I think it's tough when like people are working and taking off or like they have families and then like they go on these bachelorette trips and then they just drain them as opposed to being like, I had a blast, you know? And so I think that's really fun. Yeah. The best part of the bachelorette was that

We only like the only alcohol we bought was wine and champagne except one case of high noons because one of the girls likes them. Other than that, we bought like 20 bottles of wine and champagne. I'm like, this is my type of party. That is I think I saw the fridge. That was only one run. We had we drank all of that like in one day. So we had to go back to the liquor store the next day.

But I always think wine and champagne is a little less of a hangover than like tequila. I know. I was like, you know, you're 30 when no one at the bachelorette party wants like a handle of tequila or vodka. Nope. No, no. Oh gosh. It just makes me, I mean, I haven't had a hard alcohol. I don't think this year, like, because it just, Aperol spritzes, man. That's like the jam. Cause it's just like, it's a little bit of alcohol.

Champagne and a little bit of Aperol Right Do you have Are any of your girlfriends From Oklahoma Single or is everyone married? Oh I would say Like it's so funny Like you're in wedding phase I'm in baby shower phase For sure Like my friends are like Going on kid number two From Oklahoma Or three Yeah because you went home For Sydney's Baby shower right? Yes Yes so I went home For Sydney's baby shower And it's so funny Because So

obviously we know Sydney and Nugget and like Nugget was pregnant when I was pregnant. And so I've hosted baby showers before, but the ones that I had hosted before I was not pregnant. Right. So I was a bit like you're throwing them. Right. But you don't really like get what it's for. And then with Nugget, like that baby shower meant a lot to me because I was also pregnant, but with Sydney, like now having a baby, it was really excited. I was like really excited. So first, and

And I was just like, now I know what we're playing for. So it was kind of like a different lens. And it was really sweet. Two questions for you. One, where did you get your white dress you wore? Because I loved that. So have you heard of this? And they sent it to me. So thank you. The Wolfgang? No. Is it a store? It's like, I don't want to butcher this, but it's their own. It's there. The Wolfgang is on the label.

And they also sent me like a purse and that also says the Wolfgang on it. Oh, it's a store. Yeah. I don't know if they white label things. They have one in New York that I always used to walk by in Soho. So that's where it's from, but they sent me two dresses and they're both so cute. Wait, what is this white label mean? They like take a designer and it's refurbished or what does that mean? Yeah. Like I think like Trader Joe's white labels food. So I think that's the term white label. I don't,

Okay, Jules says she thinks it's just a brand. Okay, so they are their own brand. Their clothes are so cute. Oh, Jules is saying they sell it at Revolve. Okay, shout out to the Wolfgang. Everything is so cute. I think that I like love their stuff. I saw that dress and I was like, I am obsessed. I love like the little green stitching on it and stuff. Oh, it was so cute. It would be really cute for Hawaii. I know. Twilight tomorrow. Yeah, you don't have time to get it.

Okay. Love that. And then my second question was, how do you decide like who, oh, I see your dress right here. Okay. Cute. And they have like a longer one too. I love that. Oh, do they? Yeah. Oh, I would like that. Okay. They actually have like a whole, oh my God. Okay. I got to stop shopping right now. This is so cute. How do you decide like who plans Sydney's bachelorette or like who planned Nugget if like there's like a group of you that are friends? I never understood who plans a bachelorette party or sorry, the bridal shower. I mean, baby shower. Baby shower.

Funny I planned Sydney's bachelorette and baby shower I would okay so like the way that we've always done it is like mom's friends or the mom to be his best friends right so like Sydney's mom's friends are

right or like sydney's friends so there was a mix of moms and daughters that hosted it there was i think 10 total of us that hosted it and like that's the way it's always been done for us that i've known is like friends like close friends and some family quick pause to talk about our sponsor

Interesting that it's between, I can understand the friends, but it's interesting that it's like the mom's friends who might plan it.

Yeah, like mine. So I had a family shower, which like my aunts and my cousins planned. And then I had a friend shower, which my friends and my mom's friends hosted. Interesting, because I can't remember if I'm getting this mixed up with bridal showers or baby showers. But I feel like from what I understand, the baby shower has always been planned by like a sister, the mom or the boy or the husband's mom and sister.

So I'm wondering if that, if it actually is a regional thing, because in Vancouver, Harrison's mom and sister, they did. They had the baby shower and then they invited all of their friends. And that seemed to be like a very normal thing that you do there. So like maybe it is sort of regional because, okay. So like also, for example, like a bridal shower, right. That's usually hosted by like,

A mom or a friend or an aunt that, like, means a lot to you. Yeah. Because besides you, I only have two close friends that have babies. But they're in North Dakota. And they're surrounded by family. And I wasn't able to go to there. So, I can't remember. But my cousin just sent me her baby shower invitation. But I think it was...

Oh, wait, it might have been her mom who sent it to me, but she texted me from my email. I think it was her mom. I wonder who's throwing it. Because, like, the other day I saw this influencer and, like, she was at her baby shower and her mom had thrown it for her. Yeah, like, I would assume for mine it would be, like, a mix of...

Pete's mom and my mom that's like what I would I would like a thousand percent assume I would never think that a friend would because I always feel like friends it's like bridal shower and bachelorette and then as soon as you have the baby gets tossed to like the mom I know it's so fascinating that you say that because that does actually make sense but like my mom was invited to mine right like she wasn't hosting them it's like so funny did I don't know did Sidney's have a theme

Yeah, animals. Animals was the theme. So cute, right? Don't you die? Because she's not finding out the gender. I was just going to ask you. Yeah, and so it was so sweet. And it was fun watching her open gifts because they were like gender neutral gifts. And I don't think I've ever been to a baby shower before.

Where they didn't know the gender. And I loved it. I like, I loved seeing what everybody got her. Also like, it's so funny. The gifts I used to give versus like the gifts I give now. Very different. I gave her like a bottle washer thing. And I was like, I know this is weird and it probably means nothing to you, but like I use this 17 times a day and I love this thing. So it's just funny. A thousand percent. Did Harrison and Tate go?

No, they didn't end up going. They stayed here. I think they had an absolute blast. I like, I literally think this man thrived. And the reason they didn't go was I either had to drive. So I,

When we drove from here to Dallas for a hockey game, like, I don't know, two months ago, it from here to Dallas is three hours. It took us six hours, I think with her. And so if I drove from here to Oklahoma, it would, I seriously think it would take me half a day. I think it'd be 12 hours with her. And then the flights, there's no direct. So like I was connecting and I left at 5. AM. So I got up at 3. AM. Like it just would have wrecked her. Like it just wouldn't have been fun for her. So yeah,

They didn't go simply logistically. It would have been like, they actually really wanted to go because Sydney, I wanted Sydney to see Tate and I wanted Harrison to come. Like there was like a whole bunch of things that I wanted to happen. And I just looked at him and I was like, it feels selfish to take her. Yeah. Yeah.

Oh, a thousand percent. At this point. Like I was like, that's not nice to her. Like she will not have fun. No. And like, since you're planning it, I'm honestly, I'm sure it was so much easier for you to just like run around and make sure Sydney had a great time than taking, making sure that like Tate's okay. Harrison's okay. This or that. But I was asking, cause I wanted to know if, um, if Claire's baby and take out to meet yet. Cause they're the same. They're very similar age, right? Yes. They, they actually did meet though. They've met, um,

They're a month apart. Oh, that's so fun. Yeah, they met back. I can't remember. But they've met one time. But I want them to hang out again. Like, I really... I now have this, like, new thing that I want to do, which is travel. Like, we've traveled with Tate, but we haven't done, like, a couple's trip with another baby. Yeah. And I think, like... Because it's fun when families travel together. So, like, that I'm really into. Isn't it so weird? Well, first, I guess, question, like...

Your mom's best friend, your mom and dad's best friends, kids. Are you close with those kids? Adults? It's Sydney. Oh, city's mom and your mom are best friends. Yeah. Were they growing up though? Or were they, I'm talking about like, um, the friends that your mom grew up with and your dad grew up with. Oh, okay. Okay. Cause they, they, they were mom friends. My mom and Sydney's mom met like, like adult years. Um, okay. So who did my mom grow up with? It would be like the Sydney's or the nuggets in your life.

Okay, I'm trying to think. I know my dad's friends. Like, I know, like, I know in his case, yes. And I, like, I'm not best friends with the kids, but I know them all. But isn't it weird how, like, we're not, because I'm not either. But, like, I can't imagine, like, you can't imagine, I'm sure, Tate not being, like, best friends with Sydney's kids or Nugget's kids. Like, just like when Madeline has Kids Wednesday. Like, I can't imagine our kids not being in each other's lives forever. Like, that seems so weird to me.

Okay, so my mom had this friend, Teresa, who was her best friend growing up, now I'm remembering. And whenever I was like zero to 10, I remember I would see Teresa. I like went to Teresa's house one time in Dallas. But now like...

If Teresa listens, all I know is that you are beautiful and sweet, but I couldn't pick Teresa out of a lineup. Like I don't know her now, but when I was younger, I know it was a big priority, but it's funny now. Yeah. Like I think I know my mom's best friend she grew up with. Cause like my mom stayed in the town that we grew up in and I was like,

I like knew her friends' kids. Like we were like friends, cordial, but none of them were my best friends. Like none of them were like my ride or dies growing up. So that's what's so funny. That is so funny because I've like forced my kids. I beg you are going to be friends with my best friends' kids. Okay. But Teresa moved. So maybe that's why. But also, okay. Also funny. I moved.

Right. So like Sydney does live in Oklahoma City and my mom does. But Teresa lives in Dallas and now I live in Austin. So I wonder if that is why. Like are your parents from Oklahoma City?

Yeah. And so like they're still there. And my dad's high school friends like that haven't moved. I know they're kids. Right. But yeah, that's that's really interesting to think about. Like, huh. I wonder, too, if just social media will help us help our kids stay close because it's just easier to like maintain long distance friendships now.

Oh, that's a really good point. It is easier. And like with these long distance friendships, like I realized like some of my friends I saw at the shower, I'm like, I do not need to talk to you every day. And I just feel like, boom, like I know exactly what's going on. I know what you did last night. Like one of my friends, I was like asking her about her Instagram story and it and it's just like, I feel like I'm with it. Yes, I agree. Wow. It's so crazy that like.

Now that Sydney's about to have a kid, like all your close friends in Oklahoma city, like you guys are all in the same phase of life. Yeah. But it's funny because like, I wasn't right. I was like, I felt like I was so far behind them, but then boom, like everything can change. Like you just, you get pregnant, you have a baby and then like you're, you're in mom mode. And so then you are on that same playing field. And so it's so funny, but like so many people at the shower, um,

Wait, do I do? No. Okay. Not all of them had babies. But I was like, a lot of them have kids now. It was funny because I hadn't seen some of them in a long time. Like, for example, my friend Allie. I used to see, I've always loved Allie. But I never, like, Allie has kids and I had never had kids in the past, you know, five, ten years when I was talking to Allie. But now I have a baby and she has kids. And so our conversation was so different just because I had, like, jumped into her phase of life. Yeah. Yeah.

Which I think is really cool. It is very fun and interesting to, like, it's like, I don't know the right word I'm thinking of, but like, if sometimes when you feel like you aren't close with a friend right now because you're in different phases of life, like that, those phases can match up so quickly or down the road. And it's like, it just changes your friendship dynamic depending on the phase you're in.

totally and like you don't know what like you don't have any perspective or context of what they're going through and tell and like you can try to be there for them and tell them you're in those shoes and it's like wow this gives me a lot more context just because I'm feeling it like you know yeah I just it's very interesting yeah I love that it's just you know it's baby shower bachelorette season bridal season I feel like it's the bee season

I feel like some of Harrison's friends are in wedding mode. Like the last two weddings we've been to have been for him. Interesting. But I think they get married later, obviously, than they do in the South. His friend group.

Oh, okay. I see. In Canada, do they get married later on in life or sooner? I mean, I know Harrison's different, but he's like traveled and lived in America most of his, I feel like his adulthood. But like if he lived in Canada, still, do you think he would be married? I don't know. Just, I just, I definitely think they get married later than...

Like southern standards. I don't want to call them standards, but norms. Sort of like the south, I feel like we get married sometimes 20, I mean, really can be as early as you think. And then for him, I feel like in Canada, yeah, I definitely feel like it's later. For sure, I would say, I guess. Yes, actually, because I'm thinking of his high school friends. And some are married, but I don't think they've been married for that long. So yeah, I would say they do later. Interesting. Interesting.

Oh, before I forget, I have a question for you, and it's kind of a scary question. What? Have you heard of the Lady Bird Texas serial killer? No, and I saw that. What is it? So I saw this a while ago, and I was like, I was going to bring it up on the podcast, but I was like,

Okay, it's one video. But then I saw it again this morning. And I was like, okay, I gotta ask Alex and Julie and Priscilla if they've heard of this. Because apparently... So a ladybird is at a... That's a lake, right? Yeah. So apparently there's a lot of...

or like people being found murdered around this lake. I think they're only males, just as FYI, only the males, but they all have similar, they're all found like drowned in the lake and no one's thinking, like all the police don't think they're connected. But what's interesting is that like a lot of the men are, it's like all happening in very, very similarly. The men tend to have like blood force trauma and then being drowned. It's not like they were just drowned, but,

And there's a lot of similarities with this case, but no one's like coming forward and saying it's a serial killer. But I was just wondering if you've heard of anyone talking about like the murders happening.

No, and I live right by Lady Bird Lake. Julie has something. Okay, they're always drunk people from Rainy Street, which is like our young bar street. And I think they're males, right? Okay, there was like 11 men killed and now there's been one or two females. How have I just like not heard of this more? Lady Bird Lake is, I mean, I can walk to it. Also, how has like this not been more talked about? 11 people is huge and now two more? Yeah.

Somebody is just like preying on drunk kids walking around. So like I, I guess, I guess number one, it's obviously lack of awareness because I don't know about it and I live here. But two, if like now hearing this, because I assume it happens all at night because like during, during the day, Lady Bird Lake is like a lap that you walk and it's just like, it's as safe as walking around New York with broad daylight because there's just so many people around. But at night it would be crazy.

so scary to walk around there by yourself. So is it near Rainy Street? Like, do you have to walk past it? Or like, how? You could definitely walk from Rainy Street down and get right on the path and like walk around. Interesting. I also heard that there's like

a serial killer in the Connecticut area too. Like there's a lot of, this is also just on TikTok, but there's been a lot of killings in like the Connecticut area and like,

I don't know if it's moved up to New Jersey or if it's just, like, the New Haven, Connecticut area. But there's been, like, eight different killings and, like, the police refused to connect them. So they can't say it's a serial killer. But people are like, what are the odds that, like, they're all similar killings in the same similar areas? And I'm just like, I feel like we haven't heard of a serial killer in so long. I can't remember the last time, like, we've been alive when there's been, like, a serial killing. Yeah.

I mean, no, like, yes, no question. And the thing about it is like, how can the cops not connect them? I just think you have to go on it. We've seen enough movies to know they're probably connected. Oh gosh. I don't know if it's like, they just don't want to cause like fear or like cause people to be scared without actual evidence and proof or what. But I'm like,

I don't know. I just like feel like I in as long as I've been alive, I can't think of any real time serial killers like being caught. No, I mean, with Ted Bundy, we weren't even alive, were we? No. And there's like so many in the past. So many. And I but I think the thing about it is like maybe we actually were alive for some. They just haven't because it takes a while. It's really weird. It's really weird for them to like make mainstream news.

Yeah. And then to make a movie about them. Maybe they also like, unfortunately, murders are so common, so much more common than they used to be that they just like don't hit the mainstream media as much as they used to back in the day when they were like, oh my God, people are being murdered. Where now it's like people get murdered every day. And like, unfortunately, we don't blink an eye because it happens so common. Quick pause to talk about our sponsor, Rocket Money. I'm thinking about inside jobs because our show we're watching, not Good American Family. I do want to talk about that. But your friends and neighbors, do your neighbors and friends or our friends and neighbors? It's funny like...

He like I don't know how they parallel but it just reminded me of the two. Did you watch the most recent episode? Yeah. I love that show. It's so good and it's just like how it's the last person you would suspect but he's just going around robbing everyone. The Birkin alarm. I was dying. I'm like can you imagine? Dead. I cannot believe he got out of there. Uh

P like so it's funny because like PS explained like the watches to me and then finally like a Birkin pops on and I know what that is and he was like this bag is how much I'm like yeah like oh yeah forty fifty thousand dollars I'm so glad that they have the like it is really smart to have the alarms right yeah wild that he allowed himself to have an accomplice I couldn't believe it I know I

But like also, I don't know. This show is just like I said, it's a show that I don't look at my phone during the whole time. Like it hasn't happened in a long time. Well, okay. I don't look at my phone during our show either. Same. Should we talk about the season finale of Good American Family? Yes. What did you think? I feel like we were on a emotional roller coaster with this show. Like from the first episode to now, my...

Total opinion on Natalia has changed and like Christine Barnett and Michael and everyone in the show.

It was a great last episode. Slow ending, but great last episode in the sense that they really did. They brought forward all the questions we had and they were all witnesses for her. They were, they were, they go to go character witnesses for her. And it was just every question I had in my brain of like, wasn't Italia bad. I just feel like got answered. And like, I think Christine and Michael specifically Christine, but Michael as well are crazy. Yeah. And I would really like to understand what,

more of what Christine's motive was with making Natalia out to be this like horrible person lying about her age because like they explained a little bit of it but I'm like like how did she go from like this saint of a person to all of a sudden like abusing a child saying that she's 22 when she's actually seven putting her through all this trauma like it was so wild like

I truly think it was because she wanted to be somebody that saved a child and like have another person to write a story on. And I think she couldn't do it. And so she ended up having to literally neglect her and change her birthday. So they couldn't say she neglected a child. She neglected an adult. And it's like, that is insane behavior. Also, I didn't realize that.

Michael never really like never actually witnessed anything bad that Natalia did. But that like Jacob witnessed the bad that his mom did and like all of the witnesses coming forward. I was like, wait a second. Are they? Did Christine lie to us during her point of view in the first couple episodes? Or are the witnesses lying because they don't want to be on trial? I was like, whoa, this is like messing with my head.

So I think that she must have lied. I think so too now. Especially Jacob being like, hey, Natalia, I didn't know if I could say hi. And she's like, you can always say hi. And then he's like, I should have helped you. It's like, and he thought about it a lot. Like, that would have to be so painful for him to watch his mom abuse him.

a disabled person. Right. And also it like really broke my heart where I don't really understand like the legal jargon of why they all of a sudden couldn't call her a kid anymore. But like when they lost the trial, I was like, are you kidding me with all this evidence? Oh, that was so absurd that his lawyer really pulled a fast one on. Basically he was saying like the court's already ruled. We're not going to overturn her age. And so let's respect the court.

And that was so messed up. And so then that judge was like, yeah, let's respect the court. And so he threw out that you could reference her age at all. And it was like anything that happened before, I don't know, 2003, they weren't allowed to reference or 2004. And it was like, those were all those Facebook messages. But I feel like some sort of justice is happening for Natalia with this show. Yeah, for sure. Because at the end of it, like you see that she was the victim. Like I think that Christina Michael are Patrick crazy.

episodes one through four, you kind of can't help but hate Natalia, right? Yeah. But then, fast forward to now, and it's like, oh, they know. Everyone knows. So now I can't wait to watch the documentary. Oh, so this is what I was going to... I forgot to tell you. So at the ending credits of the last episode, they said that Cynthia, who is the new mom figure, right? The man. Yeah, Cynthia the man. Yeah, that her and her husband...

Been looked into as For abusive charges as well But remain their innocence Maybe they've Maybe we should look into that more but maybe they've Just been looked into of like due Diligence I don't know let me Quick pull up the ending credits because I Was like wait a second why wouldn't you guys Like talk about this more They definitely shine a positive light On them I thought right that's Why I was like very much so Confused I was like huh

Because they do, like, I don't know if it's going to load for me. But, yeah, I was so confused. I was like, what do you mean that they were looked into for being abusive? I thought that they were, like, her new parents. Wait, so this set, and I don't know if this is true or not, Natalia Grace left the man's home and moved in with the DePaul family, who had originally adopted Natalia prior to the adoption by the Barnetts. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah.

It says, since the series was completed, abuse allegations against Antoine and Cynthia Mann have come to light. Wow. They maintain their innocence, and to this day, so does Christine Barnett. But in 2024, with the help of an attorney in Italy, received a U.S. passport that officially restored her birth date to September 4th, 2003, making her 21 years old at the time this series was released. Wow. Okay, wait, hold on. Let me see if this TikTok is... It's just, like, wild. Yeah.

She's been I just feel so bad for her. She's just been like right. Yeah moved around a lot. It's sad. Should we do it? Well, okay. So sorry that was it. That would be an abrupt change of topic. Well, once I get back from Hawaii, let's watch the documentary and then start reporting back on that because I'm super interested to dig in and kind of see like where she's at now. Agreed. I would love to know. Yeah.

I assume we're going to skip April Theory and do ins and outs for summer. Yeah. Okay, you go. Do your ins and outs. Okay, so our ins and outs for summer. Should we both do our ins first or both do our outs first? Yeah, let's do our ins. Okay, so these are my three ins for summer. I think the slick back bun pointelle is still very much so a thing. It's not out of style. I know some people are like, oh, it's not a thing anymore. It's fully a thing. Like...

No ands, ifs, or buts. SPF, I think, is becoming more of a trend to use, which makes me so happy because I don't think people use it as regularly as they should. But now I feel like makeup companies and these SPF companies are coming out with so many beautiful types of SPF, like tinted, glowy, this or that, where it's becoming more of a trend to wear it, which I love because we truly need to be wearing it every single day all over our bodies. So love that.

Totally. And then I think blush is coming back in style for the summer because for a while I like totally removed blush from my makeup routine. I was just doing bronzer, but I started finding like fun, more like coral, like sun kissed blushes. And I'm like, I don't have them on today, but I was like, okay, I think I'm getting back into like my blush game. I feel like blush and over blushing your face is like really come back in style and I love it.

So you're doing a blush, because I have like no idea, that's less pink? Yeah, it's more of like a coral or like a reddish blush where it looks like you were sunburned a little bit.

Okay maybe I need to change the color of my blush I haven't been like loving it It's super pink I didn't even like entertain the thought That I could possibly use a different color of blush So that might be something I do Yeah you could use more of like a red one Or like a even like a purpley one Or like a brown one There's so many shades of blush you can use But yeah I pink doesn't always look great on me So I like more of like the burnt colors

Yeah. Okay. I'm going to explore different blush shades. Literally thought they were all kind of the same. Look into Milani. Okay. Thank you. They have great cream blushes.

Okay, I like a cream blush, I think. Yeah, okay, I will do that. Okay, maybe I'll do one. Okay, cool. Okay, my ends are natural makeup, very in line with and the sunscreen situation, but I just think like we're not super glamming for the summer. The jelly sandal, I've been seeing it everywhere. I love it. It's like the slide version or the full closure, kind of like a slipper, but it's jelly. I think those are really cool. Wait, I have to look this up quick.

Okay. I love like a red gel. I want to get a red one. That's my next. Wait, Joe, am I not finding it? I'll send it to the group so we can put it up on the screen. But like this jelly sandal, I feel like it's very about a jelly ballet flap. God, cool. I've never seen this before. Really? Oh my gosh. I feel like I'm seeing them a lot and I love them. Are they comfy? Yeah.

I haven't gotten a pair of them yet, but I'm going to get one after this. $9 at Old Navy? Yeah, right? Like, incredible. Okay, love that. And then the last thing that I think is in style is longer shorts. And we were talking about it last episode, which is like, thank God, like, we're not wearing denim short frayed shorts with, like, holes in them anymore. But what I've seen to be really in style is this, like,

They sit lower on your hips and they're a lot longer, almost like a boyfriend jean. And I noticed a lot of people are selling them. I love it. Love that. I...

I think that's funny because for my out, I have short jean shorts. There it is. There it facts. I literally for Hawaii, all the shorts I'm packing are like linen shorts. Cause I'm like, I'm not wearing short jean shorts ever again. Love a linen short. Yes. Um, and then I also have for an out and bear with me on this, um, Pilates for myself. Um,

Thanks to Dr. Shannon, I'm going to try getting back into a little bit more of weightlifting again.

Love it though because you have to do what works for you. Yeah, and she just – she inspired me. She made me realize like I don't have to go bodybuilder mode to lift weights. Like there's ways to lift weights, but I don't have to go extremely heavy, but I also don't have to go as light as like two-pound weights like Pilates, which either way is great for you if it works for you, but for me, I'm like Pilates is out and I'm going back to lifting, so I'm excited. Okay, I think that you always –

You tend to default to the lifting and really be happy and love it there. So I'm glad you're going back. Thank you. Yes. And then my last out is unsolicited weight loss tips. Um, I, that was never in, never in. And this summer, I don't want to hear anyone talk about losing weight or how to lose weight

especially when we're in bathing suits or wearing like tight clothing like this summer. Like I don't want to hear it. Like save the unsolicited weight loss tips for the winter because in summer I just want to love my body, be confident in my body, and I don't want to hear anyone talk about how to lose weight when we're all wearing bikinis on the beach. Period. It doesn't. Exactly. I think every single person listening will be like, hallelujah, amen, thank you. Yes. Okay, what are yours? Fact. Fact.

Okay, my outs are the ripped jean shorts. So we're just very aligned on that. Sunburns. I feel like we're not doing massive suntan lines. Like it's just giving skin cancer in a not good way. And like it doesn't look cute with clothes. But like the older we get, the more we realize how precious our skin is. So full body sunscreen. I've been wearing like a visor.

Yeah, so I think that's where it's about. Wear your SPF all over your body, people. Not just your face. Yes. Like the chest. I used to, I would have fried myself. It is not cute. It does not age well. No, no. So my goal is to literally not have a sunburn all summer long. I love that. And then being overdressed. It's not that we're going sloppy. I think there's like a tasteful underdressing, but I very much so think like,

I think Hallie Kate does a really cute job with like making simple outfits like cute with like a fun shoe and not they're not simple outfits. They're like every outfit she wears is so cute, but like not super overdressed. I just think there's like a summer spring effortless chic happening. I love a simple top and bottoms, but then with like a fun shoe sunglasses and accessories like I love that that look.

Yeah, done. Like timeless. I love that. Okay. Amazing. Question. Do you think we should maybe skip this listener question and just do Rex because it's 10 minutes to 1. I do. Okay, let's do that. I do.

Okay, what's your rec? Okay, so my rec is I want to quick talk about my Moxie and BBL facials because I talk about them a lot on my personal socials and I get a lot of questions. And a lot of people have been DMing me being like, you talked about this on Mean Girl Pod. Can you elaborate? So I just want to quick explain a Moxie. There's the Moxie facial and the BBL facial. They're both laser facials.

BBL facial is mainly for people who struggle with rosacea or discoloration on their face. The Moxie facial is for people who struggle with like texture, fine lines, pores, hyperpigmentation, pretty much all of their skin concerns. Both incredible. I would recommend based off what my girls did for me was three treatments of each depending on your skin concerns. And it's just amazing.

There's no downtime with the BBL. It's about five days of downtime with the Moxie. And when I say downtime, I mean, you just can't wear a full face of makeup. Other than that, I still left the house, still walked around. Don't go out in the sun. If you do out in the sun, pile on sunscreen and a hat. Um,

And it's a very easy healing process and it's a little painful, but I just wanted to get that out there because I've been getting so many questions, but highly recommend those. Okay. I love the clarification. I love going into summer, getting like a little like shut off the top layer. I think that's really good. Okay. What is yours? Mine is yours from last week. Ransom Canyon. Okay. What do you think?

So I started it. I'm only up through that first episode. I'm going to watch the second one tonight. I absolutely loved it. Lila Garrity is so cute still. Who is Stetson? Is it Josh Dumal? Yeah, Josh Dumal. Okay, he's just like older, but like I'm not – I want to say there's a lot of similarities happening to Yellowstone. I don't want to say that Stetson is supposed to be John Dutton because –

You know, that would be crazy. But I am sensing a lot of similarities and I loved Yellowstone. So it's a softer version of it, but I'm like loving it. Great rec. Okay, that's so funny you say that because I saw a TikTok where someone was like...

They said it was like in between of Yellowstone and Virgin River. And it was because it's like not sexy enough to be Yellowstone, but not PG enough to be Virgin River. And they're like, you got to pick a lane. And I was like, that's actually true because it is kind of in the middle. But I knew you would like it because it's like cowboys and horses and Western and your girls in it. So I was like, I hope she watches it.

Yeah, it was a really good rec by you, and I'm loving it. But I do see, like, even the living room set up like Yellowstone. They drive the same car with, like, the branding on the side. I don't know. Like, they have the same, like, they have ranch hands, which is great. And there's a lot of shows like that. So I love it. I absolutely love it. Where is Yellowstone? What state is that in? Wyoming? Yeah, Wyoming. Bozeman. Is Ransom County, is it Oklahoma? Yeah.

No, they say it's small town Texas. Oh, right. Yeah. Okay. Got it. Okay. Interesting. Yeah. Okay. Well, I love that. Also, um, started you and I'm liking it so far. It's way better than last season. Wow. Okay, good. That's I saw a lot of people on TikTok. They were liking it as well. I love Penn Batchelor. I think he just seems like such a nice guy and I've been seeing his press tour and he's so funny and like, just, he really seems like a team player and I, I really like that.

Yeah, he is crushing this press tour and I'm not even watching the show. Right. Good for you, Penn. Yeah. Okay. Well, anything else before we wrap it up? No, I think that we are good to go. Have fun in Hawaii. Okay. Love you guys so much and we will see you next week.
