And now, Kristen and Steve's news update. Today is Thursday, June 26th. Good morning. We'll start with this story. A jury has convicted Miles Pfeffer on all charges in the murder of Temple University Police Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald during a struggle near the school's campus.
Back in February of 2023. Pfeffer's trial lasted three days and the jury came back with a guilty verdict after only a few hours of deliberations. Sergeant Fitzgerald was on patrol in 2023 when police say he tried to stop three young people in dark clothing due to recent robberies and carjackings in the area. He was alone at the time and Pfeffer was accused of shooting Fitzgerald.
Three times during a struggle and three more times after he collapsed to the ground. Allegedly, Pfeffer fled the shooting by carjacking another car and eventually ditching the vehicle several blocks away. Pfeffer was arrested the next day in Bucks County and charged with murder, homicide of a law enforcement officer, evading arrest, and other crimes. During his arrest, investigators were able to seize several firearms, including one they found badly burned in a fire pit.
The prosecution said surveillance video, which played several times in court, was able to show the struggle between Fitzgerald and Pfeffer. And it shows Pfeffer shoot him three times, which caused him to collapse, and then three more times as he was on the ground. It's just horrific. After the fatal shooting, the prosecution says Pfeffer went through Sergeant Fitzgerald's pockets, then carjacked the passing car.
Richard Allen Adamski of Warminster was taken into custody yesterday morning after officials say he was in possession of child sexual abuse materials. District Attorney Jennifer Shorn announced the arrest of longtime Catholic school teacher and youth sports coach from Warminster Township and the arrest comes after a tip
to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and it initiated an investigation back on March 30th. The report indicated that an image depicting a prepubescent female posing nude was uploaded using a reverse image search via an IP address.
The investigation then traced that IP address back to Adamski at his address in Warminster. Yesterday, while federal and local law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant at Adamski's home, he was present. And during the questioning, officials say he admitted that for approximately four to five years, he had been searching for, downloading, and saving hundreds of images to his computer, according to the criminal complaint. When asked how many he saved, he replied, two.
too many. According to the criminal complaint, Adamski is employed as a teacher at Nativity of our Lord Catholic School in Warminster and also coaches youth sports at the school.
And on a much lighter note, yesterday, USA Today once again announced Philadelphia as the most walkable city to visit in the country. Well, we got that, right? We have that one. Yes. The city earned the top spot for the third consecutive year, selected by a panel of travel experts and voted on by the public. Walkability is a key factor in how people choose where to go, especially for travelers and tourists.
Angela Val, the president and CEO of Visit Philadelphia, said earning this title for the third consecutive year affirms what we've always known. Philadelphia is city best experienced on foot. It's a reflection of how seamlessly our neighborhoods, culture, and sense of community connect across the city. That ease of exploration helps visitors feel a deeper connection and inspires them to return again and again. A panel of experts selected 20 American cities based on pedestrian accessibility, proximity of hotels and attractions,
as well as overall ease of exploration. And Philly earned the number one ranking through the public voting beating out cities like New York City, Boston, and Chicago. And those are great walking cities. They are. I wonder how that overall statistically impacts tourism. So obviously you bump this out to get people aware of this, but do people go, I'm looking for a really walkable city? You know what? Maybe. Because when you do travel somewhere, the less you are...
in the car. Climbing around all over the place as far as, you know, having to take mass transit and stuff like that. I think it's appealing. I started thinking about it more and more. Do you? Yeah, and part of the reason why is I visited Boston earlier this spring and I remembered and realized how walkable it was. Yeah. This is really nice and I was able to walk everywhere in that city and then I get back to Philly and I'm like, oh yeah, we can do that here too. It's a good reminder. The things that,
One of the things I like to do on vacation, I'll pick up extra money as a streetwalker. Oh. So that does figure into my calculus. Streetwalkers, one of the oldest professions. Absolutely. And noble. And noble. But you know what I will do, Steve, when we plan trips to go somewhere...
If not the destination within wherever we're going, I'll try to find an area that is easily walkable. Like, there's a couple spots in D.C. We're like, okay, we'll stay here. That way we can walk to A, B, C, and D. You know what I mean? Or walk to the metro. Yeah. The center city, Philadelphia, corridor spans from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River on the west and only...
a little more than two miles separate Penn's Landing from the Schuylkill River Trail. And you can walk from one end of Center City to the other in under an hour. And when the Wall Street Journal ranked 30 of the country's largest convention centers, the Pennsylvania Convention Center was number one for walkability. How about that? What ranked the lowest? Do they mention it? I don't know. I don't have the full list, but we'll have to take a look. Some desert town somewhere? I would think so. Juneau, Alaska? Juneau, yeah. All right. In sports this morning. All right.
All sacks are yoving. All sacks are yoving. What the f*** is this? All right, Nick, lay it on us.
The Phillies lost again, and they were once again shut out. What the f*** is that? They fell to the Astros 2-0 last night in Houston. The Phillies haven't scored a run since Sunday's 7-1 win over the Mets. Victor Caratini, Homer, and Isaac Paredes drove in a run as the Astros shut out the Phillies for the second straight game. Houston starter Colton Gordon allowed four singles and struck out four in five innings, and Josh Hader struck out one in the ninth for his 21st save on the season. The series wraps up this afternoon. Christopher Sanchez will get the start of the first pitch.
is scheduled for 210. After a terrible season in which Joel Embiid only played a handful of games before needing knee surgery, the Sixers were rewarded with the third pick in last night's NBA draft. The team selected Baylor guard B.J. Edgecombe. He was a part of the Bahamian national team last summer alongside multiple current NBA players, and he's an impressive 19-year-old guard who could be a strong complement to Tyrese Maxey in the Sixers backcourt. Meanwhile, Ace Bailey, who had been
projected for most of the season as the third overall pick. He ended up falling to the Utah Jazz at number five. The Rutgers star had a chaotic pre-draft process, which included canceling a meeting with the Sixers. Well, this is promising, Nick, because they came so close last year.
Last time. Right, yeah. I think we just need a little bit more to get him over the line. Look, I mean, it's trite to say, but if they stay healthy this year. Stay healthy. Trust the process. They'll be a much better team. The Union won again, which is good news. They beat Chicago Fire FC last night in the Windy City. Bruno Damiani's 10th minute pitch.
10th minute penalty kick ended up as being the only goal in the Union's 1-0 win. The victory extended the Union's club record unbeaten streak to 11 matches. They've gone 8-0-3 in that stretch, and the streak has lifted the Union to a record of 12-3-4, good for 40 points, which is the best record in MLS. The next match will be in Ohio on Sunday. They'll face Columbus Crew, and the match is set to begin at 6 o'clock and...
Your Philadelphia Eagles are still the Super Bowl champs. Yeah. And that's what I have for you in sports this morning. All right. Thank you very much, Nick. Appreciate it. And look who's doing the walk of shame this morning. Casey Boyd just strolling up to our broadcast area as we sit here in Chocolate Town. That's the part of the park where we are situated today. We are in the shadows of the Kendamonium roller coaster, which I have not seen.
ridden yet. I'm dying to get on it. It is the tallest, fastest coaster that you're going to find here, over 200 feet tall in that first drop. And we're adjacent to the iconic carousel. Beautiful. I was strolling over this morning in the pre-dawn hours and I gazed at Milton Hershey's statue as I walked through the park. You know, you can't help but
feel the history and majesty of Hershey Park. Yeah, you had told me that they, obviously, they'd redone the whole entrance, and the setup now is amazing. When you walk in, it's just beautiful. Yeah.
There's something about the promise of the energy of a park like Hershey in the morning and seeing everybody get around the park and take care of various things. But to just see the park as the sun is rising is something that's pretty magnificent. Yeah, so the inspectors are doing their work on the rides. I was told on the way over that they have an interesting way to do it now is they use drones to fly along the tracks and make sure that everything is safe. Everything has to be safety inspected.
before the park opens. But in years past, the way they would do it, Steve, is they would have to climb up on those things and they would use binoculars and all kinds of stuff to do the safety inspections. But now they can get it done quicker and more efficient. And it's just a cool, you don't think about those jobs, you know? No, there's a whole thing that's taking place behind the scenes. And to see everybody taking care of the business so that you can have a wonderful time here is pretty impressive.
So as people walk into the park, we're going to be one of the first things they see. So we're right here at the entrance. So if you're making it out to Hershey Park today, you won't be able to miss a swing on by. Please come say hello. We invited 500 of our closest friends to join us today. So we should have a wonderful crowd this morning as we get things underway at Hershey. So we're excited for the day. We're going to meet some people at the park.
the park. We're going to see some animals from the Zoo America, and we'll obviously talk to some of our winners. We have some contests and games and stuff like that. Bottom line is, we're having a good time today. We're in one of the greatest amusement parks you're ever going to be at. So, let's take a break. We'll come back in a second. We'll do the business stuff. We'll get into the entertainment report and stupid question, but we are live at Hershey Park, so stay with us this morning on MMR. MMR.

A bug flew up my nose. All right. My nose. All right. So what are we talking about? Now, I think I got it out. Oh, boy. But I'm not 100% sure. It's probably dead and rotting in my nasal cavity as we speak. But that was a little bonus. Well, my guess is it's on the way to your heart. Oh, okay. Yeah. Taking a little tour of the body. A little tour of the body. So if all of a sudden you hear me make some kind of weird noise that...
I found out the bug is indeed alive. Isn't that a joy? It's just the best. I'll tell you what, though. It is beautiful here. I don't know why I'm plumbing so much. I apologize. But the look of the park, everything is just gorgeous. And there's a guy who goes around like surgically watering all the flowers. Did you see the vehicle going around? Like with precision, he pulled in here and got these flowers.
Just to make everything look lovely. They have every detail covered here at Hershey Park. So we're excited for the day. And it is going to be, yeah, a toasty, comfy summer day. And, of course, thankfully they have a water park here. Like a bad-ass water park that you can participate in or partake upon. Make sure you do that. All right. Stupid question. I have no idea what we're giving away. But we're going to have some kind of a prize for you if you can answer this question correctly. Casey is going to get that information for me in a moment.
Here's what I ask you. What was Milton Hershey's wife Catherine's nickname? 610-660-9333. Let's see if you know the answer. Jeff knows it. He's raising his hand over here. Yes. He works at the park. He ought to know it. What was Milton Hershey's wife Catherine's nickname? Call if you know the answer. And for the correct answer, we'll give away a $50 Keystone Fireworks gift card.
And let's see if you can get that. We'll go through some birthdays while we await your answer today being the 26th day of June. We will start with, okay, actor Robert Davi. Yes. Who in the Goonies, he is the Fratelli brother that sings, sings the opera. We've had him on the show a few times. He's great. Yep. He also wears the world's worst toupee right now.
Does he? Oh, my God. It looks like a lettuce leaf. Oh, that's horrible. Bad. It's so bad, but I love the guy. I'm sorry. Is that cabbage on your head? Sir, you didn't finish your salad. You're wearing it on your head. He's also a terrific Bond villain in License to Kill. I do remember I was a little disappointed when we had him in the studio and we asked him if he would... You remember when Chunk...
stops the car. He's like, you gotta help us. It's this group of these horrible, hideous people, the Fratellis. And he starts singing in Italian.
He wouldn't do it for us, but that's all good. He is 74 years old today. Ah, the great Sean Hayes is a year older. He is celebrating his 55th birthday. He really broke out in Will and Grace. Do you know he's like a top-level producer now? He has a number of shows on TV. His production company is producing. And here's a little factoid. I didn't know this. In 2001, he saved a man's life after he had been shot and robbed.
He never sought publicity after this act of kindness, and apparently the victim made sure that people knew that story, but Sean didn't want to really say, hey, I saved this guy's life, but I was not familiar with that. I found out later the reason for that was that it was Sean himself who had shot and robbed the man, so he wanted to keep it quiet. No, yeah, he's apparently a really great guy. 55 years old today. Jeanette McCurdy, who was on iCarly, and Salmon Cat is 33. I read her
book. Didn't she give up entertainment? Isn't she out of the business now? Yep, she's done with it. Her book was titled I'm Happy My Mom Is Dead, which is pretty wild. Her mother was verbally abusive to her and really taught her some bizarre...
ways about life. I mean, like, she was hyper-focused on weight, and she was a typical stage mom, and pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing, and she had an unhealthy relationship with food, and she pushed that onto Jeanette, and so it led her to have some serious mental issues as well. Did you see the Brooke Shields documentary? Because over the course of years, you remember, they called her mother, like the mother
like a mominger type. Yeah. And, uh, apparently it was much worse than we ever knew. Like she had the same kind of mom who was just on her all the time. Yep. And it's, it's wild because, uh,
Because in the book, her mother ended up dying from cancer. But it's not like, even though with the title, I'm Happy My Mama's Dead, she didn't hate her mother per se. She still had love for her. But it was this complex relationship. Should the title have been, I'm Pleasantly Surprised My Mother's Dead? Not surprised. I'm pleasantly delighted. I'm pleasantly delighted. Maybe. I don't know. It's like it's a relief.
Yes, that I can see. But she also did not like the abuse that she went through. So there's part of that, too. All right. Chris O'Donnell has his birthday today. He's 55 years old today. Scent of a Woman, obviously a big hit for him. Grey's Anatomy, NCIS Los Angeles, Batman and Robin. Yes. So he turns 55. It's also Nick Offerman's birthday today. He is. What is he? He's in a new movie. He's the voice in a new animated movie. Yeah, he is, Stephen. He's the narrator in The Life of Chuck.
Oh, is he? He's also in the latest Mission Impossible movie. And he's been doing this work with this company called Woodworks in Los Angeles. And they're doing incredible stuff. He's a really talented carpenter. And so they hire homeless vets. Oh, that's great. And get jobs and learn a trade as carpenters. And he sort of spearheaded this entire thing. So, Preston, on Parks and Rec, he was this woodworking thing. Obviously, he incorporated the hobby into his career.
into his character and they're going to this, somehow they end up at this woodworking convention and he is nervous to meet this guy Nick who like made a lathe or something he goes, I'm sure he gets this all the time and as we said before in The Last of Us he's absolutely terrific
55 years old today. It's Aubrey Plaza's birthday as well. Another Parks and Rec alum. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Lots of other things. She is 41 years old and going through a tragedy with her husband taking his own life. That was just beyond me how you get past something like that. She's in that new movie with Margaret Qualley, too. It's kind of a quirky Coen Brothers detective story.
41 years old today. Jason Schwartzman, also turning a year older. We love that guy. Anytime we've had a chance to talk to him, it's just been a wonderful conversation. He turns 45, Rushmore, Grand Budapest Hotel. Yeah, he's... Coppola adjacent. Yep, yep, exactly. It's his uncle, is Francis Ford Coppola. His mom's Talia Shire. Yeah, that's right.
Ariana Grande turns a year older as well. Wait, Sam and Kat celebrate the same day? I'm glad you picked up on that case because that would have totally missed it. I love that stuff because I always think, like, what if they were shooting on the, like, what did they do when they shot? Oh, wouldn't that be embarrassing? On their birthday, yeah. If the birthday cookie comes in and she starts cutting into it, but it's not for her. Not for her.
Oh, that could be an episode. Ariana is one year younger than Jeanette McCurdy, so she is 32. Chris Isaac has his birthday today. Always liked that guy. Does he perform a lot? I never see him coming around. That's a good question. I would guess that he still tours and performs all around the world, but I don't know, Steve. I always mix him up with Morrissey.
Chris Isaac and Morrissey? Yeah, do they look... A little bit. A little bit. Just a little bit. The one difference is that Chris Isaac enjoys being alive. Yeah. Yeah. But he's great. 69 years old today. The Clash's Mick Jones celebrates his 70th birthday today. Does he make audio dynamite too? Yeah. Yeah.
Was that him? I believe he was. Okay. 70 years old. The band Berlin, lead singer Terry Nunn. She turned 64 years old today. I had a big time crush on her back in the day. She was an MTV darling, that band. The Metro, that was the first song I remember seeing from them and going, wow, they're kind of wild looking. And they're taking my breath away, right? They didn't write that song, though. That one was a hit that was written for them to perform. So they didn't love that.
I hate that song. I've always... That...
Right. I don't like it. I was a child when Top Gun came out and the quote-unquote sex scene between Maverick and Kelly McGillis, that song's playing underneath. That, for how old I was, might as well have been porn. By the way, did you see them touching tongues? Uh-huh.
That sex scene is basically him falling asleep on her. That's what he does. He treats her like a mattress. Terry Nunn is 64. And then another... These are all people I've crushed on. Patti Smythe. Yeah. Of Scandal. I had...
I really was in love with her. Currently married to John McEnroe, right? They've been married since 1997. Yeah, they're a long-time couple, and she turns 68 years old today. Happy birthday, everybody, turning a year older on the 26th day of June. All right, we're going to go to the phone and see if we can get an answer to this question. What was Milton Hershey's wife Catherine's nickname?
Nickname, and the caller that we're going to go to, I believe, is Rob. Now, let's see, first of all, if Rob can hear me or not. We always test this out on our first phone call. Rob, good morning. Are you there? Can you hear me, bud? I'll take that as a no. All right, Rodney says hold on. Ah, there we go. Hey, Rob, can you hear me? Hey, sorry to bother you guys at work. It's all good, man. We're working at Hershey Park. I love it. So what was Catherine's nickname, Catherine Hershey's nickname?
So I was going to say pussy, but that's what Brian and Joey are. Those guys suck, am I right? Oh, it's you. What's the answer? It's kitty. Kitty is correct. Yes, hang on. And by the way, friends at Hershey Park, I can't, you know, I think it was the listener. I wouldn't have said that. All right, so we're going to set up Rob, who is now our...
Most frequent caller, $50 Keystone Fireworks gift card. Keystone Fireworks superstores are loaded with mortars, rockets, firecrackers, and all the biggest and best backyard pyro. You can see their newest superstore at the Franklin Mills Mall or visit them online at keystonefireworks.com. That's why I told him to call tomorrow. Call back tomorrow. But he didn't. By the way, I watched again, pressed in the Milton Hershey documentary last night.
It is awesome. By the way, the History Channel did it. You can find it on demand. So check it out. Yeah, it's really, really good. All right, we're going to start with Martin Kove. Cobra Kai, Karate Kid. His co-star, Alicia Hanna Kim, we told you this. He had bit
her at a Washington fan convention, and she wasn't having it. And there is police body cam footage that's been obtained by TMZ where you can see her. She called Kovout hard, saying that he beat her arm so hard that he nearly drew blood, and then he tried to kiss it. And she told the officers he insisted that he bit me for fun, but she said it crossed the line, even joking that if he were a younger man, she would have knocked him out.
As we told you before, he was booted out of the event and nearly arrested, although Alicia ultimately decided not to press charges. Did you see this footage? I did. And he like clamps down hard? I didn't see the bite. Oh, all right. The footage is her confronting him afterwards. It's body cam footage from the police, and she's just saying, dude, that is not cool. She was just calling him out on it. So she did request a formal police report.
and had photos taken for it with police calling it very noticeable. Cove later issued a public apology saying, I deeply regret and apologize for my actions. He didn't mention Chris Agon or the skull sealer in either one of them. I wonder if he's going to, you know, apparently there are a couple things that are coming to light now. They're digging into his past, some indiscretion. So I wonder if he's going to go through a period now where he's dealing with that. Maybe. Possible. He might have eaten a couple of co-stars. Okay.
In the latest chapter in the contentious split between Scott and Kelly Wolf, the former party of Five Star has filed a restraining order against his wife. According to court records, Scott filed for a temporary restraining order on Tuesday. Wolf also filed a declaration as part of his request. Another declaration was filed by Michael Wolf, which is the name of one of Scott's brothers. So no other details were made available.
The courtroom documents filed in Utah are apparently sealed, but that continues to... Yeah, man. You know, and we just had him in. He was a great guest. Very nice. Plus, he didn't mention anything. Yeah, you figured he'd open up to us and say, I'm having problems with the missus. You guys seem like a show that I can really relate to. You know, we should get them and her and Martin Cove together. Yeah. Maybe that's a match made in heaven. Listen, he's going to bite your wife's arm, and I think you can talk things out while she's screaming.
Kim Kardashian is expanding her on-screen resume, getting her start in reality television. She has since starred in the Paw Patrol movies. Thank you. Along with roles in American Horror Story Delicate. And in the near future, she'll lead the Netflix comedy The Fifth Wheel and will appear in Ryan Murphy's new drama All Is Fair. But it was announced yesterday that she'll be taking on her biggest non-reality role yet as the villain in the upcoming movie.
Bratz movie. Oh, my God. That's got to be very demanding. But actually, I think that's good casting, you know, for the Bratz movie. Those characters always, to me, seem kind of snooty. So I know they were the big thing for a while. Yeah. They were never a thing in my house, so I didn't tell you anything about them. Were they too slutty? Too slutty? No. You know, the kids just never took it. Yeah. Yeah.
So, no, the casting news or plot points have been released at this point. Kim is also producing the film on top of that. I had heard that she'd signed on to play Indira Gandhi, but I didn't know if that was actually... I don't know what led down this path, but in the UHF movie with Weird Al Yankovic, I had forgotten. We were talking about movies yesterday. Right.
It led me on an Instagram path to, in that movie, in UHF, they had a fake movie, which was Gandhi 2. Oh, my God. Oh, yeah, yeah, Gandhi 2. I do remember that. He's like an assassin. He's got a machine, like completely, like a passive resistance and peaceful approach to life, and he completely abandoned it. Sometimes it doesn't work. Yeah, yeah. I need to go back.
and see that movie again because the only thing I remember from it is Weird Al was putting up the schedule for the TV shows and one was called Fun With Dirt. So, I need to go back and see if it's a good movie. Odd as I remember it to be. So, Demi Lovato recognizes the importance of being able to prepare a good meal. I thought
She announced yesterday that she'll be helping fans do just that with her upcoming cookbook called One Plate at a Time, Recipes for Finding Freedom with Food. Well, I mean, listen, she's had weight issues, right? I don't know. Has she? Yeah, I think. What are you saying? No, I'm just saying that this is, you know, maybe a healthy way to live. It's not a weight thing. I think what she saw, she saw Selena Gomez have a massive success with her cookbook. Watch it.
Watch it be all pies and cakes and stuff. Monkey bread. 200 different ways to make monkey bread. The cookbook will include over 80 recipes and in a press release, Lovato said that the recipes were, quote, all created to emphasize enjoyment over perfection, adding this is a cookbook for people who struggle to enjoy food without guilt and
And for anyone looking for a gentler, more grounded approach to cooking, the cookbook comes out on March 31st. Blue's Clues star Steve Burns isn't quite done talking to 90s kids. Well, those kids are adults now, and he is, of course, older, too. And I know a gazillion people have this, but he's launching a podcast called
It's going to be called Alive, and it will tackle the idea of adulting and what it means to stay human in a complicated world. This is wild because I know he's working on the movie now, Young John Rambo. Oh, yeah.
He said there are a thousand podcasts you can listen to. This is one that listens back. He said, I really want to continue what we started decades ago. Alive is really just a continuation of that same conversation, only now we're grown-ups trying to make sense of a world that's a whole lot more. What are you trying to do over there? Sounds like Rambo music. Rambo music. But it's not playing? No. I hear it. I can hear it. It's merely for our enjoyment. I think it's coming out of your computer, so hold the microphone up to your computer.
This will set the mood. Now it ended. I don't know where it's going. Get a new computer. Batten 1000. Okay. It worked earlier. Now I hear it again. Yeah, but it's not coming through our headphones. It's coming out of something. Something. Where's that sound coming from? It is coming out of the computer. Yeah, it's coming straight out of your monitor. Nick, just hum it. Maybe it's this monitor. I don't know. All right. Well, anyway.
So he has a podcast and he said, there it is. Rodney did it. Rodney fixed it. Right when the song ended. There we go.
Now we got our Rambo. Rodney's the man. Rodney, Rodney, he's the man. If he can't do it, no one can. So he said, we're trying to make sense of a world that's a whole lot more complicated. The podcast will launch this fall, by the way. The widowed husband of late actor Suzanne Somers has found love again. And it's for someone his late wife knew well.
Alan Hamill is dating actor Joanna Cassidy, a former co-star of Superman's. Yeah, you would recognize her, Preston, if you saw her. She's been in a ton of stuff. She's actually, I believe she's in Blade Runner, the original Blade Runner. Hang on a second. What are you doing? We're hearing Rambo music. Rambo, it's not playing. Oh.
Is that you, Nick? That was me. That was Nick. What the hell's going on here? I'm trying to hum it for Steve. Going back to the last story. All right. So, Steve, where would I know her from? What did you say? I'm sorry. I was listening to Rambo. Listen, it's like you're called away. Wait a second. Rambo's calling me. Wait a second. I'm going to psychically communicate with Preston right now. Come to me.
No, the movie Blade Runner. She was in that. Could you check quickly, Nick, when you're done listening to Rambo? See if Joanna Cassidy was in the movie Blade Runner. And she's a character actress. I guarantee you'd recognize her. So, Alan had said, I don't know where this relationship is going. He added that he's known her for decades. The two were spotted arm-in-arm in Malibu on Monday. Summers and Cassidy both appeared on...
In the 1980s TV film Hollywood Wives. Yes, of course. And of course, Summers died in 2023 from cancer. But Hamill says his late wife would approve, having told him before her passing to move on with life, don't mope around, live your life. So they went on a date last night and they had an orchestra playing the music of Rambo while they ran the movies. So she was in Blade Runner, Steve. She was also in Six Feet Under. Oh, yes. She played Margaret for 21 episodes. All right. Continues to work.
Which one of your wife's friends would she be most okay with you marrying? Banging? Yeah. On a regular basis? Yeah. Rochelle actually... Not that very thing, but she brought up the other day. We were swimming. We were having a nice day. Uh-huh. And then it turned into...
would you ever marry someone if I died? And I'm like, whoa! You know that question, you know, you'd never answer that question. Well, she didn't outright ask it. She said, I don't know what you would do if I go first. And she started to head down this path. Well, if I didn't die from grief right away, hon, I don't know. I go, hey, that's not on my mind at all. And then I told her, I don't think about that. I don't think I could find anybody else who would
jibe with me like she would. But anyway, who of her friends would I like to bang? No, no, no. Who would she approve of you banging in her...
Wow. Lots of people probably. I think she'd be okay with a bunch of them. Okay, good. But I don't know. I can't guess out loud. How about you? No, I'm not going to answer my question. There you go. You were going to set him up to take the fall without supplying the answer yourself. That is a no-win. And then the only thing to do is to flip it around. Well, let me ask you. Yeah. And that will kill the conversation. Yeah, exactly. Unless she has an immediate answer, it would be Roy. Right. What? What? Roy.
Roy? Roy? I never met Roy. Who is this Roy, Carol? Roy, he comes when you're at work. All right, Beverly Hills 90210 star Jenny Garth is branching out. She announced yesterday that she has a new book on the way. It's called I Choose Me. It's an appreciation of the music of Rambo. It's named after her podcast and is billed as part inspirational memoir, part motivational advice. Oh, God.
The book aims to empower women to choose a path of health, healing, and happiness, Garth said. Not for anything, but you just reeled off about three or four new podcasts. I know. That are all... It teaches you to appreciate garlic. Yeah. You know... When you enter into these things, I assume they're not expecting to have...
Kelsey Brothers success. Who can possibly... Because there's half a million separate podcasts. Steve, you and I were talking about one a few months ago because there was a host and it's escaping me. Christine Taylor.
Ben Stiller's wife. Ben Stiller's wife. And so I contacted their producer because it was like, you know, this is a good reason to talk to Christine Taylor, right? They went on hiatus. They've not returned. They've not returned. So, Preston, this is Ben Stiller's wife talking about 90s sitcoms and shows that they all participated in. Relatable stuff. Right. Relative stuff. They couldn't get an audience. Yeah, I'm...
I'm tired of hearing about podcasts. Yeah, enough. It's just overwhelming. All right, anyhow, she's got a book out, and this is Jenny Garth, and she will not only write the book, but will be voicing the audio version of it as well, and that will be sold on April 14th. I thought this was a pretty interesting story. Leanne Rimes, a country singer, has recalled a recent concert mishap which saw her lose her front teeth
in the middle of a show. I've been there. Yep. She was performing at the Skagit Valley Casino and Resort in Bow, Washington over the weekend when she said she felt something pop in her mouth. And she explained to fans that she's had a lot of dental surgeries. And she said, and I have a bridge in the front and it fell out while I was singing. She said, to which I panicked and in the middle said, hold on. I ran to the side of the stage, put it back in, just popped it back in.
Yeah.
I have in my song. You become acutely aware. She's whistling and she's... The Fs, the Ths, and the Shs. And she said, especially the song Can't Fight the Moonlight. She said, I can't fight the moonlight. And they like completely again fell out of my mouth. I can't fight the moonlight.
Well, of course, I had a tooth fall out while sucking on a straw live on the... I completely understand this. But, yeah, apparently it was like a whole... A number of teeth together, like a bridge or something. It was a bridge. Yeah. She said it was the most...
epic experience ever. She said, I usually don't have firsts in my career. That was a first and hopefully a last and I hope my teeth stay in tonight. We shall see. And she issued a warning to the front row audience telling them to get ready for something to fly out. She said, if you catch them, please return them. Do you remember that time Barbara Streisand was performing in concert and an artificial arm fell off? Yeah. Wow. It
It was crazy. I can't believe that eluded me. Let's see. Dennis Villeneuve is set to direct the next James Bond film. So I'm very excited about that. He said, some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007. To me, he's sacred territory. Villeneuve shares in a statement saying, I intend to
To honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. He's known for his hit movies, including Dune, Blade Runner 2049, and Arrival. And the next Bond, the next movie in the Bond franchise has been a long time coming, with the last movie, No Time to Die, coming out in 2021. Hey, Steve, what director directed the most amount of...
Bond movies? So, well, a couple, Martin Campbell directed Casino Royale and Goldeneye, which are considered two great reboot Bonds. There have been... I wasn't sure if, like, in the beginning it was always the same guy. I don't know definitively. A couple have directed a couple of them. But, I mean, listen, I think he's a solid choice. It depends on who's playing Bond. Who did you say, Steve? Um...
Campbell. Martin Campbell? Yeah, John Glenn directed the most James Bond films with a total of five for your eyes only. Octopussy, A View to Kill, The Living Daylights, and License to Kill. Wow, that and he orbited the Earth. That's insane. Yeah, yeah. The guy's incredible. Yeah, yeah. And he also makes a hell of a monkey bread. So...
There's been behind the scenes drama as Amazon took over the franchise, of course, and a ton of rumors about who will play James Bond in the next movie as well. Nothing definitive yet on that. They're talking to TJ Qualls. Oh, wow. I think that's going in the wrong direction personally, but we'll see. Well, they wanted to put a new, you know, fresh coat on it. New coat on it. Um,
Speaking of hallowed ground, Paramount Pictures and Doug Liman are taking a stand. The stand, as a matter of fact. The studio and filmmaker are teaming up to adapt Stephen King's Magnum Opus, and Liman is attached to direct the feature and will produce, along with Tyler Thompson and Cross Creek Pictures, the two previously teamed up to make the Tom Cruise crime drama American Made. How do you feel about this? This is the third swipe at it, right? Yeah, the second one, I just thought,
was, it was just okay at best, which was too bad. The original miniseries I loved. Yeah, and the second one would be Goldberg, right? Who else was in it? Yeah, that's what I was talking about. Oh, man. Damn it. Madsen? No,
No, not Madsen. What's that? Not Michael Madsen. Not Michael Madsen. The Cyclops. Come on. Oh, James Morrison. James Morrison. There you go. Thank you. Jury duty. Actually, there were a bunch of people that were in that. And the problem was they didn't pick the right villain in Flag. They had the wrong person. He was one of the Skarsgårds played him. Yeah. Yeah. I remember you came over to watch it down the shore. Yeah. It was in COVID. Yeah. And we watched it. And I was just like, eh.
They didn't quite nail it. So I'm hopeful. I would like to see another swipe at it, for sure. It's my all-time favorite novel. The project will head to the writers to pen an adaptation of what is King's longest work. The page count is 1,152 pages. Don't you think this needs a...
Yes. Okay. It will instantly become one of the hottest writing assignments in town. So the book, first published in 1978, then revised in 1990 as a bar-setting literary masterpiece, has influenced pop culture from television shows such as Lost to musical acts like Metallica and various forms of post-apocalyptic literature. The stamp was adapted twice, like we said, in the miniseries in 1994 and over again in 2020 and as a comic from Marvel Comics, which is really good, by the way.
But feature-wise, it is believed many a Hollywood play, it has bedeviled many a Hollywood player, and directors ranging from George A. Romero to David Yates and Ben Affleck have tried to tackle the material. Sources say that Lyman and the studio have a particular take and that the feature will be a one-off.
not a multiple movie endeavor. So I don't see how they can do that big of a story in one movie. It doesn't make any sense to me. You see the thing that King is doing? He's selling some of his lesser known short stories for like
like a dollar to filmmakers that want to take them and take a crack at them. He just wants to see them come. He wants to see them be made into movies. So he's saying, you can have these for a song and a dance if you can make something out of them. That's great. He's got a ton of really good short stories that would make for good, you know,
or maybe in series. So that's cool. I love it. So Aaron Sorkin is developing The Social Network Part 2 at Sony Pictures. No kidding. Yep, based on the Facebook files from the Wall Street Journal, which dove into the controversial inner workings of the social media company. I said this on air a week or two ago. I re-watched it not that long ago, the first one. It's terrific. It holds up. It's fascinating to me to see a movie that came out in 2010 that was set in 2006 about Facebook, which was invented...
around that time is still pertinent. And everything that they talk about, you know, big tech and, you know, where it's gone since then, it's a really great movie. I loved seeing it and I loved revisiting it. So Sorkin won an Oscar for the original and will direct the sequel. Casting, meanwhile, has not been announced. The first film, of course, was directed by David Fincher and starred Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg.
Sorkin has long hinted that he was working on a follow-up, saying in 2021 that what has been going on with Facebook these last few years is a story very much worth telling. So we'll see how that goes. The story of Andrew Garfield's character and how he gets screwed over by Zuckerberg is true in that movie. And, man, Zuckerberg, what they did to mess with that guy's fortune, I mean, he'd be worth whatever Zuckerberg's worth now. Wow. Yeah, they robbed him, essentially. They absolutely did.
Dave Bautista is finally getting his shot at love on screen. Paramount has picked up The Romantic, a new rom-com from Can't Hardly Wait and Leap Your Masterminds, Debra Kaplan and Harry Elfond, with Bautista in talks to star in the movie. I wonder if this is why he trimmed off a ton of weight. Have you seen him recently? Yeah. The plot centers on a burly man who is actually a best-selling romance novelist under a female pen name.
But in a twist of events, he has to hire a woman to pose as him at a book convention to protect his secret. It is in early development stages, and it looks to cast and crew. But Bautista has been on the hunt for a genre switch-up.
after roles in Dune and Guardians of the Galaxy. He said, I know I'm not your typical rom-com lead. He said, I'm a little rough around the edges. I like this idea because a lot of people don't know that Sergeant Slaughter was originally cast for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I did not know that. Why did not? I don't know. Yeah, he was going to be the Blake Lively character. Perfect.
All right. And then we will do one more story and then we'll move along and get the clips happening. So a final trailer for the Fantastic Four First Steps is out. And for the first time, we see who our heroes are up against, a powerful villain named Galactus. Did anybody watch it? I was like, no, I'm not going to watch it. I'm like, the movie's coming out next month. I'm going to wait.
I don't want to see anymore. You know what I mean? I did watch it. All right. Listen, I've been intrigued all along. Let's hope they deliver. In the trailer, the four are navigating superhero Dom. Superhero Dom. And their everyday lives. When a massive spacecraft enters the atmosphere, a being descends with a terrifying pronouncement. I herald his beginning. I herald your end. I herald Galactus. Preston, did you see Thunderbolts? No. Okay, so it ends with a Fantastic Four trailer.
tease. And I feel like I can say that because the movie's been out for a while at this point. So when you watch the post-credits scene... The second one. The second post-credits scene, yeah. There's something that alludes to Fantastic Four. Okay. Later glimpses of the villain show Galactus to be massive, crushing cars, Godzilla style. So you're saying that Dom from Vin Diesel, he's going to be in it. No. Superhero Dom is what I meant to say. The Fantastic Four First Steps hits theaters on July 25th. Yeah. It's big. We got some clips for you.
Oh, we don't have a drum roll.
So, when a scene requires driving 200 miles per hour and acting at the same time, the lines become secondary. And in this clip, Brad Pitt talks about filming the racing scenes for F1. Hit it, Jason. It is true. We would have mission control in our ear. So we would have to hit for camera. We'd have to hit certain choreography. So we would start the day with little Hot Wheels cars on the track. We got to get this bit here. We got to get this bit here. On the backside, you know, we'll talk you through where we're going from there. It was all choreographed in that way.
F1 hits theaters tomorrow. Next clip.
Barbara Walters, Tell Me Everything, details the reporter's upbringing and highlights her accolades from over six decades of working in the television industry. And this clip director, Jackie Jesko, shares how she was able to uncover exclusive footage for this documentary. All right, Jason. Doing a film about somebody who's already passed away, you kind of have a finite amount of things to work with. And what we had that was really special was
was access to ABC's incredible trove of archive. I knew that the story I wanted to find was going to be in that material because that's what was going to set this apart and make it special.
Barbara Walters, Tell Me Everything is streaming now on Hulu, by the way. And there you go, your entertainment report live from Hershey Park. And, ladies and gentlemen, as of two minutes ago, the doors are open. The park is now open, so we should start seeing some people making their way in. We gave out 500 tickets to our closest friends to come and join us.
and they will be arriving shortly. And, uh, we're going to get our day underway. We're just saying there was a level of excitement over this event and everyone that they're clamoring for tickets for this event. But we remind you it's here. You can come on down regardless. And you should, because it's always been a gloriously beautiful park, but Oh my God, the stuff they've done since you've been here last will blow you away. I mean, we haven't been here since 2018. Yes. Every, all the renovations and everything they've added is so impressive. Uh, Preston, how was your nose? Uh,
I don't feel anything moving in there. Okay. Regardless of the dead bug? Yes, regardless of the dead bug. But I feel something moving in my intestine, so I'm going to go make some chocolate of my own during this commercial break. But we will come back with all the sights and the pleasant smells and sounds of Hershey Park. And we are here in actually Chocolate Town. And here come the first park attendees of the day. Alright.

610-660-9333. Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. Marissa Magnato. Yay! Thank you, Marissa. So, yeah, we got here last night. We stayed at the Hershey Lodge, which I highly recommend. Anybody stay at the Hershey Lodge last night? Or did you guys all come this morning? It looks like everybody came this morning. If you get a chance to come out here and you want to make more of your stay at Hershey Park, stay at the lodge.com.
They've got an awesome pool and kind of pseudo water park inside there. Yeah, it's great. Nick was actually working out last night. They got a gym adjacent to it. I ran a mile. You ran a mile? Yeah, it felt really good. I burned enough calories to have wine last night. And that we did. Yeah, your wine mile. They've got several great restaurants. And they have shuttles that will take you to and from the park.
And into the town as well. The lobby smells like chocolate. It does. Well, that's because they give you chocolate when you check in. Yeah, you do. Did you guys eat your chocolate bars last night? Yes, I did. You didn't, Case? Not yet. Oh, okay. You held on to them. All right. Make sure you did. That's the last thing I did last night before I went to bed. Where is it? Did you leave it in the car? No, I left it for the hotel services. Okay. Okay.
But yeah, they give you a chocolate bar. But anyhow, yeah, they kind of pipe that chocolate smell into the lobby when you come in there and ate at one of the restaurants. It was excellent. So highly suggested. And that's what we used to do when my kids were younger. We would come down and they had a deal where, and I'll have to ask, we have a representative here we're going to talk to at Hershey Park, but if you had tickets, you could go to the park the night before for like the last hour that the park was open. Which is awesome. We would do that and then go back to the lodge, hang out for the night, get up in the morning, come back, and then do the all day at the
park and he just paid for one day at the park so it's a great setup it kind of gives you a little whitman sampler view of what you want to do and then you come the next day and kind of exploit all of that and late in the day towards the end the lines are really short to the rides that's pretty awesome so uh enough about me me talking about the park we want to welcome uh the director of public relations for hershey park this is quinn briner who was here this morning
Hello, Quinn. How are you? I am good, but I think you're doing my job for me. I know. I'm sorry. I'm a fan. You're hired. I'm such a fan. I mean, we came here when my kids were, you know, toddler age, and we would rent one of the cabanas at the wave pool and just spend all day.
day here. I love it. And you know what? When I rolled in last night, Stephen, I'm watching on the in-room information channel about it. I was just like, because it covers not only the story of Milton Hershey, but the whole town. And there's a lot to do here. And that's what I love about this. It is a destination. Yeah, and so with the refurb on the park, I'm not going to say what
The improved. Whatever. It was great to begin with. I like that word. But it's an amazing overhaul because everything just is more open air. This whole area that we're in. Chocolate Town. Chocolate Town is tremendous. And just the general look. And the thing that we really love is, again, you know, this is a big thing in the world of parks. It's so clean. Yeah.
And so nice. And the staff could not be better. So you're done. You can go now. I know. Hey, all right, Quinn. Thank you for doing my job. Let me ask you about this because it was a 2018 was the last time we did a live broadcast right behind you, which we are facing is Candemonium. When did this coaster come into being?
So that opened in 2020. Okay. Since you've been here last, we have added multiple coasters and all of Hershey's Chocolate Town. So this is a 23-acre enhancement. So it was $150 million. Wow. And it really kind of brings together the story of our founder, Milton Hershey, all he left for the town and the community that he loves so much. And it's a place where fun meets chocolate.
So all this is new. I mean, we'll say it was just for you guys. We appreciate it. When are the statues going up of me and Steve? We'll work on that. Okay. All right. So Candamodium, it's the tallest and fastest ride in the park, right? Yeah. Tallest, longest, and fastest. So the last time we were here, the new attraction was Skyrush.
I mean, that was brand new. So we were showing that off. Seems like ages since we've been here. It would have been 2017, right? I think 2018. 2018, yeah. So we've added so much. In the last decade alone, we've added almost six coasters. Wow. So if you think about like Wildcats Revenge, which is our new steel coaster hybrid. So it's wood and steel. It actually is a throwback. The very first coaster that Milton Hershey built in 1923 was called the Wildcat. So we brought that back, Wildcats Revenge. Love it.
Yeah, so we have 15 coasters now, which is the most in the Northeast. So no pressure, but I think you need to ride all of them today. Give us your review. Do you have those coaster groups that come in? Yeah, because I mean... They're the best. Yeah. I mean, the enthusiasts keep
parks like ours, Top of Mind. We have guests who come from Europe because they love Skyrush. They think some of our coasters are the best in the world. Nick, don't you have a history of the Super Duper Looper or something like that? Did you have a story of that? Not a story of it, but it was just like the coolest...
Best roller coaster I remember when I was growing up. And we would have field trips to come to Hershey every year. And it was just, like, awesome but also a bit terrifying when you're in fourth and fifth grade. And I was talking to Quinn a little bit earlier. Everything about Hershey for me is nostalgic. The drive-in is nostalgic. You see all the lilies along 322 on the drive-in. I came here a lot when Ben was, like, three, four years old. And then to get back for us now as a show is also nostalgic. Yeah.
Because we haven't been here since 2018. So to see all the developments, to see everything you guys have done since our last visit, it's really cool. The carousel, which we're right next to, that used to be in a different location, right? Yes. So as part of the Chocolate Town expansion, we moved it up to a place of prominence. It's actually the oldest ride in Hershey Park. It dates back to 1919. Wow. And they have all 66 of the original horses here.
Every year in the off season, our incredible maintenance team, you know, reassembles them, repaints them, refurbishes as needed. So that is one example of we love to hear generations coming back to visit us. So you could ride the same horse with your children that you rode with your grandparents. That's something you can't get anywhere else, you know, besides a park that's been around for decades.
119 years. No, it is amazing. Chocolate Town here, what are some of the things that someone would find when they're coming to Chocolate Town? What are in these buildings here around us? Yeah, so we added three culinary experiences. So the Chocolatier, which is our full-service restaurant, bar, and patio. The patio is awesome to grab a cocktail. You're right below it right now. So you get to watch the carousel, Candamonia Runny. You get the energy of the park while you're enjoying some great food.
We've got rides up there, so you can sit in a Total World booth, a Comet booth. So it's a restaurant that can only exist in Hershey. We've got an ice cream parlor inside, which is great for a hot day like today. We're making homemade fudge at the Sweeterie. And then this whole area really grabs people's attention. It's one of our favorite things when you walk in the front gate and people literally just stop in their tracks and watch this coaster going, and it gets them ready for a fun time.
Yeah, that's the first thing you see when you walk in, which is this incredible coaster. The question I have to ask is where did the kettle corn end up? Oh, yeah. It's still there. Okay. It's a little farther back. All right. Yeah. So actually, if you're used to coming in the old entrance, we have an old brick outside of the new Starbucks that shows where the old entrance used to be. So that's one of the things that we really pride ourselves on. As we continue to add and evolve new things, we always respect our past. So you can look to see where the entrance used to be.
and then that'll orient you to your kettle corn location. Well, to Nick's point about the way when you come into the area, when you come into this town and everything is just beautiful and focused obviously on the Hershey family and the park and all the other, the school and everything that it's legendary for. There is this look and this sort of artistic...
to everything. I assume that as things start to get, for example, like the carousel, you've got to, I'm sure, put a clarion call out to people who can refer these things around the world because that's less and less a thing that you're going to find on your job sites. Who can restore this stuff? Do you hire people and keep a full staff in place
in the mechanism to do this all the time because it's a lot to take care of and maintain. Yeah, shout out to our maintenance team. So we have over 200 full-time craftsmen. So whether they're electricians, plumbers, artisans who work on things like the carousel, it's such a specialized thing. And I know you were talking earlier about the inspections and safety is such a top priority. We want people to come here, know that they can enjoy everything. So yeah, the team is the best in the business. And a lot of times the...
they know more than the ride manufacturers. Some of our rides have outlasted the companies that made them. So our team is so innovative in making sure that everything is as good today as it was when it was added to the park in 1919. Let me ask you just a quick question. Has anyone ever asked Oh boy. Who's passed away I was waiting for it. To be buried in proximity to
the area, you know, to the park. I mean, if you have like a, just an overly energetic park aficionado. A lot of passionate fans. Right. They have gotten many requests, but that's not something that we are doing at the moment. Well, Cemetery World. The only statue is Milton Hershey for a reason. Cemetery World, think about it. You know what, that's a good idea.
I like Cemetery Town. Cemetery Town. A little more friendly. Does the park have an official policy on taking ashes on any of the rides? We do. I bet you people have tried.
Yes. Let's focus on the positive. We want to be invited back here, guys. We have people get married on coasters. Or Kissing Tower, which is the highest point. It celebrates 50 years this year. But yeah, people have gone. And so that's a much better life celebration. I think so. Not as many divorces taking place. We don't track, though. Whatever makes New Hershey Park happy, we're here. Is there a chapel? Is there some sort of facility? There is not.
Okay. All right. So your officiant has to like to ride roller coasters. That's the one caveat. All right. Tell us about the new attraction, the Twizzlers, the giant swing. Yes. So Twizzlers Twisted Gravity, new this summer. It opened about a month ago. It's the world's tallest screaming swing. And there is no aptly named ride other than that. So when you start swinging, you will start screaming. It goes 137 feet in the air, 68 miles per hour. Wow.
Wow. So as it's not for the faint of heart, for sure. As it's swinging, it's under its own momentum. It's so you're experiencing zero G moments. Wow. Definitely a high thrill. So even though it's not a coaster, it's going to deliver on some of those. You feel like you're leaving gravity behind. And that's actually Steve. It's where we had broadcast from in 2018 is where that's located. We walked
by on the way over here. That thing is a monstrosity. Yeah. It is. Once you see it get swinging, it'll take your breath away. Nice. Do you guys have a, for people who are purchasing tickets, do you have a front of the line type of, or not front of the line, but do you have speed access passes of sorts? Yeah, they just have to ride with you, right? Okay, yeah. Yeah, you just have to know Preston and you get in. No, we do have fast
track we've got two options you can save on it if you buy more than three days in advance but then our team's always happy to find times for you to you know when it's not as crowded you mentioned our preview program yes so we have that baked into every ticket so you can come two hours before close with a regular ticket for free get a lay of the land a sneak taste of the things you want to experience and then come back for your full day and
That's included. And if you're a resorts guest with us, you get an extra hour. So you can come three hours before. And that's for a one-day ticket. And you get the day before. Yes. That's a phenomenal deal. Yeah. And then if you're a season pass holder or you're staying at one of our resort properties, which we've got three, you can come in for Sweet Start, which all of your listeners get a chance to do today. Wow. So they get an hour in certain areas of the park just for them. Okay.
That's awesome. So what are the three properties? I mentioned the lodge, the Hershey Lodge. Hershey Lodge and then the Hotel Hershey. Yep. So historic luxury hotel built in 1933. We've got new villas out there this year. It makes you feel like a 1920s movie star as soon as you walk in. So highly recommend. You can go in, get a signature chocolate martini, which we serve everywhere throughout the destination. The spa is world-renowned too there from what I've heard. Absolutely, yes. Sorry to interrupt.
No, please. Hey, you're literally doing my job. There you go. Keep talking. And then Hershey Park Camping Resort. Okay. It's got everything from like RV hookups to the only way I camp, which is like a full cottage with running water. But yeah, so all those options are available. We've got free shuttle for our resort guests. I know you got a chance to taste some of our hospitality last night. Yeah. So there's so much to do here. You're going to want to stay overnight. Hey, good times to be had. Good times to be had. Yeah. That's like the story of my life.
You guys do a great job. And that's really what is important. Again, I know we might sound as if we're fanboying, but we legitimately love the layout here. We love the setup. We love the accommodations and how wonderful your staff is to work with. And just the general feel. The vibe gets you the second you walk in. The second you get off of the turnpike. It's a 10-mile drive where you get off the turnpike to get...
to getting here and like just that drive rolling hills the farmland it's gorgeous and then you go through the school campus and the medical campus and it's just like wow you just look around like this is just so well maintained and then you get here you know historically when did Milton Hershey like when was the business established and like when did he really become a famous chocolatier
Sure. So 1906 is when he started Hershey Park as a leisure grounds for his employees. He was really one of the first to believe in a company town. And so all of this sprung from his desire to create a true community. So as you walk through Chocolate Town outside, we actually have medallions that talk about all the things he created that...
our guests can still enjoy today, whether it's Hershey Park Stadium for awesome concerts or the Hotel Hershey. He created the school in 1909, gave his entire fortune away. And so we're so proud to extend that legacy. And to that point, I actually brought you guys some chocolate bars that have a very special wrapper. They were designed from students at the Milton Hershey School. So in addition to being this largest amusement park,
Park in Pennsylvania, world-class destination. Every time you visit us, you're giving back to help the kids up on the hill. There's nothing that makes us prouder. So just want to thank you for being a part of that incredible legacy that our founder started all the way back in the early 1900s. And I want to thank you for giving us the ones with almonds in it.
Thank you very much. This is my favorite. Peanut warning. I should have. No, it's all good. My mom and me needs to make sure you're all safe. Well, excellent. Quinn, thank you for all the information. It's an amazing place, and we're very happy to be here again. You're hired, and we're so glad to have you back.
we have to create another $150 million something to convince you next time. No, I'd say we're pretty easy. $50 million. Since we did all this. You know what might be nice? Cemetery Town. You set that up and we'll be back. I will share that and we'll get back to you. Tombstone Town. Tombstone Town. It's alliterative. All right, excellent. Thank you, Quinn. We appreciate it. Quinn Briner. Yay! Yay! Yay!
Public Relations here at Hershey Park. So you know what we'd like to do is we'd like to give some stuff away. We're going to play a contest right now, a very easy one. We're going to play our version, a Hershey version of the Pyramid Game. Yay! Which is...
A very simple game, and we're going to need some contestants, and we're just going to pull people right out of the crowd. Anybody want to raise their hand who's interested in winning a prize? Yeah, you, come on over. Yep, we got the woman in the gray shirt, yep, with the pink hair. Yep, we'll have her come over.
And we'll get you started. And it's a real easy game to play, but we do have some Hershey Park and Preston and Steve prize bags to give away. We just want to meet some of the people who are here. And yes, hi, Pink Hair. How you doing? I'm good. What's your name? Kelly. Kelly, how you doing today? Good.
Where are you from? Bath, Pennsylvania. From where, Pennsylvania? Bath. Bath? I know. Where is that? Bethlehem Allentown area. Oh. Teeny tiny town. But I'm originally from Westchester, so. All right. And who are you here with today? I am here with my fiance, Don. Oh, hey, Don. Where's Don? When are you guys getting married? Some point. Oh, boy. Don. Don, lock this down. Come on.
All right, Kelly, so we're going to play Pyramid. I'm going to give you a category. You will choose. I'll give you a series of categories. You choose which one, and there are five words in that category. You'll have 30 seconds. I will give you clues as to what each word is, and if you get all five of them within 30 seconds, you win a prize. It's that simple, right? Okay. All right, so here are the categories for you to choose from. We have Payday, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup,
Kisses, Jolly Rancher, Reese's Pieces, Kit... No, no, I'm sorry. Not Reese's Pieces. I didn't come up with one for that. Rolo, Kit Kat, or Whoppers? Let's do Peanut Butter Cup. All right. Peanut Butter Cup. All right. This is Things That Come in Cups. Okay? Things That Come in Cups. All right. 30 seconds on the clock. You ready? Ready?
All right, here we go. All right, this is cold. You can order it in scoops, and you put it in a cup. Water ice? No. Ice cream? Yes, ice cream, yes. This is something you drink in the morning to get you awake and moving. Yep. This is bubbly and sweet, and you find it in a can or bottles. Soda? Yes. This will get you a good buzz, and it's maybe... Beer? Yep, thank you. And sometimes you cook these. It's an Asian dish. You eat them with chopsticks or with... Noodles? Yes, you got it! Yeah! Yeah!
You were born for this. 24.6 seconds. That's a world record. Marissa is going to give you a Preston and Steve and Hershey's prize bag. Congratulations, Kelly. Wow. Nice job. She did it. She nailed it. All right, that means we have another one. I got a few of these to do. Who else would like to play? Marissa, grab somebody. Anybody you want. Marissa's going to get...
All right, we got a guy in one of our Blood Drive t-shirts. Oh, and he's a tailor. He cut the sleeves off of the shirt. I found some sleeves in the parking lot. They might be his. By the way, the sleeves on those shirts are heavy. Come on, man. You can't have that weighing you down. What's your name? Good morning. My name is Paul. Good morning to see you, Paul.
Hello. Thanks for being here. Did you get that shirt at a blood drive? I did. Excellent. Thank you. And this is your summertime shirt because you cut the sleeves off, right? You know, I'm lightweight. I got you, man. And who are you here with, Paul? I'm here with my daughter, Julianne. Hi, Julianne. Hey, Julianne. How old is Julianne?
She's 14. Okay, cool. And summertime, she's out of school? Out of school. Nice. Yep, causing havoc at home. Have you been to Hershey Park before? Yes. Excellent. Love this place, right? Love it. Absolutely love it here. And where are you guys from? Washington Township, New Jersey. Okay. All right, Paul, the categories are as follows. Kit Kat, Whoppers, Jolly Rancher, Kisses, and Payday. Which one do you want to choose? Let's go with...
Kisses. All right, kisses. And these are different types of kisses. Okay? Different types of kisses. Let's put 30 seconds on the clock. You got five things you need to get from my clues. Here we go. And let's begin. Right before you go to bed, you give them a... Good night. Correct. This is when you slather your tongues all over each other. French kiss. That is correct. This is just a little bitty... Peck. Yes, it's a peck. Exactly. This is kind of like a peck, but it's for like an infant. What type of kiss?
If you're giving teeny itty-bitty kisses, they're... Butterfly? Not quite, but think of a child, an infant. A... Baby? Yes. And also, this is if someone has definitely done something wrong. They are going to die. They have been given the... Yes!
You got it! There you go. Just at 30 seconds. Awesome. You took us from baby kisses to the mafia press, and that's awesome. I know. You guys rock. Thank you, brother. We appreciate that. All right, these people are nailing it. That means we can get another contestant, so Marissa is going to pull somebody out of the crowd, which, by the way, I went through the entire list of
of Hershey's products to come up with these categories. There's a ton of them. And if you guys, while you're here, when you leave, if you've never been to Hershey Park, on your way out, make sure you go to Chocolate World. I love Chocolate World. There was a wedding that we went to in Harrisburg not that long ago in the fall, and we didn't have time to come and do the park, so we just went to Chocolate World because you can go there and I
Quinn, I think you can get free parking if you're just going to Chocolate World. I'm not 100% sure. Yeah, thumbs up. So if you go by there, you will find chocolate products, Hershey products that you can't get anywhere else. Yes. Stuff you never see. Yes, you never see. There's combinations. I think they kind of maybe test market them out of there. I'm all too happy to be a tester. And the ride is so much fun. It's a fun ride.
Family, low-key ride, but it's a blast. Dude, I don't have kids. I ride that freaking thing. I love it. Me too. All right, so my sound effects buttons are stuck right now. Okay. So I'm not going to be able to do the music bed underneath. All right, we'll get Rambo theme again. Actually, I can play that. Listen, he did play Pyramid in the original Rambo.
If you remember, that was part of what they did in the jail. With Dennehy? Yeah. I bet you suck at Pyramid. Yeah, the Rambo theme won't play either, man. All right, so. I mean, I have some stuff here. No, don't worry about it. We're fine. So Rodney's on it. What's that, Casey? I have a clock, though. Okay, so who's our next contestant? What is your name? Brittany. Hi, Brittany. Where are you from? Northeast Philly. Northeast, the great Northeast. Who are you here with? My husband, Joe. Excellent. Just the two of you? Yes. All right, well, thanks for coming out today. Have you been to Hershey Park before?
Not since 2006. Oh, my God. What do you think? It's amazing, right? Yes. All right. Nice. All right. Well, we are going to play the game with you, and we are playing Pyramid, and the categories are as follows. We have Whoppers, Kit Kat, Rolo, Jolly Rancher, or Payday. What's it going to be?
Let's do Jolly Rancher. Jolly Rancher. These are things you might find on a ranch. Okay? We got the music back. Got it back. Okay, things you might find on a ranch. You ready? I think so. On your mark, get set, and go. This is a rope, and you swing it around, and you grab stuff with it. A lasso. Correct. This is a guy who wears a hat on the ranch. He's a... Cowboy. Yeah, correct. And this are the things they raise at a ranch. They have big, long horns, and you eat them. They make steaks out of them. A cow.
You know, like an animal. Oh, cow. Yeah. Bull. What's another name for a cow or a bull? Calf. In general, a herd of... Cattle. Cattle! She got it, yes. All right, these are what the cowboys ride. Horses. Yes, and this is... Time's up. Time's up.
I got stuck on cattle. Stuck on cattle, that great Tori Hemos. Sorry, I did what I could. Now get out of here. Well, thank you anyway. Thank you. Thank you. Sorry about that. We do have to be a stickler if it's over 30 seconds. I know, she gave it a shot. Next contestant, who is this? What's your name? Shannon. How you doing, Shannon? I'm doing great. You look all fired up. I am. She went from good to great in a nanosecond. Are you a coaster person?
A roller coaster? I'm not familiar with the vernacular. I don't even like using a coaster. When you say coaster in an amusement park, what are you referring to? I hate those wet rings on the table. That's what I was going to say. Like mayonnaise. It takes them out. Do you like roller coasters? I love roller coasters. It does. Look it up. Google it. Annie's gets...
Rings out of wood. On wood. She just gave a great, if you have rings on your wood, right? Google it. Use mayonnaise to get the stain out. Nick is Googling it right now. Google it. I believe her. I believe her. Do I look believable? I mean, I do. I won't do that, but I do believe you. All right. Where are you from? Claymont, Delaware. Claymont, Delaware. And who'd you come here with? My husband and my brother-in-law and my son. Excellent. Nice.
And you look like you're a dancer because you keep doing these little moves. Well, I'm a deadhead, so... You're a deadhead. Well, twirl around for us. Let's see that. Yeah! Okay, we're playing... Real quick. Yes, okay. Mayonnaise can help remove water rings and stains from finished wood services. Hold you!
All right. I love her. I love her. You learn stuff. All right. Here are the remaining categories in our... Our Rolo. Our Rolo. All right. Done and done. All right. These are words that rhyme with Rolo. Okay? I know you're a fan of the candy, but we're moving on to something else. These are words that rhyme with Rolo. All right. Let's see. One, two, three. I only have four. Oh. Damn it. All right.
All right. Well, we're going to do four. Okay. You get an edge. All right. Here we go. I'm down. On your mark, get set, get go. Get go. On the mark, get set, get go. Get go? Okay. Is that Rolo? Rolo. No. Get go is the new candy here at Hershey's. Yeah. We rhyme with Rolo. It was not get go. It was good go. It says good go. It rhymes with Rolo. It rhymes with Rolo. Is that one? It rhymes with Rolo. I got one.
There's the fifth word. Yeah, that's what I said. I got one. I didn't drink at the lodge last night at all. Okay, good. Here we go. On your mark, get set, good go. All right. If you're by yourself, you are? Solo. Yes. If you are afraid of not being involved in what everybody else is doing. YOLO. Yes. This is a game on horses. Use a big mallet to hit a ball. Oh, boy.
Polo? Yes. And this is a person who rides the rails, who doesn't have a place to live. A hobo. Yeah! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! You won. Yeah. Way to go. Shut up. Shut up. Love you guys. What's that noise, by the way? It was just wind. It got a little windy down here.
See, wind is right next to winning sound. Oh, okay. Wind, winning. Hit the winning sound. So we have it. Yeah, okay. On the sound effects unit, that's right next to wind, which sounds like this, by the way.
There it is. Yeah, so I'm like, what the? I thought it was a roller coaster going by. Preston, we've just been contacted by NASA. They want to know our tech secrets here. Yes, I'm sure. All right, next contestant. Hi, what is your name? Abby. Abby. And where are you from, Abby? Wilmington, Delaware. All right, we've got a couple Delaware peeps. Nice. How do you get stains off of your table? Do you put mayonnaise or mustard on your wood? Windex.
Windex. All right, Nick, see if that works. By the way, dude, I bought Windex the other day, Preston. I literally broke it the second I used it for the first time. You pulled it the first time and it snapped. And it snapped. I'm like, do I take this back? Did you have a spare spray ball type at the house? No. Yeah, you should take it back. Take it back. Okay. All right. Glad we solved that problem. Who are you here with today, by the way, Abby? My two kids and my friend and coworker. Awesome. How old are your kids?
8 and 13. Perfect. They're going to have a great time today. Have you guys done Hershey Park before? We were here four years ago, and it's my little one's birthday last week, so it's kind of his belated birthday. Excellent. Great. I'm happy to hear that. All right. We're playing the pyramid game. Before we do that, according to Architectural Digest, some sources advise against using Windex to remove stains on wood furniture. Thanks, Nick. Stick with the mayo. All right. You learn stuff. All right. We have three categories left. We have Whoppers, Kit Kat, and Payday. What's it going to be?
Kit Kat. Kit Kat. All right, so you think I'd go with the cat thing, but I didn't. These are things that come in kits. Okay, different things that come in kits. Are you ready to go? Time to go. On your mark, set, go.
And go. This is if you cut yourself. Or fade. Yes, exactly. This is, women put this on their face for colors. That is correct, yes. These are little plastic bricks that you put together. Lego? Yes. This is if you need to fix something. You have a, you've got your thing. Tool box. Tools, yes, that's correct. And this is an instrument that you hit with sticks and there's symbols. Yes, that's it. Wow. Yes.
22 seconds. Nailed it. We have a prize bag for you that Marissa is going to give to you. And we have one more prize bag left. And I think that's it for this particular segment. So I have two different categories. And we have our next contestant who's going to have to hunch over a little bit to the microphone. What is your name, bud? Rob Thomas. Hey, Rob Thomas. I love you for Matchbox Money. You've heard that all your life. Give me your homemade real. Don't just forget about it. Rob Thomas.
Rob, how tall are you, by the way? 6'2". All right, 6'2". You're a big guy. Who are you here with? My wife, my daughter, and my son. How tall are they? Yeah, how tall are those guys? Not tall. Can you dunk a basketball?
No. Okay. How old are your kids? Twelve and five. I love it. They're right in the range. Love to see the families out. Excellent. And also, where are you guys from? Magnolia, New Jersey. A lot of Jersey folks here, man. You guys are taking the drive. I appreciate that. All right. So two categories left. You get to choose from them. Payday or Whoppers. What's it going to be? Payday. All right. Payday. These are different types of days. All right. Different types of days. We're ready to go. Okay.
On your mark, get set, and let's go. This was the Allied invasion in France. D-Day. That is correct. This is when we celebrate. It's on the 4th of July. Independence Day. That is correct. This is what you say if you're an airplane and you're going to crash and you're calling over the microphone. May Day. May Day is correct. This is when the Eagles are getting ready to play. It's... Game Day. Yes. And this is when you open up presents under the tree. Christmas Day. Yes!
Yes, yes, yes. That easy. A clinic. That easy. Well done. All right, and we have the Preston and Steve and Hershey Park prize bag. I have one category left. We have a prize bag. We have another prize bag. We can do another one? Yeah. Marissa, is that okay? All right. The girl with the blue sunglasses, she's jumping up and down. She looks all excited. Let's bring her over here and see how much...
She's bouncing up. Full of energy. Hi, what's your name? My name is Marianne. How you doing, Marianne? Good. Very nice to meet you. Where are you from? Pottstown, Pennsylvania. All right. Pottstown. Excellent. You're a very giggly person. I get that a lot. That's a good thing. It is. Who are you here with? So I'm here with my boyfriend, Adam, and our friends, Nicole and Rowan. Excellent. Welcome, guys. And first time in Hershey Park, or have you been here before? No, actually, my...
My family goes to Hershey Park every year around Halloween. That's the Halloween candy we get every year. Oh, listen, it's great around Halloween around here. They do a whole bunch of stuff. And Christmas, too, because we brought the family here for Christmas, and there's not only stuff here in the park, but there's other drive-thru...
that they have with the lights and everything. They say it's the best time to go. It is a great time to go. And also, Steve, they sell at the drive-thru, the lights thing, they have big bags of kettle corn that you can buy in your car while you're driving through and listening to the... They have a radio signal set up with music that goes along with it, and they sell the giant turkey legs here in the park. I love that. All right, we have one last category. It's Whoppers. Okay. All right, and these are things that are huge. Okay.
All right. Things that are huge. And let's begin. Start now. This is the largest animal in the world. It lives in the ocean. Blue whale. That is correct. This is the largest mountain in the world. Mount Everest. That is correct. This is an airplane that drops bombs. There was also a band that did a song called Rock Lobster. Do you know Rock Lobster, the band? Do you know Love Shack?
Who did that? It's a giant plane. It's got eight engines on it. It's really huge. It's one of the biggest planes. You don't know. It's a B-52. It's a B-52. You got it. Well done. This is a really big building in New York City. It's legendary. The Empire State Building? That is correct. And it's the largest ocean in the world. The Atlantic? No. The other one. The Pacific? I got it. She aced it. Perfect. It's amazing.
It was a little late in time, but we'll give it to him. The one person who lost is like, son of a bitch. I know, I know. What the hell's going on? Maybe we can get them a prize bag, too. But yeah, B-52. Thank you very much. You got it right. So that was fun. And we're just getting started. We're going to meet some animals from Zoo America at some point. They're going to bring them by. Which is amazing as well. Yep. So yeah, there's so many different things that you can partake upon here at Hershey Park. As I look...
Behind the crowd over there, I see the coaster going up on Candemonium right now. We have yet to see this thing run. It is the tallest coaster in the park. It's over 200 feet up in that first drop, so they're doing some test runs, which means...
They're going to be opening the rides very soon. So when you walk into the park, this is the first thing you see, this amazing coaster right in front of you. Yeah, and it's about to go over the hill in three, two, one, and there it goes. And at some point, as it makes its way around, it's very quiet from here, but we should hear it rumbling around the corner, which I'm excited about. Did you hear that? I heard the wind in the background. Yes. Just from that cart as it headed down. And the faint sound of the Rambo theme. It's amazing the sounds that you hear.
Here at Hershey Park. Okay, can't wait to go on that coaster. There are lots of... Okay, you can stop now. I actually want to hear the ride when it comes by. Sorry. Which it looks like it's making a turn. So I don't know where all this thing winds to, but here it comes. Hang on. It's banking a turn. Now it's going back further away. It is coming up a hill. Here it comes. Right around the corner. Let's see if we can hear it. Hang on. Here it is.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's smooth. All right. Why don't we take a break? Yeah. And we'll come back and have more from Hershey Park. We're here all day, friends. Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. Thank you, Melissa McNutt. By the way, where our tent is situated, the sun is directly behind us. And so everybody who's standing out here, like you can't see us at all. The sun is so bright. So if you guys step, you can come close and get right into the shade. Move up a little bit and you'll be able to see what's going on here. We're going to do a couple things in this segment. We're going to do the bizarre file at the...
After the Bizarre File, we are going to do a contest. And I want to utilize the kids we have here. We've got a lot of young kids. We've got a lot of families here. And so one of my favorite sounds at an amusement park is when you hear that coaster go down a big hill and you hear the kids screaming. Yes. I love it. It's elation. It never gets old to me. So we're going to need five kids who can scream really loud. Oh, my God.
And we're going to do a scream off. Marissa, you can pick five people out of the crowd and set them aside. We're going to do that after the bizarre foul. But before that, there's a gentleman named Tyler I want to bring over here. Hey, Tyler, step on up. This is a microphone right in front here. It's going to be a little short for you there. But, yeah, you can pick it up. Yeah, you can move it, do whatever you like. Tyler, what's your last name, by the way? Moore. Tyler Moore. And you are in what branch of the military? Army. All right. You're in the Army. Thanks for serving. Thanks for serving.
And number one, I noticed Tyler because he's wearing a really cool Rush shirt. That's the coolest Rush shirt I've ever seen. Yeah, it's a fly-by-night. It's a take on the fly-by-night album cover. And you said when you were stationed in Africa, your wife sent that to you? Yes, yes, she did for my birthday. I love it. And so we started talking. Then you were chatting with Steve and he said you had an interesting story about our show while you were overseas, right? Yeah.
Okay, what was that? So I was telling him about how for like the past 15 years, you guys have been like a great source of joy for me. Just morning commutes, everything like that. Just something to laugh about. One of the favorite sketches was always every time you sing Goldfinger, I absolutely lose my mind. Almost crash from crying from laughter. But when I was over in Africa, we would do, you know, we had to do 24-7 security. And we had towers set up and everything like that. You always have security.
And there was another NCO in my platoon who was also a listener. So me and him would riff off of what you guys would do every now and again. So every night that we were on night shift at like, you know, two, three o'clock in the morning when you were really dragging.
You would just hear a van pull up. And if it was that NCO and he knew I was in that tower, you'd hear. That is great. That's hilarious. Isn't that great? By the way, you do that really well. I can't do it. I think I've been surpassed. It actually hurt my ears. It did a little bit. That is awesome, man. How long were you serving over there?
I was over for about nine, ten months. Okay. Yeah, most of last year. So this is easy. This weather's easy for you over here. Actually, I got used to the cold again. Really? And then it got to like 75 degrees and I was like, ah, ah, no, this can't be it. Well, who are you with today, Tyler? Who came with you? I'm with my wife and son. Awesome. How old's your son?
My son's five and a half years old. If I say five, he'll correct me. That's awesome. We hope you guys have a great time here today, man. Thanks for listening. Thanks for serving the country, too. We appreciate it. Absolutely. Thank you for having me on. You got us here for Tyler, everybody. That is a great story. I love it. Oh, it's the Goldfinger song. Goldfinger! Where on this high is touch? Wait. As far as touch. He, he, he, he, he.
I'm going to get her. Only gold. That's gold. I love that. All right, why don't we get to the bizarre file now. Hit it, Jason. Now, WMMR presents Kristen and Steve's Bizarre File.
Brought to you by the Bagster. You can buy yours now at any home improvement store. Just $29.99. And you fill it up, they pick it up on your schedule. The Bagster. Dumpster in a bag. Buy. Fill. Gone. Oh, by the way, Marissa, I heeded your advice. Family-friendly bizarre file today. So, let's get into these stories. We're going to start with this one. Although it does have murder connected to it, but a Cottonwood County jury says a 26-year-old man whose name is, his actual name is...
No Name Given Happy. No Name Given Happy. Someone was preparing for a life of crime. They said that he is guilty in a deadly New Year's Eve stabbing at the Fat Pheasant Pub. Prosecutors showed that No Name Given Happy pulled a knife during a fight just before midnight, killing a 30-year-old man named Benjamin Matter and wounding two other patrons. His lawyer was named Get Off with a Warning. Jurors convicted him of second-degree murder without intent and making terroristic threats.
And the attack shocked the small town and led to months of testimony from survivors. Yesterday we had a guy in a bizarre file named Looney Toon. That was actually his name. So we need to get him and No Name Given Happy together in the same cell.
Firefighters had to rescue a man who got stuck in the chimney of a Connecticut Parks building while trying to retrieve his dog from a bathroom when the doors automatically locked for the night. I can sense that panic. You lose a pet. Police were called Sunday morning to Rockwell Park in Bristol for a burglary complaint. But if you're a dog,
And you get trapped in a toilet. Yeah. That's the best possible scenario. So they were told by Parks employees that someone was in the chimney. Firefighters responded to the scene and they got the man out after having to remove parts of the chimney and building causing $5,000 to $10,000 worth of damage. The man who was not injured was arrested and he was charged with burglary, trespassing, and criminal mischief.
Well, a New Jersey shore swimmer is recovering in the hospital after he was stabbed in the leg by an Atlantic needlefish. I've seen those things. But I've never heard of a needlefish attacking or hurting anyone before. But yeah, it happened over the weekend on Long Beach Island. And it was filled with heroin.
Oh, no. So there's another thing that I need to be afraid of in the ocean? Yeah, Kate. This is wildly uncommon. Yeah, authorities initially thought the swimmer had been bitten by a shark, but later said he had been stabbed by an Atlantic needlefish, which has a long jaw and sharp teeth. And it is rare for needlefish to become aggressive, but that was a unique thing that happened at the shore.
Speaking of the beaches, an ugly brawl broke out on a UK beach as part of a widespread disturbance across the country in a ludicrously hot weekend, according to the United Kingdom. In footage, two men could be seen trading blows on a beach in Broadstairs, Kent, while a group of at least 100 youths cheered them on. Wow. Stunned bystanders in their swimwear watch as the melee moved around the beach with one woman picking up a child to try and escape the chaos. Some youths could be seen on top of a beach hut
trying to avoid the clash. In the fight, several of the blows between the young men connect, leaving one of the attackers unsteady on their feet, but it was wild because there was a big crowd around them. And they were so incensed because it was so hot. It was 86 degrees. Oh, my God. This is insane. It's like living in hell. By the way, it's Haji Waji balls. So they can't stand a mild, warm summer day.
Let's see. This was weird. When a nightclub closes for the night, it's not uncommon to see items left behind like wallets and vapes and makeup products, lighters, stuff like that. But what they don't expect to see, however, is a partially eaten giant sausage. And that has left the staff of 147 in Coventry, England, perplexed.
Nightclub management estimated the sausage was originally about 12 inches long. Where are the sausages? And there are videos of clubbers dancing and taking pictures with the sausage throughout Saturday evening and into Sunday morning. Isn't there usually a club sausage? Why the sausage was in the club, however, is a mystery that will haunt the staff for days to come. They have no idea how it ended up there. But yeah, dance with the sausage. Dance. Yeah. Love that sausage.
All right, another story. Two black bears, and I saw the video of this, it's wild, stunned residents in Burnaby, British Columbia over the weekend when they engaged in a fierce, drawn-out brawl that was captured on camera. The dramatic encounter unfolded Saturday afternoon where residents watched from the safety of their cars as the two bears wrestled, growled, and snapped at each other in the middle of the road. You're going down. It looked like they were...
doing jujitsu oh really yeah i have to see this footage so my brother has a black bear that's been um frequenting his backyard he lives in new hampshire now and so he had a bird feeder and then he had put a camera on it and you see the bear climb the tree and then eat all the bird feed so he put the bird feeder up higher and he just sent me this video this morning the stupid bear climbed the thing even higher and now my brother's out there yelling at it like he's a dog he's like
He's named him Freddy. He's like, Freddy, get down. Get down, Fred. He has to know that bears are good.
Good climbers. Casey, my mother-in-law has to take her bird feeders down. They live in the Poconos every night because the bears come in and they just steal the bird. I have the converse situation in Mount Airy. I have to take my bear feeders in because the birds keep attacking me. So a witness named Matthew Chow was among those who recorded the confrontation. He said the two bears were fighting each other and it got intense at some points. They were ripping each other's fur out. Wow. He said, I don't think I'll ever see that again. The bears appeared completely unconcerned by the growing number of vehicles that were stopping by to watch.
staying laser focused on one another as they exchange blows. No one approached or honked, giving the animal space and let the confrontation run its course. I think I found that bug that flew in my nose. Is it behind your eye? Behind my nose earlier and I think I feel something in there. Are you actually seeing it walk behind your pupil?
Okay, it didn't come out. I just tried to blow my name. Anyway, update us later. I think we need an enema. Hey, wait. Maybe he can speak. Let me hold my nose up to the microphone and see if you can hear. You guys hear anything? Hang on. Oh, there he is. Hang in there, buddy. We'll be along in a little while. I'm on the radio. Okay. Any requests? Yeah, Rambo theme. No, no, not the Rambo theme. So, while black bear fights aren't unheard of, Dave,
What an amazing story. He was just walking through town.
All right. That's all I have in the book for you this morning. We'll end it right there. All right. So Marissa has gathered a few kids that are going to help us out with our scream off. And, of course, like I said, it's the sound of Amusements Parks, and it's the sound of roller coasters, and I love it. When you're off in the distance, all of a sudden you hear a chorus of people screaming. It is so much fun. Yeah.
One of our kids looks like they have a black eye or something. They're holding ice up to their face. It's sunscreen, Preston. Not sunscreen in her eyes. I've been there many times. I'm so sorry for you. Our first contestant is Kaylin. Hi, Kaylin. How are you? Good. How old are you, Kaylin? Eleven. And where are you from? What town do you live in? Mount Laurel. Great. Summer has started. You're out of school, right? Good for you. Have you ever been to Hershey Park?
Once when I was two. All right. Okay. Well, you're relearning everything now. Let me ask you a question. Do you do like theater or anything like that? Do you do like, you know, plays? Yes. You do. Okay. Why? Can you tell? Well, I just wanted to let you know that you have to commit to this. Okay. I thought he was getting all Harvey Weinstein here for a second. Oh, God. Stop that.
No, but you have to commit. You know, like this is, you got to act like you're really on a roller coaster. You have to sell it. Really, really screaming. By the way, Kaylin just turned 11 on June 13th. It was just her birthday. Oh, happy birthday. Thank you. All right, Kaylin, are you ready to scream like you're on a roller coaster? All right, and the best one, we're going to do by crowd applause. Who wins, okay? On your mark, get set, go. Oh, my gosh. Excellent. That was excellent. Everyone put their hands over their ears.
I had to take my headphones off. She's good. Yeah. She's good. That was like a shotgun blast. Yeah. Okay. All right, Kayla, good job. We'll see how you do. All right. Next, we have a young man named Asher who is coming over. Hi, Asher. Hi. Nice to meet you. How old are you, Asher? Six years old. Asher, that is a cool name, by the way, Asher. I like that name. Yeah. Do people say that a lot? They like your name? Yeah. Awesome. Have you ever been on a roller coaster before, Asher?
Yeah. All right. So we want you to think back to that time you were on a roller coaster and how exciting it was going up and down those hills and the scream sound that you would make. You ready to do it? Yeah. All right, Asher, hit it. Oh, yes. He went for high. A little bit of sustain. Asher, you did a great job. Oh, and by the way, you have a dog, don't you, Asher? No. Okay. Nice talking to you, buddy.
F off, Preston. It says here he has a cute dog named Maya. What are you, drunk? There's...
No. How many beers did you have last night? All right, next up we have Liv. Hi there, Liv. Hi. All right, what happened? What's going on? I got sunscreen in my eye. Oh, no. Well, at least listen. You're putting your sunscreen on. That's good. Listen, I have battle scars from that because I put it on my bald head and it goes into my eyes. And if you get it in your eyes and you have really strong sunscreen, it's terrible. So just keep that ice pack up there. Damn. All right, Liv, you're about to perform for us, but I understand you're used to performing because you're a musician, right?
What do you play? The flute. The flute? You've been playing that for a number of years? I just started playing it this year. Oh, well, good. It's funny when you have kids this young, you go, how long have you been playing that? Seven minutes. Yeah, right? Yeah, she's ten years old, by the way. All right, Liv, are you a fan of roller coasters? Yeah. Let's pretend like you're on one and give us a scream. On your mark, get set, and go. Whoa. Excellent. Excellent, excellent. Okay. Not a stinker in the lot. No.
All right, we got two more. This guy, oh, I talked to him earlier. This is Zach. Zachary, how you doing, buddy? Good. Nice to see you. We were just talking. You're looking forward to going on the big swing, right? Yes. The Twizzlers. I got to get the official name. The Twizzlers, what's the name of it? Twisted Gravity. That's a mouthful. Yeah, so he's finally tall enough. How old are you, by the way, Zach?
Six. And when do you turn seven? August 2nd. All right. Kids are incredibly aware of birthdays. Most definitely. They almost always know their own birthday. It's the day after Pierre Robert's birthday. I'm sure you knew that, right, Zachary? Yep. Jerry Garcia, Pierre Robert. All right, Zach, are you ready? Yeah. All right, scream like you're on the ride. Go. Oh. Whoa. All right.
We have one more to go and then we got to get a winner. And everybody, this is Leah. Hi, Leah. Leah. Oh, no. You're one of the... Oh, Star Wars? All right. L-E-I-A. Not Leah. Not Leah. It's like the Andreas are always picky about that. Oh, okay. All right. Andrea. Andrea. Andrea. All right. Leah, right? Okay. Somebody screamed in the background there. How old are you, Leah? Nine. Nine. And what do you like to do? What's fun for you?
To play baseball. What position do you play? Pitcher. No kidding. Do you have a 92 mile an hour fastball?
Do you like the Phillies? Do you like watching the Phillies play? Yeah. And who's your favorite player on the Phillies? Bryce Harper. Ah, good call. You have good taste. All right, Leah, let's get your best scream as if you're on a roller coaster. On your mark. Oh! Wait, hang on. Full start. On your mark, get set, go. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. And yes, I said go on purpose. Yes. Okay.
Alright, let's line them up here. And by crowd applause, and I know these are kids and you can't really decide. It's hard, but we need to know who you guys like the best. And we're going to start first. When I call your name, raise your hand. Kalen, what do you guys think? Alright, and then Asher, raise your hand, buddy. How about Liv? Then we had Zachary. And last but not least, Leah. Leah.
Wow. I told you, they were all good competitors. Man, that's too close to call. What are you guys saying? I think we just pretend we never did this contest. What contest are you talking about? Why don't we have a wrestling contest? Here's what we're going to do. We're going to give one prize bag to one person, and I think I'm going to make a call on this. You have to. Because I heard the applause. And then everybody else is going to get some Hershey products, okay? So everybody wins, no matter what. But I think Zachary had the largest prize. All right. All right. Zach?
There's your bag. And for the rest of you guys, we got some Hershey's chocolates, some Reese's peanut butter cups and all kinds of good stuff. So everybody wins. Thank you guys for being here. Love it.
All right, so we're going to take a break. We are in Chocolate Town right here at the opening of the park. When you come into Hershey Park, the rides are going to be opening shortly, and we'll get this day underway. But come and see us as we broadcast live from Hershey Park on MMR. We'll be right back. Have you used Alexa as a clock radio? And we don't mean as a projectile. Just tell her to wake you up to WMMR and let Preston and Steve rock your ass out of bed.
YouTube? Yep, we're there too. Watch the Preston and Steve Show live every morning. Or go back and see what you missed. Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. Thank you very much.
Casey and I just zipped down and around. We're here in Chocolate Town, and we went down to go get some coffee a moment ago. And as we're stopping along the way, we're meeting some people, and we've made it over here by the skin of our teeth. You did. All of a sudden, I hear Steve go, 20 seconds! Well, we're playing the new song by Mammoth. Mammoth. And so I'm like, okay, it's hard to pick a point in the song. 100!
How far are we into the song? But we're running around. There's so much to do, and it's easy to get distracted and pulled away because you're just looking up at the rides and all this. Nick, by the way, I don't know if you walked by that basketball game over here. No. So it says on the bottom of it, huge, button.
Bucknell University. I'm kidding. Yeah, so I guess it's sponsored by your alma mater. Wow, probably because of Jay Wright and not because of me, but I'll take it. Also, the bathrooms are air-conditioned. That's nice. Oh, this morning I found that out. I actually took a nap. This is glorious. By the way, it's going up to about 90 degrees again today, so a warm one, but not oppressively, disgustingly hot. I didn't even check the Hershey forecast.
About the same, about 88. Okay. So I'll tell you this, though. This park is extraordinary in the way that they provide heat mitigation options. You have, of course, the water park area and everything. Oh, man. But there's always some place if you need to duck in. There's a lot of shade around. So, yeah, you're not going to die. Dude, I have a story about the water park. I know we have a guest that we're going to welcome to the mic, but real quick, I'm going to tell you this story. This is when my kids were younger, and we brought them here, and one of my son Parker's friends said,
And we went, we were in the water park. Yeah. And there's, we wanted to go up on the absolute tallest slide that they had. And it was a busy, busy day. It was a hot summer day. And there were just tons of people in line. So we're slowly working our way up. And as you're going up this, to the top of the slide, there's water buckets pouring down on you. Yes. You're getting constantly soaking wet. People shooting water at you. The water was freezing.
freezing cold that day and I looked down it was his friend Zach and he looks up at me and we were like we're more than three quarters of the way to the top and I looked down and his lips were purple and he's like I can't do this anymore I'm like oh man I'm like we're almost there Zach can you hang on he's like I can't do it so we walked back down and we never went down
But on a really hot day, this water park is exactly what you need. They've got the big wave pool. They've got cabanas you can rent. It's such a cool setup. Speaking of a cool setup, there's another part of the park that you need to take advantage of while you're here. And that's why this park can be a multiple-day experience because you have the water park, because you have the thrill rides. But you also have Zoo America on top of that. We got a...
a number of years ago we got a special behind the scenes sort of tour of the facility. It was, you know, mind-blowing back then and I know they've made additions, but yeah, you cannot leave that off your itinerary. Yep, so we would like to welcome from Zoom America, this is Elaine, everyone. Good morning, Elaine. Welcome back. Thank you, happy to be here. What's your last name, by the way? It's Gruen. Gruen. Alright, and what is your job at Zoo America? I
I am an assistant director in education. Okay, so are you the one, if people sign up a special experience, you'll bring some of these animals out and show them to people? Either I will or the staff will. Okay. Mostly it's the staff. All right. And by the way, the zoo itself, how many different varieties of animals, ballpark-wise, are housed there?
Well, it's a North American zoo and we represent five different regions of the continent. Oh. And in total, we might have 60 to 80 different species. Okay. Wow. Now, this was several years ago. If you don't do this to this day, it's all good. But we...
had an experience where we actually got to feed some of the bears. Yes, we still do that. We have premium behind-the-scenes tours. One is called an early bird tour, and that happens prior to the zoo opening. It's an hour and a half. And the other one is the after-hours tour, and that happens an hour and a half after we close. That must have been the one that we were doing because the bear was holding a cocktail. That's right. Happy hour. But we weren't, right? No, just the bear. The after-hours. Yeah, right.
But we feed the bears, or you would feed the bears during the After Hours tour. It was amazing. You're the only bird you get to feed the wolves. Okay.
Seriously? Yes. Wow. Okay. So the bears, we fed things like marshmallows on sticks because they love sweet stuff. They do. What do you feed the wolves? Are you throwing them like steaks? Not marshmallows. Yeah, right? They're carnivores, so we would give them little meatballs. Okay. Do any of those meatballs have raisins? The way Nick's mom makes, and trust me, they're going to love it. No.
Are these free-range meatballs? I'm not sure about that. I can't give you an honest answer on that. These animals are living the high life. They're living the high life. And I assume after hours, they can access the rides as well. They can hear them, for sure. So, yeah, Zoo America is wonderful. What are the hours regularly for the zoo? In the summertime, we are open from 10 o'clock until 7. Okay.
And is it separate from Hershey Park? Or if you are in Hershey Park and you've paid your admission, you can go on into the zoo?
Yes. It's for both. When you enter Hershey Park, you can come over to the zoo for free if you enter from the Hershey Park side. So you can do both. I don't know why you want to do this, but you could do both separately. We're across the road from Hershey Park. Right. But you can access it over a bridge. Okay. Yeah. And so you brought an animal with you for us to see, which is awesome. We love this part. What...
What variety of animal do we have today? It's a reptile. Okay. Oh, is it a king cobra? I left that one back at the zoo. Oh, man. No, that wouldn't work because we're North American. How do reptiles do on really hot days like this? They're okay. Yeah? You know, we're out here. We're already sweating. Yeah. Our dogs are panting. Reptiles are a little different.
They take on the temperature of their surroundings. So if they're too hot, they actually have to go into the shade. Okay. To warm up, they go into the sun. So they're always going back and forth, sun, shade. So that's where you'll see. To a certain extent. So in the desert or something, you'll see a lot of times, you'll see, you know, they're under stones and things. Yeah. Or they'll go under burrows where the temperatures are a lot cooler. Or donkeys, whatever. Yeah.
If the donkey is... Yes. Casting shade. No, they're amazing. All right. So what type of reptile? What did you bring? It's a snake. A snake. Oh.
Do we have any people that have fears of snakes nearby? Yes, you look like you're terrified right there, young lady. So you lay down on your back. We're going to put the snake on your face. Okay. No, I'm kidding. It's all good. All right. Is it a constrictor? It is a constrictor. And a constrictor obviously kills its prey by constricting and crushing it. Yes. Okay.
Grabs its food and then wraps its body around it and squeezes. Okay. Do you want to bring this up to us? I would love to. Okay. What specifically do we have here? We're going to find out. Elaine is going to open up. She has a container. And that's the constrictor's coffee in that thermos present. With the lid on and she's opening it up and we're going to take a peek and we've got a nice crowd here, people that are going to see. Dude, that scared me too. Whoa. Whoa.
Oh, this is a gorgeous animal. Yeah, come on up. Oh, yeah. It's a yellowish, light brown. It's a yellow speckled finspur. Spotted. Case, can you hold the microphone up to Elaine? All right, Elaine. What do we have here? This is a gopher snake. A gopher snake. And this is one that does live out in the southwestern part of our country. You mentioned deserts. During the daytime, this snake would be underground. Okay.
In the cooler temperatures. Okay. It's a very nocturnal snake because of that. Are we to assume that it feeds on gophers?
It goes down into gopher burrows. It could eat maybe a young gopher. Okay. They are carnivores. They eat other animals. So young gopher, young rabbit, mice, rats, eggs. The surprising thing about snakes is that people think that they're slimy. They're not. They're very smooth. Yeah. Very dry. Yeah. They're a little bit bumpy. I think they feel a lot like a basketball. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. A football, whichever sport you like. I don't know.
I keep my basketball at home in a terrarium. When I was a kid, I learned, Elaine, that when they stick their tongue out like that, that means they're smelling the air. Is that still true? They're smelling the air. So they want to know where prey is.
They want to be able to determine if there's something dangerous in the area. And there are times of the year when they need to know when other gopher snakes are around. All right, so they're not venomous, but they do have fangs, correct? Or they do have teeth? They do not have fangs, but they have teeth. Okay. Frequently asked question is, can it bite? Yes. It has a mouth. It has teeth. But it really would only bite if it would be afraid.
I'm not scaring this. You're not frightening. I'm a little scared. Casey is a little scared. Be careful then.
So, no, it has no reason to bite us. We're not food. We're way too big to have for dinner. Do you sense, and people who are big snake aficionados, I think that we tend to think, well, it's not a dog, it's not a cat, it's not, there's that sort of, you know, human to animal interaction. But they'll say, no, they have personalities. And do you sense that or is that just a bunch of hooey?
We have a couple different gopher snakes at the zoo, and each one's a little bit different. So you see a definitive sort of personality shift, if that's appropriate. Okay, yeah. I always wondered because, yeah, people love them who...
Have them as pets. They do. So I'm taking a look at them and guesstimating he's about three to four feet long, something like that. Yes, they can get to be about six feet, give or take a couple inches. What are the largest snakes you guys have, or is this one of them? Right now, the largest species that we have that's venomous would be an eastern diamondback rattlesnake. Whoa.
It's not that big now, but it could be. And the other one would be an eastern indigo snake. They get to be quite large. How big would the rattler get at full adulthood? Six or seven feet. Six or seven. And obviously they're venomous. Yes, they are. We don't bring them out. No, probably not. That could turn bad. Yeah, Preston, they had the incident with the grizzly petting zoo. It didn't work out.
as a handler, like a rattlesnake, you guys, I would imagine, have to take it out of its enclosure from time to time. Man, how nervous do you get when you're doing something like that, Elaine? Luckily, I don't have to do that. Okay. How nervous does that intern get that you say that? I don't know if I want
They get trained. They get trained. They have a lot of experience. They're very careful. And we don't do it with hands. We do it with a snake. Yeah, one thing you do get the impression as you and we were on the tour is that everyone's very much into this, very learned, a lot of information at the ready. So it is a it's fun. It's fascinating. It's a learning experience. It's really cool. So how many snakes do you have in total? Oh, boy. I knew you were going to ask that.
Uh, let's say 10. Okay. I have no way to disprove that, so I'm going to say you're exactly right. And what's... Should have counted. What's your favorite animal at the zoo, you personally? I get asked that a lot, and, um, it's a peregrine falcon. Ah. The fastest animal on Earth, is it not? Right. Here we go. How fast can they go? Uh...
let me see. Is it above 200 miles an hour? Yeah. That's usually my answer. It covers everything then. Yeah. Over 200 miles an hour. Okay. All right. Yeah. Isn't it cool that they ended up in cities? You know, like there's urban, there's a bunch in Philly, there's nesting pairs. Yep. That's why it's so hard to get an apartment because the peregrine falcons are taking over. City living. Yep.
So when you visit the zoo, we often do animal encounters during the day. In fact, from 11 o'clock until 5, there's something going on at the zoo for guests to see. And, you know, you might see a snake like this or a different kind or a tortoise. We do animal enrichment activities where you can see animals engaging in an enrichment activity.
That's awesome. Excellent. It's a very active place. It's a great place to visit for friends and families. It's well laid out. It really is. Yeah. Again, I don't know why you would come here and not visit the zoo as well. It is something you need to check out. Good place to make memories. Excellent. Well, thank you, Elaine. We appreciate it. Elaine Gruen, guys. Zoo America. I love snakes.
It's like a piano. I can't walk past a piano and not hit a key. Yeah. You have a snake that close, you got to touch it. Do you remember the famous concert piano snake? No. It was amazing. I don't remember. Preston had played one note. One note at a time. Yeah.
He played Chopstick. I was talking to one of the reps, and just to give you a gauge, when we got here this morning, we parked at employee parking, and they brought us in through a security area where the staff comes in, and we are walking and walking and walking and walking, and I'm like...
Mike, I had no idea we were going this far. And the person that was accompanying me said, from front to back, from the entrance to the very back of the park, it's a mile. So what you really realize is that behind the scenes to make your experience here so amazing, there are so many moving parts. And I'll say this, and people are going to say, ah, you're just making this up.
But all the people that you encounter who are the employees love what they do here. They love being able to give this to the people who come to the park, and that's apparent from the second you get here. Russ, it's crazy that you say that because it doesn't feel like an enormous park. I know that there's a ton of things to do here, but it feels...
Un-normous. Un-normous, yeah. Not E-normous, but un-normous. But it is E-normous. Marissa got lost on the way here this morning. And she was like walking in the park. She texted, she's like, I'm crying. I can't, I don't know where I am. And I'm lost and I'm crying. There's people speaking Russian around me. Where am I?
But hopefully we'll start getting people on rides here shortly because that's part of the package that you get when you come in with us. And you can also get in, as Quinn was saying earlier this morning, there are packages that allow you to get in before the general public comes in and take advantage of the rides before everybody else gets on. Yeah, love it, love it. They got all kinds of stuff for you here. All right, so you know what we're going to do? We're going to take a break.
Okay. We're going to come back in a moment. We have some more that we're going to get to as we are here at Hershey Park. And hopefully you're on the way to join us. If not, come another time. But for those of you that are here, I should say, let's have a good time today. Yeah! We're going to take a break and we'll be right back from Hershey Park on MMR. Stay with us.

Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. Thank you, Marissa. Dude, I am dripping in sweat right now. And it is not from the sun beating down on me. It's from going on that ride. Yeah. I normally don't ride roller coasters early in the morning. And either I'm getting...
No, no. Maybe it's just a collection of all of that stuff. Oh my God.
Steve, number one, when we got done, the first thing everybody said was, that is the smoothest ride I've ever been on. Everybody was commenting on that. But the first drop, which is over 200 feet tall, Steve, it doesn't look like it from here. But as you go over and you crest, it actually goes inward. It doesn't go straight down. It goes more than that, inward. I love it. And that kind of freaked me out a little bit. So you guys went over, and you asked me if I wanted to go. I had to.
pee-pee so badly and i so i was riding the air-conditioned bathroom oh but the thing is a good ride too i came back out and you it's a very quiet coaster so i believe that it's as smooth as you say it is because it's you don't listen you guys are hauling the ass on that thing but you don't hear the usual rattle and all that stuff breston when we got to the top i knew what was coming i knew that the drop was on the other side of it it still surprised me uh yeah
Oh my God. And then that descent was, you got kind of lifted out of your seat a little bit. You're pulling G's almost. So it's one of those rides where, Steve, they clamp down on your thigh so your upper body is moving around freely. Yes. And those are the rides that give you the zero G. Yep. So when you go up on the top of the hill, which by the way, didn't it feel like it was a
as it went up those hills? Yes. Yes, it did. And that's how you get those zero-G feels when you finally crest that hill. Yeah. We're getting nods. I did the hands-up thing. I'm not normally a hands-up guy. I just decided to just jump out of my comfort zone for a little bit. Yeah. That's the way to go, bro. Dude, that was wild. That was incredibly entertaining. The word hero gets tossed around. I know, Casey. Yeah. It's impressive. Yeah.
You can say it. Thank you. You don't have to mean it. Listen, to ask some more questions, we actually have the senior PR manager of Hershey Park here. This is Amanda, everybody. Hello there, Amanda. I'm Amanda.
I did not ride a Candamonium with you, and I am still sweating. So you can go for the ride, I promise. Okay, so it's not just the ride. It is the heat, too. Because I'm like, we're walking back, and I'm like, dude, I'm really pouring sweat. I think the ride got to me. To Preston's point, the roller coaster is accelerating as it goes up. It does, yeah. That's portable.
part of the horsepower the way the coaster is designed to really get you to accelerate to go over those hills. Candemonium is so special because you do have those zero-g experiences where you're coming out of your seat. You get this massive airtime. We have a big hammerhead curve all the way out on Park Ave. So you get some incredible views as you're coming back into the station. And it's just such a fun ride. Like you guys said, insanely smooth. The manufacturer is B&M and they're known for that.
So we were really excited when we got to put this one in in 2013. What is a hammerhead curve? What is that? It's the way you, the curve banks. Yeah. So if you remember when you were on it and you went all the way out before you came back around, that like bank that you made is called a hammerhead curve. That's like the industry term for it. I do like all those terms they have. It makes your eyes go on either side of your head. Oh, yeah.
It goes all the way up to the side. What did you think of the bank around the Kisses Fountain? That was really cool. At the very end, the last maneuver you make is a very tight turn and it's around the Kisses Fountain. In fact, that fountain, in case you can't, it's kind of obscured a little bit by the track, but it's meant to mimic the shape of a Hershey's Kiss. You can tell. It's got the little flag coming out. The plume. Is that what that's called? The plume, the little pull tab thing? Yes. And we have
really awesome light packages for that. So it's kind of a moment, a selfie moment when you're coming into the park. So when you're here for Halloween, it turns orange. When you're here for Christmas, it turns red. So lots of opportunities for some cool photos. So just to a point, the coaster just came by the closest to us
And you really can't hear it. You can't. So when you're going past the fountain, Preston, is there any cooling mist that comes up from it? No, I was like a half gallon. It'd come out of me by then. No, not at all. But I did have a question about Wildcat. Is Wildcat's Revenge now? And so they were telling me that it's that original wooden structure, but they completely redid the tracks, and it's as smooth or smoother than Candymonium. It is.
From a personal experience, I would think Candemonium's a little bit smoother just because Wildcats Revenge has four inversions. So the intensity of it is definitely present. But Wildcats Revenge opened in 2023, 100 years after the first Wildcat was installed in the park. We did take some of the original wood and we combined it with steel. That's what makes it a hybrid coaster. And that coaster, after it opened, immediately won industry awards. People are traveling from all over the world for it.
I love the original incarnation because it's just such a classic. It is. But I would assume that if you employ wood with the metallic structure, that that sort of buffers at least a little bit of the vibration, correct? It does, yes. And you can feel that when you're riding the coaster, which makes for a really unique experience. Oh, it's awesome. So what right now, obviously, what is the superstar? I think I know the answer. What's drawing the most people to the park right now?
Well, we... I mean, Wildcats Revenge, for sure, is still drawing a ton of people. I was telling Preston earlier that Skyrush, we just added new seats in Restraint. So that coaster is continuously one of the top-ranked in the world. And that one is still drawing people here. But then Twizzler's Twisted Gravity is our new ride for this summer. And that has certainly gotten some really great guest reviews. I mean, as soon as season pass holders were able to get on it first...
The reviews on it were phenomenal. It's a really unique ride for our park because it's a high thrill, what they call flat ride. So you get some of the intensity of a coaster, but families who don't like coasters can also go on it. At the zenith of the swing, how far are you up?
Well, it depends. So it's 137 feet in the air, which is world record breaking. But given the fact that we essentially installed the ride on the side of a cliff with Spring Creek right below it, if you're sitting on a certain side of Twisted Gravity, when you come up over the creek, you're at about 160 feet from the base of that creek. That's insane. People literally look like specks.
When I rode it for the first time and I sat on that side, I was like, I'm questioning my life choices. I don't know what is happening. That is amazing. Amanda, what are some of the other things since you've got the mic that you guys want to highlight? I just think that our ticket is an incredible value. Three experiences in one, which is something we've been talking about throughout the morning. We have
more than 70 rides with our new Twisted Gravity. The zoo is included. You can walk across the bridge. We have our water park, so on a hot day like today, it's a great place to cool off. You get all of that right now for under $50. We have an Everyone Pays Kids price ticket through Monday. That's great. It's an incredible deal. Dude, you do hear... It's...
I wanted to appeal to the people who think this is either a kid's thing or it's not. You know, honestly, and we've talked about this, all of us on the show, about, you know, the various ages and stuff. The truth of the matter is, you come into Hershey, all of you are
All of it, you just start to feel better. And the way the park is laid out and the way you're approached, the way the park staff greets you, and the layout, the rise of the experiences, it's all meant to make you smile. It'll break you if you come in here pissed off. It's going to make you feel better. And I would say, Preston, you know it happens instantaneously. So you owe it to yourself if you've not been out here to make your way out to Hershey because it is awesome. Thank you.
Take the words Hershey Park happy lightly. And I love what you said about the layout. Our park was intentionally designed so that kiddie rides are placed throughout the park. Yes. In areas where we have high thrill attractions, a lot of other amusement parks, they have a kiddie section and then it's the rest of the park. Yeah. No matter where you're at within our park, there are going to be kiddie rides. So I have two little ones. My life right now is riding convoy and traffic jam with them. But if I have a babysitter and I can sneak off and I can get on Wildcats Revenge, they're literally right there. That's great. It's...
It is strategically designed for that reason, and I think that that's something that draws a lot of families here. Yeah, Amanda, it's one of my favorite things about this park is the fact that I noticed that the first time I came here because we had kids of various ages, and some of them were restricted to the kiddie rides.
and we were able to walk through the entire park and along the way, hey, there's another one, go over there, let's ride that, and then over there's a bigger ride, and we're going to go ride that, and you stay with the youngest, and it's laid out perfectly. I love it. Excellent. I was chatting with Jeff and Quinn from the PR side of things a little bit earlier, and they were saying that when they're in the offices...
They tend to want to get back outside. So there are stretches throughout the week. Well, they're going to work outside just because they want to be a part of the park. They'll go and work on rides. Do you do that as well, man? Oh, I do that as much as I can. I mean, obviously being in this industry that I'm in, in PR, I love to get out and talk to people. We also run our channel's social media pages. So that is really an important aspect. But then...
I kid you not, like three times a week during the summer, my husband picks up the kids from daycare, brings them over. I meet them right from the office and walk over here and we spend a couple hours in the park and it's the best night. And it tires them out. I have to assume every time the temperature climbs above 90, you're taking your paperwork outside. I got to do it outside. Exactly. A lot of people think our
corporate offices are right inside the park. They're not. They're on Chocolate Ave in downtown, but through our beautiful windows, it's an older building. We have incredible views of all the rides here. So we can see Great Bear testing in the morning. Now Twisted Gravity added to our skyline makes for some really incredible views. Those offices, that building up there, I was told those are offices as well. Those are offices. Those are corporate offices as well. And it used to be part of a golf? Yes. Okay. There we go. I'm learning.
Amanda, so it's 9.07 right now and just a whole bunch of people come walking in. Is the park now officially open or what is happening now? So the park is officially open at 10 o'clock today, but we do open our gates a little bit early, usually around an hour early, so people can come in and enjoy Chocolate Town. If you're not a season pass holder or a resort guest and you don't have access to our one-hour early Sweet Start, you can come in and enjoy Chocolate Town.
You still have an opportunity to shop in Supply Co., grab a drink from Starbucks, take in the views, maybe get your selfies. And then we open officially at 10, and then you have access to the whole park. Excellent. That's when the rides and water park and everything starts moving. Excellent. All right. Thank you, Amanda. We appreciate it. All right. Let's hear it for Amanda, everyone. Thank you.
Wow. Man, I now wish I had time to get over to the water park because I want to go. Now I'm hot. I want to go jump. And I completely hadn't even thought about that today. Yeah. But I got to get over there, Alex. I'm smelling popcorn now. Yes. Yep. Oh, my God. That smells so good. So I love, you know, we went and rode the ride and then we came back. The crab was gone because the park had opened for those guys. Yep. And, you know...
That makes you so happy. That's what this is all about. I know. And to see the families with the kids and everything and this kind of thing, it's so awesome because they're just a couple of people. Some of the people here are complete newbies to Hershey. And it's like, man, you know what they're in for.
Since the crowd is going to be leaving, like everybody's going to go and ride rides, should we do our last contest that involves a listener's case? I think we should. The one where I close my eyes or I'm blindfolded? No. No, we were going to do the dancing one. Oh, man. Are you okay with that? I don't think I'm ready for this. Let's try it. Okay. All right. So where's Marissa? It's interpretive dance. Where did she go?
Yeah, there's a band. I think she was trying to... Oh, there she is. Oh, she's bringing a band. Oh my God. Now I don't have to dance. Alright, so I'm looking at a group of guys. We have a tuba, a sax, a drum kit, a trumpet, and they're making their way over, so I guess Marissa just kind of wandered off and they're following her now. Leave it to Marissa to go find a band. I know. And look, she's got a mastodon with her. Here they come. Come on over, guys.
They can't hear me because they're playing their instruments. This is one of the things I also love about Hershey. They have these roving music groups. Oh, isn't she lovely? Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Sax solo. Get some. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, trumpet solo. So as you're hanging out in certain parts of the park, the next thing you know, all of a sudden, or if you're just walking along, you come across different groups like this that are playing music. It is, everybody stops and gathers around. It's just a cool little added flourish. All right.
Do the solo. Preston, I got him. Is that, this heat and this sun, is that hot? What, standing out there doing that? I mean, holding on to that metallic. Hell yeah. I have a feeling this is the last verse here. Or last chorus, I should say. Yeah! Yeah!
Preston, do you think you could try the drums? I can definitely try the drums. Can Preston try the drum? Can I play your drums? Yes! Yes!
I won't have the mic. All right. Uh, we've got the, uh, the, uh, what do you call it? The wireless server. Is there a band leader in the, uh, in the group technically? Oh yeah. The saxophonist. What's your name? Hi, I'm Luke. Luke. Where are you from? Luke. Uh, state college. How long have you been playing the, uh, the saxophone? 13 years. Wow. Luke, I have something to tell you. I'm your father. Oh, I hear that a lot. No. So, and who's in the band with you? Um,
I have Evan Baxter on the trumpet. We have Elijah Bradley on the drums. Excellent. And Brian Veneman on tuba. Right, he's the one who has the hernia. Hey, so are you guys all college students by any chance? Me and Elijah just graduated. Congrats. And Evan Baxter and Brian, they're still in school. Still in school. We all go to Penn State. All right, excellent. You guys are terrific. So can we play just a little bit of the song with me on drums?
Yeah, I'll just jump in. What was next on your list? What do you want to play? In a Gata De Vida. With the solo. What song is it? Hershey Park Happy. Oh. Hershey Park Happy. I'll sing, too. All right, do it. What's the count? All right, okay.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Never had one lesson.
Nice work, Preston. I wonder what it's like for the drummer to look at Preston playing on his... Well, I guess I'm out of a game. It's like finding someone with your wife. Yeah, and they're doing a better job than you. No, dude, he's great as well. That's terrific. You guys, listen. You look very up and ebullient on a very hot day walking around and making the music for people. You're good people for doing that. Thank you, guys. Great job. Appreciate it. Thanks for letting me sit in, Elijah. That was fun.
I'm sure he's a way better drummer than I am, actually. Young and tall and good-looking. He's got all that going on. His whole life ahead of him. Listening in the sun. He's never said could go. Look at that. He never said could go? Not once. Not once did he say could go.
Oh, my gosh. Put that on your resume, kid. I love that we are here. This is so much fun. All right, so do you want to try the interpretive dance contest? He doesn't want to do this. He really doesn't want to do it. Do you want to try movie clip? I mean, I know it's...
It's there. Here's what we were going to do. I think this would work, Preston. Casey was going to do a dance that is an interpretation of one of the Hershey products. Marissa made this board over here. It's beautiful. Let's do that. She knitted that herself. I'm going to describe for our radio listening audience. Newman University has the video that you can watch as we're streaming on YouTube. Casey's going to do a dance
That is an interpretation of one of these fine Hershey products. And if you can identify what he's doing, then we have a prize bag that we're giving away, right? Okay. So who would like to try to interpret what Casey is doing dance-wise? Just raise your hand, and we'll bring you over. Okay, come on over. We're running out of people because all the rides open up. You'll be next, all right, buddy? All right. All right.
What is your name, Ms. Jersey Shore? Michelle. Michelle's wearing a shirt that says Jersey Shore State of Mind. Are you from New Jersey? Originally, yeah, but now I live in Delaware. All right, excellent. Well, all right, so this young man, what is his name, by the way?
Kaden? All right, Kaden is holding up a sign that has the various Hershey products on. Casey is going to do a dance, and you have to pick one of those that you think he is interpreting via his body movements. I think you'll get it. I think you'll figure it out. Yeah, we only got a couple of these. By the way, I'm already sweating. This is going to make me sweat so much more. Yeah, man, it's going to look hot. It's so hot. Take your shirt off.
I will give you $5 if you take your shirt off. He's going to do it. Oh, my God. All right, I'll give you $5. There it is. They probably kick you out of the park for doing something like that. All right, so take your shirt off. Yeah, take your shirt off.
But there is a water park. All right. Anyway, I'll give you $5 in a little bit. All right. I'll give you $10 if you put your shorts back on. All right. Casey's first dance. Like I said, for the listening audience, I will do my best to describe it, and then we will ask you what you think it is. You ready? I'm ready. All right. Case, good go. All right. Here's our first dance. Oh, and we got music. I love it.
All right, he is waving his arms back and forth in a twisting, winding motion in front of him. What do you think that dance that he is doing? I'm going to go with Twizzlers. And you are right! Woo!
You see? All right. All right, we're going to give you a prize bag. Hang close. We'll get it in a moment. We can do that at the end if you want, Marissa. Or we can have somebody else hand them off. All right. Caden, nice job holding the sign. You're doing great. Caden's great. Kid in the blue, come over here. Because he raised his hand first, and I want to make sure that he gets a chance to...
See how this works and maybe get a chance to win something. All right. What's your name, young man? Beckett. Beckett. What a great name. That is a great name. And where are you from, Beckett? Medford. Medford, New Jersey. All right. And have you been to Hershey Park before? Yes. All right. What's your favorite ride here? Do you know?
I forgot the name, but it was a water ride. It was a water ride. Are you going to do the water part today? Yeah. Excellent. All right, Beckett. Casey's going to dance, and it's going to be one of those Hershey products. Are you ready? Yes. All right, here we go, Case. Case is starting his dance. All right, his arms are rotating, rolling. A rollo. It's correct, yes. Sing, Beckett. You're a natural. Nice, Beckett. We're going to give you a prize bag over there.
Casey was doing the, I don't know, what do you call that motion? What do you think that is? I don't even, the rollo? His fists are going over top one another. Let me suggest something. When Beckett grows up, you need to go to CSI Candy Division. Yeah. Because I think you can use it at the crime scene. Absolutely. All right, next contestant. Chocolate, or I'm sorry, Hershey's Interpretive Dance. What is your name? You got it.
Is giving any Hershey Park tickets away? What's your name? Joe. Hi, Joe. Nice to see you, bud. All right. Yeah. For years, people would call in asking if we were giving away Hershey Park tickets, even when we hadn't been coming to Hershey Park for a few years. That's how much they love this place. Yes. All right. Interpretive dance time. All right. So this one I actually did for you yesterday, Preston. So this is going to be I think this one is is difficult. OK. You got to put your thinking hat on. OK. OK.
He's actually wearing a hat and it just might be his thinking hat. Alright, start the music and here we go. Casey's next dance. He's kind of... Oh, this is a tough one. Yeah. He's moving his shoulders up and down and his head is going left and right. I will tell you it has to do with an animated character from back in the day. And it's a dance that sometimes you'll see in GIFs. Or GIFs if you call it that. Or HIFs. So what do you think that dance was that he was doing?
You had to pick one of them. Let's go with York Peppermint Patch. Yes!
From the Charlie Browns. It was in the Peanuts show or in the specials that they would air. They would sometimes have a segment when they were dancing. And the kids were all doing the same move over and over and over. That wasn't the one that Peppermint Patty was actually doing. No, not the dirty pig pen isn't the one. Is it Pig Pen that does that one? I don't remember. But Peppermint Patty is part of that crew. So thank you, Joe, for getting that. Especially because your wife...
I was the only person who didn't win the contest earlier this morning. Oh! Yeah. Sorry about that. There you go. All right, Casey, how many more dances do you have? I got, I think, at least two more. All right, Hershey's Interpretive Dance, and our next contestant, what is your name? Zoe. And Zoe, another great name. Where are you from, Zoe? I'm from Richmond, Virginia. Richmond, Virginia. Yes, the whole family came in from Richmond, Virginia, Preston. You're wearing a Redding Phillies jersey. What's that all about?
My parents are from New Jersey. Okay, they're from New Jersey originally, but you guys now live in Virginia. Wow, and you came all the way from... Have you been to Hershey Park before? No. All right! There you go. Are you a roller coaster fan? No. Okay. Then it's going to be wonderful. Yeah. What are you going to do today? What do you want to ride? Are you going to do the water park?
We're going to eat some chocolate. You know what's fun to do? Read a good book. Yeah. All right. You ready for the dance? Yeah. All right. Let's try this out. Casey's going to dance. I'll tell you what he's doing. All right. So he's blowing. Kisses. Yes. He's touching his lips and sending it out, blowing kisses. And she got it right. And we only have one more. And I think this is Zoe's dad that's coming over here. Yes. Mr. Zoe. Hi. What's your name? Jason. Hi, Mr. Zoe. Jason. Nice to meet you. Hi, Mr. Jason.
How many kids do you have, you guys have, by the way? You have two of them. You brought them both with you today? Yes, I did. Excellent. Thank you for being here. Thanks for having us. All right. You're the last one to give it a shot here. It's an interpretive dance. It's going to be one of these products. It's a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup or Mounds or Kit Kat or who knows which one. He's Jolly Ranchers. Casey's going to dance. Let's see if he can identify, and I'll do my best to describe. Here we go. He is licking his paw, and he is rubbing his ear. What would Kit Kat? Kit Kat!
Well done. Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar.
All right, nice job, bud. Appreciate it. Case, thanks for doing that. Does our sign holder get something? I felt stupid. You looked good. No, you were great. To me, it was very Twyla Tharp. It was very avant-garde. That is two Twyla Tharp references in one week. Did we? Wow. That's crazy. We talked about the Billy Joel musical. That's right, which is choreographed by Twyla Tharp or inspired by Twyla Tharp. Nick and I have talked about this off-air on many occasions where...
When you present something on air and you're not sure if it's going to go well or you don't feel like it's going well, you start to sweat. Uh-huh. And like, so... Especially when it comes from us. Uh-huh. Like if it's a Preston or Steve idea, yeah, we'll skate by. Yeah, that's fine. But when it's you and you're dying on the stage in front of everybody...
A little while ago, I saw a man tell a little girl that she has to sell it. She has to put her heart to it. And that man was Casey. That guy should listen to his own advice. Exactly. You're damn right. So the last one you did was Kit Kat. And earlier this morning when I was looking for a stupid question, I ended up going with one.
Milton Hershey's wife, Catherine. So her nickname was Kitty. Yes. And I thought maybe that might have been the inspiration for the name of the Kit Kat bars. It is not. Oh.
And so I decided to look up Kit Kats, and that's how I found out it was not. But what I was surprised by was, do you guys have any idea what year that Kit Kats were produced and when they were sold? Introduced? Okay, so if you were to take a guess. You're saying that I'm going to go for much earlier than we would have assumed. I'm going to go.
With 1511. Wow. Not 1511. See, I'm going to go the opposite because I feel like... You think it's a more recent perfection? You would think that it's been around for a while, but I've known about Kit Kats for my whole life. So I'm going to say 1975. All right. Let me amend that then. I'm going to go 1976. Oh, you bastard. Nick, what do you think? 1922. Okay. So the original four-fingered version of the bar...
was launched in September of 1935. Wow! Nick, you win the showcase. All right. I had no idea. Yeah, Nick McElroy! Yes, Nick, you win in the Manor Raider ring. And Eskidu! You know what I'd be thrilled? If my prize was a Kit Kat. I freaking love Kit Kats. They're a damn good bar. Thank you. Thank you.
He won the whole showcase. No, I found it was very interesting. It was 1935, and the commercials didn't start happening until 1955, and that's when the slogan was kind of like the one that we know. It was called, Have a Break, Have a Kit Kat. Yes, I remember that. But
But since 1986, the jingle was, give me a break, break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar. So that didn't start until the mid-80s. I started purchasing around 1928. Yeah. I remember that. I will say this, Preston, and you know this is a fact that you will learn quickly when you come out to the area. Milton Hershey's first foray into candy was not chocolate.
It was, Preston? Caramel. Yes, he sold caramels. And I think that business went under. And I think it was inspired by the dairy farmers out here creating milk chocolate. And then it was wild because they needed the land for the cattle. And there were stones all over the place in these fields. So he had workers remove all the stones.
And so they had all this leftover stone and he decided to use that to build the housing for the people to live in. Whoa. And yeah, it was this whole thing that snowballed. This dude was... Very much an enemy. For a brief period, he actually attempted to manufacture cows. Wow. And that did not go well. Yeah. They're making a movie about him, right? Richard Kind is going to be in it. And this is a
Big Hollywood production. Yeah, I didn't know that. Yeah, and I'll look up the details. I would look them up now, except on the other side of the board where I was sitting, it's a thousand degrees warmer than where I'm standing. Yeah, I know it well. Yeah, I know. A listener texted in earlier this morning, Preston, and asked, what was Hershey called?
before Milton Hershey founded the town. Do you know the answer to that? No. It was Derry Township. It was an unincorporated town. I had to look it up. I had no idea. So Derry as in Derry Farming, right? No, Derry. D-E-R-R-Y. Oh, like Stephen King. Yeah, I guess. Yeah, probably. And England. I think there's a town called Derry over there. But it was an unincorporated township. And when Milton Hershey founded the town, obviously he was named after him. It's an amazing thing. It really is. Wow.
Well, it's definitely a place to experience. If you haven't been here, we highly suggest that you come by for a visit. You were talking about Kit Kats earlier, and I just wanted to say that I am still, to this day, incapable of eating the Kit Kat bar like a savage. I have to break it and eat it one at a time. Yeah. We've got a guy over here acknowledging full on. I agree with that. Have you ever seen somebody bite into it? Yes. I saw one guy. No. Saw one guy do that? John Wayne Gacy. Oh, my God.
All right, you draw your own conclusion. All right. You draw your own conclusion. Wow. No, the Kit Kat. That's terrifying. I love the frigging Kit Kat bar. The problem with the Kit Kat bar is that if you have the little Halloween fight sign. Yes.
You do math in your brain. You say, well, what equals an actual full Kit Kat? And I'm usually off by 50 or 60. About 80, I think. You just inhale those suckers. All right. We're going to go back to the movie real quick. The Milton Hershey biopic is being produced. It's being directed by...
The guy that did Mean Girls, Mark Waters, starring Richard Kind as one of the actors in it. I don't think he's playing Milton Hershey. No, Vin Diesel is. No. It's a guy named... No caramel. A guy named Finn Whitrock. I've never heard of that. Finn Whitrock? He was in American Horror Story, but it also stars as Kitty Hershey, Preston, Alexandra Daddario. Oh.
Oh, my God. Yeah. The goddess. Alan Ruck from Succession and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He's going to play Milton's father named Henry. I'm trying to see if there's any... David Constable. Well, that's pretty cool. Breaking Bad. He's one of the actors in it. Anyway, so yeah, they're in the midst of making this movie right now. Okay.
Maybe one of the after credits will be Casey doing his interpretive dances. I think so. Like a go-go girl. What I would say is this. Certainly, when they have the premiere, I'm sure they'll do one here. Yeah. I think we need to be back here. I think we need to be back here for that. Absolutely. Well...
Today is fun. We're still having a good time. The crew, there's an ample of people that are hanging out because everybody had to once they hit the park, and I don't blame you. No. Get out of here and go enjoy it. By the way, if you're smelling bacon, that is my taint in the sun.
That was a Richard Wright play, right? Yeah. I remember my teams in the sun. All right. Why don't we take a break? We'll come back in a second. We've got the Bizarre File on the way. We're live at Hershey Park for a broadcast. First time since 2018. We're very happy to be back. Coming back in a moment on MMR. Stay with us. Some things never change. But WMMR's phone and text number has.
Or go back and see what you missed.
Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. Awesome. Thank you, Marissa. Something I definitely want to mention that's happening today, and the only reason that Casey and I are not hosting this event is because we're here at Hershey Park today, but I'm sure we'll be back doing it next year, but today is Wawa Hoagie Day. Yes. It's part of the Wawa Welcome America celebration, and this is taking place on Independence Mall right by the National Constitution Center, and I want to give a big plug for those who can't make it to Hershey. Go to this event.
It's absolutely free. In fact, not only are the Wawa hoagies free today, but admission to the National Constitution Center is free today as well. And if you've never been, it's definitely worth checking out. Yep, and it's a salute to our local and national heroes as well. So they're going to serve 25,000 shorty hoagies.
In total, it weighs seven tons. The first 10,000 are being donated to Phil Abundance, the Veterans Multiservice Center, and Police Athletic Lead Centers. And then the remaining 15,000 hoagies are going to be served free at noon in front of the National Constitution Center. And you can just stop by and get in line and get those.
They're also going to have... This is what Casey and I usually host, is the hoagie building competition, which is so much fun. It's a brawl. Yeah, and it's a doubleheader. So it's members of the Philadelphia Police Department against members of the Philadelphia Fire Department. And then they have the military represented. So this year, it's the PA Army National Guard and Navy Talent Acquisition Group taking on members of the PA Air National Guard's 111th Attack Wing. So that will be happening shortly before noon.
Or maybe that happens right afternoon. Anyhow, after they serve up the hoagies. And then they have live music. The Six String Soldiers, which is a five-member country music group, is going to be performing too. So it's definitely worth your time to go down to Independence Mall today. Absolutely. Grab some free food. Just follow the crowd. You'll see everybody there. It always draws really, really well. I think one year I'd like them to do one of those hoagies and feed it to a kaiju.
Oh. Wouldn't that be cool? Sure, yeah. So, Anuya Lachelle from NBC10 is going to be filling in for us this year's case, but we'll be back next year. I'm going to miss it.
I know, I know, but we're here. Yeah, we are here. And speaking of food, man, you should see the stuff that they brought over for us. Our friends from Hershey Park brought over these incredible creations. I'm looking at the Twisted Strawberry King Size Shake. These things are insane looking. It's a vanilla milkshake with strawberry sauce, whipped cream, Twizzler cookie crumbles, vanilla icing, pretzels.
pretzels, white chocolate dip, Twizzlers, and a Twizzler moose pop on top of it. I've never seen anything quite like that. I'm donating. One was handed to me. I'd like this young man here to have. It's yours, dude. You want it? Yeah. He walked over. It's a big, luscious shake dessert. You want this one, bud?
Is that Andrew? Andrew, do you want this? Do you want this? Come on. He's like, oh, my God. It's the size of Andrew. Yes. Andrew, how old are you?
He's five. Yeah, this thing is half the size of him. That's amazing. Look at how happy that kid is. Look at that smile. Good luck to Andrew's parents for the rest of the day. Yeah, yeah. They also brought over the, wow, what is all this stuff? The strawberry cheesecake donut, strawberry French toast burger. Oh, the twisted gravity dog. Is that it, Case? Yeah, I saw that. I want that. Whoa. Is that like a chili dog?
I'm going to suck on it like it is. All right, so hot dog on a brioche bun with strawberry rosemary jam, feta cheese, and bacon brittle. I'll take one of those too, bud. Wow. You read the ingredients and it's like, yes, I will have that. I will have that. Thank you, buddy. Appreciate it. Oh, my God. It's a footlong, by the way. Do you know who's showing them that? One footlong. Massive Reserve is one Nick McElwain, who is the great white of the show. Well, Steve, it's...
It's because I'm eyeing up that chicken sandwich. Ah, yeah. All right. So that's the crispy chicken sandwich with Twizzler's hot honey sauce, Nick. Uh-huh. Hand-breaded chicken, Twizzler's hot honey sauce, lettuce tomato on a brioche roll. Oh, man. And then they have the twisted Twizzler mocktails as well. Strawberry puree, lime juice, simple syrup, starry soda, and garnished with a Twizzler as well. Did you say mock? No.
Mock. Yep, that's it. So they've got everything that you want and more. They also have the strawberry French toast burger, which looks like that's what that is over there. And that's a bee patty on Texas toast, palm of strawberry, rosemary jam, brown sugar bacon, cream cheese, and maple syrup. Wow. By the way, Taylor, if you could come over to the microphone here, which restaurant or Amanda? We'll get Amanda on.
Where do you get these from? These foods? We have them all over. So the mocktail and the chicken sandwich are at the Chocolatier, which is in the building that we're right next to right here. So it's a full-service restaurant. It's open daily. So you can come in for lunch or dinner. Reservations are strongly encouraged, but you can also walk up the patio that overlooks Chocolatown and is first-come, first-served. So you can grab a mocktail.
Or as Quinn had said earlier, a cocktail and enjoy this chicken sandwich. Our award-winning king-size shakes are from Simply Chocolate, which is actually the rest of the food is from inside the park. Our burgers from East Coast Burger Works, they're also doing a burger of the month. So our...
Shout out to our F&B team because they take things to the next level here. They are incredibly talented. It's never basic in Hershey, which, of course, when you're coming to Hershey Park, you want the deliciousness of chocolate and Twizzlers infused in everything. If you're going to go do it, you do it like this. That's their motto. Yeah, that's absolutely right. No, I love it. This is great stuff. F&B is food and beverage, but what I heard was the F&B team. I mean.
You didn't hear it from me. That's my head, not yours, Matt. Give it up to the F&B team, man. And our creator, our director of F&B, Olivia, shout out to her. She created the King Size Shake almost 10 years ago now, and her nickname is the Milkshake Maven. So they do have some, I mean, they would like that saying. Wow, and then they're bringing over another thing. That's the Twisted Flights of Tower Fries.
Vanilla soft serve ice cream with Twizzlers cookie crumbles on top, cherry cone dipped Twizzlers, and fresh cut fries. So you dip your fries in the ice cream. Marissa's doing it as we speak. Or the Twizzler in the ice cream. I love it. All right. Thank you, Amanda. Appreciate that. All right. With all that, yes. With all that, I'm hungry, so let's do the Bizarre Files, and then I can eat. So here we go. Go ahead. Bizarre. WMMR presents Kristen and Steve's Bizarre Files.
Brought to you by Pella Windows and Doors, celebrating 100 years. Right now, save $250 off windows, $700 off doors, and 0% APR for 48 months. So a suspect dressed in a Scooby-Doo suit broke into a quick stop in Alabama early Sunday morning. Has anyone heard from Bill Weston? I know. He has a Scooby-Doo outfit. Yes, he does. Officers responded to the scene after the story. I get off security.
He does. Security alarm was triggered at 345 a.m. The burglar made off with cash and coins but left snacks untouched. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a voracious love of Scooby treats. And authorities are urging anyone with information to call them. All right, a world-famous lion whisperer.
is now fighting for his life after he was savagely mauled by a lion that he spared last year when it killed his colleague. Help, stop attacking me. The animal brutally attacked Oleg Zubkov, inflicting serious head, neck, and lung wounds, and is now in critical condition in the hospital. That's like a Siegfried and Roy thing. He was left inside the enclosure during feeding time at Tegan Safari Park, which he founded in Russian-occupied Crimea. They said the people around the enclosure could hear his whispers of help.
A witness said there was a terrible panic. The lion dragged the man by the neck like a toy and pulled him under a viewing platform, which is on a bridge over the enclosure. A park employee, Tatiana Alexagina, risked her own life by driving up closer than the enclosure with a buggy and throwing a bucket at the lion, which released the man from its jaws.
She said we shouted for her to come back and she threw the bucket at the animal, which freed the man before she ran away, according to a witness. I employed the old bucket at the lion trick. A park visitor climbed down a pipe into the enclosure to help rescue her, rescue the man. And she said our companion, Alexi, jumped into the enclosure, but...
Oh, man. Oh, man.
killed a member of the staff like a year ago and they refused to destroy this guy who is now in the hospital refused to destroy that lion and this is the one that attacked him. You know, you're talking about the lion's just lioning. Yeah, exactly. Lion's gonna lion. Yeah, and so, you know, it's horrible. I'm surprised that they didn't euthanize it. And I know that this guy was an advocate for that but it's almost like... Kill it! Yeah, yeah. Kill it! Kill it now!
No, there might. There's no. We'll be starting with... Kevin! Yep. All right. Here's another story, a lighter story. Plainview Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School on Long Island will see double everywhere graduation. Out of roughly 500 seniors, 15 sets of fraternal twins are picking up diplomas side by side. Wow. Many have been buddies since kindergarten thanks to a local twins club that kept their families close. Some siblings will head to the same college.
But most plan to split up for a bit of independence while staying in touch through group chats and visits.
The school isn't new to big twin turnouts, and next fall's freshmen already include nine more sets. Students joke that there must be something in water, though doctors point to IVF and genetics. Whatever the reason, the group says growing up in pairs made classes, sports, and even family trips more fun, and the double vision will stick long after the caps. So I have twin nephews. They are fraternal twins, and I have to remind myself that
quite often that they are actually twins and not just brothers. Right. Because they don't look alike at all. I mean, one's got light hair, the other's got dark hair, one's got blue eyes, the other's got brown eyes. Grace, who works on our show, has a twin that does not look like her apparently. Right. All right, one last story. A group of First Nations children played a traditional song with drums on Sunday at Metro Vancouver's Grouse Mountain and it ended up
catching the attention of curious grizzly bears in the process. Six children from the Squamish nation were on a trip to the popular grounds...
Sounds like the theme to Rambo. Mountain Resort, which included a grizzly bear witness sanctuary, wilderness sanctuary. And while there, the children played a tune called the Grizzly Bear Song, which comes from one of the nation's hereditary chiefs, Ian Campbell. And in a moment that was caught on video, bears came out of the bush and
And up to the sanctuary fence to curiously examine the six drummers whose traditional song describes their connection and nature into the bear themselves. I'm still a bear. They hate it. They came over because they hate it. Yeah, I'm trying to sleep. But it's wild that it's called the Grizzly Bear Song and they actually came out and approached them while they were playing it.
All right, and there you go. That's what I have in the bizarre file. I am sweating my ass off right now. I am dripping in sweat as we... You can't even tell. No, not at all, right? You look like a fresh daisy. All right, what were you going to say, Case? No, no, no, because with the playing the music for the Bears, we talked about this on the air maybe last week or two weeks ago about how cows apparently love jazz music. Yes. And so you're driving past cow pastures on the way here. I think if I can on the way home, I'm going to pull my car over. Ha, ha, ha.
And play Green Onions. And just to see if they come over. I have to see it. She supposedly loves EDM. So, yeah, yeah. Okay. Get some video of that if you can. I will. I will. All right. Well...
We are going to take a quick break because we have a little bit more business to take care of here at Hershey Park. So we'll return in a moment. We'll do Lesson Question. Trash and music news, but we're having a great time. And it's just the start of the day, by the way. The park is now officially open. We'll come back in a few from Hershey on 93.3 WMMR. Stay with us. Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. This is 93.3 WMMR, live from Hershey Park. This summer, go all in on epic thrills. Now, here's Preston and Steve. Yeah, we are back again, Hershey Park, as we are nearing the end of the live broadcast. Thank you, dude. That guy. That guy. I like that guy. Everybody else but that guy went to go ride rides. What's your name, guy?
Skipping! Thank you, brother. All right, so the park is wide open, and people, as we can see, are continuing to file into Hershey Park. We are right across from Candemonium, which is one of the newer coasters, at least to us. It was actually built in 2020. We rode it earlier this morning. We got to ride the first ride of the day, and it was absolutely incredible. A lot of zero-G coasters.
Awesome hilltops. But now everything's opening up. Yeah, it's after 10, so every ride in the park is open. And continues on through. Preston, you had mentioned, what is the deal again? If you get tickets the evening before? Yeah, so if you... Let's say you buy tickets for tomorrow, for Friday.
You could come here today during the last two hours of the operation on Thursday and access the park. And Amanda was saying earlier, or Quinn maybe it was we were talking to, says that's a good opportunity, especially if you've never been here, to kind of scope the park, get an idea of what rides you want to ride. Or I have found, even like on a Friday night when we were coming in for a Saturday, and I would come here in the two hours before the park would close on Friday...
the lines were already short. People were starting to head home. It's a great idea. And you can ride all you want, and then you have the whole next day. So you can come in, and maybe the night before, get on some of the coasters that you know are going to be jammed the next day. The next day, do the water park and all that stuff, and then you can hit some other rides later on. So it's a really cool thing, and that's why we like to stay at the Hersey Lodge and make a couple of days out of it. That's what's great about this particular part, this particular town,
uh, the, the whole Hershey chocolate world and everything that you can access. There's more than just Hershey park, which is really cool. Yeah, absolutely. So we've been having a great time today. Um, we are going to, should I do this announcement first case or should I do this with music news? You do a music. It's kind of music newsy. So I will do, uh,
the lesson question first and foremost. And we are going to give away as a prize a pair of tickets in a suite to join our very own Brent Porsche for the AutoTrader Echo Park Automotive 400 NASCAR Cup Series race. It's going to be Sunday, July 20th at Dover Motor Speedway. And the question that I'm going to pose to you this morning is, finish this phrase. On your mark, get set...
And then you give us a rest, right? I can't believe I forgot for a second. Let's see if you know the answer. Finish this phrase. On your mark, get set. All right. 610-660-9333 is the number. So call on the phone line now if you know the answer to that. 610-660-9333. While you're doing that, we will get the trash underway. Here we go. The trash business is a gold mine. 933-WML.
with Preston and Steve's Hollywood Trash. All right, it is brought to you by Wawa. Wawa Hoagie Day is happening today. Join the fun on Arch Street at noon. Free hoagies, live music, free admission to the National Constitution Center as well. Steve, what's going on this morning? Well, Preston, Courtney Thorne-Smith has filed for divorce from her husband nearly four years after they separated. Said Courtney, quote, we needed to take the time to once again learn how to hate each other. Ha ha ha.
Oh, my God.
Jones told White that after years of getting punched in the head, he wants to walk away now while he can still... Dude! Dude!
Are you serious? I was wondering why he was ducking. He was being challenged by another fighter for a number of months now, and so this is what was going on. Yeah, apparently. I mean, you cannot have that occupation and not. It's going to wear and tear you quickly. There's a shelf life. Yeah, for sure to that. All right, let's see. We are going to try to get a winner on the phones, and we need you to finish this phrase. On your mark, get set, go.
And then you have to give me the rest. So I'm going to go to a caller here. And we have Jennifer that we're going to check in with. Jennifer, good morning. Can you hear me? I can. And it's actually Holy Schmidt Racing on the line. Oh, hey. How are you doing? I know her. Her son does go-kart racing. Oh, fantastic. All right. Well, let's see if you can get the win here on this one, Jennifer. On your mark, get set.
Go-go! Yes! Go-go! Yeah! Absolutely. All right, Ted, hang on the line. And it's great that you're in racing because we're going to give you a pair of tickets in the suite to join our very own Brent Porsche for the Auto Trainer Echo Park Automotive 400 NASCAR Cup Series race. Sunday, July 20th at Dover Motor Speedway. NASCAR returns at Dover Motor Speedway. July 18th to the 20th, you can see NASCAR's best drivers race at speeds up to 200 miles per hour and enjoy an amazing fan zone and much more. You can get tickets at dover.com.
motorspeedway.com. Let's do music news, please. President Steve's Music News on 93.3 WMMR.
All right, brought to you by Pella Windows and Doors, celebrating 100 years. Right now you can save $250 off windows, $700 off doors, and 0% APR for 48 months. All right, I'm going to start this off with an announcement. Whoa. And, yeah, it's a concert per se. You know music will be involved in some way, shape, or form, but it's a comedy show with some music. So MMR rocks Friday, September 19th at the Wells Fargo Center.
Adam Sandler. Oh, man. Yeah. That's great. It's called You're My Best Friend Tour. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at noon via Ticketmaster. You can check out the concert calendar at WMMR.com for pre-sale, password, and all the information as well. I think we'll have some tickets tomorrow to give away for that. So make sure that you listen for your chance to be a Goo winner. Goo!
Good tickets. So it's Friday, September 19th, Wells Fargo Center. Let's see if we can get him. I mean, we've gotten closer to his inner circle. We've actually had him on before, but I think now be terrific. And a complete side note present. The carousel jam with people riding is just so glorious here to the side. The beautiful thing.
All right. Wolfgang Van Halen was set to perform at Black Sabbath's big send-off concert in Birmingham on July 5th. That's Birmingham, England. That's sweet. Alabama. Alabama.
I was trying to say England and Alabama kept wanting to come out. Yeah. All right. He has now announced that he had to back out of the gig. What? He'll be with his band Mammoth opening for Creed, and that tour starts the day after, so he couldn't swing both. He's bummed out, the miss, but plans to watch the show instead.
The concert, of course, will be the final performance of Black Sabbath's original lineup. It will also feature big names like Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Tool, and a bunch more. Do you know the thing is, he's still, I mean, he obviously has the pedigree, but he's still building his own career, you know? So he's got to do the leg, and he seems incredibly eager and grateful for that opportunity. It's funny, because they're opening for Creed, and in my mind, Creed should open for them. Yeah. I agree.
All right, this guy is a knight. He's a rock legend. And Rod Stewart actually had to beg for more stage time. As Sir Rod was putting together his set list for the appearance at Glastonbury this weekend, he found that he needed 15 more minutes in order to put on the show that he felt the fans wanted and the event required.
Only to be told no. He was given 75 minutes to perform his headlining set. And the festival balked at giving him more time, though they eventually did see the benefit of having one of the all-time greats perform a few more minutes. How about you give me more time or I'll kill you? Talking to the BBC, Rod said, usually I do well over two hours. So there's still a load of songs that we won't be able to do. But we've been working at it.
And I'm not going to make any announcements between songs. I'll do one number and shout next and go straight into the next one. When you go to see an artist, if you go to see Rod Stewart, there's some songs you have to hear. Yeah. You'll freak out. Yeah, for sure. I saw him in...
Alabama, Sweden. No, I saw it. Alabama, Sweden. I would like to see him do the American Songbook. It would be fun, right? I heard that is awesome. Yeah. Rod takes the stage Sunday night. As to what fans can expect, he said it'll be glamorous, it'll be sexy. We've got a little orchestra coming on to play with us, and we may have some bagpipes as well.
The Rolling Stones have new music out, but if you're from Louisiana or have spent time there for Mardi Gras, you may already be familiar with the tune. Is that Louisiana, Finland? The Stones recorded a classic Zydeco track for a new tribute album to the king of Zydeco, Clifton Chenier. Or Chenier. I'm not sure. It's got to be French. Chenier.
The track, which is called Zydeco Sans Parcels, is part of the soundtrack to New Orleans. And the album Tribute to the King of Zydeco comes out on Friday. What would have been the man's 100th birthday? And features contributions from Lucinda Williams, Jimmy Vaughn, Steve Earle, and many more. At its basic level...
Could you listen to a lot of Zydeco? Not a lot. In the right environment, yes. So here's the question. Reggae, you could though, right? Yeah. I think Zydeco is every bit an engaging type of music. It's similar, but I don't think I could listen to Zydeco as much as I could listen to reggae. It's like listening to an hour of didgeridoo. There's only so much variety you can have when you're listening to something like that. Right, right, right.
All right, and I threw this in music news. This is from an hour of didgeridoo live at Red Rock.
You like didgeridoo? Turn it off. You're going to get it. Real quick, Preston. We did a road trip with my grandfather in 1997 and 98. We drove from Philadelphia to Cleveland, and we were going to go see a Cleveland Indians game now with Cleveland Guardians. He had, I'm not kidding, a greatest hits of the didgeridoo CD. And he had one of those CD players that was in his trunk. So the whole time it played, my brothers and I were like,
How is this more than...
15 minutes. That was the greatest hit. Was he an interrogator? I think he went to Australia and he picked it up and he brought it back home and he thought maybe me and my brothers would like it. I want to say that you're making that up. I'm not. But I believe you're not making that up. We played this at Quantico all the time. Listen, man. We did a contest years ago. I believe it was with Weezer, the Hootenanny, where people could audition to join them on stage playing any instrument they wanted. And there was a guy who did the didgeridoo. And he was good. And it was
amazing yeah like it was not this you know it was actually like he used it as a basically a percussive instrument right in fact the original song was titled stairway to didgeridoo wow i actually have a didgeridoo at home i haven't played it in god knows how long no no not easy other than going no your lips vibrate really hard yeah it's hard to do all right anyhow one last story uh cassell's music
A long-time San Fernando fixture and a filming location for Wayne's World is shutting down its doors after nearly 80 years. Owner Ed Intagliata, now 71 years old, is retiring, leaving behind decades spent helping budding musicians. Founded in 1948...
Cassell's played a role in the local music scene, and even they sold Richie Balance's first guitar in 1958. That's pretty amazing. And he said, I still have the receipt from that sale. The family took over the store in 1978, and each sibling helped out teaching lessons, preparing instruments, or handling marketing.
And Tagliata himself joined fresh out of Cal State Fullerton, taking the shop through economic ups and downs for nearly 50 years. And then the store became internationally known after it appeared in Wayne's World, with tourists stopping by to see the famous white Fender Stratocaster from the film, signed by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, and posters referencing the iconic No Stairway to Heaven joke line are still on the walls. And you remember, so he actually did play Stairway to Heaven, and then when the movie was on VHS or DVD or whatever...
It wasn't Stairway to Heaven anymore. Yeah. They didn't have the rights. It was licensing, and they couldn't actually play a portion of Stairway to Heaven for the bit. They've done that in a few movies. But Preston, on the notion of the music store. So I didn't play instruments, but I recorded it. I would use recording equipment and different software. So I'd go to Sam Ash all the time. Sam Ash was kind of...
Maybe the first Sam Ash was right near me. But it was always a cool vibe in those places. There was a place, and it was my hangout in St. Louis. It was called the Drum Headquarters. And it was exclusively a percussion shop. I would just go there. I didn't have any money. I wasn't going to buy anything. I would just hang out. I just wanted to be around the equipment. I wanted to be around other drummers. And Rob, the owner, would almost be like, in the earlier days, would be like,
do you want anything kid and eventually you know i got to know them and i was part of the fabric but yeah it's a it's a communal place it's a cool music store is a communal place yeah and the ones that are those you know i don't know what's what's the big music store now is there guitar center center has that vibe but i'll tell you what there's um and there's a documentary on netflix about it uh about this guitar shop in uh the la area oh yeah
I think it's maybe Ray's antique guitar. Whatever. It's this. I mean, this is where guitar players go. And then, like, famous guitar players go there all the time. As a matter of fact, Joe Bonamassa...
does what you did at the drum headquarters. This is a nationally, like, Oh, one of the best. Yeah. And he just goes there and hangs out. That's cool. Yeah. Uh, regulars described Cassell's, which was recognized twice as one of the top 100 music stores in the world by the National Association of Music Merchants.
As more than a shop, it was a hangout where kids could jam for hours. One local said, if we ever did that at Guitar Center, we would be kicked out. But he said of his teen jam sessions there, he said, but Ed would pop his head in, listen, and get back to work, and he made everyone feel welcome and invited. As for Intagliata, after the store's last day on July 21st,
He plans to travel with his site set on Italy's Amalfi Coast, and the shop will be screening Wayne's World as a final goodbye on July 10th. Oh, wow. It's sad to hear that, yeah. All right, and that is the last bit in music news. We now give you Marissa Magnata. Preston, I just have to thank Newman University for being here and putting us on YouTube because... Yes! Gago is now living forever on our Instagram page.
Good go. I stuttered and it has now become lore. There's actually a second stutter in there too, which I forgot about until I cut up the video. What did I say? You said, you tried to say it rhymes with Rollo and you're like, it times Rollo.
Times with Rolo. Oh, my God. Go. Times with Rolo. Wonderful. All right. It is 1020, so we're going to take a break. We'll come back in a second when we return. We're going to button this whole thing up. We're going to finish it up. We'll get the letter of the day for the Word of the Week prize, and we'll say farewell to our friends here at Hershey Park, where we are Hershey Park happy, Hershey Park glad. We'll be right back in just a moment. Stay with us.

WMMR loves new toys with cool blinking lights and stuff. However, our phone system was last state-of-the-art in 1983. But now, we can say we've joined the 21st century with one number for voice calls and texts. What is that number anyway, huh? 610-660-9333. Now, back with more of the Preston and Steve Show podcast. ♪
This is 93.3 WMMR, live from Hershey Park. This summer, go all in on epic thrills. Now, here's Preston and Steve. All right, my friends, we are coming to the end. Thank you. Yeah! Yeah!
Thank you, thank you. We're coming to the end of our live broadcast today at Hershey Park, which actually started last night as we came in. We stayed at the lodge, had a lovely dinner and cocktails and hung out with the gang and then got ready for today. And here we have been taking in the park. And thank you to Hershey Park for giving us...
500 tickets to give away, which we did. And we had a big-ass crowd here earlier this morning, but obviously once all the rides opened up at 9 o'clock, everybody was gone. If we weren't doing the show, I'd do the same thing. Absolutely, without question. In fact, we had a chance to go and ride Candemonium earlier. Casey was asking me if I was going to ride the big swing, the new Twizzler Gravity Ride.
I've got to pass. Like, I think it's wild. My tolerance for the thrill rides is slipping a little bit. It wiped me out riding Canamonium. You still got golf. I still got golf, brother. Which is really, it's a thrill-seeking thing. Are you going to ride it, Case? Yes, as soon as we get done here. Marissa and I are going to go run over. Wait a minute. We have a young man who rode it. He was talking to us earlier and said he was looking forward to riding it. What was your name again? But I'm so sorry.
Zachary. All right, it was Zach. All right, Zach, how old are you? Six. Six years old. He's now tall enough to go on some of the bigger rides. And you went over, you rode the Twizzler Swing, and you rode it twice, right? Yes. All right, give us your review, your thoughts on that ride. When you're, like, going up, it feels like you're defying gravity. Oh, wow. Okay. When you head back down and you're going backwards, it's like...
You're also feeling the fine gravity. But when you go down face first, it feels like you're getting pulled down to the ground. Like G-Force. He just gave a better interview than Jane Goodall. Yeah, I agree. You have really thought about this. So are you going to go on it again, you think, before the day's up? Or is two enough?
I think it's two is enough. A wise man knows his limit. I love it. All right. Are you going to get on some roller coasters, though, Zachary? Yeah. All right, buddy. You have a great time at Hershey Park, all right? Thanks for your review. Let's hear it. Zachary.
Ride aficionado here. Defying gravity, he said. Defying gravity. I love it, man. This has been so much fun today. And thank you to all our reps and park personnel that have been so gracious and kind to us and our guests today. Yeah. And showing us around and making sure that we access everything.
It's been so much fun, and that's the way they are here at Hershey Park. They're just very amenable. Is that a word? Amenable. Yes, absolutely. I'll tell you this, Preston. If it is important to you, because we all feel the same way, if you go someplace, you want to know it means something to the people that are providing you the service and the experience, it does here. Everyone here cares about you having a good time, and that's not just hyperbole. It is the truth.
Yep, so I want to thank some people that made this broadcast possible. Thank you to our friends at Newman University, Sean McDonald and his kids, Caden and Andrew. Yes. Of course, our incredible engineering group that got here last night to get everything set up, Rodney, Jen, Mark, Sarah, and Will. Thank you, guys. Amazing. They not only got here last night, they beat us here this morning to make sure everything was up and running. They work incredibly hard.
The MM Army members, Eric Kane, thank you guys. Our interns, Kalisa and Kevin, who are here. And back in the studio, obviously, Jason Fayon running the board. And Sam and Grace are running all the particulars of everything else. So it takes a big group of people to pull off like this. And we had a lot of fun doing it today. I have no idea if Pierre Robert is there or not. He's off today. Oh, he's off today. He's taking a little vacay. He's hunting. He's hunting.
Now, Ryan is here, but you're stuck with me, Press. It's cool. Oh, Rob! Hello. Hey, bud, how you doing? I'm doing great. You guys made it sound like so much fun today with you guys being back at Hershey. I was listening all morning, and it was really great to hear what's been going on over there and all the things that have been happening. And it sounds like you...
are all having way too much fun. It's a blast. And Ray, just real quick about Pierre. I forgot to tell you guys. I got a message from a listener this morning who was on a flight at 7 a.m. that Pierre made on time and connecting to where he was going, head out west. And this person that messaged me on Instagram, she was like,
Is that possible that Pierre's on a plane at 7 a.m.? But it turns out it wasn't. It did turn out because he mentioned that he was having his vet knock him out and put him in a case. Makes sense. Yeah. That's what needs to be done. Most definitely. Wow. All right. Well, before we find out what you got going on today, Coop, should we do the letter of the day? Shall we? Let us, Jason. Go ahead. Preston and Steve on 93.3 WMMR.
Now, the Daily Letter. And the Preston and Steve Show brought to you today by the letter... Gee, as in gee, I wish I was there so I could bring home a big bag of chocolate nuggets.

Even though he's not here, there's a few things that only Pierre can do. But I've got the workforce blocks, a couple real timely ones today. And, of course, all the fun and games that is the Pierre Robert radio program. Excellent. All right, Ray, we'll stick with you. And I want to thank our sponsors for today.
