It's Live in the Bream with the host of Fox News Sunday, Shannon Bream. All right, this week, Live in the Bream welcomes back a guest that I'm a big fan of for so many reasons. I have loved so many of her books. We have talked about them here, but she is doing something that is going global, and it's going to involve all of you if you want to get involved, and people around the world. I think they've hit almost 180 countries for something really special today.
that is coming up. Jenny Allen, welcome back to Live in the Bream. Oh, it's great to be here, Shannon. Thanks for having me.
Okay, so we have talked many times in the past. You've got your own ministry and teaching and sharing and bestselling books and all of these amazing things. But we had talked about at one point that there was something coming that would be for everyone for across the globe. And it's coming. I mean, we're here. It's called Gather 25. Tell us what this is. Yes, Shannon, on February 28th, we are going live from the US, but it
It will not stop there. We will go around the world. We are going live from six continents worldwide.
to every country. I mean, we've got hosts and events happening all around the world. It's beautiful. There's almost 10,000 hosts hosting. And the magic of this moment is for the first time in history, it's possible to live stream the entire global church together because of technology that can translate. We're able to translate in over 80 languages live. It's just such a magical time to be alive.
And so we're inviting every person that believes in Jesus to come together at some point in these 25 hours that we will be live and to see what God is doing all over the world. It will encourage you. You will feel like the church is thriving and growing. You will see revival happening on every continent, especially and specifically with young people like we've seen in the U.S. It is...
It's magical. And we're going to hear from some of the best speakers in the world. You're going to see worship from every different culture and background. It will be, I mean, picture it's a small world, but for the church and watching the church work together, watching God move in a really powerful way. I'm so excited about it.
Yeah, and so the event is February 28th through March 1st. It is going to be 25 consecutive hours of prayer, worship, repentance, and commissioning. And I love this emphasis on just cutting across all kinds of cultural, denominational, whatever lines there are. I was thinking when you're describing it there of a trip I was on in Israel, and we went to visit Israel.
the area that's believed to be the garden tomb. And there were these believers from another part of the world who were there singing songs. And I couldn't understand the words, but I knew the tune. I knew that they were singing a worship song that we all knew. And, you know, there's a sign there if you've been there that says he is risen. And one of the men was pointing at it and saying, he's rising, he's rising. You believe, right?
And I was like, yes, we can. I mean, your English is a lot better than whatever language I would be trying to speak to you. But I hear what you're saying. And we're united in this thing that we can't maybe communicate as easily. But we're united in this belief and the hope that comes from that. And that's that's what Gather 25 is going to really focus on, too. I mean, it has been the most fun, Shannon, going around the world and
Within moments, hugging brothers and sisters in different cultures. And we feel like family. It's so fun. We never see this. We never think about this. But...
This team we're on as believers in Jesus is really big. I mean, 2.5 billion people say they love Jesus. It's really big. But we always are discouraged. We always feel like it's, you know, it's Christianity shrinking and it's not growing. And certainly in the context of the U.S., that can be true in certain cases. But it is not true around the world. And I think it is going to give people such anxiety.
hope and such connection to what God is doing everywhere. I mean, our world naturally is smaller than it's ever been because of travel, because of technology. And so what a great way to spend that technology and that time together, seeing how powerful it is that God is doing really special things.
Yeah, and so just to keep telling people a little bit more information about who they're going to hear from, I mean, you're going to speak Matt Redman, Tanya Pruitt, Priscilla Schreier, Sadie Robertson-Huff, Rick Warren, Lou Giglio, I mean, Francis Chan, I could go on and on, JP Pakluto, we just had him on. So many of these folks have been on the podcast, but gosh, it's not about them.
They're just bringing the message and keeping this going for 25 hours. But there are ways that people can gather. There are gather groups. You mentioned like roughly 10,000. Tell us what those are and how people can personalize this experience and get personally involved.
Absolutely. It's so easy. You can go to gather25.com. And when you go to the site, you just click I'm in and we ask a few simple questions and then click the box that says, I want to host a group. And that can be in your living room. It doesn't have to be complicated, but we're going to give you every tool and everything you need to host in your local church, to host in your living room. Our hope is that
All over the world, there are churches and living rooms and college dorm rooms full of people that are tuning in and just having a watch party of this beautiful prayer gathering. Really, we're going to be praying. We're going to be worshiping. It's yes, it is.
unbelievable communicators stationed around the world, as well as African, some of the best African communicators and Asian communicators. And we have all kinds of people that will be sharing their story and what they see God doing and calling all of us to just, you know, I talk about unity and I say, you know, I don't believe that God called us to unify over every issue.
I think he called us to unify over the person of Jesus and the mission of the gospel. And so we can do that. For 25 hours, we're going to do that. And I mean, it's so special. We have so many denominational leaders that have said, yes, I think this matters and I think it's important. And I've been encouraged that there's not massive division surrounding this. It really is just we can come together and pray and ask God to move on earth in this generation. And
It's a special time to be alive. When I go to India and I'm talking to pastors there with the biggest smile on their face and they say, "You know, I've been stoned twice for the gospel." And my friends, they get beaten as well. But you know what? We just show up for each other. We take care of each other.
And always our church grows when we're persecuted. And he's just smiling, telling me this whole story. And he said, so you're kind of sad when you're not persecuted. Like just hearing these stories, we're telling over 30 stories from around the world, will just melt everyone because these leaders are joyful and excited for what God is doing around them, even in the most sometimes discouraging and desperate situations. Hmm.
I think about Paul in Corinthians where he talks about struggling with his own weakness, but saying, you know, your power is made perfect to my weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ may rest. His power may rest on me. He talks about hardships and all of these different things. And I get that where, you know, there are times when you've been pressed, you've been struggling, and yet there's a nearness to God and
realness of him showing up in those really difficult times and I imagine that sort of like with these ministers and leaders in India are sharing with you that idea that being persecuted for something that is unpopular is certainly Paul experienced on steroids there's something in that if you can see the purpose of God working through all those things and it's different on every continent every country where
Faith is or isn't accepted based on, you know, the government there, the leaders there. So our brothers and sisters around the world are all having different experiences, but with this commonality of trying to share hope.
Yeah. Yeah. My hope is that everyone that watches this will, number one, be so encouraged about the state of the church in the world. And number two, that they will be able to see glimpses of the persecuted church they've never seen before. We have an entire hour dedicated to the persecuted church. And the stories we're going to tell of the persecuted church are just, it's going to blow everybody away. These are stories that are really difficult to tell because it's
It's not safe for them to share their stories even, but they're willing to do it. We're doing everything to protect their identity. But it is, yeah, it will give everybody such perspective. And I think that changes us, you know, when we really see what for some today in this world today, it costs them everything.
It helps us feel more focused and have purpose about what we're doing as well. So I just think we need this right now. I think we need this moment to come together to pray, to worship, to believe God together. And our hope is out of this. We are going to launch a fund and a campaign together.
called Everybody Everywhere. And it is this idea that we would send into the world all of these people that gather. We're going live through TBN radio. We're going live through, of course,
YouTube and the internet everywhere. I mean, it will reach a lot of people. And the idea is that we would mobilize together. And if each of us were on mission in our places, we could reach the 5.5 billion people that don't know Jesus yet. And so that's my hope is that this would just be a moment where the church goes, you know what?
we can accomplish more if we work together. And you know what? There's a lot of us. So what could we do? And this movement of just praying, the dream is to pray for five. We're building a really simple gospel tool with Bible Project, 60 seconds long. You can share the gospel with your Uber driver or your cashier at a store. Like it's really quick and beautiful and simple. And we're also bringing together all these alliances that are doing the work that we can't do in places that
that, you know, it's difficult to get to. And so, you know, I think as we work together to fund that, as well as share the gospel in our places, I think we could have such an incredible decade. The dream I have is that every single person would hear the gospel by 2033. And that is not just my dream. Many organizations like
Alpha and Bible Project and YouVersion and Empower 21. All of these organizations are working towards that same goal. So I think we're looking at a really special decade of ministry. 2033 is the 2000 year anniversary of ministry.
And so what a moment that if we could see that happen, Bible translation is doing their job. We're going to see the Bible translated into every heart language by the year 2033. I mean, there's so many miracles that we're a part of right now. Really are. And I find that when you're talking through all these things, too, what I'm reminded is that
Man, God loves every single human being walking this face of this earth so much. And he wants them to know that. He wants them to know the hope that he offers, the love that he offers. And we're his ambassadors and we are his workforce to get out there and share with people.
across all these different lines. Something else I think is really beautiful, and again, if you want to know more, Gather 25, it's the number 25, gather25.com, as we're talking to Jenny Allen about the organization and the dream that this has been now finally coming to fruition. I love too that you've got a worship album. It's multilingual. It's artists from all different languages and around the world who are part of this that will be a lead into this in late February. That project's out too.
Oh, I mean, guys, this is the biggest group project ever. There's so much needed on every continent, every place. And Matt Redman, just with all his heart, with some help from Jason Ingram and many other artists that you would have know, have worked so hard to build this album. And it is so beautiful. The first song we released is called Revival Generation.
And it is because we're watching it around the world, right? I'm watching it in prisons. I'm seeing it on college campuses, as you've shared with your audience. I'm a part of that as well. And so we've just seen it. We've seen revival spreading. And that's our prayer, right? This is a giant prayer. Please, God, bring more.
Revival so often starts as just little sprinkles and places, and then it moves to rain, and then it moves to hopefully a storm. And that is what we are praying. And we hope that we are helping to feed the work that God's doing on earth is just
God, more. We want to see the church come back to you. We want to see people that don't know you love you more. We want to see you move in a really powerful way. And so these songs are just such a cry of that heart. And oh, they're so good. I hope everybody can download it. It's Gather Worship, and the first song is Revival Generation.
Well, and also if people want to give prayer support ahead of this, you are having gatherings for people to pray for the efforts that will unfold. How can folks get involved with that?
Yes. So we have a prayer guide that is coming out on YouVersion that you can download. It's really simple. And we're just hoping that the world together prays as we lead up to this thing. And so, yes, pray with us, please, that God will do the impossible. And then you can go to Gather25. And if you sign up, just say, I'm in. We will send you all the links to be a part of this prayer movement and everything that's happening around it.

So as you get ready and as you've pulled together, you talked a little bit earlier about unity. And there have been some things over the last few years that have been some very public things.
conversations from within the church. And I guess that's just part of growth and what happens, but it sounds like you've got all kinds of different people coming together. And as we said, different denominations for this. So there is a message of unity. There are things that people are going to differ on things that aren't at the heart of the absolute, you know, unwavering theology of Christ is son of God and savior. And,
We can quibble about some other things, but it sounds like this is really united around what's most important and putting those other things aside. Yeah. You know, I think people are hungry for this. It's interesting. I think a few years ago, pre-COVID, maybe in the midst of COVID, there was so much division and we were, everybody was struggling and in a really hard place. I think right now there's a lot of hope. And I think we're, we're,
We're in a moment where there's a lot of good work that can be done on earth. And so I'm just hoping we seize the day. I hope there's a moment of just, you know what, let's lay down some of our differences. Certainly some of those differences are very important. And I'm not suggesting otherwise. I'm seminary trained and have a high view of theology and my Bible. So I'm not suggesting that. But I am suggesting that for 25 hours,
We could come together and pray and ask God to move and that that is pleasing to God. I mean, he asked his father for that in, you know, his prayers. He asked for us to be unified, that we would be one as he was one.
And so this is the desire of God. And so, you know, I'm not asking for massive church reform all over the world. And we all, you know, I certainly am not in favor of one church, anything. I believe the diversity of the church is a beautiful thing. And each stream of the church is causing good in different ways. And what I can say is, though, for 25 hours, I think it would be really beautiful and pleasing. You know, I picture the end, the very end of the event, we're going to be singing How Great Their Art. It's a time...
zone that, that most, you know, the most people are awake. And, and so together, our hope is that we're going to just sing for one moment that the whole world would sing one song to God. That is our prayer. And I'm just so excited about what, what could come out of this, of just
the heart of God for 25 hours, His people before Him praying, worshiping together across denominational lines, across ages, across countries and cultures. I mean, there will be people in small little churches in Africa with a radio. There will be people in megachurches in Dallas. There will be people all over the world.
singing and praying and repenting and lifting high the name of Jesus. And I think, gosh, I think it'll be fun for him. I think God will love it. He's going to hear it. Okay. Again, this is February 28th through March 1st, 25 hours of prayer, worship, repentance, and commissioning. Okay. What if people say, and by the way, you can do this in your living room. As Jenny said, you can be part of a large church gathering. There are all different kinds of ways. Gather25, gather25.com to find out more.
But what about people who say like, oh, I'm not into this religion thing or I'm not into this religion. Can they get that? Can they visit? Can they pop in? I mean, who is this for? Yes, it's for everyone. I mean, gosh, certainly we are inviting the church to come together, believing that them unleashed is the greatest way to reach the world.
But we fully expect so many eyeballs and so many people leaning in and going, what is this? And what I hope someone that maybe if they've been hurt by the church or maybe they feel discouraged about, you know, is God real? Does he have a plan for me? I think what they're going to see is something that is so attractive and beautiful. And they're going to lean in and they're going to go, man, if that's what the church is, I'm interested. Because...
You know, there's so much good work the church is doing. There's so many beautiful testimonies that you can't explain by man. I mean, it's just, you know, I think about my friend Miles who was traveling in a country in Asia and it was dangerous. But this man walks up to him and puts a Bible in the language of the very village he is headed to in his hands. And...
And he doesn't know this man. He's on a train in the middle of nowhere. And then he lands where he's going. And these two girls come and find him and say, last night we dreamed about a man in white named Jesus. Can you tell us who Jesus is? And they speak the language of the Bible that this stranger handed him in a train. When an unbeliever hears that, when any of us hear that, it's
It's hard to not believe there is a God that is orchestrating all of these things and that he loves us and he will come for us like he is after us. He's chasing us.
And when you watch those kind of stories play out, which we'll do in those hours, I think so many people that's hearts have been cold or hard from life and for good reason. I think God is just going to warm their hearts and go, maybe he has a plan for me. Maybe he's coming for me too, because he is.
And that's what I hope the takeaway is from this, is that God so loved the world. He so loves the world. He so loves you and me and every single person listening.
And he's coming for us. And this is that love letter. This is that song, you know, that reminds us he hasn't forgotten the least of these. He hasn't forgotten any of us. And yeah, that's my joy. That's my hope. And I think it's just, I picture so many people walking out with the biggest smiles on their faces.
Because what has felt hard and dark and broken and impossible is all of a sudden going to feel very hopeful and possible.
Well, you've had big hopes and big beliefs about this, and now it is coming together with the work of so many people. Gather 25. Again, the website, gather25.com. They're on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. There are all kinds of ways to get involved. Starts February 28th. The worship album is out the week before. Jenny Allen, thank you always for your time and your work to try to spread God's love and His goodness and His truth.
