Postpartum depression can manifest as feelings of lethargy, sadness, brain fog, and a flat emotional state. It often occurs around the two-month mark due to hormonal shifts, especially for breastfeeding mothers.
Managing postpartum depression can involve short-term medications to help regulate hormones, but some women find holding their baby and focusing on the positive aspects of motherhood helps manage the symptoms.
'Pajama gate' refers to a controversy involving two influencers who launched a pajama brand. The controversy arose due to the high price point ($98) for what many considered low-quality pajamas, compounded by a tone-deaf apology and the cancellation of orders from critics.
A good party guest should actively mingle, participate in conversations, and avoid sitting in a corner on their phone. Being a team player and engaging with others is key to making a positive impression.

Every single one of those. I'm like, those are good. Welcome back to another episode of Mean Girl Pod. Cute outfit. Thank you. You too. What are we wearing? Here they are.
i'm wearing our merch we're both wearing the same of our merch our merch launches this friday black friday 11 29 this crew neck and then also our hoodie and jogger set that alex posted on her instagram story a few weeks back so we're super excited what's the what's the uh what is the name of that grapevice grape ice yeah
Yes I'm so obsessed with it This is like Both of them are so Incredibly comfortable And cute And I'll say this About those sweatpants They're long Yes They are so long Which I love They also have zipper pockets And regular pockets Do you notice that?
Yes. Speaking of, oh yeah, I was like, speaking of, are my keys in my pocket? But I think, you know how last week we talked about color of the year? I think that like that grape ice or like a periwinkle blue needs to be the color because I love that color. It looks great on everyone. I completely agree. And they are cozy. And there's nothing better than a sweatsuit. And I love the way, it's like the most dainty, mature, little like,
branding on both of them you know what I mean like they're not too much they're just right yep and they will be available I mean we'll post the link everywhere but they'll be available on our Shopify Instagram you name it you'll be able to find it and yeah we're super excited and speaking what about the color yeah yeah yeah speaking of grape look what I have today
Is it grape? I mean, it's purple, but is the flavor grape? No. Well, technically, this is the Monster Energy Ultra Violet. But to me, this tastes like the most delicious grape flavor you can think of. Kind of like Big League Chew, that grape flavor. And I love this monster. I want to hear you. Oh, did you open it? Oh, I didn't hear you open it. I saw you open it. I really wanted to hear that click, that fresh, like...
You know how like when we get stressed, they should just make like an ongoing noise of like the can opening. That would just make me relax. I'd be like, oh, yep. Uh-huh. That sounds nice. Oh, you know, speaking of relaxing, I was listening to this meditation today. And basically, you know how you think you're relaxing when you're scrolling your phone? Like even if you're laying in bed or you're watching a TV show, you're scrolling your phone. Yeah.
It's it's a different there's a name for the receptor, but like you're you're you're just distracted, but you're not relaxed. And the only way you're ever truly relaxed is if you're doing nothing. Oh, I completely believe that. I feel like I am the most high strung and frazzled when I've been on too much technology.
Totally. And it's so, God, technology is just the worst beast ever, but it's so hard to get off of it because even if you spend an hour scrolling on your phone, it's better to spend one minute just in silence, like breathing. Right. And it's harder to do. I am very frazzled today. As you could tell, I was six, seven minutes late and I'm never late. Oh boy. That's like an hour late for you. What happened? What happened?
It's early for me and late for you. Being late is such a high anxiety of mine. But I, every once in a while, I'll get like very high strung and usually it has to do with when I get like too many notifications or emails or I have to do something that involves technology like posting or this or that. Like very not intense tasks, but they overwhelm me for some reason. I don't know if it's because I'm a perfectionist and like all those things happen.
I'm like very, they just like make me, what's not sensitized? What's the word? Stimulate. They overstimulate me. Okay. Okay.
But I was just like, I had a really rushed morning and then I left when I usually left, leave, but then the subway was delayed or maybe the bus was delayed. I don't know. Next thing you know, I was getting off the subway and I was like, oh my God, I only have 15 minutes to get here. It's a 20 minute walk. And then I had to stop at the little bodega and get a monster. And it was just, it was a little chaotic.
So you leave at the same time every day and you don't have to think about it because you're always early. But then like so you didn't even really know. Like it's not like you left your house late. That's what that's kind of crazy. Like you just looked at your clock and were like, whoa, I'm running late because that's funny. It's nice that you get to like zonk out on transportation, though, because you just know you'll be there on time. It's really frustrating with taking the bus and the subway because I so if we record at 130, I always leave at. Oh, my God.
No, I know why I'm late now. Why? I, oh my gosh, I am just crazy today. So usually I'll give myself an hour and 10 minutes. Today I gave myself 50 minutes. Oh. So I should have left at 1220, not 1240. That's, wow. Okay, so that's what happened. Okay.
She's like, I didn't know if it was the subway or the bus. Oh my gosh. Okay, wow. Well, it's very so unlike you. It could not be less like you. Before I got on like my anxiety OCD medication, I was always like this and I can't imagine a world where I was always this high strong. I'm like this.
The good news is you could be like, I'm running 20 minutes late and I'd be like, awesome. You know, literally like more time for me. Cool. That's like with all my mom friends or like the three I have. But if they, if I'm ever, they're the one person I feel like where it benefits them to be late because you guys always need extra time. So when you have a new, when you have a newborn. I, I cannot wait.
I like had a meeting before this and it was out of the house and it was at 10 and like Harrison and I started like gathering our items at 9 because I was like we're just like it's just gonna sneak up on us like she's gonna need this and then she's gonna need this and she's gonna need this you know and it's just like yeah oh my god I'm dead um how have you been how oh I'm trying to think what day when is it oh yeah it's the week before Thanksgiving a couple days before Thanksgiving now when this episode releases
Yeah, I'm pumped about that. That's my rose. What's your rose? Well, if that's your rose, what about it is your rose? Like, what are you doing for Thanksgiving? I love the vibe. Like, I love, like, so right now we're recording this the week before Thanksgiving. I love the week before. I love Thanksgiving week because I just feel like. Okay, so last year before I went home for Thanksgiving, I remember I was in New York and, like,
I left Soho House and it was like a Monday or a Tuesday and it was like, I don't know, 3 p.m. And Harrison was like, we're going to Pastis, which is where me, you, Pete and Harrison went. Right. Because, you know, it's like right by Soho House. And I was like, why? Why are we going there? And he was like, because this is this week, this whole week supposed to be fun. And we just like sat there and had like, you know, three Aperol spritzes and then just like walked around the city. And so next week I'm like, OK, you know, like, yeah.
you can kind of cut work an hour early, go do something fun. Like it's just a really laid back week and everybody's on the same page, I feel like. Oh, I love that. Are you guys celebrating Thanksgiving just in Austin? It's the most wonderful time of the year. Holidays on the house at DraftKings Casino. Yeah, what we're going to do is start like we're going to we're going to do a turkey trot. I know people like to make a lot of fun of people that do those. I'm so proud of you. I used to be a turkey trotter.
We're gonna voluntarily do a turkey trot And we're gonna make Tate's stroller Like we're gonna decorate it We're gonna like decorate her Yeah I'm like very excited about it Are you okay to run? I'm asking like a medical Am I okay? Yeah can you run post pregnancy? Just in general You can I like can't yet Like I tell you what I tried to do some like jumps the other day Like 10 in a row And like my body's just not there yet Did you pee your pants? I will be
Yeah, like I'll be power walking. I'm going to be power walking the turkey trot. But I think it'll be a fun tradition to do. I remember, quick side note, when I was younger, my mom's friend, she had a baby a little bit later on and she was like, I can't go on the trampoline with you guys. I will pee my pants. And I was like, why? My mom always said the same thing. So I was like, and I, you know the song Because of You by Kelly Clarkson? Yeah.
I just saw this video and it starts out and it's like, why can't you jump, mommy? And then it pans over to the kid and it's like, Kelly's like, because of you playing. And I'm like, oh yeah. I love that you guys are doing a turkey shot. I think that's a very fun tradition to do. I did that when I lived in Minnesota and I really enjoyed it. It's just like a fun atmosphere. I have no idea. I've never been.
So they always say like you're either like beware of the 5K families because there's always these people are like, oh my God, you're dating a 5K family, like a son of a 5K family. So like when you go there, you have to wake up early and run. And when Tate gets older, her future boyfriend is going to be like, oh no, I'm dating a 5K family. I'm dating a 5K family. Every holiday is a 5K. Yeah.
That's why I feel bad almost starting the tradition because I'm like, she's going to be a meme that's going to be like, oh, you know, who marries into a family that voluntarily wakes up and goes and does this, but we'll make it fun. We'll have mimosas afterwards, you know, like it'll be a fun day. And it's Tate's first Thanksgiving, and if she's not dressed up as a turkey, I don't want it. I agree. I'm like, we got to, you know...
Man, we got to get her turkeyed out and then... I want her to be a turkey. No, she can't eat food yet. Nope, no food for her. She's going to have milk on Thanksgiving. I don't know if she can eat like mashed potatoes yet or something. Okay, we went to Starbucks the other day and got a coffee and then we're like...
Getting our coffee On the coffee side And the barista's like She's a young Little 18 year old girl And she gets out A puppuccino And she's like I don't know If the baby can have Whipped cream or not And I'm like She cannot But it is so cute Like I didn't I wouldn't have known If a baby could have Whipped cream or not Before I had one Um
No, I don't know anything about baby timelines. My brother, one time, like a baby, my friend's mom had her baby. She came home from the hospital. My brother was like, so can she walk yet? And we're like, nope, not for like a year. It's funny because we live on a street with a bunch of like, I don't know, there's some maybe there's seven or eight year old girls and on Halloween they came over and
They're like, I really want to play with the baby. And I'm like, you think baby dolls, right? And like you can dress her up and X, Y, Z, and maybe the baby can even talk to you. And I'm like, this baby's different. It's not the baby that's in your head. I know. I wonder if, um, and I'm like, so fix it on this whipped cream thing. I wonder if she had, if she would, were to eat the whipped cream, if she would just have like explosive diarrhea. And I wonder too, like, would she smile really big because she like loved the taste of it? You know, would, I don't,
I don't know. Because she has taste buds, right? Yeah, she has taste buds. They're like developing though still. Wow. Oh my God. I know, there's so much. Babies are crazy. Yeah, they're so crazy. Okay, what's your rose? My rose is Wicked, the movie. Okay, yeah, I was going to tell you now that I've never seen it. You've never seen the play? No.
I don't know anything about it. I have no idea what's going on with this Wicked thing. I'm like so behind. So next time, it doesn't even need to be in New York. I think New York is just, is known for Broadway, obviously. But next time you and Harrison come to New York City, you guys go to Wicked. I'll babysit Tate and you guys need to go and see the play Wicked because it is phenomenal. I've seen it, I think three or four times. The music is so good. The acting, it is amazing.
It's awesome. And now they're making a movie based off the musical. It's a two-part movie. Ariana Grande is Glinda. And then Cynthia, I think it's Werevo, is Elphaba. What's the whole... Because it's been a thing for a while, right? Like, was it on Broadway? Now, is it only a play? Was it a movie? Like...
So Wicked is supposed to be the prequel to Wizard of Oz. So a long time ago, the book came out. And yeah, that's where people, I think, get a little confused. It's pre-Wizard of Oz era. But Wicked has been on Broadway for years. It's like one of the longest lasting and well-known Broadway plays. It's still on Broadway. But just now in 2024, they decided to make it into a...
major motion picture and it's a two-part masterpiece like I haven't seen I'm seeing it when this has come out I will have seen it but I'm seeing it on Friday like by myself I'm like I don't want anyone with me I want to experience this alone I'm so excited oh my god that's incredible yeah so wait when does the movie come out um it comes out I think tomorrow night Thursday the 21st oh
Yeah. Okay. Okay. So it's like a thing. Okay, cool. Yeah. It's just, it's, oh my God. It's just so good. Like when I think about my childhood or any type of like theater kid part of my life, I think about Wicked and I know all the songs. It's just, oh, I'm so excited. I just, I can't wait. And I think the, the casting was so well done and I can, oh, and like the coolest part is like
glinda and alphabet symphony and ariana like they sing live during it it's not even like um pre-recorded or anything and they do their own stunts it's just like they're so talented and i'm so excited okay that's really cool they sing live i feel like that's badass yeah so your homework will be to come to new york and have harrison bring you to wicked i wonder if he's seen it the play i
I wonder. His mom, like, loves plays. I don't know. He likes plays. He just likes going to things. I'll ask him. I don't know if he's seen it. Has Pete seen it? No. Pete doesn't like plays, which annoys me, but to each their own. Rolls her eyes. To each their own. He doesn't appreciate Broadway like I do.
That's fine. It's, you know what? It's better that way. Maybe let's talk about Lumen, which is the world's first handheld metabolic coach. It's a device that measures your metabolism through your breath. It's honestly, truly incredible. Jordan and I have both done it. And then on the app, it lets you know if you're burning fat or carbs, and it gives you a tailored guidance for
to improve your nutrition, your workouts, your sleep, and even stress management. So the way it works is you breathe into your lumen first thing in the morning, and then you'll know what's going on with your metabolism. So it'll be like you're burning mostly fats or mostly carbs, and then it'll give you the personalized nutrition plan based off of your measurements.
This is the reason it matters is your metabolism is your body's engine. It's how your body turns your food that you eat into your fuel and it keeps you going. And lumen gives you recommendations to improve your metabolic health and you can track your cycle. Also the onset of menopause, you can adjust your recommendations to keep your metabolism healthy through your hormonal shifts and you can keep your energy up and starve off your cravings. It's actually a group. It'd be a great gift, especially for like a mom.
So if you want to stay on track for your health this holiday season, go to lumen.me slash mean to get 15% off your lumen. That's l-u-m-e-n dot me slash mean for 15% off your purchase. Lumen makes a great gift. Thank you, Lumen, for sponsoring this episode. But yeah, so you need to see it. I think you would like it. Well, do you like musicals? Like when you go to plays, do you enjoy them?
I do enjoy them. I don't like, like, I don't crave going to them, but if I like had, I would never go, I would never ask you to go, but if you asked me to go, I would go and I would like it, but I don't initiate it. Okay. Yeah. So that's going to have to be something on your guys's New York bucket list next time you come. I think you would really enjoy it. And obviously at Broadway is just like an experience, even if the place sucks, like it's just fun to go.
I do love the whole Broadway song and dance, pun intended, but when I go, I never regret it. I think it's so New York. It's iconic, and it feels iconic. Oh my gosh, yeah. Yeah, so I'm super excited. I booked my ticket on Monday of this week, and there was only two seats left in the theater. I don't remember the last time a movie has been sold out, essentially. Like a full theater. Wow. Wow.
Maybe I'll do that this weekend, too. Do it. I don't think you need to see the play in order to see the movie. I wouldn't think so, right? Like, no, I bet not. No. I also love that it's a two-part movie. Like, I feel like we haven't had, like, a two-part movie since Twilight or The Hunger Games. Like, it's been so long since we've had a movie that people are this excited about, in my opinion. I can't think of anything recently. Okay, I can't remember...
I can't remember how two part movies work. What happens? Are they both out? You got to see them both. What do you do? So like the like the part one will come out and that's like the first part of the movie. And then I don't know. Usually it's like six months later. The second part will come out and that's like the second part of the movie. Oh, so they're delayed. OK, cool. Yeah. So I don't know for sure, but I would assume since Wicked is a two act play, the first act is part one and the second act is part two.
Yeah. Yeah. That makes a lot of sense. Okay. Yes. I'm excited. That is what I'm looking forward to. So, I know people listening are going to be like, well, the movie's already out, but we're pre-recording, so I'm sorry. Well, then they can go see it if they haven't seen it yet. Yes. What is your thorn? My thorn is I've been having...
like a little bit of postpartum depression and I yeah I was like I didn't have it the first six weeks she's eight weeks now and it like started it started creeping on in the sixth week then then came a little bit more in the seventh week and then like I actually like thought I didn't have it and then I like have it a little bit today so that's my and it's normal that it does come on I thought like if you had it day one then you had it or you didn't have it but
after like reading about it more, it's very normal that it comes on around the two month mark because you do like another hormone shift, especially if you're breastfeeding. And so, yeah, I like got it basically. I view it like I got like the flu. I'm like, oh, I got it. Some people don't get it. I got it. Is it similar? Like is postpartum depression different symptoms than, I know depression is like such a massive scale, but is it just similar to postpartum?
Going through a season of depression. But just postpartum. Or is there like certain things. That are like specific to women postpartum. That make it postpartum depression. So there's different like kinds. I guess of postpartum depression. So like some people feel. Nothing towards their baby. Some people feel.
Can feel like angry about everything they can feel angry at their like spouse because like nothing changed for them right like their body's fine and their mental health is fine and XYZ right some people feel that this likes it's called like sundown depressions like when the sun sets they like immediately get like depressed so there's like all these different kinds of
I just have this one where I feel this like feeling of like lethargic and sadness and like brain fog. Like I notice when I'm in it, like I can't remember. Like I just feel nothing. Like I'm just kind of like, okay, don't know. Like nothing to say and not sad about like one specific thing. You know, I'm not like I'm sad because I just feel like sad and it's like a flat line kind of. So that's in...
Most people I've talked to have said they had a version of that as well. And then like you can't get a lot done and because you can't get a lot done, then you get like mad at yourself and you kind of can like go down this spiral, which I have. But it's so funny because I don't have it all day every day. I have it in sort of like way. There was one day I had it all day every day, but kind of in just like comes in waves. It's really crazy how much.
like our hormones change our bodies and how literally one second of the day you can be fine. And then you might in a few hours of the next day, wake up and you will feel totally different. Like men will never understand how much women's hormones shift and how they affect us. It is so wild. But like, I like look at Tate and I think, okay,
If I didn't have my hormones, like she has my hormones, right? Like she has my hormones in her and then like her daughter will have my hormones. And it's like, if I didn't have this, like I created a person and then like, she's only alive based off of like food I made for her. So like, if that doesn't do some kind of shift to you, you know, I don't know what will. And so it is, it's so wild to think about, but I just never, I,
I was just like so uneducated on it coming into it and now I'm like, oh. Yeah. I mean, I feel like it's not a really talked about topic and I also feel like it's very dramatized where for me, like if you were to ask me what postpartum depression was, I would be like, oh, it's when the mom doesn't feel connected to their child or they are like so, so, so separated from what's happening and
And that's like all I would know because all I've learned about postpartum depression is like what I've seen on TV because it's just not a talked about topic. So I can't even imagine how you feel going through it because it's just not something that people really talk about on a regular basis. Yeah. And like all the different types too. And it's like, I just have, yeah, it's just, even though when I am, when I am kind of in it, like I love just like holding her, that helps a lot. But yeah, it's very difficult.
it's a bit odd. So, but I just take it as it comes, you know, I'm like, okay, if it hits, it hits. And I'm like, not hard on myself. And if it doesn't hit great, it's a great day. You know, does it like when it comes to postpartum depression, do doctors have a protocol to take or like ways that new moms can kind of, um, work through it? Or is it just something you just kind of have to sit with and let it fizzle, not fizzle out, but
Well, you fill out now they have you fill out these surveys. And whenever I filled it out, I remember I got like a six out of 10, I think. And so that's like not a high risk. But that was a long time ago. So if you if you have if you're high risk, then then they oftentimes will talk to you about if you want to take medication. And you know how with some antidepressants, it takes a while for them to kick in.
I guess there's some medicine you can take that's like a 30-day temp fix while your hormones kind of regulate. But I don't want to take any of them if I don't have to. I'm hoping that if I can keep it where it's at right now, then this to me is very manageable. But a lot of people did reach out and say there are medications you can take and they make a huge difference. And I know that there's short-term meds you can take too for this specific thing. But
My doctor just said, like, she referred me to a psychiatrist. But the point of the psychiatrist is they prescribe you the medicine. So I haven't, like, gone yet because I don't feel like I need to, like, at all. So I guess if it gets worse, though. And for people listening, like, if you have gone through it and things or if you're going through it or if you're, you know, in the future, talking to your doctor can – there are apparently medications that can help you, like –

If there's any new moms who are dealing with this listening, know you're not alone. And I hope that you keep us posted on how you feel because, yeah, it's just, I feel like it's almost looked at as like a taboo topic. I don't know why. Maybe not in the world of moms, but for someone who hasn't had a child, it's kind of like you don't,
You kind of like tiptoe around people who've had babies. Like you don't want to bring that up. I don't know why. But we need to debunk that and not make it so taboo and have it be more talked about. So it's nice that you brought it up. Yeah. And also like I think some people don't like to admit it because they think it takes away from like the joy of the baby. And one thing I'll say is like it is so real that I'm having the best time.
Day of my life like the best day of my life was the day that she was born and like since then have been the best season of my life, but like I can have a Phenomenal seven hours and then on the end of that seventh hour Can I just have like a dip of like sadness and like both can be true? Like it can be the best day ever filled with like sweetness and then it can just be like whoa I'm just in a phase of sadness and like to me. It doesn't take away from it at all like I
If somebody told me that, I'd be like, I totally get it because I felt that now. But I think some people think if they say they have postpartum depression, then people think they're like depressed and having a terrible time. And it's like, I'm having the best time. But there are moments where
I'm sad as fuck, you know? Yeah, I think with mental health, two things can be true at once. And it is scary because people are afraid to say they feel a certain way, like they're anxious or depressed because if they don't continuously act that way, people won't believe them. But with mental health, you can...
be in a like you can be depressed or anxious but then also the next day you could be okay and then you might feel depressed in a few days like you can feel both feelings but I just don't think it's so hard for society to like grasp on that just if you say you're depressed doesn't mean you are literally laying in bed 24 7 and you can't get out of bed
Yeah like people I remember back in the day like if somebody was like I'm depressed but then you know five hours later you like see them out you're like I thought like I thought she was depressed it's like she was when she sent the text. Yeah no literally. She got out of it which we should be excited about. It's scary how much of a flip of a switch it can be but that is so so true I used to be so scared to tell people that I was like anxious or feeling really low because I was like
They're not going to believe me because I have plans tonight, even though like deep down I'm like struggling so much and I don't want to go these plans, but I'm forcing myself to. I just don't want people to think that I'm not telling the truth or invalidate my feelings. And it's a very stressful thing to feel.
Yeah. And sometimes too, those plans help you once you get there. Like they can be the very thing that like help you or they can just further, you know, like you just never know. It's, you have to be like water with it. I always think it's just like so fluid because you just never know. I agree. Well, keep us posted and I hope that the holidays help a little bit because I know you're so excited for Thanksgiving and everything that's coming. I'm so excited. What's, what's your thorn?
So, my thorn is... They're not, like, really thorns anymore. So, it's just, like, funny. I was trying to think of something that was a little bit of a negative. And I realized... So, on...
Last Friday, Pete and I went to a French wine bar. I'm really realizing French food and wine is great. When we went to Patis? Patis? Pastis. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I never realized how much I love French food.
So we went there and I had a glass of white wine and then I had a glass of red wine and then I had another glass of red wine and then I had a glass of white wine and that's it. I had four glasses of wine. I woke up the next day with the worst headache and I'm like, Jordan, in what world did you think you could combine and drink white and red on the same night? This is a no-go ever again. Wait, is that a thing? You're not supposed to combine?
I mean, I think it's kind of like you should never mix your alcohols. Like if you're drinking beer, don't switch over to wine. If you're drinking vodka, don't switch over to like gin halfway through. So I don't think it's common. But also with red wine, I love it. But it's one of those drinks that if I have two glasses, I probably will get a headache the next day just because it's such a stuffy drink and has so much sulfate in it. But yeah, I woke up with like...
The worst migraine. I was like, what is happening to me? Oh, no. That's not, you know. You know. So you think you're a hangover person now? No. Kind of? No. I think that I just can't mix white and red wine. And if I have two glass, or if I have red wine, I just got to keep it to like a two glass minimum. Okay. So you just, yeah. And then you can drink the white wine though and you'll have no hangover. Yeah. White wine. I mean, as long as it's like a sappy bee, I've never really...
with other types, but I feel like I would be fine. But yeah, the combination of white and red, I was just like, oh my God. Brutal. Yeah. And then my other thorn, that's kind of a silly one, but I really wish that
group chats like were never created. They're the most stressful thing ever when you have like a group of friends who just text and text and text and you just like can't get to it at that moment and then you look at your phone and you're like why do I have a hundred text messages? I can't read all these like so much anxiety comes from that.
It's a really good point, actually. And I don't, I never even thought about an option of not having them. But, and if you have multiple groups, they're the best and the worst because no better time to loop everyone in instead of like side texting everyone trying to coordinate. But also then you are buried in messages. They're the best like in a short-term situation. Like I love them for work or when you're quick making plans and
But when you have that one group chat that just like talks random stuff throughout the day and you look at your phone and you're like, what is happening? Why do I have 300 text messages? There's no way I'm going to read them. And then I start to get stressed because I'm like, what if I miss important information? And I'm just like, I can't. I can't handle this. Your texts are zeroed out, right? Yeah, always. Like I have two texts right now and I'm getting stressed. How many texts do you have on your phone?
Let me guess. Oh, I'm going to say, oh, I was going to say like 390. But with that, oh, I'm maybe like 45. No, this is good. 161. 47 voicemails. Oh, my God. Yeah, that's scary.
10 calendar notifications. So are those like 100 plus text messages? Are those just some group chats that I've just sat there and you don't need to review? Or like, how does that not bother you having unread texts? It's bad. Like, there's a girl right now. Like, I just need to respond to her. You're in town this weekend. Like, okay, reply. Like, most of these...
What I've been doing is like getting on my laptop and just like banging them out because I've just been falling like really behind in the texting. I know when you text me back instantly, I'm like, whoa, like how did you just do that? Whoa. Yeah. Well, I think that, you know, I think that lately...

If you haven't yet, be sure to let them know we sent you after you place your order. Select podcast in the survey and select our show in the drop down menu that follows. Yeah, they're just wild to me. Before we get into any of our topics, let's should we quick chat about gift guides?
Yes, I was just thinking we should do that at the top. Yes. A lot of people DM'd us and were like, could you help give us gift ideas for like mom, dad, partners, brothers, sisters? So we're going to go through and give just a quick few ideas for different types of people in your life. You want to do boyfriend first? Yeah. Okay, what's your boyfriend one? Quick, Pete, if you're listening, just stop. Okay.
Please, please, please, please. I'm not saying I got you this, but I did not get you this, but it's like similar to what I got you. I think a really great gift you could get for your boyfriend if you're struggling would be some type of luggage. I don't think you can ever go wrong with luggage. Like, baize luggage is great. A great gift. Or like if they go into the office, like a nice work bag or travel bag. I think that's like a really nice gift.
boyfriend gift and then with that you can even get like them a nice toiletry bag just like any you can't go wrong with nice bags for guys that they have to use on a regular basis I think that's the great like a great gift love it phenomenal gift what about you mine are different so obviously mine are different not the exact same thing um
So one thing that I got Harrison in, and so if your boyfriend, like you could do it if you have a baby, but you could also do it for like special things in their life is Bobble bar has these like
It's a black, it's black and gold and it's a drawstring and it's like perfect for men because it's not super like flashy, but like it looks really cool on their arm, especially if they wear a watch. Like it's a nice compliment and you can customize it. So I put Tate on it, but you could put like your anniversary. You could put, I don't know, like a last name or like a street or something that like a work, something like that means a lot to them. And it came in like a week and a half. So what's it called? That.
Bobble bar. I actually am going to look into that. That looks, that sounds awesome. And it's like, so not flashy. Like the Tate, like he knows it says Tate. And then other than that, it just looks like a pretty dainty, cool bracelet. And he like loved it. Cause it's customized. So it feels really cool. I love that. Um, and then if you don't want to do that, my other thing was there's this brand called cherry, like C H E R R Y Los Angeles. And they have really cool like t-shirts and long sleeve shirts and
um that I think is and they're like a little western um but like like hip western and so I think those are good oh that'd be a great gift for my brother he loves like the cool t-shirts and stuff yeah it'd be a good one thanks Alex yeah okay what's your mom one okay so for um
Moms, I think a great gift would be, and this is also for dads too, like a pickleball set. I think pickleball is so in right now. So you can't go wrong with that. And then along with that, you could get them new pickleball shoes or like moms love like a good mom walks. You could get them like a nice pair of walking shoes and maybe like ankle weights. Like the, what are those ankle weights that we have? The ball of bands, ball of bands, um,
Or and like you get them like a nice wireless headphones like just like kind of like a set for doing their like hot mom walks. Love really love that. Bala bands were actually on mine. So. Oh, so. Yeah. So co-sign on that one. And then this one specific. But Aloe made that new knit sweatsuit. It's like cross stitch or knit. Um.
That I think like I think Aloe makes phenomenal sweatsuits, but this one looked very like elevated and mom-esque. So that was number one on mine. And then number two was, you know how the New Balance, this is like girlfriend and mom, but the New Balances and the A6 like made like they're like in style now, but they're like so comfortable. I think those are a great gift for moms. Oh, I love that. I was in my head. I'm always like Hoka's A6 like.
Just like a cool shoe and a comfortable shoe too. Yeah, that's like in style. So I think like, I think those are great for moms. I love that. What about for dads?
So my dad, they were a sponsor on last week's episode and it's like actually what I gave my dad last year for Christmas. Um, but we both enjoyed it and it's story worth, like I think it's the best gift and it's basically an email prompt to him that he replies to and you can like sift through the prompts and then you can either get his, you can see what he responds back or you can wait till the end of the year till it makes the book. But
I think it's like the gift that keeps on giving because the point is the older they get, like you have their memories like bottled up. Oh, I love that. Similar to that for dads. Um,
every not every year but most years I get my dad like a customized mug with pictures on it and this year since his mom my grandma passed away I got a bunch of pictures of like him and her me and my grandma and then I um I'm I customize a mug so there's like pictures of all of us on it so I think any type of like customized like mug or any like a book like story worth I think that's so great and
And then also, you can't go wrong with slippers for dad. The Ugg slippers are so in right now. And I feel like every single person is getting that for their boyfriend or their dad. Love that, man. I think that's phenomenal. That's great. It's really nice of you to do that mug for him. Yeah, I think I got him a customized one, I think like a year ago or two years ago, and it broke. So he did try to fix it, but it's like, all right, how long are you going to drink out of a cracked mug? Yeah.
Okay, it's very nice of you to do it, though, to get him a new one. And then if we have any male listeners, what are some gifts you could get for, like, a sister or girlfriend? Okay, have you seen these shoes? Solomon. They're, like, workout, but they're, like, they sell them at Kith. I'll text you a photo of them right now. Oh, those are sick.
They're like, yeah, they're, they're like super functional, but they're like really in style and really comfortable. Um, and you can like wear them to work out, but you can also like wear them, you know, those days where you're wearing leggings and like scrunchie socks, but you're not actually going to work out. Like these are perfect shoes for that day. So I think those are a really good one. And then, um, oh, I'm blanking on my other one. Why am I blanking on my, let me see. I wrote it down.
probably mean girl pod merch right exactly it's mean girl pod merch is exactly what it is um let me see here what wait what's yours while i'm looking for it um so i think that a cozy robe like i love my skims robe or my what's it called my i always wear it has the berries on it the do your what
Julie knows. Jerf Avenue. Yeah, Jerf Avenue, that robe. So like a robe, a nice PJ set. Love it. I would say like those two are great. And if you want to go on like a little bit more of like the luxury side, I think getting like your girlfriend a customized piece of jewelry is so great. Like similar to what you said for the bubble bar with like your anniversary on it. Like girls love like a sentimental piece from their boyfriend.
Okay, yes. And that's what I was... Mine is... Okay, have you seen these purse charms people are doing? Yes.
I think purse charms would be very cutting edge of you to do. So you can literally, there's like a million different ways you can skin the cat. But if you just Google purse charms, like different price points will pop up. I think those are super cool. And then I also think flannels are like, so I think if you go to revolve and then if you type in flannel, I think that your sister or your girlfriend would like any of the flannels on there.
I literally love all the gift ideas you just said. I'm going to steal every single one of those. I'm like, those are good. Back at you. I love the luggage. It's a really good idea. I never remember to do that, but that's a great idea. Yeah. My friend gave me that idea. I just like, you can't go wrong. Luggage gets so destroyed, but you also want very nice protective luggage and you just can't go wrong with like a good piece of travel equipment. Yeah.
It's so true. Also, guys, if you're listening and you just – if you go to Stony Clover and like – because we have time right now, which is what's so nice. You could put her initials on a bag and like I love their toiletry bags. That's like my favorite gift of all time is the one that you got me for my – or for Christmas like two years ago where you wrote mean on it when we first started the podcast. Yeah.
That was such a great gift idea. I stole that and now give it to like my friends for birthdays or things or like also too for like bridal showers or anything like that is just like any type of customized toiletry bag is so great. And you never regret it. Like you have to, you have to do a little planning in advance. You got to order it and then it comes in and you're just like, wow, I'm so glad I did this. Yeah, I agree. Do you want to talk, speaking of pajamas, do you want to talk about? Yeah. Pajama gate. Pajamas.
Okay. So for people that don't know what we're talking about, I feel like it got so mainstream that people probably do know what we're talking about now. But basically, these two influencers that are sister-in-laws launched a pajama brand. And I think to chalk it up to one thing, it was a bit tone deaf. The quality mixed with the $98 pricing was not great. Because there is...
Exactly
And then I think what happened was that was like one misstep. Okay. But I think that you can, you can own your mistakes. Um, but what's happening here is there's just a compounding list of errors. Like the apology was, it wasn't an apology. They posted a video basically talking about it and they lowered their price. But then they were like, by the way, we're not going to make revenue from this. Correct.
Yeah, we're going to break even at best. And it's like for $75, 80, what is it? 82 with shipping or something. You're going to break even on these pajamas. No, you're not. Like, no, you're not. It was like a backhanded fix for them because they were like, okay, we're going to, we're going to listen to you and make them a more affordable pajama. But because of you guys, we're not going to make revenue. It's like, what? Like,
They... A lot of people were kind of mocking them Being like... So basically all of you are too poor To afford our pajamas So what we did was We lowered the price And it's like... No, just make pajamas that are high quality And price them at $98 Or make the pajamas you made And price them seriously At like a $30 price point Yeah And then on top of that They...
where we're canceling orders to that because when this came out, everyone was like, oh, I want to buy them just to do an honest review of. And they were noticing that and canceling orders because they thought that people were ordering them just to like talk poorly of them, which you can't do as a business. You can't like cancel orders to people because you think they're going to give you a bad review. So that was another thing.
So that one, that to me was the most wild one. It's that influencer Gabby who has like 5 million on her main account and 1 million on her burner account. And she's like, okay, I'm going to buy these pajamas and I'm going to give them an honest review. And then the next morning she's like, they canceled my order. And she has a DM. So there's two sister-in-laws that are doing pajama gate. One's brunette, one's blonde. The blonde's named Samantha. Yeah.
Samantha like DMs her and is like, we canceled your order because you posted on Reddit that you were going to leave us a bad review no matter what and that's slander and intent to harm or something. And it's like...
That's like an insult to the legal community. That's an insult to words. She's just saying she's going to leave an honest review. That's just like freedom of speech. She's just saying I'm going to review the pajamas. Also, Gabby was like, in what world would I say that on Reddit? And two, you don't know who has Reddit. So how would you know that was me saying it? And I was like, oh, that's actually a very valid point.
And she's like, if you searched every Reddit IP address, trust me, I'm not on there. Like, yeah. And I think it's just like, literally, no. That's a place where people go and talk. But like, she's not on there engaging in Reddit. And like, in what world would she post on there? I'm going to leave a bad review no matter what. It's like, what? No. And then on top of that, Cecily, the other...
sister-in-law. So it's Cecily and Samantha. Cecily
On one of her videos, someone was comparing Avery Woods' Madewell collaboration to Cecily in Samantha's pajamas. And they were like, why didn't Avery get this much backlash when she came out with an expensive line? And Cecily apparently liked the comment. And then after she liked it, Avery texted her and was just like, what is this about? And then Cecily deleted the comment and
And now that's another thing where people are like, well, now you're being very sketchy to a good friend of yours. And Avery went on her podcast and was like, Cecily was one of my great friends. I've been nothing but supportive of her and people comparing my Madewell collaboration and her pajamas is like apples to oranges, which it totally is. But she was like, you don't just you don't like a comment bashing one of your friends. You defend them or you immediately delete the comment. So that was another thing that they did.
And I think like in terms of missteps, it's like, okay, one, number one, like I liked Avery's point of her made well collab, which is so cute. Like you can wear year round, right? So like her price point can be higher than like this $98 for holiday pajamas that aren't made. It doesn't even make any sense. Oh, I think it's Mayfair, Mayfair collab. Oh, I'm sorry. Mayfair, Mayfair. Yes. Yes.
And then, but I think the other thing is like, these girls are just at every turn, not like getting in front of the problem. Like they're not playing offense. They're just playing defense. Instead of being like, we messed up. We priced these wrong. We're cutting it in half and like we're refunding everyone. And for everyone that buys one now, we'll donate one. Something like really cool. And then for Gabby, it's like send Gabby five pairs of pajamas with a handwritten note. And it like,
Let her like send her the pajamas. Let her do the review. If you're so confident in them, send her 12 pairs. Oh yeah. Own your mistakes. And it really does baffle me when large influencers don't just face a problem head on and try to like do things behind the scenes. Cause I'm like, the internet is crazy and they will catch every little error that and thing that you do like delete this or that.
And when you do things like canceling people's orders versus sending it to them, it looks like you're just hiding stuff. And then you look guilty. And now I am really sketched out about this pajama brand because you're kind of showing us that, hey, it isn't the quality because we think that Gabby will give a bad review. And here's the thing, too, like,
If Gabby commented that and I guess Apparently like one thing I know Gabby just did not do was comment Under her name Gabby on Reddit like that is So insane but like pop up That Reddit comment let's see it Samantha Right it doesn't Exist and she just used Reddit because she knows Everybody on there has burner accounts like It's just like you can't just say that because Then Gabby's gonna literally be like no I didn't
Yeah, they're just you would think being that large of a creator. I'm not sure how large Samantha is, but I know Cecily is huge that they would they would know how to handle these PR situations a little bit better and just there's nothing wrong with just admitting you're wrong. I actually respect you more if you admit you're wrong and you try to fix the problem.
Well, that's the only... Yeah, I would entirely respect you more. Because, like, it's okay to make a mistake, but you just got to get on there and be like... Their apology, where they never apologized, actually. It was so scripted. And they were just like, thank you all. Like, we know you're so excited about the pajamas. Just like we are. We stand by the quality. And it's like, then ship Gabby those PJs. Right? Yeah, it was just...
A mess. Has Gabby done a review? No, I don't think she's gotten pajamas yet. Because she said she's going to use a different name and a different address and a different state. She's like, I'm getting these pajamas. And I'm like, get them. Go get them. Well, that's the thing, too. It's like, if I'm Gabby, that's going to make me fight 10 times harder to get these pajamas and then also be so much more critical about you versus if they would have done what you said where you sent her some, read a handwritten note. She'd be like, wait, I don't want to be so hard on them. That was really sweet. Yeah.
No question. And to do the first review, somebody did, like, she got the wrong sizes or something, which was just funny. But, like, I do want people... Listen, if the pajamas are worth $98, somebody needs to come out and say it. Yeah. No problem. Great. Yeah. These girls. They need to hire a PR team. And also...
Cause I think the thing is like people are allowed to make mistakes online. You're allowed to, that's how people learn. Like, Oh, any good founder made some messed up price or something at some point of, you know, whoever created a product, I'm sure.
Yeah. You know? And so it's like, it's okay that these girls like did that, but the way they are handling it is just like exposing their true colors left, right, and center. Like I do not understand. Yeah. What really got me was the thing with Avery Woods. Cause I, I really love that side of mom talk. Like not the Mormon moms, which I do love, but I really love the,
the influencer moms, like the Avery Woods, Emily Kisner. I did really like Cecily Bachman. And I know that they're good friends. I see them go on brand trips together. They hang out organically. So when I saw that Cecily was kind of throwing Avery under the bus because Avery, with success and just not being a good friend, I was like, this makes me not like you as a person anymore because now you're just not being a good friend. Where...
Like Avery on her podcast talked about multiple different times that her and Cecily, like she's been there for Cecily and for Samantha too. So I was just like, that's where I kind of like, Cecily, you're getting unfollowed from me. Totally. And I think that that's very real in moments like that happen and you kind of learn about the people that you follow. But yeah.
It's just like bigger than her It just feels bigger than social media Like when you have to handle something like that You know it's like You have to show you're like a human And she's just not doing it Yeah oh yeah this is definitely going mainstream This is true For the men's pajama gate And they could have stopped it right out of the gates
They could have just been like, we fucked up. We're lowering. Like, I don't know what they would have done. They needed some PR person to tell them like, that's not us. But all I know is this canceling of the order of these responses, like these weird videos they're both making. It's just like, what? No, it's wild. You would think by now people would just realize to just deal with the problem head on on social media because people love drama and you're just giving them more drama to talk about.
Yeah, did Kennedy Urich's ex-boyfriend make a joke about DMing Sophia LaCourte? Yes. I'm getting a nod from Jules. So, I can't remember. I think it was the boyfriend. Julie, correct me if I'm wrong. Was it the boyfriend that had the ketamine drama? Was it that boyfriend? Yes, and they broke up again. Yes. Yeah, so...
Kennedy's ex, the one with the ketamine drama, he made a comment and was like, Ken, when we weren't together, I was like this close to DMing Sophia LaCourte because like Ken and Sophia got into a little bit of tiff and Ken called Sophia that little ginger bitch. No, yeah, that little ginger...
Yeah, that little ginger bitch. She did call her. I couldn't remember if she said the actual B-word or not. So Sophia was like, I'm going to come for your boyfriend next, Kennedy. And then Kennedy's ex-boyfriend, when they got back together, was like, yeah, I was about to DM her. And Kennedy's like...
In what world? She's like, why would you ever DM a girl on social media to get into the crossfire? Because she was like, you're just going to get dragged. And then she was like, are you going to, were you trying to use me for clout? Like, she's like, you're a normal person with a normal job. Why are you trying to get into social media, niche social media drama? So, yeah, she made a whole video about that. Yeah, I just don't think it was the play he thought it was.
Right? It's like, you guys live in Austin. She lives in New York City. Why would you DM her after she also threatened to steal Kennedy's boyfriend? Right. Just to, like, do it? Like, did you think, like, there's an event, like, oh, gotcha? Yeah, right? It was just weird. And also, you're, like, a normal person. Don't get into internet drama besides Kennedy tracking you for doing ketamine. Yeah.
Yeah. You got yourself into that internet drama. It's so funny. I mean, guys should always respect women, but you would really think that guys dating an influencer would respect them 10 times more because it's like, do you want them to talk about you online? Yeah. Do you want to go down this rabbit hole or not? Oh my God. Oh, also, I have to tell you this story because I feel like
you're very good about being like a guest of a party. And I was at a friend's giving last weekend and these two girls came and they were friends of a friend. So they weren't like a direct friend. They were a friend of a direct friend. They got like a plus one invite. And the one that gave them the plus one invite
couldn't end up coming but they still came anyways which I was like wow like props to I love that you guys are coming like that is so bold they got there and they just like sat in the corner the entire time and didn't even try to mingle with anyone participate we were all were like what are they doing this is so weird like everyone is like hanging out having a good time and they were just sitting there on their phones and we're like why did you come how many people were there like
10 or 12 like there was like a it was like a decent amount oh or it was like an intimate that's gathering yeah that's intimate enough where like you absolutely have to talk to everyone especially in New York like when you're in an apartment that's so small where you can see everyone at the same time unless you go to the bathroom they were oh my gosh do you think they just were like nervous to talk or what was the deal I don't think so because
We gave them multiple opportunities to be included and it's almost like they kind of brushed it off. Like I talked to them briefly, but then they would just go back to kind of sitting in their corner and doing their own thing. And we were like... And then they also kept asking questions.
when they were, everyone was going to go out and like, can we go out yet? Like, what's the plan after we're going to go out? And the hosts were my two closest friends. They were like, okay, now you're just like insulting us because it's like you're not having fun at the Friendsgiving with our friends and you just came here to like meet going out buddies. That's exactly what I was thinking. Like you're just using like the group to go out with after. Yeah, it was just weird. No, and it made me think of you because we've talked about like you have to be a good friend
especially if you are a plus one. Like if someone, if your friend brings you or your partner brings you somewhere, like you got to put on your A game.
you got to put on your a game and like, you have to be a team player. Like you have to be like, I don't care. Cause if you care about going out afterwards or something, then like, just go out, you know, like don't, don't even come just like make that your main point of the night. But like when you are invited to something, I think you just say, I don't care where the wind blows me. Like, I just want to go and have a good time and talk to people. Exactly. So yeah, it was so odd. I, I just remember everyone and everyone started to like whisper and be like,
What are they doing here? Like, I heard multiple people do that. I'm like, you don't want to be that person people are talking about. Like, you're not even friends with these people. You're a plus one and your friend didn't even come. I mean, kind of a...
A really cool move. Like you could have told me two things when you told me that the friends didn't come and that their plus ones still came. They came. They were lovely. They talked to everyone. And like, they're your new friend. Could have gone that way. But the wildest move in the world is that they were plus there. They were a plus one and they still came even though their connect didn't come and they didn't talk to anyone. I know. Intimate friends.
Party. Because my thought was like, oh, they're coming to make friends and meet new people. Like, this is awesome. Like, I always commend people for that. Like, I think that's so bold and brave. But when they didn't do that, I was like, why are you here? Oh, it's obviously that you just want to go out with a big group of people. Yeah, like the confidence that they would have exuded if they came to like chat, but...
Interesting. Yeah. And I didn't end up finding out if they went out with everyone after because I went home early because I can't stay up past like 10 p.m. I told my friends, I was like, can I go? Or I was like, I'm going to go. And they're like, we figured you lasted longer than we thought. And we know you're going to go. What did you take? What did I bring? Yeah. I brought dessert and I made little pastry puff Nutella Christmas trees.
So it was like a pastry puff and then you put Nutella in it. It's super easy to make. You just take pastry puff, you put Nutella on and then you take like a cookie cutter of a Christmas tree and you put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 350. And they're like these little pastry puff sandwiches with Nutella. They were a hit. That's adorable. Thank you. Yeah. That's a, was it BYOB? Yeah. Obviously I brought Sapien Blanc. Okay.
I love it. Okay. Did Pete go? No, he couldn't go because he had to go or he did not have to go. He got to go to his sister's birthday.
Oh, yes, he did get to go. I was wondering what you were going to say. Yes. He had the honor of going to his sister's birthday. But yeah, the Sauvignon Blanc was great because it's like red wine season to everyone. Everyone brought like a cab. So I drank the Sauvignon Blanc all to myself. It was great. No one wanted white wine. No one wanted a glass. No one was like, oh, can I try? No, it was actually so bad. This is like so petty of me, but...
It was really good white wine. And it was like BYOB. And I saw the two girls that weren't talking to anyone approach my wine. And I was like, oh, no, you're not getting any of my wine. So I like went up there really fast and poured the whole like half the bottle in my cup. Drink it because any of my friends wanted some. I would have been like gladly. But I was like, I'm not giving my wine to you, too. You're not even trying to be my friend. Well, they just kind of were using the party. So like that's just not it's just not the vibe. Yeah.
I was like, nope, this is my wine now. So then I drink it. I love it. Nope, this is my wine now. I've been really into French Sancerre's. Oh, you know what I'm going to do? What? This is like sort of related, but not. I'm going to get oat milk, real milk, and then breast milk. And I'm going to blindfold Harrison and have him try all three and see if he knows the difference. Oat milk, regular milk, and breast milk.
That would be an incredible video. I don't know what breast milk tastes like because I know what it smells like, but I haven't tasted it. So it could be very obvious. Humans can, of course, humans can drink it, but it wouldn't harm someone if they drank a bottle of your breast milk, would it? No, it's good for you. It has real-life colostrum in it. It's like 20% colostrum. And then like, did you know anything I'm immune to, Tate's immune to because she's drinking my breast milk? Oh, I didn't know that.
So Harrison had a little cold, but he had it the week that she was born, actually. I never got it. And so my doctor was like, you're not going to get it because you already have the antibodies because you've been around them for three days. And she's not going to get it if you breastfeed her. That's fascinating.
Yeah, it's great. So like she has all the antibodies that I have. But anyways, what was I going to say about your Friendsgiving? Oh, you've inspired me, I think, to have a Friendsgiving. What if I did this? What if I had a Friendsgiving with my neighbors who have a baby and then I told them to invite a couple that has a baby and then we invite a couple that has a baby and then everyone meets with their babies? I love that. I love the idea of like what you just said, how you're like, okay, you invite one person and they're in charge of inviting a couple and they're in charge of inviting a couple. Like what better way to get to know people?
Yeah, it's like a really... For a new city, it's like a great... And I have to kind of do it on Monday because I feel like people will start going home Tuesday or Wednesday for the holiday. You should definitely do that. I feel like there's nothing more at this age that I love than a dinner party or a get-together that's just casual with food and wine. And what better way to do that with moms who want to go home and get a good night rest? Like, it is a dinner party, especially... Oh my God, it's just...
How did your friend do it? Everyone brought something. Everyone BYOB'd. Was it seated? Was it just like
So it was everyone bring a dish to enter BYOB if you want to drink. And then unfortunately it wasn't seated because in New York it's just too small. So they just had like a massive table and it's kind of like buffet style or potluck style. You just go up and serve yourself. And then there was like games and it was like a really it was a really fun time and like a great gathering because there was like people from different people's lives. Like there was work friends and like high
high school friends and people you met in college or New York friends besides those two girls. So it was just like, it was a very fun mix of people. God, I hope they don't listen. Well, if you do listen, be nicer. If you listen, Jordan wanted to talk to you. Okay. Like she wanted to hang out with you. She was, she's great. I like know you too. And I know you gave them ample opportunity. I did. I even took pictures of them. Oh goodness. That's nice of you.
Oh my God, that's hilarious. Okay, well, yeah, I think that... Okay, so wait, what was your favorite dish? I like love Friendsgivings, if you can't tell. Well, so like my favorite dish for Thanksgiving is mashed potatoes, but the best dish at Friendsgiving, and this is going to sound so lame, but my friend, she made this salad, and Alex, you would have died. It was like the most incredible salad I've ever had. The dressing was delicious. It was delicious.
I don't know exactly what it was, but that was so good. And then someone brought macaroni and I haven't had like macaroni in so long and it was incredible. That's great. Macaroni is just like a killer. We're going to do macaroni on Thanksgiving. Just a killer dish. Yeah. So that was, that was really good. Yeah. I'm so glad you had that. Thank you. But before we wrap up, I, we do need to tell everyone. So next week is,
We're going to be putting out an older episode that I recorded with Catherine Ebbs when Alex was on maternity leave. So that will be next week's episode. And it's a great episode. Catherine is phenomenal. And she's she's from the Midwest as well. And she now lives in Texas. So she's like a Midwest Southern gal. And she was born and raised in Florida. So it was like all the areas.
So we really love her. We love her based off of where she's from. But then after that, Alex and I will be together in L.A. recording. Is that right? Well, that episode that comes out after that, right? The second? Yeah, yeah, that's right. I was like, I think so. Yeah. So we'll have another in-person episode for you guys in two weeks. Heck yeah, I'm so excited for the L.A. trip. Yesterday when you were, Alex was like texting me like what things we could do. She's like,
Would you want to go to Catch? I was like, yeah. She's like, would you want to go to Craig's? I was like, do you know who you're talking to? Do you want to go to Alfred's? I'm like, are you kidding me? This is literally my life bucket list for LA. I was like, yes, yes, yes.
West Hollywood is like my area but ever since I've been dating Harrison I've always stayed in Venice and like I'm a fish out of water there but West Hollywood I got I mean that's the area that I'm like oh yeah I got this which I'm really excited to to explore more of because when I went to LA um the one time I went for fun um besides work Madeline and I I think we stayed in Venice and
Or what's the city right next to Venice? You stayed in Santa Monica, I think. Yes, Santa Monica. And if you go to West, like West Hollywood is hard to get to. So we just didn't really get to explore it, which I was bummed about because I wanted to see a lot of the things in West Hollywood. It's my number one place. It's where I would live if I lived in LA. And a lot of people disagree with that, but like it's my spot. So I think you'll love it. Can you give me like what's in West Hollywood that I would know?
Well, the Alfred Catch. There's... Is that where Polo Bar is? Or the Polo... No, that's in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Oh. Is that far from West Hollywood? No, actually. It's not that far at all. It's like 12... Well, it can be 12 minutes. We could like actually easily go there. Well, so I went there with Madeline and I remember she told me, she was like, if we pick... This all makes sense now. She's like, if we pick the...
the Beverly Hills Hotel Polo Bar because I remember you recommended it to me. She's like, we can't go to West Hollywood also because it's just like too much traffic at that time of the night because where we were going after was back in Santa Monica. So she was like, we just can't do both. So she's like, pick Beverly Hills or West Hollywood and I pick Beverly Hills. So I don't think I've been to West Hollywood at all.
I don't think you have either. There's like this Melrose street area that I love to walk down and it has like, wait, Oh, like the earth cafe. Um, I've never been to. Okay. But see, I don't think you would like it. Okay. I trust you. You would like, you'll, I think you'll like this, this little area in West Hollywood. I think you will like love. Oh, I'm excited. How are we going to fit this all in?
I know. It'll be, we'll be effective. Yes, we will. And we'll, and we are going to be recording episodes there. It's going to be great. So next time you see us. We're staying near the studio. I interrupted you because it was delayed. Sorry. That's okay. So next time you see us though, we'll be in together. We'll be in together. We'll be together. We'll be in the studio together recording. Yes. That's what I meant.
Exactly. Perfect. Okay. Well, we hope you guys all have a fabulous Thanksgiving. Yeah, happy Thanksgiving. We love you guys. We love you guys so much, and we'll talk to you guys soon.
