Preston and Steve's News Update with Kathy Romano. Today is Wednesday, it's February 19th. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning. In the news this morning, a four-alarm fire tore through an industrial complex in Abington Township on Monday night. The shelter-in-place order initially was in effect until the incident was under control because smoke and particles from the fire were filtering across the area.
across the area, officials said. But residents and businesses in the immediate area near the plant, roughly 700 people, were asked to voluntarily evacuate late Tuesday afternoon while conditions permit because of the concern over air quality. The evacuation shelter is set up at
the Sheltonham High School's auditorium. Residents have been asked to bring two days worth of belongings for evacuees with pets. Hopewell Veterinary and Hospital is offering free boarding. The fire broke out at 943 Monday evening at SPS Technologies located on the 300 block of Highland Avenue in Montgomery County. Black smoke could be seen billowing out of the building Tuesday, more than 13 hours after the first alarm. Officials said the building was immediately evacuated and all 60 employees got out safely. 247 homes are being impacted
Officials said 68 different fire companies in the area responded to the scene. Aqua, SEPTA, as well as Pennsylvania and federal EPA officials are on site. Departments of Public Safety from Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester counties also responded. The flames caused explosions in what...
what's inside the industrial complex is of great concern to the county officials and residents. Any residents or business within one, a one mile radius of the complex should remain closed until further notice. They're actually have a shelter in place. If you're close to it, hazmat crews are continuing to monitor air quality and run off water in the area. So far, officials say tests have not detected any threats to the public.
Abington Fire Chief said that they did have concerns of the chemicals mixing, saying very harsh chemicals are used for aeronautical engineering process of making bolts and fasteners. The city of Philadelphia said they are monitoring air quality from the fire event as well. Two years ago, SPS Technologies had to pay a fine of $109,000 to the EPA for failing to properly dispose of and store hazardous waste, as well as failure to have a clear contingency plan for evacuation.
Abington, Jenkintown, and Sheltonham school districts will be closed again today. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. And fortunately, no injuries have been reported, although officials say that there are concerns after first responders were exposed to hazardous materials.
Officials are warning drivers about a text message scam that claims motorists have unpaid tolls on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I actually got this text message. Yeah, I've gotten it as well. The phishing scam claims to come from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and instructs message recipients to click on a link...
to pay outstanding tolls. The text urged the driver to pay the outstanding tolls to avoid excessive late payment fees and possible legal proceedings. For me, the difficult part, Kathy, was converting $5,000 to iTunes credit, but I paid it. Officials say the link should not be clicked on and anyone with concerns about unpaid tolls should visit...
Pennsylvania Turnpike official website to check. Investigators have not publicly speculated about where the text message has originated. Anyone who received the phishing text message is encouraged to report it by using the FBI's Internet Crimes Complaint Center. I don't know how I haven't at one time or another just accidentally clicked on one of these things out of maybe even trying to delete it and hit the wrong button.
Part of the screen and, you know, I've gotten lucky. There are just so many of them. Well, I just did one. And you know how astute I am with all this stuff. I see it coming a mile away, but I clicked the wrong part of the page. Yeah. I went into the second level, but I backed out again. And, you know, but I mean...
They're getting so sophisticated that, I mean, if they really want to get you, eventually you're going to slip. What you don't do is proffer any data. Oh, definitely. But, I mean, even on the non-scam ones, when I'm on a webpage, you know, digging around looking for material. Right. And a little, you know, screen will pop up and it'll ask, you know, if you want notifications from this website. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I just immediately click no, you know, whatever. Right.
I can't believe I haven't accidentally clicked the wrong thing at some point right now. I just did it about two weeks ago. I got an email saying that I needed to update my credit card information for Netflix. Now, my credit card expired, so I've been updating it for a while.
a bunch of different sites. So I didn't think anything of it. It looked, the email looked exactly like every other Netflix email I get. And I clicked it and I entered my username and password. And then I was like, you know what? I don't, I just, something hit me and I went back to check. And sure enough, it was not. And,
And immediately, I had like nine Netflix logins. There you go. There you go. Now, fortunately, I didn't put my credit card information in. But I mean, it was immediate. And, you know, it said if, you know, I got emails and it said, if this is not you, you know, you have to change your password and do a couple of steps. So I did. And I seem to be fine at this point. But I mean, it was immediate. When you get an email like that, don't go in through the email. Yeah.
go to netflix and that's what i thought and see and see what see what their status as you listed that yeah yeah i know unfortunate i know but in the moment when you're you know you've had your ninth margarita it can be it can be hard high winds on sunday have left behind widespread damage and power outages across the philadelphia region parts of delaware county uh we're still in the dark tuesday night more than 1400 homes and businesses are still without power at one point pico
reported more than 126,000 people in the dark across the Delaware Valley. Some in Delaware County have been without power since Sunday's winds brought down trees and power lines. Pico Cruz are working to restore power in the area, but they're saying still about 1,400 homes and businesses still without power. How long was your power out case? Went out on what, Sunday? Came back on
Wait, was it Sunday? When did I go to... Yeah, yeah. Sunday was the storm. Yeah, Sunday came down. And then by the time I got home on Monday night, like six something, it came back. Thank God. Because when I... I mean, it was really hard to get to my house. Like, there were downed trees all over. Right, right, right. So you kind of had to, like, sneak your way into my neighborhood. And all...
of the houses had power and then I got to my neighborhood and it was just darkness. Only my neighborhood. Well, Pico crews are working to restore power to the area. In sports this morning... Balls actually got me. Balls actually got me. What the f*** is that?

Hold the laugh. Stupid question time. And we're celebrating Black History Month this week, or actually through the whole month, with another question. And by the way, the prize is going to be a pair of tickets to Sam M.R. Rock's Paul Simon, a quiet celebration tour, Saturday, June 28th at the Academy of Music. That'll be pretty awesome. That's pretty wild because he retired from touring and I guess he's coming back. Yeah, the question that we'll pose is this. In 1994, Patrick Clark...
won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best What? All right. Patrick Clark in 1994 won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best What? 215-263-WMMR. Call if you know the answer. We'll go through some birthdays today. Waiting for that call from you today. Being the 19th day of February, Justine Bateman has her birthday. Yep. Mallory on Family Ties. Mallory.
And her brother eclipsed her career. Yes, Jason. Jason's a great actor. Though she did win the Oscar for that movie, Satisfaction. No, I don't think so. No, no. But I do remember that movie. She turns 59 years old today. She's become actually a pretty good documentary director. Oh, really? Yep. Okay. And then we have...
Jeff Daniels, turning year older, and a big one for him. He turns 70 years old today. Yeah! That's him. I was reading an interview with him on some anniversary of Dumb and Dumber, and he was talking about the formidable task of being paired with Jim Carrey. Right. And so he just de-stressed himself and said...
tap into his inner dumbness and see what he could do and they loved it yes jim carrey was his biggest advocate he says keep doing what you're doing when he was doing that movie he was uh they cast him or they tried to cast him to be the villain in billy madison the part that ended up going to bradley whitford yeah and um and he would have been a pretty good bad guy he would have bradley whitford was terrific and as billy madison's uh nemesis
Jeff Daniels, 70 years old today. Haley Duff has her birthday. Yeah. She was in Napoleon Dynamite. She plays the kind of popular, good-looking girl in the school. She was on 7th Heaven. She turns 40.
You're zoinking. Oh, my God. Wow. I can't be. Here's another one. Victoria Justice. Oh, no. Who's on Nickelodeon on Victoria. She's 32 years old today. So she's on, she appears to be on that LA Suits. Oh, okay. Yeah, the new version of Suits that takes place in LA. She's one of the hot executives. I could see that.

He's in the Star Wars universe. Yeah, he's all over the place. Yeah, she was 10 or 11 years old when she starred as Eleven in Stranger Things. And she has, yeah, she's just, like I said, she's blossomed into this really talented, beautiful young lady. So she's winning on all fronts. Yeah, she wins every which way possible. 21. I think she just went blonde recently, too, and looks beautiful.
Amazing. Tony Iommi has his birthday today from Black Sabbath. We got some Black Sabbath news coming up later on with the big concert they have planned in Birmingham, England to celebrate Ozzy. I'll have some details on that and music news later on. But one of the super interesting things about Tony Iommi is he's missing part of one of his fingers. And he's a great guitar player. It was in an industrial press. It got crushed. That's right. That's the story. And he hasn't.
Correct me if I'm wrong, he has no torso. No, he has a torso. Oh, okay. You must have heard that incorrectly. That's some bad sight. It's just part of a missing finger. Okay. So he is 77. We're looking at it. It looks kind of like a, almost like a circumcised penis. Yeah, kind of like that. So this guy made a splash at the Super Bowl in one of the ads. It's Seal's birthday today. Aww.
His full name, by the way, is Seal Henry Olusgen Almuda Adeola Samuel. That's his full name. You left out Flex. So he turns 62 years old today, Seal. He's sold it! Very weird Super Bowl commercial. It was my favorite one. And a bit unnerving. Oh, it was so bizarre and so disturbing. Yep.
One of the amazing singers of all time, Smokey Robinson. Turns a year older today. He is celebrating his 85th birthday today. And Smokey, not just a performer on a lot of those amazing Motown hits, but the writer, the songwriter for a lot of those hits. That's why he's cranking them out. Just incredible. I mean, just song after song, he was behind. You know, if you attend a clown wedding, you're going to hear this. Yeah, so happy 85th birthday to Smokey Robinson.

this week. Be joined by Queens rank on that tour or no? Is he what? Is he joined by Queens rank on that tour or no? I don't know the details, so I can't say no to that. Keep my interest. James Baldani's lawyer, Brian Friedman, has commented on
on Ryan Reynolds' subtle joke about an ongoing legal battle. Reynolds and Blake Lively made a brief, lighthearted appearance on SNL's 50th anniversary special with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler asking Ryan how things were going, and he jokingly responded. So we have a clip of that. Here we go. Who else? Who else has a question? I have a question. Oh, hey, Ryan Reynolds. Hey, hey. Hey.
How's it going? Great. Why, what have you heard? So there was that. And then his, her, I'm sorry, Baldani's lawyer, a guy named Brian Friedman, commented on that. And this is what he had to say about that. I'm unaware of anybody, frankly, whose wife has been
sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation okay you know what's kind of interesting about this lawyer when he travels whenever he's asked a question he puts on a cassette tape so you hear that rhythm behind him really yeah if you play it again you can't like he'll set up a little boom box i'm unaware of of anybody frankly whose life has been
sexually harassed and has made jokes about that type of situation. He just likes a little background. Yeah. A trial is currently set for March of 2026, by the way. Kevin Spacey has responded to Guy Pearce's claims
that he targeted him on the L.A. Confidential set. This was a video that he posted. Spacey criticized Pierce for speaking to the media instead of addressing him directly. And so we have a clip of that to play. This is him responding to that. If I did something then that upset you, you could have reached out to me. We could have had that conversation.
But instead, you've decided to speak to the press who are now, of course, coming after me because they would like to know what my response is to the things that you said. You really want to know what my response is? Grow up. Oh, OK. And then what is this next clip about? Following up on that, he continues. I mean, you want to have a conversation. I'm happy to do so anytime, anyplace. We can even do it here live on X if you like. I've got nothing to hide.
But, Guy, you need to grow up. You are not a victim. Wow. Okay. There was a Kevin Spacey joke on the SNL special on Sunday night as well. Fred Armisen was talking about it. He brought out a script from early 2000 or whatever, and the punchline was, all right, I guess I'll do this. I'll try this next time Kevin Spacey hosts. Wow. Which was a good joke. I wonder if Kevin Spacey will take issue with it.
Yeah. I mean, he should probably just kind of back off, I would think. I mean, and he was known to be kind of a hard ass and he was probably a...
Probably a jerk at one point, and Guy Pearce made note of it. He even admitted to being what he called Hansy Preston. Yeah. So what that means in the broad scheme of things, I don't know. Yeah, and I'm assuming this means something different than maybe he was just kind of... Cheese crow? Rude to him. No, I don't think he did anything sexual or physical or anything like that. I think that he was probably just being a bit of a hard ass, and Guy Pearce didn't like it, but that's my speculation.
The actor also questioned why Pierce was speaking up now. Then he visited Spacey a year after filming ended. Pierce had previously described Spacey as, quote, quite an aggressive man who targeted him. Though he clarified, I was certainly not a victim by any means to the extent that other people have been. We'll see where this goes. Mindy Kaling took a moment to honor her longtime friend and her kid's godfather, BJ Novak.
as she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Have you seen her recently? No. She looks completely transformed. I mean, she looks great, but I would not identify her as Mindy Kaling out of the gate. Really? Yes. Okay. That's how substantial it is. The Sex Lives of College Girls creator was celebrated with Novak during a heartfelt speech about her impact as a writer, friend, and mother. He said, Mindy respects and understands women
fame in a very intuitive way. And he was praising her as a brilliant and wildly successful showrunner and an incredible mother of three. And he thoughtfully added, you'd be on the walk of talent if they had one. You'd be on the walk of friendship. You'd be on the walk of compassionate parenthood.
parenthood, joking, saying, but let's face it, all of these would be terrible field trips. So for a long time, it was presumed that he was, in fact, the father of the kids. But three kids at this, you know, I'm trying to think what would be the impetus to keep it a secret that he's the father. So I don't know if that holds up anymore. Yep. She's kept her family life private. And now
Raising Catherine, Spencer, and Anne, her youngest. And Kelling has kept the identity of the father of children in the mystery since they've been born, but has always acknowledged that Novak is a figure in their lives.
So, if it's not wildfires, it's wild home robberies threatening Los Angeles area homeowners. And the latest victim are Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. According to TMZ, the couple wasn't home over the weekend, but an employee managed to scare off intruders who smashed a window to gain access to the home. No word on what, if anything, was stolen as a couple have yet to return to assess the crime scene. Police say no arrests have been made.
And that investigation is ongoing. You remember we were talking to Rob McElhenney and talking about the fact that he was going to attend the Super Bowl. He and Caitlin were going to be there. And he made a point to say that there would be armed guard at the house. Because anytime they're away and they're at a public event, now they're getting targeted. And now with these houses being left empty.
open for now or vacant for the time being while they try to rebuild. Yeah, it's a good opportunity for people to get in there and steal things and they're trying to keep an eye on it.
A month after bringing her newborn home, Yellow Jackets star Samantha Hanratty. Kathy, I know you've been watching it. That's what I did while I was there. We will take all the prayers and goodness that you can send our way. The child was born with a cleft lip.
for which it has already undergone surgery when he was just two weeks old. Hanratty, who shares her son with husband Christian at DeAnda, added that she hoped that this would be the last trip saying...
praying for no more setbacks so he can heal property. I was curious because I watched the new episodes over the weekend, Kath, or the first new episode. There's two that have been released of Yellow Jackets. And I was wondering, because you told me you were watching it, if you stuck with it or not, or if it's gotten too weird for you. So I powered through all of it. I didn't watch any of it. So I watched the first season. I loved the first season. Got to the second season and
It got a little weird and I was like, all right, where are we going with this? And then the end of the second season I really liked. So I have yet to start the newest season. All right. I wasn't sure if it would weird you out or not. So, all right, you're on board. Good. Somebody I can talk to. You guys should get together for a watching party. We definitely need to do that.
Not all Hollywood weddings are of the elaborate Bennifer variety. Some are very simple and like that of Nobody Wants This star Justine Lupe and her new husband Tyson Mason who were married in a courthouse ceremony in Beverly Hills yesterday. How did such gigantic figures in entertainment pull that off without getting noticed? She's pretty awesome though.
Nick in succession. She's the one who plays, uh, the, uh, the prostitute who's a playwright. Oh yeah. Yeah. She's really good. Yeah. And she's also one of the lead characters in, uh, nobody wants this as well. What's her name again? Her name is, uh, Justine Lupe. Okay. She's stunning. Yeah. She was also in, uh, she's been in a lot of really good things actually. Um, in attendance, the couple's baby daughters, Ellis and their dog, uh,
Lupe and Mason first went public. They were the ones who were there. They first went public as a couple on their socials in August 2023. Ellis was born a year later. Oh, and this happened too while we were on break. It was big news in our house. And I didn't get a chance to report this because we're all about Cobra Kai, which, by the way, we finished. Oh, did you? It's completely done. It was wonderful. But two of the main stars, the actors who play Robbie and Sam. Okay, so that is...
that is Johnny Lawrence's son and Daniel LaRusso's daughter, they just got engaged in real life. Yes. You reported on it. They kept it secret the whole time. We talked about it on the show. Did we talk about it? You reported it. And you were super excited then? I don't remember reporting it. There was a parade going on. Was that then? Yeah. It was overshadowed. But you were excited then? I was excited. Okay.
Yeah. Was it what you wanted? It was outstanding. All right. It was excellent. It's everything you want it to be. Yeah. Without going into too many details. What were you going to ask, Nick? Just not ask, but like it's a really interesting episode when she and Connor get married on Succession because something else...
happens that same episode and they just decide to go forward with their wedding. So I don't want to spoil it, but if you're watching Succession or you're like, we're working your way through it, the wedding episode with them is a really good one. Yep. All right. So it seems that Jeremy Renner was doing more than just recuperating in the months following his devastating snowplow accident in 2023.
Reports are now surfacing the actor spent a large part of 2024 dating influencer Cassandra CeCe Mason. Influencer Cassandra CeCe Mason? Yes. The two reportedly bonded over their health struggles. Is she attractive by any chance? She would be attractive, Steve.
Mason battled two types of thyroid cancer when she was a teenager. And apparently, though the couple are no longer together, they remain close friends. But apparently they dug in during that time and spent a lot of moments together.
Meghan Markle has revealed her lifestyle brand has rebranded from American Riviera Orchard to As Ever. As Ever. A name that she has been subtly hinting at for a while now. She explained the change, saying American Riviera... It's getting reduced as it moves along. She said, limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area. Instead, she wanted a name that reflected her lifelong passions, sharing...
As ever essentially means as it's always been. As if. Markle has been hinting at a change by signing off her Instagram posts with as ever for a while now, hiding the rebrand right in front of everyone's face. I finished off all my correspondence with gag me with a spoon.
This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language. You said beautifully weaving together everything I cherish. Food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy every day. Yeah. That whole Netflix special or Netflix series, has it premiered yet where she's doing her Martha Stewart thing? No.
Don't know. Yeah, because I thought it was supposed to premiere, but Super Bowl and fires and all that stuff kind of...
Yeah. Overshadowed it. I would assume this would be a big part of it. Yeah. That's going to be the name of it, so we'll see. Deadline is reporting that the highly anticipated third movie in the Dune franchise is set to begin filming this summer. Sources with the production told the outlet that the team is in pre-production, has been prepping for a while behind the scenes to try to get things ready for a summer start. June is too early, but summer is the aim, providing key elements for...
fall into place, which would be talent avails, etc. Yeah, makes sense. It's a huge undertaking. This would be Dune Spring Break. That's the one, yes. Worms in Paradise. Dune Part 2 made over $700 million globally last year. What do you think of Dune Prophecy?
I liked it. I didn't love it. Same. You know? It was well done. It had really very little to do with anything that's going on in the movies. I mean, you know, it's the same universe, but it's 10,000 years prior. Yeah. I heard, Nick, that it was in many ways more similar to Home Improvement. Yeah. There was this guy behind a fence, Steve, and you could never really see his face. Yeah. You suspected that below the fence. Yeah, he was a nice guy. He was a worm. Right. No, but it...
It's interesting. Have you heard of the spice? As much as I want stories like this to expand and have more to them, sometimes it becomes too much. You know what I mean? Agreed. I think I kind of felt that way with Game of Thrones. I mean, that was so big and so dense, and then they started to expand into the...
more of the Targaryen story in the past. House of Dragons? I think I'm done with it. Yeah, and sometimes they get it right, like with the Penguin series. That fits right in. But I know what you're talking about. Sometimes it's like,
we don't need to go to that well so much. It's sort of, not that it, not that they aren't well done, it's just too much. I really enjoyed being a fly on the wall for the conversation you and my wife had in spring training last year, Preston. You guys geeked out completely on Dune because she'd read all the books as well. But Dune Prophecy is not a Frank Herbert book. It's like one of his kids and sort of extended the universe away from what
his original vision was and maybe that has something to do with it not just being I don't know it wasn't source material it was Biff Herbert who wrote it it was always sort of the not quite the writer well speaking of expanding Steve you'll love this I'm sure you've already seen it but Keanu Reeves is more than ready to step back into the role of John Constantine could not be happier I loved the original Constantine movie now technically he didn't look like Constantine in the comic book
But what they did with the movie, I friggin' loved it. Despite, I'm sorry, during a recent Happy, Sad, Confused podcast episode, he reunited with Constantine director Francis Lawrence to reflect on the film's 20th anniversary and tease its long-awaited sequel. The actor confirmed a script is in progress.
And both he and Lawrence are optimistic that the project will get the go-ahead once it's complete. He said, we have constantly tried to come back. This is Lawrence explaining that the studio shakeups at Warner Brothers and DC Comics stalled the sequel for years but added that thanks to fans' interest in the sequel, we finally got to a place where we now have the permission to go down that road. And as for Reeves, he's eager to play the role once more. He said, I am excited.
aching to play this guy. Did you ever see it? So he really wants to get to it. The movie? Did you ever see Constantine? No. I think you might like it. It has a lot of otherworldly elements. I mean, it's totally, you know, fighting demons. And I think one of the best devils ever in film history is contained within the movie Constantine. Okay. I've always, what I've seen of it, I've liked. I've just, for whatever reason, never gotten around to watching it.
The Peaky Blinders movie has finished filming with creator Stephen Knight calling it fantastic and praising its cast while appearing on the BBC Breakfast. Preston, is this the spring break movie that we've been with? It must be. That seems to be a trend in cinema these days. I watched this series a little bit, didn't complete it, but I liked it a lot. I didn't see any of it.
What's the basic idea? It's a period piece and the Peaky Blinders wear these hats and they're street thugs. It's totally British. It has a great atmosphere to it. It's Kelly Murphy, right? Yes. I watched it before I discovered subtitles.
Did you need to go back? You're going to need that. That's a good idea because, Casey, it turned me off. I couldn't understand most of what was going on. It'd stink as molasses. That's right. Chuck has been trying to get me to start watching Litter Kenny.
I love Letter County. And that's great, but I can't watch it as I'm going to sleep. I need subtitles. I got you. Dude, I need subtitles and I need to watch it in slow motion because the dialogue is really, really fast. I've only watched a little bit of it and I'm like, wow, they're ripping through this stuff. It's like Kevin Smith type speed, you know, in some of those. And Quentin Tarantino, you know, really fast dialogue.
So he assured fans that early footage looks promising, saying no one will be disappointed. It's quite an incredible thing talking about Peaky Blinders. Described the film as very fitting way to end this part of the Peaky story. And he hinted that the whole thing might not be over when asked about future installments.
He teased, I'm not allowed to announce it, but the world of Peaky will continue. I have to imagine it's going to be interesting seeing them in Daytona. So the first trailer for the upcoming Peacock documentary about Matthew Perry is out.
It weaves the telling of his rise to stardom with the tragedy of his final days in death in October 2023. Features interviews with some of his collaborators, Hollywood insiders and law enforcement. It's called Matthew Perry, A Hollywood Tragedy. That will be on Peacock next Tuesday. I wonder what's happened from that case because they arrested a lot of doctors and they arrested a lot of drug pushers. And there was this big wide net that they cast and they did bring in a lot of people but...
I haven't heard any resolution to any of those cases. Yeah, I don't know who got stuck with what or if they've been tried yet or any of that. SNL has announced the next round of hosts and musical guests. Coming up on March 1st, Shane Gillis will return to host the show.
He'll be hosting for the second time, and Tate McRae will join him as the musical guest. Then on March 8th, Lady Gaga is pulling double duty. She'll be hosting and performing as a musical guest, and this will be her second time hosting and her fifth time appearing as a musical guest. Her new album, Mayhem, will have come out the day before that appearance.
And then one last thing, it appears the buzz for season three of The White Lotus has translated into big ratings for HBO. The season premiere continues to draw larger audiences each time. Sunday's debut pulled in 2.4 million viewers over HBO and digital platforms, which is up 57% over the season two debut in 2022 and 155% over the first episode overall.
of the series in 2021 remains to be seen if that kind of growth can be sustained hbo says season two of the hit series went on to average 15.5 million viewers uh season one had averaged 9.3 million so that's next on my list so it did debut though that's what it says here in fact yes i saw one of the episodes airing over the weekend i just had come across it on hbo and i'm like oh
This is up and running now. So looking forward to that. Where is it set now? It's in Thailand. Welcome to Thailand. Yeah. All right. We are ready to play the clips. Let's go.
Over the past 40 years, Ralph Macchio has said goodbye to his character Daniel time and time again. And here he talks about officially wrapping up Cobra Kai. It took me a while to say, yes, let's try this again. But this was, you know, I come up way smarter than I am for saying yes. And these writers and creators have done a beautiful job sustaining this story. But it feels the right time to bring Cobra Kai proper in for a landing. Yeah!
Season 6 part 3 is streaming now on Netflix and that's it. They're done with it. Listening to him talk, and I always thought he had a unique tone to his voice, listening to him talk at this age, that's not the voice I thought he would have grown into. But I like it. Tell you what, man, I read his
biography that was all about just the Karate Kid franchise. It is fantastic. If you're a fan, I have to mention it has to be incredible. And I was like a so-so Karate Kid fan, but I just went all in on Cobra Kai. And it's so well done. And it's straight ahead. It's interesting because in it he says, man, if you came here for you know, like...
Sorted stories of bad things that happened and drugs and all. He's like, you came to the wrong place. This was actually a pretty awesome part of my life. It's awesome. And continues to be. And it's a really good book if you want something to read. He gave him two entirely different lifetime careers with the same material. Yep. All right, next clip. Here we go.
Action films are always a fun challenge for Anya Taylor-Joy. And here she compares her character in Furiosa to Draza in The Gorge. I mean, this is definitely very action heavy and in a different way than Furiosa. I feel like Furiosa is so scrawly.
And this was just a different level of being highly trained. Both of these characters, despite the darkness with which they're surrounded in, they're quite different as people. Yeah!
The Gorge is now streaming on Apple TV+. I was talking to Casey. We both saw it. And I liked it. I liked it more than I thought I was going to like it. It's kind of stuff like a sausage, Preston. There's like nine different movies going on in it. Really? There's like a political intrigue thing. There is a science fiction going on. There's a horror element going on. But they deliver for the most part. I think it's worth a watch. The Gorge. Yeah. All right. I'll see that. All right. All right.

Maybe see Preston and Steve Daily Rush videos. Look for upcoming shows on a comprehensive concert calendar. See when and where we'll be out and about. Pick up some MMR gear and like a whole lot more. Well, it turns out there's a website that does all that.
WMMR.com and it's always available like right now on your computer or phone or whatever. Wow, what a time to be alive. WMMR.com
All right, thanks, Kat. So we had a holiday weekend, President's Day on Monday. We took an extra day off yesterday, so we're back and we have not had a chance. And I know you've seen plenty of social media videos and pictures and it's been beaten to death already. But we were at that little parade on Friday, broadcasting live. And I want to thank the Cambria Hotel for hosting us and our sister station, the Fanatic Hotel.
for the event because it was a fantastic location. Could not have been better. What a beautiful hotel too. Yeah. Great staff there. Everybody was super, super cool. Really appreciate all of that. So I meant the person in charge of running the events and organizing the events and she was
incredibly sweet, super glad we were there, glad to host us. The breakfast spread they set out was terrific and everything. But for a vantage point, as we started to watch it build, there was a monitor actually right in front of us where they line right out to the street. And I could even kind of see over. There was a point at which the human spigot turned on and it exponentially, the crowd just increased in huge levels. And that first time, Preston, when you walked out and saw the,
the crowd there. It's like, Whoa, it was amazing. Yep. It was, uh, all in all, it was just a great morning, uh, a fun time. Everybody was in a wonderful mood, obviously. And, uh, the whole event was, was spot on. I want to, uh,
I thank Casey for getting all those beads that he got. He's like, man, we're going to be on the balcony. Yeah, yeah. We need to throw stuff down to people. And then Eric and company in our promotions department who got a bunch of shirts, and it was Casey's idea to take the shirt cannon, and we were firing shirts across the street, which, by the way...
is really wide. Broad is super duper wide where we were. And some of the shirts didn't make it all the way across. It was kind of fun to hear the crowd as they were jeering when the shirts wouldn't make it all the way across the street. But the Philly cops were so cool. They kept coming over and picking up the shirts that didn't make it and throwing it into the crowd for us. If you just have a think about it, Casey, you probably landed more across the street simply throwing them. Yeah.
And the T-shirt cannon. You had to deal with the wind, by the way, as well, because the wind was blowing at that point from west to east. East, yeah. And so if you had a target, you needed to aim a little bit more west for the wind to take it. What really stuck, though, was the very, very...
Very last t-shirt that we had. I put it into the t-shirt cannon and I aimed it down the street. I wasn't going across the street. So I aimed it at York City Hall. Oh, no. And it ended up stuck on the mezzanine. Not even a balcony. What do you call that? The covering over the entrance? The awning. Just teetering on the edge of the awning. I'm like, no.
While we were there, I was thinking about Kathy. I texted her while we were there because I'm like, man. We felt terrible, Kathy. I know. I was bummed. Especially because of the location. The Cambria just looked perfect. It was. We were there. It was great to be at the parade, but I was like, oh, this looks amazing. And I got myself
I didn't feel good on Thursday. I was like, no, I'm going to be better. Like this, this can't last much longer because I started to not feel good on Monday, Monday evening. Right. Came to work Tuesday and then went home from work on Tuesday and got in bed. So I was like, I,
I'll be okay Friday. I'm fine. And then we'll have the weekend. No, I was up all night long. I'm like, this is a disaster. I can't go. So I was very disappointed. But I listened to some of the broadcasts and I watched the broadcast on TV of the parade. So I pretty much watched everything and it was great. It worked out so well because Bill Bean from the MM Army drove us in in a vehicle. It was terrific. We got dumped right around the corner.
went in and we were ready to go. But yeah, everything, you would have loved it and we missed you. We had a couple of what would be akin to Lion King moments when Preston and I, we lifted up BirdBot,
to the crowd. You could hear the crowd. Kathy, it was crazy. The responses we were getting from those thousands of people around there was just so cool. The pictures of Bird Bot and who Bird Bot was with on parade day was incredible. We'll cover that too. Kathy, I think the thing that I'm most sad that you missed was how the spirit of the celebration took over
This little boy's heart over here. Preston, I don't think anybody had more fun at this parade. Really? Oh, my God, dude. The fact that you got everybody singing. Yeah. So at one point, Kath, I was telling Marissa, it was most of the way through. We were almost done with our show. I think we were done with our show. Yeah. Yeah.
and we're waiting the whole parade to come through. And I'm like, every now and then you would hear an Eagles chant happen from over that way you'd hear it, and then across the street you'd hear it, and then over here. And I'm like...
we haven't heard the song yet. I mean, we've heard the chant over and over all morning long. So I'm like, I got to get this crowd going. So I grabbed the megaphone and I get out and I'm like, hey, we got to hear the song. And I started singing it. And Kathy, I mean, all up and down Broad Street, you just heard everybody singing. It was so cool. It was a really special moment. It was crazy. So I ducked out at one point to show you how...
And the parade came by at around approximately when?
1130. 1130? Okay. So, Nick. Actually, no, I'm sorry. Look, Nick, here it says 1152 and I was singing the song with everybody. So it wasn't until afternoon or so. Yeah, I was watching on TV and I kind of estimated where you were when they went by. It was definitely later than that. I had a few Bloody Marys at that time. It's okay. Everyone was having a great time. So I go down. I see one of our people, one of our salespeople. I won't say who it was because she was kind of traumatized.
In the lobby, hey, this is great, this is great. And she's like kind of trembling. And I go, okay, this is a little crazy out there. I go out because I'm going to cut right and then cut down the first right. So from the front of the Cambria to Walnut. How far would you say that is? Oh, I...
30 yards, 40 yards, not far at all. It took me a half hour to get through that crowd. Now, I'm a decent size, Preston. I'm in that crowd and there are smaller women and kids and everyone is compacting.
And I'm like... Did you start to move without meaning to move? Yes. Okay, that's not good. So you're moving along with the crowd. And so I start to go, I start to say, okay, everybody, we don't want anyone to get... So I kind of became the conductor of the crowd because there were kids. Yeah. And I'm like, this can go south really quickly. Even though there was the street there...
Everyone was compacted because the parade was en route and was about to come through. So they were clearly not letting anyone breach that barrier for any reason whatsoever. So we were impact in tight. And again, I'm moving ineluctably through, but I'm seeing like people, I'm like...
And I'm so basically pressed. I'm trying to, how are you? How are you? How are you? Are you okay? Can you breathe? How are you? And I made it to the end of the crowd and then it started to lighten up. But I'm like, when you see things in the news about how a crowd can really turn and be something that'd be problematic. Now, if I had, if I had a,
And I had my bag around my shoulder. I'm like, there's literally one point where I'm pulling my computer bag through the crowd. Oh, my God. Yeah, it was that tight. Wow. And it was wild. But once it cleared again, everything was fine. But in that moment, I'm like, whoa, this is...
I've never seen, I've been in crowds, I've never been in one that tightly packed. Yeah, I thought a lot about this over the weekend. In 2018, it was the first time we'd ever had a Super Bowl parade. It was historic. It was wonderful. I liked our vantage point that year because it was really cool to see the number of people, the sheer number of people on the parkway.
This year, and I'm really sorry you weren't there, Kathy. This year, to me, felt better. It just felt more like maybe because it was a Friday, maybe because it was sunny, maybe because it was just like this mood of everybody. And I know that there was like a ton of celebration on Sunday night after the Super Bowl win. And that got a little raucous and a little rowdy. I didn't hear about one incident on Sunday. I mean, on Friday. I didn't hear about one thing going wrong. It just was...
Such positivity. There was a shooting. Was there? Yeah, two people were shot. Oh, well, thanks for clapping on my part. Sorry, sorry. Now you heard about it. Two people were hurt? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, all right. So that's awful, and I'm sorry that that happened. The rest of it, it just was so positive, and really from like...
From South Philly, from the stadium complex, all the way to the art museum. It was just so many people having a great time. And like all the people that were on Aikens Oval and watching it from the art museum all freaking day, they look like they were having a great time. What was amazing was, all right, so we were in our little section, right? And that section was packed.
And Preston, you and I were talking about this all fair, but I didn't realize that, I mean, City Hall was right there. Yeah. That, you know, when they make the left at City Hall and then the right around City Hall and then they come around to like where JFK is.
the sea of people that were there was insane. And that drone footage... There's drone footage where I was like, oh my God. I'm like, it was packed where we were, but I didn't know... Right up the road was that. Quarter mile up from where we were was this sea of humanity. In my wildest imagination, I could not have envisioned what you see in that drone footage. It was that amazing. But I think, Nick, also the fact that...
The first time for the first parade, we were removed a step and we were up higher. We were in proximity to see smiling faces and to be able to call down to people. And just to be in that was such an amazing thing. I didn't share this with you guys, but when the buses finally did start going by, Preston, you were still up on the balcony. Marissa was there. Casey, I don't know where you were at that point. I was all the way down where the Fanatic was.
Okay. And I was hanging out with Paul Blake, who's our general sales manager. And the first couple of buses that went by, he was like, guys, no players on that bus. That's all advertisers. I think that's just people who work for the team. And one bus after another after another. He's like, man, where are all the players?
Meanwhile, it was all the players. We just didn't see any and recognize any. That was the only thing. Four buses had gone by before. Paul was like, I'm pretty sure that those were actually players that we were watching going by. Yeah, they needed to have less plus ones for the players. They seemed jammed with a lot of people that were just not there. They were not team players.
tangential. Yeah. But it's okay. Well, that first bus was loaded, though. Yeah, it had the trophy on it and Jeffrey Lurie was there. Yeah, Jalen Hurts. So when they started to speak, they did the speeches at the art museum and Howie Roseman kind of, I was like, wow, I didn't know he had a scar on his forehead. Oh, yeah. He didn't. He got nailed with a beer can. Yeah. Oh,
And he made reference to it. And I thought it was a joke. And then later, after seeing social media posts, I'm like, oh no, he really got hit. That was a mark from it. Did you see it? I did see it, yeah. Unfortunately, he's okay. He said he made the joke, he was...
He was bleeding green. Bleeding for the city. Bleeding for the city. But I feel bad because nobody was trying to hit him in the head with a beer. You see that all the time where they toss beers back and forth and it's part of the... Oh, man, we just saw the video of this. Yep, he wasn't looking at all and dinked right in the forehead. I tell you what was funny, Preston, so as we're leaving, Bill, again, is driving me in the MMR van back to the station.
But everything let out. The parade vehicles had passed a certain point, and everyone from that part abroad was coming now back into the blocks past. And so there's this human sea. It's like the Mecca. It's like the Ten Commandments. And so we're locked in place. I'm sitting in the MMR vehicle, and people are coming, Steve, MMR, where's Preston? They always think you're going to be right there. Yeah, yeah. But it was that way.
was cool too because everyone was was just you know for i sat there holding court for about 45 minutes and people just telling me their their experiences i detected one or two people might have had a drink uh but uh yeah no it was awesome we had a nice uh walk when it was over uh me and casey and nick and a few others and uh of course yeah i had no idea
Until we got going, what a mess the place was. After it was over, like, oh my God. Well, the confetti, the whole route, they were blowing green and white confetti. I mean, and at a decent blast. Well, and there was a fair amount of ticker tape too. So like shredded documents that were thrown at Kathy. It was like a half inch thick.
on the sidewalks. Preston, there was a point, you know, like when you see shots in the Godzilla movies where he brushes a building and the debris comes flying out. There was one point where there was so much confetti coming off. I don't know what building it was coming off of, but it looked exactly like that. Yeah, it was something to behold, for sure. A couple of calls coming in. I want to go to Matt. Hi, Matt. You're on the air. Good morning. Hi.
Hey, how are you guys? Listen, I just want to say it was such a great atmosphere down there at the Cambria. I was down there with my wife and my daughter, and it was fun to see it build up as the parade got closer. We dipped out into the crowd, like Steve said, and saw the parade pass by. But I tell you, when that parade went by, like Steve was saying,
If you're not into those crowds, it really was the only time that I thought it was hairy. Yeah. I experienced it in 2017 on the parkway where there's a little more room, but there was nowhere for the people to go, and you didn't want anybody to panic. But it was – I only had to go a half block –
back into the Cambria, but you couldn't move. You could not. And did you feel, like Preston said, couldn't you feel yourself moving at the will of the crowd? I mean, it was that packed that tightly?
Yeah, it was, it was, you felt like a match in a, in a, in a, like stacked on top of each other. And I, I was, I was with my daughter. She's 17. I'm just like, just get me to the doorway. You know, I wanted to get out of that, but it all worked good. It's, you know, it took a little bit, but yeah, if that's not, you know, if you're afraid of something like that, that was...
The only nervousness I have. No, no. Of course, you're thinking about, you know, the Who concert, and you're thinking about, you know, all those terrible incidents. But everyone, once I started, and I mean, I just...
I was kind of, you know, in a nice way calling to the crowd to just watch out for people who are a little bit more slight and, you know, shorter. Maybe, you know, who are really trapped in the crowd. And people, for the most part, did and gave some breathing room. So everyone responded well. And by the end of it, as we said, I didn't hear anything of anybody being crushed to death or anything. So, you know, it was great. It was just, you're right. If you're not a crowd person, that's not where you want to be. Yeah.
Without a doubt. And I just want to say it was, uh, everybody was in such a great mood, even the night before when being down there, I have such a great vibe and, uh, really enjoyed ourselves. Yep. Yep. Same here. Thanks, Matt. Appreciate it, bud. Uh, by the way, Nick had mentioned a bird bot and, uh, or Kathy did maybe in all the, the pictures that, uh,
BirdBot ended up with. I want to thank our friends from the Philadelphia Police Department who took BirdBot on an exclusive tour up close and personal with the big names. And one surprising one we did not expect and ended up coming across was Pete Davidson holding BirdBot.
How cool is that, man? Did they autograph BirdBot too? Or do we know? I don't know. Did they just get pictures? Either way. I don't know. I don't even know where BirdBot 2.0 is. Is he back here? I can tell you. He's with the police officers who escorted him for the day. Because we were off yesterday and on Monday, he was just going to hang on to him for the weekend. He's going to bring him back today. And by the way, there is now a BirdBot shirt on.
We had a flash sale at WMMR.com if you're interested in owning what is now a legendary piece of merchandise. Yes, legendary is right. Dude, and I love the picture. I love the shirt. It looks so cool. So it's a full color presidency BirdBot 2.0 Kelly Green t-shirt.
It said, oh, it said the splash sale ended on Wednesday. That's today. Oh, today. All right, so at noon. So you can go to WMMR.com and the Rock Shop and get those while they last because they're pretty damn cool.
Bird Bot is currently pressed. I'm looking at the location on the Find My app. He's next to the police training facility, the SWAT headquarters. He's well protected. All right. He's in a safe spot. Let me go to Steve on the phone. Steve, you are on the air. Good morning.
Ready? Okay! What's up, Steve? Yo, that parade was so awesome, man. We had such a great time. And we did smart. We booked a hotel, the Hilton at 11th and Arch, on December 29th when the Eagles made the playoffs. Nice. Good.
Good call. Yeah, I think more people, listen, we can only hope for the best. You know, a lot of prognosticators are saying things are looking good for perhaps return trips, and I think you'd be wise to do follow suit and, you know, next time around. Yeah, yeah. I mean, we did it two years ago. I mean, I'm from Northeast Philly, so it was like a 20-minute drive. Parked in the garage. It was awesome. That's perfect. I got a 4-year-old, 10-year-old, 13-year-old. We were at Love Park, and
And, you know, they came by. It was great. It was awesome. Good for you. Nice, Steve. Making memories, brother. Appreciate it. By the way, somebody texted in and asked if...
Pierre is going to end up using his reservation for March 14th. Oh, my God. Did you hear that story? No. He booked. He found a hotel room at a place nice, you know, short walking distance from the Cambria. And we were amazed at the rate he got. He booked it. He got it at a great rate and everything. He showed up. To sleep there. To sleep there the night before. And they said, I'm sorry, we don't see a reservation here for you. He made it for March.
He made it from March, not February. Did he have to go back home? No, he pulled into a garage and he slept in his car. Dude, it was cold. So,
It's not like he lives that far away. I know. Oh, my God. But you know what? Getting in when he wanted to get in for his show, it would have been a nightmare. So he actually made the right call because of the time he would have arrived. It's just so him. Just making sure, just confirming, I don't see you here. And then they look a month ahead and they're, oh, here you are. Oh, dear. Oh, dear. It's perfect.
It is. I wanted to publicly thank the officers because they said it was okay if I share their names. Oh, good. Anthony Comatalo, he was the big guy pressing on the right in this photo of all's BirdBot. There's Anthony right there. Yeah, he's about a six foot five guy. And he was in charge of taking BirdBot back and forth. He left the Cambria Hotel, went down to the sports complex, then took them all the way back up to the Art Museum. And a lot of those photos, including Pete Davidson and...
Devontae Smith. Tons of players. Yeah, tons of players with A.J. Brown. Some great shots. Landon Dickerson, I think there was a shot of him as well. So anyway, thanks to Officer Anthony Comitella for doing that. And then the guy that started all of this, this guy named Matthew Lally. Matthew's a great guy. He's been here before. He's a Philly officer as well. And so he was just like, hey, if we can help out, we'd love to. And so both of those guys are just so nice. And it was really accommodating. Did they ever help out? Yeah. They were great. And we were chatting. And even they were like, they can't believe the heat on BirdBot.
And the fact that so many people were in awe of Bird Bob. But yeah. I got a, hold on a second. We got an email from a guy. One more name real quick, President. Yes. Anthony Mooney. The two officers that came were Anthony Mooney and Anthony Comatalo. Mike Dillian, Rude Boy Photography 1 on Instagram, sent us an email, said, cash in my tattoos day win for the President's Chief Show by getting Bird Bob.
done. And this is by Amy at Floating World Tattoos. She did the artwork. He said, and this is a post he had. He said, if you don't know about BirdBot, he was sent out of the show and traveled to Delaware Valley before heading to the Super Bowl and then returning for the parade. And since I think most sports tattoos are lame, he wrote, hashtag not sorry, he said,
And it needed to be a President Steve theme. I took this opportunity to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles in the morning show. They both brought so much joy to Philly Go-Birds' new tattoo and so on. And so we have a picture here in the studio of his bird butt tattoo. The work on that is great. Who did that again? It's phenomenal.
Amy. She was here when we did Tattoo's Day in here. She was one of the tattoo artists. So thank you, Mike Dillian, for getting BirdBot on your skin. By the way, walking through the city back, you know, after it's present, the police did such a phenomenal job. I mean, because they're all fans as well, and they tried to, you know, allow everyone to have some enjoyment with keeping everybody safe. You know, what a...
What a great showing for them, as always, rising to the challenge. But man, they had a lot on their hands that day. So Preston, I parted ways with you. You ended up working your way with Brent to where Casey was. And then Andrea and our friend Eva and I, we ended up getting an Uber out of the city, which took like a half hour or so to get to past the parkway and then to the Schuylkill. And then once we got to the Schuylkill, it was relatively normal traffic. How was it for you guys getting out of the city? Actually, it wasn't that bad. So Casey had parked right by...
Arch and Vine. 8th and Vine, basically. So right by the police headquarters. And dude, by the time we got out of the parking lot and he said it was 32 minutes to get here. Oh, that's good. So it was actually pretty...
It was easier than I thought it was going to be. As we were driving, because we ended up on the Vine Street Expressway, you could hear the parade. You could hear some of the speeches going on. You could see some of the fireworks and stuff. But I don't regret leaving the city before all that was done, just because it was so freaking packed. Yeah, most definitely. And the parade, speaking of the parade, the actual procession itself...
was pretty quick. Yeah. I was surprised at that. I mean, obviously, you had the motorcycle cops come through first, and then a couple of, I don't know if it was fire trucks that came through first, and then, like, the drum line and the cheerleaders, and then Jeff Laurie and the trophy, and then it seemed like...
four buses or so and then it was done i was like wow that was that came and went quickly by the time we got home we flipped on mbc sports philadelphia and michael barkham was there and barrett brooks and a couple other people were doing coverage from the steps of the art museum and they were wrapping up and like when people started leaving they started leaving pretty fast and uh i'm curious as to like how the cleanup went on third or on the rest of them they're still cleaning up are they because it was so rainy all weekend like did that help or did that hinder who
Marissa?
from that first car with swoop until the last ending of it. And then about 20 or 30 minutes later, the police started kind of slowly opening the barricades on each street. And a couple, you know, an hour or two later, the streets are pretty clear. Wow. Pretty amazing. I have two highlights that were really fun. Did you guys see the sign from the Eagles medical staff?
No. And they held up something that said 21 of the 22 starters played in the Super Bowl.
Thanks, Eagles medical staff. Nice. Yeah, I love that. NFL highlighted that. And then I know there were some concerns about the city and people going out and Valentine's Day. And throughout the weekend, every restaurant or bar we went to, we asked, how was the reaction to your place? I mean, it went as far as like Bridget Foy's, which is what, on 2nd and South? Yeah. They're like, we were getting people from the parade. Oh, good. That's terrific.
I thought that might happen. You continued to go out throughout the day, throughout the night. There's just lines everywhere. It was pretty awesome. How are you going to bring in over a million people and not have that translate to business? Yeah, it was something else, man. It was a hell of a day. Kay, do we have any time left or do we need to take a break? You know what? We probably should take a break. Because we're going to go on Fox Good Day in here in a moment. I don't know if they're going to want to talk about this or not, but maybe we'll continue that. I apologize to those who have been on hold. You've been on hold for a while and we didn't get a chance to go to you, but we had a lot of stuff to recap.
as well on our own. But that was, that was a hell of a day. It was a lot of fun. Just, I mean, you know, and we've been there before. We knew that it was going to be that much fun. Everybody just in a great mood and it was a beautiful day. Yeah, and I don't know
to the Preston and Steve Instagram account. We have so much more stuff to be putting up. We'll be putting up some stuff over the weekend. The BirdBot account has those awesome photos you guys mentioned a few minutes ago. But lots, lots, lots more coming between Preston and Steve and the WMR accounts. Nice. Excellent. So hopefully we got a chance to see you there. And there were a lot of people. Kathy, everybody down.
You could tell a lot of our listeners came to be in front of where we were to kind of share this moment together because we were getting tons of response from people down below on the street. So thank you for all that. All right. We will take a break. We'll come back and we'll do the B-File. And we also have a Fox Good Day check-in. So stay put. We'll be right back.

That music means we're going on television right now. Here we go. Well, President Steve, apparently one in five of us here in the United States have flirted with
models. AI chatbots, not just models. Well, I stick with models. Okay. Preston, have you ever been attracted to like an AI companion, let's say? An AI companion? No.
No, not that I know of. I haven't dabbled too much in the world of AI chatting with or anything like that. No, I mean, we have Alexa and Siri and these things, but that's not quite AI. And I've had some deep conversations, but never anything that went inappropriate. Can I twist your melon here, Preston? Sure. Kathy's AI. Oh, my God. What?
She's not real. I thought she was too perfect. Yeah, I mean, this is flawless. That's how we know. That's how you know. But listen, there are movies like the movie, was it Her? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which kind of delved into that a while back, yeah. And I could see that happening. There are AI dating. There are people who knowingly conduct, for a fee, online relationships with AI clients.
characters. And so, okay, that's, as Preston said, once they can combine that with one of those real dolls, it's the end of the world. Because it's all over then. It is. Well, Steve, you like superheroes. Yes. Would you like to have a superhero come to life in a way? Well, for a relationship? Yes.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think, well, listen, spending the night with Hulk would be a joy, I think. No, I mean, but this stuff is, I mean, we tell people all the time, what you should probably do is develop a safe word with people in your family because these things are getting so convincing that if you want to make sure that you have to have it, you run a risk. Speaking of convincing, Mike got fooled.
This is about a year ago. I started, well, chatting in a way. He was in the DMs. I was in the DMs with a woman named Ariella. And she sends me, she's so dedicated to me that she sends me a picture every day. And he was boasting about this in commercial break one day about how this woman and she's so into him and messaging all the time. I said, let me see her.
So he hands me his phone and I'm going through the profile. I said, Mike, this is an AI model. She's not real. Oh, man. So you you were falling in love with a toaster in Nebraska. Yes. Mike for slaughter. Did that hurt your ego at all?
Well, I was disappointed. You were also mad at yourself that you didn't know that it wasn't real. And I believe in her name is the two letters AI. If he had just bothered to go past the pictures and read her bio, it says AI in the bio. But men don't see that. No, we just see that. And Mike, you had purchased all that baby oil. And...
I know. Oh, my gosh. I know a guy that had a bunch of baby oil. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, he's in jail now. Well, he doesn't need it anymore. No, no. Oh, my gosh. Oh, stop it. But you still interact with her, don't you? Oh, I still accept the picture every day. Exactly.
There is a top Instagram model that has millions and millions of followers that is an AI creation. She's known to be an AI creation. Her voice is AI generated. It does not matter to the tongue-wagging knuckle-dragging guys. I think I might be one of them that follows her. And what would her name be? For research purposes, Mike wants to know. It's Alex Holley. Just text Jimmy. Thanks.
Thank you, guys. Thank you, guys. We'll see you later. I saw this story quite a while back. Just touch on that for a moment, then we will go to traffic. But I thought this was kind of sweet. It was when Siri first...
had become a thing. And a woman who had, she had a son who had autism and he would not really communicate with human beings. But she found him talking to Siri and forming a relationship
And I thought that was a really, I thought that was a cool unintended thing to come out of that. I know. And they're finding different things now. I sent you a couple articles about developments that they're making as far as the communication capabilities for autism. Yeah. Which are very promising. You never want to get too excited because these things kind of come and go. But man, if some of this stuff delivers, what a wonderful thing. But yes, to see that, I mean, if I'm polite to Alexa...
Would you be interested? I'll say no, thank you. Okay. And you'll get, you know, it'll respond. And your mind starts to go, how far are we from, you know, what makes this? Look at Jervis, right? Yeah. Jarvis? Jarvis, yes. Yeah, yeah.
Jervis is a survivor. He's a robot. Yeah. No, but I had my buddy when we were first dabbling with ChatGBT when that first came out, he was showing me how to use it and he would end all of his queries with like, you know, thank you or please or something. And I'm like, why are you doing that? He's like, because if this thing ever becomes sentient, I want there to be a record of me being polite to him. You were rude to me. Yeah. I thought it was interesting. Yeah. All right. We skipped traffic. Let's go.
Take a look at that now, Kath. What's going on, please? An accident on 495 southbound between Highway 3, Edgemore Road, and 12th Street. Two right lanes are blocked. 95 southbound out of the Northeast Jams Academy into the Betsy Ross Bridge, the Vine westbound. Slowing from 8th to the Schuylkill Eastbound Jams, the Boulevard, into the Vine westbound, the Boulevard to Conchahawken. Also from Pashyunk to South Street. Blue Route northbound, volume building 95 to the Media Bypass Eastbound.
And then an accident on Allegheny Avenue at Hunting Park Avenue. Traffic being diverted around the area. In Hilltown Township, Bucks County, Route 113. Between 313 and Elephant Road, a downed tree has the roadway blocked. This traffic report brought to you by Whole Foods Market. Awake your taste buds during their Fire Up Asia event. Whole Foods Market with deals on produce, marinated proteins, snacks, and more through February 25th. And that's your traffic on 93.3 WMMR. No, it's not.

Brought to you by Helium Comedy Club. You can heat up your winter with some big-time laughs at Helium. Celebrating 20 years of bringing Philly the best comics of today and tomorrow. Live every week. Tickets and lineup at HeliumComedy.com. Here's a story I didn't get a chance to share last week. But a humpback whale briefly swallowed a kayaker off Chilean Patagonia before quickly releasing him unharmed. This footage is...
Amazing and terrifying. The incident caught on camera quickly went viral as one of the most remarkable footage in Chile in recent years. Adrian Simencas was kayaking with his father, Del, when a humpback whale surfaced, engulfing him and his yellow kayak for a few seconds before letting him go. He said that he saw a marionette and an old man on a raft. Uh-huh.
Adele, just meters away, captured the moment on video while encouraging his son to stay calm. You can hear him in the video saying, stay calm, stay calm, as his son was released from the whale's mouth.
He said, I thought I was dead. This is according to Adrian. Hello. He said, I thought it had eaten me and that it had completely swallowed me. He described the terror of those few seconds and explained that his real fear set in only after resurfacing, fearing that the huge animal would hurt his father or that he would die in the frigid waters. Despite the terrifying experience,
Del remained focused, filming and reassuring his son while grappling with his own worry. He said, when I came up and started floating, I was scared that something might happen to my dad. And maybe we wouldn't reach the shore in time or I would get hypothermia because the water is very, very cold there. Well, think about this. What if the whale had dove a little bit and gone down in a few movements of its tail? You would have gone down far enough that you would not be able to reach the surface.
So, yeah, there are a whole bunch of things that just a general being swallowed by a whale is bad enough. After a few seconds in the water, Adrian managed to reach his father's kayak and was quickly assisted. And despite the scare, both returned to the shore uninjured. Could have been worse. He could have come out the other side. He could have. Do you think it was like when we accidentally swallow a fly? Exactly. The whale couldn't believe it. Oh, no. Yeah.
In Michigan, some parents are upset after a Caledonia area daycare center sprayed kids' sleeping mats with melatonin without their knowledge. To knock them out? It happened at Adventures Learning Center. A recording of the daycare's live feed created by a parent showed a worker spraying three mats with Dr. Teal's sleep spray with melatonin and essential oils.
Melatonin is a natural hormone, but it's not approved by the FDA for use in children. And parents should consider consulting a pediatrician before using it. A retired pediatrician said it's likely harmless unless the child has a condition like asthma.
He qualified, though, there's a difference between parents using it in their own home and someone else, babysitter, nanny, or daycare, using it without their knowledge. Hey, kids, who wants a NyQuil lollipop? In a statement, Adventurers Learning Center said that when leaders became aware of the situation, they immediately told the worker to stop using the spray, removed it from the building, and reached out to the state to confirm that they had taken the correct action. The employee, who was not dismissed, reached out to say that she had no malicious intent in using it. She just wanted to help the kids have a good nap.
It is kind of ingenious. That because it is considered natural, it did not occur to her that she should ask parents before using it. Do you think that would work for someone who has an adult who has sleep issues to do likewise? I don't know. What? Spray the stuff? I have no idea. And, Case, you took melatonin for a while. Yeah. Did it help you, you think? Well, it helps you fall asleep. It doesn't help you stay asleep. All right. I didn't notice. Yeah.
The issue that I've had with it is I fall asleep like a ton of bricks. And about a half hour to 45 minutes later, I wake up and I'm like, I can't fall back asleep. Wow. Okay. I tried it a couple times. I didn't notice anything. So who knows? A Michigan man has been arrested and charged with six counts of attempted homicide after he drove nearly 700 miles and allegedly setting fire to the Pennsylvania home of
of a man who had been communicating with his ex-girlfriend. He's so jealous. So the alleged arson took place February 10th in Ben Salem. Oh, boy. And police and firefighters responded to Merganser Way for report of a dwelling fire. Upon arrival, emergency services located six adult residents who had evacuated from the home, some of whom had jumped out of the second-story windows to escape the flames. They were transported to nearby hospitals with injuries that appeared to be intentionally set up
and incendiary in nature. So nearby home surveillance captured a black sedan as it passed the home and stopped at the intersection at 5.01 a.m. Somebody exited the vehicle with an object, walked toward the residence after approximately 15 minutes. They ran back to the waiting vehicle and left. And then smoke could be seen billowing up from a rear yard of the home.
from the rear yard of the home and within 30 seconds a large explosion was observed. It's an inferno. So just again, he was upset because this person was talking to his ex. So during the investigation, detectives utilized township intersection cameras to identify and track the vehicle entering and exiting the township. The vehicle came back to Brian Jones of Rockford, Michigan. Uh,
They discovered that a 21-year-old male resident had an online relationship with a female who lived in Michigan and was supposed to come to Ben Salem to meet in person for the first time this week. The ex-boyfriend of the female was identified as Jones.
And so a search warrant for his residence went out and they seized the vehicle that they found lock picking devices, a cell phone and computer. Makes you wonder why they ever broke up. Authorities also discovered what appeared to be burns on Jones's arms after they made contact with him. So he was arrested and charged with six counts of attempted criminal homicide. Yeah, I could kill 700 miles and set that house on fire. That's crazy.
All right, and then one last story, and we will wrap things up. Let's go with this one. First responders in Michigan rescued two men who had fallen through the ice into the Croton Dam Pond while snowmobiling on Thursday night. They were taken to a local hospital to be treated for hypothermia. Friday afternoon, Frederick Espy...
had said that he and his friend were the two men that were rescued. He said, we were going to go for a ride on the lake and we got kind of disoriented. We were going to turn around and when my friend took off, he got about 30 yards ahead of me and he just sank. And I didn't know what to do. The sheriff's office said they believed that alcohol was a factor in the incident. Possibly. SB said mistakes were made and he hopes others can make safe decisions. He recalled seeing his friend fall through the ice and then trying to help him out. He said he was struggling to stay up. He's an amputee.
And she said his friend lost his leg after a motorcycle accident. And he said he had his hand out. I grabbed it and I and I went in. He said that while the ice kept breaking, he was able to climb out of the water where he then made a critical decision. I had to make that choice to stay and help him until we both die or go and get help and have him hold on. So dude left.
I'm going to go grab a bite. And he managed to find a driver and stop and call 911. They got back and they saved the dude. That's pretty miraculous. Yeah, they got very, very lucky. But for anyone else who may be thinking about snowmobiling on the ice, SB has some advice. He said, if you're going on a snowmobile, stay on land.
And don't drink. Yeah. All right, and there you go. And that is what I have in the bizarre file for you this morning. All right, we will take a break. We'll come back in a moment or two. And, yeah, stick with us because we've got stuff to give away and things to talk about. We are back. We are back.

Thanks, Kath. Real quick before we do anything, a couple of shout outs I want to do. Let's see. This one, what's today's date? 19th? Yeah, this is for yesterday. He says, I'd like to answer a birthday shout out as a gift for myself every year now. So my 34th birthday is February 18th.
But any time in February would be great. Last time I got my shirt out red in March, which made it more special to me. And what was more special to me was being able to meet the whole press and Steve crew and the wonderful interns, Ben, Grace, and Sean back in August. I already expressed my gratitude in the letter I sent, but thank you again for allowing me to sit in the program and have the opportunity to gift you guys books and bake and cook for all of you. It was great to hear Kathy's approval of my kitchen.
because she brought in pictures. She has to make sure it was sanitary. Uh, so thank you for everything you do around the surrounding communities. You make, uh, you all make me feel hopeful. Love ya. Connie, uh, Benkowski. Uh, she said, uh, by the way, you're one of the few people who pronounced my name right the last time you read it. I hope you did again. Yeah. All right. So happy birthday to you. There's your shirt. Uh,
Then there was one that says, hey, Preston, I was hoping you could send a shout-out to my son Steve. He has a special anniversary on the 19th. Steve is a loyal listener now living in Georgia. A prouder father I couldn't be. Thank you in advance for your consideration. That is from Jeff Bancroft. So here's a shout-out to your son. And then this one says, hey, Gadzooks, I've never been one to be on the top of
of the hip things in life. So I put off watching Cobra Kai, and I spent the last couple of years listening to you and the rest of the show go on and on about it, and I finally decided to start watching it. One episode in, and I am hooked. Damn you, Preston. And I don't know why I waited so long, nor do I know why I felt compelled to email you about it, but alas, I did. Thank you for having me.
about this show, or I guess talking about this show for so long. Your longtime loyal listener, Brent, and all my friends call me Boats. That is from Mike Hazleton. He said, I think you deserve a shout-out for this, so he's giving me a shout-out. Yeah, your own shout-out. Wanted to mention that real quick. And, breaking news,
The YouTube stream is now running. Yeah! We've had issues with the YouTube stream. Marissa wants to thank the engineers and Newman Media, our official partner of the President Steve YouTube live stream. So that is now up and running. You can tune in and watch to your heart's content, my friend. There was a nice little...
group of YouTubers out at the parade. Yeah. Right in front of us. And a lot of people watching on YouTube that couldn't make it on Friday, Steve. It was really cool to see how many people tuned in via YouTube on Friday because we were at the parade. Yep. All right. There are some things on my mind. My mind is a raging torrent flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives. The stream of consciousness, sir. Yes. Yes.
And I'm going to stream right into a YouTube story, which is apropos since we were just talking about our YouTube stream. And if your algorithm feels like it's kind of stuck and you're getting the same stuff over and over again...
There is a way that you can take control of your algorithm. And I read about this over the weekend. And all you have to do is delete everything from your YouTube history. That's it. Okay. Yeah. But there's a few steps you have to take to get there. You'd think it would be easy to do that. Right. But I saw this article. To get started, you have to head to myactivity.google.com.
And from there, you can delete everything that you've done on Google products. Things that you've searched for, websites you visited in Chrome, the places that you went to on devices with Google Maps installed, and all of the YouTube videos that you've watched. So let's say you've been looking for undetectable ways to kill someone. Right. This is a good way to get rid of that. So you can filter down and see your YouTube videos by clicking YouTube history and then clicking manager history.
And from here, you can manually delete any videos that you'd rather not have influencing your YouTube algorithm. My YouTube algorithm is pretty good right now. It's giving me a lot of good stuff. I'm watching a lot of drum videos, Preston. Are you?
How did that start? Well, I subscribed to Drumeo to watch the Phil Collins. Oh, yeah. And then I did the Kenny Arnoff. Arnoff, yeah. He broke down Jack and Diane. Yeah. And so now I'm hooked on that. So I'm being besieged, but it's okay.
Anything you delete will stop affecting your YouTube algorithm. There's even a search tool, meaning that you can filter down to only videos that mention particular topics. And this is great if you want to be surgical about the topics that you don't want to see anymore. You just search for something and delete the videos you're no longer interested in. Now, you can also delete absolutely everything, thus completely resetting your YouTube algorithm. To do this, you click the delete button and then click delete all.
All time. See. You'll be asked to confirm after that, after which all of your YouTube watch history will be deleted. You head back to YouTube and there will be no videos on the homepage. Like nothing will be suggested for you at all. And then you start anew. Yep. And then you have to start. That means I would lose my wingsuit and baby otter videos. You'd have to search those out.
first and or your subscriptions will continue to generate. I really don't. I mean, I do go to YouTube, but it is not a website that I park myself on where I end up just scrolling. I thought I never would be and I do. But I have a lot of their show. Like I subscribe. I go down YouTube holes and I end up
on my television that I'm doing that. Yeah, I still go after YouTube, Case. I can't bring myself...
The moment that I notice on Instagram, I don't even have, I have TikTok, but I never go on it. The moment that I start going scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll. And if I'm doing that for like five minutes, I'm like, what am I doing? And I stop. You don't do that on YouTube. You sit down and you watch the content. Yeah, you find things. And so, yeah, I find that, that's more enjoyable for me. Do you guys have the YouTube app on your TVs at home? Yes. Okay, I use it all the time. I subscribe to so many channels and I watch more and more stuff online.
I can't even think of anything that I watch live anymore. It's either on a streaming app or on YouTube. The last thing I sat down and made a concerted effort to watch live in real time was the SNL 50th. Yeah, okay. That's it for me. And then sports, of course. But beyond that, it's almost exclusively app or YouTube. Steve and I were talking the other day. I still surf movies.
Because a lot of times I'm like, I want to watch something. What time is it? I'm not committed to two hours to watch a whole thing right now. But if I find something that I know and I've watched it before, I'll jump in and catch it for a little bit while I have a few minutes and then I'll move on to whatever it is I need to do. That's on cable. Uh,
Yeah, on cable. When I go on YouTube, a lot of times to sit down and watch stuff, it's later in the evening when I'm getting ready for bed and I'll just be like, all right, what's 15 minutes long? I'm not going to dive into something big and chunky. That's why the algorithm does favor that length, 15 to 20 minutes. Yep.
Yep. So if you would prefer that your YouTube homepage stay blank, it's possible. You just have to head back to myactivity.com. I'm sorry, myactivity.google.com. And from there, you can turn off all YouTube history and you will stop tracking which videos you've watched going forward and YouTube's homepage will remain blank all the time.
So long as you're logged into your Google account. So that's pretty stark if you want to do that. It sure is. Yeah. Why are you erasing yourself? But it's pretty amazing how quickly you can sway your algorithm on TikTok, for example. You watch one video pertaining to something with any sort of specificity and you're going to be besieged by that topic. Have you ever accidentally gone on to something and you're like, oh, no.
I didn't mean to do that. And now you're going to get spoon fed that for a while. Let me second hand. Let me go to this real quick. I have Barry who has a question. Hi, Barry. You're on the air, buddy. Hi, Grandma. Hi, Grandma. What's up, man?
I watch a ton of YouTube. It's pretty much all I have at home. You guys notice that when the ads come on, the volume is 30% higher. It blows your speakers out. Yo, ever heard of Jerknate? Yeah, no, they do. That's why a couple of years ago, I just went with the premium. I just pay for the commercial free because you're exactly right. The, the,
And a lot of times if you go, Barry, from video to video, there's not as much of a control over the uniformity of the volume and your ears will get blown out on certain channels. But yeah, I have noticed that.
I know a couple years ago, the FCC came out with something regarding the volume of ads on TV, but it doesn't pertain to YouTube. Yeah. Interesting. All right. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. How much is that subscription, by the way? It's probably about a quarter of a million dollars. It's probably like the other... YouTube TV? Yeah. It's been jacked up...
six times in the last three years. And initially, it was really affordable. It was actually one of the most affordable best apps for streaming anything or for being sort of a pseudo cable service. And it's become just as expensive, really, as any other cable streaming service at this point. I'm not subscribed to YouTube TV. I'm just on the premium tier of YouTube. So you pay to not get the ads.
Okay. And then YouTube TV is another charge. Nick, are you on YouTube? No. Okay. No, no, no. Because it's become too expensive. For me, right... And I was actually having a conversation with my dad over the weekend. Like, he's tired of paying the cable bills. And I get it. Right now...
There are so many average to below average options. You got to choose the best of those options. And whatever suits you the best. And they're all relatively expensive. They're all pretty much what cable costs were five, six years ago. And, you know, like...
It's what's consistent for you and really how you like watching television. I've gotten to the point now where, for the most part, live TV doesn't matter that much to me anymore, so I'm fine with the streaming services and paying for those apps. But whatever suits you best. And if you have, for example, Xfinity or Comcast, you can't...
you might like the, uh, the bundle, you know, if you're going to get the cable and then the, uh, internet service and maybe even the phone on top of it, it really just depends on what your needs are. And it's kind of why they pay for a, uh, a snuff film channel out of Ecuador and they include six ABC. Oh, that's weird. So weird. Okay. So if you want to delete your YouTube history, you can do it, uh, and, uh, and reset your algorithm, but you have to go to my activity.google.com. And that's, that's where you do that. All right. Uh,
Another thing, the stream of consciousness there. Nick sent me this. This is quite interesting. Legoland Discovery Center, Philadelphia. That's the one in Plymouth meeting.
is searching for their next master model builder and wants to pay someone to play with Lego bricks. Okay. It's the dream job of a lifetime, and their office will be in the heart of the ultimate indoor Lego playground in Plymouth Meeting. So top applicants will be invited to compete in their Brick Factor 2025, which is a live competition. It's coming up on March 22nd.
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the attraction. And participants will execute timed builds, freestyle builds, assigned builds, and multiple interviews all while interacting and engaging with kids. So, I
I know so many... I know far more adults that are into Lego and Lego building. And it's... You guys have all said you enjoy it, right? It's fun. So it's a puzzle. But, of course, the end result could be... I've said that I'm thinking of getting the Titanic one because it looks like it'd be pretty amazing. Yeah. So...
that Will Ferrell show, that competition, is that still on? The Lego, Master of Lego or whatever that is? It wasn't Will Ferrell. I mean, Will... Arnett. Arnett, yeah. I don't know if it's still on or not. It's like a Zen thing to do. It takes your mind off of everything else that's going on and you can just disconnect for a little bit and focus on what's in front of you. Yeah.
Yep. We do a lot of Legos at our house still. I have adult children and we still build Legos together. Something to be said for that. I always see them at Costco. They always have these special editions and I look at them. It looks like that could be fun, but no.
I've never gotten into Lego and I'm definitely not a freeform Lego guy. I'm not a freeform guy. Forget it. I have zero creativity. I can make you a set of stairs. I'm really good at a colorful wall. I can do like a pseudo looking front of a castle thing and that's about it.
But the ones, Casey, though, the kits that you get, I mean, they're very detailed directions. I've done those. And it's fun watching it come together. Right. Watching someone else put it together. No, I mean, I like doing it. But so how do you... From this press release, Nick, I didn't quite see exactly...
how you get signed up for it. So you have to reach out to Legoland, Discovery Center, Philadelphia, and Plymouth meetings. So the old master passed away or moved on? Yeah, I don't know, Steve. Are they expanding? I'm not really sure. It's their next master model builder.
And it's going to be Saturday, March 22nd, 10 to 3. We need to know, master. In Plymouth meeting. So look into that if that's your thing. Yeah, it's called Merlin Careers. Like Merlin, like the wizard. So Google search Merlin and then Lego and Discovery Center Philadelphia. Do you have the ability? Will you be our master? Always within walking distance of Popeye's. You! You!
Apparently there are several steps you have to take to master that. All right, here's another thing.
Do I need a new segment called And Another Thing? Yeah, you do. This is the second Another Thing that you've done. I know, I know. This is a sub-segment of the stream of consciousness there. Well, eventually we'll come up with a good sound effect and piece of music to do And Another Thing. Yeah, we had something. Yeah, really? We do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So this was from Ice Cube. Oh, yeah. And Another Thing. Yeah.
I didn't even know we did that. All right, as soon as we come up with some good music for that, then we'll make an official another thing. And we're just calling it another thing. You're not the and another thing-er. No, no, it's just an another thing. So I thought this would be nice. We're in the middle of this horrible cold weather, you know, hellish.
it's not a vortex, but whatever this thing that's going on across the country. I thought it might be nice to talk about beaches for a moment. Just to get us in another frame of mind. Trip Advisors, Traveler Choice Awards for the best beaches of 2025 have
Have now come out. So they are chosen based on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings for the beaches from real travelers who have been there.
And this year's list includes beaches on six continents and in 50 countries. So they've broken it down to the top 10 beaches in the world and the top 10 beaches in the U.S. Okay. So we'll start in the U.S. because I think that... There's a lot more likely to go to. We'll feel a little more connected. And there's some that we probably... I know there's one in particular that we have all been to before.
But number one on this list, the top beach in the United States is Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Florida. I keep hearing about this place. It's not too far from where we go in Clearwater, is it, Nick? I don't think so, no. No, it's not too far. It's a little bit of a drive. My friend lives there and was like, you have to come vacation. This is where you have to go next time you go. So is there surf there or is it a more... It's like...
I think there's like almost... I think they call it like the circle or something like that. So it's like a little town where there's bars and restaurants. You know, obviously a beach and all of that. But yeah, she said they love going there. So she doesn't live inside Siesta Key. She lives just outside. Okay. It's south of St. Pete. Yeah, it's right near Sarasota. All right. Well, former clown college. You know what? I might...
I might have been there. I'm going on a golf trip down that way in the spring. I think we might be right down there by Siesta Key. That would be cool. I think I've been there. Okay. Yeah, this looks very familiar, the video we're looking at. Nice. And it was a lovely beach. It definitely had a... We want to get there around evening time. So it's... Sunsetting. Considered the number one beach in America. It's very nice. I'm not seeing anything that...
Ultra blows me away about it. Number two on this list I've been to. It's Poipu Beach in Beach Park in Hawaii. It's on Kauai. I almost feel like Hawaii beaches should have their own category. Probably, man. You picked the best beach in Hawaii. The ones, the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to have all been in Hawaii. This being one of them, we took surf lessons there. It was a lot of fun.
And then they have kind of Apali Beach. That's in Maui. I've been there before. And that's cool. There are resorts there. So it's one of those type of beaches. So that's really pretty. La Jolla Cove in La Jolla, California is number four. Cock-a-bee-bee-boo-boo? Nope. No.
Not that I know of. Waukeke Beach, Oahu. Been there before. Yes. That's number five on the list. Which when I was there, I felt... It's packed. But I felt like weird that there was this beautiful beach in front of you and then like a city behind you. The city right behind you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's a cool city. It's cool. And then you look over, you see Diamond Head. Diamond Head is right there. It looks so awesome. And then listen to this. Number six on the list.
Clearwater Beach in Clearwater, Florida. Wow. Well, shut the front door. Is that the same beach that our hotel is on? No, we're on Sand Key. So we are just south of Clearwater Beach. I mean, it's walking distance. It's basically the same thing. Clearwater's come around, man. Yeah, I don't like the beach, though. You don't? It's too shelly.
It's too shelly? Yeah, it's not sandy enough. There's a lot of broken... I don't mind the wide part. It's the broken shells I don't like walking on. They cut your tootsies? They cut your tootsies. I've never walked... When we've been there, I've never walked all the way down to the...
I've walked down to Kathy sitting on a lounge chair. No, you get a hop on a golf cart. That's as far as I've made it. Which was basically just like a step away from the pool. From the pool, yeah. Looked nice to me. I walked the length of it. I walked all the way almost to like Indian Rocks Beach just because of how pretty I find it to be. I really enjoy it. The water's nice.
By the way, people who are asking, we are back in Clearwater this year. I know it's not officially official or whatever, but we're flying on the 12th, broadcasting from the ballpark on the 13th. And then we'll be at Coco's in Clearwater Beach on March 14th, a Friday. Coco's. Yeah, less than a month. Oh, my God. How about that? I didn't even think... I was thinking about the things that we have coming up after the parade and all the stuff we had in BirdBot and everything that we've been working on. I haven't done enough. I was like, okay, we've got...
We have Cardboard Classic, and then we have a nice break for a while. Yeah, a nice couple weeks. No, we don't. We don't. That's a nice break. These are good things, but there's a lot of work involved. Clearwater's work, but it's my favorite work of the year. I love that broadcast so much, and being at the ballpark, and just...
Quite honestly, getting out of Pennsylvania that time of year is such a relief and something to look forward to. So Thursday the 13th, we're at the ballpark, and then Friday the 14th at the Clearwater Beach. Nick, when you walked from Sankey down to Indian Rocks, how long did that take? A few hours. Okay. But we're lucky enough to stay in a beautiful place, and yeah, it's a really nice long walk. I enjoyed it a lot. Okay.
The top 10 beaches in the U.S., number seven on this list is Driftwood Beach in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Jekyll Island? Never been there. No. Number eight is Puna'alu'u Black Sand Beach. Here we go again. In Pahala, Hawaii. I'm not sure which island that's on. Is that Maui? I don't know. It might be. Oh.
It's a famous, you know, the volcanic ash beaches. Oh, the sand, the black sand is usually on Kauai. Maybe it's Kauai, yeah. Might be the big island, might be on Hawaii. Nick, it's spelled P-U-N-A-L-U. The rest. No. It's on Oahu. Apostrophe U. It's on Oahu? It's on Oahu. Oh, wow. Okay.
Then you have number nine is Bahia Honda State Park in Big Pine Key, Florida. Oh, yeah, that's cool. You can see manatees there. Okay. Yeah, it's sort of in between like Marathon and Key West. So if you're driving the length of the Keys, which is a fun drive, more than...
Probably about two-thirds of the way from Miami to Key West. Beautiful. And there are a lot of underwater... There are a lot of super crystal clear lagoons and things in that area. Oh, I love that. My wife has gone swimming with the manatee. You cannot touch the manatee. However, legally, they can have sex with you. Wow. You just... You have to allow them to. But...
But, yeah, you can't touch them. Oh, the huge manatees. Yes. Wait, I was mistaken. That beach in Hawaii is on the Big Island, and Steve, it is one with the black sand. On the Big Island. Okay. And then the last one is Ho'okipa Beach Park in Maui, Hawaii. So, yeah, you're right, Case. It needs to be. Have your own category, and that's fine. You guys win. Yeah. Now eat me. Yeah.
The top in the world, and I'll go through these quickly because I doubt we've been to any of these. Elephanisi Beach in Crete. Crete. Greece. Banana Beach in Phuket, Thailand, which is where the White Lotus is being shot in Thailand, or is being set, has been set in this last episode. Good Lord. Season. Eagle Beach in Aruba. Eagle Beach! Eagle Beach! Eagle Beach!
Siesta Beach, as I mentioned, is number one in the U.S., is number four on the world list, and then number five is in Portugal.
I'll tell you what. Playa de Felicia. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to and is usually in the top ten of beaches around the world is Elbow Beach in Bermuda. I kid you not, the sand on that beach is like flour that you cook with. If you're not into the shelliness, this is unshellied. Let me go to Danny because he wanted to point something out like that. Hi, Danny. Good morning. Hey, good morning, Ed. Good morning to see you. Danny, what's going on, brother? I'm
Wow.
Amazing. I lived in Sarasota for six years growing up as a kid. The best beach you could ever want to go to in your life. Is that sand or just bales of cocaine that have split apart? You know, I always wondered if it kind of washed up from Cuba, but it makes the day perfect. I'm so happy. So super soft sand.
It's like cold talcum powder. It's nothing like burning your feet at the Jersey Shore. That's for dang sure. All right, cool. Thanks, man. Appreciate it, bud. There was one beach we were in in Florida. It might have been Flagler Beach where it was so goddamn hot. The sand was unbelievably... I was to the verge of crying. You know what I think of every time I hear the words Flagler Beach? What?
Me seeing my grandmother's knockers because that's where she lives. Oh. And I relive that every time. Well, I was going to share a story about hot sand, not your grandmother's knockers. I have a picture of you. We were on the North Shore of Oahu and the beach was just...
So hot it was ridiculous. And we had found a spot in the shade amongst the trees. And we had walked all the way down to the water. And the whole way you're there like, oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, God, God, God, God. And you're running. And then you get to the water and then there's coral. Yeah, yeah. And it's like, oh, my God, I can't stand on that. It was horrible. So we eventually made our way to the shade.
And we saw this couple come walking up. There's plenty of people on the beach and everything. Saw this couple come walking up. He didn't have sandals on. Oh, man. And I told him, I go, hey, just to let you know, the sand is really, really, really hot. And it's a long walk to the water. Just want to give you a heads up. Oh, okay. Thank you. And they kept going. And I'm like, shell.
Let's watch this. Let's take this in. And sure enough, dude, by the time they got like 20 yards from the water, they were sprinting. At what point? Sprinting. Did they look like Aunt Beru outside the... Completely burnt to a crisp. But it's kind of funny when you've given fair warning. I warned you. And watch someone else do it. There's only so much you can do.
Hang on a second here. Kirsten wants to comment on Jekyll Beach. That was in Georgia, I believe, right? Yeah. Hi, Kirsten. Good morning. Hi. Good morning, tornado. Tornado. What's happening, Kirsten? So I actually, well, I'm surprised Jupiter, Florida wasn't on that list of beaches because it's one of the most beautiful. However, on our way to our wedding, we stopped at Jekyll Island. And when I tell you this place is otherworldly,
There's nothing I've ever seen like it. So it's miles and miles, as far as you can see, of these dead trees almost that are like growing out of the sand and that come up ashore. But it just looks like you're on another planet. But would you call it beautiful, the dead trees? Yeah. Really? If you actually Google it, it'll kind of give you an idea. But we actually went for sunrise.
And it was probably the most beautiful sunrise I've ever seen. Yeah, we're looking at a video of this and it looks like just tons of driftwood that is, I mean, like large pieces of driftwood. These things are actually massive. When I'm saying, like, you can climb up them. I mean, the pictures are absolutely beautiful. It seems like the perfect place to go get impaled. Yeah. I don't know about swimming necessarily. I'm sure you could. Yeah, that's really cool. I think you have, like, trails, but...
But the island itself is very interesting. You actually drive over some bays. And then as you get in, you can rent golf carts to kind of go to and fro, whether it's like your own villa or hotel. Kirsten, can I ask, did they let you know how... I mean, because these are sizable, full trees that are on the beach. How...
I mean, how do they get there? I mean, because there's... Are they growing... Do they grow out of the sand that way? Are they... So, I have no idea if they're just washing ashore. I think they're growing out of the sand because there was not really a park ranger or anybody that I could speak to because you really kind of just explore yourself around the area. Okay. It does seem that they're growing out, I guess, to be the saltwater petrifies them? Yeah, I guess so. I mean, it's actually... I have no...
No idea. Yeah. It's like another planet. That's pretty wild. It does look otherworldly. That's pretty amazing. Yeah. Really neat. But they have like restaurants and bars and shopping kind of within the town area. Okay. And you can kind of, it's a great area for families too. I know they have some regular beaches, patches without the trees. Yeah. Without the dead trees.
Yeah, but I think that you really just go for the experience of what it's like. I've never seen anything like it. Wow, nice. All right, thank you, Kirsten. Yeah, no problem. We appreciate confirmation. Go Bears! Yeah, this video looks really interesting. Let me go to another call, and then we'll move on to something else. I have Sean. Hi, Sean. Morning, bud.
Hey, how you doing? Hey, I'm just concerned. I don't think your list is accurate because I'm pretty sure that Seattle city beach is the best one on the planet. Seattle city is the best one on the planet ever. Your favorite beach. I've been to ocean city, Maryland. I've been to ocean city, uh, New Jersey and then Seattle city. The best. All right. So those are the only three beaches you've been to? Uh,
As a kid, I went to one down in Florida when we went to Disney, but I don't remember the name of the beach, and that was all Shelly and Sandy. Is he too many shows? Yeah, so, I mean, he's had experiences. I think we can trust him. He's been from New Jersey to one part of Florida. It's nice, Sean. It's nice, but there are some that are just...
Unbelievable. What, you were going to say Hawaii beaches are better than Sea Isle? Yeah, man. I've been very fortunate and have had the opportunity to travel to Hawaii on a few occasions. And the last time we were there, Rochelle was asking around to locals about good places to go to, and they steered us right. They steered us to...
Empty, beautiful, secluded, stunningly beautiful beaches. Did Seattle City come up? Off the beaten path. They mentioned Seattle City, but it was too far of a drive for us. Listen, bro, I'm going to tell you. I know you think you're here in paradise, but if you've never been to Seattle City, oh, man. Yeah. We couldn't do it. I got to tell you.
Couldn't make it happen. And then a wild woodcrest, man. All right. One more thing from Stream of Consciousness, if that's okay. Yes. All right. One more thing. The Stream of Consciousness. We're going to continue traveling a little bit. Featuring and another thing. I forgot that's what we're doing. Another thing.
All right, so datingadvice.com talked to 3,000 single travelers about their own personal experiences, and they came up with a list of the best airports for finding love in. The best airports for finding love. If that's what your life has come to, but yeah, lay it on us. What are the best airports? Wasn't there a rom-com based on this, like within the last year or two? Yes, with Meg Ryan. David Duchovny? Yes. Yeah, okay. So...
The question is, how do you actually meet someone special at the airport? The survey finds the best chances by getting seated next to them on the plane. But if you're not that lucky, having your flight delayed and bonding over shared frustration. Would you like some of my ribs? Is second best way to me. I had a friend of mine who met a long term girlfriend. They were together for years and they had met on the same thing. They had seated next to each other on a plane and they hit it off.
I thought that was kind of cool. That is pretty nice. That's how Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney met. You're right. We wouldn't have It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia if not for a plane. I had a friend who, and they're not together anymore, but he dated this girl for a long time. We met them in traffic when we were headed up to a Phish concert. It was in upstate Maine.
And we eventually get to a point where you're just going to be crawling in traffic for about 12 hours. And the people that were behind us ended up, you know. You started talking with them. You started talking to them. They should take a flight. Yeah. And then, you know, and then, yeah, the guy that I was with and the girl that was in that group, they ended up, like, hooking up all weekend and then saw each other. And, you know, I think they dated for, I don't know.
Like a year or two. That's pretty good. So, by the way, they mentioned that the ultimate airport icebreaker is to suggest asking to, the travelers suggest asking to borrow a phone charger from someone. That's how you kind of get the conversation started. May I borrow a tampon? What? What? Huh? I like to make little figures out of them. What? What?
It's a hobby of mine. Yeah, I make soldiers. Oh, I have a hobby too. If you have a code text, I use that as a shield. Kathy, when you are traveling and it is not that time of the month for you, do you still bring stuff with you? No, why would I? All right, so Steve, this is good. This is a good way to find out whether or not said lady is... Someone's on the rag. Excuse me, are you on the rag?
I know whether to proceed or not. I hate to ask this, but are you on the rag? Do you fly often? And are you on the rag? How many American Airlines miles do you have? And are you currently bleeding?
Those would be considered by most people to be intrusive questions. By the way, on the rag, it's one of my... It's a great saying. It's as reductive as you can get. Is it a great saying? Yeah, it is. It is. Are we sure on this? Listen, when Lincoln first mentioned it... I don't think so. I don't think I'm heading back to the White House. The message is on the rag. Better to stay out here in the Civil War. I'm safer.
On the rag. By the way, Bill Belichick met his very young girlfriend on a flight. On a plane! Get out. How did she end up in first class? She gave him a Heimlich. I was choking on a piece of steak.
She was probably haunting, let's be honest. Oh, I'm sure. She knew. I won't guarantee it, but she knew Belichick was absolutely. Worked. Well, maybe they met in Palm Beach, Florida, because that is considered the most romantic airport for making a connection and finding love. Palm Beach International Airport. What's next? Number two is Orlando. Orlando. Orlando. I love you.
Orlando. All the top ones are in Florida. Number three is Fort Lauderdale. Number four is Tampa International. Interesting. So why... I'm trying to think, does that rely simply on the...
Good weather? Does it rely on the actual layout of the airport that's conducive to that? Less clothing because it's warmer probably. I don't know. Helps. Number five is O'Hare in Chicago. Chicago! Completely different. Chicago! Number six is Savannah Hilton Head International. Number seven is Southwest Florida, which is in Fort Myers. I think Dallas-Fort Worth has a lot of areas that would be conducive to...
It's a sprawling airport. It's a great airport, yeah. The seating is such that you could be in a lot of bars and a lot of little nooks and things like that to make it a fun place to hang out. Number eight is Hartsfield Jackson in Atlanta. Number nine, and this is the surprising one on the list to me,
Atlantic City International Airport. We've been hearing about that. Was it you that brought up the fact about flying out of Atlantic City, Kathy? Yes, I flew out once. Did you fall in love? At the time, it was terrible, but they have since redone it, so maybe that
has something to do with it because it's, I think, a fairly new airport. I was looking into some possibilities of flying this summer, just trying to figure out summer vacation plans and whatever. And Kathy, when I was Googling flights or whatever, every time I would put in Philadelphia, I would also get Harrisburg and Atlantic City. And I'm thinking about it because there are direct flights to places that I'm considering going and it's a little bit more affordable going out of AC. It is. It's just annoying because you have to be careful when you fly in because then you do have a bit of a drive and think about it if you're coming at,

That is just crippling a good part of the U.S. right now. The high 30 degrees. We're in mostly cloudy skies today. That wind continues as well. I took my dogs for a walk yesterday. It was excruciating. I was out in like 20 mile an hour steady wind, not gusts. I mean like this steady wind. And it was like...
biting ass cold, man. Well, I have a new fee. This is their weather and I go out and my dog actually looked at me and said, pussy. That's how much it's getting. So we have a couple more days today. Tomorrow as well. High 29 and clouds.
Friday, a nice balmy 37 degrees to bring us out of this. And sunshine. But actually, Saturday, 40 is our high. And Sunday is 46. So we do have stuff coming that's going to feel much more comfortable. Yes, what's Sane played there. I am your emcee over 75 raffle baskets, 50-50 drink specials, free photo booth, a ton of stuff. And it all benefits Phil Adoptables. And they do great work for animals all throughout the tri-state area. You know how fantastic they are. They also have that hunks and hounds calendar. And I will be there serving as a contrast to the hunks to make you appreciate them more. But a lot of the hunks will be there. I know most women want to see the hunks. It's a wonderful event.
Again, it's the one event that Philadelphia Adoptables really kind of puts their hand out and says, could you help us out? Because they do such great work. For me, to hear your voice on the radio station that you've listened to forever is just the coolest thing ever. I even brought my daughter to make sure it was real. You are a mega listener. We were talking over to my house recently, helping us. We're redoing our kitchen. In fact, you did the kitchen in the Manion cast. But yes, you know all the ins and outs of the show. We appreciate it. Hell, you even let us almost make you an amputee at one point during the camp out. You can see the fingers. Is it still there? It's still like the...
First of all, I felt like such an idiot. But the fact that my nail will never grow back, it always has that crease. Every time I hear the word camp out, I'm like, yeah, it's the day I almost lost my finger. That was good. Well, you're doing it for a good cause. You built a table for someone. Yeah, that was fun. Jeff, I wanted to ask you about this weekend. You're going to be doing a bunch of different things. You've got some demos and stuff like that. But one of the things I was curious about, it says here, Jeff will be presenting...
on how to hire a contractor. That's on Saturday and Sunday. So that's a, we've hired a contractor a couple of times. That's a weird little dance you have to do. It is. But the truth is, is that most homeowners don't do the homework that they need to do before they hire a contractor. Right. It's like they're so excited to just have the work done that they look the other way. It's like dating, but
Kind of dating the wrong person. You're actually, you are doing, you're helping us with this very thing, with our process with the kitchen. It's daunting. And you're right. Doing your due diligence will pay off because there's two different parties that don't quite know how to communicate. And it's also, it's not just the work. I mean, a good contractor should always be able to complete the work for you. They should be able to be a good carpenter, be a good electrician, be a good plumber.
However, a lot of times it's fit, it's personality. We all know that we latch on to people that are, you know, they fit us, so to speak. So if it's the right personality that fits you, that's the one, you know...
Within reason, but many folks won't even ask for referrals. I just got asked for my first referral in 35 years yesterday. Really? You would suggest- 35 years. That's a standard, right? That's a standard thing. And the reason why I say, and this is part of my, I call it a lecture, but it's a presentation, but it's part of that process where you have to find out, and it's not asking like, how was your remodel? Do you like your kitchen? Do you like your bath? It's like, was the contractor on time?
Was there any overages? Is there anything that you would change? What would it be? Did they respect your house? Did they step on your dog? Really think about the things that when people come into your house, we want our shoes... We want you to take your shoes off for what does dust control look like? We all complain about it, but to our contractor to this, but it was never brought up to them. It's very sage advice. You know something else that you mentioned and I...
So again, in this process of doing our kitchen, every one of the contractors that we talked to all recommended that we talk to multiple contractors. And if one doesn't suggest that, they're not going to be worth a damn, are they? No. They want you to find, as you said, find the right fit. And it's not offensive to them for you to do it because they as well are looking for someone who will benefit, for the most part, a good contractor. Correct. That they can work with. Correct? Correct.
Yes. We had a guy one time we were getting some work done. This is not a horror story, but it was just like, what? So we wanted to get a deck and a patio built. One of these two things made. And the guy showed up and we're talking to him about whatever. He's like, I think you'd be better off with just a patio. And we're like...
No, we've decided we want this. We want a deck and a patio. He's like, well, I mainly do patios. I think it'd be good. He's like, okay, well, I'll mock up some stuff. I'll draw some things out and I'll come back. And like a few days later, he comes back and the only thing he presented to us was just a patio. And we're like,
no, we wanted, we told you we wanted a deck and a patio. And then he started to get mad at us because I did all this conversation. I did all this work already. And we're like, but we, we,
We told you. Well, you're traumatized by having broken glass as a backsplash. Yeah. I remember those. Jeff was there when we were on Trading Spaces. Jeff was working for the production crew. And so he saw it firsthand. Yeah. I mean, but truth be told, and this is something that people, there's a lot of disrespect going both ways with contractors and homeowners. One,
One of the things that we do as a company at Schoolhouse Woodworking is that we charge for estimates. And the reason why we do that is because it doesn't... When you go to someone's house, if they're not respecting your time, then they're not listening. They're not paying attention. And then you'll get follow-up questions. As soon as you charge for it, people are so much ready. Oh, I have... Here's my list of questions. These are the things... And no, mind you, at the end of that...
You can take all of the information that was spouted out. A lot of the times contractors hold their ideas really close to them and hope they get the job. But the truth is, is that how do you know how much it's going to cost unless the design is done first? It's the process. There's no such thing as an estimate. Yeah. It's just that it's an estimate that you'll never even get close to. So at that point, you're dealing with somebody in the construction world or their sales. So their job is to sell. And that's not the person that's coming to your house. Right.
So they see it and they're like, well, hell, that's going to cost this amount of dollars. I think there's an old adage in customer service. If you do a great job and you totally satisfy everything that the customer wants, the customer might tell one or two people. If you do a terrible job, they're definitely going to tell nine or ten, right? And I think that that's...
doubly true for contractors. It's become a running joke in my family, but they had their kitchen redone in 1989, and to this day, they still talk about how much they loathed that contractor. It was just a terrible, awful experience. And in subsequent years, other work was done on their house and on my house, and great jobs were done. We don't share those stories, but man, do we share the stories of the...
Crap jobs. I'm wrong, Nick, but your parents had actually just asked for a patio and they redid the kitchen. They weren't listening. It was the angriest I've ever seen my dad in my life. But, you know, to that point, Jeff, like it doesn't take much and asking the right questions just is such a great way to get started. It's just – but it's time that homeowners are not willing to do. I mean when we – unless –
unless you ask for money, and I know this sounds forced, but unless you ask them for something that you invest in us, then we'll invest in you. That's when it kind of changes a little bit, and then they become focused. And then they do the work. Because I mean, I can't tell you how many times I get a phone call and saying, hey, we want to redo our kitchen. Great. What do you like? How do you cook? What do you do? Like, whatever you think was great. I'm like,
Yeah. Are you serious? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I use a microwave 90% of the time and my diet consists of Twizzlers and donuts and coffee. Right, right, yeah. So like I'm not a cook. So I'm not the guy to ask. So for me, I can design a kitchen for you, but I need to know these things. So you have to sit in your kitchen. You have to sit in your bathroom. Maybe not bathroom. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I sit there usually. Yeah, yeah. You can contemplate. When you're making number two. Right. Right.
But like you have to be, you have to be prepared to tell the contractor a little bit of what you want and gathering those ideas and putting them on paper, putting them on paper, not a conversation that you have with yourself, but you have with your spouse or your loved one, whoever's doing it with you. So that way it's concrete. This is the information we want. You're going to get a better estimate. You're going to get a better experience and you're going to get a great run. This is essential sage advice. We have Lauren Pierno, who is, you know, we've known for years. She is the, she is the, um,
She's the head of everything. She's our intermediary. So she's the one, to your point. She translates for you. It translates. In the kitchen, what do you do? What do you use it for? Of your pots and pans, how do you, you know, what do you think, you know, how much of these do you use? What?
what appliances do you really use? And that really holds a lot of swear, but we don't think that way. And so you're dealing with a contract or somebody coming and go, I don't know what you want. So here, we're going to throw the works at you. Or we're just going to go to Home Depot and pick up cabinets off the shelf and just throw them in. And that will suffice if you don't really care, but then people will complain that they didn't get the kitchen of their dreams yet. They didn't communicate. So I would love that.
my presentation is about communicating what you want and also being smart with your selections, not jumping into bed with the first person, getting the referrals.
Meeting with them. Paying them. Right. You want a contractor to pay attention to you? Say, hey, can I pay you for your time? I know most people will jump out of their cars, crash their cars right now if they're driving and listening to this. But imagine when you put your contractor and you value their time, they will do more. They will 100% do more for you. Let's take this up to the bedroom. Let's see. Yeah.
Anybody who's doing designs for us, I want to make sure they get paid. Even if we don't use them, if they're going to take the time. But you're right. That's the way things get serious about the kind of work you're going to get. Because if it's left unspoken...
That's going to lead to you at the point of like completion. Like I asked for a deck. Yeah. And, you know, what the hell happened here? And anything you're doing, anything substantial is going to cost money, whether it is a powder room or a kitchen or whatever. A dungeon. A dungeon. I mean, that's going to cost because you're also paying for discretion. Right. Yeah. But, you know, like as a homeowner, you I mean, there's this thing called Google.
Right? Yeah. You could Google it. Damn it. We tell our kids all the time, like, hey, you want to figure this out? Google it. You could find out how much an hourly rate is for plumbers in this area. What is an hourly rate for a plumber? How long will it take to put in a toilet? How much is the average kitchen 10 by 10? You can Google it and you can get all the information out to give you some. Now, mind you, your apps, your decisions will manipulate that a little bit, but you can be an educated plumber.
And if you choose not to be, I guarantee you, your process is not going to be enjoyable. That's very, very, very much correct. So Jeff Devlin is here from Schoolhouse Woodworking. And you know him from Stonehouse Revival, of course, and is going to be at the Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks.
for the Home and Garden show this weekend. And you're going to be there all day, every day? I will be there all day, every day. We have a booth. So this year we decided to do a booth. And the great people over at the Home Show, they're so awesome. They put on such a great show. I love the Home Show. It's so good. The stuff that's there is great. And you're saying that there's a big emphasis on local manufacturers, which is great this year. Yeah. Because they're in the game as well. Yeah, I mean...
