Hello, friends, and welcome to Bedtime Stories with Mr. Jim. I was just getting ready for bed. Are you as well? Oh, good. I hope you brushed your teeth and found all of your comfy things like pillows and blankets and stuffies. Oh, yes. Oh, good. Well, as long as you have all those things ready...

then it's time for our story. But first we must close our eyes so that we can travel to an imaginary world. She floated around on papery wings as soon as the sun had set. The moonlight shone through her green fairy wings and twinkled on her clothes. See, every night she left her fairy kingdom with her wand and tiny bag

Her job was very important. All of the children knew her, even you, but no one has ever seen her as she slipped under pillows and exchanged teeth for little gifts. The Tooth Fairy was as small as a bumblebee, but as bright and quiet as a firefly.

Looking out at the night sky, you may have seen her before without even realizing it. Maybe she was dancing among the lightning bugs or chasing a shooting star. You may have mistaken her for a flash of light in the darkness, but that was alright with her. The Tooth Fairy did her best work without being seen. No one even knew the Tooth Fairy's name.

since no one had ever even spoken to her before. On this night, just like all the others before it, the Tooth Fairy left her fairy kingdom to begin her night's work. She fluttered past trees of hooting owls and waved hello to the red fox in the meadow. The animals all knew her and looked forward to her arrival again.

Even the bug-eating bats did not mistake her for food and flew along beside her for a bit. Then the tooth fairy spotted the vibrant green of a luna moth. She swooped down onto its back and caught a ride into town. She needed to save her energy for all of the homes she would be visiting.

A luna moth landed gracefully against the first window, and the tooth fairy patted the moth in thankfulness. Pointing her wand at the window, the glass at once shimmered and flowed like water within the frame. She was able to walk right through it into this little girl's bedroom.

You see, Natalie was fast asleep under her cozy comforter, her head resting on a pink fluffy pillow. The tooth fairy knew that under that pillow was something very special. It was the first tooth the little girl had ever lost. Soon, Natalie would have a strong new adult tooth in its place.

The tooth fairy fluttered to the pillow and waved her wand. A light shone from underneath as the tooth began to wiggle its way. It peeked out of the edge of the pillow and wiggled fast for a few seconds before popping right out and doing a little spin in the air. The tooth fairy reached out, plucked the tooth from the air, tucked it safely into her bag.

Tapping her wand on the pillow, glitter and coins appeared underneath. With a silent, the Tooth Fairy whispered, "'Goodnight, model,' and turned to fly back through the rippling window when she heard a small, sleepy voice respond, "'Goodnight, Tooth Fairy.'" The Tooth Fairy flew in place like a hummingbird. Wait, no child had ever spoken to her before.

This was something new. Would the little girl remember? Would she tell her friends? Did she want to be the tooth fairy's friend too? That sounded nice, she thought. The tooth fairy flew over to the little girl's pillow and took a seat. Natalie smiled and her tooth, well, her missing tooth was now on display.

She rattled off many questions, wondering how the tooth fairy did her job and what it was like to be a fairy. The tooth fairy just smiled and waited for her to finish. Then she said, "Would you like to see?" The little girl nodded enthusiastically, and the tooth fairy waved her wand in a circle around Natalie. Natalie became smaller.

and smaller until she was standing next to the tooth fairy. The Luna Moth flew in and landed beside the two of them. Natalie climbed on and the moth followed as the tooth fairy led the way through the shimmery window glass and out into the night air. Natalie thought the window looked like a waterfall. As they flew through it,

She turned around to catch a glimpse and watched it harden to glass once. Together they fluttered around from house to house, the tooth fairy on her own wings and Natalie on the Luna Moth. At the last house, the tooth fairy let Natalie borrow her wand. Natalie waved it at the little boy's pillow and the two teeth wiggled out from underneath it.

They danced around the room before floating into the tooth fairy's bag. Despite the amount of teeth that entered, the bag never grew larger. Natalie wondered if it was a direct portal to the fairy kingdom. Once the teeth were out of sight, Natalie tapped the pillow once, twice, and glitter escaped from beneath with a slight hop. But the boy slept on. After returning the wand to the tooth fairy...

Natalie climbed up onto the moth once more. They flew back through the rippling window. The night's mission now complete. She watched the sleepy homes pass by as they flew toward her own. The darkened windows made the homes look like they had their eyes closed, sleeping themselves. And soon her eyes began to do the same. Snuggled up against the fuzzy back of the moth,

Natalie began to doze. She dreamed of fairy kingdoms with gleaming white castles, green wings fluttering about, and beautiful moths who came to visit. Back through the window and into the little girl's room they flew, placing the sleeping Natalie gently down on her pillow before the tooth fairy waved her wand once more.

Natalie grew to her little girl size, still small but much larger than the fairy. The tooth fairy tapped pillow twice, and under the pillow appeared a special thank you for Natalie. Then she flew out into the night, past all the quiet homes and sleepy woods, and back to her fairy kingdom to rest. The end.

Well, my friends, as we close our eyes and drift off to sleep, may you have very sweet dreams. Good night, my friends.
