It's almost 30 podcast. Hi, everybody. Welcome to the show. It's Lindsay and Krista, and we are five days out from our book. Yes, the book is here. The book is landing. I am so...
Freaking excited. I honestly can't believe it's here. I know. We have been writing this since 2023. Yeah. 2023. Spring of 2023. And how different life was then. Was it spring of 2023? Yeah. Was I out of...
I don't even know what I was doing then. We started writing in April of 2023. I had Mav in August. We thought we were going to finish by August before I had him. He came early and we still needed time, to be honest. Yeah. And then we finished January 24th. Yeah. Yeah.
basically. Yeah. I think I had gotten separated in like January, 2023. So it was like a few months after that, starting that process of this new journey. And it's so interesting because being in New York, that was like the beginning of my Saturn return process being in New York. And then I moved to New York for that relationship and then ending and leaving that relationship as we wrote the book and really coming into the person that I am through writing that book process. Yeah.
You know, like I don't know if I would have had the same insights or information or perspective at all if I would have written that book as the person I was in that relationship. So it was perfect that I had that. Well, we always – I mean, we've known for a long time that we've had a book in us. Yeah. But it's never been the right time until it was the right time. Yeah. And it all –
Yeah.
still in the thick of it, I think was important to us. For sure. But in it, we share so many stories about when we were in the thick of it, you know, so many vulnerable, embarrassing stories about our process. So in the book, Lindsay and I wanted to have not only stories of our journey of almost 30, where we felt so lost and we felt so confused and we wanted to push ourselves to be as vulnerable as possible about how hard it was.
And then also we share how we got out of that, how we became the people that we are through the teachings on the show. And so the teachings on the show are incorporated in the learnings and lessons are incorporated in. We also share about things that we teach now. And then we bring in past the mic. So we bring in information from our guests.
from the amazing people that have been teaching us over the years, teaching you guys through listening to the show. And so there's like this beautiful mix of vulnerability, of truth, of our teachings and lessons, and then the teachings and lessons from some of the best in the industry. Yeah, it's a whole experience. It's
It's funny. It's deep. It's honest. And also it's interactive. So we want to make sure that, you know, we're also integrating as we're reading. And this book, yes, you could read in a couple days, but we really see this as like your –
that you're going to hold and bring with you through times of change. And so you can visit these journal prompts and different integration practices and meditative moments that I think really kind of drive home what we're talking about in the book. And our hope is that you kind of feel like you're hanging with your big sisters who have been through so much change.
You know, we're not perfect and we don't have it all figured out, but we've been through some really formative times and have allowed change to really work on us in our relationships, in our career, within ourselves, in our relationship with our bodies. And yeah, we're really, really proud of how this turned out. 333 pages. Yeah.
And I love that number. That's a meaty book. I remember talking to Jenna Zoe throughout the process because she had written her book, I think, the year before when we were writing. Her book came out the year before and we were writing. And she's like, yours is like a textbook. She's like, it is meaty. I'm like, yeah, it's meaty. And we cut it down. We cut it down. Yeah. There was so much that I wanted to say and share and teach and
just talk about just because my desire for anyone reading it is to trust and believe that any mess that they're in could be magic in their life and that anything that they do want to create, even if they don't feel like they're capable of, is absolutely possible, you know, if they just approach things with consciousness and love and grace. And so...
If you want a definitive guide to a life that you love for your 20s or 30s and beyond, this is it. You can pre-order the book at almost30.com slash book.
Pre-orders are really important. I'm just going to say it out loud. So if you haven't ordered the book yet, it would mean the world to us because our intention is really to get this into as many hands as possible, not necessarily for the recognition, but we really believe that this book is going to be integral in these seasons that you're moving through. Just a
super supportive, loving, impactful guide. So I just want to make sure as many people get this as possible. So your pre-orders mean so, so much to get it out there to as many bookstores and online retailers as possible.
AlmostReady.com slash book. And then you get a surprise. Yeah, you get surprises. When it comes in the mail. You get surprises in addition to our pre-order incentives, like our masterclass or the Saturn Return Guide, where it breaks down how the Saturn Return impacted your specific chart. Or if it's camp, it's like...
It's great to just have something that you order and then it's on the way and it comes. You're like, this came at the perfect time. So today's episode, we wanted to share with you some of the insights that we've had over the years on the Saturn return period. So the Saturn return period is where Saturn hits the same point
in the sky when you were born. And this is a period between 27 and 30 most of the time. And it's really when some of the most pivotal changes and transformations happen in your life. So not only is this astrological event happening where Saturn, the taskmaster planet, is really checking in on how you're showing up in the world, on the path that you're on, it's helping you adjust to make sure that where you're going is where you're meant to be from a soul level. So for a lot of people, this means rock bottom. A lot of people, this means breakups. A lot of people, this means losing jobs.
quitting jobs, transitioning. It means a lot of different change and transformation. But all of this is for your greatest good, especially if you can approach it with consciousness, if you can choose the change happening in your life. Some people have really peaceful, easy Saturn returns that are beautiful because they're living a life that's aligned. Mine was absolutely the
earth-shattering, crazy, wild, but ultimately was what I needed for me to become more of the person I came here to be. And if I would have known that this was working on me during that period of my life, I would have been able to kind of pull myself up and out of the chaos a bit more and not be so defined by what I was experiencing around me and rather use it as a vehicle for transformation. I think we can get
So convinced during chaos that this is our life and this is forever. And yeah, that's my hope too is that people realize that this is such a potent opportunity and you don't have to be perfect throughout it and you don't have to figure it all out through it.
But I think the point is just coming back to yourself, understanding who you really are and who you're really meant to be in this life. And from there, from that relationship with yourself that you tend to,
most things fall into place. Like life becomes, like you said earlier, just magical in a lot of ways, whereas before it might've felt like it was falling apart. And even if you're not in your Saturn return time and you want support through a time of change or growth or transformation, this is your guide to that. It's the meeting change
with a approach of a growth mindset and learning to use change to your advantage and use it to be something that creates the life that you want and love. Because for you to live better, for you to live your dream life, it means leaving the life you're in now. And so I'm really excited for you guys to get it and to experience the book and for you to listen to some of our experts that we've had on the show talking about the Saturn return and talking about this
period and talking about change. So it's going to be really helpful for you and really understanding how to navigate it and understanding about yours specifically. If you want more information about your specific Saturn return, you could figure out the dates of it with our Saturn return calculator. So we are the only place on the internet where you can find the exact dates

If you're into gut health or glowing skin, you're going to want to hear this. So listen up. You already know that we are huge, huge fans of Symbiotica. So when they launched their new Irish Sea Moss product,
I freaked out and I knew I had to try it. Okay, so I've tried sea moss once before. I didn't really take to it. It was kind of a weird texture. It was like not exactly something I was looking forward to taking. So I just kind of fell off of it. But Symbiotica Sea Moss, game changer. As they always do, it's a smooth...
like delivery. It's a liquid delivery. And this is a smooth lemon vanilla liquid pouch that actually tastes amazing. And I look forward to taking it. Plus liquid means it's more bioavailable. So your body absorbs more of the good stuff. And each pouch is packed with trace minerals to support gut health, thyroid function, and glowing skin. And the added aloe vera. Yeah.
It soothes the gut and promotes a calm, happy belly, which if you ask me is the secret to looking and feeling your best, honestly. True radiance starts from within. You hear it, but truly experience it here. Try it first at symbiotica.com slash almost 30 for 20% off and free shipping. That's symbiotica.com slash almost 30 for 20% off and free shipping. I will never not talk about gut health as it relates to whole body and mind health. Honestly, it is so important. We know it's important, but like, are we actually doing things or taking things that can just crack that wellness code and get our gut into really good condition?
I want to make your life easier. I want to recommend Just Thrive. This is an incredible brand. Let me talk about what I'm taking from Just Thrive. So their probiotic and antioxidant has been unbelievable for me. Unlike most probiotics that don't even survive your stomach acid. Yep. Yeah, that's real. Just Thrive spore-based stimulants.
strains actually make it to your gut alive where they can do the work. And I felt it less bloating, better digestion and more clarity overall. And if you're someone who deals with stress or mental overload, hello, all of us, I want to recommend this product. It's called just calm. It's a great duo. They work together really well. So this is their mood supporting supplement and it helps me stay just like more balanced during those extra life is lifing kind of days, you know,
It features a unique probiotic strain that supports your gut brain axis, which is real and backed by science, by the way.
What I love most is how simple they make it. No crazy routines, no fridge required. And they're both non-GMO, vegan, and made without common allergens. I just take one of each daily, and I feel like I've been giving my body the real support it needs from the inside out. So if your gut's been asking for help, or if you want to start feeling better overall, Just Thrive is a great
place to start, head to justthrivehealth.com and use the code almost 30 for 20% off your first order. That's justthrivehealth.com. Code is almost 30 for 20% off. Yeah. Can we talk about uncertainty a little bit? Because related to astrology, we know we'll pull up a little bit out of the IM for a second, but we know that there are certain transits happening at different times in our lives and
And so I guess what would you recommend to someone who is moving through a season that feels like very uncertain, whether it's like in their professional life and their personal dating life? What can they look at? They can definitely look at the outer planets. That's Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto and do what's called a transit chart. So your chart never changes. It's a freeze frame, right? Snapshot of where all the planets were when you were born.
But there's something called a bi-wheel chart. So you put your chart in the middle and then you show the moving planets in another wheel around it, like a camera aperture, old school camera. So you can see how long a season is going to last. And then when you know, okay, I'm in my Saturn return case in point. I'm not, but I'm just saying like a listener is likely to be. So you know that's two and a half years. You're in kind of a boot camp. But
But you could also look at where's Jupiter in my chart? What house is it falling in? Oh, it's in my 12th house of endings. So until next June. So why don't I not try to force myself, go explore my creativity, do things that are 12th house. I would get a professional astrology reading or learn how to do a transit chart on your own. We have lots of materials for that. Um,
and and just breathe through it because you'll see yeah those seasons do pass but if you swim upstream and force your you may get through it but you'll suffer all the way through yeah i think those tough seasons just ones that are especially like very it's like an abyss you can't really see a few feet in front of you i think we want to just get out and rush through um and so if
for those that kind of need to get out, I think it also helps to have a bit of a timeline astrologically to say like, okay, by June, there's going to, or around June, there's going to be some relief. And I think that really helps me to understand, you know, what I'm getting into. I mean, and there are, we have PDF somewhere. I'll try to get you the link for it for people. The seasons of,
we call it ages and stages of astrology. So there's your, um, there's your thirties or forties or fifties, sixties, your twenties, like you will have at age 42, what's called the Uranus opposition. Yes. I feel like we talked about this and referenced Adam Levine. Okay. Yeah,
it's the astrological midlife crisis okay your fertility is on its last gasp so this kundalini energy rises up and wow you suddenly feel like uranus is the planet of youth so it's like the surge of life force energy where you just want to sleep with everything in sight and preferably not what you're married to and uh if you're married and you know it's like if we don't know that that's coming it's like
Because I feel like we spend way too much time trying to be like, let me get everything perfect so nothing changes. And then it's like, that's so boring. We are not encouraged to like, we're making 38,000 decisions a day, maybe more. So of course we're overwhelmed, but then we're encouraged to live our lives. Like just put yourself in a smaller and smaller box. Wait, now have adventures and go discover. And it's just so confusing. So you need a guidance system. And that's what,
I am is meant to be. At least you're like, I know my, my operating system. And that gives me more free will. Yeah. It's interesting to think about like how much pressure is put on the twenties and thirties in particular around establishing your life.
like as if it's going to be a fixed thing beyond 3940, right? Which is like the four, I mean, and I'm 51 now. So when I started, that's why I literally said I got my chart 30 years ago. I could flash back to the nineties in a second, but yeah,
I can absolutely say that your 20s and 30s are like a cool practice. I mean, a lot happens, but like legit your 40s bring a whole new, you know, and apparently your 50s do too. And it's got your Chiron return at 4950. That's when a lot of women are like, even if I am happily married, all of a sudden, like I'm the main act here. And I get, I'm really interested in my own creativity and like,
going to Portugal with and starting a Golden Girls con with all my friends. I'm not saying I'm doing that, but if someone asked me, I would. And it's interesting that that falls after, you know, whether it's like childbearing age where it's like there's kind of this resurgence of
the identity of like your own identity. It's like, you know, it makes you, I mean, I know you guys, at least Krista is here for the aliens. I'm like, someone should design this, you know, because this is too weird. Too weird. Um, okay. So that's, that's helpful. I feel like for people moving through just that unknown when it comes to relationships,
You know, we talk about all the time on the podcast, especially in this season where Chris is dating. Right. I'm married. There's just a lot of different flavors of conversation around this and a range of experiences in our audience. So this is going to be great. But.
To start with love and dating, we're in a time where people are dating a lot online, which is, you know, not a bad thing, but it's just a different thing. Where I'm hearing from friends that, like, people aren't approaching each other, both men and women. It's just a really different and interesting time to be dating. So for each type, I guess, how would you recommend that people...
and or connect with potentially their person. Oh, yeah. We have a very fun part, including compatibility in the book. Amazing. I'm going to get on my Sag soapbox for a minute and say, if we can come up with over 70 pronouns for gender, then we've got to come up with some other varietals for relationships. Like, can we just be relationship fluid in this world? I know we are, but it has all these like,
overly like, you're Polly, you're this. No, I just, you know, just don't want to be, oh, labeled. Or have to like ditch my best friend who's the opposite sex or have people like, so when are you, you know, like. Yes. And I really think that has to do with why people are avoiding each other too. Tali was saying she was watching old sex in the city. She was like, they had flip phones with no cameras. No wonder they did whatever they wanted. Yeah.
So like your relationship is happening on stage and you're about your, it's like where you're going to fall on your face the most while the whole world watches. So no wonder people are like relationship shy. Yeah, that's a great point. We gave a secondary name, the innovators are the idealists. I like to say the independents also. So I recommend for innovators, like you don't ever have to live with your part.
or maybe keep a second space. I always have. Love that. If you can. What does that look like for you? Well, it looks like I've had this apartment for 22 years that, you know, if I have to rent it out or do whatever to keep it, I need a space on my own.
I brought him up before, but Ben Affleck, innovator, like all I'm seeing every time, you know, I open a gossip magazine is like Ben Affleck closes on a Brentwood home of his own on J-Lo's birthday. OK, I was like, if he had just
kept his own home as an innovator, they might still be together. But that's not acceptable. So it's so stupid. It's like he's moved out. So now they have to follow this societal script and get divorced, right? Maybe the dude just needs some space. A hundred percent. Yeah. Yeah. There's so much pressure. And then we get confused as individuals in a relationship because of that pressure. And then we start to act
a little funky and not in alignment with like, hey, I just need space. And the other person's like, great, does that make you happy? Awesome. Right. I mean, we would all do that. And people are doing that, but nobody's talking about it in a way that it's become a thing like a they-them. Yeah. Oh, like we need the they-them relationship. So I'm hoping this helps people in some way own their choices and what feels right to them because...
Yeah, it's not societally acceptable. And then you move in with someone and you're just like, you get the Esther Perel trap or whatever. I know that's the reason she's so popular. But authorities do like to live with, like my authority stepdaughter who's turning 25 has already engaged her authority boyfriend. They've been together since high school. They live together. But you know what? They're actually happy. Yeah.
So people are like, oh. It's like stability. Right. Okay. They're getting what they want. I mean, no marriage or relationship is guaranteed anyway. But like right now, to use your word, in this season of her authority life, she's very happy and satisfied by that. So good for her. I'm not going to tell her what to do. You know, my innovator self thought I'd never get married. Yeah.
So yeah, but what was right for me isn't right for her. And then for mavens, so authorities are what we call the attachers. So they have a secure attachment style and they love to build memories and a legacy. Their joy is in like,
the nostalgia, the we go here every year, we planned this trip for 10 months and then we went for our anniversary, we're doing this. And they really do like...
make those moments special. So, you know, when it's time, you know, when it's time to feel special and really honor an occasion in a relationship, nobody does it like an authority. And it is very touching. My entire family is all innovators, my mom, my dad, and my two sisters, and my daughter and my niece. It's crazy. So my dad, you know, my dad's idea of
celebrating their anniversary was like he was a landscaper he's like oh i cut some roses for one of my you know customers shrubs like cute no because he just remembered it was my mom's birthday because he's 10 years ahead and it's mine so whereas the authority probably said planning a surprise you know and this kind of thing so and then the maven is the mirror so they love to
Sit down, digest the day, dialogue, couples massage, couples meditation, go to a concert, go to a just dance and be like high on life together. Like, I don't know if that describes your bliss. It's interesting. Yeah, I need to look up Sean's because I'm like, yeah, we do. I'm thinking he's either innovator or a thinker.
Yeah. But there's some Maven in there too. So I'm curious. Well, everyone has a spread. So like also like we call it Astro Ayurveda. We have a part of the book too, balancing your charts. So you want to know if you're high, low or spread out evenly. Like Krista is a Maven, but she's 445 in her IM. So she has more range. And you were lower, I think, on authority too, right? Yeah.
For you, you might attract an authority to balance you out or you totally did your astro-ayurveda with that cosmic dosha by hiring a family assistant. So I'm low on maven. I don't always like to do social media and that kind of thing. I always have to push myself or hire that out. Okay, I like that, the balancing of. So if someone's looking at...
the percentage or numbers associated with each type in their specific I am chart, they can look at the lowest number and just figure out how they can either invite more of that in themselves or maybe bring someone into a, whether it's a professional dynamic or personal dynamic and is being the same in a romantic relationship, uh,
potentially really good or potentially pros and cons. And we have, we have how they all match up in the book, but innovator, innovator, you can be ships passing in the night, but you're never bored. Maybe you should have a business together. So you have something outside of yourselves. You're both excited about, you know, innovator authority can become a little parentalized or the authority feels like they never, you know, know what to expect. They can never make a plan. The innovators always late. Um,
changing it, innovator and maven, it's fun. But the maven doesn't always get the innovators undivided attention. They drift off to their projects. So when you're both in the zone with your projects, it's fine. But like when the maven needs to talk things through, the innovator gets impatient, like what's the point, you know? Right. Right. Or vice versa.
And then authority and maven, definitely the authority can be like, treat you like a misbehaving child. It's the worst. And then maven, maven, it's always fun, but like, who's going to be the adult in the room? Right. Okay. Okay. That's helpful.
You mentioned about 29 to 31 and that period in time being important. A lot of our audience, you know, they're in their 20s, they're in their early 30s. We have audience all over the world in all ages. But the reason why I ask around this age is because this is how we started the podcast and it felt so transformational for us. What's sort of happening astrologically for folks during that time? Well, that is the Saturn return time.
And basically, that's when the planet Saturn returns to its birth position. So...
in your chart, Saturn was in a certain place when you were born. It returns to that exact position between 29 and 31. Saturn is the planet of karma, consequence, discipline, maturity, authority, and time. So when it goes back to that natal position, it's asking the question, who do you define yourself to be?
Are you doing the work of fully being you? So one thing I noticed, because I work with all ages, if people are doing their work, that Saturn return is incredibly fruitful. Like that's when I bought my first house. And even though I was crying, oh my God, I'll never be able to pay the mortgage. You know, I was really upset about it. But it was a really major commitment to myself that I'm going to earn this money and do that.
But if people are resisting growing up, the Saturn return is brutal. If they're like the people that say, I never want to grow up and I like being a kid and why do I have to work and all that stuff? Saturn returns brutal because Saturn is that sledgehammer of reality.
So if you haven't faced reality and been real with yourself about your talents, but also your deficits, Saturn can be very hard. So I'm telling everyone. And Saturn happens every seven years. So you're never getting away from Saturn. And I love Saturn. So...
That is unpopular to say. People often like, oh, when will it be over? Saturn is the character maker. And if you're about making a great contribution this lifetime, you love Saturn because Saturn is going to put your ass in the chair and you're going to do the work or be depressed and, you know, victim and loser. Yeah. Like here's another one I want to say to people is very unpopular as a therapist to say this, but if you're still blaming your parents at 30, you're in trouble. Yeah.
I mean, you know, I'm down. Wait, I did. It didn't work out well to do that. It's very unattractive.
It's unattractive. You're not taking responsibility. You're stuck. It's like, I understand because people want to be heard in their pain. It's just, you're no longer living with your parents. It's up to you what kind of life you make and the trauma that you've gone through. And I went through trauma and lots of people go through trauma. It's up to you to heal that. You can't hold people from the past responsible for who you are now at that age.
You said Saturn. You mentioned a seven-year cycle. It's every seven years. That was every 27. That's a Saturn return. Every 28 to 30, you go through your Saturn return. But Saturn makes an angle to Saturn every seven years. So every seven years, you're in a review of how far you've come with your own work cycle.
Wow. Your own soul's work curriculum. Isn't that weird too? Don't your cells renew every seven years? I think it's something like that. All the cells in your body and then your taste buds. There's like biological, physiological things that happen too. Yeah, I think seven years is a very, very important thing. It's often when marriages break up. Seven years, 14 years, 21 years, 28 years. Yes.
Because people hit a spot of real, you know, difficulty, challenge, friction. And some people meet that and go, we're going to bust through that and get stronger and better. Because that's the other thing about Saturn. If you're having a really hard time, it's like setting the bone better than when it was, you know, or it can be the end of something. How did you feel overall about your Saturn return?
I was in, I think, I don't know my, it's hard because my awakening and my Saturn return were around the same time. I had my awakening when I was like 24.
or like just my reawakening. But then my Saturn return started when I was like 28. So I don't really know. It's hard to like mix the two. But I think I was at the corporate job trying to do a bunch of different things. It felt very, it felt like there was a lot of friction, to be honest. Well, yeah, I didn't have an easy one either. But looking back, that was one of the most formative growth periods of my life. And so I do want to flash forward to anyone that's older. I
I've been in a Saturn period now for two and a half years to my son, my moon. But now knowing what I know, I'm not like, well, Saturn, I just I just really when I'm going to be in a really productive period. And sure enough, right. I wrote my book. I did the things. But the complaining and the whining is good for a moment.
But really, you want to look at those Saturn possibilities and say, what could I manifest in this time if I put in the effort? Oh, and I have something I've been really thinking about I want to share with all of you. Let's hear it. In my book thing right now, I have to make a lot of asks and it's really hard. You know how that is. So a really close friend of mine said,
Oh, I just always thought you're so good at that. And I went, you know what's really weird about being good at something? People don't realize it's because you make a lot of effort. There's a lot of fantasy that if people are good at something, it comes easily to them and there's no effort. And I want to clarify to all of the people right now, when somebody looks effortless at something, it's because they've put in a ton of effort.
And I think this is about you two and doing this show. It's a lot of work to fly from Brooklyn to meet up, to figure out your show, to get your people. Well, whatever, you know, to keep yourselves looking good. That's a huge piece. But I just really want to demystify that because I know I grew up thinking, God, I'm
It should be easy if I'm going to do it instead of, no, actually something that you put a lot of time into and craft, you could end up looking like it's really easy, but you're actually a master at it. That's why it looks that way. We're technically millennials, but thinking about the younger generations, bless them, I think they're like so powerful in so many ways. And I think there's an aspect to that.
what they see through social media and other forms of consumption where they're seeing lives of people and they're like, Oh,
you know, they kind of want to skip the steps. Completely. And they're like, why do I, you know, why do I have to work this hard? I just want to fill in the blank. And I think there is just so much fulfillment and purpose to that part of the process that like we know very, very well, starting on our closet floors, you know, like the seven year process that we've been in that makes what we do now, yes, look perhaps effortless, but
but makes it more fulfilling. You earned it. Yeah. And I can also tell you, because I work with billionaires, millionaires, people that have inherited a ton of money, when people haven't felt like they've earned something, they tend to destroy it. Yes. So the earning is a huge piece of what makes something fulfilling. I have a funny story. My granddaughter is eight. And for the first time, her parents were letting her watch the Olympics and
And she really liked the ice skating. So we were saying to her, we're all very close. Well, Nora, you know, if you want to start skating, it's like you have to do five, six hours a day to be this good. And she said with complete authority, no, no, I could just do like a day a week and be that good.
And it's that thought like, no, no, they have to do that work. But I am special and I'll just magically skate right into the Olympics. I kind of thought that way when I was younger. Root awakening. And then I would quit. I'd be like, I'm out. Would you say then that Saturn is the planet of manifestation? It is. It is. That is the planet you have to work with to manifest.
And I want to also say people have gotten very confused by this whole manifest love, manifest money crusade, because unless it's aligned with greater spirit and a generosity toward life and community, if it's only self-referencing, they've missed the whole point. You can manifest anything, but if it's just for your self-embellishment,
I've never met a person that's happy getting it. Never, not once. It's like the why. Why? Why do you want that sexy hot guy? Why? What do you think it's going to give you? Like you're both in relationship, right? And I'm 26 years in.
One hopes that you find that person and everything else is solved because that's how the ego works. Like if I get this, then it's all set. It's just the opposite from true. You just have that and then the ego wants that and the ego wants that. Whereas if you say...
I want this partner. I'm going to manifest this partner for the why of so that I can be more generative in the world so that I can give more to other people so that my love is transformative on this planet. You have a lot better shot of being happy that you find it. It's like the ego versus the soul. Yeah. Manifestation. Yeah. Okay. Let's all take a deep breath together. This is so crazy to say out loud.
But our book is coming out in just a few days, like this Monday, June 3rd.
Is this real? This is so crazy. It's called Almost 30, A Definitive Guide to a Life You Love for the Next Decade and Beyond. And Krista and I poured our entire hearts into this. There's going to be clarity and laughs and moments of like, oh my God, that makes so much sense. So I'm excited for you. You can go to almost30.com slash book and learn all about it, pre-order it there and get your bonuses. I'm so grateful for the Saturn return period, the almost 30 period when a lot of people are waking up where they're like, oh my God, wait, I don't want to be a lawyer. I don't want to do that. Saturn is like, you will suffer. Yeah.
So much more. If you don't realize that you are up against a wall, a rock and a hard place, there's nowhere to go. Say more. Reality check.
It is. And you're lucky if it happens. Totally. You are blessed if it happens. The last thing you want is to be on the wrong track for one second longer than you need to be. So if your Saturn return comes, which is something that happens between the age, usually like 27, 28 to 30, that if that corner of your life is just filled with
hard stops, reality checks, learning to say no boundaries and having to bet on yourself, then you're lucky. I love the betting on yourself. I haven't thought about that. Yeah. I think this is the point I wanted to say about the career. When you were talking about how you wish you would have taken the course and stuff, there's this concept called like, I forget who the person is, but it's thinking about your career instead of a career path as like a career portfolio.
And I love that concept where you're like, this is my art. This is my human art. Like I did this job as a bartender or me, I was like a consultant. And then I was in this job and then I worked at a nursing home. And you're just like, you're like, wow. Yeah. And it doesn't necessarily need to be like, I was here and then I was director and then I was VP. You know what I mean? It's not this, it's like this, this, this, this, this. And how could all of these skills and things that you learn
just help and culminate to apply to the next thing that you eventually do. But for you now, like you're such a baller and like you are crushing. So there's a part of me sometimes that's like, it's easy to be like, it all makes sense. Like, did you feel lost actually during it? Like when you were not on your path, were you like, Oh my God, I was existentially lost, dramatic unwell. I was like, dude, I literally was like crying in the
13th floor of my corporate job. I was like, what am I doing here? They're like, please just schedule that meeting we need. And I'm like, but what's the point? Like, what's the purpose of this? Like so dramatic. Dramatic and well. Unwell. Yeah. Forever. For a lot longer than you. I know my life didn't start to come together until I was like 38. Was that in your chart? I mean, I have a really harsh Saturn situation. And so if you do,
there's a Vedic, which is Indian astrology kind of principle that says things will start to shift when you're 36. And it really did. 36 was a very helpful time. By the time I got to 38, it was like everything just fell into place. And so I will say like my whole life, I had this pressure on myself because I felt so ambitious and so driven and I had no idea where I was supposed to go with it all.
So it was like an engine revving itself up and like overheating and melting down and dramatic unwell. It took so long to get on the track, but then you look back and you're like, oh, well, it all adds up. But I had so much pressure on myself. I was like, this all has to add up to a perfect ending. And then I'm like, no, it doesn't. But it also kind of has. So yeah.
Also, my story is something that is in the end, at this point, at the end of the dramatic unwell, quite magical. But let me tell you, it's like 38 years of feeling lost and unloved and without a place in the world.
And like my potential was being wasted. My life was flashing over my eyes and I was never going to find it. I just felt like such a loser, to be honest. I felt like everybody else has figured out how to life. Yeah, that feeling. And I just it's like this cellular soul feeling where I'm fucking here. Yeah. And it's not like I'm here for a reason and I'm.
Tony Robbins and I'm like and I'm like yeah but it's like whatever the fuck literally whatever the fuck this needs to do like I have to do
We're going to get into numerology in a moment, but I want to round out our astrology conversation with Saturn return. So I didn't know you're in it now, which is so powerful. And anytime someone's going through their Saturn return, I'm like, I feel honored to be in their presence because I just know how big of a deal it is. And I'm just like, Oh, like, wow, such a big time for you. Can we share with everyone that,
One, like where can they look in their chart to get some sort of guidance and or like breath of fresh air or hope in this time? Because it can be.
And if you want to set up just briefly kind of what the Saturn return is, that's totally fine too. Most people know, but we got some newbies here. Okay. The Saturn return is when Saturn comes back into the sign that it was when you were born. And so what I always like to say, it's like returning to sender. We come back to the original point, the lesson that our soul, oh, it was born knowing we had to figure this thing out one day. And we recognize at 29, we're,
wow, have I been ignoring, pushing away this very, very important, crucial life milestone. So as dramatic as it sounds, you're meeting your maker at 29. You are coming home to sender, but it's very difficult because you have to undo 29 years of society, patriarchy, white supremacy, all of these things.
tearing us away. I just watched this amazing interview with Viola Davis. She went on Hot Ones, you know, that show where they eat hot wings. And she was so profound while eating these hot wings. But what she said is she feels like the whole purpose of life is the hero's journey of the hero goes out and they, you know, lose themselves. They go through all of these difficult things. And the only quest that they are actually on is just coming back to who they originally were.
And I think that's what a Saturn return is, is you just remember, you wake up and you're like, whoa, have I been forgetting? I forgot. But I knew, I knew the moment that I was born who I was, but the world makes it so hard to be yourself. Yeah. So.
the way I like to describe it to people. And by the way, this happens for everyone at 29, not just me and not just you, everyone at 29 and, uh, Saturn and astrology is a feared planet, but I don't think we should fear it. It's the great teacher. It's the one that absolutely has our best interest in mind. And it says, I'm so sorry what has been done to you, but I need you to do better. So it's kind of compassion with accountability. And, um,
And also this notion of you're, you know, at 29, I think it's really common outside of astrology to be like, fuck, I'm the only person who's going to make my life a success or a failure. I know. Right. It's that moment where you're like, if I want to be healthy, I got to be healthy. If I want to be successful, I got to go do some work. So I think Saturn is about reparenting. And then lastly, to your point around like, where can we look in the chart for hope or, you know, whatever? Because by the way, I'm sure you guys understand the Saturn return is kind of
And it's a dark night of the soul for many of us. For other people, it's just like a breakdown. Other people, it's a breakthrough. Everyone navigates Saturn in a different way. Some people love Saturn. Some people have great Saturn returns, by the way. Yeah, if they've been themselves the whole time, they're like, whatever, guys. I don't know what you're talking about. Or they might just be someone who loves self-worth.
Just someone who's like, bring it on. Like I fucking love taking inventory. So anyways, that's a bit of a sidebar. So just know you don't have to hate your Saturn return, but many of us find it very, very difficult. So if you're looking for hope with like, what is the North star here? Google the qualities of your Saturn sign. So,
So I can kind of do this off in a riff because I can kind of gauge the age of your audience for the most part. Granted, we have some outliers, but let's say you're an older millennial. You have Saturn and Sagittarius. Let's say you're a middle-aged millennial. You have Saturn and Capricorn. If you're a younger millennial, you have Saturn and Aquarius. And I'm not quite sure, but I think maybe even youngest millennials are Saturn and Pisces. Mm-hmm. Okay.
so Google the sign that your, uh, Saturn is in and look to what qualities you're going to begin embodying after you do all this work. So an example being, uh,
like Saturn Aquarius, which is what my age group is going through right now. The pain is that we have to recognize all the sides of ourselves that we said were weird, lame. Oh, that's too queer. I can't go there. I don't want to be an outsider. I need to be an insider. That's so painful to look at the parts of yourself that may be in middle school, as young as elementary school, middle school, high school, within your family, outside your family, you decided were too weird. And I put that in air quotes.
And then, but the gifts of it is like the highest manifestation of Aquarius is saying to be an quote unquote insider, you have to be an outsider to belong to humanity. You have to understand that we're all so weird and we're all so unique and
And every quality that we think is so shameful is the very thing that connects us to the rest of us. I'm sure you experience this on the podcast all the time. Every time you guys talk about a topic that you feel like is so shameful, suddenly you get an outpouring of support from others. That's so Aquarian.
And so, yeah, long story short is Google the quality of that sign. Just Google what is Pisces or what is Aquarius, what is Capricorn, and then recognize if I'm willing to look at the ways I've rejected this sign, then one day I'll begin to embody this sign. And that's maybe one of the most important things I'll ever have to go through in life. Wow.
Wow. So you're looking at the sign that your Saturn is in, and this is kind of what you are going to embody more of after your Saturn return forever or just for a certain depending. So one of my favorite things to consider with astrology is determinism versus self-will and
And I'm a huge believer that's a dance of both. And so it's up to you. How much do you want to integrate the sign? How much do you want to meet your maker? How much are you willing to listen to Saturn? Saturn's kind of subtle. Saturn's kind of like, I think you could do better. I'm not going to knock at your door again, though. I'm not.
going to bug you for another 29 years. So if you would like to do this dance with me, I will make your life so much more integrated. If you don't, I'll see you in another 29 years. And so that's why if you think about past generations, you
our parents being one of them boomers, but I think especially about the generation prior, they couldn't integrate Saturn in many ways because in some ways they were so forced to be Saturnian, meaning unself-expressed. And I think about the damage that that does and all the cliches of the mid-life crisis. I think that that is 100% someone who did not choose to meet their maker at 29 and they had to meet them again at 56. Yes.
Say no more. I mean, I feel like we see that all the time. And I think about our parents' generation. And I was thinking about my parents are in their early to mid-60s now. But I was thinking about their second Saturn return time. And I'm like, what was happening then? A few things were notable. And I was like, huh, OK. And to your point of that generation not being able to really face what was coming up at that
during their first Saturn return is so true. And you know, that's why as hard as your Saturn return is, I am thankful that we're living at a time now that these conversations are a bit more common, that self-help and all of these things are much less taboo and it's really mainstream now. And that, um,
Yeah, I just, I'm thankful because I think about the older generations and I'm like, you didn't really have the resources, the permission, you know, like that was definitely frowned upon.
millennials, for all the faults that we have, I think we can take some credit for that. And that's because we're born with Pluto and Scorpio, which is we literally are Plutonian. Pluto rules Scorpio. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto. We are the epitome of Pluto. So we say, what about mental health?
What about trauma? And that's why we're called snowflakes, right? Because everyone's like, oh, boo-hoo. And we're like, but I think I could be a nicer, more capable person if I was willing to look at all this. Boomers generally were born with Pluto and Virgo, which is a trauma around perfectionism, a trauma around workaholism. And so I just, when I looked at it, it gave me such immense compassion for my parents because I was like...
We don't have the same ingredients. Literally, you and I, we were born into like this sea of people who wanted to do the same thing. All of us to varying degrees, of course, we all do want to look at the hard things. And I think that I hope that millennials get some credit for that as time goes on. And so, yeah, long story short, it's like there's just generational patterns. And that brings me some hope.
And some solace of like each of us has a thing that we're going to offer the world. We don't have to solve every crisis, but perhaps as millennials looking at the tough stuff might just be the highest manifestation of what we could do as a generation. So fascinating.
Thank you so much to all of the amazing guests we've had on Almost 30 over the years, and especially to these astrologers and teachers who were able to bestow so much wisdom on us about the Saturn return.
