Wait, you said Alex Warren? Right? Yeah. The TikToker? Yeah. Wait, what? He's performing at Austin? Yeah. Wait, do you... Is he a TikToker? I thought he was like a singer. The Hype... What? Yeah, he's an OG Hypehouser. Like... No, he's not. Welcome back to another episode of Mean Girl Pod. We're matching in our gray. That's a bit doom and gloom of us. Wait, does this look gray to you? Yeah, is it not gray? No, it's green. No way. Oh, it looks like exactly...

I think there's something with the lighting that you see. Because remember that one time I was wearing lavender and you thought it was blue or vice versa? Yes, that's so funny. Do I look like I'm wearing gray? Yeah, a thousand percent. Oh, wow. Okay, you're wearing green. What color of green? It's like a very light, like a dark, I want to say dark pistachio green. Oh my god, that is so wild.

I know that's so funny, but I guess I think what you see is just a little less color. Because when we put this out, people probably see this green color. Oh, yeah. No, I think that the camera catches you for real. I think it's my computer that adjusts it. That's funny. I was going to say, it's definitely gray outside, though. Is it? Yes, the weather is just not...

being fun like it literally literally will be sunny and 70 one day and then the next day it will be rainy and 50 like it was starting to a little bit of a sprinkle when I was walking in here and I'm like please don't be raining when this is over because I don't want to walk home in the rain

Oh, that's so sad. You know, everywhere's been saying, like, it said it was going to rain here today, and it rained last night, but, like, today it's a pretty day, which is nice. So I think that the weather, like, Montauk ended up looking beautiful. Oh, my gosh. That was so wild. Like, literally every single weather prediction was, like, rain, 50 degrees, windy. So it was crappy all day Friday, but we got to Montauk.

Sun started to come out like it was blue skies by the evening. Next day, woke up, not a cloud in the sky all day. It was sunny like it was like 55, 60 degrees, but it was so sunny. And then on Sunday, I believe it was sunny that whole day as well. Like it was a beautiful weekend. Isn't that the best though? Like you weren't expecting it and then it turns out to be so pretty. Yeah.

Yeah, like, I was so, so happy. Because, like, Montauk definitely is a place that you can hang out when it's gloomy. But it's just so much better because it's on the ocean when it's nice and sunny. And it was such a nice weekend. Oh, my gosh. Okay, so what were your highlights? So...

Let me think. So the highlight definitely was that the sun came out, which I loved. Like, Pete and I on Saturday, we, like, were fully dressed, but we sat by the pool just because they were playing music, and it was so nice. Like, that was lovely. His family was also there, so we got to see them. There's this place called the Montauk Bake Shop, which it's, like, everyone who knows Montauk

Like, Montauk very well knows this bake shop. It's, like, very famous for their, I think, like, apple fritters or their, like, jelly-filled croissants. But there's, like, a line out the door every single weekend during their busy season. And just going to that bakery, oh, my God, the baked goods are so good. Like, their blueberry muffins are to die for.

Oh, that's amazing. Yes. And like we stayed at the Montauk Beach or Montauk Beach House, which was so nice. But it was funny because they were having a live DJ party. And like Pete and I both were like, you know, you're old when you don't go to something that's literally being held at the hotel you're staying at. No. OK, so what when was it like at night or during the day?

It was a day party. So it started at noon and then it went till I would assume like four or five. But Pete and I like sat in the pool area where it was quieter and like listened from afar and like people watched and like I like it was like we were like, this is so much fun. We're like, we can't imagine being in like the area where the DJ is. Oh, my God. That's so funny. So you guys are just like hanging out. Oh, my God. Yeah. We went to bed at like

nine we woke up at like six it was well I woke up at six I feel so bad for Pete like I can't sleep in whenever I travel and he's just like let me sleep and I'm just like staring at him until he's wait till he wakes up you're like wide awake you're just um it's like that movie she's the man yeah she's like I brought you cupcakes what's her name no uh

Oh, my Eunice. Eunice. Yes. I was like, Inez Eunice. Yes. She's always. Yeah. I mean, it's obviously not like that, but she was awake. Wait, so that's how I feel. I'm like staring at him. I like I'm down for nice weather, but it being cold like I'm into that. That is my vibe right now. Oh, my God. I there's nothing I love more than wearing sweats and a sweatshirt on a beautiful sunny day. Oh, yeah. Like so did you had you packed right?

Yeah, because everyone was saying it was going to be a crappy weather weekend and all the weather was like 50 degrees rainy. So I literally just packed pants and sweaters. So nice. So northeast. But I did have to buy this. I have a Montauk sweatshirt and I had to buy this because I didn't expect it to be as windy as it was. So the wind was what really got me. So the first day I was like, oh, I got to buy a sweatshirt. So I got this, which is green. Yeah.

Yeah, which is a green sweatshirt. Okay, I'm very excited that the weather turned out for you. Yeah. How was your Memorial weekend? What did you guys end up doing? It was great. We went out on the lake with other parent friends, but we left all the babes at home, and that was really fun. Yeah.

And then, yeah, it was we were going to like take the babies. And then I was like, what if we don't? And everyone was like, oh, my gosh, yes. Because like it's a lot. They hate the life jacket sometimes. Like I'm I'm in fight or flight mode the entire time if she's on the boat. So it was really fun to do it that way. We just went out for like three hours. And then on Sunday night, we went to a friend's house for a barbecue and

and just like swam, ate steak, like chicken. He just kind of did the whole thing. They were great hosts. And that was really it. And it was lovely. Like it was just a laid back. I've never not made like a big thing out of Memorial Day weekend. Like I usually like to travel for it. And just staying here, one, it was really nice. But two, it reminded me like we love Austin. Like we don't want to leave right now. And so I'm excited about that.

I love that, and I feel like Austin... I don't know. I assume the weather was nice. The weather was great. It's getting really hot, so we will leave some, but we don't want to leave. Like, I wish it didn't get so hot. Yeah, like, oh, I just imagine a beautiful day on the lake in Austin would be so nice. So for all the babies, do you guys get, like, one babysitter? Or is it... No, we did every man for themselves on the babysitting, but...

And sometimes like tomorrow night, we're going to Dierks Bentley and our neighbors texted us and they were like, hey, can you guys watch our baby? And I was like, no, because we're going to be gone. But let's we'll share a sitter. So tomorrow night we are sharing a sitter.

Okay. I love that. Where do you guys listen to concerts in Austin? Do you guys have like, is there a venue, like a stadium? Like there? Okay. So there's the Moody Center, which is at UT, which is like the big one. But what we have, which is so fun, like we have this place called Scoot In or Stubs and they're like these, you know, I don't know, one to two, I'm guessing one to 200 people venues that are like very, they feel very Texas and they're like outside and like,

So I, those are like my preferred ones to go to, but the Moody Center is so fun. Everything's really close, which is nice, but concerts are going to become a big part of my life because Harrison loves live music. Really? I'm going, I have four on the calendar in June. I don't even, I have Dirk Spintley, Alex Warren, some guy that I've never, two guys that I've never heard of. Who's the last one?

Has he always loved live music or is this like a new thing for him? Always loved it. His mom, like I think he gets it from his mom because when his mom comes in town, she's always like, are there any good concerts? And it's so not something I was used to just like doing. But whenever we go, like I have a blast. Okay, so I know Dierks is country. Are the other ones country? Like does he prefer a certain genre live? No, any genre. Like we went and saw St. John. We went and saw...

Who's the guy that's Noah Khan? He sings the sticks song. Oh my God. You saw Noah Khan? Yes. We saw. And I was like freshly postpartum and I was like, no, no, no. And then I went and I mean, I just like stood there and it was great, but you know, Alex Warren, don't you? The ordinary people song. Okay. Okay. Guys, we have $4 off Cleveland kitchen. what he's performing at austin yeah wait do you is he a tiktoker i thought he was like a singer from what the hype what yeah he's an og hype houser like no he's not yeah wait you're like he's headlining alex warren hype yeah oh my god i didn't know like i like wait seriously like a huge singer he's like number two on itunes shut up wait what's the hype house drama

I don't think the Hype House is a thing anymore. You know the song Ordinary. Oh my God. He like when you Google him, he comes up as an American singer, songwriter and YouTuber. That's actually incredible that he was able to shift in such a successful way because it's hard for influencers to like do that.

I like only thought this guy was a singer. What is the Hype House? I mean, I know what the Hype House is loosely, but will you tell me about it? Sorry, I thought you were like, you like knew, so you're like, what's the Hype House drama? And I was like, it's not around anymore. So...

The Hype House was technically the first ever content house during COVID. That's where Charli D'Amelio started, Addison Rae, Bryce Hall, Taylor Holder, Josh Richards, Jaden Hossler. All of those people were kind of in the Hype House. Then it switched to the Hype House and the Sway House. And they were the people. And then after time, obviously, people started to leave and do their own thing. But Alex Warren...

And Thomas Petra, they were like the OG kind of founders of the Hype House and have stuck with it up until like maybe two years ago. He was a founder of the Hype House? Yeah. My gosh. He was the guy I was like always doing my TikTok to, Yann.

thought what was the tea back in the day I mean he always stayed very PG like he was never really in the drama because he was maybe more so like the guy like filming and doing like pranks and like finding good content to do but like everyone in the house was with all the drama because it was like Charlie and Addison and like

It was, they were huge. Oh my gosh. He has such an incredible voice. I thought he was just like a guy that has dedicated his life to singing. No. And he's interesting too. Like he grew up very poor, like living out of his car.

And then all of a sudden he got into like filming videos. So he went from literally living in his car to like living in the Hype House. It has like a very cool story, but he's a hustler. Like he did that and he's like transitioned to podcasting. I think he stopped doing that. Now he's a singer. So wait, this is so sick. I'm definitely going to look up his music. You got to listen to his music. Like we, we listened to it. I mean, it's probably Harrison's like top three of this year. Wow. So I, since like all I do is podcast,

listen to audiobooks. I don't listen to music as much anymore. So unless it's like on TikTok, I like don't know what's trending. Oh, there was a TikTok song the other day that I downloaded the real one and I loved it. Is it country? No, it's it's called Real Something. Real. Hold on. I have it in my library right here. Oh, no. Birdseye by Raven Linnaeus. Oh, Love Me Not is the song. By who? Raven Linnaeus.

I saw it. So many people I don't even know. I was listening to it in some reels and then I was like, this is a good song. And I went and downloaded it and I like loved the whole song. I love when that happens. I just fell onto somehow. I don't know how, but like I fell onto country music, TikTok. Oh, and I've really been, there's like all these new faces that I've never seen before. And you know, the girl who sings like, excuse me, I think, or you look like you love me. Yes. Yes.

love her I'm like obsessed with her her her personal page no like her music I actually really I really like it hurt that song is phenomenal but what what's country tick-tock like is it the singers themselves or people making videos to the songs

It was the, so it was her and then the guy she sings it with, who I guess is like another huge name in country music that I didn't even know about. And then it just pretty much was like them singing live at the AMAs. I think I got an AMAs or sorry, CMAs TikTok. And then all of a sudden it was like interviews of them and then like them singing the song. So like that type of TikToks. There's a love triangle. Oh, so is it Kelsey Ballerini? No.

Who's the guy, Julie? I looked up this Ella Langley guy. Who's Riley Green? That's the guy, Riley Green. Yes, I saw this. Okay. So the TikTok that got me started was, it was Riley and Ella singing, excuse me, you look like you love me. And like people were saying that this is like,

Our version of Stevie Nicks. And I forgot his name back in the day because they were like speculating there's a love triangle between those three. So then I started like digging into those three and I was like, and now I'm obsessed. I saw Megan Maroney and Riley Green in the video of Lim leaving the airport and somebody like videoed it and put it on TikTok. Yeah.

Yeah, because they're dating, right? Well, he wasn't. I thought he was dating the other girl, the Ella girl. Who knows? I don't think anybody said anything about it. Like, I have some question marks on some couples. Like, are they dating? Did we ever confirm, like, are Sydney Sweeney and what's our guy's name? Glenn Powell. Are they date? Like, did we ever get confirmation of these things? You know?

You know what I got stuck on today? This side of TikTok. I got stuck on PR couple, famous PR couples side of TikTok. Oh, I know. I've seen this PR couple thing. The only one I've ever heard of, though, was Ben and J-Lo. Ben Affleck. Wait, they were confirmed as a PR couple? Well, I don't know if they were confirmed, but I just saw it was like a PR stunt that they were dating. Like, that's the thing that really...

really makes me sad it's like I just don't know what like any couple that's real like everyone thought that Kim and Pete were which I kind of can see it because it's almost like they're together and then as soon as they hit like a certain number they just like break up and now people speculate it's like are Kylie and Timothy PRs or PR are in love and it's like I don't know who anyone like if anyone's in love oh I think that okay wait what do you think about them do you think it's PR I

Timothy and Kylie? Yeah. No, I think they're in love. Like, she looks... I've never seen a Jenner smile until I saw Kylie with Timothy. I think that they are true. Like, I think they are, one, so happy together. I think it's real love. And I think she is done with, like...

Like she's not doing the bright blue hair anymore. She's not doing the long nails. Like I think she's just like being a mom, doing her Kyline, doing the sprinter drinks. Like, and I think she's chilling. Like I think she actually does love him. And I would like more sightings of them at the Knicks basketball games because those are like, I am loving them. Same, same. Um, I just Googled PR couples who are the most famous. Oh, yeah.

Wait, maybe I should Google PR relationships. I was like, these are not. Okay. Example of perceived PR relationship. So a lot of people thought, okay, so yeah, Timothy and Kylie are listed. A lot of people thought Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were a PR stunt, which like I can see that because they wanted to boost High School Musical. That 100% would make sense. People think that Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were. I could see that.

Yeah, and then another one is Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey, which... That I'm not buying. I'm not either. Maybe it started like that, but I genuinely think that they're in love. Yeah, I definitely don't think that was a PR thing. I just don't think that at all, actually. Have we heard from them lately, though? No, I haven't seen anything on Taylor Swift. Maybe she's laying low because of all the Blake Lively stuff, but I feel like I haven't seen her. She didn't even go to the AMAs.

I think that she, maybe like off season, maybe they're just like traveling and taking a break. Yeah. So, oh, that could be it. Maybe since Travis is free, they're like, okay, let's like actually unplug and spend time together because they're so busy. They are so busy. So I guess that's what's happening. Okay. So what is your thorn? Because your rose is the weather, right? No. You're moving. So my rose was...

So I guess like the two things I had listed was Montauk and moving. Neither are really a thorn. They're both kind of roses. Love it. I have two roses. Okay, same. So go keep going. So we went into Montauk. But yeah, I'm moving again. We slow clap. Okay, tell us everything. So...

Currently, like I've said on the podcast before, Pete and I live in a fully furnished apartment. And we were talking last week and we both were just like, okay, this apartment is just getting more and more expensive because it's fully furnished. And with fully furnished apartments, they're like month to month. And it was getting to the point where it was like,

breaking the bank. We're like, this is absolutely insane. This is way too expensive and way too expensive for like what we were getting. Like what we're, what we were paying, we could, we could have been living in like West Village, Tribeca, but instead we're living in this like dungeon, like,

in the Upper West Side with like construction and scaffolding. Like we were just like, what are we doing? Right. So we had that conversation last week and we both were like, let's just like it's not ideal to move in the summer in New York. We're like, let's just like move to a new apartment. So on Friday of last week, I like reached out to a ton of brokers. And then Monday we toured a few apartments and like

We saw the options we saw. We were like blown away with how happy we were with them. They like checked off everything on our list. So we are moving, which is it's funny. We're moving to my original neighborhood. No way. Yeah. Like a block from my old apartment that I moved into when I first moved to New York. So that's kind of fun. Yeah.

But we do have to like now get furniture for the apartment and everything. But it'll be fun like to decorate. It'll be fun to be in a new apartment and especially fun to be in an apartment that's way more affordable. So I'm excited. It has a lot of natural light. So I'm pumped about that. So nice to have the natural light and you'll be settled, which is good. I feel like. So where are you moving?

I like didn't realize how necessary natural light is for your mental health. Oh, it's so necessary. Like we're on the second floor and we only face, we face in to the alley. So like all I can see outside the windows are brick walls. And the buildings are so close that like if I wanted to see what the weather was outside, I have to like...

really like get close to the window and look up like it'll be blue skies 80 degrees and I'm like is it raining out and Pete's like no it's sunny you just feel like so trapped so trapped and like also as someone who creates content it's it's hard and not very fun to make content in a built in a room or apartment that's like dark and like dungeon-esque and sitting in there all day like

We work from home. It's just not fun. And I didn't realize how much of a toll it was taking on my mental health. And then going to tour apartments and seeing natural light, I was like, wow, this would be so, so great to see every day. No kidding. Okay, so this new one, what do you like about it? Besides natural light. Love that it's natural light. I love that... I mean, the apartment we have now, I will say it's pretty spacious for New York, but...

This one is also like very spacious. Oh, guess what? What? I have a walk-in closet. No way. Yeah. Isn't that funny? Because we just talked about closets. Oh my gosh. I can't believe it. I can't believe that exists. It's not like a...

standard walk-in closet that you think of when you think of um like nice apartments but like it's a walk-in closet where you could walk into it is it off the primary bedroom

So it's only a one bedroom apartment. So it's in the bedroom. Yeah. So there's a closet. There's actually a closet in the bedroom. And then there's a linen closet outside the bedroom. And then there's two more closets. Oh, my gosh. I know. I don't know who made this building, but they really I think was a female because she understood that closet space is necessary. Wow. And how's the kitchen?

The kitchen's fine. Like it has updated appliances, but it's like tiny, but that's fine. Cause I don't, I don't like to hang out in the kitchen. As long as the appliances are updated, like I'm happy. Yeah. And like it does the job. Like I'm someone who I value the living room in the bedroom way more than the kitchen where some people might value the kitchen, but like, I'm not,

I'm not a cooker. I'm not a baker. Like, I don't need the space, like, the counter space to do that stuff. So, as long as we have, like, a good fridge and a good microwave and stove, I'm happy. Okay, and then how do you feel about moving back to your old neighborhood? I'm actually pumped. Like, I really loved the area that I moved into. I won't tell people where it is, but all I'll say is, like, it's not...

very like popular for our age range and I loved it like I feel like it was so cute and maybe because that's kind of like where I built my foundation into New York I see that as like my like if people were to ask me like where I lived in New York I would always say that first so I'm pumped like my favorite coffee shop is over there my favorite restaurants like

I mean, I think it's going to be great. You always loved living there. Yeah. My old stomping ground. Like I know the area, like the back of my hand and there's also like, uh, there's just, I was about to say, I'm moving. There's also just like a lot of, um, a lot more flexibility to get around because like that side, as much as I love it, it's, it's far from a lot of things. Yeah. It's really removed. Um, yeah, you're way more central now. Did you open up your search to, to there on purpose? Yeah.

Yeah, so Pete was like, because our biggest thing when looking for an apartment, we were looking for the most affordable option. And that's really hard to do in New York City to find affordable apartments. No question. But thankfully, we are two people in a one bedroom, so we can split the cost of a one bedroom. But he was like, why don't we just look at the area you...

You started in. It's near my office. You loved that area. You're the one who works from home. You're the one who has to be home all the time. I go into office, so I don't care as much as long as I can get to work easily. And I was like...

Oh my God. Like you would consider that area. And he's like, yeah, sure. So we only looked there and it was kind of like meant to be like the first apartment we looked at. I was like, oh my God, this is it. Like this, this is perfect. Oh, that's so nice that it worked out. I remember he does live near there because for your first date, he picked you up.

Yeah. Yeah. Good memory. Yeah. And so he he'll his commute to work will be like so fast. Oh, my God. Like game changing that on a nice day. He can walk to work because like right now being on the Upper West Side, it's like you have to walk. You have to train. You have to bus. And it's just like it's not it's not fun to switch like multiple like public transportations. Like even coming here, it's like takes like an hour and a half. You know what I mean? Oh, it's wild. Yeah. Yeah.

The city is wild. Also, like, all my people over there, like, my therapist, my, like, dentist. Like, it's funny because, like, that's, like, where I started. So I have all my appointments are always on, like, that part of town. So it's really nice that I could just, like, get there easily. Yeah. Okay, good. I'm really happy for you guys. I think that especially because when you first wake up, you're supposed to see natural light. And there's, like, some science to opening up your window. Yeah.

And so I think you're going to feel so good. Yeah. I remember in our last apartment, it faced, faced whatever direction that brought in more sunlight. And, um, I remember that was like the best thing ever opening the blinds and just seeing all this sunlight. And now Pete will like open the blinds and he'll be like, Oh, what a beautiful day. And it's just like black. No, that is so tough on the brain.

Yeah it's very tough So I'm very excited I'm also excited to like start saving money Because the rent that we were paying was just stupid Like unless we were living in like The most luxurious apartment in New York Then I'd be like yeah we can manage But like for what we were living in I was like this is not worth it Yeah that's actually really frustrating Like it's one thing to pay a lot and be like I love what I got But it's a whole other thing to be like This isn't worth it And then to go find an apartment you like more for less money Like

Done. Right? So, fifth apartment in almost four years. That is so crazy to me. Right? I know. But hopefully this is, like, the last apartment for a very long time because after this move, I am, like, I'm going to, like,

break my back or something. Yeah. But I hope you like make this apartment like cozy and like, you love it. Yes. Um, and I'm, that's like the goal. Like I'm really going to make sure we like it. And we, I also want to make it so it's like visitor friendly. So, cause like right now I can't like have like my friends come to visit and in the future I want like

Yeah.

having a boyfriend that lives with you, like your girlfriends can't, they can't visit as easily as they could when I was like single. You know what I mean? Yeah. That's actually a really good point there. There's nowhere really for them to go. Yeah. And Pete doesn't travel for work on the weekends. So it's just like really hard to play on that. So I'm hoping we can make it more better. So like Madeline can come visit or like another friend and just have a place to like comfort comfortably sleep at night.

I love the idea of a pullout couch. Me too. I think it's great. And like, I'm pumped. I'm not great with interior design, but I'm excited to like go on Pinterest and strengthen that part of my brain. Yeah, it's going to be fun. I really hope that you make it a little sanctuary for you because this is like you deserve it. It's like you now if you have to buy furniture again, like get stuff that you love.

Exactly. And like, just, you know, working from home, you got to love your home a little bit more when you spend all day there. No question. Yeah. I'm excited for this move. Thank you. What are your roses? My roses... Hold on. How are you feeling about turning 30? I feel good. So I turned 30. So when this episode comes out, it will be June 2nd. So I'll be turning 30 in...

12 days from when this episode comes out because my birthday is June 14th. I'm feeling good. I like definitely...

I still feel like I'm in like the headspace of like not knowing what I want to do with the rest of my life. How I felt like when I was 25, like, I don't think that goes away ever. I totally agree. I completely, I may be in our late thirties, but yeah, I hear you on that. But like when I was 20, I remember when I was like 18, I was like, oh, I'll know what I want to do with my life when I graduate college. When I like graduated college, I was like, oh, I'll know what I want to do with my life after like two years in the workforce. And then I was like, oh, I'll know what I want to do after I moved to New York. And then I was like, oh, no.

Oh, no. By the time I turned 30. And I'm like, you know what? I just...

I really think we never really know. And like, we also evolve so much. And like what I wanted to do last year is not what I want to do this year. And I know it's not going to be what I want to do next year. So I've been learning to like really give myself grace and realize like you don't have to have anything figured out by a certain age because I'm so pumped to be 30. Like I'm really excited for like this time of my life and to be surrounded by people who love to go to bed early, hopefully. Yeah.

There's something really refreshing I think about being 30. Like there's some pressure kind of lifted off of you. I don't know. Like I don't know how to explain that. But so wait, when do you leave for Napa? Not until the 17th or 19th, whatever that Thursday is. I think it's the 19th. Okay. 30 is big. The weekend after.

I know. I'm pumped. So I'm going to go to Rhode Island on my actual birthday to spend it with my mom and dad. But then Pete and I will go to Napa and Sonoma the week after or the weekend after. Because like having a summer birthday, it didn't matter if I was in school or graduated. No one's around in the summer. So I've just always learned to like I've always just like spent my birthdays with friends or sorry with my family. So that's what I'm doing this year to like me and family. Is Pete going?

Yeah, he'll be there too. So we have my mom, my mom and dad and Pete and myself. And then, um, nap and stomp up with just Pete the next week. And okay. And then you come back and move. And then we come back Sunday. We move Monday. Oh my gosh. But I think that this is nice. Oh, I'm very excited. Um, oh, I was, what was I going to ask you? A lot to look forward to. Um, oh, sorry.

Oh my God. That's, oh, I'm annoyed. I like was going to ask you a question. I can't remember. Maybe it'll come to me. I wonder what it was. I feel like it was about turning 30. I can't remember. Let me know if you think of it. I will. But yeah, a lot, a lot, a lot to look forward to. June's going to be a very busy month, but like a very exciting month. But also it's one of those things where it's like,

I like, I'm so excited for it, but I also don't want to come. Cause that's like when it's over, it's going to be so sad. Oh, I know this is in my Arthur C. Brooks, the, the book I keep talking about that. This is the pleasure side of the brain, right? Where it's like, it's the happiness of it is fleeting. But if you can just acknowledge that, then it's a good thing because you need to have the little, like you need to have the fun months where you have stuff to look forward to. It's important.

Oh, yeah. Do you know what you're going to do for your 32nd birthday? 32? Wow. No way. Yeah. Yeah. What? You know, I don't know. Like, our summer, we were going to go and, like, travel. And then we were like, no, we're not. And so, like, we don't have one trip booked. That's, like, not like you. It's very unlike us, but we were like, we want to work on the house. Like, we just want to stay focused. And, like, so...

I think that will change. Like, I think we will book something. I don't know when, I don't know what it will be. It'll be kind of on the fly, but right now I have no idea. But like, I tell you what, something about, I think it's being a mom, like that, that birthday, it will just be a day. Like, do you know what I mean? Yeah. It'll just be a day. And then

I'm her birthdays are now like my new birthdays, but my birthday, I'm like, oh, I literally forget. Guys, we have 30 days free and 25% off your subscription at Dipsy, which is a female founded app for spicy audio books and more. You heard that right. Spicy audio books.

Yeah. So 35 and 40, I'll do like something sort of more, but 32, man, it's just going to be, I'll blow out some candles probably. And that'll be it. Do you guys have any plans to go to Canada this summer? I feel like Canada in the summer is beautiful. We want to go for like a month. Um, I just don't know what month that'll be. Maybe August we'll go. Um, yeah.

But yeah, that's definitely we we want to like do wood floors and then like there's some stuff we need to be home for. So I think we're just trying to figure that out. Do you do you know if Harrison has ever been to Prince Edward Island? No, I don't know. I that's where the oysters are from, right? Yeah, they have like a big oyster, big oyster farms over there.

Why? No, the reason why I ask is, so one of my favorite authors, Carly Fortune, she, all her books are based in Canada, like Toronto. She's, I just read a book that was on Prince Edward Island. I read another book that was like in like the smaller town of, I think Montreal. And I just keep hearing her describe these places in Canada. And I'm like, I need to go there. And the last book I read was Prince Edward Island. And it sounded like,

the most beautiful place, how she described it and how I was like, I need to go. I feel like it, it all looks like, okay. So I didn't know this, but whenever I was last there, I posted like some photo of us and everyone was like, wow, that looks just like the proposal. And so I said to them, I was like this, you know, but I thought the proposal movie was filmed in Alaska. And they were like, no, the proposals filmed in Vancouver. And, um,

So that's very much so like what the beauty is. And I feel like Prince Edward Island is off. Is it in those islands? Hold on, let me look. Wait, was the proposal supposed to be Canada though? Or sorry, Alaska though, right? Yeah, it was supposed to be Alaska. I was going to say I could have sworn, but that doesn't surprise me because it isn't. Okay, I totally might be lying. Is Ryan Reynolds Canadian? Oh, Prince Edward Island's on the other side. Is Ryan Reynolds Canadian? Yeah, he is. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah.

Speaking of Canadians, is Justin Bieber... Wait, you read my mind! Where is he from? I was literally going to say, speaking of Canadians, our friend Justin Bieber. He's breaking my heart. Did you see his latest little stunts? No, what were they?

So the first one, I took a screenshot of it. There's this actress. Her name is Ariana Greenblatt. She was in the Barbie movie. People also say she's like a Selena lookalike. But she's only 17 and she posted these like gorgeous, like sexy pictures on Instagram. And Justin commented on the pictures and said, I love you. And everyone's like, what are you doing? Oh, yeah.

oh no and then um um here I'll send it to you and then on top of that did you see his concert with SZA yes and it's like Justin what is going on like and then a lot of people are like that was that he was they were like all over each other but I think the issue was was like he was not okay and she was like trying to like

bring him back and make it look more organic because he looked like he was gonna pass out yeah I think she was trying to help him yeah I do too I thousand percent did too so what are people saying what what's their take on that on the on the SZA stuff so it's like it's like split it's like some people are like this is like kind of intimate and other people are like no SZA's just trying to like help the guy out but like the consensus is like Haley why are you with him

Oh, I feel so bad for her. I know. And him. I feel bad for everybody. I'm really confused. I am too. And like, I understand that celebrities get really upset when people like speculate and we like start rumors and stuff. But it's like when you put yourself out there and keep doing like wild things, like Justin, like how many, like how many breaks are we supposed to give you? Because it was like first the Vogue thing, now the comment on Instagram and now the concert. It's like...

It's so sad. I'm just like, oh, what's happening? Because it does make you, it makes you wonder, what did you want to talk about parasocial relationships? Is this it? Like, are you talking about your, like, well, can you actually define parasocial relationship? Yes, but also we can't forget for you to talk about your roses. Oh, okay. Okay. So we'll, we'll put a pin in this. My, my first rose is that

I think I told you I was getting new neighbors diagonal and they moved in this past weekend and I've just been seeing her and I like go over and talk to her and I just I love this woman and I love that her kids are once graduated college once graduating high school and I love that the couple's older but they still feel so young and

And they're just like, cool. So they're in. And that's one of my... Because I just before this, I was over there talking to her. And my second rose is... Last night, I watched Made in Manhattan. And so I know last time I told you that I watched Clueless. And then I was like, I want to watch Bring It On. So I watched Bring It On. And then I watched Bad Teacher. And then I watched...

Bad Teacher. Oh, The Devil Wears Prada. And then Made in Manhattan. And they're all just like... They're all the next movie that comes up, you know, like you might also like. And I am just obsessed with that type of movie right now. Killer Playlist. Those are all like five-star movies, in my opinion. They just don't... You know what I noticed? Like they don't make movies like that anymore. And the term... There's like a layer deeper on these movies where...

Oh, I watched... Oh my God, I forgot the best one I watched. Cinderella Story. So like, Cinderella Story, as I was watching it, like they have all these little funny cameos off the side. Like the way the movies are made are so much better back then than they are today. I just, I think today they just make them too fast. They like also, like I wouldn't classify...

devil wears prada rom-com but kind of it's like romance drama but they like don't make good rom-coms like they do like made in manhattan or even like any dramas or comedies like bad teacher or what happens in vegas with cameron diaz those are incredible movies what happens in vegas is so good and i'm like they don't i cannot think of a movie recently that has been this good

There's this new movie. Actually, the one that I thought was good was the Scarlett Johansson Channing Tatum space one. Oh, yeah. You loved that movie. I thought that was that one. That one to me was kind of along the lines. I would actually probably rewatch that soon. I like genuinely couldn't tell you the last movie that I watched and I was like,

Dang, that was great. I want everyone to watch this movie. I know, and that sucks. I haven't seen Wicked. I need to see Wicked. I was going to go see Sinners, but we never went and saw it. I want to see that so badly. I...

That was a movie I had no interest in, and then I heard people raving about it, and I was like, I have to see that. Yeah, that one I do. I want to go see it. Have you heard of the movie Materialists? That's coming out with Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans. What's the name of it? Materialists. No. No.

So that like actually is a rom-com that's coming out that I'll be like high hopes for that. I feel like it reminds me of that era of like made in Manhattan and wedding planner and how to lose a guy in 10 days like that. June 13th. Yeah. Pedro Pascal looks a bit like, Oh no, that, no, no, no, no. That was just the photo. Um,

Chris Evans. Okay. Did Dakota Johnson start in Fifty Shades of Grey? Was that her first? Yeah. Well, that was like what got her like really noticed. Okay. Now she's off to the races. Good for her. Okay. Well, that comes out the day before your birthday. So maybe you can see it.

I know. I like, I'm very interested to see. I also am interested with the cast because like Chris Evans to me is like a rom-com guy, but Pedro, I only think of him as like a funny guy. So even though I know he's played different characters, so I'm just like curious to see how he portrays himself as like this. I think he's supposed to be like this really rich billionaire, like man who wants to like fall in love. And I'm just like so interested to see how he plays that role. I don't, what all has he been in?

He like, so I like know him from all the memes, like mainly all the memes on TikTok. But it says like he's known from, he's known from the Gladiator, the Mandalorian, Narcos. He's in this show called The Last of Us. There's like a few others. It says he was in the Game of Thrones, but I don't know what he was, who he was in the Game of Thrones. Yeah.

I never saw Game of Thrones. I didn't either. But like, I know him from that one meme where it's like, oh my God, that's going to bother me. Julie, you probably know the meme. She's making, she's saying no, but she's looking. Like where he's in the car with Nicolas Cage and he's like smiling and then Nicolas is looking serious. And it's like people like just memed it a ton. Yeah.

Oh, I see the photos. Yeah. That's like how I knew of him from all of these like really funny memes. Me getting comfortable and falling asleep with her cold hands and feet. What? Me trying to make an important phone call. My friend moaning in the background. Okay. My mental health disorders. New memes. I see. Yeah. So that's how I knew him from it looks like.

It was a movie that him and Nicolas Cage had called the unbearable weight of massive talent back in like 2022. But yeah, I just remember that meme coming out. I was like, who is this guy? That's hilarious. So now I only think of him as like this goofy guy, even though I don't even know if he is a goofy guy. But like, since that's like the meme...

So I'm interested. I'm really excited for this movie. Yeah, that it looks just based off the cover. It looks very How to Lose a Guide to Days-esque. Another banger. Yeah, I feel like this summer there's actually quite a few movies coming out. So I'm really pumped. But I don't ever understand that. All the movies come out in the summer. And the last thing I want to do in the summer is go to a movie.

That's actually very valid because I would love to go to a movie in December, January, February when it's freezing and disgusting out, not when it's blue skies and 80 degrees. Yeah, it's so funny to me. So I don't get that, but there must be some rhyme or reason to it because, ow, everyone always does it.

Let's say I was just like a normal person and I followed you and I like loved you and Tate and Harrison. Like me thinking that like I knew you as a person even though we actually have no idea who we are. Like who each other are. Like let's say like Tate gets sick. I'm like...

did you hear that Tate's sick that's so sad like oh I feel so sad for her like feeling like these feelings like I know you guys but I've never actually met you in person I've only interacted with your videos or like if someone like a lot of people have issues with parasocial relationships like someone might come up to you and like

try to hug you and you're like, whoa, I've never met you, but they feel like they know you. Like they interact with you. They like feel like they know you as a person, but you've never met them, but they feel so connected with you. Like that's a parasocial relationship. Okay. That makes a lot of sense. Interesting. And that's just a thing with social media. No. Well, yeah. So like over the weekend, have you heard of the Influencer Jazz? Yeah.

or just Jazzy. Yes. So she had, she had like, I feel like what you would call like the first parasocial relationship wedding where she almost had a wedding and did, did the content live. So she, cause she wanted to make it or she wanted it to feel like her followers were there with her. I thought I loved. Okay. So I followed this and I,

And then she made a video and she showed like the spreadsheet. She hired somebody to make all the videos so it didn't take away her brain on her special day. Like she was still able to be present because she had somebody doing it for her. And I loved how she said like, I wouldn't be able to afford this wedding if it weren't for you guys, like for her brand deals and TikTok, et cetera. And I just love the transparency of it all.

Yeah, I truly don't understand why people are getting so angry because it's like if that's what she wants to do, let her do it. I think I have so much respect for people who just elope, have a private wedding or people who want to like do their wedding in Vogue or people or like do it. Like, how is that different than someone doing a spread in People magazine? Wait, wait, people are mad.

Oh, yeah. I mean, you know the internet. Everyone's... Most people... Like, there's a divide. Like, most people are like, we love this, blah, blah, blah. But then other people are like, you've set such high expectations for other people. Like, didn't you want to just enjoy your day? Like, all this stupid stuff. It felt like she did enjoy her day. I think she did, too. Like, props to her. I don't know how she did that so well. Like, I can't multitask to save my life. But it's like, she obviously was prepared and, like...

to give back to her community. And if she wants to do that on her wedding day, like who cares? Did you see though her spreadsheet? Did you see that video? No, I didn't. Okay. So she came on and she was like, all right, how was I able to make all this content and still be present for my wedding day? So one, she hired somebody who made all the videos and posted them to, they had a full, she put it on her green screen. Like she had a full like list of,

trending sounds, what they were going to say over it and who needed to be in it. So like she said it and they, they just knew exactly what it was. They weren't for sure going to make all of them, but they did just like no potential content to make. And like, she said it would take her 60 seconds to two minutes to like make one video. And then the girl had her phone and would post it. So she wasn't like on her phone. And so that's how she was able to do it. If you're,

prepare like I remember when you and I would travel for events like that you would do that you would like save all these sounds and you would like we would knock out like six TikToks in 20 minutes not touch our phone the rest of the night and you just get that content up and I was like oh this makes a lot of sense the way she did it like if you're efficient and you have especially if you have someone to help like the longest part of making a TikTok is waiting for it to upload

And that girl was holding her phone while she did it. Like, I thought it was really cool. Because at first I was like, hold on, she's on her phone a lot. Yeah. But then when she got on it, she explained why. And then she said, you know, I wouldn't be able to afford this wedding if it weren't for you guys. And I did want to bring you in on it. And I thought, honestly, really cool. Right? And I, like, loved her transparency. And I loved, like, my thing is, like, if it makes you happy, that's all that matters. And...

I don't know. I think it's just so funny how some people just get so worked up about how other people live their life. And it's like, why does that, why does that piss you off? Why does it make you mad that someone wants to film their video online? If you don't want to do that, don't do it. Like, I don't understand why it's making you mad. Yeah. Like just cause it's not how you would do things. Very odd reaction. And like,

I also thought, you know, if you have a thousand per 800 person wedding, right. You're also not present. You're pulled in there. Even, even however many number of people wedding you're pulled in every which direction. And for her, I don't know how many people she had there, but like,

Her decision to put it all online like that before she walked out, I thought was really cool. And that could be a different way of thinking about you could have a massive guest list. You could be making your TikTok. There's so many different ways people want to do things. And none of it involves us. Yeah. So it's just so interesting how parasocial relationships are getting. To some degree, it does make me a little... Freaks me out a little bit because I like...

Like that would cause me, it causes me anxiety, but also it's very cool. Cause like as someone who's nosy and as a consumer, I'm like, I really enjoyed being able to see all the ins and outs. I loved watching it all. I, every time I opened up my apps, I was like, Oh, another one. Like, right. They were cranking it out. I mean, honestly, it's a masterclass in content.

I also loved how she had everyone wear black. Like, I thought that was so classy. Like, it was black tie theme, but you had to wear a black dress. I was like, I actually loved this. It was beautiful that everyone wore black. And the bridesmaids, right? Yeah. Like, everyone. So, I saw Eli Rallo's post on...

And she was saying how she was nervous. Like, cause you never want to accidentally post the bride before the brides posted the bride. Right. And she was like, I was nervous to ask. Like I wanted to really be careful on my phone and not like post her dress before she did, but it was great because she posted everything before she came out. So then a lot of people there were influencers. And so they could just post freely. Right. And also to like, some people were saying, isn't it annoying that people are on their phones during your wedding? And she was like,

I don't care what people are doing as long as they're having fun. And I'm like, everyone making the videos looked like they were having a blast. Like also two videos probably took them 10 minutes. And then I'm sure they went on and had a blast rest of the night, but also making like, who said this? I think it was Eli again. I think it was her video. She was like, a lot of us content creators like making content. Like that's also a version of fun for those girls.

Yes. I know. I was watching Jazz's honeymoon content and she was saying that she was like, people keep telling me to unplug and put my phone away. But like, you guys don't understand. I love making content and I'm having so much fun. Like unplugging is making content for me. And I'm like, I totally get that. Yeah. I think it's weird. Like we don't need to tell people to unplug.

like to put their phone down, they can just kind of make their own relationship they want to with their phone. Yeah. And I also love too, she changed a lot of like, or a lot of ways weddings are done. Like she and her now husband walked down the aisle together. She let her husband see the dress beforehand. They spent the night together before the wedding. I like loved that she did all these untraditional things. Cause I'm like,

Girl, you had this wedding how you wanted it, and you didn't care what anyone else wanted, and I respect the hell out of that. Yeah. I think I saw her talking about who was walking her down the aisle, and I think...

traditions I love our generation because of our willingness to change the way things used to be and like to challenge old old norms and I think weddings is like a great example of them because for a while they got so extravagant so traditional so regimented and now it's just like I would love it if we had a new wave of just like really fun do what you want weddings

Right. Because I feel like so, so often the brides are doing like 90% of the wedding is for other people and not for them. It's like, like you ask them, they're like, oh, did you want to do this? And like, no, I'm doing it for, cause my blah, blah, blah wanted it, wanted to do it. Or X, Y, Z had this idea and it's like, well, what did you want to do? Yeah. And like, you don't want it to be a nightmare. You want to have fun planning it.

Yeah, and I feel like too, a lot of people get so hurt and discouraged when they're planning their wedding. But it's like, if you just do what you want to do, like there's less feelings involved because you just only care about yourself, which I think is the way to go. I mean, 100%. And now I'll tell you this. I don't know how those other girls like her friend group will do their weddings, but I would love it if we got the content. I mean, I had a blast. I was like, okay, cool. What are we doing here? Who wore what? Like it was so fun to see like what outfits they had.

And I feel like too, I could be wrong, but I feel like it was almost like the first influencer wedding or at least within like the New York influencer. So it was kind of like a new wave of like nothing we've ever seen. Yeah. And I liked, I agree with that. And I loved how like Hallie was so supportive and,

Like I love their friendship. Their friendship is so great. And all the girls, they were just commenting on each other. Like it was so supportive. And I was like, I'm here for all of this. I loved it. Yeah. Same. So I love that. Do you want to do the listener question? Yeah, let's do it. Okay. I'm graduating college this week and I'm struggling with how to make friends after graduation. Throughout my four years, I've been part of the same friend group, but lately I've realized we no longer share the same values or interests.

They're still going out and drinking while I'm more interested in things like workout classes, grabbing coffee, or enjoying a nice dinner. I do have a job lined up and hope to make a few friends there, but I'm also looking for other ways to meet people who align more with my current lifestyle. Any advice? I feel like a lot of people go through this. Like, I definitely did. Like, I felt like there was a big transition for me from college to post-college because...

At least for me, I kind of realized the values I had in college weren't my values. They were my friends' values and I was just going along with it because I wanted to people please and I wanted to be friends. I wanted friends. So when I graduated and the older I got, I was like, wait a second. I'm not living my life based off my own values. I'm doing it for other people's values. Right. And for me, I didn't take that step into finding...

new friends until I moved to New York and a lot of things had to do with finding friends in areas that I like. So going to workout class, like I talked about a million times, Bumble BFF, going to things alone, reaching out to people on social media that I like have similar interests with, saying yes to just like more things that get me involved, like volunteering. Like it's just like surrounding yourself with in situations that you don't

Enjoy being in Totally agree Yeah I think that's a really good point My thing I would add is like Don't burn the bridge of the old friends Give them time to come back around Because you never know like in a year One of those girls dies

I think definitely go make new friends right now and find those places. I just, I would be really nice to these friends and maybe you don't spend a lot of time with them right now, but still like keep the friendship on ice because they'll right after college, nobody knows what they're doing. And by the time you're 24, 25, like a lot of them could surprise you and really grow up really fast. So don't write them off totally. Yeah, I agree. Um,

But you just, we've talked about it a few times. You just have to start living life for yourself. And when you put yourself in situations that you enjoy, you'll start to meet people you enjoy. Totally agree. I think that's a really good, like attracts like. Isn't that what they say? Yeah. Yeah, that's a good one. What are your recs for the week? Shockingly, my rec is Made in Manhattan.

I love that movie. Yes. And then also the other wreck I have is the powdered sunscreen. Like do like, have you seen that? Yeah. Which brand do you have it? Let me, let me look up the brand that I have. I've always wanted to try powdered sunscreen, but I just like haven't gotten my hands on it. You know, I sold that's the brand soul. S O L. Oh, sky and soul. I, I,

put on a bunch of like the greasy sunscreen this weekend. Like my face broke out and I was just like, no. So I ordered on, um, Sunday ordered like some powdered sunscreen and I used it for the first time today. And I was like, that feels much better.

So, something that's really interesting. I just literally learned this yesterday. So, I've been getting, like, little rosacea breakouts on my face. And I'm like, what the heck? Like, what's going on? Why all of a sudden? And I learned that... So, there's chemical and mineral sunscreen. And chemical sunscreen can cause breakouts, especially with rosacea. So, try to stick to just mineral sunscreen. Like, Elta MD is all mineral sunscreen. That's what I use. But I realize, like...

since brands were sending me sunscreen, I was just like trying them out, not thinking like what ingredients were in them. And I was like, what did I, what am I changing? And then I started looking, I'm like, Oh my God, almost all these new sunscreens are chemical. So I like have a new rule where it's like mineral above the neck chemical below the neck, which is really a good rule.

But like that's not for everyone, but for me and maybe you, we might have a sensitivity to it. Yeah, I must have a sensitivity to whatever I put on on Saturday because I woke up and I was like, what? My face is just like broken out. Yeah. So try mineral. Okay, that's actually... Let me see if this... Is powdered sunscreen... That's probably mineral-based. I can't imagine powder being a chemical base. Okay. I'll look. I'll read it. I'm excited about it though. Um...

Okay, I love that. I want to try powdered sunscreen too. Yeah, I'll send you this link right now. You should definitely try this. Apparently, it's really good for the skin. I wonder, like, I'm just always so curious, like, does the powder fall off your face or is it like really, do you feel like you have a lot of coverage with it? No, I feel like I have a lot of coverage with it. Okay. Yeah, my mom's used it for years. It's just like putting on bronzer.

Okay wait I'm interested now I like this I'm really into like I love that these brands are coming out with like SPF and all the products Like you can get like blush and bronzer And lip products and powder And I'm like I want to try it all It's so great yeah the skin coverage Is like it's in right now No sunburns is in I'm with you I'm wearing a hat and sunglasses In the sun this summer Yeah it is like we're not messing around With it anymore

uh do you have other rocks oh you said made in manhattan yep what about you um okay so i have a book and a tv show so my tv show is have you seen the show sirens on netflix no so megan fahey's in it julianne moore so okay it's like it's a it's a limited series it's five episodes i loved the first like three episodes and then all of a sudden i started like i finished the last two and i was like wait i'm

This is not how I expected the show to go. I didn't love the ending. But I loved the beginning. Essentially what it's about is this. These two girls. They kind of grow up in poverty. And one of the girls goes to work for this bajillionaire in North Fork. And she kind of gets sucked into this high society cult-esque rich lifestyle. And she's the billionaire's wife's assistant. And then her sister...

kind of loses touch with her over the year and is like I need to get my sister back like our dad's sick I need her help so she goes to to this island that they're on trying to get her back and she realizes her sister's like changed a ton and it's kind of like sucked into this high society cult lifestyle and like tries to get her back throughout the show and it's like I said it started out great but like the ending I was like oh I uh wasn't expecting that oh okay but it's only five episodes only five episodes okay might be a good watch I like that I like that plot

And then my other one, actually, Julie recommended this to me. It's a book called Paradise Problems. Oh. And it's an older book. Like, it's been around for a few years. It's by Christina Lauren. And I am just loving it. Oh, really? I started it yesterday and I, like, cannot get enough of it. It's about...

These two people who essentially like Have to fake being married In order for the guy to get To get his inheritance But they have to go to his sister's wedding And like he's From like a very very wealthy background But she's not so she has to like play this part of like This hoity toity rich wife And it's just so funny like Actually like the writing is very Very good and funny so I love it Oh I would also love to see that in movie form Like that sounds like something I would like to watch

I think it would be a great, great movie. I don't know why. Like Christina Lauren is a very popular, they're very popular authors. And I don't understand why their books haven't been adapted into a movie. Yeah. I mean, that's a good movie right there. So shout out, Julie. She's recommended me a few good, a few audio books. This is a book club. No, literally. And those are my recs. Okay, great. Well, there we have it.

Okay, perfect. Anything else before we sign off? No, I don't think so. No, I'm good. What about you? I don't think so. Okay. Well, we love you guys so much and we will see you next week. See you guys next week.
