Preston and Steve, Casey and Kathy, Nick and Marissa, good morning, it's their

Hello, everybody. WMMR Philadelphia. I think you're sleeping.

Housekeeping, you want towels? More towels. Need sleepy. Housekeeping, you want mint for pillow? Please go away. Let me sleep for the love of... You're listening to Preston and Steve on 93.3 WMMR with Preston Elliott. You will listen to every damn word I can say. And Steve Morrison. Words are like bullets lost. Casey Boy. They are dead starving. Kathy Romano. I'm going to destroy...

Nick McElwain. I'm just not the hero type. And Marissa Magnata. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. And now, Preston and Steve on 93.3 WMMR. We're going to do this thing again another week together. Welcome, friend. And let's get you moving. We'll take a look at the weather forecast. And today.

Wow, it's going to feel like the Caribbean. Mid-50s. Yeah, that's not too bad considering where we've been. Guess who's got his shorts on? Partly cloudy skies today. Tomorrow, clouds but high near 60 degrees.

And sunshine on Wednesday, high 57. Thursday, showers high near 60. And we're getting, of course, it's warming up right as we're headed to the cardboard class. It's been freezing. It's been so cold. Brutally cold. 60 degree weather. Yep, so it's going to feel way different. Hello. Hello.

Preston and Steve's News Update with Kathy Romano. Monday, February 24th. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning. In the news this morning, a Camden police officer is fighting for his life after he was stabbed in the next Sunday evening. The officer, a 28-year-old military veteran...

has been who has been with the camden county police department for two years was patrolling south camden shortly before six o'clock on sunday evening when he went out to do a business check at a grocery store on broadway and chestnut officials said the officer got out of his patrol vehicle and was speaking with a person outside the store for nearly a minute when another man identified as 38 year old richard dennis of lindenwald new jersey approached the officer from behind and stabbed him in the neck

police say. Another officer responded to the scene and took the wounded officer to Cooper University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Dennis was arrested a short time after the stabbing and charged with attempted murder and other related offenses.

Workers at a central Pennsylvania hospital who were injured during a shooting that left a gunman and a police officer dead were reported medically stable Sunday as the hospital remained closed to visitors, according to the hospital. Investigators were still piecing together what happened a day after a man armed with a pistol and carrying zip ties headed straight to the intensive care unit at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York and took staff members hostage.

before he was killed by police in a shootout that also left an officer dead. A doctor, a nurse, a custodian, and two other officers were shot and wounded in the attack on Saturday, authorities said. A fourth hospital staffer was injured in a fall. UPMC officials and injured staff members were progressing in their recovery, but visitors would not be allowed for the time being as the hospital beefed up medical campus security. Authorities said they know little about

about the shooter's motive. York County District Attorney Tim Baker did say while the investigation is in the early stages, it appears the shooter had previous contact with the hospital's ICU earlier in the week for a medical purpose involving another individual and he intentionally targeted the workers there.

Pope Francis was resting on Monday at the Rome Hospital where he spent the last 10 days with pneumonia, a complex infection, and now kidney problems, all that have left him in critical condition, the Vatican said. The Vatican said in a statement on Monday morning that the night went well, the Pope slept and is now resting, but did not provide additional information about the health of the 88-year-old pontiff.

Officials were expected to give an update on his condition on Monday evening, a day after the Vatican said he was also suffering from the initial mild kidney failure. The Pope was alert and well-oriented. The tests show that his anemia improved thanks to blood transfusions, the Vatican said, adding that he was still recovering from high flows of... He was still receiving high flows of supplemental oxygen. It's wild hearing this news after I just watched the movie Cottonclave, which, you know, deals with all the...

back, you know, back Vatican, whatever, for lack of a better term, in selecting a pope. And apparently, you know, they have to always be aware and mobilize this possibility. So it is a massive undertaking when they're on watch like this. Francis, who as a young man had a part of his lung removed, has suffered a series of health conditions in recent years, but this is the longest hospitalization for a lung infection. In sports this morning...

What the f*** is that?

The Sixers, who have now lost seven games in a row and nine of their last ten, are at home tonight. We'll host the Chicago Bulls. According to Nick Nurse, Embiid did not practice Sunday. The Sixers head coach was asked whether Embiid's dip in level and admission that he's not his normal self has prompted any change in the team's approach to the superstar big man's bothersome left knee. Nurse said that they're trying to do all the things that they think are necessary, but agreed Embiid is not moving nearly as well as he has.

and beat his schedule to undergo tests on his knee early this week, at which time a decision may be made on the best route forward. Tip-off tonight is set for 7 o'clock. The Flyers have won two games in a row and are at home tomorrow night to host the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first game of a home-and-home between the two teams. The puck will drop at 7 o'clock. The Union began their season with a win in Orlando on Saturday night.

Ty Barbo scored two goals as the visiting Union opened the season with a 4-2 win over Orlando City. Daniel Gazdag and Michael Urie added a goal each, making a winner of Bradley Carnell in his first match as the team's head coach. The Union's home opener is Saturday against MC Cincinnati, and the match at Subaru Park will begin at 7.30. In Clearwater, the Phillies play a grapefruit league game at home today against the Pirates.

Weston Wilson suffered a grade two oblique sprain on Friday, a six week injury that changes the complexion of the outfield arrangement. His spring training is over aside from rehab and he'll restart his ramp up for the regular season in early April. The first pitch today is scheduled for 105 and the Eagles are still the Super Bowl champions.

And that's what I have for you this morning. Thanks, Kath. So we're ready to set up, tee this up, a new week. And we have a new Word of the Week prize to entice you to listen to the program. This is really cool, especially if you're an ice cream fan. We have a two-hour ice cream making studio session at Hangry Bear.

Angry Bear Creamery for 12 people, by the way. Yeah, and they can handle it. The facility is really big over there. It's wonderful. It's in Kennett Square, by the way. So we will give you that for the Word of the Week prize, so make sure you stay tuned all week long. Kathy had mentioned the Union Home Opener. We're going to be giving away tickets for that, courtesy of the Lesson Learned question, and we have a bunch of other things.

in our roster of stuff to give away. So you'll have to stick with us and find out what all that is. We do have a guest on the program today. She's the star of the show Night Court, and it's Melissa Rock who's going to be on the program. I think that's how you pronounce her name. R-A-U-C-H.

and she is going to pop in around a little after 9 o'clock this morning. We'll chat with her, see what's going on in her world. And all things are leading to Cardboard Classic on Friday, the live broadcast Montage Mountain. We're getting all set to head to Scranton, PA for the event, and lots of prizes. We have everything set in place as far as the sleds go for the best design and for the fastest sled and the best Tito's handmade vodka and our favorite...

courtesy of Pro Team Collision. So all you have to do is come out and be a part of the whole thing. It's such a great time, and people always ask, Preston, to that point, if you want to just come and watch the Cardboard Classic, you're more than welcome to. Oh, and it's free, by the way. Yeah, free, yeah. It's 100% free. Weather for Cardboard Classic. Nick pulled this up for Scranton. Clouds in the morning, afternoon sun, high 37. Okay.

Perfect. That's just about right. The day before, there is a slight chance, like 50-50 shot, some rain and high 50. It's going to be warm leading up to that. So we'll see what that means for the conditions. But we'll take that day, man, for sure. We've had it on the extreme ends. Yeah. Either crazy, insanely stupid cold or...

or warm and just barely able to do it because of the lack of snow. We've had a literal whiteout. I remember that one year we actually could not see the sleds coming down the hill. Yeah, Marissa posted a video on Instagram over the weekend, Steve, of that very year. It was 2018, the year that you got stuck up there and took forever to get back. I had forgotten how bad those conditions were. Yeah.

I mean, it was insane. Nick, I remember at present, we were standing side by side and we're looking and like, are they down yet? Are they coming down? And it was like, it might have been like halfway through the event. Then it started, the front started coming. We're like, what's going on? Is this as bad as it seems? And then, of course, man, we had, we had babies born that day. We had car accidents. We had, we had, there were all kinds of weird things that happened on that one. Yeah.

It was like straight out of a horror show because I left. I got on to, what was it, like 940 or whatever, and then I tried to get on to the Turnpike, and they were like, no, you got to go on 80. And next thing I know, I'm at the entrance of Split Rock Resort. I'm like, how did I end up there?

back here. I was following you. Yeah. I'm like, oh my God, Casey, can we get back? Are we going to be safe? And one of our interns ended up in almost like a misery type situation where they got taken in by a local and then they realized, I need to get out of here. That's right. Oh my God,

Yes. Yeah. Well, there needs to be a documentary made about that entire thing. Seriously. That was crazy. Yeah, that was a crazy year. So, all right. Well, we'll see what this year yields. And it's all up for you to be a part of it. So, please, come on out. All the information is available at PrestonAndSteve.com. I want to note that we have daybreak, even as we were doing the news this morning. So, the days are getting a tad bit longer. And that's always good.

a little motivating factor to get up and get moving when we actually have daylight before us in the morning. It makes you feel so much better. Yeah. All right, let's take a quick break. We'll come back in a second. We do have a Stupid Question Entertainment Report, SAG Awards, we'll last night run down some of that stuff and more. Stay with us. We'll be back in just a moment. Preston and Steve's Cardboard Classic is finally here this Friday at Montage Mountain.

Join us for all the cardboard shenanigans you've been come to known as. Best Design scores a grand, plus $500 for the fastest, and another $500 from Protein Collision for Preston and Steve's favorite fail. The Best Tito's Handmade Vodka Slag will score $1,000.

As soon as the classic ends, Mountain Fest and montage begins with a free concert from the M-80s at the world's largest 80s party. Then on Saturday, catch Tonic and Better Than Ezra. Saturday tickets are on sale now. Head to WMMR.com for all the info.

Hi, I'm Steven Singer. Yep, that's me, the I Hate Steven Singer guy. Why do other jewelers hate me? I'm a nice guy. Because other jewelers just want to throw up when you ask, can I trade in my old diamond studs? Why? I guess it's because they're in the business of selling. I'm in the love business.

I love to see my friends come back and trade in their old diamond studs. It's true. You can start with any size and upgrade them for a bigger pair anytime you want. Get exactly what you paid. Not only do other jewelers not want you to trade in your diamond studs, but even if they do, they don't give you back what you paid.

One place, one price. Here is the stupid question. And we're going to give away a four-packet ticket for the Atlantic City Boat Show. And this is February 26th through March 2nd. The question that I will ask you, and by the way, it's going to be the Atlantic City Convention Center. The question I'm going to pose to you one more time. We have a few more for Black History Month. And here is the one I have now.

Who, what actor played Keith in La La Land? Uh-huh. Actor slash musician. Yes. 215263 WNMR. Let's see if you know the answer to that. Who played Keith in the movie La La Land? 215263 WNMR. Got a few birthdays to mention while we wait for your call. Today being the 24th day of February, we will start with Barry Bostwick.

who turns 80 years old today. We were supposed to interview him recently, right? Yeah. Kind of blew us off. Forgot what happened there. Did we get a blow off on that? Nah. Maybe just cross lines. In fact, he was coming to town to talk about this. Rocky Horror? Yeah, I think it was one of those, an evening with. I played Brad in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but also Spin City, What I Like About You, a few other things. He celebrates his 80th birthday today. Dude looks good, man. He does look good for 80, yeah.

We also have actor Dominic, and I'm going to mess up his name, Steve, Chianese, Johnny Ola from Godfather 2. God, he's great. Played Junior on The Sopranos as well. That's how you pronounce it. Is it Chianese? Chianese, yeah. He's a trained opera singer.

Wow, I had no idea, really. I believe up until recently, maybe still, he was touring and singing. Dude, he's 94 years old. Johnny Ola. Man, oh man. I saw him get killed in a movie. No, that wasn't real. Oh. Yeah, so he turns 94 and still performing. Great, man. Good for him. He wins. Happy birthday to you.

Daniel Kaluuya. Great. Wonderful in Get Out, obviously, and in Black Panther. Yeah, terrific. He's also the lead in Nope, is he not? Yep. I don't remember. I saw Nope one time, Izzy. Yep. Nope. Nope. Nope. So he turns...

How old is he today? 36 years old. Are those two titles related, Get Out and Nope? Like, Get Out. Nope. So the Get Out has to do with the old Eddie Murphy bit. Right, yeah, yeah. About...

being in a haunted house. It was a playoff of Amityville Horror. Get out. Okay. Sorry I can't see. So it's a good question, but just nope is a good one answer. Yeah. I ain't doing it. That was a strange movie. It is. And I'm liking it. I just watched a

the majority of it again, it's one of those ones where I'm like, okay, maybe I'm warming to it even more now. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So we also have celebrating a birthday today, Edward James, almost the great, uh, Miami vice case. He's playing the theme from, and Preston at some point you'll get around to it. I'm sure. But he played, uh, a Dama on Battlestar Galactica and he was terrific. Yeah. I hear it's amazing. Heard it from many, many people. Definitely. I see that. Of course, uh, stand by me. Yeah. Uh,

Stand and Deliver. Stand by me and Deliver. And then there was another one that I always threw in the mix there. Don't stand near me. Title wise, but Happy Birthday to Edward James Olmos. Are you talking about the one with Morgan Freeman? That's Stand by Me. That's Lean on Me. Stand by Me is the Stephen King adaptation. And who's in Get Away From Me? Those are the three. Actress Deborah Jo Ruffin.

Has her birthday, the mom in that 70s show. We talked to her. Yeah. She was great. She was also in WandaVision. Yeah. So she turns 74 years old today. We should just have this on whenever we do birthdays. Eventually people are going to make it into the MCU. It's also Billy Zane's birthday today. I love Billy Zane. Yeah. Titanic. Obviously he's the foe in Titanic. He also plays a great dad.

demon slash devil in Bordello of, it's not Bordello of Blood, it's the other Tales from the Crypt movie. Okay. Where they hold him hostage in a house and he is comically, horrifically hilarious. Okay.

He's also, he's great in Tombstone, too, as the actor. He's wonderful. Zoolander. Yeah, he's 59 today. Back to the Future, too. Remember, he doesn't speak in the movie. No, that's right. And then we have Rupert Holmes celebrating a birthday today. I wonder if there will be a workforce block today. If Pierre doesn't at least play this. Yep.

And he mainly hates the phrase that he says, it was my own lovely lady. He refers to her as her lady. It was such an epiphany for us because he was, Pierre, one of his lengthy descriptions about how music is unifying and so on and so forth. And this song came up and he became like a monster. Yes. Like a Jekyll and Hyde. It absolutely infuriates him. So happy 78th birthday to Rupert Holmes.

Two more quick birthdays. Director Todd Field, who's had a string of films, including In the Bedroom. Great movie. Wow. Powerful movie. He is 61 today. And the last birthday, Floyd Mayweather Jr., one of the greatest boxers of all time. Yeah, how old is he now? He's 48 years old, by the way. All right, let's see if we can get an answer to the stupid question this morning. Who played Keith in...

In the movie La La Land 215263 WMMR, we have to go to Keith, who's on the line. Hey, Keith, good morning. Hey, good morning. How are you guys doing? Great, buddy. All right, who played you in La La Land? I'm going to go with John Legend. John Legend, yeah. Correct. Hang on a second.

Keith, we're going to give you a four-pack of tickets to the Atlantic City Boat Show. Boaters, anglers, water lovers, get ready. The Discovery Boating Atlantic City Boat Show, in partnership with Progressive Insurance, is back at the Atlantic City Convention Center February 26th through the 2nd. And it's Mid-Atlantic's biggest boat sale with hundreds of boats and exhibitors all under one roof. You can grab your tickets at acboatshow.com. Set sail for the best deals of the year only at the Atlantic City Boat Show.

So we'll start with the box office. Captain America Brave New World took the top spot. And that's once again with a haul of $28.2 million. That's a drop of 68% from the opening weekend. In second place, Stephen King's adaptation The Monkey, which took in $14.2 million in its debut weekend. Then you had Paddington in Peru in third place. Rounding out the top five, we've got

Dogman in fourth. And then Nezatu in fifth place with $3 million. So it's the end of another Bennifer era, at least in the eyes of the law.

Although Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in last August, the court had still considered them married until now. And the L.A. County Superior Court has officially finalized their divorce. It came through on February 21st. And it restores the power couple's single status. Due to California law, the dissolution couldn't take effect until six months after the filing, despite the two reaching a settlement in January.

The court documents also reveal that Jennifer has dropped Affleck as her legal name. Oh, no. I didn't know she had taken that. No, neither did I. And neither will pay the other spousal support. I mean, come on. Who needs the money? Yeah, exactly. So they're officially, they're done. Now they can start dating again and reconcile. Go down that path one more time. Go for it again. Go for it again. Seems to work for you guys.

Married actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, residents of the Palisades Park area of California that was hit by the L.A. wildfires.

They've pledged a million dollars to the cause. Though the couple's home still stands, the pair recognizes that many in the area have lost everything. And in an Instagram post, as a couple, they wrote, Now, we must all move forward to what is next for our city, communities, and neighbors. We're donating a million dollars between the following organizations to help support those in need.

And those who aided those organizations include the Motion Picture Television Fund, the Los Angeles Fire Foundation, SAG-AFTRA Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, and the American Red Cross and Music Cares as well. I'll be curious to see how fast they can reclaim this disaster area because, you know, the aerial footage, you think you're looking at Hiroshima. Yeah.

And listen, dude, they better make some improvements because it'll just catch on fire. Yeah, you're just looking at something that's destined to repeat if they don't do something differently. Yep. So as I mentioned at the top, SAG Awards took place this weekend. The ceremony streamed live on Netflix. It was hosted by Kristen Bell and was filled with some big moments, big awards, and even a few surprises. I'll give you some of the highlights as opposed to going through every single category for the movie awards.

Conclave walked away with the award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. It's a good movie. And the drama stars Ray Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Sergio Castelletto, Isabella Rossellini as well. Meanwhile, Timothee Chalamet won outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role for his work in A Complete Unknown. And Demi Moore kept her

winning streak live this award season. Grabbing the award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in The Substance. So we have a couple of clips to play. This is one with Timothee Chalamet when he received his award. I'm as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis

Marlon Brando and Viola Davis, as I am by Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps. And I want to be up there. So I'm deeply grateful to that. This doesn't signify that, but it's a little more fuel. It's a little more ammo to keep going. Thank you so much. He wants to be an athlete? Well, he left out Michael McDonald, which I thought was kind of weird. Oh, okay. And then Demi Moore had a speech, and this is her accepting her award. You know, there's this idea that...

What we believe is so much more powerful than what we think. And the saying that, you know, I'll believe it when I see it. But the reality is when I believe it, I will see it. And I am so grateful for this. Thank you. By the way, so I was telling Steve when I watched the movie, Rochelle was away for the weekend. And I had been leading up to...

When I was going to watch it, I thought about... I wanted us to watch it together because you said it was a good movie, Steve. Yeah. We just didn't have any time. Right. And so I ended up watching it alone. I was glad I watched that while I was alone. Really? What did you think would have freaked you out the most? The body horror? Yeah, it was weird. Yeah. I mean, it's really good, but it's just...

weird it wouldn't have been her taste not everybody's cup of tea no it's it's a powerful movie but it is bizarre i don't think demi more looks like demi more anymore no i was kind of bothered by i was like kept staring at her i was like is that her huh well one thing they did say kathy is that they are all osempic-ing out like crazy so they said they they had uh one of the i think it was variety one of them had an article where everyone looked

borderline gaunt. Isn't that a part of the point of the movie? The substance is that her look is different and her look has changed over the years. Preston, I think you'll agree with this. The substance for me was one of the most amazing

statements of that fact. Like, be happy with who you are. Oh, yeah. Because it can only lead to misery if you don't learn to embrace yourself. And here they are all tripping on Ozempic. Yeah, but it also covers the double standard of aging and discrimination in that industry. A bunch of older...

businessmen are dictating who needs to be... And dude, Dennis Quaid is great. He's excellent. He plays so against his type in this movie. It's messed up. We also have a clip from Zoe Saldana,

Which, by the way, Casey, yeah, that's how you... She has the Enya on her name. And I've always said Zoe Saldana, but it's Saldana. We've been living a lie. And this is her accepting for Outstanding Performance by Female Actor in a Supporting Role Award for her performance as Rita Mora Castro in Amelia Perez. I got my first SAG card in 1998.

And I didn't even know what SAG was. And I am grateful that my mother and my father and my sisters looked it up and helped me educate myself on what it means to be a part of a union that...

So she won, and on the TV side of things, Shogun won the award for best, for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series.

Only Murders in the Building won award for outstanding performance by an ensemble cast in comedy series as well. So a lot of the same groups or people are winning leading up to Oscars, which is next weekend, right? I believe so. This weekend. It's this weekend, yeah. Oh my gosh. What was I going to say? Forget it. Okay. Okay.

A couple of the highlights. Gene Smart. It opened with Gene Smart as Deborah Vance from Hacks getting ready to host the awards. But it turned out she'd been fired from hosting because she hasn't paid her SAG dues. And so Kristen Bell came in and took over. And she did a parody of Do You Want to Build a Snowman? She sang a Do You Want to Be an Actor? And showed a bunch of clips.

of actors when they were really, really young and starting out. So that was kind of fun. She also reunited with Ted Danson and William Jackson Harper from The Good Place and a bunch of other fun events took place.

took place. Oh, I remember. They did a Devil's Wear Prada reunion. Oh, really? With Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. No kidding. Yeah. Well, that's pretty cool. And they all look great. Nice. So SAG Awards are in the books. Oscars on the way. So Betty White is getting a stamp of approval, quite literally. The U.S. Post Office

is honoring the beloved first lady of television with her very own forever stamp. I've always wanted to lick Betty White. Which is set to debut March 27th. When did they stop doing the licking and switch to adhesive? That's a good question. I have no idea. A long time, I think. So the stamp design features White, of course, who passed away in 2021, just shy of her 100th birthday, in a purple polka-dotted blouse.

and will celebrate her warmth, wit, and iconic 75-year career. The unveiling will take place at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, where she was a trustee and a volunteer as well.

Giselle Bunchen has been focusing on her new man and a baby, and it looks like her ex Tom Brady is moving on too, but not into unfamiliar territory. Page Six is reporting that Brady and Russian model Irina Shake have rekindled things between them. She's stunning. I didn't realize how stunning Irina Shake is, and then I was watching footage of her, I guess it was on Craig Ferguson's old talk show. I

I mean, holy mother of God. And she's Bradley Cooper's? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ex, and they have a kid together, right? And yes, and Preston, she has this Russian sort of accent that's exactly what, if you're going to design a sultry woman, this is what you come up with. They were previously linked for several months in 2023, going their separate ways in October of that year, but apparently things are coming back around. Here's the clip, Preston, of her from, yeah.

And she has a skirt that slid up well above her abdomen. Yeah, there we go. She's gorgeous. Most definitely gorgeous.

So what else we have here for you? Oh, this is fun. Lindsay Lohan's dad, Michael Lohan, is in trouble with the law again. What a champ. TMZ reported yesterday that Michael was arrested Saturday on a felony assault charge, which is called continuous violence against the family. And according to the Harris County, Texas Sheriff's Office,

Loewen's estranged wife, Kate Major, was getting a mammogram when she reported pain and discomfort, alleging that was caused by Michael dumping her out of a chair several days earlier. Once a female deputy verified the bruising, Loewen, who was outside the doctor's office, was arrested without incident and is currently being held on a $30,000 bond. So he's been abusive to her for years. They're divorced, right? Yeah. Yeah, I believe so.

It's just, man, this guy. You know all you need to know? He was, what, 10 years ago? He was still wearing one of those mesh shirts. The mesh shirts, I remember, yeah. That's all you need to know. That's all I think about whenever I hear his name. I think of that mesh shirt. The mesh shirts. Yeah, he came in here. It was in here, right? It was in here. Yeah, wearing a mesh shirt.

Completely sheer C-shirt. Unless you're in right-side Fred. Who was that girl he was with, remember? I don't know. Was it Kate Major? Maybe it was her. Was it Kate Major? When they came in? Yeah. Might have been her, yeah. She was also a little nut job. I mean, yeah. The mesh shirt. If you're on stage performing, something like that. Maybe. Maybe. And even then. Yeah.

Andrew Garfield has apparently been taken off the market. The actor is dating Oscar-nominated actress Monica Barbaro. Oh. And a source spilled to people that they've been really low-key and have been spending time together quietly. I love her. I didn't know her really that well until A Complete Unknown. And she plays Joan Baez in the movie, and she is so freaking good. Yeah, she's nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the work in that film.

Garfield and Barbaro were photographed together at W Magazine's annual best performances party last month in L.A. It'd be perfect if he really loved lasagna. Wouldn't it be? Garfield, yes. And they were also spotted together in February in London at a performance of Richard III in the West End. I heard, Steve, that he really hates Mondays. Ah, there you go. We're getting there.

Sony has pushed Tom Holland's fourth Spider-Man movie back one week, and it's now set to hit theaters on July 31st of 2026 instead of the 24th. What's it called? Guess what? You can go home. Hmm.

I don't know, Nick. The movie gives someone breathing room between Holland's two major releases as Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which also stars Holland, is set for July 17th. So, I mean, these are going to be back-to-back releases. It's going to be a good year for him. The shift also impacts IMAX scheduling since The Odyssey was shot with IMAX cameras and is expected to dominate premium screens for at least two weeks.

The Odyssey now has two weeks of screen time without a wide release that would contend for IMAX real estate, making it a smoother rollout than the Oppenheimer versus Mission Impossible situation in 2023 when Nolan's nuclear drama pushed out Tom Cruise's

Action, epic, out of the IMAX theaters about a week later. So they have to consider what these screens are going to be. Yeah, to juggle these theaters, especially in the IMAX case. Nolan apparently for this Odyssey movie is employing as many, and this is the epic of epics, practical effects, as many practical effects as opposed to CGI as he can. Okay.

So, a couple of really geeky things here for you. George R.R. Martin has dropped his biggest hint yet that

an Elden Ring movie could be in the works, but don't expect him to be too involved. He said, well, I can't say too much about it, but there is some talk about making a movie out of Elden Ring. I don't know what Elden Ring is. I don't either. I just, you know, just by the sound of it, it sounds like Lord of the Rings. It does, yeah. It sounds like Elvis Ring. Yeah. It's pretty cool. So...

He said from software's chief of Elden Ring's co-creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has also expressed being open to a movie adaptation saying, I don't see any reason to deny another interpretation or adaptation of Elden Ring. Nick is looking this up now. He wrote it. It's a game. Oh, that's what I'm familiar with. A role-playing game written by George R.R. Martin and published on PlayStation and all the platforms and stuff.

Okay. So there's potential for a movie, another video game movie. So what's the status of that book of the Game of Thrones series that he was supposed to complete? Was it ever completed? No, not that I know of. And that has to be like eight, nine years ago, right? If it has been, then I totally missed out on that. Yeah. Yeah.

So Martin, on the other hand, is tied up with his highly anticipated book, The Winds of Winter. There you go, Steve, saying I'm a few years behind with my latest book. A few years? So that also limits the amount of things that I can do. Put down the bugles and start writing. You're 78, man. Yeah. Yep.

Max, here's another. This is why I have these stories back to back. But Max is taking the Lord of the Rings fans back to Middle Earth this week. The Lord of the Rings, the war or, and I forgot how you pronounce this thing. The war of the warim. Rorim.

Rojo, whatever. Rory McIlroy. You know what it is. You know what it is. It debuts on the streamer this Friday. With its HBO debut followed the next day at 8 p.m., the animated film is set 183 years before the events chronicled in the original trilogy of Lord of the Rings films. Not 184. Animated 183. Just 183. That's how many they went with. Rohirrim?

Yeah, that sounds about right. Yeah, I don't know. Okay. The producers of Survivor have something special in mind for fans of the reality competition series for the upcoming 50th season of the show.

They're letting the viewers in on the fun. So Jeff Probst, host and executive producer of the long-running show, announced on Saturday that the CBS competition's 50th season, which will air next February, will be guided in part by votes from viewers. They say that viewers will be able to vote to have contestants put to death. Wow.

The show is calling it In the Hands of the Fans. For the first time ever, he said our loyal fans will take control deciding key elements of the game from twists to idols to advantages. And I can't wait to see what the fans choose for our returning players.

In addition to fan voting, CBS and Fiji Airwaves are sponsoring a contest in which five groups of fans will be flown to Fiji during filming of the 50th season. I was watching Collector's Corner last night, as I'm wont to do, and they had this collector of Survivor memorabilia. You would not believe.

How much money this stuff goes for, like the original immunity idol or the torches from all the all that stuff. I mean, this was a fairly small collection valued at around three million dollars. Wow. So I have a friend who this is this is what they watch. This is their Thursday night viewing. I don't think he's ever missed an episode. I haven't watched an episode in a long time.

I would love to be on Survivor. I know. You've been talking about that for years. All right, I'm going to apply for this one. You're going to finally do it. I'm going to finally do it. Okay. Didn't you do it once? Didn't you send out an application one time? I think I did. Or was that the travel one? The running around the world as fast as you can? Yeah, the amazing race. That was me. I got all the way to the end of that. They were talking to me and my cousin. Wow. And they chose... There had never been cousins on the show. And they chose... The woman was...

Oh, God, I forget her name. I didn't realize you'd made it that far. Yeah, we made it all the way to the end. Really? Yeah. How many years ago was this? I think maybe we were still at about 100. Wow. Or like I've just come here. Man, I would love to have watched you complain on that show. A zip line?

But that's wild, Kath. Yeah. Yeah. She made it to that. You know, our video that we sent in was really good. Did your brother put it together? My brother? Yeah, because he's with the video. Oh, no, no, no, no. No, we literally just like, I mean, that long ago, I don't even, I think we had like a little like camcorder. Oh, wow. It was simple, but it was funny and they really liked it.

Alright, one last story and then we'll move on to the clips. With all the excitement surrounding the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, it's easy to forget that Legally Blonde 3 was also in development. So, what's the status of that movie? Mindy Kaling, who is co-writing the script, gave Time Magazine an update saying, I don't have any power here. She said, it's an MGM, Amazon, and Hello Sunshine thing, which is Reese Witherspoon's production company. Dan Gore, who, she said, Dan Gore and I wrote

that we really like, and we hope that it sees the light of day. As I said, I'm always low-key working on it. It's like writing fanfic, except it's the actual threequel. MGM announced that Legally Blonde 3 was on the way in 2018, and Witherspoon, who played Elle Woods in the first two films, confirmed that she is all about a third movie, so we'll see if it happens or not. All right, clips, here we go. So in 1923...

Characters face... I don't know where the hell I am. Face the early 20th century challenges such as the rise of Western expansion and the Great Depression with...

Tough circumstances comes tough people. And here, Helen Mirren explains how producer Taylor Sheridan portrayed that. Here we go. An interesting character is complex and vulnerable and afraid and mad and, you know, energetic or, you know, complex. And that's what Taylor does. He gives women exactly the complexity that he'll give a male character. Could you shut up? The new season, 1923, is streaming on Paramount+. Here's our next one.

Papa's House stars veteran actors alongside up-and-coming talent, including Tetona Jackson, or T-Tona, I'm not sure how you pronounce her name. She's upcoming. Who grew up as a theatrical figure skater.

And here she explains how it influenced her within the acting world. You know, it's a lot of discipline, getting up every morning, 4.30 in the morning, skating at 5.30, changing, going to school, doing it again after school. So I think it's translated into my acting and, you know, the work ethic that I have as an actress, I think I've been able to get from growing up as a skater. Shut the f*** up.

up, huh? A new episode of Papa's House airs tonight. You'll find that on CBS. And that is the camera report for today. This Monday morning, the 24th day of February, friend. We will take a quick break. We'll come back in a moment. We have a beautiful day on tap for today. Mid-50s and partly cloudy skies. That is a wonderful thing. And we have the looming cardboard classic to get ready for as well. We'll be back in just a second. Hang out. ...

All right, thank you very much, Kathy. All right, step up, people, and get ready to receive. I've got all the information in and around our area. It's time for the CDP. No! Yes. Scoobly wow. Wow, he's the meat behind the beat with the freshly bed-egg'd feet.

Pet egg. Oh, you have? Have you pet egged recently? Oh, I haven't heard about it. That's a flashback. I haven't in a long time. No. You know what's wild is I went through a phase in my life, this has nothing to do with the city beat, where I had very rough feet for a long time and I had to use this product called the

Essentially, it's a cheese grater for your feet. But it worked great, right? It worked wonderful. But I have wonderful soft feet. Wow. I don't know what happened in my life. And it's not like I'm less active or anything like that. But my feet have smoothed out. It's a wonderful thing. Well, maybe the pet egg set it in motion and you're on a good trajectory now. I'll never return to my modeling days. My nails have just gone.

gone completely out of whack and there's nothing I can do about that. So, but thank you for bringing that. Do you remember that also we took the shavings and made a...

You made someone eat it. As long as we're walking down memory lane, can we play the song? Foot Juice? You know, why not? If Casey can find it. We've lost some things over the years, but Casey did a song. It might be my all-time favorite Casey song. Casey, you've had many brilliant moments over the years, but this one I think is my favorite. I agree with you. And it was for Elton John and Billy Joel's hit. Yes.

And we made someone, we had to put. We're going to have to have Marissa find it because we don't have it anywhere. Okay. We put my foot shavings in some liquid and they had to, I mean, like, that's my own, I couldn't do that. That's borderline cannibalism and they did it, no problem. No problem. We put it in peach schnapps.

Is that what we did? Yeah, I remember it. Because I just remember it going in there. And it basically turned the schnapps into like a pudding. It was so gnarly looking. And we've done some gross things on the show. I mean, I think I literally drank Ipecac.

And that made me more sick than the surstroming. All of it. But the contestants were like, yeah, we'll do it. There's a bar, it might be in Alaska, where you can order a cocktail. Oh, right. And they have these petrified toes. The frozen toes. People that have had frostbite and had them amputated. And you can actually put it in your glass and drink it.

That seems less disgusting than what we did with foot juice. Because you're not eating the toe. No. You were eating bits of your feet. I'm sorry, Casey. The sour toe cocktail is the name of it. With a whiskey garnish with a human toe. I was driving my son and his friend down the shore this summer and I think I played for them foot juice.

And then I also told him about, we had a hair pie contest. That was for a front row Genesis ticket. Cubic hair. Yeah. And my son is like, bro, bro.

Why don't you just give them the tickets? You don't understand radio, do you? For Billy Joel and Elton John, for the foot juice tickets, were they great seats or anything? They were seats. They were seats. I don't think it was standing or lying. It's funny about your son bringing that up. There are things that our kids, they'll never know what we've done, why we did it.

And it's like, you know, yeah, we did that. Marissa found it. Okay. She's in the process of sending it over. So when it comes over, I will. Well, I can't go into anything else. No, we might as well just wait. And then come back to that because it's contextually, it will just not mix whatsoever. The pubes, the pubes pizza, there was pizza, right? Yeah. And that was for...

That was for Genesis. For Genesis. Front row. Right. The six jars of farts for mixed martial arts never actually happened. No. The contest was set up, but the mixed martial arts prize collapsed. The event was canceled. Yeah. All right. So the tickets we gave away for that didn't work. They just sniffed jars of farts for nothing. All right. Here's foot juice. You guys ready? Yeah. And then we will move on to the city beat. To the city beat. Here we go. Here we go.

This is my favorite part right here by far.

This is Dixie Girl. We've got to chase President's feet so that some listener can eat for Elton and Billy Joe. Perfection. Perfection.

They're drinking some juice. Foot juice. Kick off your stinky shoes. All right, and then it goes. Yeah. I don't know. Does it end in a special way? Yeah, I mean, there's an ending. Okay. In your tummy it goes. Juice. Foot juice. Everybody drink. Everybody drink. Everybody drink. Everybody drink. Everybody drink. Everybody drink.

everybody foot juice and that is the legend of the foot juice by the way number of texts coming in where's kathy's feet video yeah oh you want to give the update because unbeknownst to us she's been working with christopher nolan on this production so it's an imax release yeah i mean it apparently is far more elaborate than even we were in order to get

100,000 followers on Instagram, Kathy. I said I'd do feed stuff. Promised feed stuff videos. Is that going to happen? Yeah, we have it. We have the video. I'll get with Marissa. We'll talk about it. We'll figure it out. Oh, yeah. We need to make a big announcement, but sooner than later. A big announcement. Do

Do you know there's a foot sled? Yeah. Oh, your foot? Yes. No, I did not know that. So let's do a premiere on the show with a red carpet at Cardboard Classic? We could do it at the Cardboard Classic. Yeah, because it's digital. It'll live on our social media pages and on the website. So we will debut that on Friday in conjunction with the foot sled at the Cardboard Classic. We'll have Kathy's foot video. Yes.

All right. City beat? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So in the ongoing battle from between beloved Pennsylvania convenience store Sheetz.

is on the offensive in the eastern part of the state now. This is an article Steve sent me. And it's wild because it's like right in my backyard. I was thinking the same thing, Preston. Does this raise any sort of conflict with you? How are you processing? So they want to put a sheet in Limerick

But the thing it says here, it's at the crossroads of Ridge Pike and Swamp Pike.

There is a huge Wawa right there. Yeah. Already. So I don't know how this is even going to, I don't know why they would do that. I don't know. I mean, there's like two gas stations that go across the street from each other. Like, they do it all the time. They might be being intentionally provocative in doing this. Yeah. I would say this, though. I've worked it out in my mind. Wawa is my, you know, ride or die. I'm in Wawa all the frigging time. Yeah.

And I've been to Sheetz before. They're not bad, but they're not wah-wah. But it's not. I would prefer wah-wah every single time. So Nick Ruffner, who's the public affairs manager for Sheetz, said Sheetz can confirm it is interested in building a store at the intersection of Ridge Pike and Swamp Pike, but it's too early in the process to provide further details. The company presented its plans to Limerick's Board of Supervisors on the 18th, but multiple legislators were unable to attend. So a further meeting is going to be held coming up on March 4th.

Sheets plan is compliant with local zoning and street laws and no other permitting is needed from the township. Daniel Carr, the township manager of Limerick said it's located right in the middle of Limerick and there's a wawa right across the street. So obviously the zoning in that area is anticipated for these types of uses. Some township residents are concerned that Sheets plan will generate too much traffic in the area. I don't know, but there's already plenty of traffic around there anyway, but...

Wawa did not respond to a request for comment. Would this be the first time that both Wawa and Sheets were in that close of proximity? That I don't know. That's a good question. That would be the furthest east from...

That I would see a web of sheets, right? As far as I know. Yeah. I think that is probably the furthest east that you will find a sheets. If you keep going on 422, like where 422 stops being an expressway, there are some sheets there. Like you get to like Douglasville. Oh, really? But you're right. I mean, this is further in Limerick. It's still the expressway there. So, yeah, but it's not, it doesn't take that long to keep going on 422 and encountering a sheets.

All right. I never make it quite out that way. And Steve, to your question, like right before you get to that sheet? Yeah. A wah-wah. It's where 422 splits. All right. And in the middle of 422 there is a wah-wah. So you've got wah-wah, obviously...

You have Royal Farms is kind of dug in, too. They're not bad either. But I mean, of them all, if you're looking for specific things. And what is the other? Is it Turkey Hill? Yeah, there's. Yeah, I don't see too many of those. But yeah, they're around. And they're not as large. No, they're not. It's like the Royal Farms are big. They're big. They have like, I don't know, you know, 30 gas pumps or however many. Royalty shops there. That's why. Oh.

And so, you know, similar thing with Sheetz and Wawa in scope and size. So, yeah, I wonder how that'll play. It's interesting, though, I mean, because Wawa's expansion has...

Far, you know... Gone out-paced sheets, as far as I can tell. I don't know, but it'll cause a little bit of a hubbub in the area. A kerfuffle? Maybe. I mean, what are they... They got the walking tacos, right? Is that what they're... And the boogie-woogie flute. They got that, too? Yeah, they... Is that their big thing? The sheets? That was, like, the one thing that I knew that they had that Wawa did. Yeah, okay. Yeah. So...

Like in a bag? Yeah, like a bag of Doritos or a bag of Fritos or something like that. Okay. I've only been to like maybe like... Shreds? No, no, no. Like twice to a Sheetz. Okay. I think I got a burger there one time and it actually wasn't too bad. You know, actually when you go out to the Lancaster outlets, like where Dutch Wonderland is, there's a Sheetz right there. I was in like Mechanics Burger or something like that.

I didn't like it. I went and I didn't like it. Yeah, the one that I would go to was mainly in Hershey. And so anytime we were out there, it was just convenient for us to hit on the way back and get gas, maybe grab some food or something. Hang on a second. I have Matt works for construction and he has helped build Sheetz, Wawa and Royal Farms in the area. Wow. Hi, Matt. Good morning. Good morning.

Hey, guys, sorry to bother you at work. It's all right, man. What do you want to tell us, buddy? So, pretty much it's, in my opinion, it's all Wawa's fault because there used to be agreements between them all. Like, Wawa wouldn't go south so rural farms wouldn't come up north. Wawa wouldn't go west so sheeps wouldn't come east. But,

But Wawa is building everywhere. So that's why you see more rural farms around here now. And that's why sheep is starting to come on in, too. Oh, there was a there was a break in a in an agreement. So what you're saying, Matt, is this is very similar to Ukraine joining NATO. Yeah.

That's for sure. You and I are on the same level. All right, all right. Same impact. Absolutely. Lives will be lost. Yeah. All right, thank you. Appreciate it, man. Hang on, another quick call, and then we're going to move on to something else. Vanessa is on. Hi, Vanessa, good morning. Good morning. Hey, what's up, Vanessa?

Out in Reading, Pennsylvania, so not much farther down 422 than what you guys are talking about, there are Sheetz and Wawa's that are right next to each other. Really? So they can exist harmoniously, you're saying? They do. People out here, I mean, kind of choose what they like and go with it because they're popping up everywhere. So if you're around them, what do you see as the big delineation between Sheetz and Wawa?

I think kind of where you grew up. That's it? Yeah. And the coffee. People go to where they want their coffee. Hey, by the way, do sheets have baristas like Wawa does?

They have, like, you can make your own anything that you want. So you can get all of the drinks that you can get at Wawa and everything at Sheetz, too. But they don't make it for you. They don't make, like, lattes. Yeah, they have, like, MTOs. So the same thing, Wawa kind of took over the Sheetz model from Western Pennsylvania, like where you order what you want on a screen. Right. Sheetz did that before Wawa did. And so you can order your drinks the same way you can at Wawa.

Okay. All right. Interesting. Thank you. Appreciate that. I was just curious because they have...

All those different frozen beverages and hot beverages that you can order. I know that Sheetz offers on-premises MRIs. Do they really? Which I think is a bold thing. Yeah, yeah. I think ultimately what it boils down to for me is whether I'm making a right into a parking lot or making a left into a parking lot. Yeah, that's part of it. I can see that. That's definitely a big part for me too. I'm going to go to Kate because she was at the zoning meeting. Then we'll move on. Hi, Kate. Good morning. Good morning.

How you doing, guys? Great. Kate, you were at this zoning meeting in Limerick? Yeah. Well, it's actually just outside Phoenixville. Okay. In Valley Forge. What were you doing there? Saying yes to sheets. Oh! You were voting yes for sheets. Okay. And so you heard about... How did you find out about this meeting that it was happening? Well, they put it forward because they both wanted to take over opposite corners. Both lots are...

Empty at the moment, no gas station, and just an old building they want to knock down. And they both submitted plans, and I'm pretty sure both are going to be approved off of that meeting. Wait, so they both...

Yeah, Wawa and Sheetz both submitted a plan on opposite corners, and I think they're both going to get approved. So are you saying that there is a Wawa there already to what Preston says? No, there's nothing there. There's an old empty gas station, and on the other side of the road...

it's Route 23 in Valley Forge. The other side of the road is... So you're talking Valley Forge, and we're talking Limerick. We're talking two different locations. Yeah. But there's another plan east for Sheetz outside of Phoenix. Even further east? Yeah, we weren't talking about that. Oh, wow. I didn't realize that was happening. So where is this, Kate? It's right on Route 23, just outside of Phoenixville, heading towards Valley Forge. Route 23? You're not from around here, are you? No.

I'm a New Jersey. Rout gave it away. Gave it away. Okay, interesting. Mispronounced it all. So you're saying there's going to be a Wawa and Sheetz, at least hypothetically, right by each other in Valley Forge? Yes, I'll hit Sheetz on the way to work and Wawa on the way home. So 23 and what?

I think it's White House or White Horse Road. White Horse Road, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. And so, like, Caddy Corner, yeah, did that one gas station on that corner close? Yeah, the one gas station closed and is now an empty lot. And on the other side, there's an office building that has nothing in it. There's that Ford dealership on that corner as well. Yes, a little further up. Oh.

Okay. Interesting. So, Katie, the next time you go to a zoning meeting, do the show a favor and at some point yell out, you were in that helicopter. They'll love it. Oh, I'll do it. All right. Kate, thank you. Appreciate it. You got it. Thank you, guys. All right. Well, sounds like, according to Kate there, more than just in Limerick. Yes. We had no idea. The area. And may we point out, last year's Cardboard Classic Best Design Sled?

Thank you very much. And it was amazing. I hope those guys are back in it again this year. Right up to the head muckety-muck of Wawa were made aware of this. Yeah, Chris Geisens is aware of this.

of the Wawa sled. And by the way, thank you to Sammy Vile who did Johnny Five last year at the Cardboard Classic. He, in his song Instacarborough Fair that he wrote, references the Wawa sled. He does, yeah. And did a great job. If you haven't seen that video yet, you have to see it. You can check our Instagram and other socials. It was so well done. All right, let's see what else we got.

So now that the Pennsylvania Turnpike has had open road tolling for more than a month, drivers may be noticing that their bills are going to look a little different. Highway officials want them to know the changes are legit, especially in light of the unpaid toll scam texts that continue to circulate. I've gotten a couple of them. Yeah, yeah. You guys have.

If customers have driven on the Turnpike east of Redding or on the northeast extension, where the whole open road tolling took effect in January, they're going to see more charges on their statement. According to Marissa Orbanek, who's the press secretary for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, there are more smaller transactions that you will see.

And that's because all easy pass and toll by plate customers are now charged electronically every time they drive underneath the gantries, which are the big metal beams above the roadway. Instead of at toll plazas, which appear less frequently at interchanges on the ORT sections, which is the over the road or open road tolling of the Turnpike, toll booths have been turned off.

and are set to start being demolished this spring. Dude, bring on the gantries. You're just driving along. Let that be the way. Yep. So about 86% of Pennsylvania Turnpike trips are made by travelers using E-ZPass. The rest get billed by toll by plate, and an invoice is mailed to the address of the person to whom the car is registered. E-ZPass, by the way, if you've ever wondered about E-ZPass and whether or not you should get it, E-ZPass users save about 50%.

compared to toll-by-plate customers. Really? Yeah. So, Orbanek said that for smaller trips, you may not see a difference. While these new charges on your toll bills are valid, the texts about unpaid tolls are still a scam. She said, we will never text you about unpaid tolls. Never. They just don't operate that way.

your billing will always be in the mail. If you're a toll-by-plate customer or on your E-ZPass account. Your billing information should come through a DM on Instagram. You should pay that in iTunes credit. So, yeah. There's going to be more charges, but they're going to be smaller charges.

for the open road tolling. But you're not going to have to stop or slow down. Well, you're going through them all the time. Every day. Yeah, I hit a number of tolls because I used the Northeast Extension.

But yeah, I'm wondering what that's going to mean, Kathy, since you're our traffic maven. Yeah. For like the mid-county tolls. Like are they going to get rid of all those toll booths? I mean... I would assume so. Yes, I think that is the ultimate goal. Yeah. But like...

I find it a little confusing where they're set up and where they're tracking you as opposed to getting on and off. Because sometimes, like out in Bucks County, there was one there that's been there for a while now. And there were still toll booths at some of the exits. But now, like a couple of them are gone. But it just confuses me as to...

going through and where you're getting off and where they track you. But yeah, I think that's the ultimate goal. And also the thing about the big county tolls is it's so wide there right now because of all of the toll booths that are in existence. When they remove those, what's the road going to look like afterwards? That's what I was wondering. Like, like there's,

Like eight lanes across, and they're going to have to narrow that down, I guess. And you can drive through. But in a basketball court. You can drive through the left-hand side if you're coming south at the normal clip, right? But all of those toll booths on the right-hand side still exist. So how many lanes are going to be there? Hey, Press, what's the rumble strip cadence? Oh, it's one, two, one, two, three. Yep. One. Wait, it goes...

And how does jive talking go again? Jive talk. So anyhow, yeah. But continue. Remember, if you see these texts coming in about tolls, it's a scam. Delete it immediately. Do not believe it. They said it's jive talking. They do not ever send texts to alert you about tolls. No.

This is the bridge, right? Wasn't this the... Yeah, it might have been the Brooklyn Bridge. The Bee Gees... The Bee Gees were in a cab or something and they were driving across the bridge...

And the potholes or the juts, whatever those spaces are and bridges, as they hit them, made the rhythms that led them to write this song. Isn't that wild? How come I can't do that? All right. Let's see what else we have in the city beats.

How about a TV show? A Philadelphia police officer becomes tangled in an investigation that hits a bit too close to home in a new trailer for Peacock's Long Bright River. And the series follows Mickey, played by Allentown native Amanda Seyfried, as a mother and cop who patrols Kensington.

While police look into a series of murders in the neighborhood, Mickey becomes increasingly worried about her missing sister, Casey, who is battling drug addiction. Spelled with a K, by the way. Oh, the wrong way. So the official trailer for Long Bright River...

based on a novel of the same name by Temple University professor Liz Moore just dropped on Thursday and all eight episodes are going to premiere on March 13th on Peacock. Listen, anything that's shot in the area, I believe it was shot completely in the area, was it not? You know what, it doesn't say that in this article, Steve. Or was it shot in Glasgow? Um, so,

So to prepare to play a Philly police officer, Seyfried engaged in an extensive research process facilitated by Moore, which included listening to Philly rappers, visiting with Kensington nonprofit organizations, and even accompanying Philadelphia police on a ride-along. It doesn't say if it was shot here. Did she listen to a radio show by any chance? Long Bright River was filmed in New York City last spring. You whores. Yeah.

But non-professional performers from the Philly area were reportedly brought in to take on minor and pivotal roles. All right. Long Bright River was directed by Nikki Toscano. And the cast also includes Nicholas Pinnock, Callum Vinson, and John Doman. And Moore is a writer and executive producer. Nick, what's that show that was filmed here? Tusk? Not Tusk. Task. Task. Yeah, the non-sequel sequel to Mayor of Easttown.

When is that going to be? This year. Okay. Yeah, Brad Inglesby is the writer and director and the showrunner for it. And so, Casey, I think he's in editing right now. But I actually reached out to him a month or so ago, and one of his best friends is –

the actor who's married to, uh, Kaley Cuoco. And I just, Tom Pelfrey. Yes. And Tom Pelfrey is one of the stars on that show along with Mark Ruffalo. Anyway, um, uh, Brad and Tom Pelfrey are going to come in studio when this show debuts. Excellent. The Task Show. Yeah. All right. So look for Long Bright River, March 13th on Peacock. We have a connection to that show, Task Preston, because we get our, uh, mulch from one of the locations. Mulch first. Yeah. Right. All right. City. City.

So, Nick sent me this, thought it might be an interesting City Beat story. And speaking of things that are filmed in the area and a little event that we have coming up at spring training, the filmmakers who have followed former Phillies prospect, a guy named Kelly Dugan.

for the last year are going to receive a perfect final shot of their documentary when Dugan spends I think this week in Clearwater. Yep. So the 34 year old will rejoin the Phillies on Monday today 15 years after they drafted him in a second round and 10 years after they released him. It's

Dugan, who has toiled for the last six seasons in independent baseball, will spend three days in minor league camp on a tryout before playing this Thursday in a major league spring training game against the Yankees. The agreement, which filmmaker Mike Tollin

had worked on, worked out with the team, gives Dugan the chance that he's been chasing for the last decade while playing baseball for $600 a week in places like Lancaster and Grand Junction, Colorado. Once a prospect, he refused to give up on his dream, even as his chances to reach the majors became slimmer each year. He just wanted a shot. So he's been slugging it out in the minors for a long, long time now. And just...

I guess kind of, you know, just making some money here and there. It has sort of a quasi-invincible vibe to it. Tolan, who produced a seven-part series in 2022 about Derek Jeter, knows a good story and thought that Dugan's

Odyssey was movie worthy, so what better way to end the film than with Dugan trying out for the team where his professional baseball journey began. I mean, more than likely, you know, he's not going to make the team. But you never know. But they're giving him this shot. And part of it is because they're making this movie about him.

So the documentary is slated to be released next year as a multi-part series, which Toland sees as a minor league baseball version of the Welsh Association football series, Welcome to Wrexham. So he's kind of basing it on that. Dugan, by the way, is older than every Phillies player except Zach Wheeler. Wow. Combined? Not combined. Not combined.

No, but yeah, so I'm sure he's got realistic expectations, but he is going to try his damnedest to get a spot on the team. Steve, I had a friend who was a really good high school ball player and ended up getting drafted by the Marlins. And I think I've talked about him on the show a few times, but at some point in your 20s, late 20s, you have to decide.

Is this my profession? Yep. You know, and am I going to try to continue to do this? And with the hopes of obviously making it into the majors. But in the interim, like you got to make a living. You know, you got to pay the bills. And if you want to start a family and all that kind of stuff. So he had to decide whether or not he wanted to stay in baseball. What was his job while he was? I mean, he was making enough in minor league baseball to support himself. But he was also in his 20s, you know, pre-family and all that kind of stuff. There's a point at which you have to go. Okay. Yeah.

And we'll be headed to Clearwater in just a couple of weeks. Yeah, man. To get ready for spring training. All right. One more story from the city beat. And we'll end with this one. For nearly 20 years, Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure ruled the skies as the world's tallest roller coaster. But its tower 456-foot frame is finally coming down.

Yeah, the record-breaking ride, which launched thrill-seekers from 0 to 128 miles an hour in just seconds, has been plagued by shutdowns and mechanical issues over the years, scheduled to be dismantled. And while demolition delays have left fans anxiously awaiting for its final drop, the park is already planning a new ride to take its place.

one that promises to set even more records. Now, I don't know what those records are because it doesn't say in this article. But until then, coaster lovers can brace themselves for The Flash Vertical Velocity. Kingda Ka, I loved it. Every time I was on it, I enjoyed it. I know that occasionally it would not get up over the zenith. And I think that never happened to me. Actually, I think that would be kind of fun if it didn't. Me too. But I guess...

The ride is supposed to be similar in design that they're putting in that place, right? I don't know, Steve. I haven't seen it. I mean, it sounds like it. It says vertical velocity, so I would imagine height is going to be a big part of it. The thing I loved about Cane and Caw, two things I loved about Cane and Caw. Number one, that takeoff immediately launching you as quickly as it does. And then the second that you crest that hill and start to come down, and you come straight down, and then it spirals. I'm like, I just...

Loved that. Every single time I went on it. For the nanosecond that you're at the Zenith and you look around. Oh, my God. What a view. What a view. Incredible. Yeah, on the clearest days, you could see Manhattan and Philadelphia. Really. Such a great ride. That's how high up you are, and you're right in the middle of New Jersey, in between, you know, equidistant from Philly to New York. Didn't we get a great shot of you, Kathy, having a... Yeah, that was that ride, yeah. It used to be... We used to have it sitting right here on Casey's...

workspace. I have a lot of epic roller coaster videos. Yes, you do. In fact, you know what? Can we relive our Dorney Park? Dorney Park Iron Menace ride as Kathy and Casey were on board. And the thing about this, so her screaming, by the way, and Casey goes, we're not even moving yet, is because you go to the top of the hill, it goes over, and if you're in the front row, it's...

Yeah. As you're starting to head down, it stops and holds you there in this suspension, and you're just, there's nothing below you. You are looking, you are absolutely parallel to the ground. Yeah. Except it's 160 some odd feet below you. Here, it sounds a little something like this. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah

In between the screams, the laughs are awesome.

Oh, my God. Ow. Wow. Ow. Do you like them, Kath? No, I hate them. Because there's joy in those laughs. And that one in particular, I mean, so you get a massive rush and, but it's what,

What is it, a minute? Yeah, it's not that long. Yeah? You don't like them. I have been on so many roller coasters with you. No. You don't like them. I, like, sweat. I'm like, why did I... Going up every coaster, I'm like, why did I do this? Why am I doing this? What is the point of this? But part of the reason what I love about you is you'll go on. You'll do it, right? I love that. You know what I mean? It's excellent that you do it. All right, but yes, the Flash Vertical Velocity is opening this spring.

So we'll see what the plans are for that. But hopefully it's another big, tall, awesome, badass roller coaster at Great Adventure. All right, we're going to close up the City Beat, folks. Hopefully you got something out of that this morning. We do have some things coming up. We're going to have actress Melissa Roche on the program. She is from Night Court.

And a few other things that we'll get into, including the Bizarre File, which is what we will have next. So stay with us. We'll be back. Poot Sweet.

Well, it turns out there's a website that does all that.

And it's always available, like right now, on your computer or phone or whatever. Wow, what a time to be alive. Before I deliver these stories, a couple of shout-outs. I missed a couple of them. I got this from, let's see, this is from Sarah Perez in Glassboro. And she said,

And she says, Sunday, February 23rd, my 29th birthday, and I would love a shout out to kick off the last year of my 20s. Oh, boy. Been a lawyer listener since 2014, and even if I miss a show live, I always have the podcast going when I'm driving or working. And The Bizarre File is my favorite segment. But I love listening and laughing to the myriad of topics you guys talk about daily. You guys rock. Love you. Rage on from Sarah. So, Sarah...

Happy birthday to you. There's a shout out for you. This one, the subject line is says, shout out and PS to Kathy. Oh.

So it says, my name is Cameron and I've been asking my husband to give me a shout out for years. But he has a short attention span. So I don't blame him for not getting around to it. With my birthday coming up February 23rd, I thought, screw it, I'm going to give myself a damn shout out. I'm a podcaster and feel free to get to this whenever. I'd like to give myself a shout out for starting a business recently.

from my parents' living room when I was 20 years old and building it up for the past 17 years to now have my own storefront and three incredible employees. I am a mom of two amazing kids.

And my husband has always been my biggest cheerleader, telling me I can do it when I sometimes think I can't. Thank you for keeping me going all those years. I worked alone building my business and podcasting you guys the whole time. Nice. Every struggle is worth it, and I'm so proud to be providing a better life for my family. Love you guys forever. Gadzooks. That's from Cameron Edwards, and she says...

By the way, I'm a streamstress specializing in bridal gown tailoring.

And she said, there aren't many stream, did I say streamstress? You said streamstress. Seamstress. By the way, there aren't many seamstresses out there in their 30s. Okay, fine, late 30s, she said. Every once in a while, the subject comes up on the show. Every time Kathy applauds bridal seamstresses and the miracles we can pull out, I always appreciate her respect.

And our field of our field and expertise. So thank you, Kathy. Oh, that's nice. I'll give you the part that Kathy prefers. Kathy's favorite. Yeah, you don't often see, usually they're older women. Yeah. A seamstress at a bridal salon. Yeah, sure. Yep. All right. And then this one says, let's see, this is from the YouTube crew. Steve says, hey, Presbo, can you send a birthday shout out to Sinbois?

A.K.A. Brian on Monday the 24th. This year he's turning into an old man who yells at clouds officially. Can we get a YouTube from Steve? Thank you so much. Love the YouTube crew.

So there's a shark. There we go. And so that's for a cinbois. Do you know what that reference is? No. It's a Simpsons meme or gif of Grandpa Simpson. He's just like cursing up at the clouds in the sky. Cinbois. Yeah. All right. And then the last...

One I have is, it says, Gadzooks gang, I would like to send a birthday shout out to a fellow YouTuber that goes by the name Sinboisblade or Sinboisblade or Sinboys. You're doing this again? Sinbias? No, no. It's you literally, the last shout out you did was for the same person. Well, they're spelled different. Okay. Okay.

So, Sinbois in this first article, first one I have is spelled S-Y-N-B-W-A-H. Okay. And in this one, it's spelled S-Y-N-B-I-O-S. It's still his birthday. So, it's still your birthday. Hey! Glad we did that. All right, let's do the B-File. Now, WMMR presents Kristen and Steve's Bizarre Files.

A tourist has been killed after leaning out of a train to take a selfie on a famous railway line and hitting a rock. Oh, boy. Olga Permanova.

was traveling on Sri Lanka's iconic Podi Manike line, I don't know, where the accident occurred and she suffered horrific injuries after smashing her head and falling off the train. So you could open the windows and stick out the window. No, it's not that. I'll explain in a second. So they point out a few other, many other stories that popped up about tourists dying in horrific circumstances in a similar pursuit of

of the perfect picture. Last August, a couple plunged 80 feet to their death while posing for a photo near a waterfall in Bali, Indonesia. Weeks before that, a woman was hit by the new Canadian Pacific Express Steam locomotive while posing too close to the tracks.

And in the UK, two university students were found dead at the foot of a waterfall in Scotland after reportedly attempting to take a selfie at the top. So this woman, the police said Olga died after falling off the train when attempting to take a selfie while hanging from the train footboard. The woman knocked against a rock, fell off the train and sustained severe injuries. She was given emergency treatment.

But she died from her head injury. So the reason I ask that is because I follow this couple that travel the railways of the world and they were on one particular train.

And in every car, the windows could be lowered. And every car is posted. Do not stick your head out because they go by so many things where there's no room. That'll rip your head off. Yeah. There's an old story of two people that were doing that opposite trains heading the opposite way. And their heads actually collided with each other. So that goes way, way back. A jet blue airline pilot.

was pulled off a plane and arrested at Logan International Airport Thursday shortly before the aircraft took off to Paris. Jeremy Gudorf of Ohio was arrested after U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials reviewed the flight's manifest and discovered that he, as the pilot, had an active warrant out of North Carolina for second-degree sexual exploitation of a child. Jesus! Right? Yes.

Gurdorf was arraigned on Friday in Boston Municipal Court on a fugitive from justice charge. He pleaded not guilty and was given a $10,000 bail. Oh, mighty. Details about his charges were not made available. Who's into child pornography? Right. Oh, my God. JetBlue said that they had placed Gurdorf on indefinite leave. Yeah, maybe even fire him. Yeah, you might want to fire that guy. Let's think this through. Wow.

Mystery surrounds why someone keeps dumping individually wrapped cakes by a main road in Wales. People living in...

Dolly Woodland, I don't know as I pronounce it, Dolly Woodland. They have their own Dolly. Conway County have been finding almond tarts, lemon tarts, and Eccles cakes on verges by the A470 roadway still in their plastic wrapping.

The cakes have been appearing for several months now. Just sort of left intentionally, obviously? They don't know. And some have started decay, but others are still in date. Margaret's Country Kitchen, the manufacturer behind the cakes, has

has asked the Phantom Iced Tart Flinger to desist from littering the Erie National Park. People living north of the village started noticing the cakes towards the end of last year. One resident, Paul Donnelly, has spotted them regularly and picked them up while out walking his dogs. Margaret's Country Kitchen Tarts. So good you'd eat them if you found them on the verge. He said it's been...

He said it's been going on for quite a few months now, though this week we've had quite a major dumping. Three, there were... You don't usually hear that. Three earlier this week and another two on Friday. He said, I didn't notice them at first, but when the packing started to get familiar, I noticed a pattern. I said, Reginald, where did you find that? It was right over there at the book. He said the strangest thing is that they're still sealed in their packaging and some are still in date. If someone's bought them...

then why just throw them away? You'd think that after being run over by a warrior that they'd be inedible, but now the taste is ever. People have been discussing the cakes around the village of Dolly Woodland and concluded that they've most certainly been thrown from a passing vehicle. Oh, yes, and I'm sure walked over quite a bit. Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. Alright, thanks Kat. So, last week, Casey came to us and said, you gotta hear this story. And it involves our program director, Chuck D'Amico.

And, like, I don't even want to set this up because I don't know exactly where to start with this. It started off as something we thought, oh, we've heard millions of stories like this. And then it became one of those things, I think. And there's, like, nine levels on which just about everyone can connect to. Well, I think you could set it up. Sorry, I think you could set it up by saying that, like, there's so much sickness going around. That's true. Everybody's getting something. I'll set it up like this. I got a text message from Chuck last week.

And it just said, dude, right? It might have been dude with an exclamation point or it might have been dude with a period. But either way, it was just dude. And then I responded back, dude, with a question mark. And then he responded back, hey, do you want to see something really gross? And I responded back with, yes, please. And he sent me a picture. And then...

Then a phone call had to happen after I saw this picture. What was in that picture? I don't even want to describe it to you. Okay. Because he's going to tell you the story of how we ended up at this picture. No theme song? Oh, shoot. Yeah. You know what? Yeah. We have never given Chuck. He's got a theme here. Yeah, baby. Yeah. All right. That's enough. Great song. All right. So what happened?

Listen, I'm really... I know you guys wanted to have me come in here and talk about this, but I found myself being really, really nervous about it. Yeah. Well, Casey told us that this was a great story and you had a wonderful way to tell it. That's what he said. All right. So I'll do my best. I'll do my best. I apologize if it sucks because I'm not the storyteller, you guys. But I also feel like I'm having a little bit of PTSD. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. So...

How much of it do you want to hear? The whole thing. Yeah. Well, you came in that day to our studio and you were like, yeah, I'm not really feeling great. And I was like, and I had just come off being sick for a long time. And I was like, oh, this isn't good. Why is it here? And you know what? By the way, to that, Kathy, you had the look. And I know because I've had that look. I know that I look that way when I'm working to suppress stomach sickness. Something. Something.

Like I'm going to like just right. You were the beginning stages of that. Something's bubbling and it's not going to turn out well. So, yeah, I came back too early. Yeah. So I hadn't been feeling great. Everybody was off on Monday. You guys were off on Tuesday. But I took a sick day on Tuesday to get to urgent care. Right.

Because people like Kathy that I knew had had the flu and I was trying to kind of cut it off at the pass to see if I could get ahead of it a little bit. Right. They prescribed me nothing. They urgently prescribed you nothing. Right. So they said, just take regular cold and flu medication. Right. Like over-the-counter Zyrtec, Dayquil, that kind of stuff. Now-

This story kind of starts with the daily medications that I take every day. And then it's going to end with an extreme appreciation for car detailers. All right. So I take... I already take...

like an anti-anxiety depression medication. There's no shame in admitting that. No. Shout out to Lexapro. Millions do. So I take that. I take a cholesterol pill. I take a high blood pressure pill. I sometimes take a probiotic and I take this huge vitamin. By the way, all this chat has made me realize I need to take my fiber pills right now. You take that while you're here. Go ahead. Right. So I take this handful of five or six pills every morning.

And then that morning, oh, oh, my buddy, my buddy Brian had been sick also. And he told me, he's like, hey, I heard you're not feeling great. I have a Z-Pak left over. Let me, let me bring you that. Okay. Okay.

Dr. Wright's going to love that. Share antibiotics with your friends. Oh, believe me. I feel like, yeah, we're going to hear from him soon. So I take that giant handful of pills. Then I take the two cold medicine, like Dayquil. They're like horse pills. By the way, do you have anything in your stomach that you eat? No. Then I take the first two Z-Pak pills. Then I'm driving in and I have like my kind bar every day and a cup of coffee and all that kind of stuff.

And I feel fine. Then just a brand muffler. Just with his eyes, I can see it. So I have all this in my stomach. And I don't know if you guys remember, we had no internet on Wednesday. Yeah. So we have our morning show meeting, which by the way, I thought was quite productive. Yeah. I thought it was very good. We covered a lot of stuff. Kathy was pleasant-ish. Yeah. And it went pretty well. So after the meeting, we're getting on to about...

noon, right? Still no internet. So I go back to my office and the reason I bring up the internet is I can't get a whole lot done. You can't even program music. Yeah. That comes into play here. Okay. Yeah. So I look at the clock and I'm like, oh, I'm ready for the next two Z-Pak pills. So I take the Z-Pak pills and I come in to catch Casey and bother him, see if he wants to grab some lunch. He says no.

And I like burp, right? And I can taste something. I'm like, man, that is not pleasant. Like whatever that is, that is not good. And then I realized- 37 pills in your stomach. And then I realized, all right, well, I really haven't had much to eat. So I went out to get something to eat. I get pizza. I eat it in my car in the parking lot, okay? I will often do that because I can listen to the radio station. I can catch up on some phone calls, things like that. I made two phone calls and literally during the second phone call,

I'm like telling my buddy, I'm like, man, I don't feel so good. Right. Like and if I could, I would just go home. But I can't because the music isn't done for the next day. My computer's in my office. I'm like, I'll just go in and I'll tackle what I need to get done, like the bare minimum. And I'll pack up my stuff and I'll get going home because what I really, really, really want to do is lay down. Right. I just really want to lay down.

So I come in, and I'm able to work for like 10 minutes, and then I got to put my head down for 10 minutes, right? And I got to work for five minutes, and I got to put my head down for 10 minutes. You're in your office the whole time? Yeah. Yeah. And it's really, really not getting good. Because there's not a ton of places to like literally lie down around here. See, I would have done that. Like our old offices, we had dark conference rooms. We had couches. You could turn the lights off. I mean, Preston built a fort under his bed. You can lay under my desk when you want to. Just...

clean it up after. I actually thought about coming in here because you can turn the lights off and there's a couch. But what I really needed to do was just get home and lay down. That's what I really needed to do. Oh, when I was walking in, I realized I had a pretty bad headache. So I took the next two. I took the next two cold and medication. Cold and flu. Because they have like ibuprofen for headaches and stuff like that. So I took those two. Was there any glaring...

messages on boxes about what not to pair certain medications with? I don't even know if I have the boxes. I certainly didn't. All right, all right. So I got a dozen pills in me, like a pizza and a coffee. Must be taken with pizza. Yeah, right, right. And by the way, I am feeling terrible. And it's not a stomach ache. I can't tell you what it was. It was from my head to my waist. Everything just felt awful. Everything. You flushed?

Just, yeah. Like, barely any energy, right? I finish up my paperwork and all that, and I get walking out to my car. And I get in the car, and I'm like, I'm just going to try to make it. I'm just going to try to make it home. You live in New Jersey. Yeah. Yeah, it's about a 40-minute ride. Are you leery of driving at this point, or is it not? Yes, but I feel like I can take my time, kind of stay in the right lane, and just let people go by me. Right. So I get driving. I get to Belmont Avenue, and I'm like...

Which is just outside the parking lot. It was down. I was through two lights, right? You can put your car in neutral and it will roll to Belmont. Did fresh air help at all? I cracked the window. So you leave the building, walk to your car. In the interim of walking from the building to your car, did you feel any better or did you just feel... No, not even a little bit. But I'm like, I'm just going to try to tough it out and get home.

So when I get to Belmont Avenue, I'm like, man, I might have to pull over and just like lay down in my car because I just really, really want to lay down. So I turn my hazards on and I start driving with the hazards on and just letting people pass me and all this other stuff. So I get onto the Schuylkill. I make the right onto the Schuylkill. And then I start feeling tingling in my left hand. Right? Like very noticeable tingling in my left hand. And at this point, I'm thinking...

Like, this is not normal. Whatever this is, it's terrible. Do you start to think heart attack? Yeah.

Yeah, but it wasn't painful. It was very tingly, right? Yeah, you usually feel like a sort of a stabbing or a pain, yeah. And then immediately, it's also in my right hand. Okay. So both of my hands, not like pins and needles. Good, I'm having a double heart attack. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's a very interesting, unique sensation. It wasn't like pins and needles. And my hands, they're not weak, but they're just very, very odd. I drive for another like two or three minutes.

Now it's both of my entire hands. And it's very, very intense in both of my hands, right? And I'm like, oh my God, I don't know what is happening to me, right? And so you know how you have a thought, you have like a complete thought in less than a second. Yeah. Like you don't have to say all of the words to yourself. Right. And I'm having thoughts like,

I could call my wife, but she couldn't do anything. And if I call 911, I don't even know how to explain where I am. There you are. Yeah. Or how to find me and all this. I'm having these thoughts like that. Now the tingling is I can literally feel it moving up both of my arms, right? It's coming up to my arms. And I'm like, this is awful. This is horrible. It's not going to turn around. So I pull over to the side of the road on the Schuylkill. I have my hazards on. I got my windows all the way down. I'm getting cool air coming in.

And at one point, I had that big black jacket on that Preston and I both have. It's like heavy, heavy pockets. At one point, I'm like, I have got to call 911. I have got to get some help.

You've gone to the place now where it is literally do or die time. I'm in my car like this. I'm like this. I can't move. I can literally feel whatever it is moving up my body, moving up my arms. My arms are tingling so much that they're vibrating. They felt like they were vibrating from the inside. And then it started to feel like I had warm gloves on from my hands all the way to my elbows. At this point, I can barely get enough energy to get my hand out my driver's side window.

and I'm waving for help. Oh, my God. I'm like this, and I'm waving. Just try to get anybody to stop and pull over. Hi. You're still on Belmont? No, no. I'm on the side of the school. So for someone passing, they're just seeing sort of a lazy hand flopping outside of the window. I'm just like, I can barely move it. I had no energy, no control, anything. I can't even open my eyes. I couldn't get my phone out of my pocket. I'm like this. I can barely move my fingers.

Wow. And I had this thought where even if I could get my phone, I can't turn it on. I can't dial it. I can't explain where I am or what's happening to me. Right. And I'm literally saying to myself, I don't know if I said this out loud or just in my head, somebody please help me. Oh, wow. I'm going to die on this God forsaken freeway. So those thoughts that you have that are in an instant, I'm having thoughts like,

I'm going to be found on the side of the Schuylkill dead. Yeah. Or I'm going to pass out and I'm going to wake up maybe on the ground or in a hospital or something like that. Or this is it. Right. So and then all this with this, all this, you know that you haven't programmed the music. Pierre's going to play. No, it's done. It was totally done. By the way.

Even when I do program the music, it plays really well. To put that, and we've all danced up to that precipice, maybe not as profound as you had it, but this is it. This is it. It's happening. I am at the doorstep. I wouldn't say I was making peace with it because I was not what I wanted, but I had zero energy to resist anything. It was taking over. My body was shutting down.

It was complete blackness. Yeah. Right? I did see... You were blacking out? So I kind of wanted to black out. I'm like, I want to black out and just like either wake up again or not. Right. I'm having all kinds of crazy thoughts about my family. Right. By the way, the things you don't think about is amazing. I didn't think about work. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, like I'm just thinking about...

My wife and children, like I knew I have life insurance. Blake Lively. Yeah, Blake Lively. Yeah, yeah. I was seeing stars, by the way. And I knew you would say celebrities. But I was, it was total blackness. Yeah. But I was seeing stars. They were white. They weren't like star-shaped. They were like fireworks. You were passing out. But they weren't like exploding. They were just kind of there. Like they were just kind of there.

So this is, now this, whatever's happening is coursing through your entire body at this point. Yeah, yeah, it's just all the way. And by the way, it never felt like

Like a stomachache. It never felt like that. But I'm at a point where I feel like it's all the way up to my neck. Yeah. And... You took more pills? Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, I'm ready. The image I had in my head was like a light switch. Like the light switch is going to be clicked down. Yeah. It's going to be clicked down and I don't know if I'm going to die from it or just pass out from it. Right? And I'm right there. And then completely out of nowhere... Oh, God. I never felt it coming. Yeah.

Just all over the inside of my car. Projectile vomiting is what you mean. So sometimes you vomit where you can literally see...

Like, you can see the force of the flow coming out of your mouth. Is that what you had? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. So it's pizza and pills at this point. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which is a great 60s band. Just everywhere. I mean, just everywhere. That was the latest from pizza and pills. And I feel like... How long did it last? The vomit. Okay, so...

I immediately felt like, oh, this is what needed to happen. Yeah. I feel maybe 1% better. Oh, geez. Like it had just started to turn the other way. And then another one, right? Another wave comes through. Another wave comes powering out, right? And you didn't make it out the window at that time either? No.

Oh, no, no, no, no. No, no. I couldn't even move. I couldn't. I couldn't move. Where's the bulk of it landing? Everywhere. There's a console inside the stick. You know, the little bags around the two stick shifts. Yeah. Kat, there have been just a couple of times in my life where throwing up, I did not care where it was going. Yeah. Like I just, it was the.

Usually that's priority. Where am I going to hurt? Where am I going to toss it? There have been a couple times where I'm like, I'll just puke all over me. I don't care. You're not presented with an option. It just happens. You just feel so bad. You just need it out. Your body needs it out. You have no sway over it. It happened four times. Four times? It happened four times. But you guys will love this part. After the second part,

The other end of me was like, yo, we got some business. We got no way. Yeah. Yeah. Right. So the other end of me was there and, and it had been so scary and so horrifying that for half a second, I thought, just let it happen, man. Just get it, just get it out. So you're, you're, you're able to at least.

bargain with your ass right right okay now what's what's awesome is it didn't happen okay yeah but i also didn't have to like i didn't have it would have been awesomer if it would oh yeah but it didn't happen not for the detailing place isn't it remarkable that there's uh zero shame attached to the vomit but like a little bit of shame if you pooped your pants

Yeah, but I felt like I was staring death in the face and I'm like, if this is what it takes to start feeling better. You do it. Get it out. It is how you survive. Right? So for whatever reason, we moved on from that. And then two more times in the car. And then I was able to like find a napkin out of my glove compartment, like wipe my mouth.

You want to be presentable. I had to get it out of my nose and mouth. So you just drove home in like a wall of vomit. Cars full of puke.

Smells great. Still have the hazards on. And I still feel like hell. You're still at about 95% feeling horrible? Yeah. Even with expelling all that? Oh, yeah. At what point did you text me, dude, and then took the picture of the vomit? So I made it home. I walked in the house, took off my pants, my jacket, my shirt, my pants.

All that. And I got some water, brushed my teeth, all that kind of stuff. And that's when I was able to go out and check out the damage in the car. How are you feeling at this point? Pretty good, actually. Okay. Yeah. I ended up being homesick the next day. Right. Because it was one of those kind of days where it's like you can get up and walk around for five minutes, but then you have to lay down for half an hour. You've blown all the electrolytes out of your body. Yeah. Like I didn't want to eat or drink anything for a while. Right.

Somebody texted in, Chuck, this is before you even got to the puke portion of your story when you were just talking about the tingling sensation. Somebody had texted in and said, I had a very similar experience when I had neurovirus and I was in the ER when I went through it. Right. Yeah. Somebody else had said, um,

Casey's wife Diane said neurovirus. Yeah, I mean, but that's going around. People are getting that. Somebody told me a story that, Chuck, the other end, they didn't make it. They didn't make it. They literally crapped their pants. Did they puke as well? Yeah, puking and crapping. Well, I did. He wasn't some other person. No, no. Steve, it wasn't. No, I immediately, like when I got home through closing the laundry, immediately went to the bathroom and that was horrifying as well. Yeah.

But at least it was where it belonged and I didn't have to clean it out of my car. Yeah, yeah. Wow, man. So you thought you were going to die? Big time. So, yeah. How has that changed you now? Less pizza. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Less pizza. More triumph. Yeah. Don't come on the show without my theme song. I don't know, man. Like, I don't know. It's...

It's one of those things where, like, afterwards and you're happy that you're, you know, that it didn't happen. Like, you want to hang on to that feeling, that feeling of, like, you know, it immediately resets your priorities. You know what I mean? Like, but, you know, they kind of are what they are anyway, but you get lost in the stress of the daily job and BS. You know, it's really hard to maintain perspective of what really is important, what matters and what doesn't. Well, sure. It's funny. Yeah.

So I had the cancer thing in 2014 and prostate cancer. And I had Dr. Mike and the best people and people. I got awards for things about fighting cancer. I never fought cancer. I mean, you know, I always say people, kids are now in CHOP. They're fighting. They're heroically doing it. And anyone who's dealing with it. Mine was very simple and very easy. But after that, the euphoria of coming through it.

But then you are living your life as you always live your life. And I want to say it erodes it. You have an extra percentage appreciation, but you're going to live your life and you're going to have the same foibles and the same things that influence the way you react throughout the day. So you'd like to say that in a moment of weakness when you're going to not be the person you want to be, you could say, ah, but that reminded me to appreciate life. It doesn't always, you know. Hey, Chuck, when did you have the energy to clean your car out?

Uh, Monday. Uh, wait, what's today? Monday. Today's Monday. I did it, uh, the day that I was off Thursday. Thursday. Yeah. So it sat in there for a day. Overnight plus about, about 24 hours. Imagine if someone tried to jack your car that day. So it's not even really, it's not even really done. I cleaned it like three times.

At the risk of payola plugola, I might be a great target for somebody to market their car detailing business. Did you in fact bring it to a... Not yet. Okay. No, but it needs it. No, no. Honestly... I'm driving around with a can of Lysol disinfectant in there. Oh, my God. Oh, man. At least it's warm today. You can have the windows down. Well, yeah. Yesterday it was warm and I'm like, oh, this might help. And then it just smelled like hot puke. Oh, that's disgusting.

Listen, something like that, when it gets in the cracks of a vehicle, it's... Well, it's in the seats. Like, the seats need to be pulled out and shampooed and all that kind of stuff. Wait, we need to see the picture.

Oh, you don't want to see that. No, it's terrible. I'll send it to you guys. That's all right. Big chunks of cheese. Yeah. Here's another text that says, yes, I had a neurovirus threw up at work in my waste paper basket. Was sent home and almost lost it out the other end on my way home in the car. And it says, tingling fingers, tingling toes. Dude, that's... Neurovirus. Yeah, I had a little bit in my toes. But the hands, it was all the way up my arms to the point where it felt like I had...

warm oven mitts on both arms. So your first sign of anything was wrong was how much in advance of this episode? How many hours, how many days before did you get... Oh, oh, oh. Was it two days? Was it a day? Yeah, I had like a lingering sore throat. Okay. Like I was trying to address and wasn't going... Oh, the other thing I was taking on...

was the coldies. I kept having coldies. Coldies. They have like the zinc for your throat. It sounds like none of the medication was here. It sounds like what everyone's saying, the norovirus. Yeah, but I don't know what makes it go. If all the mixture in my stomach made it worse or what. Hang on. Dennis has a tip for those who have an emergency. Hi, Dennis. You're on the air. Good morning, bud.

Yeah, good morning, guys. All I did was get out of the shower. Yes, of course. What's up, my man? Hey, listen, you know, you can, like, hit your button on your phone and Siri comes on and it'll do stuff for you. There's a program that you don't have to hit it. It's like...

As long as you, like, it hears your voice, it'll do it. So if you're in an accident and your phone's near you but you can't get to it, you can answer the dial. You can answer where you are. You can either turn your flashlight on, record a statement, do anything. So that's really good to have. So in case you don't know where you are and feel like Chuck was hesitant on calling 911 because he's like, I'm not sure exactly where I am, it will tell you your location if you need it.

Yeah, exactly. You don't have to press it. You could just say, hey, Siri, call 911 or Siri, what's my location? Or record this message. Like, you know, you think they're not going to make it and leave a message for what happened. Okay. That does, yeah. Turn the flashlight on. I didn't even think about that. And so for you, if you had done that and you had passed out because it's a 911 call, I believe they can.

locate your cell signal. Right, man. Thanks, Dennis. That was kind of my thinking when I tried to get it out of my pocket. Normally, it's funny. Normally, I would have it like I have a little holder in the car and it attaches to the stereo and all that. But for whatever reason, I hadn't done that. And when I tried to get it out of my pocket, I thought...

Maybe if I could just dial, they could find me. Right. Was your wife Leanne home when you got home? She was at work. She was at work. It was probably better for you psychologically that you don't want to come and look like you crawled out of Vomit Central. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Vomit bath. I mean, at least you could rehumanize yourself a little bit. What do you think of the picture?

Dude, there's like a pool of vomit in your cup holder. Oh, oh. And it was cold Wednesday night, so when I went to clean that out, they were frozen. Frozen puke in the cup holder. Pukesicles. That's something. Yeah, dude. Oh, my God.

I'll send it to you. Your system got cleaned out. Oh, yeah. I lost like two pounds. Nice. Good kickstart to your diet. Wow, Chuck. I'm looking at this picture. That is gnarly. Man, oh, man. I've had many occasions in my life where the moment after you puke,

I feel so much better. Yes. Yeah. So much better. Yeah, you feel good. It's just the worst leading up to it. Yeah, it's fleeting. You know, that moment of feeling better, it's over pretty quickly. But look, I've thrown up in the past. You know, you get a sick stomach, you start to feel it coming up. Like you could almost fight it for a second. Yeah. This felt completely different. It felt completely different.

It felt like my whole body was shutting down. No, clearly, but you've heard it described the exact same way from other people who have the neurovirus. So you're looking for assistance. I'm curious to the pulled off to the side and no one responded. No, I would have taken anybody to do anything for me. Like anybody, stop and just do anything for me. I wonder what you could do if you're that incapacitated to...

I mean, would you have opened the door and would it, I mean, you don't want to crawl out of the car into an active highway. Right. What would you, would you? I couldn't move. I could barely wave my arm. Like I could barely lift my arm. So even hoisting yourself up to an open window and hanging out. Opening my eyes was, I didn't feel like I could do that. Damn, man. Yeah. It was awful. Wow.

Yeah. That's horrible. And so your ability to drive was definitely forget it. Forget it. Wow. Hang on. I got John wants to commiserate. Hi, John. You're on the air. Good morning. Good morning. Hey, Preston. Steve. How are you guys? We're good, buddy. You wanted to tell us an interesting story about yourself.

Oh, it's an extremely interesting story. So one day I had a training at work and I got off around lunch. So I went with one of the guys I work with to a local bar. We had a beer. I ate some wings. I went home. So after I leave the bar, I realized that I think I got to use the bathroom. Okay.

So I was like, all right, well, I can make it. I'm about 30 minutes from home. It's not that bad. Not even 10 seconds later, it's that bad. Oh, no. Are we talking diarrhea?

Oh, yeah. So I'm in like, I don't know, it's all Amish fields and horse fields. I'm like, all right, there's going to be a wah-wah. There's going to be a sheet. There's going to be something. I was like, I'm not pulling over in front of these houses and doing this. They're God-fearing people. Yeah, well, I got to that point. I was like, all right, screw it. I'm doing it.

So I pull over, and I get out, and I am now barely able to walk because if I don't clench, here it comes. It's knocking. Yeah.

So, yeah, I get around to the passenger side of the car. Well, the car at the time, it locked. Everything except the driver door. So the door was locked when I went to open it. On the way back over to the driver door to unlock it, full bore, there it is, it's here. It just lets go. I mean, dude, when I tell you, like, it was like...

I mean, you've all changed your diaper most years. When you talk about a blowout, it was a blowout. So now I'm on the side of the highway cleaning myself. I had to take my boots off. I had to cut my pants off and underwear off. Luckily, I had a knife.

And leave all my clothes on the side of the road and drive home with literally nothing on. You were in nothing. Fully naked driving home. Fully. Full bore naked. Use the socks to wipe. I'm not embarrassed by it. So I call my wife and I say, yo, and I'm upset. And she thought I got in a car accident. I was like, no, baby, it's worse. It's worse. Worse accident. Yeah.

So I told her about it, and I was like, you need to meet me in the driveway with a towel right now. And she thinks it's hilarious. And so I get home, and she's, like, holding the towel outside trying to play games with me. I was extremely embarrassed.

And now I'm not. I think it's funny now. But, yeah, so I ended up going in there, getting in the shower. While I'm in the shower, round two happened. Oh, no. At least you're in the shower, though. Oh, no. I had to jump out of the shower. Have you guys ever had to use the toilet while soaking wet? Oh, yeah. It's not comfortable. It sucks, yeah. But everything worked out. I washed myself up. I actually sold the car. Oh, my God.

That's great. I cleaned it up a little bit and about two weeks later, I sold it. Not playing the game. That was a horror car. The horror car. But I want to tell you guys, I'm coming to Cardboard Classics this weekend. I can't wait to see you guys. Yes, make sure you remind us of who you are when you get there, John.

Oh, absolutely. You guys will probably never forget this. It'll be great. We'll see you there, John. Thanks, buddy. We'll see you. Oh, my God. By the way, this is a totally different subject. We do have to take a break right now because we have a guest coming up. But I would imagine it's perfectly legal to drive completely buck naked, right, in your car. I think there is something concerning shoes, perhaps, but I think you could be...

Believe it or not, I think you could be completely naked. It wouldn't be indecency, right? It's not public indecency. I don't know. Take that up for a spin. All right, Chuck, thank you for sharing. That is freaky. And I'm sorry you went through that. Glad you're alive. Let's have a great week, everybody. Yeah. Wow.

All right, well, we do have to take a break, but we have to play his theme music on the way out. John D'Amico, program director of WMMR, alive and well. We're going to take a break, come back in a second. Actress Melissa Roche from Night Court will be joining us. Stay put.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a place to listen to MMR online nationwide where you could sign up for an MMR insider newsletter so you never miss the important stuff on All Things Rock. Maybe see Preston and Steve Daily Rush videos. Look for upcoming shows on a comprehensive concert calendar. See when and where we'll be out and about. Pick up some MMR gear and like a whole lot more. Well, it turns out there's a website that does all that.

WMMR.com and it's always available like right now on your computer or phone or whatever and we even made a catchy little jingle so you remember it

All right. Thank you, Kath. We've got a guest on our Xfinity mobile guest line who's going to be joining us. And she's a North Jersey gal. Yes, she is. By the way, spent many years on Big Bang Theory. And now is Judge Abby Stone as she presides on Night Court. So please. Did we have music, Casey? We do. Right here. There we go. There you go. Please welcome...

Melissa Roche to the show this morning. Good morning, Melissa. Good morning. Thank you so much for the music intro. That's an awesome way to set up my morning. I mean, it's an iconic theme, don't you think? It really is. It really is. And it just pumps you up. It does. Well, you know, so you're the producer on this show, which I watch and enjoy quite a lot. Were you...

How did this come your way? Was this always something you were interested in rebooting or did they present you with the opportunity to do this? How did this end up coming into being?

You know, after I got off Big Bang Theory, I had this production deal at Warner Brothers where Big Bang was. And I was thinking about what I wanted to do next. And I knew I loved doing multi-camera sitcoms, you know, that are shot in front of a live audience. And I was always such a huge fan of Nightcore. I remember watching it as a kid. I'm sure a lot of it went over my head. I remember watching it with my parents and them saying, cover your ears.

during certain parts of the show. But I always loved it. There was something very different about it. The comedy is so left of center and had these beautiful moments of heart. And I thought, you know, this is such a great construct for comedy. It's just a revolving door of stories that come through the courtroom doors. And it's timeless.

And so I spoke to him about getting the IP for the show and seeing if we could do it. And then we reached out to John Larroquette to see if he'd be interested. And he said, absolutely not. And then, but we started a friendship and he left the door a smidge open and we just kept talking about it. And originally I wasn't going to start it. I was going to produce it. And then after we just built this friendship and started talking about what the show could be, I thought I'm going to be a real dummy.

If I don't actually star in this, if I got this script, I would be jumping at the chance to do it. So then I came on board to be in it, and it was such a, I'm so glad I did, because I've been having that time in my life. No, you're perfect. You're playing, you know, Judge Harry Stone's daughter, and you have Harry Anderson-esque voice.

qualities i think you know sort of there's a there's a um an innocence to your character maybe a little bit more so uh than than was was he but but um i love that larry kent is a part of it because yeah and i was wondering how you were going to because he was sort of the the lothario and and he was you know he had this edge to him but he however the script writers did it masterfully because he's a little bit more paternal but he still retains a lot of that

Oh, I'm so glad you think so. Yeah, we had a lot of conversations and John was very involved in that as well of how you bring Dan Fielding back into at the time, you know, it was like 2021. We thought, what, how are we going to do this? Because you don't want to water him down too much that he's not funny anymore. But we really we found this great balance of he still thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. He's he's still very much Dan Fielding, but he's funny.

He found love. He lost love. He lost his wife. And he's got... And that's always, I think, been the case with Dan Fielding, which is why I think the character worked. As smarmy as he could be at times, you always knew that the guy had a heart. And then that now is just emboldened by the fact that now he has this...

father-daughter surrogate relationship with Abby that is really beautiful to play out. And then, of course, this season we're joined by the amazing Wendy Malick from Just Shoot Me and Hot in Cleveland. And she's such a great foil for Dan and such a wonderful addition to the cast along with Namby and Namby and Lucrito. It's a really... I feel very lucky to be surrounded by the powerhouses that are a part of this cast. Yeah, it's a great ensemble. Melissa, I...

you'd mentioned, you know, preferring to shoot live and then the three cameras set up and all of that. And I have a question about the nuts and bolts of that, if you don't mind. I know that obviously you guys get together and you do a table read for the episode. You find out what works, what doesn't work. When you go to shoot this with a live audience, I had the pleasure of watching the Golden Girls one time in California. I went to a shooting. It was really cool. But,

But will you guys rehearse that on set in its full leading up to before you bring in the live audience? And like I said, I know you do the table read, but do you actually act it all out before anybody gets there? That's such a great question. We do. After our table read, we have a couple days of rehearsal, and each day after rehearsal, the script changes. We figure out what works, what doesn't. And then by the time we get to our taping on Friday, the script has changed a bunch.

from the time that we sat down at the table read. And then even in front of the audience, we really use the audience sort of as a focus group. So if something doesn't get as big of a laugh as we want it, we'll change the joke on the spot and see if that meets the laugh, which is really fun. And it's a great way to see before it gets to air what's going to work and what isn't. So your writers are there while you guys are filming this live, and if they need to substitute lines, they've got that ready to go?

Yeah, that's exactly it. That's cool. It's really neat. It's a very collaborative process. If we get another season, if everyone wants to come to a taping, it's super fun. Well, you know what I'm thrilled about is that you're bringing in people from Big Bang Theory. Mayim Bialik was on playing a hyper real version of herself. And I love the fact that your character turned out to be a massive Blossom fan, like insane Blossom fan. And so, you know, we're all...

Blossom fans as well. But when you and her were working together on Big Bang Theory, were you in fact yourself a Blossom fan? I am. Thank you so much for asking that. That's where the story came from, from that episode, is that I am such a huge Blossom fan. And when I first sat down next to Maya at our first table read together, I was in a panic of, should I tell her that I am one of the biggest Blossom fans on the planet? I dressed as her for

Halloween. I thought, this is going to get weird if I don't come out of the gate and tell her I'm a fan. And then she finds out, like, we shared a bathroom at the time. And I thought, we're going to be very intimate for a while. And then what if she finds out later that I was a huge fan? Then it might be weirder. So I just cornered her and I was like, look, I got to get it out on the table. Ha, ha, ha, ha.

So storyline wise, is this kind of mirror Harry Stone's obsession with Mel Torme that they had in that series? I love that you asked that. It's very much so. I think, you know, we haven't fully delved into who Abby's Mel Torme is. We talk about it and I think but I think there's definitely Mel Torme vibes. Although, as you know, in that episode, things went awry. And if you haven't seen it, that's going to be re-airing in a couple of weeks.

I'd love to also see, is it Kunal Nayyar? I know him as Raj from Big Bang Theory, but he was playing a very slick, romantic counterpart to Raj. That's got to be fun for these people that you've worked with for 10 years on Big Bang Theory to come in and sort of tinker with their perception.

Oh my gosh, it's such a blast and it's so wonderful to be reunited. They're all my brothers and sisters, so to get to be on set with them again is just so thrilling. And we've really delved into a lot of those relationships from Big Bang throughout the season. We have Kate Micucci, who played Raj's girlfriend on Big Bang. Laura Spencer played another girlfriend of Raj's on Big Bang. And we just, we really...

love the Big Bang Universe as fodder to come into the courthouse. That was great. It's great. Melissa, I loved Night Court when I was a kid. And there was an episode of 30 Rock where they had a mini Night Court reunion where Kenneth got to see Harry and Margie Post get married. And Charles Robinson was there as well. And sadly, all of those actors have passed away. But soon you guys have Marshall Warfield on the set as well, which is so freaking cool to see these legends come back.

Oh my gosh, it's such a dream. And yeah, I love that 30 Rock episode also, but it's wonderful when we get to have Marsha. She's such a dream to work with. And when she first came onto our set, it was the end of season one, and she's reunited with Dan in this moment. I've never felt such electricity in front of

a live audience before. They didn't know she was going to be coming. And we have a lot of OG fans that come to the taping every week. And you heard someone audibly say, oh my gosh, it's Rod. It was really cool. And she's just such an unbelievable comedic talent. So yeah, we're, it's,

so special when she's there and to get to see her with John also is just really, really extraordinary. So I have to ask because I'm a massive Batman fan and Kaley Cuoco played Harley Quinn and you did as well, right? You did VO work for Harley Quinn. Yeah. Did you compare and contrast your performances or any notes you exchanged?

Oh my gosh, you know, we didn't. It was just so coincidental. When I finished working on that, she had already been in the works starring in her version of it. But I'm just always cheering her on. And she's so at that show that she does with Harley is so funny. And we're just so excited that both of us got to live in that world for a bit.

Well, the night court itself, and you said at the beginning of the interview, it is a great forum for it must have the most amount of guest actors. I mean, you have guest stars constantly because you have to fill that courtroom every night with people who are pleading their cases. I mean, it must be the job to get right now, right?

Oh my gosh, it's so fun. We've been so fortunate and we are so excited by the fact that people want to come and play with us. Because I think it is such a fun show to do because you are in front of that live audience. Most actors do come from a theater background. So to get, it's the best of both worlds getting to perform live. And this week on tonight, we have Mo Collins from Matt TV. And she plays Harry Stone's old magician's assistant.

So if you like the original, it's a real nostalgia-filled episode where we find out that Abby hated her growing up. And she's so mad that she came into court. And we get to see this really contentious relationship between the two of them and Moe is...

just so, so funny. And watching her in front of the live audience was just really, really cool. It's a wonderful callback and an evolution of the story. And you're doing a great job. So, yeah, we look forward to that. And by the way, here's a text I just got, Melissa. It says, a graduate of MHS 98 with Melissa. Congrats on all the success. No way! Marlboro High School! All right, go Mustangs! Yeah!

I unfortunately don't know who that was from. It was a random texter, but I wanted to pass that along to you. Oh, goodness. Okay, well, if you find out, tell that person I say hi. All right, we'll do it. All right, Night Court Season 3, Tuesdays, 8.30 on NBC. Thanks for reaching out, Melissa. It was great to talk to you. Thank you so much. So wonderful talking to you. Melissa Roche, guys. Yeah!

I love it. I was a big Night Cart fan. Yeah. It was in that. Didn't it fall in the Thursday? It was a Thursday night. Yeah, it was in that. So you had a killer NBC lineup. Cracks me up how you guys remember what nights TV shows were on. I have no freaking idea. There was a time when I could recite the entire. I mean, even Showtime, HBO and a few of the cable channels were on at that time. But

But now, you'd have to be Stephen Hawking to be able to recall all that stuff. But yeah, it was a big thing when the night was. You know, when you're, oh, okay, this is my Thursday night. Well, Thursday night was like a huge night for sitcoms, yeah. NBC crushed the competition for years with their lineup. All right, well, speaking of TV, apparently there's a...

There's something Kathy wanted to tell us about. It's like seen on a TV show or a movie or something like that. You were watching something and you, a show that you liked, but you had to turn away. Yeah. So I was really into watching Landman. Landman? Yeah. With Billy Bob Thornton. Okay. And like, I was really into it. And there was a scene where,

at the end of the season that I, I couldn't watch. I actually had to fast forward through it. It was a torture scene and I couldn't, I couldn't get through it. I couldn't watch what was happening and what they were doing and the thought of if it was real. And I just, I had to fast forward through it. What was the nature of the torture? Um,

Just like a beating. They put a nail with a hammer through his thigh. Yeah, and I couldn't watch it. And then it got me thinking. I'm also watching Doc with Scott Wolf. I like it. It's a really good show. But it's a doctor show. It's a medical show, so there's a lot of needles. I can't watch that. And they show it. They'll show the needle going into the skin. And I'm like...

I can't. That I can just kind of like, I will actually like cover my eyes or turn my head away. But this scene, this torture scene at the end of Landman, I had to fast forward. There was this scene in the movie Hostel where they cut this guy's Achilles. Oh my God. So he can't like walk away. I had a very, very hard time with that. Could you take... So it's funny because sometimes it's the way it's presented. Could you take a...

For example, could you take that same scene in the original Pet Sematary when Gage cuts the Achilles on Ed Gwynn, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't remember. I remember Monster. Oh, yeah, Fred Gwynn. Fred Gwynn, yeah. Also from My Cousin Vinny. Yes. He doesn't get his Achilles cut. No, no, but he's a great foil to...

Joe Pesci. What is he, you? What are you doing down there? I'm cutting your freaking Achilles. You mentioned the substance earlier. Listen, I'm going to preface this by saying I am a giant pussy when it comes to all this kind of stuff. I can't take any of it. But I tried watching some of that because you loved it. My wife loved it. Your wife would never make it through. I didn't make it through. And like, it's just any, if it's torture stuff or like,

That type of gore, I can't handle it. Okay, so I can tell you this. And I think we can take it in certain things the way it's presented. Now, I can take anything. Kathy, I think if you want to kind of relax a little bit, Terrifier 3. No, but I mean, the substance, she couldn't take the substance. Kathy? Yeah. I don't know. I mean, there's not...

There's weird things that happen, but it's not like ripping apart and cutting or needles and things like that. Yeah, so it's body harm, but it's not like torture sequences. It's a deformation of sorts. What about boogers, Steve? Could you deal with boogers? I can do cinematic boogers from dusk till dawn. Real life boogers, no. I think that can help.

That's an album. Cinematic boogers. Cinematic boogers. Yeah. Because like on America's Funniest Home Videos or a kid blowing a snot bubble, I want to vomit. Yeah. I'm all right with snot. But gore and the substance is pretty gory in the body stuff, right? Like the way that they take it. Well, yeah. Because I mean, so I, Kathy, somehow arranged early on for me to see a screen and it came out.

There's a back splitting. I forgot about that. Yes, there is. And there are needles. There's a lot of needles. I can do the needles, but yeah, the other gore stuff. Just real quick, Casey. Anybody else watching Severance or just me? Just you, I believe. Okay, all right. Because there's this brain operation that happens. And even with that, I'm like, nah.

I'm going to see what's happening on the wall over here for a bit. I started watching Napoleon, the opening scene of Napoleon. They're beheading. I don't even know who it is. I assume maybe it's Marie Antoinette. I don't know who it is, but I knew where it was going. I saw the guillotine. I was like, I'm just going to look away until I hear the thing come down because I can't do that stuff. I don't know what it says about me, but I have no problem. But I mean, I've been sort of raised on that for the longest time. And I've done those kind of effects when I was a kid. I mean, not to the...

brilliant expertise level that they're doing it now with movies. But I mean, yeah, but it's funny because my, I knew someone who could watch, couldn't watch people get whipped.

Okay. Like in Glory? Like, that's the exact scene. Denzel Washington, any sort of thing like that. Whipping, and it was obviously the horrific aspect of being diminished and your garb, and we're going to treat you this way. But just the act of, in any movie of any kind, whipping was the thing that they couldn't take. And I think it was...

When it's depicted also with the lash marks and the blood, it was too much. Yeah, there's a scene in Master and Commander where a guy gets flogged as well. All right, so Casey, with beheading, Napoleon is out, but what about Gladiator? Like with the sword chopping heads off. Yeah, I don't like any of that stuff. Yeah, and I think it's like, you know, even as a kid, I think it was... What about as the orc getting his head cut off in Lord of the Rings? The only one that I was actually okay with was Thanos. Oh. I didn't see that one coming.

But it was like all CGI, I guess. But, you know, I just had like this fear of it when I was a kid when I first heard of a guillotine. And I was like, oh, I got you. Scary. No kidding. Yeah. Let me go to Corinne. Hi, Corinne. You're on the air. Good morning.

Hi. Hold on. Can you hear me? Yes. Oh, my God. I am fangirling out right now. I have been listening to you guys for years, and this was a spur of the moment call. I am driving to my son's school, and I heard Kathy talk about Landman. Okay. And I had to do the same thing. You had to turn away from that same scene?

Yes, I'm a big TV person. I love TV. And I watch a lot of gore stuff like Landman and Outlander. Have you guys ever watched Outlander? Heard about it. Heard it's really good. Yeah.

Oh, my. Like, I can get it through a lot of stuff, but there's some stuff that is just I I'm shocked that they actually put it on TV, to be honest. Really? So so what what is some of the more extreme things that you've watched and had no problem watching as far as maybe a horror movie or gorg? You know, what's your level?

My level is basically I can watch anything, but when it comes to a lot of blood and seeing people in pain, like where...

There's one part of Outlander where he gets flogged. I don't know if I can say that on the air, but his back is all tore up. I had to turn away from that, too. Normally, I can watch it, but some of the stuff that they put on the TV nowadays wouldn't be back in the day when I was growing up. I'm only 35, but... No, no. It's weird, though, because my wife, the scene in Dumb and Dumber, when his...

Or a Christmas story. Tongue frozen. She cannot stand that. That's hard. That doesn't get to me though. But I understand that. Thank you Corinne and we're happy you finally called in.

We love you. All right, we'll see you later. Marissa, you wanted to comment on one. I think I'm similar to Kathy. Like needles, I can do if somebody's getting a shot, but I can't do if they're like tapping a vein. Can't do that. If it's surgery and incision, like I can't watch the incision, but the one that gets me, I can't watch a fish being filleted.

Oh, really? I would watch Iron Chef and the episodes when they would have the big fish. Yeah. I would have to like fast forward until they were cooking. I kind of find that. Wow. Yeah. Like I think I can watch an animal being filleted, but it's the fish that really gets me. Like when they bring out those like huge, like 50 pound fish and they're like, you know, two arms full and they drop it. Do you find that? They start cutting it.

Oh, my God. When we had a guy a couple years ago who brought in like a fresh tuna that he had. Yeah. And like scraping it off. Really? Oh, my God. No. No, no, no, no, no. So you could see a field dress deer and that wouldn't bother you as bad as fish.

Well, you don't eat deer. You do eat fish. Maybe it's because it makes the fish a real animal. Makes you human. When I do eat it, I was almost like, makes me human. Have you ever seen it in person? Oh, God, I turn away. Okay. On the other hand, when you see the Japanese chefs are preparing or they're slicing those clean slices...

I was actually at a grocery store one time that made an announcement. They were like, we're about to fillet a... It was like a huge fish. And they were inviting shoppers to come into the seafood section. I went over there and watched it. I'm like, that's awesome. So it's pretty wild that that skews Marissa. Anything in particular in that realm, Preston, that you have to avert your eyes? Not avert my eyes, but there are things that will absolutely make me cringe. Like...

hyperextending joints, things like that. Like, you know, Steven Seagal would always do that maneuver where he would crack a forearm. That kind of gets to me a little bit. What about like real injuries in real life in sports and stuff like that? Yeah, those are tough. Casey and I, we've talked about this, but the Lawrence Taylor, Joe Theismann thing,

Casey's never seen Joe Theismann. I've seen it. I never want to see it again. But it happens occasionally, and I have to turn away. And like nowadays, you know, with high def and whatever, you know, you get that. You're right there. Yeah, man. No, thank you. You know what? In fact, there was...

Harry Anderson. Okay. So we were just talking to the gal from a night court, Melissa and Harry Anderson was a professional magician before he was an actor. And I saw him on a, it was a magic special and they had a variety of magicians and he did this trick and

where he takes a very large needle and puts it through his forearm. And he sits there and he spins it around and twists it. He's sitting there going, it's not real. It's an illusion. This is not real. And he's doing it all in person. He's milking it. But stuff like that skeeves me. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Because, I mean, imagine the sensation of moving stuff around. There's a scene in... Do the cheeks, too. There's a scene in...

In Glorious Bastards, where the gal gets shot in the... God damn it, in the shin. Yeah. And Brad Pitt comes over and starts sticking his finger in the bullet hole. Stuff like that skeeves me out. So that gets to you. You know what's funny, though? In Tropic Thunder, when the director gets blown up, that's actually hilarious. Yeah, it's fake! It's fake!

Yeah, it's real. Let's go. We got a lot of people calling in. I have Tony. Hi, Tony. Good morning. Good morning. Morning to see you, Tony. What's up, bud? Game of Thrones. Lots of stuff in Game of Thrones. Yeah. I read the books kind of as the seasons were coming on. And I knew that one season when the mountain was fighting Pedro Pascal. Yes. In the ring. I can't take that scene. He was going to.

crush his head. And I knew it was coming, and I had to look away because, I mean, I could watch an eye dissection at the Franklin Institute. I dissected things in school. But the idea of a man's head being crushed and showing it, I mean, they cut limbs off in that show, but that to me was just, I couldn't do it. Tony, what was even worse about that scene because the visuals were terrible, but the sound that went along with what was happening to Pedro Pascal's head made me nearly vomit. Which I heard because I was...

I turned away. So I'm like, okay, that's enough. I kind of know what's going on. I don't need to see it to believe that it happened. Yeah. It's funny how you pick your poison. Like, like you may be comfortable with seeing the head chopped off, just not crushed, you know, but for whatever psychologically, there are things that are just triggers. They, they took Ned Stark's head and, uh, I didn't see that one coming. Yeah. Yeah. Um,

Let me go next to Bob. This is interesting. This is not exactly what we're talking about. It's a little bit different. Hey, Bob, good morning. Good morning, guys. Hey, what's up, my man? My daughter was getting her PhD in neuroscience and had to do an autopsy where she had to cut the skull and remove a brain. She had no problem doing that, but she had to shave the head for it.

And that was more like a personal thing. And she just was freaked out about that. She was freaked out simply shaving the head in preparation for the extraction. Yes. Huh. That's really weird.

Yeah, it was strange. She's used to using tools around the house and everything, so she was okay with the saw cutting the skull, but she was saying the shaving of the head is what bothered her. Okay. And who knows why? That's really weird. Yeah, again. Thanks, Bob. Appreciate that. Try to get to the bottom of that one. Wow. I'm sure some people have thought of this one. We'll go to Nick. Hi, Nick. Good morning.

Hey, everybody. It's good to see you on the bop-bop-toot-a-bop-toot-bop-bop-a-do-ba-ga-ga-bop-a-dop. Well done. Good. Not bad, Nick. What's up, my man? So listen.

I'm like Steve. I love every single horror movie ever made, every gory thing ever. There's one scene in particular. It's not even a horror movie, but just watching the scene because there's a sound that goes with it that's so visceral it just cuts to it. It's the curb stomping scene in American history. It's one of the most powerful scenes in film and the fact that it switches to black and white. It's awful. It's horrific.

Just the sound, just when Ed Norton just goes, bite the curb, and you just, you see the guy do it, but you hear it just for a split second, the sound of the teeth. Yeah.

Let me ask you. I have something with my teeth. I feel the same way with Marathon Man. Yes. With the teeth, it's just so visceral. I was just going to ask that because Marathon Man, the Nazi is a dentist. Is it safe? He drills live teeth and nerves. Nick, let me ask you this. When the actor is opening, when he goes, put your mouth on the curb,

And the guy opens his mouth and leans in and you see they get really close. Can you feel the concrete on your teeth? I do. It's just like, ooh, it's just like somebody, the back of my spine, I can't watch it. Yeah, I don't blame him. So remember, don't open your mouth when they're... Another thing that's like that, though, too, and it's not a horror movie...

It's in Home Alone when Marv's walking up the steps. Oh, my God. Just the tip of the nail through the foot. Goes through the foot? Oh, yeah. And then the sound of the nail going into the foot. That one's bad. I hate it. Oh, and then also in The Quiet Life or whatever, Quiet Place, she does the same thing. Oh, she steps on the nail and the lawn's going up the staircase. I was watching that movie in the movie theater with my friends, and when she steps on the nail, my friend turns to me and he goes, Nailed it.

I'll tell you this. I don't have a visceral thing with that. I have a funny thing because my friend just gets turned and he just goes, nailed it. Well, there's a great YouTube channel called The Corridor Crew and they dissect special effects and these guys are special effects artists and they took all of the torture scenes from Home Alone and

And dialed him up to 11. So his foot gets split in half. So honestly, if you were to hold a blowtorch to someone's skull, they show you what really would happen. So there's a video. If you go to court or crew, they have the video up. Here's a text from somebody says, the scene they can't watch is in Castaway when Tom Hanks knocks a tooth out of his mouth. With the skate? Yeah. Yeah.

At least you don't see it. It builds to it. I get it. You know what I think is worse, though? There's a scene where he's in the water. He's trying to ride out the first time. The coral? And his thigh goes into the coral. Oh, no! Oh, no.

Oh, that's gnarly. Oh, God. Gnarly is a word I will use over and over for things like this because I can't think of a more descriptive word than that. In the Terrorfire movie, Terrorfire 2, there is one of the, which is legendary, as this Art the Clown is torturing this woman. He goes, basically has shaved her face off. He leaves, but then he comes back in with like a box of salt. Oh, my God. Oh, jeez. I mean...

It's so beyond, beyond. And then the third one, there is a chainsaw attack on two people naked in a shower getting it on. That is, I mean, the chainsaw goes right up between the dude's legs. Is that what you like about those movies? It is so excessive, done with practical effects.

And it is so over the top that I sit there laughing because it's just insane. But what I do love about it is that with both movies is that there is a good and evil. There is a there is there's world building going on. And you are supposed to. It's horrible. But you are. It's supposed to be.

a little amusing, you know? Yeah. Well, listen, there was a time where I got into that too. The time of Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. The kills. Same thing. The kills were about upping it each and every time and how outrageous and ridiculous. And I, I,

I got into it. Yeah. It got old to me after a while. No, I agree. But, um. This is a rebirth. Same type thing, right? And because it's old. And the Saw series was kind of like that too, right? Exactly. I mean, there's so many times. Well, and now the key's in your butthole again. Right. All right. All right. I guess we got to do this again. It's either my butthole or my pee hole. Yeah.

Oh, yeah. Hang on a second. And we're going to have to take a break. We'll stop this poopy talk here in a moment. Let me go to Nick. Hey, Nick, good morning. Hey.

Hey, good morning, Preston. How you doing? Good. What's up, buddy? Hey, I was thinking about Walking Dead because Casey brings it up a lot and how the later seasons weren't that good. But remember that one season where Negan had everyone lined up on the ground? Yeah, yeah. All kneeling and he was doing the eeny, meeny, miny, moe with the bat. Terrific. And he just whacked Abe's head and just kept hitting it until there was nothing left.

And then he did it to Glenn. Remember, the Asian guy. And he whacked his head so hard his eye popped out. Yep. Well, it's so brutal. But I've watched it a few times. It doesn't get any easier. Nick, well, what is also he's still sort of cogent. And the first smash shows skull is caved in and the eyes popped out. But he's still sort of aware of what's going on. Oh, my God. Yeah. They're watching it.

Yeah, it is a powerful scene. Why don't we take a five minute break? So you know what? After that, you can understand why they would gladly accept Negan back into the fold. All right. Thank you, Nick. Appreciate it. That's poopy work. That's poopy talk. One more time. That's poopy work. A final call and it has to do with Terrifier. So I'll go to Bob. Hi, Bob. You're on the air, buddy.

How are you guys doing? Good morning. Good morning. We're wonderful. What's up, Bob? Oh, I agree with you about Art the Clown. Art the Clown can be not only funny, like in the diner scene where he's doing the different poses every time the girl looks at him. Right. Or riding the tricycle and he falls off. But the one scene where he has the girl upside down, naked, with chains on her ankles...

And takes a saw, a hand saw. Yeah, a hacksaw. And while the other girl's watching, he saws her in half from her crotch all the way down to her head. Wow. That's the first big one in Terrifier. And then have you watched the other two films?

Yes, I have. I think the third one wasn't as good, but the one and two were good. Yeah, I love the third one. But I mean, yes, and I'm sure you don't... You can't recommend that broadly to people. You have to say, it may not be your thing. But for those who enjoy it, and it's an homage to Preston, what Preston was exactly talking about, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, where the kills were very... Sleepaway Camp and all that crap. They were...

especially rob zombies halloween is excellent right i'm not such a fan but i uh i agree with you in in theory yes thanks bob appreciate it man all right well that was all poopy talk kathy can't watch what was it on yeah i just it was like the first thing that i had to fast forward through i want to watch that series because i watched the first episode and thought it was great are you enjoying it it's great i love it oh it's another tale of sharon and

Okay. Thank you for chiming in with all your poopy comments. Poopy work. Also, that's the show that I watched halfway through and then realized Demi Moore was in it.

I think she looked so much not like herself that I didn't know it was her. Okay. Wow. We will take a quick break. Come back in a second. Some bizarre, foul stories are headed to you when we return. A woman is recovering after a terrifying incident on Interstate 95.

When a sheet of ice flew off a truck and smashed her windshield, striking her in the face and chest, it went all the way through. Dan DeCesar and his wife, Joanne, were visiting on, I'm sorry, they were driving down 95 South Monday morning when a gust of wind sent a large chunk of ice flying from a tractor trailer ahead of them. By law, they're supposed to remove that ice. That ice.

That is true. DeCesar said it was like four inches thick, probably four feet long. It disappeared over our car, and the bottom of it still managed to hit the windshield and just smashed right through it, and it was like a bomb hit the windshield.

Joanne was hit directly in the chest and face by the ice, sending shards of glass throughout the car. The ice itself, he said, came through like a missile. If it had been a direct hit where it came through with its front tip, she probably would have been dead. Joanne was transported to the hospital. She was treated in a chest...

for chest contusions, a split lip, a head injury, and a bruising across her body. Fortunately, doctors found no signs of concussion or broken bones. The truck driver stopped after DeCesar honked and signaled him to pull over.

He said the truck driver himself admitted, my company cleans the top, but they don't get all of the sides. And he said, I've been telling them for years we need to clean the entire top of the truck. First responders told him two other vehicles on the same stretch of 95 had been struck by ice by that morning, possibly from the same truck. Rhode Island law requires drivers to clear snow and ice from their vehicles before driving and failing to do so can result in fines.

A dolphin trainer whose aquatic student ended up falling in love with her during their lessons has admitted to giving the animal a helping hand when it began to feel aroused. Oh. Yeah, so... You know what I want. The bizarre task was taken on by Margaret Howe Lovett after she began working alongside John Lilly, an American neuroscientist who had...

opened a lab with financial backing from NASA as he sought to nurture closer relationships between humans and dolphins. During her time in the lab, Lovett spent three months living with one particular dolphin named Peter. And she strove to try and achieve one of Lily's dreams, and that was to teach the animals to somehow speak English. You're a whore, Peter. She said, I chose to work with Peter because he had not...

had any human-like sound training and the other two had. The research was scientific, but things became complicated after Lovett realized that Peter was very, very interested in her anatomy. Andy Williamson, who looked after the animal's health, noted that dolphins get sexual urges.

So Lovett initially tried to help Peter by putting him back with two other female dolphins at the facility. However, that became too disruptive. I don't want those bitches. Well, to continue transporting Peter with his female companion. So she took matters into her own hands. She began to relieve Peter herself manually. Whoa.

Uh, speaking at a BBC documentary, she said it was just easier to incorporate that and let it happen. Yes. Say the F word. She said it was very precious. It was very gentle. Uh, Peter was right there. He knew that I was right there. And she went on to explain that, uh, while the act may have been, uh,

sexual on Peter's side. That was not the case for her. However, she added it was sensuous perhaps. She said it would just become part of what was going on, like an itch. Just get rid of it. Scratch it and move on.

And that's really what it was. I was there to get to know Peter, and that was part of Peter. Sorry, Charlie. Peter's getting this round. Though Lovett was still focused on research, she admitted that her encounters with Peter began to overshadow the experiment, particularly when a story about them appeared in Hustler magazine.

You made Hustler. It's a bit uncomfortable. And she said, looking back, she said, the worst experiment in the world I've read somewhere was me and Peter. That's fine. I don't mind. But that was not the point of it, nor the result of it. So I just ignore it. Man. But she used to give handies to a dolphin. Is that technically crossing the line? I don't know. When you're giving hand jobs to a dolphin? I don't know. I mean, don't they do that on farms all the time for...

I think that's for pleasure. Yeah, not for pleasure. I'm going to go. I got some time to kill. Police in Ireland are investigating the circumstances around the discovery of a human hand at a school in North Dublin. And it's believed the body part, which was badly decomposed, had been dropped by a bird into the schoolyard around 1030 a.m. So the bird ate the rest of the body? Maybe that's it. And he just couldn't bring it to himself to finish it. Yeah.

There were no children in the schools. It was closed for midterm break. Detectives checked video in the area and the scene was technically examined before the hand was removed for a forensic examination. Forensic Science Ireland will carry out DNA tests to seek the identity of the person involved. Now, the police said they are keeping an open mind and will pursue any lines of inquiry. There's no indication of anything sinister at this stage. A hand could have been carried by seabirds from the coast.

And detectives will also check the missing persons register. They also said they're making inquiries as part of the investigation reports that a child in North Dublin sustained serious hand injuries the night before. They believe the child was injured when a nitrous oxide canister exploded. Okay, so it's a smaller children's hand? I don't know. Okay. They're

liaising with the hospital where the child is being treated and also seeking a DNA test to see if it matches for some reason. All right, and then finally one more story and we will wrap it up. Let's go with this one.

So fire trucks, engines and other apparatuses are bright red for a reason. But that doesn't seem to matter when a train crosses paths and the railroad tracks. It doesn't matter. Last December, a Brightline commuter train crashed into a fire truck as it crossed a set of railroad tracks in South Florida. The fire ladder truck's engineer behind the wheel, David Wyatt,

was stopped at the crossing while responding to a structure fire. Wyatt waited for a train to pass before attempting to drive around the still-deployed crossing gates. Oh, boy. However, Wyatt didn't see a Brightline commuter train approaching the crossing right after the first train passed. And at 80 miles an hour, the commuter trainer didn't have much room to stop. As a result, the Brightline train slammed into the firefighter.

And his crew. And now we're looking at video footage of this now. And yeah, the train catches the tip, the back end of it. Now police have issued Wyatt a citation for the event after conducting an investigation and produced a 70-page report. Sheriff's office found that Wyatt had not exercised due care while responding to the reports of the fire and crossing incident.

So they sent a fire truck to take care of that situation and it got hit as well. So luckily no one perished in the crash. The event injured 15 people including three firefighters but no one was killed. It's miraculous. A locomotive moving at 80 miles an hour? Yeah, hitting a fire truck and that...

See, this is Monday's going by quickly. It's going to be over before you know it. Next thing you know, we'll be on the...

Hills Montage Mountain. Getting ready for Cardboard Classic. And it'd be around this time that we start to mosey out onto the deck and address the crowd and try to get everybody in an organized fashion to get ready and send those things down. It's an animal of its own making. And at some point, we kind of lose...

all sense of control. But we try. We try very hard. We exert as much as we can and then at a certain point we just become spectators ourselves. That's kind of my favorite part. Let's just watch this whole thing unfold. But that's on Friday. So if you haven't gotten a place to stay yet, you better move on that now and get yourself ready to come out and be there for the event. I'd say make a weekend out of it.

because you should. Mountain Fest going on at Montage. And they, honestly, that's the reason why we went a little bit earlier this time because they had everything all set up for this weekend and the bill and everything they have going on up there is amazing. By the way, go to President Steve's Instagram page if you want to see the unveiling of our outfits that we're going to wear on Friday morning and afternoon. I'm excited about these. Yeah, yeah, definitely. You didn't,

those, Case? That was from Tipsy Elves. Tipsy Elves, that's it. Yeah, they did last year and then new year we have a new look. You didn't seem so excited mid-heat stroke on Friday. These things are warm. That's what they're made for. That's what they're made for. They're made for the snow. Not for dancing inside a temperature controlled studio? No, no, no, not at all. So that's on our Instagram account if you want to see that. Alright, lesson question time. We are

Going to give away a pair of tickets for the Philadelphia Union home opener. It's on Saturday, March 1st against FC Cincinnati. And if you answer this question correctly, you can win those tickets. It is as follows. Who is directing Kathy's epic foot video for OnlyFans? 215-263-WMMR. There's a director, a very professional director.

who is directing Kathy's epic foot video for OnlyFans. If you heard that mention, it was around 7.20 this morning. Call now, 215-263-WMMR. While you're trying to get through, we'll do this. The trash business is a gold mine.

93.3 WMMR with Preston and Steve's Hollywood Trash. All right, we'll get the stories before we get the callers. What's going on this morning, Steve? Well, Eric Menendez admitting to Harvey Levin, excuse me, on his Two Angry Men podcast that he was a spoiled brat growing up. Eric admits that he rarely ever cleaned up his room and once even murdered his parents. Wow.

Mariah Carey posting a series of pics featuring her in a skin tight, almost see-through outfit and stiletto heels hitting a bucket of balls at Topgolf. Carey says Topgolf is her favorite place to go and unwind while dressed like a hooker. And finally, an ex-girlfriend of Scott Disick claiming he tried to pressure her into getting huge breast and butt implants. It was incredibly insulting and demeaning, said primatologist Jane Goodall. Done.

And that's your highlight track. All right. We'll see if you know the answer to the question. Who's directing Kathy's epic foot video for OnlyFans? And it's Justin who wants to take a crack at it. Hey, Justin, good morning. Good morning. All right. Who's going to direct Kathy's foot video? Christopher Nolan. Yes, Christopher Nolan. Why not? Oppenheimer was a hit. Woo!

All right, Justin, hang on. We're going to set you up with a pair of tickets for the Philadelphia Union home opener. Saturday, March 1st against FC Cincinnati, 7.30 p.m. Football season ends and football season starts. Tickets are on sale now. Preston and Steve's Music View on 93.3 WMMR. Yeah! Yeah!

All right, a couple things in music news. We'll start with this. A mystery that's been surrounding Dave Grohl for months is solved. A young woman by the name of Jennifer Young of Florida says that Dave Grohl is the mother of her seven-month-old daughter. While Jennifer has asked that the baby's name not be revealed, it's reportedly been confirmed that the baby's last name is Grohl. Well, there you go. And was born on August 1st. So, yeah, whatever you think of...

and what has happened here with the infidelity and all that stuff, he did come forward and say, this child is going to be a part of my life. And he's also apparently a very good barbecue preparer. So he makes good ribs and he knows how to work a smoker. So that will be perfect for a doting dad. Grohl's rep hasn't responded to a request for comment on the reveal, but friends of the tattooed music fan

were reportedly surprised by the revelation, with one saying, I feel like she was more into Gwen Stefani than the Foo Fighters. Well, she missed the mark. Yeah. So Young has no public social media accounts. There hasn't been much in the way of additional details so far.

Dave married his wife, Jordan Bloom, in 2003 and shares three daughters with her. So initially when this story came out, we got the impression that this had been sort of a multi-year thing going. Is that still the projection or is this more a one-night fling? I don't remember that. Yeah, but this has been an ongoing, like at least over a year, maybe two years, a side action. But this, it doesn't sound that way with this. No, you're right, Steve. It was an ongoing relationship. Okay. Yeah. Okay.

And then finally, Counting Crows set to release a new album, Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets. That's what it's going to be called, and it's supposed to come out later this year. Ahead of its release, the band has dropped their first single in five years. It's called Spaceman in Tulsa. And frontman Adam Durrett said that the track is about metamorphosis, the way music breaks down who we were and spins us into something new. It's about broken lives becoming something better.

And Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets, will come out on May 9th, by the way. Can you hear it? Yeah, definitely. Sounds familiar. Yeah. It's more a cover, I think. All right, and that is what I have in music news for you. We're going to take a break. We're going to come back in a second and wrap up the show. Word of the Week, praise. I'll tell you about it when we get back. Stay with us.

to book yours today. Just real quick. I keep meaning to throw it out. But I don't want to just put it in the trash can. I want to put it in the trash can the day before the trash people come because I don't want to have it sit there for three or four days. See, I would probably put it in the sink and just run water over it. I was thinking about doing that too, Casey. I don't know if it would be bad for the sink or not. I figure this time of year I could just put it in the trash can. What time is it?

Whatever the one that Preston got was. Like vanilla. It's a flavor that I created. Yes. So it was vanilla almond pound cake. Yes. And it's really good. I thought so. You just don't need 12 gallons of it. But that's what they do at these sessions. You get to create your own flavors. Great stuff. And just their regular flavors are tremendous. Mm-hmm.
