UP police served notices to dead and elderly men in their 90s. Banne Khan from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh has been served notice for participating in anti-CAA agitations. Khan will not be able to seek bail because he is dead. UP police have been widely criticized for cracking down violently on those who participated in anti CAA agitations. Yogi Adityanath government defended police actions by saying that they are intended to shock rioters.
Jameel Ahmed Ansari who went missing six years ago during Uttarakhand floods was reunited with his family. He was traced by Uttarakhand police who found him in an old age home at Gopeshwar in Chamoli district. He had been living for the past two years as he had no money to return home.
