Got our little Friday song, and now we're in our Friday mode. Welcome, friend. No sad bro all around. Let's check the weather forecast. Today, as you can see, we have a little moisture. I don't know about you guys, but I got sick of the salt on my car, so a little bit of a bathe will be nice. Mild, too. Temperature's going to get up to about 50 degrees, but we do have some
Rain, light rain throughout the course of the day. Tomorrow, sunny, windy, cooler. High 41. Clouds on Sunday. High of about 41 as well. And then we jump back up in the temps on Monday and we'll return to mid 50s with some clouds. We're going to take a look at traffic. See what's going on so far this morning. Kathy, what do you have? We have some ramp restrictions. Northeast extension southbound. The off ramp to the Pennsylvania Turnpike. A disabled vehicle off to the shoulder. Treasure Road southbound.
between Gibraltar Road and Whitmer Road. We've got a downpour. One lane is closed. And then in Wilmington, Delaware, 295 southbound at 495. Left lane is blocked with an accident. And 495 is listed at a 55-mile-per-hour speed restriction because of the rain this morning.
This traffic report brought to you by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. They've been at the forefront of inflammatory bowel disease research and care for over 50 years. Learn more about research, education, and more at Crohn'sColitis.org. And that's your traffic on 93.3 WMMR. Hello. Hello.
Now, Preston and Steve's News Update with Kathy Romano. All right, and today is Friday, January 31st. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning. In the news this morning, following the nation's first major commercial airline crash since 2009, dive teams...
are seizing operations on the Potomac after recovering all of the bodies they are able to without moving the fuselage, according to two sources familiar with the operation. On Wednesday night, a regional American Airlines passenger jet and a Blackhawk military helicopter collided over Washington, D.C. The flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder known as Black
boxes from the American Airlines plane have been recovered and are en route to the National Transportation Safety Board lab. About 40 bodies have been recovered so far. Among them is the body of at least one of the soldiers from the Army Black Hawk helicopter. Additional bodies and human remains will need to be extracted from the wreckage once it is lifted to the surface of the river. Crews are bracing for the possibility some of the victims will not be recovered because of the fireball that resulted from the collision.
There were 60 passengers and four Charlotte-based crew members aboard the American Airlines Flight 5342, which can hold up to 70 passengers. It departed from Wichita, Kansas, according to the FAA. The water temperature in the Potomac River is approximately 36 degrees, and the air temperature at the time of the crash was 50 degrees with winds gusting 25 to 30 miles per hour.
The FAA and the NTSB will investigate the crash with the NTSB leading the investigation. Runway operations at Reagan International Airport resumed at 11 a.m. yesterday. Some passengers of the American Airlines flight have connections to the Philadelphia region. The wife of skating coach
Alexander Kirsanov of Delaware confirmed to ABC News that her husband was on the plane. Two young skaters, Sean Kay and Angela Yang, who had ties to the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club, were also among those killed, according to U.S. Senator Chris Coons.

Information is asked to call or text Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS. It's like 10 minutes that way. Is it? Yeah. Close to here. Yeah.
Tiffany Williams gave her son Jaden the gift of a kidney donation and together they were gifted with Super Bowl tickets from the NFL and Eagles. Jaden, now 11 years old, received the organ transplant from his mom in June of 2024. He is now doing well and no longer requires dialysis. The pair were invited by the Eagles to attend the game in October of 2024. Then they were invited to the NFC Championship game and brought onto the field for surgery.
a big surprise. They learned that they would be flown out to attend Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans. This is a standing promotion now? Organ donation gets you the tickets? Well, there's more. It's not just organ donation. Could you imagine though if they made that? That would be
You would see a lot of organ donations. You would see more organ donations. Some people might not have $20,000, but they have an extra kidney. Right, yeah. There, they will root for the Philadelphia Eagles as they face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ultimately, they hope to raise awareness for kidney donations and organ donations in general.
Now, the Princeton University graduate who was wounded in the New Orleans terror attack earlier this month was also surprised with tickets to the Super Bowl. Ryan Quigley, a Montgomery County native, thought he was only taking a tour of the Novocare complex this week, but the team surprised him with tickets. It's very cool. Yeah. Quigley's best friend and roommate, Tiger Beck, was among the 14 people killed in the attack. Quigley said...
We went to every home game last year, all year after every win, which obviously there were 15 of them. I told him if we make it, I promise I'm going to take you to the Super Bowl. He played football with Beckett Princeton. The friends were celebrating New Year's Eve when the suspect plowed into the crowd. Quigley is recovering after suffering several broken bones. Dozens of others were also injured and they gifted him tickets. So he will also be at the Super Bowl in sports this morning.
Balls back for the young'uns. Balls back for the young'uns. Balls back for the young'uns.
What the f*** is that?
The team sent both forwards to Calgary in a trade with the Flames. In return, the Flyers received Andre Kuzmenko and Jacob Pelletier, a 2025 second-round pick and the 2028 seventh-round pick. The Flyers are on the road on Sunday and will play the Avalanche in Colorado at 3 o'clock. The Sixers, who have won four games in a row, are at home again tonight. We'll host the Denver Nuggets. Take off. Tip-off.
And the Eagles continue to prepare for Super Bowl 59, which is next Sunday in New Orleans. Defensive end Brandon Graham is looking to make a comeback just in time for the game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Eagles opened the practice window for the veteran defensive end yesterday. Graham tore his tricep in November and announced in the locker room after the game that he would miss the remainder of the season. Graham has played the most regular season games with 206 in team history and has the third most sacks with 76.5.
And that's what I have for you this morning. All right, thank you very much, Kathy. Welcome to Friday and the launch. Let's find out who's got the bot. Bird, bird bot. Who's got the bot, bot, bot, who's got the bot? That's the wrong bird bot song. That's okay, though. This is from 2018. Is it still applicable? Well, we have an update. That one's who's got the bot. So we haven't even set the bot out yet. So we'll do that later. This is what it is. Yeah, hey.
All right, so BirdBot's going to hit the road today, shortly. So we are going to give you a heads up on when and where you need to be to maybe be the first person to grab BirdBot, get your picture with him, take him somewhere, hand him off to somebody else. That's what we're going to do. We're going to hand him around town.
Building up all kinds of awesomeness online and photos with a variety of different people showing their support for the Eagles. And we'll get this on the road to New Orleans in the very, very near future. But first, BirdBot's got a tour of Philly and the surrounding areas, Jersey, all around here. Absolutely. That is coming up. That's what we're excited for. And then following the adventures of BirdBot,
on the road from Broad Street to Bourbon Street. So outside of BirdBot, we also have... And in fact, we're going to give you your first look at BirdBot 2.0 in just a minute. We're going to go live on 6ABC with the morning news, Matt and Tam, and BirdBot is right behind me. And that's when the cameras go live. So you'll see it on TV and on YouTube in just a few minutes. 2.0! We're going to get to that at about 6.35, 6.36. That's when we try to do this. So...
Outside of that, we have a few other things taking place. Our good friend, Kate Flannery is in town. You know her from The Office and many other things. She is going to be here this morning. Aren't you feeling she's kind of like a good luck charm? Always. Considering the situation we're in right now? Yes. Absolutely, right? Yeah, so we love Kate and she'll be here in a little bit to just talk all things Kate and birds.
Bird bot. And, uh, we'll also have comedian Dusty Slade joining us. Dusty's going to be performing at the Miller theater tomorrow night. Uh, so he's going to check in with us in the eight o'clock hour. And that's when we're hoping to launch bird bot is in the eight o'clock hour as well. So, uh,
We want to thank our friends at phillysportstrips.com because they're getting behind us and supporting and sponsoring BirdBot and a few other things. We have the Bleed for the Birds Free Eagles Tattoos, which is taking place next Tuesday. You can get signed up at PrestonAndSteve.com. And we're also going to do something next week. All week long, we are doing our Pep Rally concert series. We are going to have celebrity friends and musicians performing the Eagles fight song to get us hyped up for the big day.

All right. Thank you very much, Kath. I'll go ahead and ask the stupid question. We are going to give away a pair of tickets to see comedian Dustin Slay. He's going to be joining us later this morning. The show is tomorrow night at the Miller Theater. The question that I...
I pose to you is the scientific unit named for Sir Isaac Newton measures what specifically? 215263 WMMR. The scientific unit named for Sir Isaac Newton measures what? 215263 WMMR is the number. What's the answer?
I'm not going to tell you. Oh, damn it. We got to have the call. No, it's cheating. Oh, yeah. All right. My bad. All right. I'm looking for Marissa because she is my visual cue as to when we're going on 6 ABC. 6 ABC.
638 and a half. Oh, 638 and a half. We have a couple of minutes. All right. Okay, all right. I'll go through the birthdays then, and we will await our cue to do that. And by the way, when we go on 6ABC, this will be your first chance to see BirdBot 2.0, which is right behind me. It is on our YouTube stream right now, if you want to see that, but we will be showing it to the entire audience.
6 ABC listening audience as well as viewing audience in just a little bit. All right, some birthdays today on the 31st day of January include Minnie Driver. Minnie. She turns 55 years old today. Casey, you dislike her, yes? Here's the thing. I loved her in gross point blank where she had an American accent.
Didn't care for her as much in Good Will Hunting when she had her actual accent. Her English accent. So you prefer she not have her actual accent. Don't you love when she tells that joke in the bar? He loves that for the worst part. He hates that. That is almost as cringy as when Skylar sings Happy Birthday like Marilyn Monroe in Breaking Bad. Those are like two of the most on-screen cringiest moments for me. That was earth-shattering. I love ya. Oh my God. Minnie is 55 today.
Anthony LaPaglia from, I like that guy. He's great. He's great in So I Married an Axe Murderer. We mention that every year. I wish he had done more stuff like that. You also know him from Merce's favorite movie, Empire Records. That's right. And he's without a trace, the show that was successful for him. He's 66 today. He's an Aussie, is he not? Oh,
I don't know. I believe he is. Really? Yeah. Steve, I didn't know that just like we're talking about accents because the accent that he did in So I Married an Axe Murderer, not at all Australian. Wow. Kelly Lynch. You remember her from both Roadhouse and she was in Cocktail as well, wasn't she? Shh.
I don't think she was. She was in Drugstore Cowboys with Matt Dillon. Maybe she was, Preston. I think she's the girlfriend of the older Australian guy that he's friends with at the end. But anyway, she is 66. I saw an interesting thing about Cocktail yesterday. Apparently Tom Cruise on set saved...
Elizabeth Shue's life. From a swizzle stick. No, she was about to run into the back of a helicopter rotor. She didn't know that it was going. And she was apparently looking at some scenes or whatever that they had just shot and was running. And he tackled her before she got clipped by the rotor. And yeah, she was in that movie. Kelly Lynch was. So she is 66 years old today.
Bobby Moynihan from SNL turns 48 years old today. The lovely Portia DeRosi. Man, she is stunning. Scandal, Arrested Development. She was great on Arrested Development. Her character was properly sociopathic and she's got real comedic jobs. She turns 52 years old today. All right, Marissa, what's the latest? We have what? One minute? One minute.
One minute. Okay. Patricia Velasquez, she was also in Arrested Development. She's 55 today. Kerry Washington turns 48. Super talented. Telling Steve, you know, she was in Ray, Scandal, a bunch of stuff. I just saw her in this movie, 6888. It's on Netflix. It's a great story. It's a true story. The movie gets a little corny. Right. It's supposed to tug at the heartstrings. They really go for that. But Kerry Washington, she plays a military...
and she...
also is kind of like a drill instructor type, and she pulls it off well. I was surprised at how good she was at playing that type of really authoritative role. She's great. She's actually also one of the best, I think, guest hosts of SNL ever. She had a killer episode. Here we go, 10 seconds. Let's check in with these guys. ...the playoff slogan yesterday. Players can see the banner on their way to practice before they head to New Orleans.
For more on the Eagles' excitement, let's bring in Preston and Steve from WMMR. Good morning. Good morning, guys. How you doing? We're on mission this morning. We hear you have a BirdBot. Yes. We hear you're going to deploy. We just want to make sure it's safe. We have taken all the safety precautions for BirdBot. This is BirdBot. You can see him over my shoulder. BirdBot 2.0. We even have a really cool jingle. I'll play you a jingle.
Bird Bot is going to hit the road this morning. And guys, what we're going to do is we're going to take him to an undisclosed location. We're going to reveal it in a little while. And we will hand it off to a complete stranger. And then Bird Bot is in the hands of the Eagles fans. We'll circulate around town. People take pictures. We'll be posting these on our Instagram and other social media accounts. And we'll be doing a little bit of a show.
And as we did with BirdBot in 2018, of which we had a victory, mind you, people adorned it with all kinds of stickers from their businesses and establishments and charities and things like that. And then, some point next week, BirdBot hopefully will be taken in the capable hands of someone who is driving to New Orleans for the game. Okay. And then spend some time cruising around and hanging on Bourbon Street. That's the plan. That's the plan. Yes, that's the plan. We'll see if it happens. It happened last time.
A couple of questions. Did you teach BirdBot to fight? Because we don't know which Bird's fans he's going to run into. And are you saying he's the secret sauce to a Super Bowl win?
I'm just saying that it's game proven. BirdBot is game proven from 2018. Absolutely. Casey on the show is the biggest expert when it comes to superstition, what you can and cannot do, what is game tested and what is not game tested. And he has given this the complete thumbs up. Correct, Casey? Yeah. And also, BirdBot, I mean, listen, we know an eagle is a hunting animal. But BirdBot is a bird of peace. Yes. And so you don't have to worry about fights.
There you go. We have to make that sure for everyone. It's great to see Casey, by the way. Hey, Casey boy. One more thing about what are the odds of BirdBot actually making it to New Orleans or ending up somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean? So it can go either way. That's why we're calling upon a sea of good weather.
will and a sea of Philadelphia Eagle fandom to be the relay, a conduit to get him where he needs to go. Birdbot, the first Birdbot made it to Minneapolis. He did end up in jail at one point. He was in a jail. I kid you not. But made it back in kind of one piece. We had to tape him back together, but yeah.
I predict there will be a picture of BirdBot with a yingling in one hand and a hurricane in the other. We love that. Yes. Absolutely. And we have a little cup here if you want to have a drink with BirdBot. All right. That's very exciting. Have a great weekend, guys. You too. Go birds and go BirdBot. Yes. Thank you, guys. All right. We'll see you later.
All right, I got to put Bird Bot back. Yep, yep, yep. He's kind of heavy. Bird Bot carries a little bit more bulk this time. That's because he has a self-defense system. We can't really reveal what it is. But Preston, on your person, you have a kill switch in case it accidentally... Yeah.
So we got it. He is actually also holding a couple of geolocation methods. Yes. You will always know where BirdBot is. By the way, we should have a way that it triggers. You have 30 seconds to comply. I love it.
I also want to, I just want to bring up the fact that BirdBot 1.0 and 2.0 were, was constructed by Greg Monahan. Yes. We worked with Greg for the longest time. And that guy is kind of like for hire for anything you want to construct. I mean, this dude built a tiki bar in his backyard. Like this guy. He's amazing. Build and does build anything. And by the way, we're throwing last minute things at him right up. I mean, I picked this thing up at nine o'clock last night and he. Wow.
He was adding things and we would, could you put this on? Could you put this on? I'm a big fan of BirdBot's feet, his talons. Yeah, it looks really good. Hey, also, I have faith he's going to make it there. You guys had a little doubt. No way. No way. Our listeners are going to get him there. Yeah, I don't think Matt and Tam know, you know, the positive vibes that come from BirdBot. Like people are excited to get their hands on BirdBot. So it's not like HitchBot.
No. In fact, we have a proven record. This was a response to Hitchpot to prove that it could happen, and it did the first go-round. By the way, I looked up a little history on Hitchpot this morning because I had forgotten the details of it. It was 2013 when Hitchpot was out on the road initially and inspired us. Oh.
Wait, what was Hitchpot? So Hitchpot was this Canadian group was doing a social experiment and they created something like this. And they set it on the road. And the goal was to go from Boston to San Francisco. It made it to Philly. And that was it. It was torn apart. And I read on the Wikipedia page, the head has still not been found. The head is still missing. So yeah.
But that was a lot bigger than ours and more cumbersome and difficult to move around. We've got a better contraption. You're exactly right. And then the Pope was making his visit, Kathy, and that's when Pope Bot was released. And that actually did very well. But Bird Bot 1.0, a huge success. So we're looking for the same for Bird Bot 2.0. Yep. All right. So that's going to start in, well, in the next hour. All right. So birthdays. I got a couple more real quick. Turning 74 years old today is Harry Wayne Smith.
KC from KC and the Sunshine Band. We don't have, I'm going to turn this one off, but we don't have the song in the system. And I wanted to play this because every single time I hear the beginning of the song, I think of one thing and one thing only, Preston. I want to see if you know what I'm thinking of. Hit it. Wow. Yeah. Man, oh man, oh man. It's from a movie. No, it's from you. Oh, it's from me.
Oh, was this our original music for The Noticer or something like that? What was it? It was the music for the Polyesters commercial that you voiced when we were at Y100. Oh, no, I don't remember that at all. Yeah, I wish we had the audio of it because you'd be like...
Ladies and gentlemen, and it was your voiceover. For polyesters? And polyesters doesn't exist anymore. Was it a commercial? It was a commercial that we played on the radio. I love polyesters. Dude, right? Wow. All right. Well, that brings a few people back. Yeah. All right. A couple more quick birthdays. The Sex Pistols, Johnny Rotten, John Ligon. All right.
He turns 69 years old today. Happy birthday, Jerry. I think he's got a talk show. Does he really? I believe so, yeah. It's also Marcus Mumford's birthday today. Marcus Mumford is 38 and Mumford & Sons, I believe, new album this year. Yes. First time in a long time and he's been musical coordinator for shows like Ted Lasso and other shows. He's got a good knack for that. Speaking of Ted Lasso...
This is the song that brings us into the entire series. This is the very, very first song. No kidding. Yeah. When they end up at, I forget the name of the football club. Nice little, well, I almost said Wrexham because we had Rob on yesterday. Oh, man. You know. Yeah. Come on. Richmond? Richmond AFC. All right. Anyhow. Marcus Mumford, 38. Justin Timberlake, 32.
Turns 44 years old today. Had a little run in with the law recently. A little bit. A little DUI. A little drinky poop. Just a little DUI. And the last birthday is the great Nolan Ryan that turns a year older. He is 78 years old. And he set league records by striking up 5,714 batters. That was one game.
Insane. I think he had three no-hitters after the age of 40. Yeah, that's what blew me away. It's pretty amazing. All right, we'll see if you know the answer to this. All right, the unit of measure named after Sir Isaac Newton measures what? 215263 WMMR. We got Patrick online. Hi, Patrick.
Ready? Okay. Oh, my God. Dude, we were just talking off air. Casey wants people to call up and do cheers for the Eagles. I love that as a new call and response for us. I don't have any more, though. I don't have enough so far. Wait, Patrick, you got to say ready, and then you just got to give a pause so we can all say okay together. Okay, let's do it. Go for it, Patrick.
Ready? Okay. Yes. Dude, I know. We created another one. All right, Patrick, what is the answer? The Newton is for a unit of what? Force. Force, yes. Hang on, Patrick. We'll give you a pair of tickets, Juicy Dusty Slay, the Night Ship Tour, Saturday, tomorrow, 7 p.m., Miller Theater, and tickets are on sale now via Ensemble Arts.
Philly.org. All right, we ate up a lot of time there. We're getting killed here. A couple things to get to. Ben Affleck joined the growing list of Hollywood notables doing their part in the aftermath of the L.A. wildfires. He was seen volunteering at a homeless encampment earlier this week. It's unclear what kind of charitable work he was doing, but every bit helps, and thousands are rendered homeless as the blaze had destroyed over 16,000 structures.
at last settlement. And there's been, there's been a lot of people that have stepped up and not looked for press and just gone out and just, uh, you know, and help out, especially when the firefighters were really working hard, like Jay Leno came out and, and so did, um, uh,
Dave Grohl and a bunch of other people just helping. Yeah. I was talking to my cousin on Wednesday that my family that lost the house in the Palisades and her husband, Pete, I was talking to him and he said, you would not believe the amount of debris that needs to be cleaned up and it not just their house, not just their neighborhood everywhere all over the Palisades. It's just an insane amount of stuff that burnt that they need to, they need to get rid of. Yeah. Yeah.
So just three weeks after the world learned that Kaya Gerber and Austin Butler's three-year-long relationship was over. Nothing's over! It seems she may be ready to get back into the ring. There's another boxing reference. Ding, ding. Sooner rather than later, the model is seen hanging out with Lewis Pullman. Oh, okay.
Unbelievable. I know. At the Los Angeles restaurant Salazar on his birthday. This is amazing. Sources tell People Magazine that the two have been spending time together the last couple of weeks. And according to witnesses, the two dined together. And at one point, one point. Okay, all right. Gerber was photographed.
holding on to Lewis's arm. His unit. No. Arm. Well, it's the size of a baby. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where were they? What city? They were in L.A. L.A., okay. Restaurant called Salazar. Okay, who's Kai Gerber again? Kai Gerber is the daughter of Cindy Crawford. Oh, okay. All right. Uh,
And now, and Lewis Pullman, this guy is an actor. Oh, I know him. Yeah, if you watch Lessons in Chemistry. Yeah. He's been in a bunch of stuff. In fact, he's popping up more and more often now. I thought he was a little bit older. No official word from either of their reps at this point about what is going on. I'm just, it's tearing me up. Yep. There is a new Captain America and MCU fans are going to just have to get used to it in a new Esquire profile on Anthony Mackie, who's
Taking the baton, and we love Anthony Mackie and Shield, of course, from Chris Evans for Captain America Brave New World. Evans shut down rumors that he would be once again appearing as Steve Rogers' Captain America in the upcoming Avengers Doomsday set to come out next year. He said, that's not true.
And he explained that similar stories, he said, have happened. They happen every couple of years since he last played the character in 2019's Avengers Endgame. He said, and I've just stopped responding to it. And then he added, yeah, no, happily retired. Of course, money always can get them back, though. He did come back in a surprise appearance, Deadpool and Wolverine. But that was seemingly a one off. So but he says, nope, no more. He's done with that role.
Reese Witherspoon just revealed the surprising inspiration behind the new Legally Blonde prequel series. She said on the Tonight Show, I saw that Wednesday Adam show, you know, and I was like, oh. And just like that, the idea for the prequel Elle was born. She said that she wanted to explore who Elle Woods was before college, before law school, and Amazon jumped on board to bring the high school version of Elle to life. Back in September, she kicked off a nationwide casting call posting on Instagram that
The search for the high school version of Elle Woods is officially on. And that's not all. Witherspoon is also set to reprise the iconic role in Legally Blonde 3 with Mindy Kaling writing the script for that. Okay, if Mindy Kaling's doing it, it could be pretty good. They were fun movies. The first one was a little bit better. Junk food movies, you know. I liked the first one. I thought the first movie was great.
So, yeah, and obviously very, very successful. So speaking of Mindy Kaling, I had another story about something that she was working on. Was it that basketball show? It might have been. Kate Hudson? Kate Hudson, yeah. So Netflix dropped a trailer for it. It's called Running Point.
And Hudson leads the star-studded cast as a newly appointed basketball team president who has to prove the men around her that she's the woman for the job. And the series comes from Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stazin, who made The Mindy Project together. And the show is Kaling's latest production after the ongoing success of her Mac show, The Sex Lives of College Girls.
The sports comedy, we'll see Brenda Song. You remember her as London from Suite Life on Deck? Yep. And she's married to Macaulay Culkin. That is correct. Known for the social network as well as she'll be Hudson's loyal sidekick. Drew Tarver from the other two and the mix Scott MacArthur.
as her senseless brother, among others, rounding out the cast. Running Point is set to stream February 27th on Netflix. I'm friendly with a writer who lives and works in Los Angeles, and he's worked with Vince Vaughn a number of times over the years, so he's got some cred. And he says that he pitched this exact same idea with this exact same actress to Netflix several years ago. They turned it down, and now it's being made. Lawsuit. Yeah. So he's like, we are sending lawyers over. Wow.
I mean, this almost is like her mom, Goldie Hawn in Wildcats, right? Very similar. You know, coaching all boys or all young men or whatever. But also, the emphasis should be on point. It should be running point, not running point. Because I think it's like you're running point, like point guard. Who do we talk to? Talk to me. I'm your guy. I'm a basketball coach. I know these things. I'm your guy. Yeah. We got a guy. We got a guy. I got a guy. I'm a basketball terminology guy. Yeah.
Netflix, being of them, has revealed a ton of their upcoming projects for 2025 and even confirmed when you can expect a bunch of them to actually premiere on the streaming service. So they have confirmed that Stranger Things and Wednesday are both coming back this year but did not confirm a premiere date for those. But they did.
They did confirm that the third season of Squid Game will be coming out sooner than you might think. That's set for June 27th. That's pretty quick. Other series that are expected this year include Black Mirror, Emily in Paris...
The Vince Staples Show, Cobra Kai. And I mean, like, I looked at the list. I was going to try to go through it, but there's too much. There's a lot of stuff that they have gone ahead and revealed. So that's good news. Now, speaking of Stranger Things, they've teased the fifth and final season. And there's going to be plenty of mystery in a new teaser for the show. Eleven, a.k.a. Jane Hopper, sometimes appears to have gone missing for a year.
And a missing poster says that she was last seen on June 13th, 1986. And Netflix previously confirmed that the show would pick up in the fall of 1987, about a year before the date listed on the new poster. That'll help them age a little bit. Yes. You know, since it started a decade ago. Yeah, right, right, right. But the mystery doesn't end there. Netflix asks an important question in the poster, uploaded to Instagram, and they said, who's really looking for Jane Hopper?
So season five of Stranger Things is set to premiere on Netflix at some point this year. So the word is from people associated with the production that it is going to go out strong, knowing what the plot line is. So I'm excited. It needs to go out in a big way. Yeah, and hang on.
I love this part. Oh, man. Damn it. At the end, it goes... One more time. But they have said that the episodes are... Like, each one or most of them are going to be, like, feature film length. Like movies, yeah. Yeah. I have no problem with that. Hour, hour and a half, something in that range.
Saturday Night Live is rocking out. Celebrate 50 years. And the comedy institution, also known for featuring a wide range of musical acts through the years, is set to air SNL 50, the homecoming concert, live on Peacock and features a tons of musical talent. So...
Here's a few of them.
The event will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon, and it will air on Peacock on February 14th, so on Valentine's Day, 8 p.m., so that should be pretty intense. I remember at the beginning when you'd basically have a quasi-unplugged situation. You'd have bands stripped down, and now they put on Preston full-blown music.
productions with special effects and the dancers and all this stuff. Yeah. And this kind of thing. One of the wildest things, speaking of putting on productions, I know we've talked about this before, but I remember as a kid watching Saturday Night Live and going,
What am I looking at? That happened a couple times. One was the B-52s. First time I saw them, I'm like, what the F is this? And then Bowie came on one time and they did this green screen effect with his body where they replaced his body with a puppet's body. And it was at the time like you'd never seen anything like that. And I'm like,
I couldn't wrap my mind around it. Like, what is happening here? Look it up on YouTube sometime. It is very, very weird. But it was like, number one, it was Bowie being avant-garde. Yes. And it was SNL being the cutting edge of the time. We're watching, this is from a different song during that exact same broadcast. He had these really strange backup singers. Do you know who he's performing? Uh-oh. The Trinkenstein. Trinkenstein. And they called it.
Frankenstein. Okay, Casey, look over here. This is it. Dude, that's amazing. I love that. Isn't that wild? Yeah.
It took a lot of work to achieve that effect at the time. Absolutely. And I'm like, how are they doing this? I couldn't figure it out. So, yeah, dude, they've been the cutting edge doing some weird stuff for a long time. Yeah, we're watching the video. But imagine seeing this. I'm like 10 years old. Yeah, you'd freak out. I had no idea what was happening. I'd like to see them do the evening news like this. David Muir. Yeah.
Yeah, if you get a chance, search that at some point. All right, so moving on. The long-awaited sequel to Romy and Michelle's high school reunion is a go with both the main stars on board. Simultaneously thrilled and nervous because I love the first movie so much and I hope they don't F it up. Mira Sorvino posted the story from the Hollywood Reporter about the sequel on Instagram, captioning it, saying, we're both pretty excited about it.
The original 1997 comedy starring Sorvino as Romy White and Lisa Kudrow as Michelle Weidenberger made $29 million at the U.S. box office but has continued to be a fan favorite ever since. Not only are the two leads returning, Robin Schiff, who wrote the original film, is back to write the screenplay for the new movie. And filming is expected to start in June for that.
A remake, speaking of that, that's a sequel, but this is a remake of the 1998 sci-fi thriller The Faculty. Yes. Is in the works. I'm a big fan of The Faculty. Robert Rodriguez was the director. Is he coming back? He will produce the reboot. Okay. So the cult hit about a news editor witnessing a murder only for the victim to appear very much alive. Made $68 million at the box office and gained a cult following ever since. Okay.
No casting news or premiere dates have been released at this point. Who was in that? Jon Stewart. Elijah Wood. Elijah Wood, yeah. And Bebe Neuwirth. That's right. I remember her. She was the principal in that. Okay. I saw this really cool story last night just surfing through YouTube. Elijah Wood was just starting to get some notoriety because of this movie, because of the faculty. And he was open to the casting call or invited to the casting call for Lord of the Rings.
And he filmed his own audition dressed as Frodo. And the only reason that he got in the first place was because Peter Jackson liked his role in The Faculty. Oh, no kidding. Yeah. Okay. I saw that movie. It was pretty good. It's a killer.
Oh, my God. You don't see stuff like that in the Shire, do you? Never. Never. Yeah.
You like baby North Gandalf? I love her. Yes. From Cheers and occasionally Frasier. That is right. What was her name? Lilith. Thank you, Gandalf, for checking in this morning. No problem. I like Kirstie Alley. She was good. And John Ratzenberger. They were great. Everyone knew your name. Norm!
Gandalf! My dogs are barking, Cliffy. It's a dog-eat-dog world. You're wearing milk bone on the head. Nice job, Gandalf. Can you imagine if it was Gandalf at the bar?
I'll have a seven in seven. Gandalf! Gandalf! Okay. One more quick story and then we'll move on to our audio. As Sauron said, I have my eye on you. All right.
Netflix is reimagining Judy Blume's groundbreaking 1975 novel Forever as a new series. Forever. When I was a kid, that was the book that teenage girls carried around. So when I was working, again, I don't mean to brag, a beat-up bookstore in Bayshore, Long Island, I was working on a book called
That was the Judy Blume explosion. And there was word one time she was going to come to the store for a signing, but it didn't come through. It didn't happen. Oh, my God. So, Lovey Simone and Michael Cooper Jr. star as Keisha Clark and Justin Edwards, who travel through their teens together with Los Angeles in 2018, serving as the backdrop. So, making that into a show. It will premiere later on. She's a... Are you there in...
Are you there? It's me. Margaret, dear, wait, no. Oh. And did she do Tiger Eyes or? I don't know. She did a couple of like ones that were just constantly selling. I know the name, but I don't know the titles that she. Two Girls and a Cup, is that her? No, that she was her. I saw that. Are you there, God? It's me, Margaret. Yeah, that's it. Yeah.
They're not going to eat that. Oh, no, no. Oh, my God. Gandalf's watching it in a crystal ball. Reaction videos. All right, let's see this. Oh, no. Oh, no, turn it off.
That was just in her butt. Oh, my God. It's dirty. Oh, my God. Put that down. Wow. Dirty and squishy. Kathy, you're about to comment. I was going to comment on an author. Yes, that was like a huge deal. But when you said like how excited people got. So I actually met an author that I love. And it was like... Of Young Fiction? No, no, no, no, no.
Now, Ellen Hildebrand, she writes all these books about Nance Huckett and she is originally from Oaks, Pennsylvania and she references Philadelphia in most of her books. Anyway, when I met her, I was like, I was like, hi. And she was like, oh yeah, she's like, hey Kathy. I was like,
She was normal. But she knew who I was. She remembered who I was. And I was like, oh, oh my God, this is amazing. There is something. When you meet an author, Preston, were you to meet Stephen King? That'd be, I'd be super nervous. So when you meet, so for me it was, and I never got to meet him, but Richard Matheson and a gentleman, a listener of the show met him.
and got a book signed. But I think there's just something about an author that you love that I think transcends almost any other kind of fandom. You know what I'm saying? Well, that's what I was going to say. Even like meeting, you know, a director of a movie that you love, you know, it's,
similar, or at least for me, it was similar. They gave you joy, yeah. On a very visceral, tangible level. And talking to her about the book like we do when people come in here talking to them about their movie was exciting. And Kathy, you're like, how did all that stuff come out of your head? Yeah. How do you write those things? Look, this is on my phone. Watch this. It's going to make you puke. Okay, we have to move on. We got to talk about movies that are opening. We got Bird Bot to get to here. All right, here we go.
Don't touch! Don't touch!

and Fetch, Sit and Roll Over. It's an hour and 29 minutes long rated PG. Wide theater relays. Gives a 76% score. This book series is probably the most popular among kids on the planet right now. Oh, is it? Really? There are, I don't know, 20, 25 of them or whatever. My nephews are 9 and 11. They just can't read enough of them. Dog Man. Dog Man. I think Jace had all of them, at least the ones that were out when he was at that age. The movie was the first I'd ever heard of him. Then we have Scream Boat.
Horror comedy stars Alison Patel, Amy Schumacher, and Jesse Posey. A late-night boat ride in New York City becomes a struggle for survival when a seemingly harmless mouse transforms into a dangerous monster. Passengers must fight to stay alive.
Hour and 26 minutes long. Rated R. Limited theater release and no score was posted. Do you know that movie came about, Preston? That's when the licensing for Steamboat Willie became available. Oh, that's one of those. This is one of those. Got it. Like they did with the Winnie the Pooh thing. Screenboat. But they're not making direct reference to it, but Screenboat is Steamboat Willie. Got it. We're ready for the clips now.
Owen Hendricks and Yang Kui, J-A-N-G-K-Y-U is the name. I'm not familiar with the actor. Caillou, thank you. Yang Caillou are rival characters in The Recruit. Owens is played by Noah Centineo. And here, he talks about his rival's character shift. He kind of confesses his reasoning.
You know, he shows his cards to Owen. He says, this is why I'm doing what I'm doing. And like you said, that is the propulsive element that takes us through the end of the season. And so their dynamic is there's quite an up and down to it. The Recruit season two now on Netflix. Here's our next clip.
The prequel series Dexter Original Sin reveals important characters in Dexter Morgan's early life that shaped the student turned serial killer. Reno Wilson plays Dexter's godfather and in this clip he describes their
You never saw it in the original OG Dexter because he didn't have like an uncle or somebody who knew him when he was a little boy. And that's me. I knew him. And I love him. You know, Bobby loves him. So I think that's a really important relationship that didn't exist in the original show that we're getting to see now. Shut the f*** up.
New episodes of Dexter Original Sin are streaming on Paramount+. There you go. That is your entertainment report. Looking out in the Acme Lounge, I see Marissa talking to somebody. I'm assuming that's Kate Flannery. It is. All right. She's going to be popping in here in just a moment. And after we get Kate in and get settled and everything, we are sending Nick out on the road. And he is not going alone. We are going to send him with a little friend called...

And she kind of brings good vibes and good, you know. Don't you feel it? Good luck. Absolutely. Ladies and gentlemen, you know her from The Office and many other things. Please welcome Philadelphia's own Kate Flannery. What's up, MMR?
How you guys doing? We good. Go, Eagles. Go, boys. Yeah, she is adorned in Eagles paraphernalia this morning. I am. It's the first place I can actually breathe and not get arrested, you know. I think there's a restraining order against me for the team, but that's okay. I assume you're a passionate advocate for the Eagles wherever you are. I am. I am. I mean...
Truth be told, I'm a bigger Phillies fan. I'm more invested. Okay. Because it's the grind. But I love these guys. No, but come on. Yeah. Come on, birds. And also, like, what a team this year. What a vibe. Like...
Like how well earned? I mean, gee, they've earned every yard. You're exactly right. Every inch. That's what she said. If you're watching us on our YouTube channel, you'll see a guest sitting next to Kate. That is BirdBot 2.0. I was not told about this guest, but that's okay. I approve, sort of.
We're going to be sending BirdBot out on the road here in just a few minutes. Nick, when are you leaving? Like during this interview? I was figuring you'd say get the hell out of here. So whenever you want me to go, I'll go. All right. We will do it. But we got a few things to mention as well. And Kate is going to help us kick off our pep rally concert series. Yes. That we're doing here on the program. Fantastic. And she is actually... We're getting celebrities, musicians, local flavor, people to sing the Eagles Fight song. And, you know, just...
Bring them more of that excitement. So that's going to happen in just a moment. Should we do that and then send Nick away? Yeah, let's do that. It seems like a proper bit of protocol here to start with the song, send him out on his sojourn, and then, Kate, he will pass it off, pass BirdBot 2.0 online.
on its journey. Yep. I'm honored. I'm honored to trip you up on the beginning of your journey. And I will say, all my Masked Singer experience from this last season really helped. Bird Bot was going to fly. I had high expectations. It's so aerodynamic. Bird Bot has a sturdy build to it, but we have to take care of Bird Bot. I'm sorry, Bird Bot. I thought we were getting high. Not only touring Philadelphia, then hitting the road and ending up on Bourbon Street and spending a couple days there at the Super Bowl. But BirdBot needs to make it back here, too. That is because BirdBot 1 did. Yeah.

In the acting industry, though, if that's your line of work, you're essentially going job to job. Totally. Unless you land this TV deal that the show is a huge hit and it's not going anywhere like Law & Order or something like that. Right, if it's already established. But anything that's just starting, especially now, you don't know. And a lot of these Netflix shows have very short runs. Well, let me ask you. I just saw you on Night Court.
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. I did a night court. That was so fun. And they're an ensemble show. They are great. They're so great. I gotta tell you, it was so great to work with Larry Kidd and Wendy Malick and Michelle Rush from Big Bang. They're a really good group of people. Yes, that was like a really nice surprise. Yeah. And actually there was... You were on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Yeah, I was on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And I was going to say, there was a girl from Villa Maria who I'm actually related to. She's my cousin's cousin's daughter. She was the production coordinator on Night Court. Katie. She's great. She was great. So I was like, hey, Philly. Yeah. And Dan, the showrunner for Night Court is a huge Eagles fan. He's at Philadelphia. Oh, wow. I think he's like... I think he's...

Bagels. Everything bagel? Was there a guy named... Kate, Kate, you're missing the signals. Kathy's your daughter. What? Mommy! Honey, I'm sorry. I was drinking. She's trying to let you know. No, I was also going to tell you, I'm also on another show. I recur a little bit on Universal Basic Guys, which is a Sunday night show on Fox. That show, those guys are local. Yes. That show... That's awesome. I didn't realize you were part of that show. Those guys are really good. And I have mentioned on the show here a number of times, they do that, you know, Animation Nation thing on Sunday night or Domination. Right, right, right. And a lot of shows just don't work. This one works. It's awesome.
I'm so excited for them because when we did the pilot, I was like, good luck, guys. Maybe it'll end up in somebody's pile of old pilots. And they're on Sunday nights on Fox. Yeah. Like with The Simpsons. That's crazy. It's a solid show. If you see it, come on after The Simpsons. Watch it. And not only that, it's...
Totally Philly. Totally Philly, yes. And the more Philly, the better. So you guys will be able to translate. I always feel like there should be a little subtitle sometimes for all the people. There it is. Universal Basic, guys. It's a well-written show. It's beautiful, huh? Are you reoccurring? Reoccurring, yes. I've done a couple of characters. I'm like a waitress, I'm Mary. Just listen, guys. Pay attention. I'm watching the show. I didn't pick you out. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
What an actress. Oh, yeah, hon. Years of research for the porn. Very, very long time, hon. Lots of drinking, just in case. Do you still have to audition? Sometimes, yeah. I do. Which is why, like, I can't drink as much as I'd like. I'm like, literally, I'm like, oh, sometimes I'm like, oh, we can't go out. I gotta, I gotta audition tomorrow. And again, kids, it's like, it's not a punishment. It's just like, you know, slap yourself up. And, you know, it,
I am so lucky because, I mean, I have way more famous friends and they get asked to do stuff all the time. But sometimes it's a lot of pressure when you get an offer and you're like, this is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Or like, I don't even know if... How do you want me to do this? Because at least when you audition, you give it a shot first. So you have something in your head before you go. So you're saying it can be difficult sometimes if you're asked by a friend to be a part of something that you're like... It's a champagne problem. Yeah, it is a champagne problem, but it is a problem nonetheless. Let me ask, because, Press, you were talking about...
Sammy Hagar talking about being a singer in a band. I thought it was you who was saying whenever you sing in front of people, you're embarrassed. Oh, that was Joe Satriani. Joe Satriani. We were talking to him the other day. I get it. I get it. Because when you have the microphone and the sound system, it's a whole different thing. Listen, I acted a little bit in high school. I know you went to O'Hara. Your shows were better than our shows at Cal. I know, Katie. I know. The 80s, my bad.
My tears. Go ahead. We did this acting workshop thing at the University of the Arts. My alma mater that doesn't exist anymore. It doesn't. But there was this one workshop where we had to sing the word please, right? And we had to mean it and all that sort of stuff. And I think there was like maybe 12 people in this workshop and five people went before me. And people were like, please, please.
Please. Right. And so I was like, these people aren't going for it. So I really went for it. And I and I went to my knees and I was like, please. And I was so embarrassed because it wasn't.
receipt, you know, because I don't know, but like I went for it. You know what I mean? No, no, no. I totally get it. It happens to me every day of my life, dude. This happened. I was like, what? 16 years? I'm going to be 50 and I'm still embarrassed to buy that. You know what I mean? God bless you, Casey. So when you do... You're absolved of your sins. You did great. When you do go for it like that and it doesn't, you know, it doesn't hit the way you wanted it to, do you feel regret or embarrassment like Casey has? Sometimes, but I feel like damned if you do and damned if you don't. Yeah, yeah. Literally, like you're going to be
Sometimes I'm going to beat myself up either way. So I might as well go for it. One of the great stories is Danny DeVito's story when he was auditioning for Taxi. He went in and before he's like, for Louis De Palma, he says, I'm just going to go for it. So he walks in with the script in character and he goes, who wrote this S? And he's like sweating bullets because I'm like, either I get it and they loved it. So, but...
And we were talking about La La Land, I think, has one of the best, at least from my understanding, not having gone through the process, but from other actors and actresses I've heard. And those audition scenes are soul crushing. Yeah, they're right on. Yeah, yeah. But, you know. Do you know, do you think more often than not, do you know immediately if you've got it?
You know, the office I found out the same day, but I did not know immediately. I had to wait until I got home to find out. But yeah. I would imagine the crappy thing about going to a bunch of auditions is the amount of time that it sucks out of your day when you're trying to do other things. Yeah, that's true. I mean, like, it's LA. You got to drive. Dude, I always had my uniform in the back of my car because I was like, you could be at any time you'd have to just like go right to work. And I could never say I was late for an audition or that I had a job because I worked with Billy Crystal's daughter, Jennifer, and she was like,
She said she got a TV movie and she had to cover a shift the next day and she couldn't find anybody. And they fired her because she couldn't cover a shift. And I was like, oh, note to self. So whenever I see her, I occasionally see her with her dad at like a premiere or something. And again, there's a restraining order, so I don't get too close. But I'm like, you took one for the team because after that, I was never...
I never had a job and I never had an audition as far as they were concerned. I always said I was sick or I had car trouble and I'm running late. Always. Sorry. Well, we just had an actress in here who's in the new Dennis Leary series. And she was talking about she was actually working her way up on the production side of things. But her boss said to her, listen, if you're going to go out on auditions, you can't have a job like this. Get
get a job waitressing. And that's why, and it clicked in my mind, I was like, that's why there's so many actors and actresses waiting tables. Yes, and you can pick up more shifts if you need to and you can usually get rid of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kate, I'm looking at your social media, I'm looking at your Instagram account. There's a picture of you standing as the eye in a large bar
these large block letters that say birds and your hands are up like this. You know what I'm talking about? Where was that? Okay, that was at the practice field at Lincoln because five years ago, right before COVID, the world shut down, I did a little digital campaign for Crown Royal Apple.
Yes. So it was sponsored by the Eagles. And that was my last connection to the Eagles. So even if I just like, if you guys know anybody, I don't need to go to the Super Bowl. I mean, maybe. I can't even say it because I'm not invited. But that's okay. But, you know, I'm trying to reconnect with the Eagles. I can't imagine. I can't imagine that you, Meredith from The Office, with all of this import. You need to be in the box. You need to be in the box. With Bradley Cooper and all those guys. Yeah.
Yes. Bradley Cooper needs to be in my box. No, I'm taking it, I'm taking it, I'm taking it, I'm taking it. Actually, I have to tell you. So you guys, my boyfriend, my real boyfriend, not Bradley Cooper. Not Bradley Cooper. Chris Haston, who worked at NBC forever. I met him on The Office. So again, we were like the real Jim and Pam because we didn't start dating until...
like right before season three. So I say like, we had all the work, sexual tension, like wonderful. Wow. You're the real Jim and Pam. He's now Jennifer Hudson's new photographer. So I just did Jennifer Hudson's show on Monday. We did the, um, the St. Patrick's Day episode. It won't air till St. Patrick's Day, which is March 17th. Right, dummies? Oh, it's Philly. So I painted my nails green, but it was like, I'm doing it for the Eagles. Eh!
for St. Patrick's Day. Oh my God. That's cool. That's excellent. Her show's always on when we're, you know, she seems really sweet. She's awesome. She's an EGOT. She is, yeah, she's an EGOT. She's awesome. And I got to see her Christmas show this year, even though like I was touring, but it somehow worked out. No, she's awesome and she's a great boss. Like everybody that works for her loves her. She treats everybody like...
Did you do that gauntlet? Because they have a gauntlet outside when you're going in. You do the spirit tunnel. Right. So they have people on each side of the hallway and they're like, hey, Kate. They make them arrive for you. Hey, Kate. Did they do that? Yes. It was like emotional, you guys. I was like, no. What do they do? People love me.
Have you seen this person? I have not. It's unbelievable. So any celebrity who comes in, they walk them down the hallway and all production staff is on each side doing... They do like all these... They'll make a rhyme for your name and it's actually not dirty. It's awesome. Wow. We need to do that. We do every morning, right? We don't have any... Except there's nobody that works here anymore. Right? Right.
From home. Put your speakerphone on. It'll be us and Kevin the custodian. Kate, I wanted to tell you, we now have something in common with you. Steve and I, over Thanksgiving, were invited to be in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. Fantastic. So we were up on, and that was, how long ago was that for you? Oh my God. That was like 8, 9, 10 years ago? No, I wanted to say 12 or 13 years. Wow. I think it was 13.
13 or 14. We had an extra special honor because ours was the worst weather since 1987. It poured on them. And I mean pouring rain. I reached the... I was fine, fine, fine, fine, fine. And then right when we hit the camera, that's when the rain came for me. So yeah, I hit the rain. Yeah, I got rain too. What happened with us is we were supposed to be on the... It's this musical float. Of course. And Le Freak, the band, Le Freak Station, they were supposed to join us.
They said, well, no, we're not going out in the rain. So me and Steve and Marissa are the only ones on this gigantic float. It was awesome. It was so awesome. I have to tell you, I was on with a bunch of like B and C Sesame Street characters that you don't really know their names. Okay. And then there
was like this weird teddy bear that didn't have enough air. And I remember as we were watching, I was like, oh God, who's going to get stuck with that? Because it looked like Mr. Poo, Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo. Right, yeah. Because it didn't have enough air in it. And I was like, of course that's mine. Right. I loved it. So we were basically like Leonardo DiCaprio and Titanic. And it was... The Titanic. We were up a level. Yeah. Right. On the bow. We're on the bow. Hilarious. And we're going through the canyons of the city. Hmm.
Yes. It was amazing. Dude, I'm telling you, you know what I saw? I couldn't believe, literally, what I love about Philly, there were so many people like, I'm in your dad's bar. I'm in your brother's bar. Hey, Flannery's Bar. Like, it was all like, it wasn't on Office Fans. It was like local, local. And I'd never seen so many people bring two ladders and a piece of wood and put their kids on that. I was like, we're at the top of that right now. Literally, two ladders and a piece of wood. I'm like, hey.
The kids. And there's a guy like literally wheeling a pancake griddle, like a hot. I'm like, oh, gee, if the kids fall, what could pop?
What could possibly come out of that? So did you see the footage of the guy when he was played last? The dude who had a full pig in a shopping cart with fire underneath it. He was roasting a pig. He was roasting a pig in a shopping cart and cutting pieces off and selling sandwiches. So Philly, I love it. I love it. And my friend ran into him on the subway. He brought the shopping cart with the pig in it on the subway. I saw the pictures on the subway. It was like SEPTA Philly Eagles fan. That's
It's hilarious. You guys, I mean, this is...
I love the creativity. I have to say, I've done the New York Macy's parade. Whatever. It's fine. It's great. But it's so safe. And you don't see anybody you really know. There's no element of danger. No. And also, there's no familiarity because there's so many tourists. I like the locals. It's true. We have a video of the guy cooking the pig in the shopping cart for you to see, Kate. Look at this. Oh, my gosh. Hey, it's brilliant. What a great idea. Totally. This guy could totally...
Pans of charcoal underneath it. One of those double-decker shopping carts. It looks like cocaine. Is this something you might do for the next tailgating? You know what? If the right offer comes along, I would say if you invite me to a party, I will probably show up. If you want me at the pig roasting shopping cart party, I will be there. Hey, how long are you in town? Until Sunday. Until Sunday? Yeah.
I know, I know. Are you just visiting family? Yeah, yeah. Is that what you're doing? Okay, cool. I was just at Corpus Christi with Leslie David Baker who plays Stanley. We were speaking. Oh, wow. We did a Q&A at Texas A&M.
Oh, wow. Which was really fun. Are you, any plans to be in New Orleans for the game? Not unless I get an offer. I can't refuse. We'll see. Okay, yeah. But I am, my boyfriend is shooting the Saturday Night Live. No, I shouldn't say that. Say, say. Not unless it gets you in trouble. No, no, no. Never mind. Never mind. They have a lot going on. What's your party plan for the game? Uh,
You know, I'm looking at my offers right now. You know, I feel like the bumper is like, I feel like when I'm with people from LA, it's so personal for me. So in a way, I'd rather just like watch it at home. Okay. I don't want to have 57 conversations about like...
We were talking about Rob McElhenney and he's going to the game. He's going with Quinta Brunson from Abbott Elementary. She's the best, by the way. She's phenomenal. She's awesome. But there is a huge... Will you be in LA for... I will, but yeah, we'll see. There's a huge contingent and Rob was talking about this. I somehow may have pissed everybody.
I'm just kidding. By the way, Abbott Elementary seems like a perfect show for you to pop up on. Well, it's funny. I've met Quinta. Actually, I've seen her at a few award show parties, which is... She's so awesome. And I know there's... One of the executives is our old DP, Randall Einhorn. Double penetration? Oh, director of photography. No, that's the DVDA person. That's right. That's right.
And, boy, someone's dirtier than me. Someone's thinking dirtier than me. But, yeah, and there's a few directors from The Office. So, like, she's really smart. She said her main inspiration for the show was The Office. What I love about Abed El-Mountry is that
Quinta is, she's Pam and she's Michael Scott. Like, that is unbelievable. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What a brilliant move. Yeah. Like, I just, everything about that show. Well, we at least want to know you're going to be in some position to really absorb all the majesty of the game. I will be absorbing, Steve. Okay. Trust me. I'm very excited. I'm very excited. You're very absorbent. How?
Having grown up in Philly in the 70s and 80s, I remember when the Flyers won and I was like, holy crap. Your sense of possibility grows when your team gets these opportunities. I don't care what age you are. You just feel like it's something to really be in the moment for and celebrate. It keeps us in real time. With the Eagles won. Old people, young people.
Everybody. Absolutely. Unbelievable. The parade. I don't care what level of fandom you had. If you were anywhere near that parade, and we were broadcasting right along the route. Oh, my God. It was, I will never forget that day. I mean, people brought the ashes of their dead father who was like a big fan. Like, it was unbelievable. I'm sure there's like, you know, whoever had to clean up that party. It was like, there's some body parts in there.
And freshly dead as well. That's right. A couple of teeth in there or whatever. Kate, I wanted to ask if you and Jane Lynch have anything going on these days. We are working on a new non-Christmas show. We tour only live. Although there is a version of our old show on PBS. It's a show called The Kate, which is based on a theater named after Kate Hepburn, not me. Oh. Catherine Hepburn. But yeah, so there's a version of it. But yeah, we're working on it.
We have our Christmas show. We'll continue next season. And I'm so sorry. I was like in middle. Oh, yeah. We tried to have you down at Camp Alpha Hunger. I know. I'm so sorry. That's okay. And she got sick, right? Yeah. She had a little... Yeah. But she's a trooper. But that's the thing about touring live. You literally cannot party. You gotta live like a nun. It's kind of...
Have you been approached by Only Murders in the Building? Because Jane had a nice run on that. Not yet. I'll let you know. We're your big advocates. Why aren't we your agents? I know, right? Well, you know what? It's hard. You guys, I turned 60 in June. I already turned 60 in June. So being an aging woman in Hollywood and an aging woman in comedy, I feel like...
I'm doing okay. You're doing damn good. You're doing phenomenally well. I also feel like if you're too famous, you kind of like, it's not the, you know, whatever. I have the best. I'm in the middle. Daniel Roebuck is a friend of the show and he has the perfect
He's that guy. He's like you. Applicable to so many things, doing so many things. I think when the weight of... We were talking about who are the big stars that can open up a movie. They're few and far between now. It's the character actors and the people that are the reliable ensemble players that are getting it done. This is true. I'm getting it done.
I'm trying. I have so many indie movies. You guys are the best. We do have to wrap it up. You always have a home here, Kate. Absolutely. I was waiting.
If I hit it or not. Now you can't. Now you can't. We're done. Thank you. I'm turning her microphone off because we can't hit the delay button anymore. We'll be back in a moment. Stay with us.

All right, thanks, Kat. Normally, I would play our Friday song, and then we would go into the Bizarre File. But, Kate, we're calling an audible here. We have to. We're switching things up a little bit because our next guest was supposed to be on about 20, 30 minutes from now. But...
He's at the airport. He's about ready to catch his flight to come here to Philadelphia, playing tomorrow night at the Miller Theater. So we're going to chat with him first. Sure. Let him get on his flight and get on his way. So we are happy to welcome back to our show, on our Xfinity mobile guest line, Mr. Dusty Slay. He is here. Hey.
Hey, thank you, guys. Yeah, of course. Where are you right now, Dusty? I'm at the airport in Nashville, and I'm just hanging out. Now I'm being the loudest guy in the airport. Wow. What airline are you flying, if you don't mind me asking? Well, I'm flying United today, an airline that I said once I would never fly again, but here I am. Wow. Do they have boarding zones, or are you flying first class, or what's going on?
Well, I don't want to say I might hurt my image, you know, but I am flying first class. Listen, sometimes you need to indulge. Why had you sworn to never fly United before this? Well, years ago, they just were, you know, my flight got delayed and they kicked me off the plane. Everybody kicked everybody off.
And then they were just so rude to me, and I was so mad, and I got all these, you know, I like to have all these principles where I'm like, I'll never fly this airline again. And then I didn't for a long time, but here I am. Here I am. Eventually, there are only a limited number of airlines. Yeah. And there's also like a statute of limitations for they were mean to me. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah.
They were nice to me today. And, yeah, I mean, I've said it about every airline, I think, at one point. So I get fired up in the airport. You know, I get randomly selected. I got patted down today. And then the guy told me my fly was down. So I was like, well, this wasn't all bad.
You did a great, you were on Fallon, the Tonight Show, and had a killer set. And talking about your traveling mishaps and things of that nature. What I love about this, Dusty, though, and I guess they have started doing this, used to be with the Tonight Show with Carson. The camera would favor looking at you perform and you'd see the shadow of Carson.
Carson, now this case, Fallon, you know, in the background and he was howling at your stuff. Can you hear the host laugh when you're performing that way?
You know, sometimes you can hear him. You can hear the roots when they laugh. So that's really, you know, it's like those are the things. Like the audience, I'm used to the audience laughing, right? I mean, you know, that's what you want. But when you hear like staff at the club laugh or anybody like that, that's when you're like, yeah, I'm really working with something here. Yeah, because they've seen it all and they get a little jaded. Yeah, they hate comedy. They probably hate all entertainment.
And when something catches up, you know, and I always do a run through on the Tonight Show. I'm maybe the only one that does this, but I go out. They give you the option to do your whole five minute set in front of just the crew. And I always do it. But everybody was making fun of me the other day. I think I'm the only one that does it. But.
Do they still ask for a... Because it used to be the case where they'd ask for a submission, a transcript of your act. Do they do that anymore? Well, they still do that, but they just offer this. And I think this is great because, in my opinion, this will be the worst that my set ever goes in front of the crew and the cameraman. So I'm like...
This is what I want. I want a quick bomb right before I go out and do the show. Yeah, that's a smart way to think about it. Get it out of the way. Hey, Dusty. That way I go. Well, it's not going to go worse than this. Even if it does now, I'm prepared. Yeah. So, Dusty, you're in Nashville. I wanted to ask you a question because I recently talked to a good friend of ours who moved there. This guy, John DiBella, who's a legendary broadcaster in Philadelphia. He retired. He's moved to Nashville. He's only been living out there for a few months.
Okay, so he's coming from Philly, and I asked him how life in Nashville was, and the one thing he pointed out, he said, the people here drive like goddamn maniacs in Nashville. Can you concur that? I think he must have been driving around me. Really? I mean, because they're insane here, and then for him to compare that, that means a lot.
It is pretty bad. People do drive pretty bad, but I'm also one of them. I contribute to it. I mean, I'm leaving in and out of traffic. I've been called a maniac on several occasions by other comedians and my wife. Wow. How long have you been a lifelong Tennessean or are you a transplant?
I grew up in Alabama and lived in Charleston, South Carolina for about 10 years. I've now been in Nashville about 10 years. So I'm keeping it Southern out here. But yeah, I moved around a bit. And yeah, I've traveled the whole country in a car. I mean, I put, you know, 300,000 miles almost on a car traveling all around the country. And I just I used to deliver pizzas. I mean, I am too comfortable. All right. I have to work. I have to ask this question because I put exclamation points around this question for you.
The rumor is you were at a waiter at a seafood restaurant named Hyman's. That's true. That's true. That's true. We're at a seafood restaurant called Hyman's Seafood. And it's owned by a family with the last name Hyman. And people would ask me, they would go, oh, are you one of the Hymans? I go, yeah, because they named me Dusty Hyman. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Oh, God. That's wonderful. Hey, Dusty, I think, so I saw this real quick. I was scrolling through Instagram, and I think this was you. It was Sarah Silverman who posted something the other day. Were you in a little bit with her where you end up getting decapitated?
I don't think so. That wasn't you. Okay. Because it happened so quick. I thought she said, hey, Dusty Slay. And I'm like, oh, we're having him on next week. Yeah, yeah. And so I was totally mistaken. Never mind. Maybe secretly she doesn't like me in Photoshop cutting off my hair. It's a fantasy. All right. How often did you get into Nashville proper? Because Nashville proper has become like the bachelorette destination of all destinations.
Well, I quit drinking years ago, so there's nothing really down there for me. I quit drinking. You know, I love drinking. I mean, I like drinking so much I like to let it completely control my life, you know? But Nashville is wild. I'll go down. I'll see some music once in a while, but I don't go downtown much. Have you been to or at least seen the Jelly Roll apparently has like the Mecca of all bars down there now?
I've not seen it. I know Jelly Roll a little bit, and I've been to Kid Rock's bar, and I feel like each new bar is bigger and wilder. I mean, it's going to be insane. I can't wait. I'm going to go at some point. I did become a little bit friends with Jelly Roll. Okay. So you're doing theaters, a lot of theaters on this tour, the Night Shift tour, and I
I always hear comedians come down one way or another. A lot of people want straight up the club, the Carolines, the Heliums, the whatever, that kind of experience. And others really like the theater. Where do you fall?
I always said when I was doing clubs, I always said I never want to do theaters. I love comedy clubs. And then I started doing theaters and I was like, oh, this is the way to go. What was I thinking? Right. Yeah. You know, it is so great. I still love clubs, though. But theaters are so nice. It's so awesome. You haven't played the Miller Theater yet and you're playing there tomorrow night. Just wait till you see this room. It's just...
Gorgeous. You know, you will be in awe. Well, not only have I not played the Miller Theater, but I've never been to Philly at all. Oh, my goodness. This is your first time in Philly? Yeah. But you were here. I thought he had you in the studio. We've had you on our show before, have we not? Maybe it was a Zoom. I'm called, yeah. Okay. Okay.
Yeah, never been there. I mean, I'm so excited. Never been there. Well, Dusty, you're coming in when the city is on a high right now because the Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl. Everybody is in the mood to party.
I know. Well, I'm pumped. I'm pumped. My Canadian father-in-law has a story he loves to tell about going to an Eagles game where he was like in the upper deck and got bullied. And he loves to tell it. It's such a fun story. Did it end with bloodshed or was he okay? No, I think they got out of there in time, but I think they did get some drinks spilled on them and
He loves the story. Who doesn't want a story like that? Yeah, totally. Everybody has a story. I went to a sports game and enjoyed myself, but not everybody gets bullied. Yeah, exactly. No, some of my favorite stories. You know, I have been assaulted, shoved, pushed. I've had clothing ripped off of my body and torn to shreds. I love those stories. Yeah. Yeah.
It's a great time. I mean, I've been there. Not at football games, but I've been stabbed with pencils and shot with BB guns. I mean, I get it. Yeah. That's what life is all about. Stabbed with pencils and shot with BB guns. That's brilliant. Yeah, I got shot in the chest when I was a little kid. My cousin shot me. I had to go to the hospital. It went into my lung. What, the BB did?
Well, it was like my grandfather's, like, you know, whatever, air rifle, but it was still a BB. Damn, man. Into your lung? It's still in me. Oh, my gosh. It's still in you. Yeah, it went into my back. Went through my lung, into my back. Oh, my gosh. Dude, that's a little bit... That must have been like a CO2... I mean, a regular BB's not going to go into your lung. Yeah, I mean, I was five, but it was... Yeah, he was pumping it. Dusty, does this... Jeez! Does this...
Does it show up on x-rays? It does show up on x-rays. And I did an MRI, and I told them, I said, the question was, is there any shrapnel in your body? And I was like, well, sort of.
And I said, if this thing pulls this BB out of my body, I want the BB. Yes, you got to melt that thing. Yeah. Oh, my God. Wow. All right. Well, listen, Dusty, you got to catch a plane. We got to do some other things. But it is great to talk to you. I think you're going to have a great time in Philly. So we hope you enjoy it.
Well, thank you very much. I appreciate you having me on. You bet, man. All right, Dusty Slay, everybody. Performing at the Miller Theater tomorrow night at 7 o'clock. We've been giving out tickets this week. You can go to ensembleartsphilly.org to get yours. Let's bring in Friday. ♪♪

Oh, you don't do that. Yep, went on a big... You know how jealous women get about other Bigfoot hunters? Yeah, the unnamed 57-year-old's ongoing efforts to track down the Yeti has seen him trekking all over British Columbia and... But, baby, we...
We'll always have the Loch Ness Monster. According to his divorce papers, one such Sasquatch-seeking expedition saw him taking along his former partner without telling his spouse. Wait a second. This isn't your wife? Not cool, bro. This, according to his now ex-wife, was the final straw to break the marriage. His wife told the British Columbia Supreme Court...
that he had gone on a camping trip on Vancouver Island in August of 2020 in search for the legendary ape-like creature, but the monster hunter had omitted the mention of his guest camper. And they said the respondent was extremely upset by this, according to Justice Robin Baird. Of course! Before the claimant returned home, she fired off a text to him declaring that their marriage was over and she never changed her mind. However, as the divorce was entering its final stages...
The ex wanted spousal support. How would you feel if Rochelle was on the phone with an old boyfriend and they hunted the Jersey Devil together? His claim for the money from his former wife was based on an accident during a previous Bigfoot hunt that left him unable to work. The court heard that he was staying at a hotel on Northeast Vancouver Island...
...when he slipped on an icy staircase and fell in January of 2016, sustaining multiple injuries, including fractures to an ankle and vertebrae. The court was informed that the man had been suffering from chronic and sometimes severe pain since the unfortunate incident, which persists to this day. However, Judge Baird remained unconvinced that the husband was left totally disabled by the accident or that he could not earn income from employment of some other kind, partly because he can't stop hunting the creature...
The claimant, she said, continues to enjoy camping, fishing, hunting, riding quad motorcycles and exploring remote areas of B.C. in search of Sasquatch. Baird also highlighted the husband's pride in being recognized as, quote, a gifted student and his belief in his own intellectual superiority, which the judge felt could aim...
could aid him in finding employment if he chose to look for it. So he deemed himself a genius? Yes, but he said he couldn't work because of this accident that he had. And she said, I accept that he is no longer suited to work requiring a lot of physical strength or stamina, but he told me himself that he has made no effort since 2016 to seek or secure employment in lighter or more sedentary occupations
or to retrain for a better-paying, low-impact job in keeping with his superior intellect and aptitude. Well, this I can testify to because I watched her show Bigfoot Hunters on the History Channel, and those, you're looking at some genius-level stuff going on there. She also deemed the husband's medical evidence as dated, noting that it was the same presented when applying for a federal disability pension six years prior. What did your husband do again? Oh, he hunts for Bigfoot. So she sanctioned the divorce, and...
she is not assigning spousal support or legal costs to either party. Kathy's husband hunts for Bigfoot. All right, let's see. How about this guy? In Indiana, Jeffrey Bell Jr. learned a hard, hard lesson. If you're going to fake your own death to get out of paying child support, don't hide at your girlfriend's place. In April of last year, Indiana State Police Detective Travis Baker first received reports that Bell had
passed away from the Washington County Child Support Administrator. Around the same time, Baker was also receiving reports that Bell was alive and well and shacked up with his girlfriend in the same county. Soon after, Bell was apprehended and charged with false informing. But wait, there's more.
Bell allegedly told the court that he had to attend his court date remotely because he'd be out of state. And during the video proceedings, it became clear to the court that Bell was not out of state. He was, in fact, still at his girlfriend's house. At that point, the judge ordered Bell to be taken into custody and politely escorted into the courtroom to be face-to-face with the judge.
Now he's charged with three counts of failing to appear, one count of false informing, and one count of contempt of court. And he's got that pesky child support to deal with as well. I'm sorry to keep this short, but that's all we're going to have time for in the Bizarre File for this particular round. Because we got BirdBot to get to. This is huge. BirdBot is in place and ready to go. We are sending him off on his journey. He will fly, fly, fly into someone's arms.
and make his way around the city and hopefully to New Orleans and back. We're going to take a break and we will reveal where he is and then maybe you'll be the first to get him. We'll be right back. Stay with us.

BirdBot. BirdBot 2.0. Thank you to our chief engineer, Greg Monahan, who created BirdBot. One thank you very much. Yes, he did. For going to great lengths to get BirdBot together in a short amount of time. But he is set to go. And joining us via Zoom right now, we are going to our BirdBot correspondent, Nick McElwain. Nick, are you there? Hey, Preston. How are you, buddy? Doing great, my man. All right. So it seems like it stopped raining, right?
Yeah, it's actually not too bad out. It's a little bit warmer than normal, and we are on location and ready to reveal. All right, Nick, tell us where you are right now, please. Well, when it came to Bird Bot and launching him and going from Broad Street to Bourbon Street, we couldn't think of a more iconic corner of Philadelphia, especially when it comes to the sports world, as Broad and Patterson. Broad and Patterson. Yeah! All right.
We are at the corner of Broad and Patterson, right outside the Novocare Center. And in the background, where Sam is holding the Zoom camera, the Lincoln Financial Field, Wells Fargo Center, the ballpark. So we are in the opposite corner of Lincoln Financial Field, right outside the Eagles practice facility at the Novocare Complex, Broad and Patterson.
This feels so right. And Nick would not admit this, but he is playing hurt this morning. And last night, I know for a fact that actually a priest came to deliver the last rites. And Nick waved him off and said, no, tomorrow's the BirdBot launch. I will not miss this. So kudos to you, Nick. Thank you, sir. And we just had our first Go Birds! Yeah. Go Birds! Go Birds!
We're looking at the Zoom shot right now of you guys. And we can see that you have an MMR vehicle with you. It should be pretty easy to spot. And now all we need to do is someone, anybody, can come.
by and grab BirdBot from you and start his travels. And then it's up to the people who get BirdBot to take him and hand him on to someone else. We are looking for a couple of days of visiting spots around Philadelphia and the outlying areas, sopping up every bit of good
Philly energy, and then we'll send it on its way next week. But yeah, it really involves everyone working together as a team to move BirdBot along. There are great and specific directions on the back of BirdBot. By the way, it looks fantastic. It really does look cool with the lighting and that
the helmet, the space helmet is phenomenal. But it says, yo, you found Preston and Steve's BirdBot. Hey, what's up, man? You found Preston and Steve's BirdBot. Help me travel the road to victory. It's your mission to get me from Broad Street to Bourbon Street. Post your photos on Instagram and tag, collab with BirdBot Philly at BirdBotPhilly, PrestonandSteve.com. So we've had a few people yelling, go birds, as they've been driving their mind, but nobody stopped
That's okay. Yeah, they just had to work. I figured it's going to take a couple of minutes because we just made the announcement. We just went live with this. And by the way, a couple of specs about BirdBot and his construction. We do have tracking devices on BirdBot. The technology has come a long way since 2018 in the fact that we will be...
easily be able to track Burr about exactly where he is. Exactly, yes. We also have, Nick had mentioned the lights on him. We have a solar panel on the back that can charge it and there's a USB port. Yes. If you wouldn't mind charging. Exactly. The lights will stay lit and they are green lights.
And they look fantastic. So it's a sturdy build. Now, that doesn't mean that it won't get some bumps and bruises along the way because it is, after all, made of, you know, only it's not made of adamantium. Right. So we tried. We couldn't get to Wakanda in time. Yeah. So anyhow, it's up to you to take good care of a bird. But we'll sit in the backseat of a car, a standard car. You may have to put him on his side. He's not super huge. He's the size pretty much of old bird bot.
With a bigger head. I will say this. BirdBot 2.0 has the aggressive face of a winner. Yeah. It's a very arch eagle face. I love it. Yeah, so if you're driving anywhere near Broad and Patterson, right, and you're on your way to work, take BirdBot to work with you. Yeah. I mean, that's the idea. We want BirdBot to go anywhere and everywhere. Yes. And obviously, if you're a business owner or something and you want to, you know, get the word out, you can kill...
I won't say two birds with one stone, but multitask. Right. And when you post this on social media, you can also, you know, if you post pictures of a bird bot on social media, you can tag your business, whatever it may be. And that will get, we had a lot of people that looked at it in 2018. Absolutely. We'll be pumping all that information out because we want everyone to enjoy, celebrate, and collab in this victory. Nick, how much, you've got bird bot up on your shoulder. How much would you say bird bot weighs by lifting him up?
You know, he's not light. Probably about the same as Stanley Cup or something like that. It takes a little bit of a lift. But I love the solar panels. I love the additions and the upgrades. The tracking system is going to make a lot of huge difference. It's going to make it really exciting for us to track him along and see where he goes in and around Philadelphia this weekend. And by the way, we had actually the intelligence, the AI core of BirdBot. We commissioned NVIDIA.
to put together the heuristic system. He's very close to Preston, the Android data from Next Generation. Yeah. Same sort of intelligence system on board BirdBot 2. A couple of texts coming in. One says, Hey guys, I'm flying to New Orleans tomorrow. I could have been your BirdBot delivery boy.
Thank you. We appreciate that, but that's not how we want this to operate. We want BirdBot to touch as many Philadelphians as possible before getting on the road. And by the road, we don't mean an aircraft. We mean a drive from here to New Orleans to feel the pulse of the country on the way from Broad Street to Bourbon Street. And that can be handed off.
can be a relay or you can take it straight down there. But then once you get to New Orleans with BirdBot, same thing. Circulate around town. Get them to go from hand to hand in Bird's fans only. Bird Street to Bourbon Street by the street. That's how we want it to get done. I'm sorry, but I'm good. Here's a text, Nick. Real quick answer this and then we'll have your comment. But this person texted it in question. Whose head is bigger? Nick's or BirdBot's? Ah, man.
I'm going to give it to BirdBot here, but it's close. It's close. It's actually pretty damn close. Yeah. Nick, what do you think? Well, yeah, it is close. He's got a bigger nose than I do. Steve, describe the helmet that we bought for BirdBot. So the helmet, state of the art, Nick. We actually was commissioned by both. We contacted Jeff Bezos and his space program and Elon Musk as well. Also a couple of forms. We did...
a la the early days of the space program. We did get some German scientists involved as well. And so the space helmet is really state-of-the-art. We deactivated the camcorder on the side, so that really won't be any issue. But it does have a whole story
string and in fact there's one tracker inside the helmet as well so that we know where BirdBot is and Marissa will be posting the whole sojourn so everyone can follow where BirdBot is arriving at last time we did it it was an amazing journey
Nick, last time we did it, you know, it was an interesting route because they played in a northern city in the Super Bowl. They went up in Minneapolis and this time around Bird Bot 2.0 will be crossing the Mason-Dixon line and heading down south. And so it'll be a very different but interesting route, you know, halfway across the country. Yes. Nick, quick question. With Bird Bot and the Instagram handle, the name, what is that specifically? It says it on the back.
at BirdBotPhilly, all one word, at BirdBotPhilly, and yeah, post and collab. And Marissa suggested yesterday that when you post, not only sharing, but invite to collab with the BirdBotPhilly account, and that way we can just, you post them, and it'll show up on your account, but it'll also show up on BirdBotPhilly's account. Okay. If you stop and think about all the places BirdBot ended up last go around, we had everything. Did we have a strip club at one point?
Probably. We had to have, right? Yeah, we had pubs. We had everything from charities to- Fire stations. A broad selection. Helicopters. Exactly. I mean, there was just a ton of different cool visuals that we got from BirdBot 1, and now we have BirdBot 2.0. By the way, a text just came in and said, all right, who is taller, BirdBot or Dave McGrogan? BirdBot. Yeah. That was a text that just came in a little while ago.
I'm a little disappointed. I was just going to say, we should reiterate the location because...
Because I'm still standing out here. There's a Broad and Patterson right at the corner of Broad and Patterson, just outside the NovaCare Center, across the street from the ballpark and Lincoln Financial Field, by the subway stations, energy stations. So if you're heading south on Broad towards the Navy Yard, we're on the right-hand side, just outside the NovaCare Center. And swing by. We'd love to get this journey started. Nick, when we first connected with you, it looked like a bike accident.
officer was driving past it. Did he say anything to you? Was he Philly police or was he Eagle security? He was Eagle security. Good observation case. And he said he listens to President Steve every day, which is cool. I was going to stop him to get his name, but it looked like he was riding his bike to work. So yeah, we've seen a few people like walking the dogs and to work. Actually, I'm going to be back down here tomorrow because the Polar Plunge is at the ballpark right across the street. And they're setting up for the Polar Plunge tomorrow. There's a special Olympics. There's some people getting set up there.
right about now, and then a whole bunch of Philly cops who are getting that area set up outside the ballpark in between Citizens Bank Park and Lot S. So that's where we'll be tomorrow. We've got some photos outside Lincoln Financial.
the field, outside of Kennedy Live, outside the ballpark. But right now, we are at the corner of Broad-Pattison. Hey, real quick, behind you is where the Eagles practice. And they have a fence, and the fence is lined with Arborvitae. Do you hear any activity? Is there any activity going on on the field right now as we speak? You know, you can kind of see
He can sometimes, can't he, Case? I think he can. I guess whosoever there is talking about Bird Bot. Nick is headed over to the wall to see if he can peek through the Arborvitaes. Nick's head is stuck in the bars.
Steve, my head doesn't... Come on, man. Come on. If there's anybody here, they're inside. Nobody practices outside yet. I think they started practice yesterday. Brandon Graham was on the field, which is pretty exciting. But yeah, nobody's outside at the NovaCare Center. Well, I'm going to call an audible now. We've been chatting for a little bit. We'll reiterate the location. This is on...
you know, a complete trust of anyone who wants to come by and grab BirdBot. But at Broad and Patterson, you'll see the MMR vehicle. You see Nick out front holding BirdBot 2.0 up in the air. And I figured it would take a little time for somebody to get over to that area and pick him up. So we'll keep monitoring you, Nick. Wait a minute, Preston. Wait a minute, Preston. Okay. We got a guy pulling up in DelVal equipment truck. All right. And, uh,
What's up, man? How you doing, buddy? What's your name? Kevin. Kevin, you want to take word about his first step in the jersey? Okay, now, first step, don't curse anymore. He's on the radio. The first thing that he said was, F, yeah! We like that spirit. All right, so Sam, who's holding the Zoom camera, Sam's going to hand the phone to, what's his name again? I'm sorry. Kevin. And Kevin's going to be able to chat with you guys. All right. Hey, Kevin, can you hear me? It's Preston. Oh, yeah. What's up, Preston?
Yo, bud. So were you working in the area, Kevin? I'm actually heading to Cape May to hit a service call. Cape May. He's going in the wrong direction. It's all right. He's going to make his way around. So you're on your way to Cape May right now?
Oh, yeah. All right. Listen, it flows with the crowd. We let it loose. Your commitment, you know, is to pass BirdBot on to somebody else to keep this going all the way to New Orleans. So we appreciate it. Of course. Well done. You appear to have enough room. This would fit into any car, but you have a nice big truck for the first leg of BirdBot's journey.
Yeah, we'll make sure that he buckles up and then he's safe. Kevin drives him safely down. But on his first day of existence, BirdBot's going to get to see the ocean. Yes! So listen, Kev, if you wouldn't mind either going by like Washington Square or the Cape May Lighthouse or some kind of landmark and get a picture of him there, all right? Awesome. I love it. Yeah, I mean, Kevin, I hope you understand that by taking BirdBot, you do have...
some responsibilities. With great power comes great responsibility. And you need to let the people of the Philadelphia area and anybody who listens to the Press of Steve show all across the world and follows BirdBot on Instagram, you need to let them know what BirdBot is up to. And don't hang on to BirdBot for too long. But also, don't leave him stranded down the shore. Yeah. All right. Awesome. And make sure we get pictures of BirdBot next to your truck and your company. All right?
All right, cool. Will do. All right, thank you, Kevin. Good luck to you. Our first recipient of BirdBot. He is on his way as we speak. BirdBot fly on the road to Cape May. Yeah, he's going there. Fly, BirdBot fly. All right, so he is now leaving the nest. Nick, hand him over, man. Let's get his side.
We're going to get him in. Kevin actually has to move some stuff in the front seat of his car so he can get BirdBot buckled in properly. But he was just saying, you know, he listens to Steve every day. He knows all the rules, all the protocols when it comes to BirdBot. So we're going to load him up and send him on his way. Tell him we could not have a better representative on leg one of the journey. Yep. Absolutely. Excellent. All right. We're going to put him in. All right. There he goes. All right. He's climbing in the DelVal mechanical truck. Yes. Buckle him up. Yes. Yeah. All right. Nick is pretty...
And by the way, doesn't this allow him to drive in high occupancy lanes? If I were a cop, I'd let him do it. He looks great. Oh, that's a great shot. Sitting in the front seat with the seat belt on. He's posing for a picture with Nick. And BirdBot has left the nest. Keep in touch. It's a wonderful thing. There he goes. Nick, great job. How do you feel about it? You saw Kevin in person. What do you think?
This is a great first person to take Bird Bot where he's going to go. And I'm so excited he gets to go to the beach. I mean, he gets to go to Cape May. But Kevin said he'll be back in Philly later today. He'll find somebody to end Bird Bot off to. And there he goes, guys. All right. Bye-bye, Bird Bot. You know what's kind of perfect? From the shore to the Gulf. Right? Yeah. Yeah. There you go. Gulf of America.
So DelVal, what was it? DelVal Equipment, was that what it was called? DelVal Mechanical? DelVal Equipment. DelVal Equipment. All right. Thank you very much. All right, Nick, you've done good. Thanks, man. We appreciate it. And you can bring it on back to the studio when you're ready. All right. See you guys back at the station in a minute. All right. Oh, there you go. BirdBot is officially out and on the way. Yeah!
Picking up love all over the Delaware Valley from Eagles fans and then eventually making his way from Broad Street to Bourbon Street. And then Bird Bot's got a party. He's got to get some beads on. He's got to go to the, you know, get a hurricane and...
All the things that you would do in New Orleans. Again, another bit of thanks to Greg Monahan, who is our mission engineer, who put all this together, the design and everything. We were throwing things and modifications at him right up to the last second, and he responded cheerfully. No one supports this project more than does Chief Engineer Greg Monahan. By the way, there's a lot of text coming in. This one says, I live in Cape May Courthouse.
I work at Fred's. Tell him to drop it off there. Fred's. We'd love to party with BirdBot. Sonny Hill says, I'm in Sea Isle. He can drop it off here if he wants to. So they can communicate. Melissa, the best way for people to communicate with each other to start this process is how?
Hang on, I got to turn her mic on. Go ahead. Please tag your photos. Please tag BirdBot Philly collab with us and we'll be sharing those. And then the Facebook group. So BirdBot Philly Facebook group. You guys can post in there and start the conversation. Okay. And also I heard that Mike Jarek was on air this morning asking about the location of BirdBot.
So we need to let those guys know that he is officially on the road and out and about. And by the way, around the clock here, obviously, anyone on air or whatever, if you see it, text, call in, and let whosoever on air know that you've spotted or that you have or that you're moving BirdBot along. And this will help other people know where they may be able to intercept BirdBot and move him along as well. Yeah.
Bird butt one's crying right now. I'm sorry about that. Do you think those are tears of joy? Probably. Listen, every parent wants their children to do better than they did. By the way, a little birdie told me this. Yes. I'm using that as a pun, absolutely. So, Elmwood Park Zoo, tomorrow, they're having a Super Bowl Eagles pep rally. Yes.
And it's from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Now, I've been upon good authority. So Brian Dawkins is going to be there. Hall of Famer, man. He's a legend. And I have heard whoever is in possession of BirdBot at the time, if you swing by the Elmwood Park Zoo, you can get in and get a picture of BirdBot with Brian Dawkins. Okay, so... They'll make sure that happens. Didn't BirdBot...
one have a picture with Dawkins? Yes. He did. That's why this needs to happen. So then the clarion call has to go out to Kevin who's getting him down to, Bird Bot down to Cape May right now. We have to make sure what time is this tomorrow? It's from 11 to 2 but listen, whoever has him at the time, what I don't want is for you to just hang on to Bird Bot the whole time and then go by there. So hand it off to people and let them know that at Elmwood Park Zoo, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow, Brian Dawkins is there. They're having a big party. Uh,
And they'll have the Eagles pep band and the cheerleaders and Swoop. And yeah, the whole gang is going to be there. And you can get in and get Brian Dawkins to get a picture with Bird Bot and hopefully he remembers his time with Bird Bot. And the Eagles will be there. The bird. Yeah, Reggie and Noah are their names. You mentioned a critical thing, which is we love the enthusiasm for it, but we don't want you to hold on to and dominate Bird Bot.
BirdBot's time. It has to be passed from person to person so that it can cover as much area as possible. That's important. That's what this was all about. That's what the first one did and we won. Exactly. So we got to keep doing that. I'm excited. I am as well. I'm really happy. Kevin was a cool guy. Thank you for coming by and picking that up. By the way, another cool thing that's happened. Casey just handed me an envelope. This is Casey's. You remember the other day he was talking about a premonition that he had. Yep.
And he didn't want to reveal it. He didn't want to jinx it about the game. And so I said, write it down and seal it and put it in an envelope. So I have it right here. We will open it after the game. All right. I have Casey's Super Bowl premonition. And we will save that. I'll put it right here on the console. All right. Save that till a week from Monday. Kathy, do we do the premonition cheer? Cheer. Kathy, do you remember it? No. Come on, Kathy. Ready? Okay. You remember?
No. I didn't know what to begin with. I know success. I really liked it. Something about having a premonition. I know. Don't we have the recording of the call yesterday? It should be in the system. She let us do the entire cheer.
I know. Be aggressive. B-E-A-G-G-E-R-E-S-S-I-V-E. Well, you messed me up. I was just... Sorry. Be aggressive. B-E-A-G-G-E-R-E-S-S-I-V-E. S-S-I-V-E. Yeah. Thank you. Be aggressive. And then S-U-C-C-E-S-S. See you next Tuesday. No, Steve. No. No? No. See you next Tuesday? No, no, no.
She was a C-U-N-T. Wait, were you talking about me? No, no, no. Yes, you were. No, I wasn't. I would never. Yes, you were. We were on the air. He meant to say see you next Tuesday and he said see you in. I would never. No, no. There are other people on this show that call you names. I never.
I mean, from a certain point on, I've learned from my mistakes, and I would like to take this time to publicly apologize to you for anything mean that I've ever said to you. I apologize. Wow. For when you spelled that C word? I didn't. Yes, it was. Everyone here, it was something different. It was about how you would phrase. It was not directly directed at you. I thought it was. And now back in the office, that's when he called me back. It was.
That's what he just says. When I wasn't in the studio. Yeah. All right. Okay, whatever. So, by the way, thank you to phillysportstrips.com. They are the ones that are sponsoring BirdBot 2.0 from Broad Street to Bourbon Street. And they're also lending their support to things like Bleed for the Birds, which we're going to do next Tuesday.
And we have free Eagles tattoos that are going to be administered here in our studio. And you can go to PrestonAndSteve.com to enter to win one of those. So our friend Vince, speaking of, was getting a lot of news coverage. And, you know, they do a lot of, obviously, they provide the best sports trips and packages available. But they're so charity-minded as well. And, by the way, Kathy, here we go. Ready? Okay.
I had a premonition, and what did we foresee? But the Mighty Eagles team was on its way to victory. We saw it in the cards and in the crystal ball, but you're going to have to check it out because we are the best of all. Yeah! And in the crystal ball?
I really want to do a cheer segment next week. All right. Yeah. We can do that. By the way, I took a picture with Kate Flannery and BirdBot in the green room and Casey took it for me. And Kate started like raising her hands. And so, you know, I stuck my hand up too. Kate's doing like, yay. My hand is literally like in a cheer fist. I'm like, I love it. Go BirdBot.
Listen, I love that. If there's ever been a time to do any moves like that, any herkies or any energy, absolutely now, you will not look stupid. You will look like you have the spirit. By the way, I think the current, you guys are probably not going to care about this, Casey, you might know. I think the current cheerleaders, like when I was a cheerleader, it was fists. A lot of fisting. You couldn't have a bent wrist. Your wrist had to be straight, but now I think they do straight and...
That's hands problematic. Yeah, I don't think they do fists anymore. It's kind of kiling all over the field. There's been a lot of controversy about that lately, actually. That's weird. Okay. Yeah, fists is like power. Fists. Yeah, that was my generation. Really, you should be flipping the bird. Ready? Okay.
All right. Well, anyway, BirdBot's out. BirdBot is on the way. And we're very excited to see where the travels take him. And we'll be following along and you can follow along on social media and tuning into WMMR as well. I want to go ahead and take a break because when we come back, we have to get to the connoisseur and your chance to win some stuff. So we'll have it when we get back. Stay with us.
It's MMR's Local Shots, Artist of the Month. From right here in Philadelphia, it's 314. I'm good at my chiquita. Well, I'm looking at me.
Just a chica on the rise for you, babe. Hear them on the air every Wednesday at 6.30 with your host, Brent Porsche. Search local shots right now at WMMR.com for even more exceptional local music. Brought to you by Family and Company Jewelers. Find a band that rocks her world at family. And the station that's always supported Philly's music scene, 93.3 WMMR. Everything that rocks.
All right. Thank you very much, Kat. Real quick before we move on with the connoisseur segment, I wanted to read this text. I held on to it. It says, Hagan,
Hey, guys, I hate the Eagles, but I love BirdBot. And I am rooting for the Eagles because of BirdBot 2.0. So thank you, Random Texter. We question your preference to root, but we are happy that BirdBot has brought you into the camp. They say big of you to do that. We appreciate it. Yeah, most definitely. So we're spreading the love. Yes. Spreading Eagles love and Philly love.
All over. It's kind of a cool aspect to taking him all the way to the shore and then coming back. And we have a number of people down in the area around the Cape May area that are interested in hooking up. So again, you know, all the information is on PresidentSteve.com and the BirdBot Facebook page.
which Marissa says is the best way to sort of correspond with everyone. But you have multiple ways to find out where BirdBot is. And if you want to go get them, go get them. Hang on a second. Okay. What is this?
Shades of Gray window tint will be giving away a gift certificate in the amount of $449 for ceramic film on a car to whoever brings BirdBot by the shop today for a photo. Wow. Okay. Wow. I haven't even thought about that. That's brilliant. People offering up.
some type of incentive for you to bring by bird body. Now, we're removed from that, but you can absolutely do that. It's in the wild, man. What's the name of that place? It's called Shades of Grey Window Tint. I'm not sure where that is, but that is a great idea. That's actually a brilliant idea. For people to do that. It looks like it's in Bucks County on Philmont Road.
Philmont Avenue, Feasterville. Marissa, is there any way to account for offers like that? Which we have nothing to do with. You guys don't use Facebook groups that often, but Facebook groups are just like a community. So you can just go in there and post in there and post your place. And if you want to get it dropped off,
Or if you have him, drop it off in there and keep an eye on it. And then you can comment on it and talk that way. Facebook groups. By the way, we love them showing up at different businesses, at different offices and getting pictures with the people that work there. It's wonderful. So that's a great idea to go to the Facebook page, the BirdBot Facebook page. And if you're a business and you want to offer up some kind of thing for BirdBot, that's up to you. Yes. And whether or not people do it or not, that's up to them. And just to be clear, there is a BirdBot Facebook page.
and then there is a group. So think of it like a fan group where you can talk. It's a community space. Is there a breakdown on our own, PresidentSteve.com? There is. Okay, good. I know, but for the people who don't use Facebook a lot, it might be led by the nose. 100%.
And this is, I didn't plan this out of time to ask you this, Steve, so I apologize if you can't do it right now. But can you see where he is right now? Yes. We haven't tried out the tracking device yet. I just want to make sure that it is indeed working and that maybe we can get a bead on where Kevin might be as we speak. By the way, I shared with Marissa, so she has access to these tags as well. Okay. So I'm going to go to BirdBot. Just give me one second. I'm just curious as to, yeah, we have the signal. I can hear you.
I can hear it. It's coming. He's underwater apparently right now. They're dinging now. Let's see where we're going. Let me see if I can get it. Six minutes ago, he is on...
Probably gone across to Walt Whitman, I would think. And then heading up to Williamstown Road. Okay. Don't see exactly where he's on, Kathy. Does that look familiar to you? He's probably on 42. Yeah, I would think 42. Yeah. AC Expressway. AC Expressway, 42. Yep. Okay. All right. He's on his way. Love it. And so we can track.
That's about all we can do. We're pretty much helpless. And keep in mind, as I mentioned earlier, Elmwood Park Zoo tomorrow, Brian Dawkins is going to be doing an appearance at their big pep rally between 11 and 2. And if anybody who has BirdBot can bring him by there, that'd be great because we got a picture of Brian Dawkins in 2018 with BirdBot. And this can work. And I think that the zoo has okayed that they'll get BirdBot to reoccur.
Dawkins and a picture. We couldn't even cut that line. So the whole Elmwood Park Zoo team has been briefed and they're looking out for Bird Bot. This is coming from their marketing director. So tomorrow from 11 to... And by the way, Swoop's going to be there to cheerleaders a pep band and Brian Dawkins and the actual Eagles, one of the ones that they fly at the game, Reggie and Noah.
Noah's name is highlighted. Maybe Noah is the one. Because Noah is the one that's coming in our studio next week. Noah is the one with one eye? I believe so, Steve. An amazing animal. So all of the eagles at the Elmwood Park Zoo were injured and they rehabilitate them. All right. So there you go. We'll follow BirdBot and we'll see what happens. In the meantime, time for the connoisseur. It's...
Time for the connoisseur. I gotta hit my effects. Sorry. All right, I got some food stories to share with you this morning, and we'll play some clips and give some stuff away. We got some good stuff to give away, by the way. All right, we're gonna begin with this. Valentine's Day 2025. Restaurants, of course, are packed with romantic tables.
For two, because Valentine's Day has traditionally been a couples-focused holiday. But new research suggests that may be changing this year. While there will still be plenty of partners dining out together that night, there may be a shift in celebrations, according to a new survey from Open Table. And the poll of more than 1,500 adults across the country reveals that singles are saying yes.
So in the past, many would have taken a hard pass on a first date on this holiday. But now 61% of singles are willing to go out to dinner for their very first date on Valentine's Day. So the height of your dating days, would you consider, would you have at that time considered going out for a first date on Valentine's Day? Hell no.
And the reason is? I'm not in love with you yet. Right. And that is a night for lovers. Yeah, exactly. And, you know, you may be hoping for something, but I wouldn't want to send a message that is too aggressive either and say, he took me out on Valentine's Day. Like, to me, that would be akin to making your first date checking out wedding venues. Yeah. But with this article...
they have included the top 100 romantic restaurants in the country to help you find your ideal spot for a holiday. Can I guess number one? Reservation. Well, they don't do it by ranking number one. They just highlight them per city.
But what would you guess? Well, because of its legendary sandwich, Guppies. Kathy Romano. No, so I'll give you some examples. The Marine Room in San Diego, Burns Steakhouse in Tampa, a place called Canoe in Atlanta. Canoe. The Dining Room, Biltmore East in Asheville, North Carolina. Okay, that's at Biltmore Home and Gardens. I've been there.
Is there anything here? Yes, and I'll get to those in just a moment. So the River Cafe in Brooklyn, the Pink Door in Seattle. So locally in our region, here's what they've named the most romantic restaurants. And this is from Open Table. So in Philly, they have three locations.
Sky High. Sky High. Not familiar. Actually, I'm sorry. That's the only one in Pennsylvania. What? Marissa, are you familiar with Sky High? It's in the Four Seasons. Yeah, it's the top floor of the Four Seasons. Beautiful view. And here's a little trick. Look, it is very expensive, but just go to the bar and get a drink.
If you just want to get up there and take in the experience. Yeah. In fact, I've gone there just for like coffee before going for breakfast. That's what we did. You remember we were in Chicago and we went to the Hancock building. Yeah. And the restaurant was sold out. And we were like, we want to go up there. So we just went up and we got drinks.
And it was raining and cloudy and we couldn't see anything. Like nothing. Until we were leaving. We were walking out. Finally the clouds started parting. We're like, oh my God, we're up really high. If you want to know a trick and it works all the time because I learned it from the movies. You take a white napkin, drape it over your arm and go back into the kitchen. That's what you do. Yeah.
So Sky High, they usually, if I go into the city for any of my holiday activities, I always stop there. They always have like the most, it's the four seasons. They always have the most beautiful decorations, but that view is really amazing. I went once for appetizers and drinks. Like we, I think we got like two rounds of drinks and appetizers and
How much? It was ridiculous. Too much. It was absurd. That's why she had to switch cars because you have to drop down to pay for the... It's ridiculous. You look at the bill and it's astonishing. I know, but it's beautiful. And Marissa's right. You got to go up there and see it. Just grab one drink at the bar and you'll get the same experience. So two other restaurants in Pennsylvania that are considered the top 100 romantic restaurants are in Lancaster.
In Lancaster. So you have Josephine's and then Belvedere's Restaurant and Bar. You know, I like you, Jebediah. You're a simple man. That was on my holiday activity list. There you go. Yeah, they have the igloos up on their patio outside and you can dine outside in the igloos. And I even said during the holiday activity list, if you...
They're really hard to come by. I mean, they get booked up quickly, but inside, like the decor and the vibe inside is wonderful. It's really nice. In New Jersey, there were two locations that were named. You have in Cape May, Washington Inn.
It's considered one of the most romantic restaurants. And in Atlantic City, Molino, New York is in Atlantic City, and it's supposed to be a very romantic place. Marissa, is 19 still open? No.
It is not, Steve. Oh, 19 used to be on the... Yeah. Sky High is actually... So remember, 19 was only part of the building. Yeah. Sky High is more of a 360. I used to love 19. It had great views as well. And the food was terrific. It's sad to hear that's gone. All right. So those are some romantic locations to consider. Let's play our first movie clip that has to do with food. And Marissa has a theme. All right.
It's all football game foods. Love it. So here, football party game foods, so on. All right, let's play the first clip. Here we go. Hey! Hey! What are you doing? Dude, if you get the nachos stuck together, that's one nacho. All right, 215-263-WMMR. Let's see if you know. Order up. Move on to the next story. So there is an event that's coming up in Philadelphia.
And it is by the Iwate Prefecture and Japan External Trade Organization and Wagyu Sommelier proudly hosting Philadelphia's first ever Iwate Wagyu Restaurant Week. Which is a groundbreaking culinary event to celebrate one of the rarest and most luxurious ingredients in the world. Japanese A5 Wagyu beef steak.
And nine esteemed Philadelphia restaurants are offering signature dishes that will showcase this exceptional ingredient, making it an unmissable opportunity for food enthusiasts and culinary explorers alike. So as a steak aficionado, which you are, do you have a, are you a Wagyu fan?
Listen, it's really, really tender and super good. I've only had it, I think, one time. But it's too expensive. I can't justify... More than Kobe? Yeah, I believe so. I believe this is the top. This is the absolute best. But I mean, like one time years ago, we went to Barclay Prime and I went ahead and spent money on a very expensive meal. And...
Kathy's drinks probably cost as much as the meal. And it was great, but I really have a hard time justifying paying that much money for food. Especially when there's very good food that's about $9 million less. Most definitely. Hi, guys. Hey! That was a lot of fun. I enjoyed being down there. I went to see Richard Kind last week at the Parks Casino, and they have a steakhouse in there called Parks Grill. And Preston, they have...
Wagyu beef on the menu. But I agree with you. So I ended up getting the ribeye instead. Look, it was so flavorful. It's kind of fatty, which adds to the flavor. It just was so damn good. And so I can't justify the price. Do you remember what the price was by any chance? For the ribeye? For the Wagyu. No. The ribeye was like $38, which is, I think, fairly standard for a steakhouse. And the other thing about it, there's more to it. And I'm not...
I'm fine with an 8-ounce filet or whatever, but a 12-ounce or 16-ounce ribeye, to me, that's a perfect size. And by the way, Wagyu, is that the correct way? I've heard Wagyu. Okay, Wagyu with the Y pronounced. Wagyu! Oh, Wagyu! I'm just going to the website right now for Park's Grill. I just want to know, is Wagyu... Oh, they already have it up here. Is it like a market price? I'm looking for Wagyu. It was special. It was on special that night, yeah.
By the way, ask for Scott. Terrific server. Oh, nice. Okay, so... When you go in there, just yell. Yes. Here are the restaurants that are having specials. La Croix restaurant at the Rittenhouse. La Croix, sorry, at the restaurant. And they're having Japanese Wagyu tartare and Wagyu steak. Royal Boucherie. Uh,
is having the Wagyu Bouchers de Boeuf Wellington and A5 Wagyu Steak for two. The cheaper version is the Bobby Bouchers. El Chignon, I guess is how you pronounce this, or Chin-Gon is how it's spelled.
Sure. They are having carne asada tacos, wagyu pastrami aguachile, and wagyu fat tamales. Liberty Kitchen has an A5 Japanese wagyu roast beef sandwich. Kampar has wagyu rendang and wagyu sunpunchi. Morimoto is having A5 wagyu short rib patties.
Obamiso. Hey, Preston, when you get sushi, you ever do like that? You ever do like a Wagyu? Hell yes. Yeah, okay. There's a place, we go to Uka. Yeah. And they've had this thing. It's been on the special menu for probably eight years now. What do they call it? I've forgotten. It's a surf and turf thing. Okay. So it's lobster and I believe Wagyu as well. There was a place that I used to go to. Casey, there's one in Media still. It's called Ozzy. And there was one in Villanova that closed, unfortunately. But theirs was called the Godzilla thing.
I love that. It was filet and lobster. And then they've got pending menus at Cornerstone Bistro, Hook and Ladder, and Barclay Prime. So diners can, diners can enhance their experience with the Iwate Wagyu Passport, a fun and interactive way to track their visits to all seven restaurants.
Take out a loan before you go. Oh, my God. You're talking about some heavy expenses here. Well, this is why, like, if I go to a place like this, I make sure that I go with Preston and Rochelle because Rochelle always pays. She does. You know, I love... So I'm not a steak eater. I'm not a red meat eater, really. But the Japanese steakhouses, I love. And I don't get the steak, but they have other things. They...
They routinely have other things on the menu that I really love. So, yeah. So, if you get the passport and you complete the journey, you receive a prize and social media recognition from Wagyu Sommelier.
Enjoy your bowel movement. Oh, I thought that was kind of interesting. Here's an interesting and important distinction, too, and I've heard this before. Okay, it says here, Preston, all Kobe beef is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu is Kobe. Kobe beef is top-of-the-line Wagyu. Only a couple restaurants in the U.S. are authorized to sell it. I believe Barclay Prime is one of them. So you have to be authorized to sell it? Wow. Wow.
All right, let's see if somebody knows what movie this is from. Hey! Hey! What are you doing? Dude, if you get the nachos stuck together, that's one nacho. All right, we'll go to Joe, see if he knows. Joe, good morning. Hey, Gadzooks. Gadzooks, by the way, what movie is that from? That would be Saving Silverman. Love it. Yeah! Woo!
Hang on a second. Rock and roll! I thought we did winning music. We don't do that here. No, we don't do that. All right, Joe, here's what we have for you. All right, Joe. What do we have? Oh, we have a pair of tickets as MMR rocks nine-inch nails. Peel it back to our Wednesday, August 27th at Wells Fargo Center. Tickets are on sale right now via Ticketmaster. Just go to WMMR.com for complete details. Here is the next movie clip. Let's see if you can identify this. Wow, that's spicy.
You sold me. I'll take a thousand of those buffalo wings because I got 500 buffalo I'm teaching how to fly. That's great. 215-263-WMMR. Call now. Order up.
All right, this is a great article. Steve sent this over to me. With the Super Bowl coming up on Super Bowl Sunday, it is the perfect opportunity for you to get an impossible reservation in Philadelphia. I never thought of this. So people obviously will be quite busy. And if football is not your thing, or if you think you can split the two, be able to slip off to dinner and catch some of the game later on or save it,
This is your opportunity on Open Table. As of the time of writing of this article, and a lot of these are super-duper exclusive restaurants that I have never even heard of because they're so hard to get into. Vernick Fish has a couple of tables available. You can seat you and your date at 6.30 and 7.30. Oh, I'm sorry. That's 6.45 and 7.00 and 7.15. Bastia.
has some stuff open as well. And you can get into Fiorella as well, as of now, if you make these reservations. The Eagles going to the Super Bowl is a holiday that isn't imposed upon employers or banks like Thanksgiving or Christmas, but when restaurants are generally closed anyway, or if they're open, you're competing for reservations against everyone else who has decided to go out to eat.
But these spots are going to be having open slots. Listen, you know what a ghost town it is out on the streets when the game starts. Here's the thing, though. Some of the impossible restaurants to get into, according to this article, are closed on Sundays. So the birds won't help you get into Mon Royal Sushi.
uh, Andrea Rio, uh, in Westchester, uh, her place, supper club, none of those, but there were some other ones that I saw, uh, like, um, leave you a Majora. No, not labia Majora. I thought, I thought laser wolf was on here as well. Uh,
Is Zahava on there or anything? Let me see. Kalaya. And Ogawa's, Omisaki Bar. So there's a lot where you can actually get into now if that's been a goal of yours. These are places that, you know... Yeah, Marissa knows about those. Marissa knows them all. I've never... Yeah, I've casually heard of them, but I'm sure...
It's not the place you go to on a whim. You can listen to her visit Delicious... Or you can check out Delicious City Podcast to get more information. And don't forget, we're giving away tickets to their Tasty Soiree, which is on Sunday. And tickets are available to buy those.
If you're a foodie, check out DeliciousCityPodcast.com to get tickets. All right, let's see if you know what movie this is from. Wow, that's spicy. You sold me. I'll take a thousand of those buffalo wings because I got 500 buffalo I'm teaching how to fly. All right, we're going to go to Jason and see if he knows. Hey, Jason, morning, bud.
Morning. Ready? Yeah. Okay. I missed it. Thank you for doing that, Jason. I did too. I did too. Damn it. Jason, one more time. Give it to us. Ready? Okay. All right, Jason, what is the movie? For Your Consideration. That's correct. Yes. A Christopher Guest film, For Your Consideration. The ready has to be delivered properly, by the way. And Kathy, can you give us a proper ready? You're right. Yeah. All right, do it. Ready? Okay.
Okay. Yeah. Is that right? Or is the okay word? Ready? Okay. Or is that not right? It's like a yell. Ready? Okay. Yeah. And you got to get like, it's so that everybody gets ready and then they can say okay at the same time and then they start the cheer. Okay. Got it. Ready? Okay. It sounds more militaristic then. Right? Well. Okay. Ready? I mean, listen, they are like little soldiers. There's the cheerleaders. Little soldiers. Yeah. All right. So listen, Jason. Are you ready?
You just won yourself a pair of tickets for the Sixers game tonight versus the Denver Nuggets at Wells Fargo Center. Single game tickets are on sale now at Sixers.com. Here's our next food clip. Name it. What are you feeding this dog? Caramel chili. He likes it. All right, 215-263-WMMR. Ah!
Time for the fast food roundup. I got a series of stories that I have to do exclusively with fast food. We're going to start with the fact that Burger King is selling cheeseburgers for a dollar. What? But you have to act quickly to make most of the deal. To make the most of the deal. The burger chain, which has around 7,000 locations in the U.S.,
Uh, is selling cheeseburgers for just $1 until February 2nd. There's a little bit of a caveat. Some of them are pre-eaten. Uh, no, no. Uh, customers need to be a member of Burger King's Royal Perks membership program to access the deal and can score the cheap burger through the app. Uh,
In a post, the chain hailed the deal as a way to beat seasonal blues. That's not the only deal that they're offering. Royal Parks member can also take advantage of $5 duos and $7 trios. I don't really know what that means. And also customers can pick a variety of two items for $5 or three for $7.
The items include the Whopper Junior, the original chicken sandwich, the bacon cheeseburger, medium fries, eight-piece chicken fries, and a medium soft drink. All right, two things. One thing concerning Burger King. Apparently, they have pickle fries now. I'm down with that. Yeah, I saw that. Instagram taught me that earlier this week. And then also, like the $5 meal deals. I'm going to McDonald's, man. They have a $5 meal deal. Well, I prefer the McDouble, but you get a McDouble, small fries, four-piece nuggets, and a drink.
for five bucks. That's nice. That's really nice. Let's not forget about Duncan's $5 meal deal too. That's right. You get the coffee and the two breakfast sandwiches or wraps. I mean, they're all competing with each other but it's a smart move because people are hurting financially and this definitely helps. Now, I think I've mentioned this before.
Yeah, this came out in November, but I'm going to reiterate because we were talking about Roy Rogers the other day. I think you brought something up. I did. Yeah, they're making a comeback. Yeah, so they still have more than 600 restaurants in the U.S. They're just not in our area as much anymore. So for the first time in decades, they're opening a franchise in Cherry Hill.
But I think we've hit this before. So they are, they've been making gradual comeback in recent years with few of them, 40 locations total, mostly in America. Oh, I'm sorry. They once had 600 restaurants. Oh. Now they only have 40. Sorry about that. That's a big difference. New Jersey currently has two locations, the shore towns of Brick Township and Pine Beach.
and seven Pennsylvania spots, all in travel plazas in the southern half of the state. We were talking about that. Really, when I was going to Roy's, it was always at rest stops. Yeah. The new space is at 614 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill.
And since this came out in November, I assume it's already open. I'm not 100% sure, but just wanted to pass that along. I'll say it again. Damn it, and I mean it. Their burgers are really good. Also, their fried chicken. There was one on the corner of Route 30 and 252. And Steve, when my mom would go away, my dad was not exactly a high-caliber chef. So we would either go to El Primo Pizza, which has since burnt down, or Roy Rogers.
It's one of the things that you get at a place that obviously you're going there. They're known for their roast beef, but I've said this before. There's a place for years, Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. I went there for the frigging chicken. All right, so another fast food roundup story. During the Super Bowl, February 9th, Chipotle...
is spicing things up by giving away 50,000 free entrees. 50,000 free entrees to one lucky winner? Yeah, so... No, not one lucky winner. 50,000 people. How long would it take to eat 50,000 entrees? Your entire life. Let's see. If I had a Chipotle for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, right? You crunch the numbers. How many years is 50,000 days? Look that up first. All right, so it would take me about 50 years because...
If you did that every day, three meals a day, every day, that'd be about $1,095 per year.
Times 50. Okay. Yeah. So fans can snag one by watching for extra moments in the game, like fourth down conversions or two point plays when Chipotle drops text to claim codes on its social media. So that's when they'll do that. So they kind of do like a prop bag kind of thing. But you have to be quick. The first to text the code to 888222 gets the prize until the max for each post is reached. Okay.
So they're kind of playing a little game. That's pretty clever. You'll be able to join in, yeah, during the game. For more information on the extra Sunday promotion and their free guac and queso blanco giveaway on February 10th, you can check out Chipotle's website as well. And then, oh, that's it for the fast food roundup. So, yeah! Yeah!
And one thing, Nick, what I wanted to find the appropriate time to do this. I have a gift that's connoisseur related for Casey. Oh, yeah. Do I get to eat it? Nope.
Before you give it to him, let me get our... It's a simple thing, Case, but you've mentioned this a lot. I was in the store the other day and I thought this might be nice for you. This is an air fryer recipe book. I know you've been using it a lot. Shut the front door. I was really intrigued by your steak recipe the other day. I started leafing through. There's 78 recipes.
Do you have an air fryer? No, but you've talked so much about it and so glowingly that I think I'm going to buy one. And you figured maybe this would shut you up. No, honestly, like, listen, air fryers aren't that expensive. And you don't have to break the bank in order to get, like, a good one. Like, I'll just make some really, really good ones. I prefer the... I had a basket one before. It's actually in our kitchen now. I prefer the bucket one that the... It's a ninja variety. But, dude...
I'm telling you, it makes things so easy and also really, really tasteful. And you get, you know, things cook really, really quick. Perfect. And healthier instead of using oil, right? No doubt. All right. Let's see if you know what movie this is from. What are you feeding this dog? Caramel chili. He likes it. All right. We will go to Carol. Hi there, Carol. Hi. All right. Carol, what movie is that clip from? Grum.
Grumpier Old Men. Yes. Absolutely correct.
And you got it right. You get a prize. Here we go. Well, Carol, I hope you're free tonight because I got a pair of tickets for the Sixers game. They are playing the Denver Nuggets at the Wells Fargo Center tonight. Single game tickets are available right now at Sixers.com. All right. We have another clip to play. That's from a movie that talks about food. Here we go. Mrs. Flats makes a great seven layer dip. I'll tell you that. Oh, I bet she does. I do. The secret is an extra layer, an eight layer dip.
Oh, sneaky. I love that. All right, 215-263-WMMR if you know what movie that is. Call. Order up.
Real quick before I get into this next story, it has to do with chocolate. And I want to thank Chris Curtin who stopped in this morning from Eclat Chocolate in Westchester and dropped off what we talked about not that long ago, the G Love Kitchen Sink Chocolate Bar. Nick, I have one here. I'm going to throw it over to you. Because I want you to enjoy it.
You want to take a little bite of it and give it a sample live on air? We were actually talking to G-Love the other day. It was off air, and he was going on about how fantastic it is. And it's got a lot of really cool stuff in it. So thank you, Chris, for bringing those by. It was really nice. Yeah. We might be hearing from G-Love soon. He partnered up with these guys, and they're making them for anyone? It is for a charity, and it is for having a brain park. Project Home. Project Home. Nice. Is my name Skip? I forget it.
That's a movie. Why? No, no, no, my name. I know you gave me these, but I wanted a chocolate bar. There you go, dude. We have several of them. Kathy, are your feelings hurt because you don't have a chocolate bar? No, but I mean, I'll get my period. Oh my God! I'm sorry. I threw it too hard at you. It was a bad catch. It's okay, buddy. I'll go on.
These are really good. There's like a little bit of like a Rice Krispie crunch in here. Yes, like an Ashley's bar. There's crunch in there and there should be some pretzel in there if I recall. I don't have the actual recipe in front of me. I hope Casey gets one of these because they're good. All right. Anyhow, the reason I brought that up is because I do have a chocolate story, but it has to do with a recall, okay? And so federal officials...
have upgraded to chocolate recall to the highest risk level over fears of consuming the product could cause serious adverse health consequences or death. Ooh. Chocolate.
So three products from Cal Yee Farm, and they are dark chocolate almonds, dark chocolate apricots, and dark chocolate walnuts, have all been given a class one classification for containing undeclared milk, according to the FDA. Undeclared milk. And that can lead to serious health issues for people with milk allergies, including hives, cramps, dizziness, swollen vocal cords, unconsciousness, and even can cause death.
and we're in the red zone. Pennsylvania was mentioned in here, so I just wanted to get the word out about that. So in December, the Cal U Farm posted an allergy alert recalling several of its chocolates, and it does name a number of states, and Pennsylvania is one of them. They recall products including dark chocolate walnuts, dark chocolate raisins,
Yogurt coated almonds. By the way, I love all that stuff. Dark chocolate apricots, tropical trail mix and butter toffee. And they also recall the almonds, mango and chili and hot Cajun sesame sticks. Don't eat anything from this company right now is essentially what they're saying.
But they're working on it. So the recall warned the products may contain milk, soy, wheat, sesame, almonds and FD&C number six food. Quick question. I've heard the term undeclared milk or undeclared in cooking. What does it mean?
I don't know. Okay. Or they didn't post the information, I guess, on the label. Okay, I thought it was an actual cooking term. No, no, no, no, no. Okay. I think it means that they didn't make it clear that this is in the product. What's unclaimed freight? That's freight that no one has picked up. Okay. Okay.
Let's play the clip and see if you know what movie it's from. Mrs. Flats makes a great seven-layer dip, I'll tell you that. Oh, I bet she does. I do. The secret is an extra layer, an eight-layer dip. Oh, sneaky. I love that. All right, we'll go to Eric, try to get an answer. Hi, Eric. Morning, bud. Morning, President. All right, so the movie, please.
Uh, keeping up with the Joneses. Yes, that is correct. Hang on the line. We got a prize for you, my man. All right. For you, I have a four pack of tickets for the Philadelphia golf show. It's this Friday today through Sunday at the greater Philadelphia expo center in Oaks for tickets and information. Visit Philadelphia golf show.com. Are you going Preston? Um, I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it this weekend. I've been before. It's really cool. So I will see if I can sneak out there for sure. Uh,
Hang on a second. Keeping Up with the Joneses. Who was in that? What was that about? Does anybody remember? Yeah, it's the one with Isla Fisher and... Gal Gadot, right? Gal Gadot and... Yes, and Zach Galifianakis. Jon Hamm. Yeah. They're really hot and Zach Galifianakis' not hot wife is Isla Fisher. So there's a scene where they're...
You've seen a scene where she comes out in lingerie. It's Gal Gadot trying on lingerie and she's on the phone with her husband. She's like, we like to call each other while we try on lingerie. And she's insanely beautiful in that. She's also in that movie Date Night with Gal Gadot before her. And she's an Israeli lover of Mark Wahlberg's who's this kind of spy. And she goes, are we going to have sex with them? And
And she goes, because they're very unattractive. All right. One more clip to play. See if you can identify this movie. You could have told us something else. I was at the bank. I was at the store. I ate bad guacamole and I couldn't stop shitting. Any of those would have been fine. All right. 215-263-WMMR. I love that line. All right. One more story.
And we'll end with this one. If you're a pickle fan, as...
Listeners of the connoisseur know that I'm a fanatic for pickles. Grillo's Pickles has delicious Valentine's Day treats for you. The Grillo's Pickles Pickle Bouquet. A do-it-yourself kit that allows you to create an unforgettable edible arrangement is back. And the kit includes a coupon for a jar of Grillo's Pickles, a foam base, tissue paper, a bit of floral filler, a custom pickle vase...
and a personalized card for a message to your person. Let me ask you, they have to have pickle dildos, don't they? I mean, right? Yeah. What? Like a dildo that looks like a pickle, right? Oh, that looks like... Yeah. Probably, I would think so. Not the spread, perhaps. I thought you meant...
That they made pickles exclusively for the use of self-pleasure. I like where you're going. Yeah. That's fine. I like where you're going. Do you remember Marissa made me a pickle bouquet one time? It was wonderful. Which was fantastic. Yeah. You want to say something, Marissa? Hang on a second. Our friends over at Fishtown Pickles are doing a collab right now with Miller's Pretzel Twists. Oh. So it's a pickle wrapped in pretzel.
It looks pretty phallic. Oh, okay. It looks pretty phallic? Yeah. So is the pretzel the balls? Draw the photo. Okay. Oh, my God. Come on. Yeah, this looks like an uncircumcised penis. Yeah, it does. The...
The pretzel is definitely foreskin. But it looks delicious. For sure. I've long loved a nice uncircumcised penis as a snack. Wow. So you can grab this at the Reading Terminal Market now. It looks delicious. It really does. Too cold. Does Fishtown Pickle Project have a booth at Reading Terminal Market? Miller's Pretzel Twist. Miller's Pretzel Twist. All right, cool. And they should do a bouquet. I'm feeling it.
I'm sorry, Fishtown Pickle Project. Anyway, try Preston's Picks there. Yes. Best pickle in the world. I agree. And then...
You can spice up this bouquet with some optional extras like fresh dill, cherry tomatoes, or mozzarella balls. And you can order this at grillos.com. If you're interested, if you have a pickle fan that is on your Valentine's Day list, that is a great option. All right, we'll see if you know what movie this is from. You could have told us something else. I was at the bank. I was at the store. I ate bad guacamole and I couldn't stop sh**.
Any of those would have been fine! I will go...
We'll go to Matt. Hey, Matt. Good morning, bud. Good morning. All right. Name that movie. Anger Management. Yeah. Excellent. And here's what we have for you, Matt. You have a four-pack of tickets for the Philly Golf Show. This today starts today through Sunday at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks. For tickets and information, just visit philadelphiagolfshow.com. All right. Thank you very much. And that's it for the connoisseur. We're going to wrap that segment up.
And thank you for joining. Hopefully you got something out of that. If you missed it from earlier this morning, BirdBot is on the road. Yeah, BirdBot 2.0.
On his way to Cape May. We are currently on Marsh Avenue in Egg Harbor. Egg Harbor Township. All right. Excellent. It's going to go from Broad Street to Bourbon Street. Nick, to hand it off to listener Kevin, and he's the first one to carry BirdBot. Yeah, it was really fun being down that corner of Broad and Patterson. And right after Kevin got there, three more listeners showed up. And I actually, there's this guy that I've met before. His name is Nick as well.
And he works at that place called the Fittler Club that I told you guys about. It's in Center City. He's a bartender. He's a really nice guy. He listens to Preston and Steve every day. He's like, man, it's kind of like a high-end bar and a high-end club. He's like, I wanted to give BirdBot a massage and take him to the bar and stuff. You can still do it. I know, right? Yeah. So, Steve, I was thinking maybe if Kevin, who took BirdBot down to Cape May or is taking him to Cape May, can find a way to maybe get him to the Fittler Club this afternoon or this weekend, Nick, the
The bartender at Fittler Club is going to take really good care of Bird Bot. I don't know if you heard in transit, but we actually had a business offer up some sort of inducement to bring it by there. I forget what the place was. It was a window tinting place. Shades of Gray in Feasterville. Wait, so you bring in Bird Bot? They're going to give you $500 credit. What?
Or $450 credit or something like that. And just so they can bring it there and take pictures with it. That's smart. That is an angle we hadn't thought of. And we have no control over it, but it's a smart thing. Well, maybe if you see Fittler Club or see BirdBot at Fittler Club, Nick will buy you a drink. Yes. And by the way, with BirdBot, think...
Elf on the Shelf. Yes. So think that as far as putting him in situations. I like that idea of giving a massage and all that stuff. So think about these different situations you can incorporate BirdBot into. Hang on. What is this in reference to? What was Josephine's? What were we talking about? It was one of the nice restaurants. The romantic restaurants. Okay. In Lancaster maybe? Well, let me go to this call real quick because I'm not sure what he wants here. Hi, Scott. Good morning. Scott! What?
Morning, Presby! What's up, Scottay? Hey, you brought up Josephine's. Yeah. My son is one of the head waiters there. Oh, okay. Kathy, I know how you love your wine. The wine cellar is spectacular. Oh, okay. Mmm.
All right, and this is one of those locations in Lancaster, Scott? Yes, sir. Okay. And the owner of Josephine's also owns the Beverly, which you also brought up, which is in Lancaster. That's the Bellevue. The Bellevue. Bellevue, yeah. Wow. Okay. And your son is a waiter there? Yes, and Kathy, I'll give you a little hint. Okay. Or maybe you, Preston, because you like your bourbon. Yeah.
Joseph Fiennes is on the bottom floor. They also have a restaurant where you and I can afford, which is upstairs. All right. Go to the bar. Ask the bartender, can I have your address? It's a drink bar.
that they call their address and it's a muddled drink with bourbon. Okay. My God. Really? Frigging spectacular. All right. So the key phrase is to simply ask the bartender, can I have your address? Yes. All right. That's a good idea. I like that. It's very speakeasy-like. Yeah. I love it. Can I see your penis? And then if you go downstairs and you actually eat there,
And he asked for a handjob. No, ask for Junior as your waiter. Okay. Let them know that you know me. Okay. That is my son. Okay. All right. Done and done. Scott, yeah. They will actually take you for a tour through the wine cellar, Kathy. You got to do that. Yeah. And...
If you ask, is your Aunt Millie still giving out handjobs, you'll get a special dessert. I know the owners. They are great people. I know the chef. I love everybody there. And the motif downstairs is that they have all pictures of old movie stars and singers. I mean, this place, I can't afford the soup. It's $34. It's $34.
It sounds wild, though. Thanks for the... We got to let you go, but we appreciate the tip, buddy. Thank you. Not a problem. You guys have a great day. You too. Take care of yourself, man. I've said it before. You can go out there into Lancaster City and do like an overnight stay. I mean, it's close enough to even do a day trip, but like there is plenty to do there. It's such a cute city that I think people...
don't know that. Yeah. I don't think about going there. Yeah, you should because they do have good restaurants like this. They've got nice cocktail bars. Why don't you take Preston Town to the Lancaster City? Yeah, so it's definitely a place to go. People talk about going into Philly to do an overnight stay. You can do it there as well. All right, we got to wrap up, gang. We're going to take a break, come back in a second, and I don't even know what we're doing. Oh, Bizarre Five. We're doing that next. We'll be right back. Stay with us. Bizarre.com

on a No Sad Bro Friday morning. Wait a minute. Why are you saying it? Let's sing it. How about that? No sad bro. No sad bro. No sad bro. No sad bro. No sad bro. No sad bro.
All right, thank you. It's official. No sad, bro. Let's take a look at traffic and then we will move on to the B-File. Kathy, what's going on? A slow-moving maintenance crew, 95 southbound between 452 and Chichester Avenue has it jammed there.
Also southbound slowing from Cotman through to Bridge on the Vine westbound. You're slow from 95 to the Schuylkill eastbound from the Schuylkill to Broad. Schuylkill eastbound backing up from Montgomery to the Vine. In Newcastle, Delaware, Route 40 at Broadleaf Drive, a broken water main has some of the lanes blocked there. 42 north slowing from 55 to 295. That was construction. That's now cleared.
This traffic report brought to you by Whole Foods Market. The love affair is burning hot at Whole Foods Market. Stop in for Valentine's Day deals on delicious desires like roses, surf and turf, and more through February 14th. And that's your traffic on 93.3 WMMR. All right, we'll get some Bizarre File stories to you. Now, Bizarre. WMMR presents Kristen and Steve's Bizarre File. Bizarre.
I'm going to begin with one in Australia. A Queensland man in his 50s is very lucky to be alive after he was attacked by a massive kangaroo while walking to his car, having suffered serious hip injuries and wounds to his arms and chest. I'm beginning to hate those frigging things. The Rural Fire Brigade's Rick Underhill said the man would have bled to death had his next-door neighbor not been home to assist him with the aftermath.
Uh, the man encountered two kangaroos, one male, one female on his property. The female kangaroo fled before the other. He said the other quote bastard turned around and attacked him. Uh,
He estimated the animal was around six feet tall and weighed at least 220 pounds. That's a big-ass animal. Underhill said it made a hell of a mess of this poor man. It's damaged him really bad. The man was driven to a hospital and eventually was airlifted to another one where he was in stable condition. There were public warnings in place for two large kangaroos.
in the Willows area that may pose a danger. And some of these friggin' things look like they're using steroids. Kangaroo attacks are rare, but they can occur when the animal feels threatened. Underhill said, this bastard wasn't provoked. I've been out here 13, 14 years, and I've never seen a problem out here, ever. And I spent 20 years in the Army, for instance, in all sorts of conditions, and I have never, ever seen a roo attack someone before. Friggin' bastard. So it beat the piss out of this guy.
A 94-year-old Texas woman was cited on Friday for allegedly driving. This is a 94-year-old woman. Yeah. 106 miles an hour on Interstate 84. Go, Grandma. And also, she failed to secure...
A child passenger in the vehicle and also she was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. Elizabeth Perez of El Paso was cited and according to state police, the laser detector clocked her 2013 Dodge four-door and Perez was driving at 106 miles an hour. The presumptive fine for the violations is $1,150.
Failing to yield was $265. The passenger seat is $115. And driving without insurance is another $265 fine. The Yan Befengia Wildlife Zoo in China's Sichuan Province.
has started selling bottled tiger urine. And they're selling it as a cure for arthritis. Oh, yeah, that's good piss. The zoo is offering 250-gram bottles of medical tiger urine from Siberian tigers online.
for about, it says 50 yon, so I'm not sure how many dollars that is. The product claims to have therapeutic effects on conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, sprains, and muscle pain. What was that noise? That's me gawking for tiger piss. Oh.
Because I heard a crunch earlier in Kathy's traffic. I'm like, what's going on here? So this is for about 10 bucks. Nick just pulled up the information. The zoo recommends mixing urine with white wine and
and applying it to the affected area with ginger slices. That sounds delightful. Alternatively, it can be consumed orally, although users are advised to stop if they experience any allergic reactions. Isn't this great, just watching the sunset and sipping some tiger piss? According to zoo staff, the urine is collected from basins after the tigers urinate.
But it remains unclear whether it undergoes any disinfection process before being sold. Have you ever tried a tiger turd? Despite the bold claims, experts have criticized the zoo for promoting unverified remedies. Yeah, they do all this sort of stuff. The zoo staff maintains that they possess a valid business license to sell tiger urine, although it's unclear whether this license specifically permits the sale of medicinal products or not. What was the name of the drink that Charlie...
Sold on, it's always, what was it? Oh, fight milk. Oh, fight milk. I think it was made with something from a tiger. So after her 95-year-old father passed away, 66-year-old Kathleen delivered the eulogy at his funeral in Florida.
And apparently her eulogy didn't mention her sister's 24-year-old daughter, which led 60-year-old Maureen to walk over and slam Kathleen with her chest, who allegedly retaliated by grabbing Maureen's hair and pulling it backward. What is my name, Skip? This is at the wake, okay? Wow.
And this is at the actual funeral. So police said it wasn't clear if the strikes at Kathleen's face that followed from Maureen were open hand or closed hand. Wow. But Kathleen was arrested for misdemeanor battery and Maureen was charged with felony battery. It's what he would have wanted. It's not clear if the fight happened inside the church chapel or at a reception on church property that followed the service, which probably doesn't matter at this particular point. A Missouri man.
who's on a lifetime GPS monitoring condition, shot at four kids who knocked at his door while playing ding-dong ditch and chased them down with a vehicle before ordering them out of the car at gunpoint and stealing their car keys. Wow. Melvin Rankin faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and robbery. One alleged victim told police the group had gone to IHOP to eat and then decided to go ding-dong ditch.
And at one point, at one home, they rang the doorbell and saw a man later identified as Rankin. Look out the window. When they rang the doorbell again, the garage opened and they heard a gunshot from inside the garage. They ran to their vehicle and drove off, but were followed by Rankin in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. You like playing ding-dong, Dick?
Do you punk? At a dead end road, Rankin pulled up next to the victims, pointed a sawed-off shotgun with a pistol grip at them, and then demanded they get out of their car and lie on the ground. The victims did as they were told. At one point, Rankin allegedly placed the gun to the back of one of the heads of the victim on the ground and asked, who sent you and where's the gun?
The victims told the suspect they were just kids and apologized for playing ding-dong ditch. Rankin then demanded the car keys, which he took and drove off in his Jeep. Police quickly located Rankin, pulled him over in a traffic stop as he drove his Jeep and arrested him. What's your name, punk? You smell like pancakes. At his home, police found a single-shot 20-gauge shotgun in the garage wrapped in a towel in a drawer. He is, by the way, a registered sex offender on lifetime GPS monitoring. So he's got that going on.
and he decides to do this. Knows how to keep a low profile. He has a history of failing to report as a sex offender and failing to appear for court dates and he also has convictions for breaking and entering, possession of a controlled substance and driving while revoked license. So that's the house they accidentally pick. And he said that he police said he's an admitted Crips gang member and has tattoos on the forearms displaying his gang affiliation. Ding dong ditch. Hey, we're just having fun. And that is what I have.

Friday, not crazy wet, but we're going to have off and on rain today. Mild temperatures. I have about 50 degrees. Does it feel nice standing out there, Nick, at Broad and Paterson? I didn't have a jacket on. Yeah. And I was like, this is not bad. I like that. I like when that happens. Hey, I need to do this. I had forgotten. There were a couple of shards. I tried to get to them earlier during the program. So apologies for my tardiness. You're apologizing? I am apologizing.
and I'd like to start off by this one. It says, hey guys, good afternoon it. He wrote. Yeah, that's applicable. Love you guys. Love your guys' show. Thank you very much for all you do and for the laughs. A great friend of mine of close to 40 years, Glenn Karpowich.
or Carpawitch. Oh, yeah. He's celebrating his 50th birthday, January 31st. He and his wife, Allie, were on your show way back in February 2007 when Glenn proposed to Allie on the air. Ah. And I know he would really appreciate a shout-out for his birthday, and all our friends would laugh about it for the rest of our lives. Glenn and Allie are awesome people, solid friends, huge fans of your show, and I got this email from...
I didn't see the name, damn it. Dee Haviland. Dee's nuts. And it says, go birds from a jet span from the Jersey Shore. That's nice. All right. So there's a shard out for you. All right.
And then this one, this is a really cool guy that I haven't actually spoke to in a long time, but his wife reached out to me. Says, hey, my name is Lauren Sanders, wife of Steve Sanders, former planetarium and observatory coordinator at Eastern University. So he had my family and I out a couple of times. Oh, you mentioned. Yeah, you guys had a great time. To their planetarium. They have an observatory. It was really, really cool. It was a really neat thing to do for my family.
She said he introduced me to MMR and now I'm a faithful listener. He's moved on from Eastern. He worked at Lockheed Martin starting in 2022. And we're celebrating our daughter's second birthday at the beginning of December 2024. And I transitioned out of my job last year to be at home with our daughter full time. We're figuring out how we operate as parents, partners and people because of it.
And going from two salaries to one is a significant shift. And in many ways, we put off doing things for ourselves and each other. But through it all, he's been a rock of our family, working hard, sharing the mental load, and loving us as well. Today was his last day at Lockheed with an incredible team of people. And tomorrow, he starts a new job. His birthday is Friday the 31st today.
And I would love to send him a big, juicy celebratory shout-out for his birthday and new job. And she says, finally, thank you and the whole team at WMMR for being a bright spot in my morning routine. I can always count on you for a good laugh. And I'm making my daughter's breakfast. Sorry to bother you guys at work. And go birds. And that is from Lauren Sanders. So...
Here's a shout out from your wife, Steve. And I hope you're doing well, man. You're a super cool guy. I wanted to do one as well, Preston, if you don't mind. I got this email yesterday and I apologize to this woman for not doing it yesterday. Her name is Robin Wright, believe it or not. Oh, the actress. It's not the actress, I don't think, although she doesn't distinguish. But she says, my name is Robin Wright. My husband's...
birthday is yesterday, Michael, and I wanted to ask for the shout out. He's the best husband ever. He actually saved my life during my battle with cancer. I was in bad shape, but he was beside me every step of the way, and now I'm in remission. So she wanted to send a shout out to her husband, Michael, for his birthday.
I want to give a shout out if that's okay. I coached my last game of basketball last night. Ever, ever, ever. We lost. So if we won, our season might go on. But I want to give a shout out to all these kids that I've been coaching for the last eight years. So Seamus Fossbender.
Julian Oaktay, Peter Pagliotti, AJ Gracie, Aiden Doney, Andrew Boddy, Marty Duffy, who played the national anthem for us on electric guitar before the game, and then also Alex Pogwist. Guys, thank you so much. You were a...
At times, pleasure to coach. I'm glad you put it that way because I heard the story. It's nice, yeah. All right, we're going to do the lesson question. And today we are going to give away a pair of tickets to the MMRBQ. How about that? May 10th at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. So here we go. What reaction video did Gandalf recently see for the first time?
215-263-WMMR. Actually, he was doing, he was making a reaction video. What video was it he was watching for the first time? 215-263-WMMR. If you know the answer to that call right now while you're calling, we'll do the trash. The trash business is a gold mine. 93.3 WMMR.
With Preston and Steve's Hollywood Trash. All right, we'll get the stories after, or we'll get the winner after we get the stories. Steve, what's going on this morning? Well, the great Anthony Mackie telling an audience in Rome he believes that Captain America really doesn't stand for America. When an audience member pointed out that the word America is in his name, Mackie reportedly seemed embarrassed and then muttered under his breath, he's not. Hey!
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are attempting to get Justin Baldini's defamation lawsuit thrown out. In addition, Reynolds is suing Lively for, quote, ruining what had been a pretty good year. Oh, my God.
And finally, Shamar Moore, your wife's man, Preston, star of the show SWAT, and Victoria's Secret model, Jezeree Dizzen, have split. Both Moore and Dizzen admit they would now like to take a whack at banging ugly people. And that's your Hollywood track. We will go and see if we can get a winner. What reaction video did Gandalf recently see for the first time? 215-263-WMMR. We're going to go to Ralph, try and get a winner. Hey, Ralph, morning, bud.
What up, y'all? Yo, man. All right, what movie was Gandalf watching or video? Taking a shot with two girls, one cup. Yeah, two girls and a cup. Woo!
We give you a pair of tickets for the MMRBQ Saturday, May 10. Freedom Mortgage Pavilion lawn tickets start at just $25. First half of the show is GA, general admission, so you can get up close as you would like to for any ticket for the first four bands. And then eight great bands, including Alice in Chains, Three Days Grace, and more. Preston and Steve show side stage. Tickets are on sale now. All the information is available at WMMR.com.
Now, Preston and Steve's Music News on 93.3 WMMR. I will start with this. Vocalist Marianne Faithfull has passed away at 78 years old. The singer's family shared a statement that Marianne passed away peacefully in London in the company of her loving family.
She was known for hits including the single As Tears Go By. Great song. She was also part of the British invasion of US pop charts in the 60s. Faithful was also Mick Jagger's girlfriend at one time. You know what? I know the name Faithful.
I just don't know the songs. Do you know how I confuse her with, often, Dusty Springfield? Okay. And separating their bodies of work. But, yes, I'm familiar with some of her stuff, but I'm in the same boat. Yeah, and I love Dusty Springfield, but I know Marianne Faithfull is held in high regard. So, Mick said in a statement, she was so much part of my life for so long. She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer, and a great actress, and she will always be remembered. She invented the air fryer.
A lot of people don't know that. Wow, I had no idea. She was an actress, too. One of her last projects was lending her voice to a scene in Dune Part 1. How about that? She was one of the Bene Gesserit ancestors' voices. And among the tributes that came pouring in was one from Metallica. The band posted a gallery of photos of...
of the various band members with Faithful, along with a message from Lars Ulrich saying, in part, Thank you, Marianne, for the good times, for your kindness, for the great stories, for your fearlessness. Faithful had performed The Memory Remains with Metallica on Saturday Night Live in 1997. Wow. As well as at the band's 30th anniversary show at the Fillmore in San Francisco in 2011. And it is the only time in the band's history that there was a guest vocalist
on one of its songs. I know they did a song, they did an album with Lou Reed. Right. But I think that was considered a different story. Didn't they do something with Josh Groban? Oh, I don't, do we have a clip of that somewhere? You raised me up. Shut
I remember that. Yeah. Not a critical fave. Fire Aid took place last night and this morning. It was an event so huge it had to happen in two locations in Los Angeles. The Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum. The lineup of performers spanned from the 60s to present day from Stephen Stills and Graham Nash at Jelly Roll and Tate McRae.
One of the highlights of the night was Nirvana's remaining members reuniting for the cause. It kicked off at 9.30 p.m. It didn't end until 3.15 in the morning. So I was looking at some snippets and listening to some of the music, and I hope they got every bit of that on video because it looks pretty amazing. Yeah, they're going to air some of it later, Steve. And one of the highlights that I saw this morning was John Mayer covered...
Tom Petty doing Free Falling. Wow. It was just John on guitar. It's awesome. It's really, really good. There are a couple of clips over there if you want to post them. A streamed live, we streamed live on most platforms that did. MCs included Billy Crystal, Samuel L. Jackson, Quinta Brunson, Miles Teller, and others. And the list of performers and songs they performed are available if you want to see those. So yeah, we'll play a clip. Here is Graham Nash with Stephen Still. Teach your children well.
Their father's hell is slowly going by. They're on your dreams. The one they need is the one you know by.
Graham, or Stephen Sills, I'm sorry, also played with Mike Campbell and played For What It's Worth. Great song. Buffalo Springfield. One of my favorite songs. We have another clip. This is John Fogerty performing. And Fogerty got up. Who's set did he come out with? I've got the full list of everybody here. Josh Groban. No, it was not Josh Groban. You raised me.
No, I have the list here. He came out with, oh man, it is so long. Yeah. Two eyeballs on this. This full list, Casey, see if you see it on here. Oh, here it is, right here. The Black Crowes. Yep. There we go. Just a little bird. We're going to talk to it in a second. Tell me that. Here we go. I'm falling down. Have you ever? Love this song. Have you ever?
Coming down the sunny day. I'm sorry, who's that singing? That's John Pogarty. Wow, it sounds like a woman. It does, yeah. As these guys get older, their voices change a little bit. A lot of putting. Doesn't sound exactly the same. Here's a clip of Billie Eilish playing with Green Day. I'll be right back. I'll be right back.
And then we have Green Day playing When I Come Around. Here's a little clip of that. When I come around.
So Joni Mitchell sang Both Sides Now. Pink did a few songs, including Me and Bobby McGee and What About Us. Rod Stewart did Forever Young, Maggie Mae, People Get Ready. Earth, Wind & Fire did September and Shining Star. Black Crows, like I said, they got up and did Remedy. Crazy. Yeah, this is wonderful. No Doubt played Just a Girl, Don't Speak and Spiderwebs. Stevie Nicks played Stand Back, Landslide and Edge of Seventeen. You know who's missing?
Hasselhoff. Hasselhoff. At Nirvana, Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, and Chris Novoselic got together. They played Breed. They had guest lead vocalist St. Vincent. They played School with Kim Gordon. Territorial Pissings with Joan Jett. And then All Apologies was sung by Violet Grohl. We'll just go All Apologies. I apologize to any... I apologize to...
But it goes on and on. Stevie Wonder, Billie Eilish, Sting saying, message in a bottle, driven to tears, and fragile. And then this is really cool because Stevie Wonder got up and played and he did Superstition with Sting before Higher Ground with Sting and Flea coming up and playing. Pretty awesome. Lady Gaga closed out the show. Nick, she played Shiloh. Yeah. Always remember us this way.
Slash also came out with The Black Rose, other than John Fogerty, and they did Going to California by Zeppelin. Awesome, awesome, awesome. So, yeah, can't wait to see a professional mix and all of that. They have a lot to work with. Yep. All right, and then, finally, Grammys are this weekend. They air live on Sunday, 8 o'clock on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Trevor Noah is set to host.
There's going to be tons of performers, as they always have at the Grammys. Lainey Wilson, Brad Paisley, Janelle Monae, Billie Eilish, Chaperone, Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims. Beyonce leads the pack. She's got 11 nominations, including Record of the Year and Album of the Year, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Charlie XCX.
are all tied in second place with seven noms each. Chaperone, Sabrina, Carpenter, meanwhile, are facing off for Best New Artist this year. I like... For me, the Grammys are... It's a good opportunity to hear or experience artists that I may not have otherwise. Yeah. Or songs that you've heard of but never heard. You know what I mean? So I really gained an appreciation for Post Malone at the Grammys playing some stuff. And then... Do we have any idea what the Post...
Grammy's tribute show is? I've heard nothing about that this year. Do you think they're suspending it this year? I don't know if they've stopped doing it or what, but they've done it in the past for like Paul McCartney and the Bee Gees. I like it! Why are you wasting my time?
He doesn't care for it. This is too bad. He seems like such a nice guy. Looks can be deceiving, bro. Yep, they can. All right, anyhow. Put this in one hand and crap in the other. That's all I have in music news. We have to say goodbye to one of our interns. Yes. So, ladies and gentlemen, we are saying goodbye to intern James Barnes. Yeah.
Who is here with us this morning, James. This is always bittersweet. How you doing, man? I'm doing wonderful. How are you guys? We're doing all right, bud. All right, so James is in a band. Yes. We mentioned this a little while back. They're called Double Vision. Yes, sir. And we had mentioned the fact they were playing the Stone Pony a little while back. Whiskey A Go-Go. You're going to California. When is that happening? That is happening May 22nd, 2025. Very nice. We fly out to California.
L.A. So if you're somebody who listens to the show in that area, again, the date for the whiskey? May 22nd, 10 p.m., the Whiskey A Go-Go. Now, we have these little fun facts about the interns, and I don't know why I never saw James's, but I did not know this.
James has an identical twin brother. Didn't know that. And Grace has a twin sister. Yes. One of our other interns. That's weird. It is. And so, is he in the band? He is. My identical twin brother, Ace. Hi, Ace. I know you're listening on the radio at home. Yeah, we started the band, geez, three years ago now. Hence the name Double Vision. Double Vision. I see that all makes sense now. I just thought you were a foreigner fan. No.
James, how old are you? I'm 20. I love the fact that your favorite bands are Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, and Bon Jovi. How old is your brother? 20. 20, you should ask. Where did you pick up this music from? Because there's a lot of new music, and usually younger people tend to gravitate towards newer music. What is it about this music? How did this come into your world? I don't know. I got it from the radio. Seriously?
Serious XM? Yeah. 39 Hair Nation. That's my jam. You know you're not supposed to plug other things. I know. I'm sorry. You guys as well. You guys just played Def Leppard today. Yeah, that's right. I know. That's why you should have said WMMR. That's right. You'll learn. Yeah, you'll learn. I'll learn eventually. I got it from sources completely outside your industry. Right.
And also, you were a... Casey, do you know about his swimming prowess? No. Four-year varsity swimmer in high school as well as captain of the swim team. Oh, wow. Okay, what were your events? I was 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, and then I swam backstroke in the medley. I always ask, what was your best time in 53? 27-7. Okay, not bad. But that's synchronized swimming. Yeah, I mean, I think I might have topped out at Lake...
the high 28s, you know? But like really, I mean like high school like really, really good. The best is the relays. Yeah. Because they mess up everybody's time and you sound faster than you are. All right. All right. So what's next for you, James? Next, uh,
Other than going to California and doing stuff with the band. I'm working right now for the record label at Rowan University, Red Oak Records. I work in public relations. They have a record label at Rowan University? I know they have a great radio station, but you work for the record label? Yes, sir. Your tract was all...
industry-based and business-based tangential to the music industry. Yes, correct. I'm a music industry business major at Rowan, so yeah. That's planning, young man. So what do you ultimately want to do with a degree like that? So with a degree, I don't know, maybe do something journalism-related, maybe something public relations-related.
Perhaps write for like a music journal? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. But being an artist is like top. Yeah, that's if the musician side of things. Exactly. But you got to have something else. Got to have your backup plan. I got a degree for a reason, so. You're Joe Cetriani. It was a music teacher and then the band. Yeah, it took off. So there we go. Nice.
Nice. Well, you've been a great intern. You do great work. And we do appreciate that very much. And hopefully you learned a couple things. I think I did. Excellent. All right. We'll talk to you about the plugging other. My bad. I also heard it on MMR. Yeah. All right, James. Good luck to you, man. Thank you so much. James Barnes.
Final day here with us on the President's Team Show. All right, we're going to take a quick break. We will wrap up our program. We'll give away the letter of the day, word of the week prize as well when we get back. And then Pierre's got you. For this note, Sad Bro Friday. Stay put.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a place to listen to MMR online nationwide where you could sign up for an MMR insider newsletter so you never miss the important stuff on All Things Rock. Maybe see Preston and Steve Daily Rush videos. Look for upcoming shows on a comprehensive concert calendar. See when and where we'll be out and about. Pick up some MMR gear and like a whole lot more. Well, it turns out there's a website that does all that.
WMMR.com and it's always available like right now on your computer or phone or whatever and we even made a catchy little jingle so you remember it just a little bit of fuel for you this morning 93.3 WMMR that is Dream Theater new song called Midnight Messiah
And you get every little bit of the band that you want out of that song right there. I was listening very closely. Had the headphones on. They're changing the feels around throughout the song. Mike's doing his signature fills. Petrucci is shredding. It's what you want. It's what you want from Dream Theater. Our imaging guru, Zach, walked by. He's the biggest Dream Theater fan in the world. Pumping his fist. Love it. Love it. All right. It's about 10.50. The President and Steve Show on this Friday morning as...
We are coming to a close. Today has been a blast. I have enjoyed the hell out of today's program. We did a lot. We had our friend Kate Flannery stop in this morning. We went on 6 ABC with Matt and Tam and we debuted
and showed everyone the first looks of him. And then we sent BirdBot out of the nest and flying free in the sky. Listener Kevin was the first one to pick him up, and we don't know where he goes now. So we're going to have to keep an eye. We're going to find out where he is. We're going to have to keep an eye on the Instagram account at I are at BirdBot.
BirdBot Philly, if you want to follow along. And please go on Instagram and follow that account at BirdBot Philly. But keep in mind, there's also a BirdBot Facebook group. And if you want to communicate with other people who have BirdBot or would you like to do at BirdBot, that's all right there. And it is now in your hands. We simply sit back and observe. Now, we can encourage on the air if we want to. And that's what we're going to try to do. So all we ask is that you keep BirdBot in...
in the general Philadelphia region until at least Wednesday or Thursday before heading to New Orleans. And then we want to see him on Bourbon Street. That's exactly right. It's funny because Jennifer Frederick, I was corresponding with her this morning and I don't necessarily know if she got it because she's like, okay, we're going to be here. Can you get, you know, I'm like, it's out of our hands, really. She is a very smart woman. She gets it. She just wants you to make it happen. Yeah.
I love it. Well, I have the latest BirdBot ding just a couple minutes ago is on Ocean Drive in Cape May. All right. Right by Bumblebee Foods. Okay. Oh! If somebody has BirdBot other than your show...
Like, for example, my show, Can They Call Me? Yes. We've been encouraging that. We're encouraging you to interact, if you have BirdBot, with the radio station at any point in time. Yeah. Okay. Because I heard the launch with Nicholas earlier, but then it got so high in the sky, I couldn't see it anymore. Right. And then I don't know where it is, but...
So who's the first cat that got it? A guy named Kevin. That cat can really play. Yes, he can. Look out for him. Kevin! And it's going to be up to him to pass it on to the next person. He still got it? Yes. Because he was headed to Cape May for work. Oh, okay. So we're like, okay, take him to Cape May, but then you've got to get him back here. So he's going to come back. I don't know how long he's going to spend. He's going to have it for a little while. He said later today he'll be back in Philly. So his job is here. I mean, normally his job is here, but he had an event. Not an event. He had a work...
place location. When we do stuff, it's events. He was working down at Cape May, so that's why he took it down there today. Yeah, and essentially we want people to take pictures from BirdBot, post them on social media, and then hand them off to other people. Now, we had this interesting thing happen, Pierre. We had a text from a, it was called Shades of Grey. It was a window tinting business.
And they offered up, they said, whoever brings BirdBot by here, we'll give them, I think it was like a $450 credit. Come on. Yeah. And we were like, oh my God, we never thought about that. Encourage businesses. That businesses want to throw incentives out there to bring BirdBot by. And that's totally up to you. This is out of, as we said, this is out of our hands now. It's all...
That's exactly what we're looking for. Businesses, whatever. It's all the Philadelphia spirit. However you get it done, fine by us. And so they want BirdBot to come by to have a picture taken and then they would have to hand it off to somebody else. So information like that, you go to the Facebook group and you should be able to hopefully find that out and connect with other BirdBot people.
Cool. So yeah, it's a, this is fun. Yeah. Yeah. I'm excited that when we kicked around the ideas of what to do, we were like, well, we could bring BirdBot back. And then we, we did the math and we're like, well, it worked in 2018. But in my mind, I'm like, is anybody really going to care again? Yes. They're all over it. So I'm very, I mean, it's,
Just as exciting as 2018. Just in the casual mentions, people were making inquiries about where they could go and see. And it really is luck of the joint. Now, there is something going on tomorrow, Preston, which, if we were happy... Yeah, Elmwood Park Zoo is having an Eagles pep rally, and they're going to have the cheerleaders and Swoop and
the pep band, and Brian Dawkins is going to be there. And we got a picture with BirdBot and Brian Dawkins in 2018. Nice. We got to do it again. So whoever has BirdBot tomorrow between 11 and 2, we're hoping you'll take it by the Elmwood Park Zoo because he's going to be there and he'll get a picture and you'll get to meet him if you have BirdBot with you too. Yeah, yeah. And the staff at Elmwood Park Zoo has been briefed. Okay. They are on the lookout for him to come there. And if you bring him there, you'll get your picture with Dawkins. So we're hoping that'll work.
There's really no control that we can have just other than suggesting and trying to border collie it a little bit, but it will go where it's going to go. Border collie it. Yep.
All right, we need to get a letter of the day from you. All right, here we go. Preston and Steve on 93.3 WMMR. Now, the Daily Letter. And the Preston and Steve Show brought to you today by the letter... A as in animal. All right, A. And we now have a word. We'll take caller number 4215263WMMR.
See if you can identify that word. And the prize is right here, and we'll give it to you. So what are you doing today, man? I first want to shout out your intern, James, to know that he listened to me growing up and got his love upon Jovi and...
Those other bands, by virtue of listening to my program, I mean, I was moved almost to tears listening to that. You must feel like a father to him at this point. I am a father figure to him. He gave me money the first day he met me. He said, I hope you find something, buddy. And so I found that to be a compliment. He's never going to live that down. Not from us. Nor should he, by the way, because here's the deal on satellite radio. Some fine varieties of stations they got.
Pearl Jam Station, a Bruce Station, a Jimmy Buffett Station, classic rock, oldies rock, hard rock, every rock. However, each station only has a fairly limited supply of that song. If you listen to that station long enough, you'll hear those songs pretty much the same ones over and over again. And...
Their news stations and sports stations are live. Their DJ, their music stations, and there's not a live person to be found for 20 miles. We have former DJs, Earl Bailey, Mark.
Mark Goodman and others that have joined Satellite. They record those shows weeks in advance. They might say it's Friday morning. Pearson. Yeah, Pearson. They record them in their basement. So the idea that it's live and local, even though they are good at making it sound like it, it's not. But, James, thank you for listening, for having that choice of the satellite. Instead, you listen to me because I've been in space longer than Satellite Radio has. Exactly. So thank you.
Pierre, I don't know if you remember this, but there's a publication in our city that is very popular. Everyone knows it. And they sent in probably their youngest, newest hire to interview me one time. And when I was bringing him into the studio, Pierre walked out and I said, oh, you know, when people come to do these interviews...
Either they know about us or they've researched us before they come to interview you. At least a bit. So I just said, oh, this is Pierre Robert. And Pierre goes, I just started working here. And the kid goes, oh my gosh, that's great. Congratulations. And I was like, oh no, here we go. And Pierre dove right into it and started talking about how he just got here and he's really excited to work for this new station. And I was just like, oh, this poor kid. What should they do? I'm sorry, James. You're a lovely guy. And you're a twin. And you got a band. Yeah.
And you've got to listen to MMR from this point forward. All right. So on my program today, after that lovely admonition, I will have another pair of teeth. Sorry, I couldn't help it. That's all right. I love it. I couldn't help it.
We've got Hooters tickets, and it just went on sale as of 10 a.m. for that show, the 45th anniversary tour at the Met. We're going to do a giant block of the Hooters. That'll be Saturday, May 17th, one week after the barbecue. We've got certainly a block of the Hooters in honor of that. A block of Ozzy. AIC, we're also going to play. We did a pre-block yesterday of some of the Fire Aid artists. I watched it until 3.30 in the morning, I think.
until it ended with Stevie Wonder and Sting on stage. There were some amazing combinations. We have a couple of the songs, so we're going to see if we can pull a few of those. There were some, I mean, all kinds of music was represented, but there were some cool rock moments. Speaking of the Hooters, I believe Eric and Rob are going to come in next week because we're going to do this thing that I'm sure Preston's going to allude to in a second, but Steve, I wanted to share this with you and I meant to tell you earlier, I texted Eric yesterday about coming in and helping us out next week and he goes, well,
Will possums be involved? I don't get it. He was part of Possum Bowl and we had him come in. You had possums? Yeah, so we had possums brought in and instead of the Puppy Bowl, which you may have heard of, we did the Possum Bowl. And for the halftime show, Eric sang One of Us, which he wrote for Joan Osborne. And he sang it like he was performing it for record execs.
As he always, they're so professional But the juxtaposition of the possum ball With this beautiful song Look on the monitor here Can you see possums? Yeah, they just showed a few possums Back it up so you can see the possums Oh my god And Steve, you're right, he belted it out It was an awesome version By the way, what are the balloons that are being assembled? We're just getting ready for next week Getting excited, we'll get details on that in a little bit But hang on, I gotta go to the phone here And we gotta get a winner, it was caller number four So we're gonna go to Brittany Hi Brittany, good morning
