Welcome to Carefully Reckless, a production of iHeartRadio and The Black Effect. And just like that, we back on the air. Welcome back to yet another Carefully Reckless episode with your girl Jess Hilarious. So look y'all, false alarm. You ever heard of false labor? I basically got played with by my child. Like I'm being pranked by my unborn child because...

It's like she want to come, but she like, psych, you know what I'm saying? Like playing big games with my cervix, playing big games with my uterus, playing big games with my bladder. I feel like some days she feel like she about to just fall out of that motherfucker. And then other days,

I feel like she then like shimmied her way back up a little bit. Because some days I'm low. Some days I'm high. Y'all, this is a lot, y'all. And I know that y'all know this. And I'm recording this shit on a Monday. But it came out today. So this is just two days ago. Now, I guarantee you, I'm going to probably still be pregnant Wednesday. I just stopped like playing with her at this point. Now, I posted it.

Some things like, yo, what do you do? I did ask people like, what do you do to like make the baby come? Now, the reason why I did this, I went in for an appointment two weeks ago. My doctor was like, oh, she's extremely low. Like, I'd be surprised if you make it to next week's appointment.

Then I was only 38 weeks. That's considered to be full term though. So we're past the preemie stage and everything. So I was excited like, oh shit, I'm about to have her. You know, as nervous as I am later for that nervous shit. Like this shit is not, pregnancy is not fun anymore. It's exhausting. It's very uncomfortable. And you're like on a home stretch and your last weeks, your last days is like, whoo, you just want the baby out. While I'm not rushing her, I was told, you know,

She might be coming like, you know, and it's looking very promising. So I was just like, OK, so what are some things I've talked to doulas? I've talked to women who've had doulas. I've talked to older women, younger women. You know, everybody's different. So I'm not just just going to stop at just one person's opinion on what they think I should do. But I did see in the comments like, why is she trying to rush her? Bitch, I'm not trying to rush her. She was rushing me.

And then she played with me because I ended up making it to next week. Why did I do the cast all shit? The cast all shit. I did that. I was shitty. My butthole was raw. I'm glad I didn't go into labor because for those who don't know, when you push a baby out, you have to push like you're on the toilet. Taking a number two. You don't push like you're pushing them out of your vagina. You push like you're taking shit. So,

I'm so glad because I would have had big hemorrhoids. You know what I'm saying? But who was burning big raw? Like it was like, okay, so why the fuck do people take this shit? You know now,

I was aware because everybody who told me to take it did tell me it's a laxative, but I had no idea I would be shitty for that long. So I'm glad that she didn't come. That would have been like extremely painful. Then I'm trying to do this shit without an epidural. Like I'm praying every day that I do have the strength. I mean, I know I do, but it's just like, oh my gosh, like giving birth without an epidural, just even thinking of what the hell that feels like is definitely intimidating to me. But yeah,

Want to do it. I do want to try to birth this baby with no meds No medicine and shit and so after I push out then load me up with a perk perk but Yeah, I've been that I don't know so I'm not rushing her you are her I seen it in a bunch of my fucking comments I'm like look y'all don't get black around me fucking around with pregnant just I'm very sensitive. So don't play with me like that. I

I would never do that. But I will say she is being very stubborn, very stubborn. Last appointment we went, they put the two straps, like the belts around your stomach to monitor your contractions and the duration of them and how strong they are and, you know, the time in between them and all that type shit. And I have not won on that goddamn contract.

at that appointment on that machine I was having contractions that day they were just spread out and then I want to know like y'all give me feedback on this have you ever been pregnant and like close to the time that you're having a baby and your contractions are more intense and more frequent at night and then in the morning it's like it's like no I was just playing

Like what? Like, cause that's what's been going on with me. Like at night, I don't, I have sleepless nights because I can't get comfortable. Every time I do get comfortable, 10 minutes later, here comes the biggest contraction I've ever fucking felt. They're always worse than the one before and shit, but only at night. And then during the day, they'd be like 30 minutes apart, 20 minutes apart. I'm like, what the fuck? But at night, I don't know. I don't know. I get like shooting pain in my butt.

I feel it in my vagina. Like, I'm not trying to scare anybody from having a fucking baby. But listen, the older you get, the scarier it gets. You know, like I say, I told y'all time and time before when I was 19 and I was pregnant, I had ashen at 20. I pushed that little baby out in 30 minutes.

i ain't give a sorry no give me the drugs give me the epidural whatever whatever it was a painful needle and i still felt the catheter going through my pee hole and but like i was young so i was just ready to you know what i'm saying have them get them home take care of them get back to the streets that's my truth whatever

I am so scared as a 32 year old pregnant woman, you know, and then for other people in the comments that I keep saying this shit. So I'm confused. Why is she acting like she never had a baby before? How about you try it 12 years apart, bitch? How about you do that? And then come back and let me know how you feel about it. Yeah, because this baby was planned. This is what I want. And I want more after this.

But I don't know. So because every pregnancy is different. Every woman is different. So, yeah, it's going to be like the fucking first time. I don't even remember every fucking thing because I was so fucking hot up from the epidural. So that's the thing. That's another reason why I like I want to do natural. And then shit these days, way different from shit back in the days. You know what I'm saying? Long, long time ago, those days shit was different. We are now.

In this type of time, like, you know, you have to think things through. You have to just go inside of a fucking hospital and have a baby. Like, you cannot do that. You have to plan. This is serious. You're bringing life into the world. You have to know your doctor. You have to be comfortable with your doctor and your fucking nurses because the doctor don't need to get there until the baby damn near already slide out. Shit. You got to deal with nurses who don't give a fuck.

You know, if that's the case, you know what I'm saying? At the end of the day is you and your life. Oh my God, I'm having a contraction right now, but it's not bad because the daytime, see what I'm saying? So this is like a play contraction. Anyway, let me get into these stories because I'm about to get mad at this little girl. Oh, Marley Marley. I love her name. Can't wait to meet her and cuss her ass out because she tried it.

Every week on Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso, I invite an artist, writer, or politician to come to the table and speak from the heart in ways I imagine you haven't heard from them before.

Some of my favorites are with Tom Hanks, Margaret Atwood, Questlove, Cate Blanchett, and Oscar Isaac. If that sounds like a varied group of people, it's because it is. I always wanted to make a show where one week we could sit with a politician like Beto O'Rourke, the next an author like Min Jin Lee, or TV titans like Bill Hader and Quinta Brunson. Basically, this is a podcast driven by curiosity and an abundance of research.

Conversations where people actually start to sound like people. In recent weeks, I sat with Dan Levy, Ava DuVernay, Benny Safdie, and the editor of The New Yorker, David Remnick. You can listen to Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I hope to see you there. All right. Jess, hi. I want to start by saying thank you for replying to this message if you ever open it. Okay, so my dad is getting married.

And I've grown a really, really good bond with my soon-to-be stepmom. Her and my dad are literally the cutest thing when they're together. Before I move on with the story, could we please keep this anonymous? Because this is really not my place to speak on. So why the fuck is you writing me? But I just don't know what to do. I mean, but duh, girl, everybody's anonymous. Let me give you some more insight. My stepmom is a flight attendant, so she be gone days at a time.

I'm only 18 years old and I live with my mom. So when I go to visit my dad, he has a new female over there. Oh my God. Every time almost. Oh my God. It's definitely your place to tell me your business. So I'm glad you're doing this. Continuing. It started to make me go over there a lot less and just look at him different. And he could tell the difference between my attitude, but he just don't care. And it feels like I should just mind my business and stay in a child's place.

Me and my stepmom actually talk quite frequently. And I think she's starting to pick up on some things because she does vent to me. But it's like, I don't really know what to say without saying it. So I kind of stopped responding to her as well. Damn. So she probably feel like you in on it. I know there are some things I could say, but I really don't want to upset anyone or make things worse. I just don't know what to do. Oh, poor baby. Listen, you're 18. No child should be caught in the middle of...

you know, the drama of what their parents are going through or what they see being willingly done. I don't know why your father would even allow such activity while you're almost grown as be over there. Like you're 18. You're not fucking eight. You're not six. You're not five. Like, you know what I'm saying? You are like,

About to be a grown woman. You're 18. You know what's going on. You know, you're not legally grown, but should you grow? And if he knows that you have a relationship with your stepmother, I don't even understand why the hell he would allow for, you know, other women to be around you when you go over there.

I don't understand it unless he like you said really don't give a fuck um because that's honestly what that's showing that's also a form of disrespect to you whether he looks at it like that or not um I don't know if you feel disrespected because you didn't say that but that's disrespectful um in any type of way I would definitely if my dad was getting married um and I'm 18 and

He sees that I have a relationship with my stepmom, which you always want to see, especially if this is the woman or the man that you're marrying and is not the other co-parent of the child that, you know, that you have and, you know.

You want that. You want your kids to love your soon-to-be spouse. You want your kids to, you know, you want good bonds with people. You want to secure that. You want to make sure your kids are around the right people. You want to just make sure everything is fine. And I feel like, yeah, he don't give a fuck. So your advisory question is just like what to do. You don't know what to do. You don't want to be caught in the middle. You don't want to make things worse.

I think you should talk to your dad, to be honest. The reason why I'm so torn on you telling your stepmom exactly what's going on is because I can tell you haven't talked to your father yet. That would have been something that you would have definitely included. I think you should definitely talk to your dad first because, for one, he is your blood relative. He is your father. You came out of his balls. So I would be like, look, dad,

And obviously, you know, you're cool with your dad. You go over there, you know, and all of that type of stuff. You live with your mom. But, you know, you know, your dad seemed like y'all close for the most part as well. I think you should sit down and have a conversation with him and ask him how serious is his marriage to him? How serious is, you know, his engagement to him? Because I noticed that.

When I come over here, it's like a different female every week, you know, and I know that we just call her Sherry, your stepmom. I know Sherry travels. I know she's a flight attendant. I know she's not always here. You know, I know that. And I know men have needs and all that type of stuff, but it hurts me that.

to see you with a different woman, knowing that you are engaged to Sherry. And I love Sherry. You know, this is who you introduced me to. This is the woman you're going to marry. This is, you know, the woman that I've been getting close with. And so I just want you to know how this makes me feel and then see what he says.

You know what I'm saying? That's more or less giving him your perspective on it rather than questioning his adultery pretty much. Because he's an adult. Yeah, kids just stay in a kid's place or whatever. But you're 18 and he's willingly doing it around you.

unapologetically intentionally like these are his intentions and i'm not saying that his intentions are bad or to even make you a cheater because honestly that's what he in hindsight could do as well that could make you shy away from marriage who knows why he not with your mom anymore you know but i'm just saying he's not really teaching you

Great things about fucking relationships, like, and how that goes or whatever. Hold up, hold up. I know this shit getting good, but listen to just a couple seconds of a commercial. If you love me, you'll listen.

So I think you should sit down and talk to your dad. And then if you want, talk to your stepmom. You know what I'm saying? Then I keep forgetting you're only 18. Like you said, you don't want to be in the middle. But you do feel some type of way. And you do feel guilty because you know some things. And your stepmom is venting to you and shit like that. I mean, does she have any kids? I mean, does she have friends? I know she gets lonely as shit on the road and things like that. But like...

And the most disrespectful thing, baby girl, about all of this shit is this nigga, your daddy, is bringing these women in the house. It ain't like he getting hotel rooms. It's not like he going to their house. It's not like he taking these girls out so you're never able to see. It's like these women are in he and his fiance's house. You know what I'm saying? Even if it is his house, his fiance, that's his fiance. She lives there when she's home.

Am I right or am I wrong? I'm not sure. You know what I mean? But your dad got a lot of fucking growing up to do. And it's not even about not cheating. You know what I'm saying? Like when my dad and my mom divorced and shit, it wasn't even really about like cheating. The reason why I'm saying he has a lot of fucking growing up to do is because a lot of men and a lot of women, they want two things at once that they can't have. You know, you ever heard of the saying,

You want your cake and eat it too. I mean, but I hate that saying because it's like, bitch, what am I supposed to do with cake? Sit here and look at it. I'm supposed to eat my fucking cake. So I don't like that saying. But you can't be engaged to someone about to walk down the aisle with somebody like this is premarital. Like this is, you know what I'm saying? Like, and then showing your fucking Royal Oats before we even get to the aisle. Like, nigga, this is already supposed to be out of your fucking system.

Like, you know, before you got down on one knee and proposed to me, because that's why you get that's why you propose to somebody. Right. Because this is your partner. This is your person. This is the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Hopefully, you know, that's not too overrated for some years. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's what marriage is. And I think people get married for the wrong reasons these days, which I've shared with my listeners before. I've always said it. I think people have lost.

The meaning of marriage and they're only looking at like the wedding and looking at the positive and looking at the advantages of being married. Nobody's really preparing for what a fucking marriage really is. You know what I'm saying? Because it ain't about you no more. But your dad is being selfish as shit because it is about him. He want to live like a bachelor. So I'm saying he got a lot of growing up to do.

Because he needs to take accountability and just realize himself and be able to say it out loud. I can't be with one woman. I can't. I can't be one woman. Well, my dad figured that out. Yes, my dad. Well, my dad realized I just want to be free or his words.

that he could be comfortable in saying that and not Criticized not look down on not be called the worst person in the world Because my mom and my dad got married at such a young age both straight out of high school You know what I'm saying? They never got to live their bachelor bachelorette life. Nothing like that So that's what happens you get married young and then you start cheating, you know, or you know, it just don't work You know, it's a lot of reasons why people shouldn't get married too young. You know, I mean and

That's serious. That's a serious covenant between you and a person, a commitment. That's just not like boyfriend, girlfriend. It's a lot of shit you got to go through to get divorced. It's a lot of shit you should have to go through before you get married. So, you know, if this is your person or not, but that's why I need you to talk to your dad first. And then if you feel like it,

You don't get no way with your dad. Feel free to talk to your stepmom. You know what I'm saying? Do you talk to your mom? I know your mom probably like, shit, that's somebody else's headache now, baby, because I already went through all that shit. But sorry, didn't want to laugh there. But do you talk to your mom about it? You know, has your mom developed a relationship with your stepmom? Not to put her in the middle of it either, but sometimes one woman needs another woman, you know, and

You're a child. You're a child, but you are a young lady. You know right from wrong, and you know that your dad ain't really shit for real. I'm sorry. As a dad, I don't know how he is, but as a man in a relationship or someone to take serious, nah, he ain't shit. So yeah, I'm not really coming at him as a dad, but nah, that nigga ain't shit. So I think today I'll talk to him, like I said.

get back with me and let me know if you did try to talk to him and then do what you feel at the end of the day. Don't want to be caught up in the middle, but say if that were you, you know what I'm saying? Say if you were somebody's stepmother and you got close to his 18 year old daughter and you starting to see his patterns change and all that type of shit, would you want to put that daughter in the middle of

And ask her what do you know or would the daughter come to you? You know, would you even want the door? You know, you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know. You got to look at it from all perspectives. And I know, like I said, you're so young. You don't want to like you say you young.

You don't want to deal with it, but shit, you writing me about it. I'm not going to say it's not your business to speak on because he put you in the middle of it. He kind of did put you in the middle of it or you wouldn't notice shit. You know what I'm saying? Like he just sloppy. He don't even give a fuck, you know? So just get back with me, baby girl. All right.

And just like that, we've come to yet the end of another Catholic Reckless episode, which girl just hilarious. Okay. So next week, hopefully I have this baby guys next week. We just won't keep on saying next week. By then I'll be 41 weeks. I'm actually 10 months pregnant now. So yeah, we'll see. But, um, love you guys and tune in next week to Catholic Reckless. Peace.
