Your gift will make room for you. Stop trying to be something you ain't gifted at.
All of you have this gift. Identify it. It's the thing that you do the absolute best with the least amount of effort. That's what you should be doing. You're wasting your time pursuing your passion. The Bible does not mention passion. It mentions your gift. What are you gifted at in do that? Stop tripping. You can do that. You have to jump. There is no way around it. You have to jump. You got to take a leap of faith.
You got to dash off that cliff and you got to jump out there as far as you can. Life is really 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do about it. Don't give up when reaching your dream is difficult. Listen, if success were easy, you've heard it a million times. Everybody would be successful. It requires a grit and a toughness to be successful.
When do we die? When we stop developing ourselves, expanding our minds, challenging ourselves, raising the bar on ourselves.
One great American said, "I choose not to be a common man. It's my right to be uncommon if I can. I seek opportunity, not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I want to take the calculated risk to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed. I refuse to live from hand to mouth. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence, the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia. I will never cower before the master nor bend to any threat. It's my heritage.
to stand erect, proud and unafraid, to face the world boldly and say, "This I have done." That's what it means to be a part of peak potentials. Your unquenching desire, an uncommon desire to manifest your greatness. There is another level. The only reason you keep saying there isn't is you feel so exhausted about where you are. But life, the universe of God, is just testing you because there is another level. If this is good, giant jump to excellence, giant jump from poor to good to excellence.
There's a level where all your dreams are realized. There's a level that you've always dreamed about. It is real. It has not gone away. But it takes that extra burst when you think there's nothing left. There's no way. You've tried everything 10 million times and you keep going. It's almost like God is saying, if you keep hitting this wall enough times, I will see that you will not stop. That you will fill that level of determination and faith and courage and then the door opens and you get to that next level. But what most people don't know is...
The next level is just two millimeters above and it's called outstanding, ladies and gentlemen, outstanding. Only those that can see the invisible can do the impossible. You have to be able to see what doesn't exist in order to be able to pull off or achieve what in most people's minds seems to be impossible.
Only those that can see the invisible can do what seems to be impossible. What I want to share with you is how to begin to get a larger vision of yourself and how to begin to make this your decade. Because in order to do that, it's going to be very challenging. It's going to require a lot of work on your part, an ongoing process of personal and professional self-mastery.
And it's going to require that you begin to see yourself worthy of the requirements in terms of effort, in terms of commitment, in terms of action, in terms of preparation or whatever it is that you need to do in order to take your life where you want to take it. So one of the first things I ask you to do is I want you to look at your life right now and think about something that's important to you, something that gives your life a sense of value.
Think about something that you'd like to have or something you'd like to create for you or your family or for society. I want you to hold this thought in mind. Now, one of the first things I want you to do is don't worry about the inner conversation that you're going to have. Don't worry about how you're going to do it. That's going to come. You're going to develop a plan of action. You will find the way. You'll become the kind of person that can attract the people, the resources and everything you need in order to make that become reality. But I want you to be mindful of your inner conversation.
That inner conversation, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason that most people take their greatness, take their ideas to the graveyard with them. You know, the wealthiest place on the planet, a minister said recently, and it was so true, is not the gold mines in the various areas of the world or the diamond mines. The wealthiest place on the planet is the graveyard.
Because in the graveyard we will find inventions that we never ever were exposed to. Ideas, dreams that never became reality. Hopes and aspirations that were never acted upon.
Because most people allow that inner conversation for whatever reason to keep them from ever pursuing their goals So let us begin to look at what's required in order to to make this our decade Why is it that most people don't ever reach their goals or live up to their true potential? One is fear and there are only two kinds of fears that we're born with the fear falling and the fear of a loud sound
All other fears we learn, like the fear of failure. The next is the fear of success. That's one of the major challenges I had to deal with. I was working on a major project and after it began to grow and it was extremely successful, I panicked and I walked away from it and gave it to someone else because I didn't believe that I could handle it. The other thing that keeps most people from reaching their goals is that a lot of people become comfortable
They stop growing, they stop wanting anything, they become satisfied.
They stop looking at ways in which they can improve themselves. They stop putting things in front of them. I was reading something by a great man, George Bernard Shaw, and he said something to the effect that to have succeeded is to have finished one's business on earth. Like the male spider was killed by the female spider the moment he has succeeded in his courtship. And he goes on to say, I like a state of continual becoming with a goal in front
and not behind the other thing that keeps us from reaching our goal is not feeling worthy as well a lot of people get stuck because see when you don't feel worthy of your goal you'll begin to unconsciously engage in self-destructive behavior like procrastinating constantly putting things off squandering your time and that's what life is made up something else that keeps us from reaching our goal
And that is many times because we spend so much time complaining and blaming everybody or everything. They might moan and groan about their job. I'm sick of this job. I'm sick of you. And they just moan and groan and complain all the time and never do anything about it. They haven't got to the point where they're sick and tired of being sick and tired.
They just have enough energy to complain about it and they consider that in fact they believe that that's equivalent to doing something about it just Complaining no, I can't get you where you want to go you that cannot create your reality for you the other thing that keep most people from realizing their true greatness and their true potential circumstances their environment
There are many people who believe because of where they're born, because of the area where they are in life and where they find themselves. That's all they know. Given my circumstances, ladies and gentlemen, I shouldn't be doing what I'm doing right now. See, I know something about you.
Even not knowing you that you've got greatness within you You have the ability to do things that you can't even begin to imagine you have talents and skills in you That you haven't even began to reach for yet So some of you are going to experience a breakthrough Some of you are going to go back and look at your dreams and brush them off Some of you are going to begin to look at yourself and say hey look here
I know I have not done all that I can do. Whatever goal that you have in mind, I want that to be a goal that will challenge you, something that will make you stretch. It was Osborne who said, "Unless you attempt to do something beyond that which you've already mastered, you will never grow."
What is it that you looked at at some point in time and you decided that you couldn't do it? That you talk yourself out of it. Whatever it is, bring it back out there. How are you going to do it? That will come to you in due time. So you don't get in life what you want, ladies and gentlemen. You get in life what you are, not what you want.
See, the good news is that we can always become more by working to develop ourselves. So the first process of making this your decade, you've got to begin to take a look at your life and look at where are you right now? What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What gives your life a sense of fulfillment, a sense of joy? What does a full, rich life means to you? What is it that you could love doing seven days a week that'll bring a smile to your face? Think about that.
and all the areas of your life your professional life your personal life your family life your spiritual life what is it that you like to have once you begin to determine that that takes you to the next step and that is once you decide what it is that you want now you've got to decide that you deserve that repeat after me please I deserve the best that life has to offer I deserve to find
My purpose in life. Think of a place where you have suffered. Frustration, over-arm, anger, sadness, feeling not enough, something. And what if there was a quick way to end it? Here's how that could be done in a matter of moments. First, you only suffer because of what you focus on. You're focusing on one of three things. Three words you want to remember going forward. Loss, less, or never.
If you're suffering, it's because your brain believes because you did something to me or the government did or the company did or the other employee did or I did something or because you didn't do something or I didn't do something, I have lost something. Lost love, lost time, lost energy, lost respect, lost significance, lost anything. The illusion of loss makes us suffer. All you've lost was your expectations weren't met.
Because there's no guarantee in life. Could we walk across the street and get by a car? Of course we can. That's loss. Everything else is an illusion. It just means your preferences weren't met. The second thing that will make you suffer is if you think something you did or didn't do or something someone else did or didn't do caused you to have less of something you value. Less love, less joy, less time, less energy, less acknowledgement. If you feel like you have less, you will suffer.
And the third one and the worst one is if your brain starts believing that you failed to do something, I failed to do something or you did something or I did something that means I will never have that love, have that joy, have that success, have that acknowledgement, have that freedom. When our brain believes we've lost or we have less or we'll never, we suffer. And all those are illusion. The way you get out of it is really simple. You're never going to go from suffering to joy. It's too big a jump. So you go from suffering to appreciating something.
How many of you, no matter how bad your life is, there's something you can appreciate? Your health, your children, your life, the country you live in. How many got something you can appreciate? Say, I. Is there something you can appreciate in every moment, even in the worst moment you've been in? Yes or no? Yes or no? And if you're so smart, which I know you are, you should be easily find those things. All it is is you decide, I'm not going to suffer. So when I feel it, within 90 seconds, I figure out what it is. I don't live there. I find something to appreciate. I find something next to enjoy.
Second step, once you appreciate and enjoy, I want to learn from this. What can I learn? What can I grow? If in the middle of that problem, you learn from that relationship, then it's not about ending a relationship anymore. If you grow from it, you're going to feel alive. And thirdly, third step, after I appreciate, enjoy, learn, and grow, throw it up. If you do anything loving, if you give anything, if you're grateful, your suffering will end. Are there people that have been concentration camps that were able to end suffering even though there was physical pain? Yes or no?
What I learned through all this pain in my body was there's pain and there's suffering. Want to know the difference? Pain is that shock feeling or pressure and tension running up my spine. Suffering is why did this happen to me? Will I ever be able to do this again? Can I ever get back on stage? How long will this last? The story is the suffering.
It's easy to deal with pain. It's the suffering that makes it so hard. Raise your hand if you follow what I'm talking about here. Say "I". So I'm going to give you one technique right now. We'll do it really fast so you know it works. Shake your body up. In fact, right now, develop a quick pattern. I want you to make a move that if you made that move, you feel strong instantly. Just try something. Make a strong move of some sort. Make a move. Make a move. Make a move. Make a sound when you do. Shout the word "yes" when you make a move. Make a move.
Say yes! Say yes! Say yes! Now here's what you do. How many of you have a situation, either at home or in your work environment, where there's some unfinished business? Where there's a situation with a person or a situation that you need to handle and it's stressful inside when you think about it so you try not to think about it and do other stuff. But it's got to be handled and you've not handled it. How many got an area where there's some suffering like that? Raise your hand nice and high. Let me see.
Virtually everybody, good. Think of that situation that really bugs you and really think about how it really feels if you really let yourself focus on it and feel what that suffering would be like. And I want you to pick something that on a scale from zero to ten, where ten is total suffer and zero is no suffering at all, that's in the eight or above range at least. Seven, eight, nine, ten. Don't pick a little one because you won't notice in this quick moment enough for you to feel. I want you to feel a difference.
How many got something that needs to be handled, you've not resolved it, you're either pissed off or you feel hurt or you feel worried or you're concerned and you've not handled it and you put it off and it needs to be handled? Raise your hand if you got it. And the pain of it is, if you focus on it, is seven, eight, nine, or ten. Let me see your hands. Awesome. Here's what I want to show you. A group of scientists discovered something about 20 years ago that's amazing.
If I measure your brain waves and your heart waves, your EEG and your EKG, you've probably seen them on, you know, on medical pieces. They look very jagged when you're stressed. They don't look anything alike. Your brain waves and your heart waves. But if all you do is put both your hands on your heart, try it now, and you physically feel your heart. See the example I'm giving you? So this is frustration. You can see they look nothing like each other.
