Kris Mendoza is one of the most beloved members of the Tough Mudder community. Kris has run World’s Toughest Mudder every year since 2014, finishing with 50 miles in his first year. In 2017 he was on the first-place relay team and in 2018 he won his first individual World’s Toughest Mudder championship. He won the race with a dramatic pass of Trevor Cichosz, the Men's Champion in 2016. Mendoza passed Cichosz less than one mile from the finish line. Mendoza’s win in 2018 was the closest, most dramatic finish in World’s Toughest Mudder history. Mendoza is also a doctor, working as a dental anesthesiologist near his training grounds in Colorado. ---
