**1. Assam Irrigation Department set to sell Solar Power! - **The State Irrigation Department hopes to export surplus power to the APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd) when it will complete the first phase of PMKSY- HKKP (Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana- Har Khet Ko Pani). The Department hopes to complete the yojana's phase-I within May-June, 2020.

**2. Coronavirus: Sarbananda Sonowal constituted economic advisory panel - **Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, on Sunday, constituted an economic advisory committee as a measure to revive the economy of the State and break the stagnation brought by coronavirus pandemic. The eight-member committee led by retired IAS officer Subhash Das would study the various aspects of the State's economy and provide recommendations to bring back economic buoyancy through systematic interventions.

**3. Public shouldn't be tortured in the garb of lockdown: Gauhati High Court - **A division bench of the Gauhati High Court comprising Chief Justice Ajai Lamba and Justice Soumitra Saikia has disposed of a PIL (25/2020) filed against alleged police atrocities on people during the lockdown in the State, with a considered view and observation. Hearing the petitioner as well as the respondents, the bench said, "With the considered view that in the garb of such lockdown, surely innocent public should not be subjected to torture or inhuman treatment, particularly because at this point in time, the innocent citizens/ordinary persons are highly sensitive and emotionally volatile. Such conditions surely cannot be aggravated by inhuman treatment given by the public servants.

**4. ICC organized Webinar on impact of coronavirus on textile industry - **The Indian Chamber of Commerce organized a webinar on "The Impact of Corona Virus Outbreak on Handloom and Handicrafts of North East India and its revival strategy'', here on Saturday.

**5. MGNREGA works resumed amidst lockdown - **Assam Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) Department has started to work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

**6. NDRF, Guwahati conducts sanitization drive at Kamakhya Temple - **The personnel of 1st Battalion NDRF Guwahati under the supervision of Commandant Randhir Singh Gill carried out a sanitization drive on the premises of the Kamakhaya Temple, on Sunday. The teams sprayed out disinfectant consisting of Sodium Hypochlorite. Meanwhile, the NDRF medical team carried out thermal screening and distributed masks to needy people on the temple's premises.

**7. Assam Police collected over Rs 1.7 crore fine during lockdown - **The Assam Police on Sunday informed that it has arrested 3,823 people and collected Rs. 1,72,97,100 as fine across the State in the last 40 days for violating the lockdown norms.

**8. Evaluation of HS final copies almost complete: AHSEC - **The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has completed around 90 per cent of the evaluation process and is likely to declare the HS 2nd year results within June 25, said a source from the department.

**9. African Swine Fever: Minister Atul Bora traces origin to China - **State Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister Atul Bora said that African Swine Fever had first occurred in Xinjiang province in China adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh in April 2019, and from there it might have come to Assam via Arunachal Pradesh. The flu has been spread in 306 villages in Assam.

**10. Guwahati Municipal Corporation evicts poultry shops in city - **The Assam Police on Sunday informed that it has arrested 3,823 people and collected Rs. 1,72,97,100 as fine across the State in the last 40 days for violating the lockdown norms.
