McElroy and Kubelik in the morning starts now. All right, welcome back in. McElroy and Kubelik in the morning. Get back to our position groups here shortly. Major League Baseball last night. Brewers take out the Dodgers 5-4. Dodgers now 71-50. Brewers 68-52. Reds take out the Cardinals 9-2. Both of those teams are 60-61. Braves smashed the Giants last night.

13-2. Braves now 64-56. Giants 61-62. Olsen, Riley, Murphy, Harris all homer for the Braves last night. And Aaron Judge goes two for four with the home run. His 43rd of the season. His 300th of his career, GMAC. He is the fastest of 300 home runs in the history of Major League Baseball. No one's done it faster than Aaron Judge. Short porch.

That's definitely it. Yep. Yep. As long as you know that. 955 games. Ralph Kiner took 1,087. Ryan Howard, 1,093. Juan Gonzalez, 1,096. Juan Gonzalez, man. People forget how good he was early on. Golly, he was good.

I think he was just sweating HGH, but also, I mean, but just, yeah, he could rake. He had a great swing though. I mean, he was like one of those guys with a great swing that could still bomb it. Even if he never did the, uh, like underrated event, go, go. If you can go find it, the home run Derby at Camden yards, Griffey allegedly hitting it off the wall, allegedly hit the building. I don't, you can't see it. I don't know.

But go watch Juan Gonzalez in that home run derby. He's hitting the third deck multiple times out in left field. He has won over like the batter's eye wall in center field. I mean, just bombs that he was hitting. So judge needed just 955 games to get his 300th home run. Seventh player to hit 300 home runs for the Yankees in franchise history. I think you can name any of those.

Seventh player to hit 300 home runs for the Yankees in franchise history. I'm trying to think. Do you want me to go now? That would be one. Yeah. All right. So, Ruth, Mantle. Yep. Maris. No. Did not hit 300 bombs. For the Yankees. Oh, for the Yankees. What a joke. Jeter. Nobody cares. No. Canseco. He may have hit three. A-Rod didn't get 300 with the Yankees. He did. He did. All right. So, A-Rod. I don't count him, but yeah.

DiMaggio? Yes. All right. Posada? No. George? Hideki Matsui. Lou? Lou Gehrig? Yes. Okay. Yogi? Barra? There. That's it. That's only six. Oh, yeah. Well, judge is seven. Dumb. Stupid dumb. On pace for 57 home runs this season, by the way, would be his third 50 home run season with Ty A-Rod for the fourth most in Major League Baseball history.

Do you know who has the most 50 home run seasons in MLB history? Bonds? No. Sosa. Correct. Tied with? Griffey. McGuire? That's one. You already named one of the others, John. Ruth? Yes. All tied with four. Really surprising that Bonds is not there. Really surprising. Yeah. All right. Almost like he peaked a couple years for whatever reason. Boy, when he peaked. It's pretty normal to go from 45 to 73. Yeah.

I do that in the car every day. A couple extra CCs. Get right there. Extra cycle. Cycle up. He joins us each and every week. Thanks to our friends at Coke and Piggly Wiggly. It's the coach, Wim Sanderson. What's on your mind today, coach? Why do you cut me out of the baseball talk and take three minutes off my time?

Ralph Kiner was one of the greatest hitters in my time. You don't even know who Ralph Kiner was. Yeah, but you were going to say the greatest, Coach, and I can't let you say it. I know more about baseball than you guys ever thought about knowing. That's not necessarily true. Oh, yeah, that's true. I guarantee you that's true. I'm not debating that you know more than me, but know more than I've ever thought about. That's false. Well, congratulations. You thought about something. All right.

If I'm coaching football, I want both you guys to correct me. Aaron Judge, top five home run hitter of all time, yes or no? Top five home run. Top five power hitter ever, yes or no? No. Where does Bonds rank in your power hitting rankings of all time? I don't have any idea. I don't rank them.

I don't know. He's good. I don't have any idea where he ranks. I don't know. You get one at-bat to win the World Series. Ralph Kiner, Barry Bonds in his prime. The biggest screwing in the history of baseball was when, what's his name, had a chance to pitch a perfect game in the World Series, and the umpire missed the call on first base.

The worst in it. We don't need to talk about baseball, about home runs. This wasn't that long ago, like 10 years ago? Longer than that. Come on, you guys. Armando Galarraga. Y'all were sucking your thumb. Y'all were sucking a bottle back then. Tigers. Y'all were sucking a bottle back then. Y'all were kids. But he missed the cotton-picking call to make it a perfect game. Sandy Koufax or Bob Gibson? Who are you taking?

Probably Sandy Koufix. Probably Sandy Koufix. Let me ask you two guys something. Y'all are so smart. Tell me, after you have known pretty much right now who your ones are in football, with the injuries that you have, would you not be smart

And he'd tell me, correct me, would you not be smart to your next two scrimmages to go with twos and threes? Because you know who the ones are. You don't have to announce it publicly. You don't have to announce it to anybody. You don't have to say it to anybody. But to keep Texas lost two running backs, they almost lost a running back. I know where you're going, Coach, but here's the thing. You can't just park them. You can limit them, but you can't just park them. That would be like me saying –

Okay, Roy Rogers was your starting center two weeks away from the season beginning. Are you not going to make him condition for two weeks because you don't want him to pull a hamstring? No, he's got to be ready for the year still. So, like, he's still going to go get his post-up drills in. He's still going to condition, even though he might have, like, a toenail injury. Well, I should have referred this to scrimmage. I'm sorry. Okay.

I should have referred this to the scrimmages. The twos and threes go against each other. Now, I know that Greg's not going to like it because you're quarterback, but I'm just saying in Alabama's case, the quarterback's a quarterback. Maybe Auburn's still looking a little bit. Maybe they're probably not. But I don't know about the quarterback situation. Greg can answer that. Yeah, from an Auburn perspective, Coach, I would tell you, I'm not sure outside of running back, I don't know if they're good enough many places to sit guys down.

And that's not that they're not going to be good in certain places, but they still probably need some work and they need work together. At Alabama, I think there are a couple of guys that I could think of. Like Tyler Booker doesn't need a scrimmage again. He's fine. Does Milrow need to go? A new quarterback in a new offense? I would say probably. He's non-contact, so who cares? He can go. He's fine. Like does Deontay Lawson need all the reps? No, probably not. Greg, what do you think? I think that these guys are still young.

I think the likelihood for injury in a scenario like that when guys are really taking care of each other. Like if you if a guy gets if you twist an ankle non-contact, there's things that happen, but it's rare. It's really rare. And there's always awkward stuff that that happens. I mean, think about the thousands of players that are going to fall camp right now and how many injuries we've reported.

I mean, like 30? Yeah, we're a wide receiver at Oklahoma. There's not a lot. Long story short, there's not a lot. So I think that you are much better served setting the tone with your team and saying, look, hey, here's the thing. We are going to scrimmage, and we are going to grind. Like, we're going to have the toughest team on the field, and the only way we're going to be able to do that is if we practice full tilt scrimmage.

as often as we can. And in the modern era, you can go full tilt like twice in fall camp. Well, I would say that, but I'd hold my ones. You'd what? I'd say that, but I'd hold my ones. I'd say that to everybody. Hey, we're trying to get everybody ready to play, so the twos and threes are going to go out hard. I'm not going to call them twos. Coach, the second part of what you said there is most important. We're trying to get our guys ready to play. The contact is already so limited.

that I just don't think you can let a lot of guys that you're banking on just completely skip reps. Maybe you cut it down and you don't get very many, but for guys that are actually going to be thumping, you can't go out there and say, no, you're good. You don't need anything. Yeah.

Well, I agree. I think you might get limited a little bit. I mean, maybe every now and then. But I just think that in the long run, after you've gone scrimmage in the stadium or wherever once and you halfway scrimmaged in practice, that you let the twos and threes do it and you let the ones win.

do some work, but not as much scrimmage work. That's just me. And of course I'd get my fan. I'd be on nine coaching football. So I have more important questions for you. Uh, games on the line. You need to save Mariano Rivera, Dennis Eckersley, or Lee Smith. Who are you taking? Father Rivera.

You need – But he pitched in the 21st century, Coach. Like, he can't be any good. I can't be on your radio show because you and I are so far apart. Y'all don't even know. That's what's so funny. I remember you telling us we asked you about – when was this? It was a couple years ago. And when we asked you – Y'all don't even know who Luke Easter is. Who? I know the Easter Bunny. Yeah.

You goobers don't know who Bob Fella was. Yes, I do. Coach, you need, you got a runner on third with one out, tie game, bottom ninths. You don't really need a home run. You just need, we need to get that run in. Tony Gwynn or Ted Williams? Who are you taking? Well, I'm not going to bunny man. Okay. I'm going to go with Ted. The greatest hitter in the history of baseball is Ted Williams. I saw Ted Williams play several times.

This is the most important question of the day. I saw Warren Spahn. Oh, sure. I saw Warren Spahn. Cy Young. I didn't see Cy Young. I ain't that cotton-picking old. Y'all got me where I'm at.

Good grief. I'm old. All right. Hold on a second. This is the most important question of the day. This is for Greg. What? Max Scherzer or Clayton Kershaw? Coach Kershaw. Not a bad. You got a microphone in the defensive guy's ear, and you got a microphone in the offensive guy's ear. That is the only way that you get to the coach who is changing things.

Uh, I've been trying to get a guy on my, on my show to talk about that. I don't know. You two guys have probably already talked about it, but I don't know if you have or not. Is that going to affect anything at all? Is that going to screw up anything? Is that going to help her to what? I think it's going to be very limited assistance defensively. It'll help some, but just a little bit because you,

Most of the defensive calls coach are reactionary calls. Yeah. So you gotta, you gotta see what's happening and what's changing, then get that in. And then here's the part that I don't think Greg and I initially thought about. And then when we talked to Joey McGuire at our seminar, it kind of, he was mad about it because he said they didn't get it right. And that made us go back and think about it again. You still, whether it's the quarterback or the inside linebacker, they have to get that to everybody else.

And that's where it's still a problem. So, yeah, I think that there's going to be a lot of paralysis by analysis in the early term. It's going to be a process of trial and error. Like if you put too much on these guys plate, you got to let them just play fast, dude. I mean, it's like at some point I don't know.

They don't need to know what you think the safety is doing. You have to trust me enough to know that I've studied all week. I've prepared all week. I don't need to be told what I'm seeing now. Some guys. Yeah, it's going to help them a lot because they can't process. And the other thing that's going to be interesting is it's going to end. It's cutting off at 15 seconds. I know in tempo, tempo town, 15 seconds feels like an eternity, but I don't know. Like, I think it's going to hurt the evaluation of,

of NFL teams, because you talk to anyone that comes from that Baylor system that Art Browse and them created 10 years ago or so, they could tell you where the ball is going. Hey, you're throwing it to the X. You're throwing it to the F. You're throwing it to the H. They'll tell you exactly where to go with the football. So therefore, these guys can't read defenses. They just know where to go with the football. They drop back, they adjust their eyes, and they throw it to the guy that the coach told them to throw it to.

And they wash out of the league. Tell me a guy from the Baylor system that's been any good in the league. Name one. None. And I think there's challenges in that. So it's a little bit of a crutch. Helps you win games in college, but it's not great for development. So it would be interesting to watch, I think, as you progress. Well, Nick Saban's defense was complicated.

He coached the backs, I know, but they called a lot of different stuff and it was pretty complicated. I think this year with a swarm defense, you're going to make a lot of tackles and run the quarterback out of where he wants to do, but I also think that you may give up a lot of long plays. Coach never did. He never did. He looked like he was going to rush the passion, but he didn't. He looked like he was going to blitz, but he didn't.

And I think if you do too much swarming, you throw over the form. And I know nothing. No, but you make great points, Coach. You really do. Juan Gonzalez or Mark McGuire? Who are you taking? Mark McGuire. Better catcher, Pudge Rodriguez or Johnny Bench? Johnny Bench. No, stop. Well, I missed on one that you wanted. That was not it. But, yeah.

Listen, you're not the only one who says it's Ted Williams' greatest hitter ever. But honestly, though, where does Pete Rose fall into that? The hitter? Should he not? I mean, he's got more hits than anybody. No, he ain't hit as Stan Musial. He's not hit as Joe DiMaggio. He's not a hit of... Coach, he was making the lineups and playing. Yeah, I know. I know. Also betting. Betting.

Oh, my goodness. We don't know that. Yes, we do. I just threw in another adjective. I didn't say anything. Yeah, and I feel like it was an accurate one. All right, I'm going to up my baseball questions next week, Coach, but we always appreciate your time. You need to. All right, well, Piggly Wiggly and...

Coca-Cola bring me to these two guys. And we had a good show today. We had some good arguments, and I even had a football question, too. So, Pigley Wig is great. Go in there and get some meats, get the vegetables, get whatever you need. You walk out with a smile. Andy and Stan, they're great friends of mine. They've had Pigley Wig at nine locations in Birmingham,

Can't beat Coca-Cola. I drink it all the time. Appreciate you guys having me on, and I'll talk to you next week and get your baseball questions ready. I'll give you. You don't even know who. I saw the first minority player play in the American League. You two goobers don't even know who. Is that when you took the train? Yeah, Larry Doby. Benito Santiago or Roy Campanella? Better catcher. Well, Roy Campanella was crippled for life after he, probably Roy.

Okay. Benito threw people out from his knees, Coach. I'm just saying. Yeah, yeah. Heard that. I don't know. I'm feeling a lack of respect for the modern-day player. That's all I'm saying. You have a lack of respect? No, I'm feeling a little bit of that from you, a little lack of respect for the modern-day player. You ready for this one? Joe Sewell was the head baseball coach at Alabama. He's the only one. He was playing third base. He never struck out. He has a few strikeouts in the history of playing baseball.

He took his cleat and drew a rivet so that when a ball was hit down his line, he got in that rivet and went foul. That's crafty. Better college baseball player, Dave Magadin or Tim Hudson? Dave Magadin was darn good, boy. Tim Hudson strike you out, too, and play some center field. Yeah, I'd say either one of them. I don't know. Okay.

Shohei Ohtani or Babe Ruth? Who are you taking? Batting cleanup. Babe Ruth. 68-ounce bat, Coach. I don't know. 68? Coach, thank you very much. We'll catch up next week. Thank you very much. Y'all try to study it. We're going to work on it. We're going to go study. You got some problems. Bye. We got a lot of problems. Our baseball knowledge is the least of my concerns.

We didn't even ask him about the jello. Yeah, the segment from 8 to 8.30 was most of my concern. Baseball talk, very little worries there. Rodney Nibulski covers the Georgia Bulldogs. Joining us on that Buyer's Right Hotline now. Injury news coming out of Georgia. Jordan Hall, stress fracture again. Rodney, what does this do to Kirby Smart's football team?

Well, it's not a good thing because Kirby's, I guess the Achilles heel of this Georgia team would be its defensive front. They don't have a Jordan Davis or a Devontae Wyatt. You know, you don't have a Jalen Carter. So, you know, where's your, and again, that's not saying that they're weak. There's just, they're stronger everywhere else.

So having Jordan Hall, a guy you plan to lean on a little bit this year, having him out is tough. You also have Warren Brinson, who's dealing with an Achilles injury. Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, who actually had a good scrimmage the other day, which is good news. He's been banged up. Mazier Stackhouse is probably the only guy you have out there playing a lot of reps who's

played before. So I don't say play before. It's just, there's not a lot of experience on Georgia's defensive front. Kirby smart said, look, we got, there's a lot of teams out there that don't have one 300 pound defensive lineman. We got tons of them, but we

We don't have a lot of them with experience who are healthy. So it's not good for Georgia because that is a weakness and losing a guy that you had planned to use a lot in Jordan Hall. Again, think about it. The guy has a tibia stress fracture, one leg gets a pin stuck in it, you know, a bolt or whatever. Then it happens on the other leg. You just got to feel bad for somebody like that. It's just not fair, man. Yeah.

It's terrible. It really is. I feel really, really bad for him, genuinely. I mean, it's just the worst. No doubt. It's a real thing. I mean, when a guy just runs into just a series of bad luck from an injury standpoint, there's nothing worse. It's just awful. You hate it, and you feel like, why me? And all this other stuff. I mean, remember that as a player is rough. Looking at how things are kind of setting up for them, it sounds like the offense has struggled in camp. I don't know...

you know, is it coach speak? Is it not? But I've heard from external sources that it sounds like the offense is not where they expected it to be at this point. What have you heard about that group collectively?

Well, I've heard the same thing. Kirby Smart started off this press conference earlier this week, basically, I don't want to say dog cussing his team, but he was not happy with it. He said that they're nowhere near it. He even came down on college football in general, talking about the deterioration of the game. He says they have less depth than he's ever had since they've been here. And I'm like,

I'm like, Kirby, I remember 2016. Don't give me that. And we had Coach Donovan on our show the other day, and he said – I asked him point blank, is that Coach speak? And he made the quip that Kirby Smart was going through his desk drawer and found an old letter, you know, from Vince Dooley, and he kind of brushed that off. And basically it was, you know, poo-pooing his team, saying that they're not ready.

What I've heard and what I've seen from the offense is they don't have as many explosive plays as they would like.

But the sheer number of playmakers they have is ridiculous. And that's saying a lot after they lost some guys to the NFL. But you get three really good starting wide receivers. That running back room is insane with Trevor Etienne, Cash Jones, Roderick Robinson. He learned to catch. He's a danger out in the backfield. And Branson Robinson is fully healthy. So you got four or five really talented backs plus three freshmen. Learn the name Nate Frazier.

That guy is going to be a problem for somebody. Number three, so if you've got that old Todd Gurley jersey and you're a Georgia fan, you want to keep that handy because you're going to need it soon. You don't have a Ladd McConkie. You don't have Brock Bowers. I think the only place they're really going to suffer is in that tight end room because Brock Bowers saved your bacon so many times. Now you have Oscar Delp.

and you have Ben Urasek, the tight end from Stanford, who I'm hearing rave reviews about. So they're good in their 12 personnel, with him and Lawson lucky, but you don't have your starting center right now. Jared Wilson has been beat up. So you moved an all-SEC first-teamer, Tate Radlish, to center.

which puts gives you three a great interior line so their offensive line should be fantastic although your center will be inexperienced and you know and not to say pay rather can't do it but uh cole i defer to you it's it's not easy just going over there learning to be a center you know in a couple weeks so i think once they can get their center issues worked out

what they can do with their running backs, what they can do with their wide receivers, what they can do with their tight ends. This should be – and you've got the Heisman leading candidate in Carson Beck under center. So I think the hair pulling and the what was me attitude about the offense is a bit over the top right now. I think it's – I think people are making too much out of it. Hold on, Rodney. Take us a little bit further on the center issues, exactly what the problem is.

Well, Jared Wilson is maybe pound for pound the fastest athlete on the team. I'm just saying that this guy runs unlike anybody we've ever covered. I've been doing this 30-something years. The guy is light on his feet. He's a ridiculous athlete, but he's got a foot issue and his tender. So he's not – he's the guy you penciled in to take over for Cedric Van Praan, a three-year starter off to the NFL.

Jared Wilson's been there a few years. He's supposed to be the center, but he's banged up. We saw him a little bit last year. I think he can play based on what I saw. I talked to scouts and they're like, this kid can move. We love it. How often are you seeing that center pull? This guy will pull. No questions about it. He can jump across, get across the guy's face quickly. But now you've had to take Tate Rattledge and move him to center. The great thing is Georgia has...

three ridiculously talented guards for two spots. So you had Micah Morris, who's just an absolute people-moving machine, and Dylan Fairchild, state championship wrestler, can start anywhere in the country. And you had those two guys kind of switching reps at left guard. So now one of them moves to right guard, Tate Rattledge moves to center, and you've got a really good offensive line. You have your five best players on the field.

But do you really want to do that? I mean, it's, do you want to give up having Tate on that right side? Again, he's first team all SEC. He's a high draft pick. Now you're moving to the center. So it's a good problem to have, you know, that he's getting the experience in case something happens.

but you're really not working with the ideal five guys that you want. For a guy who would be his first year starting for Jared Wilson, this is week three, and he's not been healthy enough to go with the ones. So it's not a great situation, but they are building depth at the center spot. What is the biggest concern defensively outside of the defensive line? I know they feel great about what they have at home,

in the back end, I think they feel good about the progress made by the second year players at linebacker. Like, is there anything else that anyone's raising concerns about?

Where's Georgia's head rusher? Where's the sack guy? You know, where's the Aziz Ojolari, the Adam Anderson, you know, the Leonard Floyd? Where's the guy that just comes off the edge, gets you a sack all the time? Their leading sack guy last year had five. And Jalen Walker, he's not a starter. He was just a guy that mainly came in on third down, Jaguar package, and just painted his ears back and got to the quarterback. Now, he's a guy that's going to be a big hitter.

He's also an inside linebacker as well, so they have him working inside and outside. And they're going to stand Mikel Williams up more and let him play outside. Is that because Mikel wants that? Why are they doing that? Mikel absolutely wants that. I know, but is that in their best interest?

It is in their best interest because if you saw what he – I hate to use the FSU game because we all know that that was not the best. But he had numerous big plays in that game. He has that speed off the edge. He can do both. It's just they didn't have a great defensive front last year.

So you needed him with his hand down. You needed him, you know, more inside than outside. So letting him stand up and play more in that outside spot will be good for them. But now you're going to see Damon Wilson come on. He was a true freshman last year. Sam Impimba, same thing.

Gabe Harris, same thing. You had three, two of these guys are five-star outside linebackers, edge guys. One's a high four-star, but they were all true freshmen last year. They're coming on this year. Chaz Chambliss is a senior, but he's been banged up a little bit. But again, we could talk about the potential all these guys have, but who's done it? Who's actually been, you know, you're worried for your left tackle. You're worried that your right tackle, you know, you got to keep a running back in, right?

to help chip this guy or you need to put a tight end over the top of him, you know, just kind of help out the edge guys. Right. They just don't really have – they have the potential for it. We just haven't seen it. Roddy, we love when you come on, man, because you always educate us. It's great stuff getting us up to date on Georgia camp. Look forward to doing it again soon.

I'll be happy to do it. You guys take care. There you go. Rodney Nabilsey covers the Georgia Bulldogs. One of the best to do it. He joins us on the Buyer's Right Hotline for all your insurance, financial and HR needs. It's Buyer's Right Insurance, a Higginbotham partner. OK, so moving on from Georgia, there is a portion of the calendar that needs to be discussed in an article that recently came out stressing a certain weekend in which certain things should happen.

Not sure anyone is or should be. Not sure anybody could be, should be. Are you strongly against? I mean, you and I kind of can't really attend a fall wedding. I'm a little against. I don't know if I'm strongly against. If the reasoning for a fall wedding is pictures, you're on the list. Let's put it out there. Hold on. Rewind that one. Yes. Like what? You want like the foliage? No.

I thought the fall engagement photos at the barns and on the train tracks were only for, like, engagements and birthdays and graduations. I didn't know it was for the actual wedding. Yeah. We need that for weddings? I believe so, yeah. I don't know if you need it, but it's happening. Well, you don't need any of the stupid pictures. No, but it's happening. I mean.

According to The Knot, you guys familiar with this publication? Absolutely. Really? I've had friends that have gotten married. Do you frequent that? I've had to. I've had friends that got married, and it's a great place that has all of the registry. Yes. I did know that. I guess you can put all your plans and have a diary. I do like that. I'm like, all right, cool. You like the diaries. You like the...

I haven't seen that tape. It's your own personal reality show and other people's weddings. Got that. That's what society needs. They have labeled October 12th as one of the five days

Most popular wedding dates of 2024. Now, I don't know if this is them saying that they have been told or made aware of or scheduled on their website that many people on October the 12th. Right. Or if maybe the Farmers' Almanac says that's going to be that good of a day. I don't know what exactly. Maybe they check all the diaries. That too. I don't know how it works.

Let me just give you a small sampling of October the 12th from a college football perspective. Would an appetizer at Mississippi State at Georgia be nice? How about a little bit of Ole Miss at LSU? I like that. Maybe just sprinkling some Penn State at USC if that tickles your fancy. That's a helmet game. How about a rivalry Florida at Tennessee game? Yeah. Seems kind of fun. Washington at Iowa. How are they going to handle that new thing that they got going on?

That would be just another one that you could throw in there. Georgia Tech at North Carolina would be maybe a little side dish that you would have. You would also have a little thing we call the Red River Shootout. What is that? Rivalry games on that day. Oh, by the way. Now, there was a time when Stanford at Notre Dame meant something, but I don't think any of us feel like that's going to be competitive for quite some time. So we can just move on from that one. Allegedly. Best game ever. South Carolina at Alabama. Oh, by the way. Put that one in there.

What about maybe a little bit of Ohio State at Oregon? That's a good one. Oh, okay. On October the 2nd. All these games the same day, by the way.

In which the not.com will tell you, which by the way should be the NOT after this. It's probably going to be. This is top five most popular wedding day of the year in 2024. And I just gave you a small sampling of what you're going to get on that day. You would be at Army. You're suggesting you have a problem with it is what you're telling me. I'm just saying, are you anticipating people showing up? I think if you're going to get married, you would like that to be the case. Yeah.

But you run the risk if you decide to get married that time of year. I had a producer in Huntsville. I worked with every day. We talked to college football every day. Got married in October. Why? Great question. Couldn't find another. Fair question. Couldn't find another day. My brother did last year and had to do some soul searching to figure out how much I had to be there. I knew I had to be there Saturday. And I was like, all right, I can do that. But how much of the rest can I miss? And it was...

Brother won out, but barely. Only really because of mom guilt trip. I believe my response when I was made aware of that was, well, you can save your money on the invitation. Just don't even print one. I know you would invite me, but we don't even need to – just stop the semantics and just I'll get you a gift and that will be that. Have fun. Let me know how it goes.

Just holla at me. I'll probably be in Lexington. Hey, San Antonio again. Oh, okay. Perfect. Or there. One of the two. The problem is you do go year-round with football. So you literally have... Kit, when she gets married, will have three weekends she can pick from. The week after the Super Bowl. June 17th. The week before school starts. Yeah.

June 10th, June 17th, and July 21st. That's it. But July 21st might interfere with media days, so it's a 50-50 chance that Dad's not there. That's possible. He'll be flying in from Dallas. Correct. It depends on where media days is. I'll be in Bahamas at that point. Maybe we get it back at the Winfrey for like a turn back the clock day. That's right.

Have that going on. Arizona at BYU, Kansas State at Colorado. Just a couple others on this day. Vanderbilt at Kentucky. Minnesota at UCLA. Just saying, like, this is just part of your menu. I don't know what the menu is going to be on for all these people getting married that day, but you'll probably have a lot of leftovers. And the night before when you should be getting ready, maybe get some sleep or stuff, Utah at Arizona State at 930.

Well, you can probably get to that one after the festivities if you need that. Where are we on, if you do do this, having games on during the reception? That's your choice. You're the one that got married there. Should you, though? I think it's rude, but necessary depending on the day. I think it's rude not to. But I understand where you're going, Greg, because if it's—

If you get, say, Alabama-Tennessee or Alabama-Georgia, a game like that, you're taking all the focus off the bride. She's not going to be getting a lot of attention then. Correct. Everybody's staring at it, which you don't have to put it on because they're going to be looking at their phones anyway. Yeah. It's almost you would rather at least that way maybe put it on the screen behind you. That way they're looking at the bride, just looking past her to the game. That's it. Past her. All right. So –

I mean, listen, I'm not mad at folks that do it. No. That's your business. You can't be mad at people for doing it. But you just can't anticipate that a lot of people are going to be there. Well, you're just going to have people that aren't all in. It's not that people won't go. It's just people won't be all in. Don't you want people to be all in for you on your wedding day?

I would hope so. I would hope so, right? I want all the singular attention on my bride or on the couple. Singular attention should be there. You'd choose to get married in the fall. I'm sure the pictures will be beautiful with changing leaves in the background. It's awesome. I'm sure it'll be nice to be able to be outside and take outdoor pictures without sweating. That's probably a really nice luxury. But...

people are not going to be yelling. People are going to be on their phones a lot. People are going to be checking the score. People are going to be actively trying to watch games. So it's your choice. To me, I get it if you're saying, okay, here in Alabama, if Alabama was playing tennis on that third Saturday and you get married that weekend, okay, yeah, a lot of people want to watch that. But if I'm the bride on that weekend and you're getting married here in Birmingham –

while a good number of college football fans will get it, I could see why she'd be like, it's Ohio State and Oregon. Like, they're nowhere near us. Why do you care? Like, I could see them saying that. But then you turn around and be like, well, it's college football. Sorry. And that trumps and wins. But I see why they're like, well, hey, Alabama and Auburn aren't playing or they're playing Mercer in the tricky offense. Hey, we're good with that. Okay, cool. Nothing alone is around, baby.

So maybe you would say, okay, push your game to September 21st. Yeah. Get it over with. Maybe. Because that is the day that not.com says is the most popular wedding day of the year. Oh, you move it up some. Okay. Okay.

You only have Utah at Oklahoma State, UCLA at LSU, NC State at Clemson, Tennessee at Oklahoma. I mean, just to kind of get things going. That's it. Florida at Mississippi State, a little bit of USC at Michigan. That's all. That's all. A couple that you might miss. Not a lot. So just, you know, a couple out there that you may have to miss or skip. Once again, if that's for you, have at it. That's it. Just –

Be careful what your expectations are. That would be my opinion. I mean, Vandy at Missouri that day, that's cool. Never know. Never know. But also know that, okay, you're choosing that week. Okay, that's probably Bama's off week. It ain't always going to be their off week. Right. So, you're going to go to nine conference games. Hey, we're going out of town this weekend. Ooh, sorry, babe. The team needs me.

Yes, they do. I just think it's dangerous. It's very dangerous. Damien, who should folks call if they have some questions about real estate in Birmingham? Yeah, you thought we were only going to give you one. You were wrong. Oh, I was so wrong.

Ryan Fire just snuck past the Hamburg Sea Devils. Your score at the end of one was 6-2. Your score at the end of four was 51-2. What? Somehow that happened. Hamburg was out gained 355-150 in total yards. 187-58 in passing yards.

I guess they had the run game going a little bit. 168-92 on the ground. Okay. But I just feel like a two in the final score department is actually difficult to even manage. But then I'll keep you in the Elf League. The Cologne... Cardinals. The Polo. That's a good guess. Centurions. Oh. They just went down to the Paris...

Panthers. Francis. No, they're the Snoops. Musketeers feeling themselves coming off the Olympics, 57-7. They knock off Cologne. Through the air, Paris had a slight edge in yardage of 435-98. Paris also outgained Cologne on the ground, 217-155. For a total yardage differential of 652-253.

Average yards per play differential, 10.9 to 4.1. 10.9 per play, not per rush or per pass. Every single play in the game averaged 11 yards per. It's a first down every time you snap it. Probably why they were 50% on third downs. There we go. Time of possession, 41-08 to...

1852. That's a double up in T.O.P. You don't see that very often. Not often. And I want to forewarn everyone. Oh, boy. Stop the music right now. Oh, no. Get ready for Monday because tomorrow night, tomorrow night, the number nine in the state, number nine Palmer. Dales. No. Panthers. No. This is Alaska, Greg. Eskimos. Moose. Meese.

They're on frozen time. Moose time, yeah.

Here we go. Here we go. So Donna is back tomorrow night. So Monday, that means they're going to be in the bad box for the day. I think they smoked Palmer twice last year, by the way. All right. Appreciate riding the bull seat. Wimps, Anderson, all you guys being a part of the show.
