Shownotes Transcript

In the first episode of the Career Building Series program, an outstanding alumina of Brenau,  Professor  Liz  Wayson  shared  her  career  dream  and  experience  with  senior English major students. “When I was a student in Brenau, the teachers here made me feel the charm of being a teacher.”  Professor  Liz  explained  why  she  wants  to  do  this  career.  She  returned  to Brenau to teach after completing her postgraduate study. Indeed, people  may choose the  career  they  want  because  of  the  influence  of  others.  However,  it  is  impossible  to keep the career going just out of loving it. She also talked about moving moments she experienced  in  the  teaching  process,  which  are  the  things  that  motivate  her  to  feel more confident about becoming a teacher.

All  things  are  difficult  before  they  begin.  After  sharing  the  happiness  of  her  career, she  mainly  discussed  the  difficulties  she  went  through  when  she  started  teaching. “Patience  is  the  most  important  quality  you  need  no  matter  where  you  are  in  your life.”  She  gave  a  useful  suggestion  to  students,  which  received  warm  applause  from students.  In  any  profession,  people  will  encounter  difficulties.  We  need  patience  to help us to break down the obstacles one by one.

At  the  end  of  the  program,  she  encouraged  senior  students  to  think  carefully  about what they want to do and pursue their career dreams bravely. Her smile and humorous words won her many praises among the students, which also received warm applause from audience.
